“Millennials love to stand in lines. Go mid-morning on weekdays to avoid long lines. But, the food is well worth it! Riches beyond your wildest dreams: butter-golden pains au chocolat, cappuccinos with ferns drawn in dense foam and croque monsieurs turbo-loaded with ham, two kinds of cheese and béchamel. Don't be dismayed by the inevitable line out the door – it moves fast – but be aware that lolling in Dolores Park is the only possible post-Tartine activity.”

“Our favorite date night spot. It's a movie theater where you can order food and drinks and eat right from your seat. There's a dimly-lit velvety bar in the theater for a drink before or after. Comfortable seats. Must order the kimchi OR truffle popcorn!”

Breakfast Spot

“One of the best brunch restaurants in the city hands down. I would recommend NOT coming on a weekend (the wait can be as long as 2 hours), but heading there for breakfast during the week. Take a look at their specials menu, but really you cannot go wrong when ordering here. If can only make it on a weekend, put your name down on the list, walk across the street to Luke’s market and grab coffee and a pastry to hold you over while you wait and people watch. ”

“Cocktails are the best. Ask for the Field Guide to Birds menu. Get there early and sit outside unless you're already hearing impaired. Inside the music is loud and guests shout to be heard. ”
