  • This a fantastic property to unwind yourself amidst beautiful orchards. It takes a while to simmer in when you enter the house, it's breathtaking. We had a great host in Vijendra who arranged everything perfectly for us (group of 6 friends). Naresh bhaiya, the caretaker is the go-to guy and available almost 24*7. Would strongly recommend the property, and at least 3-4 days stay here.

  • IT WAS A NICE EXPERIENCE

  • It was our family visit to the Apple Farm Stay during second fortnight in January ‘20 ...we were looking for a place not overcrowded by tourists and yet have some snow around to celebrate our little one’s “Frozen” themed birthday. The route: We dint take the usual route of shimla-kufri-kotkhai to avoid tourist inflow and rather came from solan-yashwant nagar-kotkhai. However, i would not recommend this route unless you are an off-road rally driver like Digvijay Uncle who will take the same route and reach 3 hours ahead of you😜. The property: I will give 10 on 10 to the property, cleanliness and the basic amenities. It maintains its old world charm of a wooden house amongst mystic mountains. A few staircases inside the house gave quite a bit of adventure to our two things aged 8 and 2. A big open space to relax and soak in warm sun. Private parking just outside the house which is a rare find in hilly areas Location: the property is on shimla-rohru road. Although there are no hiking options or much to do around. However, we went for some snow fun and it was just half a kilometre drive to kalapathar and jubbar. Also for some skiing and more snow, we took a two hour drive from the property to Narkanda the other day. Host: Digvijay Uncle has been most gracious host one could ask for. He had been on his toes to make everything in order. Panditji- the cook is available round the clock and would lure you with his aromatic home cooked delicacies. Then there was “shadow” the dog, to keep you company and whom our little one has found as a prospective groom😛 We like travelling to mountains every 4-5 months to escape crowds and get rejuvenated. If thats on one’s mind, the place is worth a visit. For us the stay turned out to be a wonderful experience. thanks to the host!

  • I chanced upon this place while browsing through some boutique homestay options in the outskirts of Shimla. And boy! Am I glad that I found this! The house is located on the main drive surrounded by hill, amidst apple orchards. We were a group of 4 who booked the place for 4 nights. Our booking process was handled seamlessly by Bashita. She was very helpful with the recommendations of walks / trails to do around Kotkhai. When we reached the homestay, we were welcomed by Mr. Digvijay (uncle) and the caretaker Panditji. The house was in great condition with nice Christmas décor to keep the festive vibe. Digvijay uncle was very warm and kind. Panditji cooked some delicious authentic food with vegetables grown at their farm. The bonfire and the flow of hot beverages were the key highlight. We spend many hours by the bonfire every night. Thanks uncle, we simply loved being there, away from the hustle bustle. It was the best start to the New Year. Thank you Bashita for constantly checking on us and making the pre and post booking process so easy. Would love to visit again and definitely recommend this place for an offbeat, peaceful getaway!

  • We were a group of 6 students who stayed for 2 nights at this homestay, and had a wonderful time. The Airbnb in itself is beautiful, quaint and clean- the most adorable place we've stayed in :) There was a little Christmas tree in the hall and an angeethi and heaters were provided. It is situated in a quiet area, about 2-3 hours from Shimla and is ideal for a relaxing getaway. We took long walks, enjoyed the breathtaking views and relaxed in the garden with uncle, Shadow (their cute and completely docile dog) and also a fluffy little cat which ran past sometimes. The marketplace is a 5 minute drive from the Airbnb and Digvijay uncle was nice enough to take us there when required and provide us with whatever amenities we needed. Suresh bhiaya is an amazing cook and took care of all our meals. He prepared delicious paneer, chicken curry and parathas which we all enjoyed immensely. Uncle and Suresh bhaiya stay on the first floor so they were always present to help us out whenever required. Bashita ma'am was also available via phone and called to make sure that we were comfortable. Due to the snow, we faced some issues in terms of road blocks and transport- buses were not running. But again, Digvijay uncle really went out of his way to arrange transportation for us. He was on his phone for several hours, reaching out to his contacts and made sure that we reached back safely, no matter how inconvenient it was for him. He could have easily asked us to make our own arrangements, but he chose to help us out and for that we are very grateful. I would recommend bringing your own vehicle (during winter) to avoid these issues with transport. Having said that, despite the road blocks, we got to see and play with snow in Kufri (which is on the way) and witnessesed snowfall in Kotkhai on the first night. We had not seen snowfall before and it was the most magical experience. We truly had a great time and we owe it all to the incredible hospitality and consideration on their part. We will definitely stay over again and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet time away from the city.

  • The apple farm stay is a breath of fresh air with the old world charm retained beautifully. The rooms, the lobby, the bar, the sit out area, all come together to allure you and soothe your senses. Besides the tranquility this place has to offer, we were mesmerised by the incredible hospitality extended by Mr. Digvijaya. Food quality was top class, cleanliness was immaculate. The place accepted us as its own. A memorable stay we will cherish always.

    Apoorv2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • The place is 2 hours drive from Shimla. The host provided us the location which was very accurate. The home looked as similar as it's posted in the pictures, and it has its own private parking as well. We were greeted by Mr. Digvijay, caretaker Pandit and shadow (their local pet). The house was sparkling clean. We were given the entire ground floor which included 2 rooms, 1 bathroom and common space. The owner itself stays at 1st floor. But privacy is fully respected as it has a separate entrance. The home offers a great view. Though there are not much places to visit around, the location is ideal for group of people visiting for relaxing purpose. The best thing is they provide in-house food for all meals (at an additional cost), because you don't have much eating options outside. However Pandit ji is such a great cook. You really must try chicken dish made by him. He always had a smile on his face and always ready to help you to make your stay comfortable. Mr. Digvijay especially bought us a cake when he got to know that we were celebrating my birthday and gave us some fresh fruits on our departure. He is a very sweet guy with whom you can talk on any topic. A highly recommended property!
