“Guinle Park was originally a farmhouse acquired by Dr. Eduardo Guinle to build his residence. Today the Guinle mansion is known as the Laranjeiras Palace, the official residence of the governor of the State of Rio de Janeiro. The Park located at the end of Rua Gago Coutinho, has entrance through a beautiful gate that gives access to an area of 24,750 m2 where you can see a small lake, avenues, lawns, trees and tropical plants. Because it is an area of the Governor's residence, the place is very well policed. It is worth to visit this beautiful park.”

“You can see a lot of animals of Brazilian fauna: alligators, capybaras, turtles and marmosets. It is free, but closed on Mondays. The park is pretty and they have a small collection of alligators, capybaras, marmosets and turtles in cages a few 100 feet from the playground. The REAL attraction is the small trail - the smallest being 73 metres - here your trip will be "disturbed" by the lizard that roam freely in the park.”
