  • Parsonage house is beautifully maintained and very well equipped, the house was clean and super toasty due to the aga. Jonathan is a excellent host and very attentive, we were celebrating a birthday, and he very kindly brought us a bottle of champagne.

  • You can expect a very large individual house with great space in the rooms. Very ornate individual choice of furniture but a lovely homely feel to the house. We were a group of 9 and had all the space we wanted. Great large house.

  • Jonathan’s house is amazing! We are a large family and it accommodated us all with ease. The settling is lovely and quiet with no neighbours to disturb. The house is very well equipped with everything you need for a great family evening, even a heated food trolly for serving dinner. Jonathan was on hand at all times to assist and was a great host! Very highly recommended.

  • Most welcoming couple. Everything was as described on the web. Kitchen has everything you need and was clean and tidy. House was cosy and warm. The steps to the front door are not a problem as there is level access to the rear. It was actually nice to forego a TV for a few days 😊. Will definitely return.

*** THE PERFECT PLACE FOR SOCIAL DISTANCE IN THE COUNTRYSIDE*** We are taking this Corvid 19 situation very seriously. Due to this we now have air purifiers and a very strict cleansing program taking 24 hours after each guest. So stay with confidence and luxury in our barn. With stone fireplace complete with log burner. Throughout the property are timber beams, the feel is a cozy lodge/barn. Darton. J37 m1 2mins J38 m1 2mins Barnsley 4mins Leeds 18mins The Sculpture Park is 2 mins away .
***** THE PERFECT BREAK FOR A FRIENDS OR FAMILY GET TO SOCIAL DISTANCE ***** Why choose the “Barn” to stay ? WE ARE TAKING THE C VIRUS VERY SERIOUSLY . For this reason we have now fitted an air purifier . See details at the bottom . Our custom made dining table easily seats 10 for the perfect family . If you require a extra special place to stay, Then you’ve found your perfect home ! On arrival you will be greeted buy your gift basket full of goodies and I think the mrs is also putting alcohol in there these days . We’ve now been on air Bnb over 2 years with 5 star reviews , please read the reviews as they say it all. You will not find another home on Airbnb as unique and we are proud of that . Yes we are probably the higher end of pricing spectrum but we have much more than the average listing. It’s Laura Ashley meets hundreds of years old architecture and features. Yet when you get in off those Yorkshire moors after a hard days walk and feel the underfloor heating on your cold feet . You’ll know you’ve all the mod cons of a new home. We also have a professional trampoline dug into the ground that is suitable for adults and children. A brand new hot tub is in the garden, it’s perfect for unwinding after a hard day. We advise hot tub hours are 10am-8pm. Plastic glasses are provided for outdoor use. (we do have a safety booklet with regards to the hot tub. If you have any health problems or you are pregnant we would recommend seeking medical advice before using the hot tub, children under 4 should not be allowed to use the hot tub). We are in a small barn complex, with a green field and acre communal pond outlook . Galloping horses being the most common sight out of our full height windows. Although please keep an eye out for the resident family of kingfishers , a couple of illusive Canada geese , if you hear the odd screech it's our seasonal little owl , a tree creeper and half a dozen wild yet resident mallard . ( a pair of Roe deer are now a rare sighting but are now on the land out front) There’s a chiminea and picnic bench in the communal 1 acre pond area and an half barrel BBQ and chiminea in our garden too . This would also double as a small fire pit . We have apple tv in our very spacious living room, as well as a piano (potentially out of tune!), the fireplace beam is a 600 year old ships timber . The main wall in the living room dates back to the 1500's... intrigued yet? The main home of the complex and original farm in mentioned in the doomsday book. Most our floors are either solid oak or period stone / limestone in our well equipped kitchen . All heated under floor. The master suite has a king size bed and en suite. 2 other bedrooms have double beds. The fourth bedroom is a twin room which is on the curtained mezzanine level. If you would like more information please contact us. Travel cot and / or a full size wooden can be provided. We also have high chairs, stair gates, baby monitor etc. we aim to make your traveling experience as stress free as possible! Please note, indoors is strictly non smoking. Evidence of smoking in the house will incur a substantial fee. There is plenty of outdoor space should guests wish to smoke, we politely request the gardens and surrounding areas aren’t littered with butts, we host many families with small children and pets. We are non smokers and do not feel we should pick up other people’s cigarette ends. In the very local vicinity (10 minutes walk) we have 4 fantastic pubs, see brochure in house for details. In the village there is a post office, mini supermarket, Chinese, 2 indian restaurants , pizza and thai restaurant / takeaway, pharmacy and the local hospital is less than a 10 minute drive (hopefully you wont need to see the latter). There are also nice villages around Darton, Mapplewell has some nice pubs, but Cawthorne is an area that has won awards and had a lovely pub (Spencers arms) and a huge park / country home / working farm (Cannon Hall farm see pictures ). Other attractions include the Yorkshire Sculpture Park (5 minute away) and the National Coal Mining Musuem to name a couple. We are more or less sat on the M1 corridor therefore should you need to go any further there are easily accessible transport links. It seems a lot of guests are meeting centrally in the country for get togethers . But don’t forget this local area has much much more to offer too . Getting here buy train could not be easier with London just over 2hours 15 mins away by train . Darton station is the closest 5 min walk from ours. Barnsley next closest 5 min taxi £5 ish Wakefield is £16 in taxi ish and about 15 mins . Sheffield a little bit further . But you can get to Darton from all above stations . https://ysp.org.uk/ Our system now captures 99.9% of bacteria in 1hIdeal for allergy sufferers: removes 99% of airborne particles such as dust, pet hair and pollenApp controls the air purifier with advice on air quality outside & inside your home Effectively cleans rooms up to 79 mEnjoy a peaceful sleep with night mode setting. • Absolutely perfect! Everything we could need/want for a New Years getaway. Everything was provided for us, even more! There were so many lovely small touches that really made our trip special, like a welcome hamper (Prosecco and chocolate!) rolled towels, a warm house with a cosy fire place! Everything was absolutely perfect and felt just like home (but even better!) I would definitely recommend this place for any kind of getaway, whether that be with the family or friends. Thankyou so much for hosting us. The Shannon Family.

  • Had a great weekend- it's a lovely, stylish, comfortable and well equipped house. It had everything we needed and the hot tub was fab. It was easy to get to even without a car, we got a train to the local village, then a 10-15 min walk to the house, with a number of nice pubs a similar walk away. I'd definitely recommend for a big group of friends, or for families as they had plenty of kids equipment too.

    Sarah2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastic, well kitted out cottage. This is definitely a place where you can escape to. Given the size of cottage and amenities, we were very happy to spend time there without the urge to 'get out and about', and when we did go out to explore the area, we were all very happy to go back and chill out there. The kitchen was well kitted out also; we cooked every night, and didn't lack any utensils / equipment. The host was very welcoming and easy to communicate with, and even greeted us with a personalised hamper. The jacuzzi and log burner was also ready to go, and the host happy to provide additional fire lighters etc. when asked. This is definitely a 5 star experience as we normally find with airbnb. Would happily recommend to others.

Characterful, cosy and quirky late 17th century weaver's cottage situated in the suburb of Fartown approximately 1.4 miles from Huddersfield town centre and train station. There are excellent links from the train station to Manchester airport, Leeds, York and London via Wakefield. Bus stops are close by (for Huddersfield and Bradford) and there is easy access to the M62 (approximately 2 miles away).
The small cottage is full of character, with an interior that's a fusion of vintage, retro, industrial, rustic and country cottage elements. The main space is the cosy kitchen/living room (approx 5 metres x 3 metres in size). The kitchen section has a fridge, kettle, toaster, microwave, smoothie maker, single induction hob and small oven. The simple living room has two comfortable leather armchairs, coffee table, and electric heater. The upstairs bedroom (approx 3 x 3metres in size) contains one double bed, an electric heater in the bedroom, hanging space for clothes, and a wall-mounted 40 inch television with main freeview channels in HD. The new bathroom suite has an electric shower. There is NO WiFi in the cottage. Outside the cottage is a private/fenced garden with outdoor table and two chairs, that guests are welcome to use. There is an adjoining cottage next door (it is currently unoccupied, but there could be workmen on site at times doing work renovating it). The cottage accommodate 1-2 guests due to its size. Although situated in a fairly busy urban area, the cottage is set back from the road which gives it a more removed and secluded feeling and usually its pretty quiet. Guest access Guests are welcome to arrive from 3pm onwards and the departure time is by 11.am. Other things to note Please be aware that there is no Wi-Fi in the cottage. There will be a selection of foodstuffs available (in the fridge and on the shelves) for the preparation of breakfast, which could include the following: bread, butter, breakfast cereals, various spreads, filter coffee and tea. Although the cottage is Andy's home, on occasions he may need to call by for various reasons, but would let you know in advance. Whenever possible, guests will be greeted by Andy, otherwise guests can use the key safe for self check-in from 3pm onwards.
Within a short walking distance away is a post office, bakery, chemist, launderette, general store, takeaways and restaurants. There's also a choice of supermarkets in the area including Asda, Aldi, Sainsburys and Tesco.
  • Very cute cottage, really enjoyable stay. Perfect if you're looking for some time to yourself to read or listen to music. It is a very small place, so be prepared for that, but it adds to the charm. If the weather had been better this week, I would have been able to enjoy the garden area a bit more. Recommended for spring / summer months. The accommodation was very cute, and I had a great time there. It is the perfect place if you want to spend a little time alone. The house is quite small but this adds to its charm. In spring / summer it would be an ideal place.

  • The Nest is a really cosy, clean and comfortable place to stay. A place to relax in as soon as you walk through the door. Andrew provides all you need (plus some very thoughtful extras) to ensure a great stay. We will definitely stay again and would recommend to anyone looking to visit this area.

    Jo2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • As they say...’Good things come in small packages’! I arrived late and walked up the side path. At first I wasn’t sure as the house next door looked run down , HOWEVER , don’t be put off as you realise it’s having a facelift , the builders are in progress updating. So once in it’s a safe little nest .. As a woman on my own, with dog, it was ideal. All small details thought of for your furry friend too. Everything explained very clearly re heating , all simple to use .. fridge had a choice of milks ( very thoughtful) and all very clean..the bed is extremely comfortable... and the best thing for me, I had no WiFi so peace and quiet .... a great excuse. Andrew responded quickly to any question . Yes I would recommend . Thank you Andrew.

    Lucy2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • It's a real cosy 'nest ', extremely clean and relaxing .we would happily return one day

  • Beautifully decorated cosy little place. The host Andy was very generous with the amenities available, everything you would want for a short stay and was there.

    Abby2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is adorable and beautiful with lovely comfy facilities and lots of personal touches for the guests who stay there. Andrew was easy to get a hold of while being very welcoming and answered every question even providing good places nearby to eat or bus and train options for those who need it. Would easily recommend this place as it was nice location and lovely accommodation and hosting.

It has views over the village and up to the surrounding countryside and moors of the Peak District national park. With Holme Moss viewpoint visible from the hot tub (optional charges apply see below). The master bedroom has a sumptuous super king size bed, but no space for storage, only a chair and two bedside tables, the wardrobe and the chest of drawers and dressing table are on the landing. When the weather is good the garden has two terraces with a table and chairs to take advantage of the view and an outside oven and BBQ on request for a small additional cost, this must be requested in advance. The very large kitchen is equipped with a range cooker, retro fridge freezer, dishwasher, washer, microwave, toaster and kettle. There is a large kitchen table and chairs. It has a traditional Belfast sink and a solid oak work surface - they are old so they are not perfect, but spotlessly clean and we think add character. The sitting room has a log burning stove, comfortable classic sofa, two Ekorness Stressless leather chairs and a smart TV and Blu-Ray DVD player. The large bathroom has a vintage suite with a deep roll top bath and a rain shower within a separate cubicle. There is a large storage/drying room off the kitchen suitable for walking boots, cycles and prams. In the swimming pool room there is also an indoor spa bath. In the adjacent changing room there is also a sauna - if guests hire the pool, both are also available for £5 and £10 respectively if the swimming pool is booked. Guests of Your Yorkshire Time - Holmfirth Hot-tub Heaven (Eider, Mallard, Shelduck & Teal) can book the pool for their exclusive use for 75 minutes for the discounted rate of £30, or £60 for two hours 30 minutes. The swimming pool is situated at your hosts own home, 8 miles south of Holmfirth. The drive from Holmfirth to the swimming pool provides spectacular views of the Peak District. There are separate house rules for the swimming pool. Use of the pool is subject to availability. Please book early to avoid disappointment. To do so send an Airbnb message with your preferred time/s and dates.
Holmfirth is a quirky village, as woderfully showcased in the TV series Last of the Summer Wine. It is ideal for hikers and cyclists, but also for people who want to wander its quaint streets and enjoy the market and numerous shops, pubs and restaurants and other attractions. There is also a live music venue - the Picturedrome. The centre of the village is a two minute walk down steep steps and cobbles from the cottage. The walks can be accessed right from the door. • Lovely old cosy cottage in a great location with a wonderful hot tub. Angela was quick and easy to communicate with and gave us a warm welcome with explanations, recommendations, and a generous hamper.

  • We had a great stay again at Angela's place. A delightful 3 storey weavers cottage at an amazing location in Holmfirth. Very cosy and well appointed.

  • Great location for exploring Holmfirth! Beautiful, cosy cottage to relax in. Hot tub and log burner really made our stay. Great welcome basket and Angela was very helpful from the moment we arrived.

  • Fantastic stay at Eider cottage, Angela was very accomodating of my last minute request to stay. The cottage is larger than the pictures make it appear. Location is perfect, short walk in to the centre of town down picturesque narrow steps and alleys. Great place to stay to explore the north of the peak district. Angela had left various essentials and treats in the kitchen and the property has lots of books and leaflets on what to do in the local area. Hot tub was a lovely way to relax in the evening after long walks on the moors. Thoroughly recommend

    Gabriella2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a brilliant weekend at Angela's place - it is immaculate and Angela is a brilliant host who was there to welcome us on arrival and show us around the cottage. The cottage is in a fab location - right in the village so easy to get to restaurants, bars and shops. Overall a great find - we would definitely recommend!

    Eleanor2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • What a great stay we had at Eider Cottage! Angela's place was clean, tidy, cosy, and had the most lovely welcome touches. We were greeted with a generous food and drinks hamper on arrival and a smile! Any questions/queries Angela was very responsive and helpful. The location was tranquil in the quiet village of Holmfirth and only a short walking distance from shops, cafes, and takeaways. The hot tub area was shared and private and was the perfect relaxation spot! I'd definitely return.

    Jennifer2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I had a lovely 5 night stay. Angela went above and beyond. The cottage is cosy, clean and the bath and hot tub are amazing! We will definitely be returning!

  • A super find!! Jerome and Pippa’s cottage is so lovely and they provided us with everything we could need. Travelling up from Cornwall and arriving at 10pm to a warm, cosy place was just what we both needed. We requested logs for the fire but the cottage is so warm we only lit the fire being the romantics that we are!! We definitely hope to return ~ Holmfirth is a really welcoming town in a beautiful area of W Yorkshire. Thank you!

  • The house is excellent. There’s is nothing bad I can say about it. It’s located on a fairly quiet road and has a driveway for your car. There is enough entertainment to keep you busy on rainy days. Netflix is available as long as you have an account to sign into, Plenty of DVDs to choose from and a games console with two controllers with a selection of games to choose from. The sofa is very comfortable and the beds are very comfy too. The kitchen has all the basic things you’ll need to cook. All in all a great house. The host, James, is very friendly and professional. He knows the local area very well. He is very quick at responding to any questions you may have and will respond on the same day.

    Pritesh2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place, great comms from James and an unspoilt gem of a town. We used James' home to explore the surrounding area of Yorkshire and found it to be a great place for returning home to each night. The house has all you need to stay comfortable during a break, with comfy beds, super snuggly duvets and an all round quality home to enjoy. The local pub is also very interesting with very friendly owners, an eclectic mix of clientele, well looked after ales and good pub grub when it was needed. Thanks James

  • Host is so welcoming, friendly and helpful eg taxi to venue. Louise showed us where to help ourselves to warm drinks in the kitchen and where to eat that evening - bath towels huge and fluffy - bedroom was quirky which I liked - and bathroom had a lovely big bath but we only stayed one night and shower fine. Loved the Temple Spa products ! Bed so so comfy too. A great find. Thanks again.

A lovely double room overlooking woods half a mile from the centre of the market town of Holmfirth. English breakfast included and access to a private lounge with woodburner and door straight out into the garden.
This is a cosy double room with a wooden floor and original cast iron fireplace dating back to the 1880s. The window overlooks the garden, woods and stream beyond and still has the original wooden shutters. The room is quiet and dark at night (no ambient street light). There are old wooden beams, one of which is carved by local artist Mick Kirkby Geddes. Antique, but comfortable double bed with feather topper, chair, chest of drawers, wardrobe and dressing table. The room is part of our house so you will be sharing the main house bathroom, which includes a bath and drencher shower. (We do have other toilet facilities downstairs if there is a logjam!)
Holmfirth is a small market town, tucked into the foothills of the Pennines and about 5 miles from the centre of Huddersfield. The town is well known as the location for the popular TV series ‘Last of the Summer Wine’ and visitors take advantage of the classic Summer Wine tours around the area in a vintage bus. There are many excellent restaurants in Holmfirth (Indian, tapas, Italian, French) and the fabulous Picturedrome (www.picturedrome.net) – home to a range of concerts and tribute bands. Throughout the year there are many festivals - including Holmfirth Festival of Folk (early May); Holmfirth Film Festival (late May); Holmfirth Arts Festival (mid-June); Holmfirth Artweek (early July) and the Festival of Food in September. We are also 30 minutes drive from the award winning Yorkshire Sculpture Park ( www.ysp.co.uk) and 40 minutes from the Hepworth Gallery in Wakefield (www.hepworthwakefield.org). The walking is varied and beautiful and it is possible to walk out of the door of our house and straight up into the hills.

Between the knowledgeable host and friendly farm animals, we were made to feel right at home and provided with everything that we needed. There are plenty of activities in and around the property, and tons of gorgeous public footpaths to explore. Heath was incredibly helpful whenever we needed him and always quick to communicate. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend to anybody. A perfect trip guaranteed!

    Chris2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is quirky with lots of character and history in a beautiful location. I had a wonderful stay here. Heath is fantastic and very helpful, I’d highly recommend this cottage

    Lizzie2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Heath was a fantastic host! From the moment of booking we were contacted within the hour with details of checking in and directions etc. Heath kept in contact each step of the way, this was our first airbnb stay, so didn't know what to expect, but Heath pulled out all the stops to make our night away a pleasure. The cottage is a little hidden gem and ultra cosy! We had just the one nights stay and felt like it was a home away from home, everything clean and sparkling. We specifically loved the artwork throughout the house, along with an array of books and games that kept us entertained on a dark winters night. Everything was perfect, a testament to a good host. We hope to stay again in the future! Ashley and Katie

  • What a find. A very quirky, rustic place of tranquility. A very warm and cosy place in spite of the wind and some rain. Everything you need ( in fact more than enough Dvds, games and books ) . Some great walks locally and 2 great pubs. I ate at the Red Lion which was cosy, friendly and good pub food.

    Jan2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay and Heath is a brilliant host, with excellent local knowledge. We loved our stay here and would love to come back again

    Mark2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Only had one night at heaths but I loved it! The cottage is full of interesting bits and pieces. Lots of interesting books to browse and a well equipped kitchen. Heath is only round the corner for any questions and you might be lucky and get his cat as a visitor! The place is so quaint and charming. There is a pub literally down the lane but I did not get chance to check it out. If you like a walk/run I did a great 10k loop round digley reservoir which is only 10mins drive away. I will definitely be back with more time to explore.

Our cosy little cottage is located in the tranquil village of Hepworth, on the edge of the Peak District and perfect for those wanting to take a break in the countryside. Surrounded by great views, scenic walks and many biking trails. Close to the pretty town of Holmfirth, more famously known for last of the summer wine and packed with a large variety of wine bars, pubs and good restaurants. The cottage is ideal for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers and biking/hiking enthusiasts.
Stonewell cottage has a private garden at the front with wonderful views. There is s cosy living area with a log burning stove and an adjoining fully equipped kitchen. On the first floor is a bright double bedroom with a fabulous en suite and large walk-in shower. The cottage is completely private but attached to our family home so we are never too far away if you need help with anything.
Village shop a short walk away for basic provisions. Walking distance to several country pubs. Two miles from Holmfirth centre, home to many bars and restaurants, as well as the popular Picturedrome venue which attracts an array of musical and sporting events. For those wanting to venture further afield - Manchester, Leeds and Sheffield are all within 50 minutes drive of the cottage.
  • Fantastic stay, wonderful little cottage. Would definitely recommend!

  • I can’t recommend this house enough. It was one of the best Stay ever. The house is super clean and very cosy. It has everything you need for a perfect stay. The indoor fire place is so nice that we didn’t want to leave the house. It’s in a very quiet area, but there are some local pubs nearby and it’s not far from a lot of attractions. It’s a very safe place to stay. Alexes and Jonathan are perfect hosts and very friendly. I definitely recommend this place.

  • This cottage is very comfortable, well thought out with many thoughtful little touches. We enjoyed a two night stay and felt so at ease here. Eating one night in Holmfirth and the other delicious fish and chips from scholes in the cottage. It was a relaxing time and would certainly recommend. Very comfortable bed and a beautiful view when pulling back the curtains in the mornings! Absolutely fabulous!

    Rosie2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cosy little cottage with a fantastic wood burning stove. Very comfy bed and an amazing bath room! Lovely little touches include DVD's, Sky, umbrellas and shampoo and conditioner. The hosts even left us milk so we could have a cupper when we arrived.

    Vickie2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice place to stay not a long drive to amazing walks in the Peak District and a few great pubs in walking distance from the cottage

    James2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice cottage in a super location.

    Steve2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is beautiful and the local town has a lot of restaurants and bars around. There are a few car parks in town so no need to be too careful about taking the car. If you are a dog owner, you will love that there are a lot of pubs and cafes that allow dogs inside. Not all, just a word of warning before you walk in. Our favourite pub (Butchers Arms) which is literally five minutes walk up the hill will allow dogs and has fireplaces to give that cosy feel. We were very lucky to be allowed to check in early and we were greeted by Alexes the owner. We are appreciative that they were accommodating to the last detail. The fireplace was ready for use and there was milk, shortbread, and two beers in the fridge. Unlike most hosts, they will allow you to get settled and leave you to enjoy your holiday to you despite living next door. If you are looking for a place to stay, my fiance and I would very much recommend here. We look forward to returning as soon as possible.

*Flexible cancellation recently added to prevent spread of Coronavirus. Property professionally deep cleaned before and after every booking* Beautiful cottage situated in Thurlstone, near Holmfirth/Sheffield/Peak District. Great for walks/cycling. Swedish Massage/Reflexology available to book. Ideal for a relaxing break. No TV channels but loads of DVD's, books, WIFI, Echo Dot. Chromecast/HDMI to run apps such as iPlayer/Netflix through your device. 5 min walk to pub, 1 to bakery.
It's one of the smallest dwellings in Thurlstone, which isn't a bad thing as it's just perfect for 1-3 guests and easy to keep warm and cosy. A quiet little under-dwelling with loads of character and a pretty, rural view. The building is listed, built in 1840, plenty of roadside parking.
Thurlstone is a quiet country town with a pub, free roadside parking, a small shop and lots of walks. Penistone is a market town and just 20 minutes away by foot. The award winning Huntsman Pub is a short stroll away, it's very popular with real ale drinkers and does amazing Sunday dinners and homemade pies. The new Fox Valley Mall is located nearby, it has plenty of shops and various restaurants. 10 minute drive. Also a 15 minute walk from the house is an Italian restaurant based in an old blacksmith forge (Tiamo) I think it is very good, fairly expensive (but quality) specials and reasonably priced pizza and pasta with 241 on Sundays and Tuesdays. Across the road from this is an Indian restaurant, very tasty food and reasonable prices (Taste of India). The White Hart is a highly rated pub/wine bar situated between and also does food. The Trans Pennines trail (five mins from my cottage) is perfect for biking and walking. You can rent bikes on the trail, half a day for £18. Or you can rent my city bike, helmet and lock for £10 a day. Langsett Resevoir is a very picturesque walk with a pub and cafe at its base, it's a 40 minute walk to get there, or five minute drive (recommended) Cannon Hall and Cawthorne Park is a ten minute drive away. Recommended!! The Yorkshire Sculpture Park is also close for drivers.
  • Stayed here for 2 nights and absolutely loved it. Had a lovely walk around Langsett reservoir, couldn’t explore too much due to the Coronavirus outbreak but couldn’t have been in a better place with the cottage having such a good selection of books, records, cd’s, DVD’s, a radio and an Alexa. We also took a laptop to watch Netflix so we were kept well entertained. Also has a great little kitchen, bathroom and very comfortable bed. Would definitely stay again. 10/10 :)

  • We had a lovely stay. Everything was easy to find and clean. It was quiet, beautifully decorated and the bed was very comfy!

    Valentina2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place was perfectly clean and excellently maintained. The location was great and we felt surrounded by nature but still had amenities. A lovely cosey hideaway.

  • Lovely place with a gorgeous cottage feel and arty decor. We had everything we needed and were well set up for cooking our meals there. The bed was very comfortable and finishing the trip with a lovely Swedish massage from our host Kirsty was fantastic. She was very friendly and accommodating and great with communication. Highly recommend!

  • Wonderful place to stay, very relaxing And clean. Everything was easy. Thank you

    Helen2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Kirsty's cosy cottage is a little gem of a find! We loved the fact it didn't have television - not really a fan of television anyway but you can connect the HDMI cable that's provided if you want to watch stuff. Loved that you can spend time here and connect with one another (quite literally!) we played connect 4! We played some other games, we read interesting books, there's a huge array of books all very interesting (Sheffield Gang Wars amongst others) The pictures on the wall - all make an interesting discussion. I love how the place has been decorated. Thoughtful touches - breakfast in the fridge, thoughtful handwritten (I LOVE handwritten stuff being a writer myself) messages everywhere, the tree of positivity, the map of shipwrecks in the bathroom. As soon as you walk in, the vibe is positive and relaxed. There's an Alexa which we've never used before and found that quite hilarious - you can ask for a daily trivia quiz which we did and a nightly music quiz. There's a friendly and welcoming pub 5 minutes up the road that serves great ales and nice food - a pub the way it should be! Really good value for money. Last but not least!! Kirsty, as a host, is lovely and welcoming. I booked a full Swedish massage with reflexology an hour and a half and it was excellent value for money and pure relaxation (and included a foot spa!) I highly recommend having one of the treatments if you stay here. We will be back :D

  • At Claire cute annex, you can expect nothing but perfection. Claire is a great host and nothing was too much trouble. It was exactly where we wanted to be.The place was spotlessly clean, cosy and the views were wonderful. We will return. Highly recommended

  • The annex is so beautiful and amazing furnished! Claire is such a thoughtful host, alongside her husband - there was chocolate buttons left for us along side crumpets, milk, pastries ect. The annex was lovely a private, so we could have our alone time. I cannot not emphasise how lovely this was! We was also able to stay longer as there was no one staying there the next night which allowed us to look around Holmfirth. Would 1000% recommend this lovely place to anyone! Thank you so much - chloe and reef x

  • A great place for a stay in Holmfirth and the surrounding area. A fantastic view across the fields of the Holme valley. We only had a short stay but would happily go back for longer. Claire was a great host, she welcomed us and responded quickly to queries, but otherwise left us to our own devices.

  • Claire is an excellent host! She was incredibly friendly and helped us with all our requests. Communication was superb! This gorgeous place is a lot more spacious than you think. Claire is so generous and left out pastries, cereal bars, cereal boxes, a small smoothie for our young one and much more! We loved our stay and we'd definitely come back, next time we're in Holmfirth. Thank you so much for having us. Top tip: If you're not an experienced driver / Parker, you're best to park road side, but, if you can handle it, the drive is very convenient and so close to the entrance! Thanks again Claire. This really was one of our best Airbnb stays.

Welcome to "The Lodge", a charming converted Victorian washroom near the centre of Holmfirth - home of “Last of The Summer Wine” and The Picturedrome. Location: Across from our house, by the park. A 2 minute walk down the hill to central Holmfirth. Inside: Private and self-contained. Gas central-heating. Comfortable double bed. Wifi, TV, DAB radio. Fridge. Tea and coffee. Hairdryer. Shower room with toiletries and towels. Outside: Terrace with table and chairs. Reserved parking on our drive.
Our lovely mini-cottage was once the washroom to the main house. It was built from local stone c 1900 and originally contained white glazed tiles, a coal-fired range and a stone wash tub. On the side of the building is a face carved in stone, which we have been told is that of the man who had the houses built for his 2 daughters. We converted "The Lodge" into a spare bedroom about 10 years ago. It is well insulated and heated by a radiator and towel rail from a gas boiler located in our garage. On fine days you will be able to enjoy breakfast in the sunshine on the small terrace where there are garden chairs and a table.
We are located literally a stone's throw from the centre of the lively and friendly town of Holmfirth, adjacent to Victoria Park. All the local amenities are conveniently available within walking distance. Whether you are here for shopping and sight-seeing; the food, music or art festivals; a live-music gig at the Picturedrome; or to enjoy a night out in one of the many pubs and restuarants, you will be able to leave the car safely parked and set off into town on foot. There are also several cafes in the town to choose from for breakfast and lunch. Please note that Cooper Lane is steep with a cobbled pavement on one side only. Holmfirth is an ideal base or stop-over point for walking, cycling and touring holidays. It lies in the picturesque Holme Valley and is close to the Peak District National Park. The Tour de France route came through here before attacking the formidable climb up Holme Moss in 2014. The council-run gym and swimming pool, and a recreation ground, are only half a mile away by the river.
  • Absolutely outstanding lodge and amazing value. The bed was by far the comfiest bed I’ve ever stayed in. Throughout the lodge there was little touches that made a big difference to our stay and made it more enjoyable. We will definitely be returning to the lodge in the future. It’s an absolute credit to the owners!! Thank You 😊

  • The place was very well situated right near the middle of Holmfirth, all the amenities were great and there were some nice touches such as orange juice and milk in the fridge as well as coffee and tea available. We very much enjoyed our stay and would come again in future.

  • This was my 3rd visit to the Lodge. It is a lovely space to relax and I always enjoy staying there as a base for visiting friends and taking walks from the door into the nearby countryside. It is very comfortable with lots of thoughtful touches. Also, it is conveniently located in the middle of Holmfirth but feels a little hidden away and is quiet (you can’t hear any traffic noise from the main road, for example.). I would recommend, and I hope to be back to stay again soon. Thank you for creating this lovely space, and for being such lovely hosts.

  • Another great stay!

    Tony2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • First time using Airbnb (although have used other similar sites) so rightly so, was a bit nervous. Angela is a great host, and gave a really warm welcome. Directions to the house were spot on. Her home is immaculate, and very stylish! The rooms provided for guests are spotlessly clean, comfortable and homely. The bed is seriously comfortable and I slept like a log! Totally recommend staying here to anyone considering it!

    Tony2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent place to stay.

    Carl2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This was genuinely the best Airbnb stay I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a few! I was given tips right from the start on where to get food from and which taxi company to use to save money. When I arrived. I felt so welcomed and looked after. Angela had thought of everything - down to some emergency paracetamol and toiletries. Her and her husband are amazing hosts and really care about guests comfort. I had access to the kitchen, where I joined them for breakfast on my final day, and to a private lounge space which was cosy and stylish. The house itself is modern, clean and warm with amazing plush carpets. The private bathroom is again very clean and modern with a lovely big shower. The bed is super comfortable with plenty of pillows and blankets (something I struggle with usually when doing Airbnb is a lack of supportive pillows). Although it’s a stay in someone’s house, there was plenty of space to keep to myself if I wanted without feeling uncomfortable at all. It’s in a super location, only about 25 minutes walk from the centre. They truly went above and beyond as hosts and I would genuinely go back to Huddersfield just to stay with them! We had some lovely and interesting conversations. It was like staying with a best friend’s parents, which is a big compliment.

Our lovely Bunker is situated 3 minutes walk to the centre of Holmfirth and the Picturedrome. Built in our garden, this hideaway serves as accommodation for our large family to use when visiting. It has a large open plan kitchen/lounge diner with a sofa bed, one double bedroom, an office area, bathroom and a utility room housing the laundry facilities. It has underfloor heating and is double glazed. There is a dedicated parking space on our drive and a deck to sit on, in good weather.
The Bunker is delightfully private and self contained but only a stones throw from the centre of Holmfirth. Equally it is just a few minutes walk to the hills that made Holmfirth popular in "The Last of the Summer Wine" tv show.
We are located close to the centre of the lively and friendly town of Holmfirth. All the local amenities are conveniently available within walking distance. Whether you are here for shopping and sight-seeing; the food, music or art festivals; a live-music gig at the Picturedrome; or to enjoy a night out in one of the many pubs and restuarants, you will be able to leave the car safely parked and set off on foot down the hill to town . Please note that South Lane is steep but there is an easier shingle path up our garden to The Bunker. Our hens are free range so don't be surprised to find one trotting up the path with you. They may even lay you an egg for breakfast! Holmfirth is an ideal base or stop-over point for walking, motorcycling/cycling and touring holidays. It lies in the picturesque Holme Valley and is close to the Peak District National Park. We have many wonderful cycling roads in fact 'The Tour de France' route came through here before attacking the formidable climb up Holme Moss in 2014. There is a doctors surgery, council owned public gym and swimming pool less than 15 minutes walk away.
  • Beautifully clean home, excellent location and great customer service. Would definitely recommend and will be booking again in the summer.

  • Di is an amazing host, who goes the extra mile to make you feel welcome. The Bunker is an incredible place, which is so comfortable and quiet. It’s spotlessly clean too! It’s in a perfect location to explore Holmfirth as it is a very short walk to all the shops, bars and restaurants. We’ll definitely be going back again.

Traveller's studio is a beautifully converted artist workshop and is situated behind private gates. The cottage has a light and spacious feel and it has been appointed and decorated stylishly and with practicality in mind. Perhaps one of the best features are the views across fields of horses and the sunsets are amazing. The cottage is on two levels, with a kitchen and living area. The bed has the option to be twins or a fastened together super-king-sized bed.
Self contained cottage with twin beds that can work as a queen size. New bathroom suite, cosy living room with separate kitchen that has wonderful views across the valley are bar stools which is a great area to work in. Original art on the walls, desk, comfy sofa (sofa bed) and occasional chairs.
The neighbourhood Location: Upper Hopton is a pretty village to walk around with 2 pubs serving excellent food and Upper Hopton Club selling good cheap beer. There is a park with a children’s play area and a cricket club. The area is highly successful in ‘Britain in Bloom village’ and has again been awarded a gold in the spring judging.

Our house is situated in a very quiet neighbourhood. The rear of the property, where the rooms are located, overlook the valley below. We will be happy to help guests in any way we can. Parking outside the property is safe (No Guarantees, obviously!). You would have use of the large, gas barbecue too. We are close to many main cities such as, Leeds, Bradford, York, Sheffield, Manchester etc. There is loads to do and see for all ages.
We don't have many house rules but one is no outdoor shoes in the house, no smoking on the property and no dogs. You would have to like dogs, though, as we have three, two of which are in the photos.
There is a beautiful park nearby, which is huge, with a lake and has beautiful walks. Within a few minutes, by car, in any direction, you are out in stunning countryside with beautiful views. A great ice cream parlour is not far from here and out in the middle of nowhere. it has a great playground for children too.

  • Fab stay with Adam and Tess once again! They’ve changed the layout of the room to now include a kettle and tea/coffee, and a desk which is helpful if you’re working or putting on makeup. Fast response, clean, and friendly welcome as always. Thanks again guys! Xo
