  • Triona is such a wonderful host! We needed a ride from the bus stop to the cottage last minute. My husband and I called and she picked us up, showed us around the cottage and made sure we understood the heating system. We spent 5 days exploring around the property and the mountains near by. The cottage is clean, warm and comfortable. Very secluded. We loved it. Will be a forever cherished memory. Thank you for hosting us! Hope to visit again.

  • This property is absolutely lovely. Wonderful location, beautiful landscapes. We definitely want to return. Recommend 100%.

  • We loved Kylemore Hideaway! We could not get over how beautiful the views were from all sides of the cottage. The peat stove was lovely and the cottage was always warm. The proximity to Kylemore Abbey, Letterfrack and Tullycross was fantastic. Would love to visit again.

  • Beautiful cottage , sparkling clean and idyllic. Cottage has everything you could need and Triona is a wonderful house. We had two small children with us and everything we needed was provided, house was very suitable for young children.

  • Triona’s cottage is a magical haven in the countryside of Ireland and the best Airbnb I have stayed at yet. From the wood stove to the charming kitty and picturesque views— everyday was memorable there and we cannot wait to visit again! Thanks for making this such a fantastic trip for us!

  • The location of the cottage is stunning and the cottage itself is absolutely spotless. It's incredibly warm and cosy and very peaceful. Triona and Rory are excellent hosts and were available at any time for any queries. I couldn't recommend them highly enough.

  • Beautiful cottage with stunning surroundings. We came down for a relaxing weekend before returning to work after Christmas Holidays and it was much more than what we anticipated. The cottage itself is kitted our with everything from turf, wifi, kitchen facilities to shampoo and a hairdryer; we needed for nothing. We arrived late and Triona had the fire lit for us on arrival as the weather was awful. The views from the cottage are breath taking. We walked up the hills and the photos do not do it any justice. We contemplated not leaving we loved it that much. We’ve already talked about returning. Triona was an outstanding host and communication was 110%. Thank you so much for such a lovely stay, we can’t wait to return

  • A lovely and excellent value house in easy reach of both Galway and the Connemara National Park - there was plenty of space for nine adults - and the hosts left a bottle of fizz for us to celebrate the New Year with! Couldn't have asked for better.

    Kate2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Spacious and clean space great for our family of 5! Local shops for woolen gifts and food staples less than a 5 minute drive away - also a pub with local music nightly. Connemara National Park is an easy drive and worthwhile to spend the day there hiking. Having a fire place and large kitchen for sharing meals was especially nice.

  • Nice house clean, spacious and functional. Ann is very attentive. I recommend without problem.

    Melanie2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Booked this property for a family wedding down the road at Cashel House Hotel for two nights. Suited us perfectly as there were 9 family members staying in the house and the location was good for us. Ann left a bottle of Prosecco in the fridge for us with a nice note and her husband Michael called in one evening to make sure we knew how to work the hot water and showers.

  • Lovely, comfortable, clean and well-equipped accommodation. We only stayed for 3 days but a longer stay would have been possible because we felt so good there. The only negative point would be that the accommodation is a bit isolated but for us, it was rather a positive point because it was very relaxing and the place is so beautiful. A magnificent view filled us during the whole stay! Walking tours possible from the accommodation and very close to the sea and beaches. In addition Carmel is helpful, available and friendly.

  • Aine was friendly and helpful from the moment we arrived giving us lots of tips for things to see and places to visit. She had even lit the log burner for us so it was cosy and warm. The cottage was in a good location close to town and we enjoyed seeing the wonderful countryside out and about and getting to visit some of the local bars to hear some traditional Irish music.

    Hannah2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • The Aibnb is extremely well located inside Clifden, and you will find everything you will need. Although it might be cold during winter time, the place has nice amenities. Aine even got us tea/coffee/breakfast. She is extremely nice and will give you loads of tips about what to do in case you run out of idea. Finally, the place was ever so clean. I’d definitely stay there again if I were to come to Connemara again.

  • We had a lovely stay at Kate's Cottage. It's in a beautiful, quiet, rural location and just minutes from Clifden. The cottage is cosy, comfortable and warm - the fire was lit prior to our arrival which made for a true warm welcome. The home has everything you would need, everything is thought of. Aine is the perfect host. She kindly gave us a lift into Clifden and pointed out some great recommendations, Guy's for dinner and Lowry's for drinks and music after. We would be delighted to stay in Kate's Cottage the next time we visit Clifden!

    Sarah2020-02-23T00:00:00Z

  • What a lovely Weekend we have just had. Aine left Adam in charge he done a great job. Popped in to say hello when we arrived and gave a few recommendations, then left us to it, making sure that we were happy to contact him if we needed to. The second night we just so happened to be in a pub that he was playing in. Really lovely for a chilled out of season visit

Welcome to Foxglove Homestead. We offer an exciting form of accommodation. Here you'll stay in a Tiny House in the beautiful heart of Connemara, County Galway. Do you enjoy a different way of holidaying? Do you like to be immersed in the Irish wilderness with no other sounds than grazing sheep, a bee flying by or some playing children in the background? Then our Tiny House might be for you. It offers a comfortable place to stay with the best views in Connemara.
The tiny house sleeps two adults in a double bed that is located in the loft that you access via a ladder. You’ll have a great overview of the landscape from your ‘bedroom’ window. The house has a fully kitted kitchen with an induction cooker, oven, microwave and fridge. The bathroom has a toilet, sink and luxurious rain shower. The Tiny House is situated on the grounds next to the cottage we live in. Guests have access to the fifteen acres of the homestead that run down to a lake that is perfectly suitable for swimming and fishing. The allotment is also free to visit. And who knows there might be something for you to harvest and enjoy at dinner time. From Foxglove Homestead it is just 15 minutes drive to beautiful Roundstone with its amazing beaches, 15 minutes drive to Kylemore Abbey, Connemara National Park and 20 minutes drive to Clifden and all it has to offer. * We’ve only just started opening our Tiny House for guests. Therefore don’t expect fully landscaped gardens and paths. The grounds are still a work in progress. The Tiny House and grounds are probably not very suitable for people with disabilities. Nevertheless we are excited to share this incredible beautiful place with anyone who is up for it.
  • Anne's place was amazing - wish we could have stayed longer. The tiny house has everything you could possibly need and gorgeous touches like fresh eggs and bread (delicious!). We stayed over New Years and were expecting it to be cold, but there's a really efficient heater and super cosy bed, and if you bring slippers or thick socks you'll be toasty. The scenery is amazing and we loved how quiet it was - the bench and swing outside are perfect to sit on in the morning with a cup of coffee and take in the view. Absolutely perfect stay if you want to get away from it all. Thank you so much Anne!

    Pippa2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay in Anne’s tiny home in Connemara, the freshly baked bread was a delightful welcome. The surroundings of the tiny house are perfect to chill out and it makes for a great base to explore the surrounding area

  • This was by far my favorite Airbnb ever booked. Anne and Tom are outstanding hosts. The locations is absolutely incredible. We were greeted by smiles, hospitality, fresh bread, homemade jam and eggs. Anne and Tom go to great lengths to ensure your stay is a lovely one. If you are reading reviews to book this tiny home, stop reading and book now!

    Pearl2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • I have just spent two calm and relaxing days in Anne's little house. I loved every minute of it to the point I had to force myself out of the house to do some sightseeing. I arrived in the dark after a 4 hour drive in the dark and rain to a warm house with freshly baked bread and fresh eggs. And the view is breathtaking. I will be back. Soon.

    Malene2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Although we didn’t get the chance to meet Anne and Tom, their warm welcome and hospitality was definitely felt during our stay. Anne left us a delicious homemade loaf of bread to enjoy, which was just the sweetest gesture. The tiny house was the perfect getaway—we already have friends asking where we stayed after seeing pictures of the views! We will definitely be recommending this place to others.

    Sarah2019-10-20T00:00:00Z

    Sammy2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • How can we describe the experience of being in a traditional stone cottage, having a fire in the wood stove, surrounded by the Connemara Mountains. Declan is a fine host, offers healthy food for breakfast, a helping hand if you need it, and a quiet discretion that is very welcome. The house is small, but the land around it is large! And the towns nearby offer true Irish tradition and fantastic food. We loved staying here. Thank you.

    Lydia2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Declan's place was a really nice stay in a beautiful area of Ireland. He welcomed us into his home very kindly, and his recommendations for places to visit were of real help.

  • Perfect. Declan was very very very caring with us. I will come back. He does for us a fire of turf. I was very happy to live that. It was a very pastoral ambiance. We were in the middle of the sheeps. It was very "exotic" for us. I really LOVE the NATURE in Ireland. And by Declan we were in the middle/in the heart of this WONDERFUL irish NATURE.

  • We were perfectly welcomed during our night at Miriam's. The house is very spacious and we were able to access the kitchen without problems. The room was large and Miriam had provided a heated draw sheet and an additional blanket as it was not hot in Connemara at that time. We were able to taste an excellent Irish breakfast facing the bay, an unforgettable moment! Thank you Miriam

    Stéphane2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful view of the sea, Miriam is very welcoming

    Clotilde2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice stay at Miriam's. The whole family was attentive and considerate, especially with our baby. Special mention for breakfast!

    Stéphanie2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • A very warm welcome, spacious and pleasantly decorated room, a particularly delicious Irish breakfast and an extraordinary view of the bay. Perfect !

    Christian2019-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • The arrival on the premises is a little disconcerting because the outside is not maintained, so do not choose this place for the house itself. On the other hand the room is big, and pleasant, with its bathroom. And especially Miriam is a very friendly host, who has the sense of hospitality. She really wants you to feel good, and she also gives good advice on places to visit

    Sylvain2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Miriam's house is perfect for a stay next to Connemara. She is a very caretaking host and prepared a lovely breakfast. The view from the house is just breathtaking. The room and also your bathroom is really clean and nice. I would love to come back!

    Isolde2019-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • I spent 6 nights in this b & b, and enjoyed every minute. Bernard and Miriam with their daughter Erin, are wonderful hosts. They treated me very well and treated me as one of their friends. They invited me to drink tea with them, an evening to discuss in front of, and even for a meal! They always helped me to prepare my excursions taking into account my desires. Their house is great, the view from the living room is superb. The room was spacious, the bed comfortable and the bathroom very well equipped. I very much enjoyed the breakfast that Miriam prepared for me every morning: Irish full (with eggs, bacon, sausages, fruit etc) or, on request, an excellent porridge. There are many excursions possible in the area. I enjoyed the hikes of the little Vaughan's booklet, which I recommend. By cons, a car is necessary: Roundstone is 15 minutes by car. I have already seen many Airbnb, but this one was by far the best! Thank you, Bernard, Miriam and Erin!

A comfortable detached house surrounded by open land in a small village in Connemara. Surrounded by lakes, mountains and open land.. Pub, shops, doctors surgery and post office are about 8km away. An ideal location for anyone who likes open country and wants to hike, paint, photograph or just take it easy in a quiet peaceful place. Richard is available most days to offer advice for visits around Connemara. Seashore within a 10 minute walk and a magnificent beach only a 10 minute drive away.
A great place to relax away from the stresses of modern life.
Perfect for hikers as I'm only 20 minutes drive from Clifden, the "capital of Connemara" and 10 minutes from the "Twelve Bens " or the Marm Turks hills
  • Very happy with our stay, Richard is very accommodating, quiet person, the location is great for trips round the gorgeous area!

  • Delightful stay at Carmel’s house. It was really like a cocoon. The room is very cozy and fully self-functional and very well equipped (couch and an excellent bed). The private bathroom is big and very appreciable. Carmel is very caring. The pre-prepared breakfast is full of kind attention. Finally, the place where the house is extraordinary. It is calm and the scenaries are very beatiful. Host and place well recommended.

This quaint studio apartment lies in a stunning location of Connemara, 5 minute walk from the local village and Killary Fjord, Ireland only! Forest, River and Mountain walks at your doorstep. Bicycles are also available to explore the beauty that surrounds us.
The apartment is located at the back of our own property but with complete privacy and little or no noise disturbance. The only noise you may hear is the clucking of the hens, which you are free to feed and collect eggs from. We have great neighbours and often BBQ, if the weather allows.
We are located in the heart of Connemara, with mountains, rivers, forests, lakes and the Fjord all at our doorstep. A really special place for the outdoor enthusiast. We love to host guests from all over the world and encourage both of our young girls to speak various languages. My wife is French and I speak both French and Spanish. We live in the main house above the studio apartment.
  • Lovely little place to stay, clean and cosy the apartment was just what we were looking for. Conor was a very welcoming host and I would definitely recommend!

  • Coziest apartment in the nook of a fjord. So special!! Conor greeted us right when we arrived and was such a wonderful host. He gave us a ton of expert tips and has the space set up with everything you need. It was an amazing apartment, an awesome value, and we were bummed we only had one night to stay as there’s lots to explore in the region. We highly recommend this stay!!

    Rebecca2019-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • A big thank you to Conor, a hospitable and sympathetic man. He even put two beers in the fridge and brought some milk. Eggs are fresh from the chicken coop (you can even get them in the morning). The accommodation is clean and cozy. The bathroom is a bit small, but you can survive it. Overall, absolutely worth a recommendation

  • Great stay at this hotel, very close to the city and the skyroad. By car or bus you are 15 minutes from the entrance to Connemara National Park. The little champagne as well as the “tea and scones” was very very appreciable :) The clientele during this period was rather regulars of the hotel or the bar and restaurant. My room was more than excellent for the price of 57 euros. A little bit of noise in the morning when people get up for breakfast but it didn't bother me. I would come back for sure!

An Tigín- a small but perfectly formed wooden cabin in the grounds of Old Rectory Retreat.Your writing desk looks through glass doors to its' cottage garden by the stream. It has full kitchen facilities. Living and sleeping areas are semi-separated.
The Tigín was added to Old Rectory Retreat a few years ago to facilitate writers, artists and anyone looking for her/his/their own intimate space in which to work, inspire themselves, relax or use as a base to explore the countryside for whatever reason. The Tigín is set among trees on the banks of a stream. It's a cottage style wooden cabin with its own garden surrounded by a picket fence. The natural world around is lush and beautiful. You may catch a glimpse of miniature horses or rambling hens in the adjoining field. The cottage has a surprisingly spacious feel. The interior was lovingly designed and built with great attention to detail, by my amazing sister and her husband in between writing and sewing stints. They know how to make the very most of small spaces. You will have full kitchen facilities and a tiny but beautiful shower room. Sleeping and living areas are partially divided by full length presses. The bed can be single or double sized to suit an individual or couple. The cabin has been used in the past mainly by writers but also by artists who wanted to sketch or draw and by musicians writing songs. Also many people have wanted to stay just to enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The all important writers desk looks out through large french windows which are south facing or you can take your work outside and listen more closely to the gurgle of the stream.
The surrounding area is a warren of lovely country walks on roads which don't have very much traffic (and on which cars cannot travel very fast anyway!) This makes it ideal for writers who need to refresh their batteries before sitting with laptop or paper again. I can give you maps and guidelines. A little further afield and you reach Croagh Patrick, our holy mountain and a coastline on which there is a beach every few miles. You can head for Leenane, the Killary and Connemara, our back garden. Cycling is very popular especially the Greenway to Achill and bikes can be hired from Westport Town. We are situated just 3 miles from Westport with all its’ tourist amenities, art and craft shops and music most nights of the week.
  • Just the kindest people, a perfect Irish welcome. Rósín is there when you need her, but also gives you the space and privacy you need as well. The cabin is very cute, and cozy even when it rains and blusters outside. There is an especially beautiful walk just out the door and I was allowed to borrow the dog for company which made it even better. Westport is of course a lovely town with anything you might need.

  • We had a super time in the cabin! Very cosy and surrounded by nature , yet close to Westport town . Roisin was an attentive host who responded very quickly with all our queries. Happy to recommend the old rectory !

  • Roisins cabin is perfect for a couple or like me I stayed on my own to attend a wedding just down the road in Westport. Roisin although sadly I didn't get to meet her in person due to the busy schedule of my weekend was very attentive in checking if there was anything I needed. I recommend highly to anyone visiting Westport or the surrounding area.

  • Writers Cottage is very cosy and private. It is small. Perfect for a couple. It is very well equipped & has everything you need for a long w/e stay! This is a beautiful small cottage built in the traditional style on the Wild Atlantic Way just 1.5 km from Letterfrack Village and the centre of the stunning Connemara National Park. The sea is just 300m away and the house is private and set among trees.
It is located at the heart of North West Connemara within 1.5km of the Connemara National Park (Walks are currently open March 2020 but not visitor centre) and 6km from Kylemore Abbey. Also within walking distance of Rosleague Manor for food and bar. The fields next door have wonderful panoramic view of the Diamond and the Kylemore valley as well as Ballinakill Bay for you to enjoy. The area is littered with remote beaches of golden sand and turquoise seas to swim or kayak in. The house is close to mountains and hills with views over bogs and lakes. We would love to share it with you.
Letterfrack is a lively village often with music at weekends and plenty to do both in the pubs and outside. We are spoiled here with the most beautiful scenery. Deserted beaches views of The Twelve Bens Mountain range and the Wild Atlantic Ocean. There is little light pollution and we havedark skies with thousands of stars - make sure to go outside on a clear night the Sky looks 3 dimensional.
  • Fantastic accommodation fantastic location.. highly recommended.

We offer a cosy, bright, private studio apartment for a maximum of one couple. Located at one end of the house on a quiet country road, we are approximately 3k from Letterfrack village and Connemara National Park. Adjacent to both the sea and the Twelve Bens mountain range, this is a beautiful situation with an abundance of activities available nearby and plenty of restaurants. We live on a small holding which includes 5 rescue dogs and small livestock which are loose to roam around the site.
  • Patricia’s place is pristine. It was clean, there was a kitchen, sitting room, books about the Celts on the shelves, breakfast was delicious - pancakes and skyr plus a fruit basket waiting for me as well. The location is beautiful as well. Would highly recommend!

  • Patricia’s home is incredibly relaxing and cozy. The room was bigger than expected, the bed very comfortable. Her sweet black kitty kept us company. Directions were clear. An excellent stay.

    Maggie2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Cute little house near Conemara National Park. The views from the place are beautiful, and we loved all the animals. The little black cat was such a sweetheart. Wish we could have stayed longer, definitely recommend.

    Tim2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Patricia’s apartment is a fantastic retreat in the middle of the Connemara countryside. If you are a lover of animals this is the place for you. Dogs, ducks, chickens, and a pig were all there to greet us in the morning. It was the little touches that made it really special. Thank you again Patricia for one of our most memorable nights on our tour so far.

    Tom2019-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • This trip was simply magical! That's all we dreamed of when we went to Connemara ... friendliness, scenery, a host of great kindness and invaluable help with logistics and advice! The house is perfect, the animals are lovely, Patricia is really exceptional! Only happiness. Our only regret: staying only one night. Lovers of nature and real life, we strongly recommend !!!!

    Eloi2019-09-04T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay. Not easy to find in the dark but worth the journey. Patricia did rescue me though on an exceptionally rainy night!

    Alexis2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place is brilliant - a large double bedroom, en-suite with shower, living room with sofa and breakfast table, and a kitchen. Patricia had left us some fresh eggs, jam and bread for the morning and we also met all the animals (dogs, chickens, turkeys, cats and the pig) which made the stay really lovely. The views are incredible and there are some nice places to eat a very short drive away. Would recommend!!

My house is a family home, it is there for is not pristine like a hotel room, or bleached clean to within an inch of its life. Saying this you can see from the picture I keep the place tidy and I will always clean before guests arrive and make sure the beds have fresh linen. There is a good amount of out door space, the garden is not manicured but is very accessible. There is an area for a fire pit guests are welcome to use if sitting out in the evening.
The house is in a very quiet rural location. It is on a walking route from ballintubbler Abby to croagh Patrick.
The road I live down is a single track road I live in quite a wooded area.
  • Great location, very quiet and only minutes drive from Westport, beautiful holiday spot. highly recommend and will definetely come back again!

The Old School House & Potters Cottage was originally built in 1838. Completed in May 2018 The Potters Cottage was once the Schools turf shed & then redeveloped into The Connemara Pottery Workshop. It's 1200m to Clifden, 15 min stroll to the pub. 2 min walk to the Connemara Rugby Club, 5 min walk to the Greenway, as well as a 10 min drive to Ballyconneely. Great for scenic walks, beaches, golf, rugby, painting, fishing, running and cycling with direct access onto the cycle lanes. NO WiFi.
Great for couples and single travelers, spacious cottage with a cosy wood burner, flat screen TV and all your home essentials. The bedroom hosts a King size bed and all of the rooms are newly designed and decorated to a high standard. There is an oldly worldly feel to the decor and we have tried to keep the traditional Irish Cottage feel throughout. We supply your first basket of fuel for the wood burner and for guests staying 5 nights or longer we offer an Irish Gift basket to welcome you to our little hideaway. There are no laundry facilities in the house, however we do offer a laundry service (wash & dry for €10 per load), for guests staying 5 nights or longer we will come in half way through your stay (obviously whilst you are out) to clean, change bed linen, replenish towels and launder clothing free of charge. We look to make your stay with us as hassle free as possible and your time in Connemara as enjoyable as possible. We live on site and are always available to help. We offer free parking and should you choose to walk into Clifden Town, which is a 10-15 minute stroll away on a well lit road.
A 5 minute walk to the Greenway, The Salt Lake and a couple of minutes walk to the Connemara All Blacks Rugby Club. 15 minutes stroll to your first pub, Mannions. The Connemara National Park in Letterfrack is a 20 minute drive from the cottages. The road from the house to Clifden is fully lit and paved so there is no need to worry about having to walk up narrow unpaved or unlit boreens. Here, and in near by Maam Valley are the settings for such films as the Field and John Ford's classic, The Quiet Man.

  • This cottage is an amazing find. Surrounded by lakes, mountains, and sheep farms, it's the quintessential Irish countryside experience! It's a beautiful cottage, the host (Patrick) is super friendly (we ran into him nearby while exploring the area), and the scenery around the cottage is absolutely stunning! It's also very secluded, requiring a ~1 km drive down a single-lane gravel road, which is great for getting out of town for a peaceful stay in the countryside. The cabin is perfect for a family or two couples. There's one bedroom, and the living room can function as a second bedroom (with a door). We were there during a torrential, gusty rain storm, and the cozy cottage with its heated floors in the bathroom and kitchen was a welcome reprieve from the elements.

    Jessica2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • This cozy cottage is nestled in a breathtaking set of mountains. It’s set on the bank of a gorgeous lake and dotted with funny sheep. You could take a day in itself to just explore the grounds. The surrounding towns offer authentic irish pub experiences, not to mention the close proximity of Kennymore Abbey. Fairy tail-like. The cabin was super cozy. We spent the last two days of our honeymoon there and took a trip out to the cliffs. Can’t say enough about the space. Highly recommend!

  • My partner and I had a lovely time at Patrick's cottage. The location is simply stunning for anyone who would like to experience Connemara. The cottage is stylish and very cosy, something we appreciated after a long day out exploring. Self check-in is very handy and you will have all the necessary amenities. This is the first time I'm looking forward to come back to an Airbnb home. Thanks for everything!

Kylemore: Irelands most visited tourist attraction – Set in the dramatic Connemara landscape, Kylemore Abbey is the no. 1 “must-see” attraction in the west of Ireland. The castle was originally built by Mitchell Henry in 1867 as a romantic gift for his beloved wife. In 1920 the Benedictine Community came to Kylemore and Kylemore castle became Kylemore Abbey. The 1000 Kylemore estate is steeped in history with tales of tragedy and romance, engineering initiatives, model farms, royal visits, spirituality and education. Visit the estate and experience the Victorian atmosphere of the restored rooms of the Abbey, miniature Gothic Church and Head Gardener’s House. There are many nature trails, woodland and lakeshore walks and a children’s play trail waiting to be discovered. Explore the magical 6 acre Victorian walled garden where onyx Victorian verities of flowers and vegetables. Letterfrack: Letterfrack is a quaint small village set in the heart of Connemara in direct vicinity to some of Connemara’s main attractions. It is easily accessible from the capital of Clifden which is just a short ten minute drive away. Letterfrack is located at the foot of the Connemara National Park which creates a sense of atmosphere. There are 3 pubs, a grocery shop, hair-dresser and takeaway in Letterfrack Village. Veldons Seafarer, Cloverfox and The Lodge serve delicious food throughout the day and in the evening time. Don’t forget to make a trip to Avoca! Situated just outside Letterfrack village! For less experienced walkers and families, the Diamond Hill Trail in the Connemara National Park is well sign-posted and highly accessible and those who make it to the top are rewarded with expansive panoramic vistas across Connemara. There are four trails in Connemara National Park. A must when you visit Connemara. There is also a lovely on-site coffee shop and great playground.

We had an amazing time, there is an endless amount of things to do and Tricia gave great local tips too about where to go including local wood walks. James2019-04-30T00:00:00Z
  • The only thing that could’ve made our stay at Anna’s better is if we would’ve stayed there throughout our whole visit to Ireland! The scenery was incredible and the apartment was cozy. It was also very nice to have a washer and dryer being this close to the end of our trip! Anna left amazing scones for us and they were great for breakfast the next morning! I would recommend staying at Anna’s to everyone and hope to return myself in the future!

  • My wife and I spent 2 days at Anna’s place, and it was an amazing experience! Super clean and beautiful apartment, breathtaking nature views and very soulful kind hosts who are ready to help with anything. We see that some guests complain about fact that the electricity is managed by a separate meter, but overall is a nice experience that brings you closer to the eco-friendly atmosphere of Ireland. Thank you for such a nice experience in Connemara!

    Pedro2018-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful quiet, little cottage at the sea. Everything you need and more. Anna was on hand if we needed anything and was very helpful. Would love to come back and stay for a week.

    Debbie2018-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful apartment with a gorgeous view and close to a lovely beach. We loved our stay! We were a bit taken off guard by the presence of a meter that only accepted 1 or 2 euro coins for electricity - so when you arrive, come prepared with a bit of change so you can use the amenities!

A simple cosy caravan in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The accommodation is very private and the sounds in the summertime include the cuckoo and lambs in the nearby mountains. You are located at the shore of Lough na Fooey a very safe lake for a morning dip. Nearby attractions are Clonbur, Cong and Leenane. Its a walker's paradise where you may choose to enjoy the outdoors and marvel at the stunning scenery. We'd love you to come and see for yourselves!
The entire space is your own unless you wish to bring friends who can pick a spot for wild camping.
Nearby attractions include Leenane, Comamara National Park, Cong and Westport.
  • Absolutely wish we were still there! We had an amazing time staying at the caravan on Lough na Fooey. Absolutely perfect if you are desperate to get away from it all, relax and have some peace and quiet. The isolated location and lake are beautiful and the hosts go above and beyond with local recommendations and suggestions. The caravan is simple but very clean, and it's just a lovely place to relax when evening comes. One evening after paddling out into the lake we lit a fire outside, enjoying a glass of wine or two and sat relaxing as the sun went done across the mountains! We will most certainly be coming back!

  • The Caravan at Loughnafooey is the perfect place to go for some peace. The surroundings are breathtaking. The caravan is nestled amongst mature trees and beside a beautiful lake. We enjoyed cooking on the fire, walking and swimming there. The caravan was clean and cosy and had everything we needed. Padraig and his family were helpful and friendly and told us all we needed to know for our stay.

    Elaine2019-07-28T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking for some peace and quiet surrounded by beautiful views in every direction you look, this is the spot. In a private location, with views of wall to wall mountains and access to a beautiful lake of you're brave enough for a swim! We were delighted from the minute we arrived and honestly didn't want to leave the place. Padraig and his family are great hosts and there for anything you need. The caravan is clean and tidy with amenities to cook and a fridge supplied to keep the beers cold! The attachment at the front provided great space for us to chill in at night time and with the option of a wee campfire to have a few drinks around at night, this place really is magical. The caravan is also a fantastic place to explore the surrounding area of Joyce Country from, everything from quaint villages, mountains, valleys and waterfalls are all within an hours drive! We will definitely be back again in the future and loved every minute of our stay!

Tea and coffee available and very good Irish breakfast in the morning. As we were cycling and the weather was raining, Eileen's husband kindly took us to the restaurant by car and then picked us up. We appreciated this attention and highly recommend this accommodation.

Located on The Town Square our newly renovated studio dating back to 1838 enjoys a southerly aspect and direct access to a private terraced patio with BBQ and original stone steps lead to the garden which has great views of Clifden Harbour. On our doorstep there are many bars, restaurants and shops. This apt is a real home from home where one can cook in the kitchen and sit by our solid fuel stove. We have a cast iron bath and an overhead electric shower where one can soak after a days touring
The location is superb. The Studio is just a short stroll from all the pubs, restaurants and shops in town. Clifden, situated on the Wild Atlantic way has much to offer.

    Fergal2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Nice studio, right in the city center (all pubs / restaurants within easy reach). Possibility of making a fire in the stove by buying the fuel (even if we did not take advantage of it) We did not see Sinead, but the indications were very clear, and the booklet it leaves to the tenants, gives all the necessary recommendations for what to eat / drink / visit in the corners. We recommend !

    Nicolas2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Sinead’s studio is a lovely little retreat and is very well equipped for both a short or long stay. It is perfectly located with a great choice of pubs and restaurants. Sinead is a great host and Clifden is a very friendly place, both Tom Kings pub and the restaurant ‘Off the square’ deserve a special mention. I would not hesitate to recommend and hope to return soon.

  • Lovely little comfy space in Clifden, great base for exploring Conemarra and well placed in the town to enjoy local hospitality. Despite being so centrally located, the apartment was also really quiet. Great facilities for cooking etc. too.

    Becca2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay here! Sinead is wonderful to deal with and her studio has everything you need. Well thought out, great little balcony and it was pet friendly meaning I could bring my little jack Russell with us. It’s a warm, cosy unit with more amenities than expected (washing machine, dryer, lovely electrical shower, full kitchen, cosy bed). Located in the town centre- 30 seconds from everything. The locals in Cliften are warm and welcoming. We felt a weekend was not long enough and look forward to getting back. Sinead was wonderful to communicate with. All our needs were met 100%. Couldn’t recommend this place enough!

  • This is the perfect place to stay for exploring Clifden. Right in the middle of the town but once you are inside you wouldn't even think it. In my partner's word it is very cute. The folder provided on the table has some great options for things to do and places to eat which we made use of. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again in future.

  • We felt very welcome here. The room is a steal. The soaking tub was wonderful, though the color of the bog water was a bit disturbing. The sound of the elevator wasn’t bothersome at all. Roger, the champagne hour host and bartender, was entertaining and gregarious. The piano bar was delightful and we met many locals there. This stay was one of the highlights of our trip.

    Elaine2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent accommodation and hospitality. Highly recommend to other travelers.

    Sarah2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • I would recommend everyone spends at least one night in a castle. This one was over the top with the 2 who run it. Thank you for your time and extremely nice extra touches. The history and reception when we came in added to the interest and wonder of this place. The great breakfast the next morning started out day off great.

Oystercatcher Cottage is situated in a stunning seaside location enjoying panoramic views over the Atlantic Ocean. It is an old cottage which has been renovated over the years while still maintaining it's rustic charm. It's location, in one of the most scenic spots along the Wild Atlantic Way in Connemara, is simply breathtaking. Please note there is no Wifi - it's a real "get away from it all" location.
It is a small traditional cottage with an outside decking area overlooking the sea, a good sized garden, patio area and shed. The inside space comprises a kitchen/dining area, cosy sitting room and bathroom on the ground floor. There are 2 bedrooms upstairs which are accessed by a wooden ladder as seen in the photos (please note this may not be suitable for young children or elderly/infirm adults – look at the photos to decide whether it is suitable for you and your group). There is one bedroom with a king-size bed and another bedroom with 2 single beds, sleeping 4 people in total. The door from the kitchen leads out to the decking area from which you can enjoy fabulous sea views. If you're lucky you might even catch sight of dolphins passing by. In the summer months you can see beautiful sunsets over the sea. The cottage combines many traditional features with modern conveniences including a multi-fuel stove, electric heating, hot water and a small but fully equipped kitchen with electric cooker, fridge, dishwasher, microwave and everything you need to cook your own meals. For entertainment there is a TV, Xbox, dvds, games and books. There is a washing machine and clothes dryer in the adjacent shed, along with a BBQ and outdoor furniture for your use. Depending on the weather, the cottage can be a calm and idyllic place; a real paradise, or wild and windswept as it sits on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. Either way it's a special place to be. It's particularly suitable for couples looking for a romantic getaway or small groups of friends/family who want to experience the raw beauty of the West of Ireland. The name 'Oystercatcher Cottage' comes from the sea birds often seen and heard on the shore below.
Oystercatcher Cottage is situated in Mullaghgloss on the Renvyle peninsula on the famous Wild Atlantic Way driving route. The cottage is close to many stunning beaches - Lettergesh is the closest at just 2km away. The cottage has views to the mouth of Killary Harbour and across the bay to Co. Mayo in the distance. The village of Tullycross is 2.5k away where you'll find bars serving food including the award-winning Paddy Coynes Pub. The entrance to Connemara National Park is just 7km away in Letterfrack village. The walk to the top of Diamond Hill in the park is well worth the effort. In Letterfrack village you will find a supermarket and more bars which serve food. Kylemore Abbey & Gardens and the town of Clifden are also within easy driving distance.
  • This is just a great place to stay. To come home to after a day of hiking or to stay in and look out at the ocean when the weather is bad - it's just gorgeous. Listening to the sea at night, and waking up to it is wonderful. The cottage has everything you need for proper self-catering cooking, and it have books, DVDs and board games too. The mattress in the double bed is really good and seems new. The personal touches as well as the newly fitted oven/hob, fridge and dishwasher make this a lovely old school cottage with mod cons! Great strong shower too. Check in was a breeze, and communication was great. Definitely come and stay here.

  • Sensational location, really cute cottage, stylish and cosy, fabulous beaches and scenery, great pub nearby. We loved it!

    Sarah2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • A truly wonderful place, I highly recommend it to anyone! The cottage is in a perfect location with amazing views, we visited in winter and loved lighting the wood/peat burner each evening. Such a cosy place to stay in a beautiful part of the world.

  • Amazing spot. Breathtaking views. Unique and cosy setting.

    Glen2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Where to start... f a b u l o u s location, and such a cozy, well-equipped and nicely styled cottage. The view is out of this world. Was lucky enough to have a morning coffee out on the deck in the middle of winter. The bed was very comfy. Lovely owners, great communication. Can’t wait to return in summer one day!

    Melanie2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful spot and a really well-appointed cottage nestled on the coast. We loved it and would happily go back.

    Niall2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • This place is s gem - a find. The cottage is so tastefully decorated. It’s also quirky - it’s location is sublime, set just above a cliff overlooking the Atlantic just south of Killary Harbour at the mouth of Clew Bay. The beaches are spectacular and the views of the Islands and mountains are off the scale for beauty. There is a wonderfully comforting feel to the place - it’s been a very happy home, you can tell.

    Rosaleen2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • A gem of a cottage, simple but perfectly formed and the most breathtaking views out over the sea. We visited around late October so the weather wasnt great but it didnt matter. Windswept beach walks, cosy wood burning stove and books to read. Heaven. We felt very lucky to stay there.

  • A must stop on your trip to Ireland. Abbeyglen Castle has a charm all its own made even more spectacular by the staff that is there to spoil you. Included in your stay is afternoon tea and biscuits along with a 6:30 champagne reception (more than one glass too!). Includes light appetizers while they tell you about the history of the place and what to do and see in Connemara county. The story telling is fantastic. After, you go up stairs to dinner for a delicious four courses (49 E.U. pp) or al la carte (based on menu prices). They take your picture during dinner and give that to you as a gift via their complements. It is not your normal hotel food. It is exquisitely paired. Good wine list. Highly recommend the fish chowder, beef or duck. Best ending is a table full of homemade deserts and cheeses. But the night is not over, back down to the bar for an interactive piano bar where you can sing the night away to Irish and top hit piano tunes. In the morning they have more like a brunch for breakfast with so many options to choose from included in your room price. The staff remembers who you are and if you are celebrating an event throughout your stay which is very nice. For groups they have a wonderful sitting room to enjoy. There are several fireplaces throughout. Enjoy a walking path, helicopters pads, and tennis court. The room itself is as pictured in an almost an “attic” or “dormer” area in the castle. There are stairs (one to two steps) up and down to it. It is a small room, but so quaint. The bed was the best bed we had in Ireland with wonderful sheets. The bathroom decent but the tub may be a challenge to climb in and out as they have a step stool and bars to help you. They include water (still and sparkling) along with all the amenities. There are plenty of towels and extras. It was a wonderful day/night here. Our only regret is we didn’t book for longer. A must on your list for Ireland. Next time we will stay a full two days to really enjoy!

  • Brian upgraded us from the economy room to a regular room when he realized that we wouldn’t get any sleep right up the staircase due to a party downstairs. We were able to get a restful night’s sleep and to recover from an ankle injury. We participated in the afternoon and evening gatherings and learned about the Clifden area. The included breakfast was delicious and the staff was top notch. The hotel and grounds were immaculate and the surrounding area was breathtaking. I would stay here again without reservations.

  • This was a highlight of our honeymoon! Drinks and live music at the bar in the evening was a wonderful end to our travels that day. Hopefully when we visit Ireland in the future we can stay for longer here.

  • Smaller, cheap room in a four-star hotel that exudes grandeur. Very welcoming reception, library, afternoon tea with scones and later a glass of bubbles: you are an ordinary guest - only in the old driver's rooms. A bit noisy here and there, but otherwise: recommended!

    Ferdi2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • An incredible atmosphere in the castle . So warm and welcoming. The room is small but an enormously comfy bed, and delighted to see there was a bath. A very, very cosey stay

    Vicky2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • The room is tiny but delightful and very tasteful. The shower was huge and exactly what I wanted. Do not miss an opportunity to stay in this enchanting castle.

    Peter2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • This was an extremely nice hotel with upscale furnishings and finishes. This room is one of the smallest rooms beneath the nicer rooms but still allows for guests to explore a beautiful castle and experience the amenities on a budget!
