  • We cannot fault swallows barn! Lucy has thought of everything - it was such a special place to stay and she was full of recommendations of great restaurants and walks to do locally. We are definitely coming back as we didn’t have nearly long enough to do all the wonderful things the area has to offer. The weather was dreadful but swallows barn was the cosiest place to squirrel away. We now want to come back in the summer. Wholeheartedly recommend.

  • Amazing stay ! Clean, cozy and very stilish tree house. We will definitely be back in the summer.

    Bianca2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely romantic quirky getaway! Would definitely recommended to anyone thinking about booking this treehouse :)

    Amy2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Booking this weekend away was possibly the best decision myself and my partner have made! The treehouse is located within walking distance of the lovely salcombe, it is a bit hilly, but after a few gin and tonics you hardly notice the slopes! We stayed in mid February, and even with the rain and the wind, we felt incredibly warm and cosy in the beautiful treehouse (which has underfloor heating!!!). Our lovely hosts sent through a massive comprehensive list of not only great places to go for dinner, but a large list of taxi numbers and directions on how to get to and from wherever you need to go! On top of this there was a massive booklet full to the brim of great activities to get stuck into during the day! We opted in for the full cooked breakfast which was winched up to us in a hamper ready for us to cook in the morning. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Everything was so fresh and tasted amazing, and not being the smallest chap, I was impressed with the portion sizes! Worth it every time! I think we witnessed the treehouse being tested as storm Denis was still whipping the coastline during our visit, but apart from the occasional whistling wind, you would hardly notice there was a storm outside! It’s beautifully quiet and with my phone on airplane mode it was the perfect weekend to switch off. It is worth noting that the bed is incredibly comfortable, and the sheets, towels and all cooking utensils were absolutely spotless! We are both very much looking forward to our next visit (maybe in the summer next time to make the most of the lovely patio area with the fire pit!). Thanks again!

  • A lovely unique stay, great location for exploring Salcombe and the wider area. A particularly lovely touch was the option of a breakfast being winched up to the treehouse - we went for the full English and the local produce was excellent. The shower was lovely and warm, a welcoming experience after being out in wet and windy weather!

    Bryony2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful treehouse! Very clean and incredibly well equipped. The underfloor heating and electric wood burner were certainly needed to dry off clothes after a wintry walk! A 20 minute brisk walk to Salcombe along a lovely path, is an added bonus.

    Dave2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • I can’t say thank you enough for our stay. First and foremost The Treehouse and the surroundings are both absolutely gorgeous. The bed was incredibly comfy, in fact the whole place is just so warm and cosy. The shower was absolutely to die for and all the space so well designed. Freya was the perfect host, so informative and organised ahead of arrival and attentive on check in despite her own busy diary. The short walk into Salcombe is really pleasant (bring a torch!) but far enough out of the town that it is it’s own little world. I could not recommend this place enough.

    Will2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Can't recommend the Treehouse at Salcombe Farm enough. It is so comfy and inviting and was absolutelty spotless. The decorations for Christmas were a really nice touch, loved the mistletoe hanging over the bed! Thank you so much Felicity and Freya, can't wait to come back soon.

    Gracie2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely stay at the treehouse for a birthday celebration. Wonderful woodland location but still within a short walking distance into Salcombe. The property was very well presented with lovely extra touches. Good communication, hosts very friendly and welcoming. Would recommend!

  • No words can quite describe the experience me and my partner had at Maren's place; it has definitely exceeded any expectations that we've had. Both Maren and Brain are welcoming, helpful and overall wonderful people!

    Lorreta2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • A superb stay...! It really was magical and the wood burning hot tub down by the river was amazing!! Great spot for being completely away from the mad daily rush!! Highly recommend!

    Nathan2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and secluded. Cosy and welcoming. Stunning views over the hills. Perfect for back to basics holiday + the not so basic hot tub buried in the woods! Bring a torch!

    Lucy2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Marens Yurt is absolutely fantastic. The pictures are lovely but they really don't do it justice, it is so much cosier and beautiful in reality and it really felt like home while we were there. There is everything you need to cook a great meal and settle in for the evening by the wood burner with a glass of wine and fairy lights. We loved exploring the Land Matters site and meeting some of the lovely people who live there. Everyone was so warm and welcoming, in particular, Maren our host. We would definately recommend a stay at the yurt and hope to come back. Thank you Maren :)

    May2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • The is a beautiful hidden gem! Wish we had longer there! The fire was lit when we arrived! Was like a home away from home with amazing views! We will definitely be back soon

    Sarah2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • A magical place to stay surrounded by nature. Maren and Brains were both lovely hosts, offering us craft tools and touring us round the wonderful LandMatters site! The Yurt is gorgeous and has everything you need as long as you enjoy an outdoorsey holiday :D

    Isobel2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • It was a magical weekend, our hosts were wonderful, very thoughtful and considerate. They had thought of everything you would need when staying in a yurt. They even offered extra blankets and slower burning wood as they knew a heavy frost was on it’s way. We felt very privileged when we were given a tour of Landmatters site, which is such exciting Permaculture project. We loved the adventure of wandering through the woods down to the hot tub under the winter star lit sky then snuggling up in front of a toasty stove with hot chocolate afterwards was bliss. It was a joy to experience a couple of days away from the pace and demands of modern living and to bathe in the luxury of earthly living and be surrounded in the healing energy of nature.

    Elizabeth2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely space! Very clean as well! This is a really unique stay and such a lovely, intimate and cosy place for couples! The burner had been started for our arrival so it was wonderfully warm inside - a lovely touch! We would love to come and stay again!

  • The Little Cob is a very special, cosy place in a quiet and peaceful area. It is decorated exceptionally well and Karen has put a lot of thought into it. My partner and I spent the weekend there and we felt very welcome. Karen had even prepared some treats for my birthday and wrote a message for us for our arrival. There is underfloor heating and the shower in the bathroom is the best! To top it all up, Karen gave us a Spa pass which we did use and really enjoyed. She has put a lot of love and hard work into the Little Cob and you can tell. We are very impressed! Highly recommend!

Karen goes the extra mile to ensure her guests are happy. So grateful and would love to come back! X

  • All round great place. Nice Quiet area, a short drive to different towns all offering individuality. Clean, open and inviting home. Pleasantly surprised through the stay.

  • Little Cob in was a perfect escape from the daily norms. You're tucked away in your own little bubble with everything you need for a peaceful and relaxing break. Karen was a great host, always responds promptly and helping with any queries. Unfortunately we went during a bad weather period but we can't wait to go back in the spring/summer to reap all its benefits.

  • I just wanted to say thank you very much for our visit. We had everything we needed and more. Although a couple of our plans were changed due to current circumstances (the steam train was closed!) we had an amazing time exploring Dartmoor, the otter sanctuary and Buckfast abbey. As well as trundling around the castle and Dartmouth centre. Such a wonderful place full of character and history! The cottage offered everything we needed, finding the cottage was not a hassle due to the thoughtful tips left by Nick. All in all, we had a great time and would love to stay again sometime in the future.

  • Just returned from a 4 night stay at Kent Cottage. We were there to attend a wedding at the Naval College and the location was perfect- 5 minutes away by taxi. Lovely, comfortable stay in a cute cottage. Nicholas recommended a local pub called the Green Dragon which was excellent; very friendly staff and lovely food, 5 mins walk from the cottage. Nicholas’ directions were spot on and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay, would definitely recommend.

  • Phil's apartment is a great place to stay. It is modern and well decorated, nice and light and spacious. We were 6 adults staying there and it never felt crowded. The kitchen is very well equipped. It is in a great location in the small village of Torcross, couple of minutes walk from the local pub, The Start Bay inn . The pub is cozy and the food is good lots of specials available and a regular menu. There is also a coffee shop plus another cafe that serves food but both of these were closed after around 4pm. All have sea views. If you like walking this is a great location, literally walk out of the building and you have coastal walks in either direction. Slapton Sands is a great stretch of beach plus you have a freshwater lake with lots of wildlife which you can see from the window of the apartment. There is also a farm shop with a cafe/restaurant just a few minutes drive away. Beesands is a village close by which is a 1/2 mile walk away where there is a lovely cafe and another pub. We stayed for the new year so at night it is not ideal to walk there but it would be great during the summer. Just a note the apartment has two floors and is located on the upper level of an old renovated hotel building, although the master bedroom is on the lower level it is not at ground level.

  • This is an excellent house! We enjoyed our stay very much. It is a spacious house, and it is very well equipped. Everything was very clean on our arrival. The location couldn’t be better, it is right next to our favourite beach. A perfect place to stay with the family over the holidays. Thank you so much!

  • A great location for a week in Devon & the apartment is exceptional. On a wet day we were very happy to chill out in the lounge with a few movies :)

    Libby2019-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely views from every window and the sound of the ocean at night makes a comfortable stay. It’s worth noting the apartment sits meters away from a coastal path which offers an array of adventures in both directions. It’s great a for a group, family, or in our case as a couple looking for a quiet escape with a chance to eat well, brave June’s chilled ocean waters and walk the coastline to Start Point light house. Meeting friendly locals and dining at the local pubs has been a recurring highlight at Slapton. The Penthouse is a super base to adventure out of or just bunker down and relax.

    Paul2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • The appartement was as expected modern and stylish with everything you need for a home from home. We stayed here with 4 people and had a wonderful time. Torcross is a cute little village with a great pub who serves delicious fish and a sweet Cafe for scones and home made cake. We will surely be back

  • Very comfortable, well furnished 2 bed house, a stones throw from the beach and fantastic coastal walks. Unfortunately due to Covid19 concerns, all the cafes, bars and restaurants were either shut or only providing take out service, but that was out of our hosts control. We decided to leave one day early, but normally would have stayed for the full duration of the booking. Highly recommended, especially for lovers of Long coastal walks!

  • A very stylish house in a fantastic location. Will definitely consider another stay.

  • Immaculate brand new two bedroom place was perfect for our family, provided cot and high chair free of charge. Great location.

  • We really enjoyed our stay. I was down for work, but my wife and 3 year old son came too. John was available anytime and was really helpful when we needed to extend our stay. The living area is spacious and stylish. It was nice coming back in the evenings to the property as I found it comfortable and relaxing- it’s very quiet being away from the main road in its own private block. Parking is plentiful with a gated car park. The garage is really handy if you have bikes or prams. Just a stone’s throw from the beach and the wetlands offers some lovely walks and views. Buses to Kingsbridge or Dartmouth are easy to get to- although we found them surprisingly expensive! Overall I would happily stay here again. Highly recommended!

  • Staying at the stables was so convenient for us visiting family members who live locally so we already knew how lovely the area is and the fantastic beaches close by to explore. The guest house felt so private tucked away from the main high street but so easy to nip to the shops for anything you might need. It had everything you could possibly need or want away from home and felt very cozy. We would stay again with out a doubt. Thank you Alison for our stay.

  • We had a fabulous three night stay in the studio and we absolutely loved the place. Its location was brilliant for exploring Dartmouth and the surrounding area and the parking space was a bonus. We loved the decor and we had everything we needed and more for an extremely comfortable stay Would definitely book here again if we find ourselves back in the area and highly recommend this accommodation.

  • Annie’s place was perfect! Absolutely beautifully designed and had everything I needed - and a little bit more. Although I didn’t meet my hosts they were easy to reach if I needed anything. It was a 15 min walk to BRNC which suited me perfectly. If you are in Dartmouth, staying at Annie’s place is an essential! I hope to be back very soon.

We offer accommodation in a large, comfortable double room above our pub in the estuary town of Kingsbridge in South Devon. The room has an en-suite with shower and toilet; TV; tea and coffee making facilities; hairdryer; wardrobe and drawers. The pub downstairs is a traditional pub, with a pool table, piano and charming, courtyard garden. We are based in the heart of the town, close to a variety of fine restaurants and shops, the bus station and the scenic estuary.
There is a private side entrance to the building which is available to guests if they do not want to use the pub entrance. We do not provide any meals, but there are a number of places nearby which offer food throughout the day. It is important to be aware that the room is above the pub and so there is a level of noise which comes from downstairs. There is live music performed by local musicians on a Sunday from 5-7pm. We are situated on a street with award winning restaurants, another pub and take-away outlets. It can therefore be a busy part of town, especially on a Saturday night, so there is some noise outside the pub. Some may enjoy being so central, while others may not, so please keep this in mind.
Kingsbridge is a charming estuary town in the South Hams, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The town has a number of interesting independent shops; art galleries; cafes; restaurants; pubs; a cinema and leisure centre with a swimming pool and gym. There is a scenic embankment for those who enjoy a stroll and for the adventurous, the town is an ideal base from which to explore the nearby coastal areas, moor and neighbouring towns.
  • A wonderful stay with an amazing host. Thank you so much. ❤️ There's is a slight bit a noise heard in the room from the downstairs pub, but not enough to disturb your sleep etc. Smack bang in the centre of the town, close to all restaurants and pubs/cafes. The room was spacious, clean and well lit. Lovely touch with the coffee cafetiere, a great start to the mornings. :) Would highly recommend the hermi, and should we be needing a place to stay in kingsbridge again we will defiantly be back.

  • Great place to stay in Kingsbridge, central, amazing host and excellent communication from Anna, super comfortable room, bed and TV, with ensuite, excellent shower and very nice people, thanks again, see you next visit if you're free to accommodate, Iain

    Iain2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • This lovely room hidden away on one of the side streets in Kingsbridge is a gem. It is situated above a “proper” old pub and has one of the comfiest beds 👍. As it is above the pub, you can hear muted music and chat but to be honest I hear more noise from the tv from my neighbours house ! It’s a lovely old building with plenty of restaurants nearby and take any direction to explore many of the nearby towns like Salcome, Totnes or Dartmouth. The hosts are very friendly, they will give advice on places to visit, eat and nothing is too much trouble. We brought back take-always to our room and they provided us with plates and cutlery and having a bar downstairs was very useful 😁. We took two dogs with us and they enjoyed all the attention from the friendly locals too. This is a lovely little bolt hole to escape to and we enjoyed it so much we’ve booked again already. Thankyou for an enjoyable stay x🐶

    Katrina 2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Extremely comfortable stay st Anna's. Well situated in the centre of Kingsbridge, plenty of places to eat literally on your doorstep & nearby shops. Anna was a top host, ensured I was well looked after & provided prompt responses to ajy comms. Definitely recommend a stay if your in the Kingsbridge area.

  • Hermitage Inn was perfect for our weekend break, Anna was really welcoming and the room was exactly as it said on the tin!

    Robyn2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The room was very spacious and clean, and in a perfect location right in the centre of town. Fantastic value for how lovely the room is, thanks Anna, we'll definitely be back!

    Madeleine2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Large spacious rooms, very clean and homely with some nice touches. there is noise from the bar below - you can hear the jukebox if you don't have the Tv on and some noise from the street at times, but this is to be expected due to the age of the building and the fact that the rooms are above the bar area. I can't fault this property for the price though

    Kevin2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • There is a huge, light-filled room above the pub with the most comfortable bed. The power shower has just the right pressure for a delicious hot shower with toiletries provided. This is a pub facility so expect some noise, but even with a live singer performing, it was not obtrusive. Anna and Austen are very strict with closing time so my sleeping hours were never interrupted. Added advantage is of course a freshly drawn pint before bed. Kingsbridge abounds with eating establishments within a 5 minute walk. On-site parking and access is very convenient. There’s loads of wardrobe space too for longer stays.

Escape to the country and find sanctuary in our two-hundred year-old, newly renovated, two-room cottage, situated at the end of a peaceful farm courtyard, with a secluded and enchanting private garden, and views over pasture fields that run down to the sea and the fabulous beaches of South Devon.
At Rose Cottage, luxury beckons everywhere you look: contemporary oak furniture, heated slate floors, a comfy leather sofa and original art on every wall. The spacious bedroom has a kingsize bed with crisp, 400-count cottons, a large basin and dresser, and a positively decadent marble-tiled ensuite bathroom with power shower. The living area is cleverly designed to make use of every bit of space, and incorporates a fully-equipped kitchen, a wood burner for colder evenings, and HD TV with DVD and satellite. Three sets of French doors ensure the cottage is filled with light whatever the weather, and give direct access from both rooms to the cottage's private garden: a flagged and graveled patio area with outdoor dining facilities and barbecue, a terrace planted with mature trees, shrubs and ground cover, and a well stocked herb garden for guests’ use. A gate at the end of the garden opens onto our own pasture, with views to fishing village of Beesands a mile away, where an excellent pub and an award-winning fish restaurant will delight even the most jaded of appetites. Wake to the sound of the cock crowing. Collect your own eggs for breakfast, and try some home-cured bacon from our free-range black pigs. Fill your time lounging in the garden, collecting shells on the beach, swimming in the sea, surfing, cycling, horseriding, or just pottering about the quiet country lanes between the cottage and the coast. At the end of another busy day, as the evening draws in and dusk descends on the farmyard, sit back with a glass of something or other and listen to the sounds of the countryside putting itself to bed – the pheasants calling as they fly home to their roosts, or the first hoot of our resident tawny owls. In a few hours the stars will be out and, untrammelled by city light pollution, set to put on a magnificent display.
The South Hams, Devon's own riviera, boasts some of the most unspoilt coastline on the English coast: its sweeping bays and secluded coves, including the promontories of Start Point and Bolt Head, along with the lower Avon and Dart valleys, form the South Devon Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Many miles of safe, award-winning beaches offer swimming, rockpooling, and sunbathing opportunities, while watersports - particularly surfing, windsurfing, sailing, waterskiing and parasailing - are popular and widely available. There are facilities for golf, sailing, horseriding, tennis, and river- and sea fishing all within 30 minutes' drive of the property. Walkers and their dogs will appreciate the attractions of miles of quiet lanes, footpaths, bridleways, and the renowned South Devon Coast Path, while stargazers will glory in the complete absence of artificial light, which makes the Milky Way regularly visible with the naked eye. The area is hugely popular with birdwatchers: Start Point is on a major migration route, Slapton Ley is an overwintering spot for overseas visitors, and the rare Cirl Bunting can be spotted on the farm. South Devon is at the cutting edge of the Good Food revolution in the UK and there are superb eateries to be found in every town and village. Fish and seafood are a speciality in the many fishing villages along the coast, and there are a number of establishments where you can pick your choice from the slab or tank and have it prepared, cooked and served to your table while you wait.

  • Lovely little cottage, with a log burner and it’s own garden, which was perfect for our dog. Comfy bed and good shower too. The hamper was a nice little touch and being able to buy extra free range eggs, bacon and sausages - all produced on the farm itself - made breakfast an environmentally-friendly delight!

    Chris2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely winter stay at Rose cottage. Everything you require for 2 plus dog! Great location for getting to east and west beaches in the Salcombe area of Devon. Hospitality basket with eggs, milk, home made bread and marmalade was a real treat. Firing up the wood stove each night left us warm and cosy. Would highly recommend.

  • A quiet, comfortable haven in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The accomodation was spotlessly clean and a comprehensive welcome hamper awaited us on our arrival. The cottage has everything you need for a secluded get-away and is within a short drive of several starting points for stunning coastal walks. Piers and Sue are great hosts - happy to leave you to your own devices or to offer advice if requested. They also sell their own truly delicious bacon and sausages...

  • Skylarks is the perfect place for a quiet holiday exploring the beautiful coastline, fishing towns and nature reserves in the area. The chalet is cosy and ultra clean. It’s location is perfect, away from the crowds but near enough to have a view of the sea and listen to the birds singing amongst the wild flowers.

  • The property is very clean and as described. Ideal for a couple or young family seeking some peace and quiet since the associated camp site is off in another field. It’s about 20 mins to Dartmouth and less than 10 mins to Torcross. Checking in is straightforward and Gill is a friendly host.

  • A lovely cottage with everything you might need. Location couldn't be better. Very cosy. Great place for a stay. Lots of great walks nearby.

    Katharine2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little seaside cottage with great traditional touches. Cosy living room and well equipped kitchen. We also liked the walk in shower which was great after a muddy / sandy walk. Fab pub a 5 second walk away and yummy fish and chips at Britannia a few more doors away. We were glad of the location as my hubbie didn't have to shuttlebus to and from the south Devon marathon, perfect.

    Georgina2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Spent a cozy few days in January here, just as we imagined and lovely to have use of the open fire, or the electric log burner as an option. Very well equipped throughout, with everything we needed. Couldn't get much closer to the sea! Friendly pub, dog friendly, just four doors away. Lovely quiet area with hardly any traffic noise due to a no through road. Woke up to the sound of waves crashing, such a treat if you live in the middle of the country. We'd certainly book again, prompt communication from the hosts if you had any questions. Thank you!

    Sharon2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely perfect, the little cottage was even better than we expected, quaint and cosy but really well equipped. The open fire place was the icing on the cake, and made for the perfect Christmas atmosphere. Beesands is lovely, isolated and quiet (well, at Christmas anyway ;-) ) we didn’t try it but the local pub looked great. Some really good walks up on the coastal path, and some challenging runs if you happen to be a trail runner! Can’t fault Trish and Lloyd either, excellent, prompt communication and all the information we needed. Really good hosts, with some very thoughtful little touches. Very highly recommend!

    Sarah2019-12-27T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little cottage and in keeping with its character. Really close to coastal path with lovely walks

    Katharine2019-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little cottage in a wonderful location. Very well equipped and cosy with everything you need. Beesands is delightful And we had quite forgotten such unique locations still exist! Thanks so much to our hosts; we hope to visit again

Proudly built with luxury and quirkiness as the top agenda, Tilly's is the perfect place for relaxation and peace. Tilly’s is self contained and set in the courtyard of our farm, situated at the end of a long post and rail, private drive. We live in the farmhouse. Surrounded by our 50 acres and with a large garden for your sole use, (a short walk across the yard) you can be sure of no light pollution, many delightful places to walk and plenty of peace and tranquility. The front door leads into the open plan living room and kitchen. The well-appointed kitchen has an electric oven and Smeg hob (gas), microwave, fridge and freezer. A selection of herbs, stock cubes, seasoning, olive oil, tea, coffee, sugar and kitchen roll will be there to start you off. Also muesli, semi skimmed milk, butter and jam. From the kitchen the staircase leads up to the bedroom and luxury en-suite bathroom which boasts over 100 fibre optic twinkling stars over the roll topped slipper bath. The walk-in shower has oodles of hot water and plenty of space, with quality towels, shampoo, and shower gel. The King size bed is delightfully comfortable; perfect after a day exploring the South Hams. Tilly's has it's own large garden - approximately 10 meters from the front door. There is a covered hot tub (We reserve the right to withdraw / close this facility if there is a mechanical breakdown, severe weather / ice or other issue that makes it deemed unsafe to use) as well as seating and BBQ. Thermostatic central heating throughout. NOTE: Tilly's is extremely popular . . . if your dates are not available, why not check out our other beautiful property - Lofty's which is now available as a one bedroom option for couples (we close off the 2nd bedroom). The nightly price quoted is based on 2 people. It also has its own private hot tub and some fabulously quirky design!
Kingsbridge is just under 5 miles away and the nearest villages (2 miles) are Slapton, East Allington and Blackawton. – each has a traditional village pub. Within 20 minutes you could be at either Dartmouth, Salcombe or one of the many award winning sandy beaches the South Hams has to offer. Dartmoor is less then half an hour from Tilly's - well worth a day out.
  • We absolutely loved this trip, the cottage is beautiful & well stocked with everything you could need, the hot tub area is stunning and with the sheep & emus on the farm it felt truly special. The hosts were incredibly friendly & helpful with suggestions on the local area. Will definitely be back soon!

    Will2020-03-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing weekend in Tilly's! We loved the hot tub and saying hello to all the animals. The space was very stylish and clean. Very relaxing!

    Emma2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is just beautiful and perfectly clean. The location is remote and quiet, perfect for a relaxing quiet get away, yet still close enough to Dartmouth and salcombe and other local villages! The hot tub was so relaxing and overlooked the countryside!

    Lucca2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful place surrounded by countryside, we had the best weekend stay! Julie and Keith were fantastic hosts, everything was perfect!

    Tom2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • 5 star service isn’t a high enough rating! We travelled for hours to get here and it was worth every second! As a very stressed out working couple running a busy business and little time for ourselves this felt like a couple days in heaven. The place is amazing, Julie was just lovely and so helpful above and beyond our expectations. I cannot rate this place highly enough and would 100% recommend and return!

    Anne Marie2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Couldn’t of asked for a better place to stay for my anniversary

    Joseph2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at Julie's place. The hot tub is great with fantastic views, and sheltered enough so the weather wasn't a problem. The accommodation is perfect for a couple with ample space and amenities. Plenty to do in the local area, even in poor weather. Wish we could have stayed longer.

    Chris2020-02-20T00:00:00Z

The Bolthole - Compact & cosy detached studio with garden. Located in the heart of Kingswear just 100 metres from the River Dart, the river can be seen from the garden terrace. No hills to climb, just 5 mins walk to the passenger & car ferries for the short trip over to Dartmouth & 2 mins walk to the village shop, a lovely cafe & the Steam Packet pub. Perfect for the coastal path. Street parking is free, 5 mins walk from the property & paid parking is in the marina opposite the property.
The Bolthole is a detached 1 bed studio property nestled in the valley in the heart of Kingswear just above the River Dart and Waterhead Creek. The 2 pubs, cafe and shop are all just a couple of minutes walk away. Newly developed using carefully selected reclaimed materials mixed with all the modern comforts to complement. Located on the slope above our main house there is a lovely little garden with its own deck where the River Dart, the hills in the distance and Waterhead Creek can be seen. You can retreat from the hustle and bustle of Dartmouth in the private garden and enjoy the evening sun. The idea and inspiration was to create a hidden space to escape to and the perfect base to explore South Devon & Cornwall. The property is a very cosy and compact studio. It's one room living with ensuite bathroom and has a coastal feel by way of white washed T&G timber and a hardwood waxed wooden floor reclaimed from marina boards having been weathered for 20 years. The King-size bed has a memory foam mattress and white Egyptian cotton bed linen, we also provide white bath and hand towels. We also provide tea, coffee, sugar, milk, salt, pepper, handwash, toilet roll and washing up liquid. There is an area to cook in a well equipped kitchenette and a vintage dining table & chairs. Natural light floods in and the garden has the afternoon and evening sun accessed via double doors that open to the oak steps up to the deck.
A lovely location and the river is 100m away and a short walk to the coastal path. A great local shop, lovely cafe, superb pub, passenger ferry, car ferries, castles, steam trains, steam river boats, walks, vineyards and much more. Not forgetting friendly people!

Owl's Barn is a cosy yet contemporary open plan Barn with stunning views across the coastline towards the Dart Estuary. Just a few short miles outside Dartmouth, Owl's Barn is situated in the lovely village of Strete.
Owl's Barn sleeps 4/6 people it has two bedrooms, one of which has a double bed and ensuite shower room. The second bedroom has a double bed and two bunk beds. There is also a house bathroom with shower. To make the most our lovely views the layout of our Barn is upside down so the living area is upstairs and open plan split level which means the accommodation is not suitable for toddlers. Local Attractions As well as being surrounded by beautiful beaches, Strete is 15 minutes drive from Dartmouth, home of the Royal Britannia Naval College. A vibrant working port, full of history and interesting places to visit as well as having a great selection of restaurants, bars and cafes. We did however manage a circular walk from Little Dartmouth taking in magnificent views from the coast path. A great place to stay if you enjoy relaxing in a peaceful environment.

  • We had a great time at Tanglewood, Annie was extremely helpful telling us places to visit and walks to take, we didn't use the car at all for two days it felt great. The views across the river are amazing, we had unknowingly booked regatta week so lots to see and do. Annie and Rob said to use their garden for a better view of the fireworks which was very nice of them. Tanglewood is a little piece of heaven, if you get a chance we would recommend you stay there.

Even managed to be really warm and cosy in one of the worst storms on record (thanks Dennis for an exciting trip!) Lots of careful attention to detail - tea, coffee, milk, biscuits and other surprises on arrival - everything beautifully laid out to create a great welcome. A perfect place for a get away. If you love spending time at the coast, At the Beach is the perfect choice. Perched at the end of a three-mile shingle beach, you couldn’t get closer to the sea if you tried. You’ll feel instantly at home the second you step inside this beautiful apartment. The large sofa is ready to welcome you after a day at the beach and you can enjoy the first coffee of the day standing at your Juliet balcony watching the world go by. • Had a lovely time! I had limited expectations for the price being so affordable but Rob and his chalet exceeded them all. It was lovely, cosy and warm and Rob had great communication when I had a question or two for him!

The Stables are located in the centre of Stoke Fleming village. Outside and inside the buildings retain their traditional character, with original timber lintels and exposed stone walls, married delicately to stylish and contemporary decor and all the comforts of home. Downstairs, the accommodation includes a small lounge area, breakfast/dining area and small kitchenette. Upstairs features a king sized bed and en-suite bathroom.
The Stables are developed within the walled courtyard of the old village stables. There is parking for one car at the property, but it is a tight manoeuvre. There are also plenty of parking places nearby. The barn was redeveloped to be a holiday cottage in 2019 and makes an ideal location for discovering the Dart Valley and Start Bay in the South Hams.
The Stables is right in the middle of the quaint village of Stoke Fleming. Within a minute or two’s walk you can access The Green Dragon pub, the village shop, the local restaurant Radius7, and the village hotel which has indoor and outdoor swimming pools and tennis courts. The local playing field and children’s play park are around 200 metres away. Stoke Fleming nestles on top of the cliffs above Blackpool Sands, one of Devon’s most impressive beaches, just a ten minute walk down the hill via the Southwest Coast Path which runs past The Saddlery. To the north The Southwest Coast Path takes you to Dartmouth. A good hours walk along the coast path or a short five minute drive, the bustling medieval harbour town of Dartmouth is full of shops, bars and restaurants. From here take a boat to Totnes or a Steam Train to Torbay. Look out for annual events in the area including Dartmouth Food Festival (October), Dart Comedy Festival (March), Dartmouth Music Festival (May), Tunes on the Sands music festival (July), Dartmouth Royal Regatta (August Bank Holiday).
  • Amazing little hideaway for hubby myself and our 2 little dogs......superb location and the saddlery is very well equipped. Perfect location, wonderful walks and Jay was a super host.

  • A lovely bijou conversion in the heart of the village. A perfect spot if you are wanting to explore the coastline with easy access to the coastal path. Short walk to the beach and great walk along the coast into Dartmouth, via the Castle.

  • Cosy and stylish space ideal for us when visiting family in Stoke Fleming

    Karen2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable and stylish - Jay's photos give a very good feel for the place, including the low ceilings upstairs. Great walks from the village, so we didn't need to use our car.

  • Very comfortable, clean and stylish in a great location.

    Estelle2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Cosy little place; tucked away but close to nice pub with food and lovely big park to walk the dog. Be aware very low ceiling in the bathroom but super cosy!

    Chris2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • The place is beautifully finished and has everything we needed, including a very comfortable bed. The saddlery is right in the village and we very much enjoyed being able to walk out straight from there without using our car, heading either direction along the coastal path.

    Birgit2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I (and our labrador) spent 8 most enjoyable days at The Saddlery in Stoke Fleming. It was an ideal venue/base for our visit to Dartmouth Britannia Royal Naval College. The South Devon coast was lovely, Jay is an excellent host and we have no hesitation in commending The Saddlery. Malcolm and Maria
