  • Cozy sleeping areas, beautiful kitchen, lively living space, and professionally crafted shower room, this Airbnb truly has it all. Nestled into the hills of the driftless, Readstown boasts superior trout fisheries and a surplus of public lands. Close to canoe rentals, Kickapoo River boat access, and the Kickapoo Valley Reserve, the church offers a centralized location to experience all the wonders of Wisconsin's driftless area. The interior of the church has been remodeled into a fully functioning vacation home that exceeds all expectations. Whether your interests lie in brown trout or black Kickapoo Coffee, I highly recommend staying here.

  • This place is so cute and was full of nice amenities. There were several places to sleep which worked well for our group. We were able to hang out and play pool. It is walking distance to a few local bars, too. It was very convenient for us to go to an event in the Kickapoo Valley Reserve, only about a 20 minute drive. Would love to take advantage of the great hiking trails and canoeing nearby. I will definitely book again!

  • Perfect, quiet getaway. We enjoyed having our three dogs along, visiting local flea markets, and hiking at the Kickapoo nature trails nearby. The location was beautiful and secluded. Our favorite part of the cabin was the amazing deck with a view! Lots of space for the two of us and 3 dogs, and definitely enough space for a bigger family. Loved seeing the deer in the driveway one morning!

    Nicholas2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic cabin and location for our family! We enjoyed the scenery and wildlife (deer, possum, birds, and the neighbor dogs), and our kids had fun playing down by the creek. The freshly fallen snow made for a breathtaking view the morning we left. We hiked and explored the Kickapoo Valley Reserve, cross-country skied at Wildcat Mountain State Park, went on a sleigh ride at Three Witches Farm, and explored the town of Viroqua a bit. Greg and Lindsey were excellent hosts, and we have every intention to return!

    Jason2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is the perfect winter escape. Stunning landscape paired with serene quiet. Whether you want to hunker down and get snowed in, or use it as a launchpad to explore the Driftless region you'll be happy you stayed here. On the scale of rustic to modern, this place leans towards the moden end of the scale, with electric forced air hear/AC, fast internet/phone connection, and electric stove/oven. The kitchen is pretty basic, so if you like to cook consider bringing your favorite cookware with you if you need anything besides a basic skillet and medium sized saucepan. A sharp chef's knife would also be wise if you'll need to do chopping/cutting. We had the absolute best week and our dog loved roaming the hillside with free reign. We'll definitely be back!

    Daniel2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Our first Airbnb stay and a great experience. Wonderful home with everything you need and the location is just perfect. The location in the heart of the driftless area of Wisconsin is a must see. Loved our stay in the winter because you can see forever into the woods, endless beauty. We plan to return to experience a summer here.

    Phil2020-01-08T00:00:00Z
  • My friends and I really enjoyed our stay. Location to town was good. We spent most of our time cooking, playing board games and watching movies, and enjoyed having the fire going the whole time. There was plenty of wood available, and the cooking space was perfectly adequate. Even though we brought our own, there were plenty of entertainment options inside the house and would've been enough. The space was clean and well appointed.

    Charlie2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful cabin. Good common space to hang out, great property to explore.

    Connor2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • This wonderful cabin is exactly as promised. The upstairs loft space is gorgeous. Both ends of the catwalk with two double beds each...a private bedroom on the main floor...and a basement that served (for us) as another bedroom suite. Our 10 slept comfortably. The outdoor space was beautiful, remote, and exceeded our every expectation. Greg was fantastic with the communication and check-in was super easy. LOVE...LOVE... this place!

  • The lower level space at Kent and Linda's home was marvelous and everything I needed for my home away from home in the Kickapoo Valley. It is located just outside Readstown, on top of one of the hills. It is really peaceful up there, and I look forward to returning to experience the other seasons. Linda and Kent are excellent hosts, providing just the right amount of attention and space, and thoroughly enjoyed learning about them and their 3 "kids" when we got together to chat on Saturday. They clearly enjoy their role as hosts!! I am a big fan of this area of Wisconsin, and look forward to many future return visits with them!!

    Bob2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Helpful hosts with all the answers!

    Becky2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Kent and Linda's place is outstanding and in an absolutely gorgeous setting in the Driftless area! It is well furnished with just what you might need for a night or two! It is close enough to Viroqua that if you have an event or meeting in town it is no problem getting back and forth. They were also great hosts- they met us when we arrived and when we left and we knew they were available if we needed anything.

    Jackie2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • I wouldn't hesitate to stay again at Kent and Linda's. The space is private (you have your own entrance), ample, comfortable, amenities are great (ping pong table wins me over every time). They were always very flexible and accommodating.

    Kevin2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great location up in the hill country. Nice little downstairs accommodations with a living room, bath, and separate bedroom. It is out of the way so if you are a coffee drinker, bring your own cream and sugar! If you're looking for a nice place off the beaten path be sure to give this place a look. Great location if you're going to take in the fall colors and want to make the trek to Soldiers Grove area for the apple harvest.

    Rick2019-10-20T00:00:00Z

With its modern, Scandinavian-inspired interior, our cabin offers a peaceful retreat away from the busyness of life, nestled comfortably in the woods.  The 75 acres of ridge top hardwood forest feel even larger due to 300 acres of state land on 3 sides and views of the trout streams below.  You’ll be amazed at the remote wilderness feel of this property so close to the fabulous food and shopping of Viroqua and the larger Driftless region.
You’ll find a clean, light-filled interior, memory foam mattress with down bedding, handmade concrete counters, built in appliances and a heated bathroom fan to warm you after showering in the tile and glass shower.  Cuddle up with our throws in front of the Norwegian wood burning stove.  (We’ve already chopped and dried the wood for you.) This is the twinkling, winter wonderland setting for hygge (Scandinavian coziness and warmth). Other details -- A refrigerator, cooktop, dishwasher and microwave are located in the kitchen, and a European style washer/dryer in the bath. Dishes, cooking supplies and a coffee maker / grinder are available. There is a private bedroom with a queen size bed on the first floor, and a loft with both a queen and twin bed. The large screened in porch is accessible via the side door and has additional seating. High speed internet is available for your laptop and phone. There is no TV in the cabin. Bed linens, towels and extra blankets are provided. We love our canine friends, and your dog is welcome and will enjoy walking on the trails.
We are located on a wooded 75 acre property surrounded by 300 acres of protected public land with two Wisconsin DNR Class 1 trout streams (Tainter and Mcgraw creeks), filled with Brook and Brown trout. We have over a mile of hiking trails on the property for hiking, biking or snowshoeing. The cabin is at the top of a steep private drive, 1/2 mile from the public road (Tainter Road). We have two other cabins further down the drive on our property, approximately 1/2 mile away that are not visible. Expect it to be very quiet, and very dark with views of the stars at night. Our closest neighbor is a mile away.

  • This is a very stylish and quiet little spot located just walking distance (well, at least in warm weather) from the town of Viroqua. I found it very clean and cozy; it was -18 degrees chill temperature the first night I was there and I was still warm and happy inside the space. It is surprisingly roomy, with a very comfortable bed and a well-appointed kitchen. One very cool thing is that, from the dining table, one has a huge picture window view out to the neighboring farms and fields. Everything in the space worked correctly, from Internet access to hot water to appliances. The host provided good directions to the spot, which was also very much appreciated. I would have absolutely no hesitations about staying there again and, in fact, if I am lucky enough to come back to Viroqua soon, I'll check here first in hopes that they'll have me back.

  • My boyfriend and I stayed in the "Amish Cabin" at this location. Mindy was very quick to respond to the messages I sent her, and when we decided to stay an extra night at the last minute, she had no problem accommodating us! The cabin was just what we needed. Quiet, quaint, and VERY clean. I highly recommend this cabin and anything that Anthony and Mindy host! We will be back in the very near future.

  • Great place to stay. Clean. Quick response time. Bit noisy-doesn't have that relaxing feel as much due to traffic whizzing by but great for sleeping. Loved the river right out the back door.

  • What a cute, cozy, and clean little cabin! It had everything you needed for a nice and simple getaway! If you are looking for an outdoorsy stay somewhere that is close to everything too this is the spot! I cannot wait to come back and stay again!

  • If you're looking for a quick easy weekend getaway look no further. The cabin is adorable and spacious for 2 people. The bed was unbelievably comfortable as well! Beautiful views, amazing canoe trip down the Kickapoo River. Anthony and Mindy responded to every question I had within minutes which was super helpful! I can personally say I would rent this cabin or others on the property again in a heartbeat.

    Tyler2018-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • Cute cabin and very well stocked! Pleasant canoe trip with prompt livery service. Beautiful area to explore. Had a nice relaxing extended weekend.

  • Great location, great atmosphere, great time.

  • Anthony & Mindy's cabin very comfortably accommodated our extended family of 15 for a hot and humid week in July (AC units kept up nicely). The cabin is situated just outside a small town in the beautiful "Driftless" Region of Wisconsin. The large main area of the kitchen, dining room and two family rooms felt spacious for our large family. On one of the cooler evenings we enjoyed a nice family campfire--would have done that more often if the temperatures had been cooler. Highly recommend the value of renting this house for large family. (Note on lack of WiFi: If you have an AT&T (LTE) cellular data plan for your smart phone--the WAN coverage (signal strength) at the cabin is surprisingly good! Verizon Wireless, not as much.)

  • Great place for bigger groups (8-13). The separate sleep spots make it great for a guys or girls long, getaway weekend. Its convenient to canoe/kayaking on Kickapoo in State Park and the Wisconsin from Boscobel. Also, the music festival I. Viroqua is awesome.

    John2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Really felt like a genuine camping experience, but had all the amenities to keep you from getting bored. It has 2 showers which is nice for large groups. There are friendly goats which was a fun surprise. Overall a fun experience, a little less secluded than I was expecting but once we got comfortable it didnt feel too exposed. It is a beautiful area with hills covered in forest.

Located *truly* steps away from everything on bustling Main Street, Viroqua, make yourself at home in our sunny one bedroom apartment. In the morning feel free brew yourself locally roasted Kickapoo Coffee or grab a vintage basket and stroll down to the local farmers market. In case you'd like to eat out, you're conveniently located within two blocks of several different hot spots in our sweet town. (Our favorites are Driftless Cafe, Tangled Hickory & Kickapoo Coffee Cafe.)
We recently poured love into this space in a 100 year old building in hopes that other people might be able to enjoy the charm and location as much as we have. With a full kitchen, living room, bedroom with a queen bed, (and separate cot if needed), we hope it will provide everything you'll need for a fantastic stay in town.
Centrally located directly on Main Street, you will steps away from any and all things offered in Viroqua. Want to grab dinner at Driftless Cafe then catch a show at the Historic Temple Theater? You're within one block of all of it. If you'd prefer to stay inside and wrap up with a good book and a blanket, you're still set back enough off of Main Street to have a beautifully quiet evening.
  • Such a sweet charming space with a prime location in downtown Viroqua. You are steps away from all the best spots in town! Thank you for the outstanding hospitality ❤️

    Lauren2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • This charming apartment is the perfect home base to investigate Viroqua and the beautiful driftless area.

  • So cozy you won't want to go home.

  • What a hidden gem! The space was very clean and thoughtfully appointed. It was such a sweet little stay. Karlee is a perfect host and we will definitely be back!

    Holly2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful space! This apartment could not be more convenient to town and yet was very quiet. The hosts were also incredibly communicative and helpful. I would highly recommend.

    Lissy2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • This little spot is SO wonderful. I took myself to Viroqua for a solo overnight trip and this sunny, well-appointed space was just the ticket. Such a convenient location — steps away from Driftless Cafe and Kickapoo Coffee, a short walk to the co-op. Comfortable bed, clean bathroom that’s stocked with everything you’d need, and a fully-equipped kitchen. I can’t wait to come back here and bring my husband — thank you to Karlee for having such a lovely place to stay! ❤️

    Melissa2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • WOW! I enjoyed this so much, I am tempted to keep it to myself. In fact, I have already booked a return trip. Historic, newly renovated, apartment smack-dab in the middle of downtown Viroqua. Excellent, bright natural light from big windows. Quiet, comfortable, clean, and cozy (Viroqua hit negative 15 degrees and received 1/2 a foot of snow during my stay).

    Edred2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The apartment is above a commercial store on a main Street but is the second one from the front of the building. As such, not much of a view from the windows but the upside is a lovely, quiet place to sleep. Bedding and towels are lovely, soft, and fresh. Comfortable bed. Coffee available.

Sittin Pretty Tiny House is perched up on Dach Ridge six miles out of Viroqua just off County NN offering lovely views across neighboring fields toward the western horizon. Surrounding woods with a walking trail give an intimate sense of the natural world. You are in the heart of Amish country and the goings and comings of their agrarian lives give a sense of another time. 1/4 mile walk down the road, at the nearest Amish neighbor, you can buy produce in season and eggs.
The tiny home is just that: Tiny! 300 sq ft! However, lofty 10' ceilings and many windows give a spacious and sunny feeling upon stepping in. You'll have a snug feeling when climbing up the stairs to go to queen sized bed in the loft with only a 3' ceiling. Surrounded by windows on three sides, you'll have a good look out! The interior is covered in birch plywood, with walnut live edge shelving and custom made concrete kitchen counter and bathroom sink. The spacious shower is beautifully tiled with a marble floor. A well furnished kitchen includes a convection oven, five burner gas stove top, pots and pans, silverware, utensils, dishes, cups and bowls. Sittin Pretty Farm practices a caring stewardship so expect a clean and well cared for accommodations. We reuse things like dish sponges, drying dish towels. Remember we are in the country so we sometimes encounter the occasional mouse and certainly bugs and flies have their season!
Amish paradise! There are eleven neighboring Amish farms offering everything from maple syrup to leather boot repair! Remember to take care to look for their buggies on the road especially at night and low visibility conditions. Also as part of their beliefs, they request no photographs even from a distance. We are also only a 10 minute drive from Viroqua where there are coffee shops, acclaimed restaurants, vibrant down town shopping scene, a lovely art gallery, and Farmer's Markets on Saturdays and Wednesday nights in season. County highway NN is a popular touring bike route with many connecting highways that along with local mountain biking trails at Sidie Hollow and Hubbard Hills make the Driftless a premier biking spot. See Blue Dog Cycles in Viroqua for gear and info. Trout fishing streams are also within 15 minutes. With the Kickapoo Reserve and the Mississippi River about 40 minutes away.

Newly remodeled second floor apartment available in 2020. Great light with country feel right in Viroqua. Private outdoor entrance with deck. Keyless entry. Fully stocked kitchen. This is a wonderful place to get away and is available for longer stays. Pets are allowed but we do like to know about them.
Must be able to climb steps. Long-term rental below so house rules are important. Pets accepted with approval. Must be on a leash when on the property because long-term renter has older Corgi.
Viroqua is an amazing place for food, out-of-doors and unique shopping experience. Numerous opportunities for music and theatre as well.
  • Great location in Viroqua. Clean, comfortable and nicely furnished.

  • Sweet farm house feeling in a clean, bright, contemporary updated apartment. If you’re looking for a simple, clean place for a close-to-town experience, this is it. I stayed in the winter, but can imagine the upper deck would be very pleasant and private in a warm summer evening. I was there on business, a short stay, perfect for that purpose too.

    Lori2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • The yellow door apartment is a hidden gem if you are looking to stay in the Viroqua area. It's old charm mixed in with updates and cute decor make it a true home away from home. The entire place was immaculately clean, the host went out of her way to ensure we had a pleasant stay and was particularly communicative. Code entry was a breeze. Many small touches made it feel like home and the location of the property was within a half mile of downtown. We would definitely stay here again when in the Viroqua area!

Stay in comfort in our charming Farmhouse on a quiet, rustic ridge-top road outside Gays Mills, Wisconsin. We're located in Apple Country in the beautiful hills of the Driftless Area, also known as the Ocooch Mountains. The Farmhouse is nestled among trees on a quiet road. It has been recently remodeled, has a full kitchen and features works from local artists. You’ll be just 5 minutes from Gays Mills with a full grocery, natural foods co-op and many other amenities.
For your convenience, we have Wi-fi, two streaming services (Netflix and Amazon Prime), as well as a well-stocked DVD and CD Library. Outdoor seating is available on front and side porches, as well as in the yards, where you can enjoy singing birds, the wind blowing through the trees, the blue skies and the overwhelming quiet. A firepit is also available for sittin' around the campfire.
Our property is surrounded by open fields and winding roads -- perfect for early morning or late evening walk-abouts. For more of a workout, take a hike up and down the wooded ravines. Light pollution is nonexistent, so stargazing at the Milky Way is remarkable on cloudless nights! Sunsets AND sunrises are gorgeous. Nearby activities include canoeing or kayaking on the Kickapoo and Wisconsin Rivers, hiking on the Stump Dodger Trail and bike trails along the river valley or up in the Ocooch Mountains. There are fishing opportunities in the Kickapoo River as well as along high-quality trout streams. We’re less than 30 minutes from the vibrant community of Viroqua (and the increasingly popular Driftless Cafe) as well as the Mississippi and Wisconsin Rivers. Several fine restaurants are not far away !
  • This farmhouse is absolutely adorable and the location cannot be beat if you want an escape from the hustle and bustle. We will go back for sure!

  • Dana and Bob’s farmhouse is an absolute treasure. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable, the bathroom and kitchen were spotless, with thoughtful touches like homemade cookies, waffles and yogurt, coffee and an assortment of teas. Dana was very responsive to all of our questions about the house and surrounding area. We definitely recommend a stay at the farmhouse - you’ll be so happy you did!

    Julie2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • We are so thankful to have found Dana's little cabin for our anniversary weekend! It was absolutely perfect- quiet, cozy, and comfortable. We definitely appreciate the breakfast and the baked goods! The wood-burning fireplace was absolutely amazing :)

    Mackenzie2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • The farmhouse exceeded all of our expectations. It was cozy and every detail was thought of. Perfect relaxing getaway!

    Danielle2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • This farmhouse makes for the perfect weekend getaway or weeklong vacation spot. We enjoyed Dana’s baked goods and the records that were stocked in the farmhouse. The amenities are fantastic ( loved the heated floor in the bathroom) and the decor is spot on. The old wood stove was a blast to crank up on our chillier nights even though the gas stove was plenty to warm the house. Located just minutes away from main street in Gays Mills, you won’t find a better setup then Dana’s farmhouse.

    William2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • Great farmhouse with so much charm and personal touches like Dana’s homemade chocolate chip cookies and fresh eggs from their chickens. Rain or shine, this place is perfect for a weekend getaway or a nice retreat away from the real world. Nestled in the Driftless region, you cannot ask for a more picturesque location. Highly recommend staying here!!

    Michelle2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely charming. Great place to relax and enjoy the beautiful Driftless Area. Dana and Bob have provided everything you would ever need to enjoy this cozy farmhouse. You won’t be disappointed!

  • The farmhouse getaway just outside of Gays Mills with Bob & Dana is a hidden treasure! It is minutes away from some quaint rural towns and beautiful driftless valley scenery on the Kickapoo river. Bob and Dana were simply amazing hosts, and had very thorough instructions for the house in the entryway, as well as in-person guidance when needed. They really go the extra mile to make you feel totally at peace and at home. The farm fresh eggs, waffles, maple syrup, ground coffee, home-baked goods, and delicious juice really added to the experience of this quaint farmhouse BNB! You definitely owe it to yourselves to book a stay in this amazingly serene space :) - Shea

  • My whole extended family rented all 4 cabins from Anthony and Mindy. Everyone had a place to sleep (24 people) and it worked great. Anthony and Mindy were really easy to work with and communicated with us very timely. The cabins were clean, well stocked with the essentials to cook and entertain. The whole family spent most of the time at the big cabin and we had plenty of room to serve meals and relax. The whole property was beautifully located next to a creek and in a secluded valley. This part of the state is easily in the top five most beautiful locations in Wisconsin and Anthony and Mindy's cabins were a great place to stay while visiting.

    Michael2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Incredibly clean and in a good location! Close to some restaurants but still felt secluded. Cabin was perfect- beds were super comfy! Hosts were very responsive with questions before the trip.

    Liz2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • a wonderful little cabin conveniently located. Rustic and cozy - plan on doing much of your cooking on the grill outside, as there is not stove or range, just a hotplate. Owners made check-in easy. We would come back!

  • Leona's Cabin is a sweet little place. A true get-away cabin with extra heart. The place is filled with folk-art carvings (when you find the cat, look for the mouse) and beautiful architectural details in the woodwork. The bed is so comfy, I didn't want to leave. And there is a reading light on both sides of the bed. (Yay.) Hosts were very communicative by text and respected our privacy while there. It was very clean, bright and airy. Leona's place is easy to find, and centrally located in the beautiful Driftless Area. There is a full refrigerator, and hot water, though the kitchen is not what I'd call a cook's kitchen. Next time we come, we'll bring our tent-camping kitchen kit with knives, utensils, glassware and Coleman stove. Also, as AT&T subscribers, we couldn't get service west of Richland Center, so plan accordingly and bring old-school paper maps, just in case. Excellent hiking at Wildcat Mountain State Park. Old Settler's trail is challenging 2.5 hour hike, but there are easier trails. You must plan at least one meal at Driftless Cafe in Viroqua, and if you can, Friday drinks at Rooted Spoon, and breakfast at The Eatery (hash browns are made with love and NOT to be missed!) Also try to visit Sunrise Orchards just out of Gays Mills. It's your one stop for apple cider, caramel apples (Mmmmm), and all sorts of small batch jams, pies, cheese, fruit pies, Amish butter, Nordic maple butter, canned beets, mushrooms, salsa....and plenty of really sweet people. I can't wait to visit Leona's again. Thank you Anthony and Mindy!

    Bonnie2016-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Anthony & Mindy's cabin was so cozy and perfect for a weekend getaway out of the city. It had all the necessary amenities and even some unexpected extras such as coffee, a coffee maker, and card games. Everything exceeded our expectations. The hosts were very communicative and easy to work with. I would recommend Leona's cabin to anyone. Make sure you stop at the Kickapoo Corners restaurant down the street for breakfast - so delicious. We hope to return in the future!

  • This place was just as described and fit my bill perfectly. There would have been plenty of room for 4 people, and the shower was very nice. The location isn't around much but was in the area I needed, and having a restaurant downstairs was nice. I could not hear any noise from the bar, except the employee door opening/closing went they were taking out the trash or something. That was rather loud, but not annoying or anything.

If you are looking for a cozy, romantic house with a beautiful view, welcome to the Qi (che) House, an artistic home made of whole trees. On Dark nights, the stars and Milky Way wow viewers; hiking trails, tracked ski trails, single track dirt bike trails and road biking thru Amish Country is excellent; trout fishing in the spring is just being discovered (shhh). Wild life and especially birds make the Kickapoo Reserve special! And yes, the kitchen is ready for your cooking adventures.
The Qi house was designed by Roald Dahl who uses whole trees in his architecture. It is a birmed, 1000 sq. foot house, in the woods with lots of space around it. What makes this spot so special is that it is in the heart of the Driftless region, a most unique geological, old part of the country that missed a million years of glaciers. Hence it is also called the Coulee region. It is also in the heart of Amish country so very little traffic and so quiet!
It is isolated in the heart of the Driftless surrounded by 1000s of acres of woods. Vernon county has the largest number of organic farms in the country. There is a state park called Wildcat only 15 minutes away with additional trails and camping. It is a wildlife corridor.
  • “Wowww I love it!” You know a place is good when this was our first reaction upon entering. The white pine whole-trees really make for a comfortable and cozy cabin. The views are amazing as well and the large windows in the living room are perfect for it.

  • I couldn’t recommend Theresa’s place more! The view and the house itself was breathtaking! It was one of those spaces you walk into and automatically feel warm and welcomed! I went at the end of January and the way the sun hits the house you would’ve thought it was spring! The last morning I was there the sun positioned itself just right and shined on the porch perfectly. I was able to sit on the porch with a blanket and read while enjoying some coffee! This was a weekend I will not forget, thank you!

Enjoy a weekend off the grid in our rustic cabin on 30 acres of wooded serenity. Watch the sunset on the covered porch, or relax around a campfire. Feel free to explore the woods taking a hike on the network of trails. Nearby you can visit winery's, Wildcat Mountain State Park, the Kickapoo Valley Reserve and more. The driftless region is known for great fishing, scenic drives through the hills and biking. Contact us about additional camp sites on the property for larger groups.
The cabin is a small single room cabin with a sleeping loft, wrap around porch and out door privy.
The cabin is nesstled into the hills of the driftless region of Wisconsin. Surrounded by Amish farms and wooded pastures. The Kickapoo valley reserve is only 10 miles away offering horse trails, hiking canoeing and camping on the scenic river.
  • This was my first airbnb experience. My husband really enjoys the outdoors and I was looking for the perfect cabin to rent for us to getaway for his birthday. I wanted something with a decent driving distance from home (Green Bay, WI) that offered that outdoor and rustic feeling. Isaacs cabin was perfect. We have Verizon and there was little to no cell phone reception at the cabin which really helped us slow down and recharge from the hustle and bustle of our busy lives. We both work 50-60 hours a week and this trip was just what we needed. The cabin has no electricity or running water but Issac has it well stocked with all of the amenities you would need. The wood burning stove kept the cabin nice and warm and the backup propane heater was great for when we accidentally slept too long and didn't stoke the fire. The outhouse was clean and everything was well kept. The cabin is only a short drive from the State park with many options nearby to go hiking. My husband and I will definitely be back and this cabin is perfect for all Seasons.

  • This was exactly what we were looking for, the pictures do not do it justice. A great weekend getaway through a perfect host.

    Ryan2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic cabin! When I started my search I had the perfect cabin in mind - rustic, remote, well positioned and well provisioned - but thought I’d never find it. But Isaacs place was what we were hoping for and more! Issac is super responsive, thoughtful, and accommodating. The place itself was beautiful, and the prefect balance of having just what you need to be comfortable (nice mattresses!) but still having the simplicity to make it feel like a retreat from other stresses in life. Also, the nearby Kickapoo Valley Reserve is an incredible gem to explore. Chose this place - you’ll love it!

    Mike2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cabin. Very peaceful to be able to relax in front of the wood stove. Isaac was very thoughtful and prompt with his communication. If you want to unwind this is a great place to enjoy some peace and quiet. They keep the cabin stocked very well for anything you may need. Excellent location and hosts

    Sean2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • It was my second time staying there, perfect experience same as the last time.

    Mehdi2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • My weekend off the grid was amazing. It was a challenge I wanted to experience, being without water or electricity in the middle of nowhere in the winter all by myself. And it was the best. So peaceful and beautiful. The cabin is cozy, there was drinking water and plenty of wood. The gas heater is a plus. Isaac couldn't have been nicer, really. I was caught up in a snow "storm" on my drive from Chicago and it took me 7 hours to arrive. Isaac waited for me, I arrived at 10:30 and led me to the cabin in the snowy roads. He had started the fire and the cabin was nice and warm for a much needed rest. He was also amazing at answering message, always within the hour. I went snowshoeing everyday in the forest behind the cabin. It is big enough to go for an hours loop. It is very rustic, but that is the purpose, and even so the couches are confortable, sleeping in the loft was the best since the heat rises and the view in the morning is postcard perfect. It is easy to manipulate the wood burning stove and the cabin kept mostly warm. Isaac came to plow the driveway and check on me everyday. So nice. Things: to bring: headlight, lots of warm clothes (lots), boots. In the snow an AWD car is necessary. Cooking is limited to the one burner over the wood stove which works fine if it is very hot. I didn't try the grill outside. I had brought lots of ready to eat food which did not requiere cooking or warming up. I not only overcame my fears but actually loved it so much I want to do it again! Thank you Isaac for everything.

    Uge2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • I had a great stay at Isaac's cabin to decompress after a busy holiday season. It was impressively clean and well stocked for an off-the-grid trip. Isaac was very helpful and gave a great recommendation to check out the La Farge Winterfest activities. Looking forward to coming back when I can enjoy the porch and fire pit on a warmer night!

    David2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • If you need time to slow down for a bit, this is the place for you. Anything you need is there for a stay no matter the season. Exactly what it appears to be, very peaceful. Hidden gem of a property and great host!

  • Kelly and Dave's is a beautiful, comfortable place in an awesome location. This was the second time staying here, and recommend it highly.

  • Charming place to stay in downtown Viroqua. Well furnished, nice decor, clean, plenty of windows and space as well.

    Norman2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Loved it - very cozy and homey - a perfect base for exploring Viroqua and the surrounding driftless area.

    John2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • What can I say? 6/5 stars, I would love to stay here again. I chose Kelly and Dave's place for its convenient location, beautiful interior (the photos and other reviewers' comments told me I'd enjoy the space, but it's still better experiencing it) and privacy/amenities. More powerful than any particular decorations are the sense of comfort and warmth Kelly and Dave have created. It feels like staying at your artistic cousin's house while she's away for the weekend. All in all, a joyful space filled with books, lovely textiles and lots of light. Thank you!!

    Jessica2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • We always love staying here but the space now has a full sized refrigerator and stove - which makes it pretty much perfect! We come to Viroqua regularly and Kelly’s and Dave’s place is always our first choice.

A cabin that is nestled in the country side of southwest Wisconsin. The cabin is located with its own driveway that offers privacy for a getaway weekend. Comfortably sleeps 4, which includes a queen size bed in master bedroom, 2 single beds in the loft, and a pullout sleeper for the occasional impromptu guest. Centrally located in the Ocooch Area Wi.
Most of our guests enjoy the privacy they have with its own driveway. Quiet weekends having coffee in the morning on the deck or having a glass of wine in the evening watching the sunset.
Rural farm lands, enjoy the scenery of country. Relax and enjoy the horse and buggy go by every day, as local Amish travel.
  • This cabin is an absolute gem. It over exceeded my expectations. The space was perfect for a quiet get away weekend; and it was sparkling clean! The kitchen had everything we needed from pans, to cooking oil and spices. Thomas also provided some excellent recommendations for food and coffee; and the cabin is only a few minutes drive to the downtown which was nice. You really get the feeling of being away in woods with the convenience of being close to town. Would definitely come back!

    Jose2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great cabin! Very clean and very comfortable for 2 guests (and space for more). Relaxing setting in the woods - a great rustic get away, yet close enough to restaurants and things to do! Highly recommend.

  • Jesse's house served us well. There were 6 of us staying, so the kitchen and living room got a little tight at times, but sleeping areas and bathrooms were perfect. Jesse keeps the house very clean and had plenty of towels and linens. When we found it a bit chilly in the basement area after a few cold nights Jesse directed me to a space heater and her husband was by in what felt like 5 minutes with a second one. The house is in the country, and you will find that it takes a bit to get to big shopping. You will find most of what you need at the Marketplace (super cute and clean grocery) in the nearby town, but it is a bit pricy. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and would recommend this home to anyone needing a place to stay in the area! Thank you, Jesse!

  • Great location close to the apple orchards and cheese factories we visit every year! The kids loved all the land and that they each got their own bed to sleep in.

  • This place of perfect for a large group of guests! We visited with a group of 8 for a duck hunting trip. We had plenty of beds and space to relax after a day outdoors. Clean rooms, thoughtful seasonal decor touches, and speedy response time. We couldn’t have asked for a better stay.

  • We enjoyed the quiet, beautiful spot - a great spot to sit around the campfire and look at the stars! The house had plenty of space for our two families to share with the upstairs and downstairs bedrooms and separate bathrooms. We love to cook, and found the kitchen well suited for making meals. The whole place was very clean, the beds very comfortable and cozy, and we found it very relaxing and peaceful!

    Christina2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable, quiet, and relaxing. Close to town and local hot spots. We had a great time meeting the local wildlife too!

  • My wife and I needed a short weekend get-a-way from the hustle and bustle of the work/city and this place and location did wonders to re-charge our batteries! The location was perfect! Beautiful setting. Very quiet! It was very easy to get to the Great River Road where we ventured out to see the sites there. My wife loved the bonfire pit and used it to cook one of our meals. We are looking forward to coming back here perhaps in the Fall or Winter.

Charming, very quiet, efficiency cottage with covered parking. Only two blocks from downtown, and one block to a popular coffee shop. Full kitchen, including a dishwasher and microwave. Full stove and refrigerator. Fully renovated bathroom with tub/shower. TV and internet provided. One night stays or up to weekly stays allowed.
This quaint cottage is fully renovated with a new kitchen (with new appliances) and a new full bathroom.
Viroqua is a very charming town with a great-deal of organic, down to earth shops and people. The famous "Driftless Cafe" and their ever changing menu is just a few blocks away as is the "Kickapoo Coffee Shop." Mexican food, bars, and live entertainment fill the downtown Main Street. This is a non-smoking facility. No smoking anywhere on the property, please.
  • This quaint stand-alone place had everything we needed, including good communication and easy check-in. Queen bed was comfy with plenty of blankets and two pillows each. Relaxing compact couch area. TV with Roku. Full kitchen with large fridge and stove and even a few cans of soup there, should we have desired to hunker down. Can't think of anything we might have needed that wasn't available: plenty of towels and soaps and shampoos and ... The coach house is in close proximity to the Main House but still feels private. Good black-out curtains. Although the property is on the main drag, it is quiet. An instruction sheet covered details of expected check-out duties, which was appreciated. This was our first AirB&B booking so we appreciated the guidance. The place looks exactly like the pictures. Nice stay and would definitely book again. We're in the COVID-19 days and it was great to have our own comfy space.

This brand new apartment was added to the back of our detached garage. Low or no VOC products were used throughout construction. Brand new appliances installed with an oven big enough to cook the biggest turkey I’ve ever dreamed of. Spectacular ridge top views and beautiful starry nights. Hiking and cross country ski trails on the property of about 75 acres. Pick hazelnuts in the fall, collect and boil your own maple sap in the spring and pick blueberries in the summer.
There is additional space in the loft area for older children to sleep on camping pads-bring your own sleeping bags. Linens are provided for the queen size sofa sleeper. Along with staying in the apartment, guests are welcome to explore our 75 acres that are adjacent to DNR property. You can hike or cross country ski on forest and prairie trails. Some of the best flyfishing in Wisconsin is right down the road.
Guest apartment is 3 miles outside of Viroqua. In town there is the Kickapoo coffeehouse, the Viroqua food co-op, the Driftless Cafe, and the historic Temple theater with a wide variety of entertainers coming thru town.
  • Our stay here was incredible!!!! One of the best stays I have had. Don was a kind, warm host who taught my husband and I about tapping maple trees for syrup and showed us stars through his high powered telescope when we showed interest. The apartment was clean and modern, perfect for making meals and watching sunsets. Trails near and on the property were plentiful and a peaceful respite from urban life. Recommend 200%!

    Erica2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place is amazing! We only stayed for a night but Don was very accommodating, helpful and welcoming. We were a bit worried driving in at night to an unfamiliar place but when you get to the top of the driveway a warm glow greets you and it is clear this is a place tended to with love. The guest house is immaculate, the beds incredibly comfortable and the views amazing. There are even small touches like shampoo and conditioner available as well as coffee filters and coffee! This place is very close to downtown which is convenient too. We will definitely be back.

  • Wow! What a special time we had staying in Don's apartment. The space itself was impeccable - clean, cozy, with everything we could possibly need to make ourselves at home... but the real treasure was his wonderful family & property, where we felt so warmly welcomed. From the homemade maple syrup to the incredible views and connections we made - everything about our stay was simply delightful. Thank you Don & family! We can't wait to come back soon 😉

    Jessi2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really great stay at Don’s place. The scenery is gorgeous and we enjoyed being able to walk a loop and say hi to goats. My 8 year old son loved hanging out in the loft, and I appreciated the rock-solid ladder on my way up there. The kitchen and bathroom had everything we needed and more, the bed was comfortable, and check-in was a breeze. Can’t wait to go back.

Formerly Del Sol Chocolate factory, the space is in a quiet, residential area close to Eckhart Park and within walking distance to all of the great spots. Apartment is an addition off of the back of my house, with views into the backyard, and with a private entrance. The apartment features a full bathroom with a shower, and also a kitchenette. (small frig., toaster oven, french press). Wifi isn't available, but continuous internet access with ethernet is. (bring a laptop). Fragrance free.
My space is set up for health and tranquility, I don't use scented products, and use the Memon technology to aid in restful sleep and restoration. The views from the studio are of a green backyard, with plenty of windows for gently breezes. A backyard patio with chiminea and grill are available.
A very quiet neighborhood, with families, children, and friendly folks. Big yards for the city.

  • Lynn's place was a perfect spot for me to stay while I was in town for work. It was peaceful and private and I loved the windows overlooking the backyard. Lynn was very responsive when I had a question when I was checking in. She's a wonderful host and I would definitely stay here again.

  • Nice space, quiet neighborhood and close to downtown area that offers small quant shopping, coffee shop and a food co-op. The place was very neat and clean and Lynn provided clear instructions to ensure my stay went well.

  • It was a very lovely stay! Lynn included some sparkling water and delicious coffee for us. The space was a great size for a couple. It was very clean, comfortable, and stylish.

  • Lynn was very hospitable and friendly during my stay. She greeted me as I arrived and checked during the stay to make sure I had everything I needed. The attached apartment was spotless and well furnished! The space was warm even during below zero temperatures between her furnace and space heaters provided. Please do note (as stated in her listing) that there is NOT any wifi (although internet available via ethernet cord if you have a laptop). A great and tranquil place to stay if you are looking for a time to get away from the busyness of life!

This former U.S. post office is a well-appointed tiny house (230 SF) and farmstay in the Driftless Region of SW Wisconsin. You'll appreciate amazing views of our century-old hobby farm from every angle inside the Guesthouse. Nestled in a secluded valley on 13 acres, there is nothing to lose here except the madness of everyday life. This exceptional property offers high-speed internet (5G secure network), is available March thru December and is 20 mins to Richland Center or 25 mins to Viroqua.
Experience hobby farm living and the privacy of your own guesthouse - at Griff Run. This 13-acre organic hobby farm includes nine historic buildings including a dairy barn and root cellar. Inside the Guesthouse you'll find the perfect blend of old and new; antique furniture and fixtures mixed with modern touches like a 14-inch Saatva mattress, on-demand hot water and air conditioning. While we are not farmers ourselves, we love the company of our (outdoor) animal friends - and the menagerie changes regularly: horses, alpacas, chickens, the lovingest farm cats in WI, and one Goldendoodle. In summer 2019 we welcome two livestock guardian pups, Pyradors, and two baby alpacas (crias) - so stinkin' cute! The Guesthouse at Griff Run, itself, is free of animal allergens, however.
Our farm, Griff Run, is nestled in a secluded, private valley in the Driftless Region of SW Wisconsin. We can't see or hear our nearest neighbor, and, while we love them, we love that more. Our neighbors are hard-working farmers, English and Amish, as well as blue and white-collar professionals, like ourselves, just looking for sanctuary. World-class trout streams are a five-minute jaunt down a country road. Roam the area on one-lane farm roads surrounding Griff Run. You'll likely lose your cell signal as you descend into our valley. We tend to think that's a good thing...
  • Griff Run was an excellent stay. Very cozy and the eggs were tasty. One of the most comfortable beds I've slept in, not just counting Airbnbs. Would definitely recommend to anyone interested in checking out the Driftless region!

  • My stay at Shauna’s was so amazing! We went for New Years Eve and there was a blizzard but it never felt cold inside the Airbnb. It is surprisingly spacious and well thought out with a huge comfy bed and really nice bath. The nearest town is a 20-30 minute drive but we were welcomed to explore their 13 acre property and meet all their super friendly pets. Shauna and her family went above and beyond to be welcoming and helpful. They literally gave us the last 11 eggs in their chicken coop to take home with us! It was so fun and I 100% will be returning!

  • Nice place to stay if looking for a place in the area

    Bill2019-11-27T00:00:00Z
  • I had an absolutely wonderful stay. It was very serene and peaceful, full of thoughtful little touches. I loved all the animals on the property, and how quiet it was. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet get away.

    Sarah2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • An idyllic and bucolic little house in the middle of an alpaca and chicken and dog and cat working farm. We loved our time in Griff Run! If you're looking for a cozy spot to cook and get away from urban life, you'd love it here.

    Jonathan2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful gem in the beautiful driftless area. The tiny house is very comfortable, well appointed/stylish and super clean. The farm fresh eggs were a delicious touch! Shawna and Matt are fabulous hosts. We highly recommend!!

  • This place is such an adorable cottage! We had such an amazing time and can't wait to come back again and stay longer. So many personal touches with the great coffee, tea, eggs and even cream. We had everything we could need to stay comfortably, especially in the kitchen. Also loved the cute bathroom and of course one of the most comfortable beds. We couldn't have asked for a more relaxing and cozy place to stay, not to mention some of the most beautiful nature to explore in this area.

    Annie2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is a super cozy place to stay that truly impressed us with the personal touches. We loved the coffee and fresh eggs! Our weather was rainy, otherwise we would have loved to sit outside and enjoy a fire, but we enjoyed our relaxing time indoors as well. We also liked hiking in the Kickapoo Valley Reserve and visiting Viroqua. Truly a fantastic get away!

    Amanda2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great location right in town. Clean and comfortable - and they kept the walk and driveway shovelled, which was helpful.

    Kathryn2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • This apartment was perfect! Everything was set up nicely, and overall the amenities were a cut above (e.g., high-quality shampoo & soaps, thick toilet paper, good coffee & tea selection). My favorite things that made our stay special were the mattresses and bedding (very cozy!) and the tropical plants that gave the place a homey feel.

    Kristen2019-11-24T00:00:00Z

This cabin is located on the West Fork of the Kickapoo River. Very rustic setting. Bathhouse is located in a different place.
  • This was a perfect little cabin for a getaway in nature. Very simple and cozy, with great little terrace facing a creek. The main house and larger cabin are nearby which made me feel safer and at the same time didn't disturb the peaceful time. The toilet is indeed outdoors but there is a sink with running water in the kitchenette. Overall loved the place and likely will be back next year!

    Petrova2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • For a last min find, little hobbit was perfect!! It was a little scary at first since the pictures made it seem bigger than it was but quickly realized we didn't actually need a whole lot of space anyways! We were happily surprised while inside--we had NO IDEA we had neighbors! The moment we closed the doors we couldn't hear them or the storm that rolled through at night (which was also a perk for the dogs, who typically bark at everything)!! The sounds of the river made the place very restful and we spent most of our weekend sitting on the patio in the beautiful weather we got!!

    Maralyn2019-08-18T00:00:00Z

Off-grid and back to basics, our cabin is located 20 minutes from Viroqua and 10 minutes from the Mississippi River. With an ample front porch, screened gazebo, and stone fire ring, you can breathe deep and enjoy the quiet simplicity offered by this Amish-built cabin. This charming space is in a lovely valley, a few minutes from Sugar Creek Winery and close to trout stream fishing in every direction.
With no running water or septic, stay a night or enjoy a rustic weekend while using a well-maintained outhouse and an outdoor shower. While there is no electricity, the cabin’s propane-fueled refrigerator and stove and battery-powered lighting will keep you feeling right at home.
In the heart of the Mississippi River Valley, this region is a unique and striking topographical gem.
  • Nice cozy cabin for a quiet getaway. It was cold and snowy during our stay, but the woodstove was an effective heat source and Ashley was quick to reach out and make sure everything was going alright.

    Elizabeth2019-11-29T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place to unplug and relax. Great escape from everyday life. Perfect off grid experience. Plan on returning!

  • This little cabin is so great! It's my second visit here and we plan to make it annual! Love the cabin, rustic living for a spell and the great little towns around it with lots of character. The cabin has everything you need to make a weekend of roughing it feel really homey!

    Carey2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Quaint, quiet cottage in the woods. Everything you need for a remote stay. Clean and comfortable inside and out. We can’t wait to return for rest & relaxation. Thanks so much!

    Kah2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Ashley made sure we knew what we were signing up for when we reserved the cabin, which was greatly appreciated since it is a more rustic stay. I am a hearty sort so this did not deter me. The cabin was beautiful in its simplicity and the wood stove was very toasty. We were fortunate to have a clear night for star gazing. We also enjoyed the surrounding area and will most definitely consider returning. Especially in the summer time when we can experience the outdoor shower. Returning to the basics and enjoying the peace and quite can be revitalizing. Thank you for sharing your cabin.

    Shannon2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was thought of before we arrived. All you have to do is pack your clothes and stop for groceries. Everything was immaculate...including the outhouse! It was beautiful to watch the snow fall while nice and cozy in the cabin!

    Kelli2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Nice cabin, close to the road, but not much traffic noise during the day, and hardly any at night. Great place to get away from normal routines. Just be aware there isn’t a lot of daylight in the cabin, even in the middle of the day.

Comfortable, vintage cottage on family farm. Great place to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of this area.
This charming 1940's era home was the original Grandma Nordin's house when she moved to the property to live near her son and family, who were dairy farmers. We have made a few changes to accommodate guests' preferences but tried to keep the house "true" to its original purpose.
Our farm is located in a thriving Amish community, the largest one in Wisconsin, and many farms sell handcrafted items to the general public. We are near three major rivers, the Mississippi, Wisconsin, and the Kickapoo, plus we are less than 10 miles from the Kickapoo Reserve, a 10,000-acre nature preserve open to the public year round
  • Super casual relaxing place. Lots of stars. Company on your walks (dog, cats or some combination). Very welcoming hosts.

  • Trillium is a wonderful place with gracious hosts!

  • This was my second time staying at Grandma’s Cottage and it was just as wonderful as the first. I loved being there in the winter- the first night there were beautiful flurries of snow which made cuddling by the fire even better. We hiked at Kickapoo Reserve the second day and the area is such a gorgeous part of the state. One of my favorite parts of staying at Trillium is the animals. They are so friendly and the best guides when walking the property. The breakfast comes warm and freshly baked for $1. This is one of my favorite places for a getaway. Thank you for everything!

    Dana2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage was a world of relaxation for us. We especially enjoyed the fireplace and loved cooking in the kitchen with its vintage charm. Thank you for the wonderful weekend.

    Meg2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • The nearby area and property was absolutely stunning. The cottage itself was extremely cute and cozy and beautifully decorated. We enjoyed the vintage feel of the space and looking at all the antiques. The fireplace was a wonderful treat and the owners supplied an ample amount of wood. We enjoyed meeting all the animals on the property while walking around and enjoying the sights. A truly relaxing experience. We’ll be back!

    Heather2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • I went with my girlfriend and we had an amazing winter getaway. Could not have asked for more...from the beautiful setting, to the cottage itself, to the delicious breakfast (and of course our gracious hosts) we loved it, and we hope to be back soon.

  • This is the perfect getaway for a couple looking to unwind, connect with nature, or just be cozy. The hosts are incredibly warm, and the home made breakfasts are an absolute treat.
