“First impressions of this Avillez Corner are quite good. The space is quite interesting, well sectioned and decorated, with lighting that makes it cosy even when full. The service is also quite good and efficient. The good wine list and especially cocktails, always a good solution, albeit with slightly above average prices.”

“lowkey spot on Pink Street renowned for having the best selection of tinned fish. Don’t skip the 3 year aged tuna jerky (& white sangria!), and definitely ask the staff for their recommendations. €”

“Amazing bar for having a glass of wine and enjoying some meat, cheese or bread as well as an impressive food menu. The arches above are littered with wine bottles and the atmosphere is fantastic. The service was attentive and friendly. Would 100% recommend to anyone visiting Lisbon and I am looking forward to going again! ”

“Pizzas, Pasta & Risottos: pizzas are excellent! Cooked in wood oven with extra-fine mass. It’s called pizzeria but it’s essentially a Mediterranean-inspired restaurant always with a touch of one of Portugal’s most acclaimed chefs, José Avillez.”

“Das Flores: There’s not much variety in this tiny Chiado tasca, but everything will be tasty, whether it’s stewed, pan-fried, or deep-fried. Go for the pastéis de bacalhau com arroz de tomate (cod cakes with tomato rice), if available. Open only for lunch. (Note: Don’t confuse this with the modern Taberna da Rua das Flores located on the same street.) Rua das Flores 76/78, 1200 Lisboa | +351 21 342 8828”

“Head here for an all fish diner. They serve carpacio and tuna steak. Everything on the menu is absolutely delicious! In May 2018 the art on the wall was by Ricardo Ramos, a very good friend of mine. He makes sculptures with pieces of plastic he finds on the beach. He's doing amazing work to raise awareness of the amount of plastic and debris in our beaches. ”
