  • Neil's place is gorgeous! So beautifully decorated and so comfortable as well. Neil is friendly, welcoming and easy to talk to. The flat is right near a big tesco, close to nice cafes on Kelham Island, and about a 30 min walk from the train station.

  • Neil is a considerate and friendly host with great tips about the local area and places to eat. The room is really clean and stylish and I really enjoyed my stay with him.

  • I can fully recommend this place. Neil is great. He was very helpful in terms of where to go in the evening and how to get into the Peak District and back. The place itself is more than comfortable, breakfast and coffee are also well arranged. Location was good too. Please check it out!

A large private room in our family home. It's only minutes away from tram link and bus stops with direct access (10-15 mins - subject to roadworks) to the City centre for the universities, theatres, shops, bars and train station. The gorgeous countryside of the Rivelin and Loxley valleys are only minutes away for walking, cycling and running. Further afield, the delights of the Peak District are easily accessible by car or by bus/train from the city. It's a well situated lovely relaxing space.
A very nice, good sized room with period features. There is a very comfy double bed, a desk and chair, great Wi-fi, a TV/DVD player (with Netflix), plenty of storage space and a window seat overlooking the garden. There are books/DVD's and lots of information leaflets in the room. There is also an iron, ironing board, hair dryer and fan in the room. The large bathroom is only 2 feet away from the bedroom and is shared with us in addition there is a downstairs toilet. There is a small private kitchenette area next to the bedroom where you can help yourself to tea/coffee/juice and cereals/toast/fruit etc, including a fridge, kettle and toaster. There is space within our garage for storing bikes etc Free offroad parking is also available if required
Malin Bridge is a suburb which lies approx 2.5 miles north west of the City centre, it is a typical area full of narrow Victorian streets but is also on the edge of the gorgeous countryside where the rivers Loxley and Rivelin meet, there are lots of walks and cycle routes straight from the doorstep - in fact part of the famous 2014 Tour de France route is within easy reach. Hillsborough Park is also close by which hosts a weekly Parkrun on Saturday mornings and next to the park is a very good Leisure centre/swimming pool. Hillsborough football stadium is also within easy walking distance. The splendour of the Peak district is easily accessible by car (Stanage edge 20 mins, Castleton/Edale 30 mins) there are also regular trains and buses from the city centre to the hope valley and Chatsworth etc. As the City Centre is approx 2.5 miles away and only takes 10-15 mins, we have the best of both worlds The local area isn't known for having a great cafe culture however there are plenty of reasonable places to eat and drink which we can give guidance on as well as lots of local facilities such as convenience stores, supermarkets, banks, hairdressers, petrol stations etc etc For shop-aholics Meadowhall is only a tram ride away and has over 260 retailers all under one roof.
  • Alan and Melanie's place is very cosy and stylish - exactly as depicted in the advert. I loved the idea of adapting a walk in wardrobe into a mini kitchenette- it made us feel comfortable and more independent . The house is perfectly located, both close to the city and the countryside, with only few minutes walk to Sheffield Rivelin Valley nature trail. Alan and Melanie were very responsive and helpful but at the same time very respectful of our privacy. It was a perfect stay and I would definitely reccomend them to anyone!

    Paulina2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed with Alan & Melanie overnight. First time in shared home. Check in was smooth, constant contact with hosts and warm greeting on arrival. Room was lovely and bed super comfy. It was a shared bathroom but never saw hosts so as if private. There was a cupboard coverted into a small kitchen with fridge, kettle, toaster & basic food stuffs for breakfast; a genius use of space. Great value for money, would stay again if ever in sheffield overnight.

  • Lovely room, in a really convenient location for the wedding we were attending and great value. Alan and Melanie were great hosts and gave us really useful local tips for walks and places to visit.

  • Melanie and Alan are wonderful hosts and I can't even find words for this special and nicely decorated house. The room is so cosy, I already miss to sit at the window, watching the sunrise while sipping a coffee. The kitchenette is well equipment, the house very clean and only a three minutes walk away from the tram - perfect!

  • Highly recommended perfect fleeting visit! Would stay again when visiting Sheffield! Location great! Great proximity to tram that takes you into the city centre in 15mins! Such a clean comfortable space! And lovely kitchenette and such friendly hosts!

  • This was our second stay at Rosie's. We had a great stay again. Its a stylish flat with plenty of room, and everything we needed for an overnight stay. Helpful information about the locality is provided. Lots of interesting places to eat and drink within walking distance. Thank you Rosie.

    Jane2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed at Rosie's apartment for one night as I was attending a concert in the area that evening. But nonetheless I was made to feel very welcome - the apartment is spacious but cosy, plenty of natural light and quiet enough not to really be aware that Rosie and her family live 'upstairs'. The check-in details were simple to follow too. It's a short 10 minute bus ride from Sheffield train station - ideal! AND there are plenty of local amenities and places to eat as well.

Rosie suggested some great places for us to eat, was an excellent communicator, and the flat was extremely clean and comfy. We had a double air bed, and a double futon, and extra blankets and storage heaters kept us nice and warm. Would definitely recommend.

The apartment is quite new and carefully designed. It has wide doors and flat access from the street- making it easy for prams/ wheelchairs. While it is not large, it is cosy and perfectly located for many local attractions including Sheffield University (15 min walk), hospitals (15 min walk), pubs (5 min walk), parks (5-10 min walk) etc. We are also not far from the city centre- you could walk it in 20-30 minutes, or take a bus (running every 10 minutes, and takes approx 10 minutes). A taxi to the centre will cost approx. 6 pounds. As well as a fully equipped kitchen (fridge, gas hob, double electric fan oven, toaster, microwave, coffee machine, washing machine and dryer, food mixer etc), it has other facilities (hair dryer, iron, full size iron board etc), and many little luxuries in place- fluffy towels, cotton sheets, interesting bath and shower goodies, large selection of organic herbal teas, fruit and snacks, electric blanket, and on occasions, (mostly on the weekends) some home-baked bread...
Crookes is a quite residential neighbourhood. Being so close to university, there are many students living here, and hence we enjoy great bars, restaurants, trendy shops and young atmosphere, as well as being safe and quite. We live next to two wonderful parks, with excellent views and good play facilities.
  • Richard and Yael were so helpful, responding very quickly to messages and questions. The flat is compact but really well kitted out and the sofa bed was surprisingly comfortable to sleep on. The variety of options for breakfast was brilliant and loads of little details were so great. Having off street parking was nice too. Thanks for a lovely stay!

  • This is a lovely one bed flat underneath the hosts' house, with all amenities you need. The welcome was very warm and helpful and I loved the little touches such as fruit and snacks left for the guests. The place was very clean and cosy, very warm as well and the bed very comfy. Cannot wait to stay again.

  • We had a great first time experience using an Airbnb, the accommodation is lovely, warm welcome with goodies left for us. It is a great location for those visiting students at the university, as near to area and we were able to sample some local restaurants and pubs.

    Nichola2020-01-25T00:00:00Z
  • Airbnb at its best! A perfect space to stay and study for the weekend. The flat was spacious, tastefully decorated and spotless. Lots of lovely touches really made this a home from home. Free parking and in walking distance to the University. Yael is a welcoming host who made sure I had everything I needed. Looking forward to staying again in the spring.

  • Brilliant stay with very friendly people who couldn’t do enough to help.

    Katie2020-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Richard and Yael's place is a perfect base for Sheffield city centre and surrounding area. We were made to feel very welcome and the accommodation had lots of extra little touches to make it feel special. I wish we could have stayed longer and will be back if we return to Sheffiled.

    Jenny2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Yael's place is absolutely perfect. She is the most welcoming, friendly and accommodating host I have had the pleasure of book with on Air B'n'B. The apartment is also a mere 30 minute walk or easy 9 minute bus into town! Will 110% be staying here on my next visit to Sheffield!

  • Staying at Anthony and family was an absolute pleasure. Such a warm and comfortable welcome. Although it was a last ditch effort to find a place to stay while I'm working in Sheffield for the next year, using Airbnb at 630pm on my first day at Sheffield was a life savour. And I hit the jackpot. Lovely space, Anthony and his family leave you to your comfort. The bed is amazingly comfortable, the living space (kitchen and living room) are clean, full of utilities, easy to use, modern. The shower is amazing! Very powerful, just what I need to wash the dust off at the end of a hard day's graft. I will definitely be staying here for the year I'm working in Sheffield, even will be having some weekends down their with the wife Safe place to leave my van overnight, safe area, not even ten minutes to my place of work. Thankyou Anthony and family

  • Whenever am in Sheffield I always look forward to get this accommodation for many reasons: accessible, the warm and convenient place, lovely host and lastly the pleasure of privacy to work.

I live close to both train and bus stops. The train runs twice an hour and is 6 mins to Meadowhall 12 to Sheffield. The bus runs every 10 mins and takes about 30 mins. I am 10 mins from Motorway. The room is a guestroom. I am retired. Access to my property is down the side of number 4. I am near Asda .There are several places to eat 5 mins walk away. Tankersley Manor Hotel There parking on the street and I have WIFI
My place is a stone cottage slightly hidden. My main entrance is around the back. The cottage is small but comfortable.
The neighbourhood is quiet with lots of places to eat. There is a large Asda for any shopping. Sussex Road is a small Road and is used as a through fare at peak times but there is usually plenty of car parking available.

This double room is in the house of an artist, in a quiet street and in walking distance from the universities and city centre. The house is full of character and provides a great base from which to explore Sheffield and the surrounding countryside.
The house is spacious shared just with the host and will particularly suit people who appreciate a quiet environment in a relatively central location.
The house is in a great location in the city. It is just a few minutes walk from the bustle of Abbeydale and London Roads, in the heart of the antiques quarter, yet on a very quiet street. Around the corner in the other direction is the leafy area of Nether Edge with a 15 minute walk to Hunters Bar and Ecclesall Road. Numerous convenience stores and independent coffee shops are within just a few minutes walk from the house and larger food shops a little further away. London Road is one of the best known areas for eating out in Sheffield at every budget.
  • Amazing hospitality from Helen in interesting circumstances! She was an absolute star and her house is so, so quiet and lovely. Plus there is her beautiful bold and calming art work. Definitely hoping to have an excuse to get to Sheffield again.

  • A very interesting artist's house (lots of paintings) and Helen is a friendly host. The accommodation is basic but comfortable and roomy. A good place to stay if you are happy with a shared bathroom and no tv, and if the location South of the City Centre but not too far from the Universities suits you.

    Roger2020-03-09T00:00:00Z

I stayed with Michaela and Phil for over a month whilst carrying out some research at the University. It was a great house for me to be able interact with lovely folk when I could but also work when required.

(Please read this listing in its' entirety, incl. my profile re check-in/out times, before booking!) Private Bedroom: single bed, b/side table, TV., DVD player, hanging rail, storage baskets, cupboard, blind (window opens), bedside light, main light (switch outside room), multiple sockets, chair & full-length mirror, laminate floor. Shared bathroom (bath and shower). Towels and hairdryer. Use of dining room, lounge, kitchen, back garden & patio /outside dining area.
This is a household of two people, a cat and a budgie. We offer short-term stays to individuals. If you are looking for something modern and hi-tech, this is not the house for you. We don't operate a pristine, maid-serviced guest house with all the mod cons. This is our home and it is well-lived in and loved. I don't run this as a 'business'. The house was built in 1881 and has wonky door frames, to name but one quirk. We don't have a modern-style toaster or electric kettle. We live a more old-fashioned existence. We are happy for guests to prepare their own food and help themselves to drinks. We offer a simple breakfast, either cereal or toast, possibly eggs etc. As someone who does not eat breakfast, we do not have much in the house, but we do have some basics for our guests. We do not consume milk products but, if reminded, can get them! Similarly, if you would like for us to get something in for you, please just let us know in advance. However, this is a very low-price accommodation so we offer more of a room-only arrangement rather than any kind of B'n'B set-up with a lavish breakfast! Check-in/out times vary greatly and details of these are on the 'profile' section. PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING! Guests are welcome to share our lounge space should they wish, but if they prefer their solitude, there is a television and DVD player in the guest bedroom. Guests will have access to a shared bathroom and are welcome to use any toiletries. This is quite a laid back household so please feel free to come and go/sit with us or spend time alone as you wish. This is a small, single room with a single bed designed for one person only. PLEASE do not ask if partners or friends can share the space with you.
The house is situated in a pleasant suburb to the west of the city centre in Crookes. It has plenty of shops along the main road including supermarkets, grocers, florists, banks, estate agencies, beauty salons and charity shops. It is a hub for students and university and hospital staff due to the close proximity of hospitals and universities. It is a very friendly and desirable neighbourhood and, despite being in a busy suburb, the house is very quiet.
  • Friendly welcome and genial laid back host. Stylish place and peaceful. I slept well in single bed thanks

Our clean and spacious property is a stone's throw from Sheffield city centre and the Peak District National Park. Why not share coffee and cake in the cosy lounge? Dinner in the dining-kitchen? Morning tea in the garden? Feel free to make yourself at home in the shared spaces or retreat to your private room. Rich is looking forward to making your stay in Sheffield as welcoming and enjoyable as possible.
Your cosy single room is the perfect setting for relaxation during your time in Steel City. From your window you can look out across the city and let in the breeze. The comfy bed and duck-down duvet make for perfect hibernation, and the double glazing, central heating, and blackout curtains will keep things toasty and quiet. Travelling with others or after a little extra space? I also list a double room for rent! Why not check if that's available too? Make yourself at home during your stay, and feel free to ask any questions you have. I'm looking forward to meeting you.

  • I had a good stay at Richards house. Very clean. Unfortunately I didn't get to meet Richard as he works shifts and I work long days. Getting in and out of his home was a great touch, using an app on your smartphone. Very easy to do. Would definitely stay again

  • I really loved my stay at Scrabble House! The space was clean and tidy, very cosy and comfortable. The word "quirky" is used in a lot of reviews and I think that's accurate! The area is also pretty cool with lots of independent shops. I think any negative reviews on here are down to people not reading the description properly. Air B&B is not the same as a hotel! You are paying for a unique and homely space, not uniformity and clean lines. I wouldn't normally respond to the negative reviews of others but having read them, they seem very unfair! I would 100% reccomended this property to anyone looking for a central, comfortable and unusual space near to central Sheffield.

  • We had a lovely time in Sheffield, and Laura's place was the ideal base. It was cosy and comfortable, and we appreciated the little touches like milk in the fridge and pastries

    Katherine2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Laura's place is lovely and cosy. My boyfriend and I had a wonderful couple of days here. There's some lovely shops nearby, sadly the weather did not allow for much exploring of the wider area but we were quite content staying at the flat.

It had its own private entrance which allowed me to come and go as I pleased (which was really handy as I arrived very late and left very early in the morning). Stephen was brilliant in communicating and I was really happy with the accommodation. Thank you very much.

About a half an hour walk from the city centre which wasn’t an issue or only a £6-10 taxi. Would definitely recommend staying here if you can.

  • Just a superb stay with Richard and I can't thank him enough for my stay. If I go back to Sheffield this is where I'm going.

  • Richard was a great host. The e-key works well - but it is important to read the instructions! The house was warm and the bed comfortable. The tram stop is very convenient. I didn't spend much time in Richard's home, but I felt very comfortable and welcome.

  • Great space. Kate and Tom were great hosts. Met to chat on first evening other than that was left to my own devices after some long days at work this was much appreciated. The room is a good size with some great touches such as a small area to prep some food and a microwave. Warm room and comfy bed. Would recommend to anyone looking for a trip to Sheffield or nearby.

  • Spent five weeks at Kate and Tom's while working in Sheffield and it was just the place I needed. They clearly deeply care about the style of the room and it's full of vintage touches. Also having a sink and a shower in the bedroom meant I could just get on with things. Very close to a bus stop that whisks you straight into the heart of Sheffield. Would highly recommend to anyone looking to stay in the area.
