Welcome to Maine and lake life! This cozy little cabin is a stones throw away from the waters edge. Enjoy the deck and dock as you watch the loons, bald eagles and other local wildlife. Our guests have access to our kayaks and canoe if you want to get off the shore and out into the water. The pond is great for swimming and perfect for small children. Take a little time for yourself and enjoy the peace and serenity of the pond. Check out our larger main Lodge https://abnb.me/WG8ppGX6vY
About an hour and a half from Portland and Acadia National Park, this tiny cabin puts you close enough to it all at an extremely reasonable price point! Where else can you get enough room to sleep 4-6 people (6 if you have kids) people that is lake front with access to kayaks, canoe, BBQ and a fire pit at this price?!? Enjoy the serenity of the waters edge where you will hear the welcoming call of your neighbors- the loons and Bald Eagles.
Easy access to nearby Pittsfield, Skowhegan or Newport for shopping and dining. Access to Interstate 95 is just minutes away.
  • I would give 10 stars. Jamie and Sam, the cozy cabin and it’s location far exceeded my expectations. Sam and Jamie are very friendly, helpful and generous (!!!), yet respected privacy and space. I couldn’t recommend this sweet, rustic cabin and hosts more.

  • Amazing little cabin with everything and more!!! Beautiful views of the lake peaceful atmosphere and a warm cabin for those chili October nights. Sam was absolutely great a text away but we got all the privacy we could ask for even though the main house is a few steps away. The cabin was spotless, comfy and plenty of room. We were able to cook our dinner in the BBQ and our breakfast in the little oven. A good size refrigerator in the cabin made it a lot easier then using a cooler. I was very hesitant of the outside shower for those chili October nights but it was the best thing ever!!! We did not use the kayaks but Sam made sure we knew there were available. We will definitely return during the summer so we can make a better use of the lake. Thank you for having us.

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Sam’s place. We spent most of our trip at Acadia, but the cabin is nearby other nature sights, plus there were kayaks we could have used. The heater kept us warm when we were worried we might get cold. Sam and Jamie were kind and communicative and we couldn’t have asked for more responsive and attentive hosts! This cabin felt spacious despite the fact that we had four people there, and it’s a great value. We would certainly return.

  • Sam's place was exactly as described but even more comfortable and enjoyable than I expected!

    Elizabeth2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay. Please make sure you understand how to use the compostable toilet- we didn’t have that 100% aright. Otherwise, lovely place!

  • Really great stay , very private, and a very cute cabin with a beautiful view !

    Kidder2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I had a lovely time. Only regret was that we were so busy with our plans, we didn’t plan out more time to actually hang out at the cabin and go canoeing. Next time!

    Sophia2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Sam was extremely responsive to all of my questions. The directions were very clear and we had no problem finding the cabin. It was very rustic and quaint- the perfect place to spend some time away from life's craziness and unwind!

The several hundred books on display around the apartment adds to the wonderful ambiance and contains dozens of books of interest in every genre. While there is a space heater, if staying in the winter, consider bringing warmer clothes too. I cannot recommend the place enough!

  • Really glad that I can choose to stay in Melissa's airbnb again. We got in the house at night, when I parked the car, I saw the light in the house was on, this makes you feel you went back to your family home after a long travel. When I get in the house, the heater was on, blankets are new, blankets are the Christmas topic, also the kitchen was changed, there's a Pine branch put on the window of the kitchen, it's full of Japan's Zen meaning. There's a Christmas flower on the fridge, makes me feel the Christmas is coming soon. Thanks for each surprise that Melissa made, she is like your good friend, prepare everything before you come. Yes, thanks for Melissa's entertain, I hope I will still have chance to live in her apartment at May of next year. Fortunately, I can choose to live in airbnb in Melissa again. We checked in at night. As soon as we stopped the car, we looked up and saw that the lights in the house were on, giving you a feeling of going home. The heating of the room has been turned on, the bedding is newly changed, it is a Christmas theme, and the kitchen has changed. The Christmas flowers on the refrigerator let you feel the Christmas atmosphere in advance. Thanks to Melissa for all the surprises, she is like your old friend, and prepared everything in advance for your arrival. Yes, thank you Melissa for your invitation, and I hope to have the opportunity to live in her airbnb again in early summer of May.

  • This is a very nice and warm experience of live in Airbnb. The owner, Melissa is a lady who Has a good taste of life and considerate. This is the first time that she rent her house to other people, but she thought a lot before she do that, before we come, she bought water and put in the fridge for us to drink, and also prepared coffee powder of McDonald. At the first day, when I entered the house, the heater already turned on, and then she heard that I am from south of China, she went to got some candles for me, such a cute owner. The owner of this house love reading, she has a lot of books in her house. In order to convenient for whole family to read, some books have 2 which are the same. In here, if you have time, and also if you understand English , you can read, that would be a very nice experience. Anyway, I cannot tell a lot of details, to avoid to lost your curious. Welcome you come to live this house as well. A very satisfying and warm airbnb stay experience. The landlord Melissa is a lady with a taste for life and an understanding. Although this was Melissa's first time as a landlord, she thoughtfully bought the water in advance and put it in the refrigerator for use, as well as coffee powder from McDonald's. On the day of check-in, when I opened the door, the heating was turned on beforehand. Later, I heard that I came from a southern city in China. I also brought a lot of candles to the host. The landlord loves reading, and the house is full of books. For the convenience of the whole family, two books are available for some books. Here, if you have time, you understand English, and you can read, it will be a wonderful experience in life. In short, I cannot reveal too many details, so as not to lose your curiosity. You are also welcome to feel this warm home.

The walls are pine, it has wall to wall red indoor / outdoor carpeting. There is a recliner and a sofa bed that sleeps two. There are ceiling lights with fans . It is lake front property.
What makes my space unique is it offers a spectacular view of nature which gives you a sense of serenity, has the all the amenities of modern living in a rustic setting and has the feel of a large living area in a compact living area.
The neighborhood is rustic and very quiet. There are woods with a variety of wildlife such as rabbits, deer, moose, skunks, raccoons, bears, porcupines and fisher cats. For people who like to fish the lake has bass, trout and perch. There are loons, ducks, geese, cranes and herons on and around the lake. If you are lucky you will see the eagles dive for food.
  • We had a wonderful time staying at Meg's! Her place was a convenient location for our trip and it has a beautiful view at sunrise and sunset. We would absolutely recommend staying at Meg's place!

    Amanda2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful setting. Small cottage that offers a good night sleep. It is as described. If traveling with elder, there are no direct steps to backside where the apartment is. I slipped going down the uneven ground. If traveling with a baseball fan, the tv received a very weak signal and couldn’t watch it. Luckily the internet was strong enough for her to logon with her ipad. If you have ATT, you will have no service at the property. Overall though, a 5 star stay.

    Katie2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely private spot. Comfy beds, spacious living room, quiet location, gorgeous view. Coffee maker, toaster oven, microwave, dishes, utensils, refrigerator, grill, etc. Folks who stay need to realize northern Maine has spotty cell service. But the WiFi worked quite well. Highly recommend and would stay again.

This is a tiny retreat for one or two guests. There is a fireplace facing the twin day bed. There is a screened in kitchenette. No shower facilities...but ask about availability of other cabins to possibly schedule time for use. This cabin is also a perfect add-on to those who need a little more space for additional guests when renting cabin 1 or 3! Winter rental details: We reduce our rates for the for the winter months because it's a great stay, for those who like winter camping in comfort!
This is a "still in the process" tiny cabin that really feels like a retreat from the world. There is no indoor shower but if you are a hardy soul who enjoys off the grid living... with a little luxury...a bird bath does the job. The "bathroom" is a very clean, cedar outhouse next to the cabin with a stained glass window. This is an experience that is perfect for some...and not for others. Read description thoroughly and ask questions if needed. Adventure and seclusion await! Winter rental details: We reduce our rates for the hide-a-way for the winter months because it's a great stay...but for those who like winter camping in comfort! This cabin heats up beautifully with the fireplace and is so snuggly...but shoveling a little snow and lugging a few armfulls of wood might be part of this woodland experience...oh...but if you are up for it...what an experience!
Jackson is a lovely town right on rt 7 with great access to the Bangor Airport and the beautiful coastal town of Belfast with many treasures to explore from there. Many of our guests are on their way to or from visiting Acadia which is about 1 hour 30 min away. Locally the Jackson/Brooks area has beautiful farms and events associated with those locations. It's not far from the famed Lost Kitchen...book well in advance! A golf course...The Hills to Sea trail...and great local food are all close by with seasonal events happening throughout the year.
  • Perfect cabin for a weekend getaway! Such a cozy and cute place. As soon as we arrived, the cabin was so warm and toasty due to the fire that they had already set up for us! Thank you Jim & Doreen. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Maine! -Darlene & Alex

  • This quaint and quiet little cabin is darling. The outhouse is clean and easy to access. Having the wood stove during the chilly night was charming and cozy. I’d come back again.

  • Great little place to stay!

    Amy2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely little cabin, perfect for one or two people. I needed a place to stay for one night while at the Common Ground Fair. The cabin was an easy 20-minute drive from the fairgrounds on country roads. It sits among a cluster of 3 or 4 cabins that share a driveway,so even though I was traveling alone I felt safe with other guests next door. It had been renovated recently so all of the wood inside was brand new ; the twin beds very comfortable; and the cabin was nicely decorated inside too. I didn’t have time to use the wood stove but I imagine that would be nice on a cool evening . There was an electric heater that warmed the cabin quickly. The kitchenette is on a screened porch. So sweet! And if all of that wasn’t enough to delight, the outside (heated) shower had just been installed and I was able to enjoy a warm shower outside in the morning. Such a wonderful experience! Next time, I will stay longer and use it as a jumping off pad to explore the Midcoast. Belfast is an easy 20-minute drive. Really enjoyed my all-too-short stay!

    Naomi2018-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • A cute cabin and the perfect amount of space for 3 adults and a corgi. AC unit cooled the entire cabin, it was nice having a tall shower head, and we really appreciated the clear check in instructions, list of local suggestions, and guest expectations found on the kitchen table.

    Melissa2018-08-28T00:00:00Z

It's beside a pond engineered and built by industrious beavers which brings all kinds of wildlife to the area. In the spring, with the snow melt, the pond is full and over-flowing. In the early summer, while the water level is still high and fresh, it's a swimming hole. Later in the summer, the water level drops and the lilies bloom. This is really a beautiful pond ecosystem.
This spot in the Maine woods is close enough to be on the road in seconds, yet far enough away to feel real privacy. The site is on a 130-acre lot of land with plenty of woods roads to wander.
  • This is the perfect get-away from regular life and reminds you why you love the outdoors. Jim and Doreen are perfect hosts and can help guide you along to a great trip!

    Jennie2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Great overnight camp spot. Really appreciate the wood, including kindling. The outhouse is as clean as other reviewers have noted.

    Robin2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing property, the hosts go above and beyond to provide you with what you need. We were very surprised to have a wood pile, and a grill with propane! Though we prefer to cook over the fire it was still fantastic to have! The outhouse is fabulous. Directions to the campsite were spot on. Truly a hidden gem and SO private! Highly recommend!

  • Very nice property!

    David2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed the seclusion your campsite gave us. At first we thought the pile of wood was a tent with the tarp over it but were very glad for the wood that was there! It was also a beautiful stop before going to acadia national park!

    Desserra2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot, we camped here after being in Portland and then headed to bar harbor upon waking.

    Kayla2019-08-12T00:00:00Z

  • We had a wonderful time!Jim and Doreen went into a lot of trouble to offer our family a night of camping with all the equipment waiting for us. Large roomy tents, comfortable sleeping bags and mats, a mobile outdoor kitchen, plenty of wood for the firepit - made our family a night to remember! Thank you!

This is an adorable rustic but lux little get-a-way in the heart of Jackson, Maine. There are several cabins built on the property creating winter village feel. We've opened this cabin to winter rentals with the caveat that a guest could potentially wake up on a very cold morning with a temporary loss of water at the kitchen sink due to freezing. However, the condition is usually temporary and just effects the kitchen sink and not any of the bathroom fixtures.
This listing is for the front cabin called the Bird's Nest which is now completely renovated! We are always adding to and fluffing it. Please let us know what your needs are and we can give you an idea if this cabin might be a good fit for your escape. Situated on 10 wooded acres to wander on.... and another 100+ acres down the road with a stream, pond and woods roads for hiking!
Jackson is three miles outside of Brooks and has a little cafe that resources from some amazing local farm foods. Ralphs Cafe is seasonal so check hours. Very centrally located to Augusta, Waterville, Belfast and Bangor.
  • An amazing place for quiet reflection and cozy comfort. The wood burning stove kept everything nice and toasty, but even if we had not used it, it was still warm and comfy inside. It did add a great amount of ambiance though! It doesn't have a tv, but we did not miss it even a little (even my teenage son didn't miss it!). Beds are quite comfortable and everything was spotlessly clean upon our arrival. If you have difficulty climbing, stay in the bed downstairs. But the loft upstairs was so nice and worth the climb up the unique staircase. Jim and Doreen's directions were spot on and they gave us a head's up on any inclement weather conditions. It was a wonderful place to stay and we hope to be back again next year!

  • Great little cabin tucked in the woods! My husband and I were impressed with the thoughtful details and incredible amount of comfort provided in this cabin. We can’t wait to come back, 10/10!

    Ambrosia2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Such an amazing spot! You won't regret staying here, we are already plotting our return. Note that nearby Ralph's is not currently open for dinner so you will need to travel a bit for dinner (it's open for breakfast and lunch though!! It's sooo good)!

    Katie2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage was perfect for our stay in Maine. It was very clean and quite cozy. It has a homey feel that you don't get everywhere. There was easy communication with the hosts and questions were answered quickly. We throughly enjoyed ourselves and can't wait to stay again.

  • This is such a sweet spot, tucked away in the woods. The hosts were very responsive and sweet...and the amenities were super clean and fresh feeling. Would definitely recommend!

  • Super great place .. the craftsmanship of the renovations was amazing ..

    Kris2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is amazing. It’s gorgeous, clean, smells incredible, and is just the right distance away from town. My husband and I aren’t very outdoorsy, but we loved it. I think people more outdoorsy than we are would absolutely adore it here. The beds were both so comfy, and the pillows are amazing. The wood burning stove is also great! Love, love, love.

    Megan2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • What an excellent cabin!! Cozy, clean and just adorable! Relaxed by the fire pit and snuggled up for a couple nights for a weekend getaway. Not hard to find at all and great local stores for food and goods. Loved Ralph's cafe down the road. We will be back to visit again for sure! Don't pass up a chance to stay here if you can!

This beautiful home is only 15 minutes from I95. The location has access to recreational trails for snowshoeing, ATVs and snowmobiles. The large driveway allows you to leave your trailers while you access the trails from across the street. In July, the town hosts the best fireworks display in the state over the lake as part of their annual summer festival. The lake also has a great variety of fresh water fish. This is a great quiet location for a nice relaxing vacation.
There is a gas station less than 3 miles away as well as an amazing country convenience store with amazing food and all of your every day needs with friendly and helpful staff.
  • This cabin is a gem. In a lovely town, this cabin is located close enough to larger city centers but far enough away to really enjoy the feel of being out in the woods with nature. The host is a wonderfully caring person that strives to make the experience memorable for everyone. The cabin immerses you in the feeling of wilderness while providing all of the comforts of a relaxing retreat. Grab a hot chocolate or a fishing pole and enjoy the best of Maine.

The River cabin is set in the woods for a quiet, private retreat. The bedroom has a full size bed. The 3/4 bath is a comfortable size. While there is not a full kitchen there is a small frig, coffee maker, microwave. There is a flat screen tv with dvd player and a stash of movies. Gas grills are available. The futon in the living area provides additional sleeping space. There is a firepit available. Close to Skowhegan and Waterville which both have great restaurants. Enjoy Lake George Regional Park for fishing, swimming, boating.
  • A rustic cabin in a private and rural setting. Denise and her daughter were helpful and quick to respond to any questions. And dog friendly too!

  • Fantastic host respond immediately, came over and help me out with everything I needed including recommendations, Go visit kens’ restaurant great fried chicken local special place. And there is bowling as well across the street. We just needed a place to sleep on our way to Acadia ( 1,50 hr away) So it was perfect. Dog friendly. And clean .

    Aia2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed here with my Labradors for a few days. Denise was a great host. A minor problem was fixed immediately. It is a cabin in the woods in Maine, so you will meet a few insects. Cabin was clean, bed comfortable. No wi-fi, but unlike other areas of Maine I had cell phone reception on AT&T. No kitchen, so plan on going out for dinner or grilling (the Old Mill Pub in Skowhegan turned out to be quite good). Would be happy to return.

  • If you're looking for peace, quiet, and a beautiful cabin in the woods, this is your place! We enjoyed Saturday morning coffee outdoors in the amazing Autumn air, and were more than amazed at how awesome the sound of falling leaves can be! We were treated to a flock of Canada Geese landing in a nearby field, and Friday evening we enjoyed the sounds of owls calling back and forth to one another. It was enjoyable to watch two Black Labs playing out in the yard, beautiful and well behaved and friendly animals! The bed and futon were both comfy, the throw blankets warm and comforting. The heater kept things toasty warm inside the cabin, and we both enjoyed the decorations and thoughtfulness to detail. My friend and I had to leave earlier than our scheduled departure date due to family emergency, but we loved the cabin at Silverton Sporting Camp, and hope to return again another time!! Thank you Denise! GREAT value for the money, awesome little cabin in the woods. Absolutely 100% perfect for what we wanted!!!

  • Really great location for exploring the great outdoors and to get away from tourists. We brought our dogs and wonderful hiking trails on property. Would be a great place for xcountry skiing. Loved seeing more to Maine than the coast. The kennebec region is really amazing

This beautifully finished tiny house was completed as a labor of love. The wood was cut and milled from the land surrounding it, with charming rustic touches added around the home. The house is a compact & bijou 250sq ft, but comfortably sleeps 2, or a family with a small child.
The upper “bird’s nest” is the perfect place to watch the stars and commune among the fireflies on a Summer night. With ample windows, the outside is brought in to guarantee romantic evenings to remember.
The property is only a stone’s throw from one of America’s most exclusive dining experiences, The Lost Kitchen. The restaurant is housed in a stunningly restored grist mill only a couple of miles away in the nearby town of Freedom. It has been reviewed and revered worldwide, and received 20,000 requests for reservations last year alone. Coastal Belfast is just 15 minutes away to the South, with plenty of restaurant choices and art stores, while Waterville to the North is home to the famous Railroad Square cinema and Big G’s deli, which must not be missed!
  • Tom was super nice and his property was awesome. Great place to view the stars at night. Also right down the road from the the common ground fair! Thanks again Tom!

    Jeffrey2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Tom's hand-built cabin with bathroom facility and outdoor shower adjacent was the perfect upgrade from camping - snug, comfortable, conveniently appointed and homey (hand-painted with glow in dark stars in sleeping loft!) Great for a single and can accommodate a couple, it is a very private setting behind the vegetable garden on his property in a woodsy setting in the hills above the mid-coast towns and the very nice Belfast with it's terrific co-op to anchor, about a 20-25 min drive down the pleasant scenic Rt. 173. Stop at any of the several roadside stores they're all good, open early and late, and Weaver's has a morning bakery as the sun is coming up. Tom and wife are super nice and authentic. Great value, great place, great hosts, and Maine: ME

  • The tiney house was awesome! Very comfortable, just like the ones on TV. It was perfect, rustic but comfortable, I spent my days exploring the coastle cities of Maine and hiking. It was so cool to actually stay someplace that was really doing the sustainable lifestyle! I'm def going back again! Tom was super nice, even refunded me when I had to check out early for work, and didn't mind checking me in in the middle of the night lol, it was great!

Brand new construction! Honey matched pine in living room, kitchen and hall including ceilings. Water view nestled in the woods. Access to pond frontage with fire pit. One hour: east of Sugarloaf, south of Moosehead, west of the coast, north of Augusta. Year round get away😊
  • Our stay at Jane and Dorothy's place was everything my boyfriend and I expected and more. The house is much more spacious than we had thought, extremely clean and very cozy for our NYE getaway. Walmart, Supermarket and other stores were a short drive away which was very convenient. Overall, we had an amazing stay and cannot wait to return for another lovely stay in the near future!

    Christy2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • The place is well maintained and clean, and while simple offers the basic ammenities needed. We have stayed there twice now and have been pleased both times.

    Matthew2019-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent hosts. Super clean, nice kitchen and gas stove

    Diane2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Clean and tidy, comfortable, pleasant, and it was a real sanctuary at the end of many long work days with a cozy bed. We stayed very late in the season, so early mornings were quite chilly, and we experienced power loss. Jane was kind to keep us informed and updated, however. My best advice to future guests is this; make 100% sure about the dates of your visit, and if there is the tiniest doubt or possibility of a change, get travel insurance. Airbnb is clunky and unforgiving with changes.

    Michelle2019-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • My family didn’t actually end up staying at Dorothy and Jane’s place, because there was a big storm, and it knocked out the power. Dorothy and Jane were both super Great with their communication and letting us know the situation, and helped us get a full refund, so we could find a new place to stay

Quite 53 acres to run free on, located in central Maine! We welcome and ATVs, horses, dog, and cats to enjoy the trails on and off property. There is a barn with stalls and pasture. We do have horses, dog and chickens living here with us! A 30 minute drive to Bangor or hour and half drive to Acadia park where there are great trails, hiking and beach areas to enjoy.
Quiet country setting, short drive to near by cities or activities.
  • There were many places available when I decided to stay at this farm. I did so because I have a pug at home in Indiana that I missed terribly. Choosing to go to a place that had several made it a perfect choice. I was there in the winter and there was snow cover constantly but the clear night sky is truly something to behold. It really is amazing how much more can be seen away from city lights. I loved the snow too as winter is my favorite season. I was in their apartment for a couple months. They became good friends I feel and were genuinely good people. If I get the chance to return to Maine this will be the first place I look to see if it’s available. I had some significant family losses in the middle of my stay and I am eternally grateful they were there. They listened and truly helped a more than they know. I think the best thing I can say is that Bryant and Dodi are wonderful and caring people that are becoming a rare find. I’m so very fortunate to have found this place and miss being there very much! You won’t find better anywhere! Rich F Greenwood IN Jan 17-March 13 2020

    Richard2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Bryant and Dody are the sweetest, most genuine people I have ever met . The space they offer has a warmth to it that cuts through the cold winters , and the view past the road and pasture cant be beat . I loved my time there much more than expected , and would recommend it to anyone looking for peace in a country setting .

    BreeAnna2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • This country loft is a comfortable, spacious place with a kitchen. We'd stay there again.

    Paula2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • A cozy space in a rustic setting, and a gracious host. The space was clean and comfortable, with simple but pleasant furnishings and slightly eclectic decor. You're staying on a farm, so you should come with realistic expectations. Don't plan on sleeping in, because the rooster is an early riser, and the pack of pugs can make a bit of a racket when they're wound up. Otherwise, it was a quiet stay in a beautiful part of Maine's bucolic farm country. If you're looking for a jumping-off point for adventures in the North Woods or just looking to get away to somewhere you can see a million stars, this is a lovely spot for a getaway.

    Michael2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • We were looking for a place to stay en route to Acadia NP and got such phenomenal hospitality from Bryant and Dodie that we were sad to leave so soon. Would definitely return.

  • Bryant's studio was a perfect place for us to stay on our way up from Boston to N. Maine. His studio was very clean, had AC, and was very private from his residence near by. He and his wife were extremely hospitable and communicating with them was fast and easy. Their farm was very relaxing with the ducks and rooster roaming around, not to mention their cute pugs! We would definitely recommend staying there and hope to again next time we visit Maine!

  • This Air BNB, Log cabin at Stonecrop Meadow hosted by Dan in Hampden, Maine, is a lovely log cabin in a beautiful traditional Maine setting. Dan is an excellent host making sure every detail was managed with care. The accommodations were very warm, comfortable and inviting. Dan is very knowledgeable about the area and can help make a visit there very enjoyable. I will book this lodging again when in the area.

  • Great how this place is both convenient yet remote and rustic and comfortable! It is an easy drive to the Bangor airport and to other destinations in this part of Maine, but the long dirt road to the property was my first indication that this Airbnb is nestled in a wooded area off the beaten track. There is a large meadow which was sunny and warm during my October visit, there are trails right out the back door of the cabin, there is a well stocked kitchen and cupboards filled with bathroom supplies and linens, and the queen room was warm and cozy. I slept well and woke to the sounds of the rooster, perfect!

Such a quiet place close enough to Acadia, so you get a full experience. The hosts are so kind and interested in making sure that your trip goes well! Definitely a place we would return to.

  • Jon is a great host providing plenty of suggestion and knowledge of the area. The cabin was impeccably clean with special added touches like no other. We will deffinately be returning.

  • This is a beautiful cabin, perfectly laid out and clean. Linens, snacks, somehow no bugs and close to lots of lovely places which Jon can tell you all about.

    Margaret2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and I spent a delightful long weekend exploring the Mid-Coastal region of Maine, with Jon's lovely cabin as a perfect base. Jon and his wife Martha were extremely hospitable, offering us tailored recommendations for places to visit based on our interests. The cabin was spotlessly clean and stocked with unexpected but much appreciated amenities, such as freshly ground coffee, orange juice, milk, and snacks. Whatever your reasons for visiting the area, I imagine you'd be hard pressed to find a more perfect spot.

    Kevin2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay. Jon was a great host. He greeted us as soon as we pulled in and showed us around the cabin. He gave us a lot of suggestions for fun things to do in the area. My daughter was sick and Jon gave told me where the closest hospital was. He also checked in with us to see how she was feeling throughout our stay. Jon was very friendly and thoughtful. The cabin was perfectly clean and comfortable. It was stocked with snacks, fresh ground coffee, tea, and drinks. I would definitely stay here again!

    Rebecca2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Lots of places say “sparkling clean.” This one really is. 4 years old and still brand new. The spot is perfectly serene and the host exceptionally friendly and knowledgeable.

    Jerome2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • Jon's cabin is a great little spot off the beaten path. We arrived a little early which was no problem since the cabin is located right next to Jon's house. He was quick to come out and greet us before we even got to the door. Jon was very welcoming and pleasant. He gave us a great background of the cabin and the story of building it as well as his own home. He brought us into the cabin and gave us an overview for our stay. He had freshly ground coffee as well as a stock of snacks, and water and milk in the fridge. The cabin had WiFi which was great. Jon provided us a list of things to do in the surrounding area, Belfast, ME being one of the suggestions that we took him up on. It was a quick little trip with lots to do. Most of our time was in Bangor which was just 40 minutes away so the cabin was in a good spot for us. We communicated with Jon a few times through AirBnB and he was very responsive. Upon our departure, Jon came out to meet us to ensure we had a pleasant time. If/when we return to the area we would certainly check to see if the cabin in available. It's a great place and Jon is an excellent host.

    David2019-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Jon's cabin is the perfect getaway for a weekend in Maine. Jon claimed the cabin was three years old -- but to be honest, it felt brand new to us! It was immaculately clean, and still smelled of fresh wood. Jon's hospitality was also above expectations -- he provided all kinds of goodies in the cabin (including lots of fresh coffee, cocoa, tea, snacks, and even wine!). He added special touches, like a greeting in Nepali to welcome the guests I was staying with. Also, on size: my group had four people, and we felt comfortable, despite the small space. Though this is a cabin, it still has modern amenities -- the bathroom was fully functional with hot water (unlimited -- no running out of hot water!). In short, I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a secluded, quiet, but comfortable place in Maine.

We are located in Central Maine, 7 miles from I-95, 25 miles from Bangor, 50 miles from Moosehead Lake, 71 miles from Acadia National Park and 150 miles from Mount Katahdin. • We picked this place mainly because it was in the perfect location for a rest-stop during our road trip from Ontario to New Brunswick, but it turned out to be so much more! This was the cleanest airbnb I've ever stayed in, it had everything you could need in the kitchen, and Maryanne was a delight to talk to. Oh, and don't get me started on the view from the porch. Absolutely beautiful. Wish I could have stayed longer!

  • Maryanne’s place is a lil piece of gem where you can kick back and relax. It’s quite so if your trying to escape the huddle and bustle of city this is the place for you. Just a heads up there is nothing really close to it. Bar Harbor and Acadia are 1.5 hours away. This house make that drive worth it though and believe me best value for your money. We realized this when we got to bat harbor with their run down motels and super high price hotels. You can’t beat the value here.

This is a woodland cabin that is just waiting for you to snuggle in. Fire pit in the back for campfire fun! This is a small space for a big Maine adventure...💗
This space is pure woodland magic with a front screened in porch and full kitchen and bath. This unique cabin is tucked in the back of the property and is the most private of the three cabins. We've just opened this cabin for January reservations with the caveat that there are winter conditions here in the woods of Maine. Come and enjoy the coziness of a warm, winter cabin visit!
This is a woodland setting located off of route 7 in Jackson. The early morning is filled with the sounds of birds and the warm evening nights are dotted with fireflies. This a beautiful and unique place to decompress from life and to have a little solitude between outings to the local beaches, lakes and hiking trails!
  • This is a lovely peaceful cabin in Maine. It is cozy, clean, and comfortable. Doreen and Jim are attentive hosts. I enjoy staying here when I get the chance. It is a wonderful place to recharge.

  • Second-timers to this wonderful cabin. Entering into the Beehive is like stepping into peace and tranquility. The decor and furnishings are both charming and comfortable. On a chilly night, the wood cooking stove provides cozy warmth. On a warm night, open the doors for cool breeze. In the morning, you can listen to the birds singing while enjoying a hot cup of coffee. I just can't fully explain how special this place is. The hosts, Jim and Doreen, make you feel so welcomed- we had a fantastic-smelling lit candle and warm stove waiting for us when we arrived. If you are looking for a "happy place", look no further!

  • The Beehive cabin was a truly delightful space for our Valentine's weekend getaway. Jim and Doreen were communicative and accessible while respecting our privacy, and truly hospitable. On the day of our arrival we drove through very wintry conditions and Jim had a fire going in the woodstove for us. The space was charming, clean, stylishly decorated and with all the basic amenities needed: comfortable furniture, reliable electricity and wifi, hot water and a truly gorgeous surrounding landscape. For those looking for fun winter activities (or year round!) nearby, there's Northern Solstice Alpaca Farm and the Community Market 20 minutes west in Unity and Jacobson Glass Studio half an hour south in Montville. We plan to stay again in the future and will recommend this host to friends and family.

  • Jim and Doreen’s cabin is so lovely. I highly recommend staying here, definitely coming back again!

  • What a unique property & down-to-earth couple! Jim & Doreen are great hosts. If you are into a rustic environment, with the opportunity for a true cabin experience, then this is the place. Very simple & comfortable. We stayed the first week of November, so we got to heat & cook with the old wood stove! Loved every aspect of being in a cabin!! Thank you Jim & Doreen!!

  • The cabin was so cozy! We wanted to pick it up and bring it with us to make it our new home. The hosts are very accessible but give you privacy. Everything was super clean and beautiful. Highly recommend this cabin!!!

  • If you are looking for a cozy, warm stay in a rustic cabin, Jim and Doreen's Bee Hive is ideal for one to two people. The cabin was neat and clean and perfect for my mid-October visit to Maine. Jim and Doreen were great at communicating with me in advance of my stay and absolutely accommodating in every way. I would highly recommend this cabin (and these hosts!) to anyone looking for an inexpensive getaway in Mid-Maine.

  • Staying in the beehive cabin was the highlight of our trip. It poured rain one day and we made a fort in the pillows on the bed in the loft and read and dozed. It was heaven!

Burleigh Street is a unique part of town in Waterville. Large old houses on a quiet street along the Messalonskee stream. Many of the houses date back to the late 1800s and early 1900s. Mr. Burleigh built our house in 1915. He and his family lived downstairs and his favorite aunt lived upstairs. Originally a two family house.
  • Thank you for opening up your home to my family and two dogs. It was a highlight of our trip. Hopefully we will be back next year.

Enjoy the splendid views over Pattee Pond.... Our cabin is situated on a quiet dirt road and we feel like it’s more relaxing and homey than a hotel stay... If you’re looking for that cozy, back-to-nature space to unwind, then this is the place to be!
While we are located in a woodsy lakefront setting, it’s only a short drive to grocery stores, restaurants and shops and parks
  • Great cozy cottage! Clean and ready to go with everything you need. Great views of the pond. Very relaxing place to be.

  • A rustic camp right on a pond facing east. Neighbors are close by and very nice. We enjoyed an a most amazing moonrise right from the deck looking across the pond. Gorgeous view. Mike and Paula responded quickly and were a delight to work with.

    Tim2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Mike & Paula's place could not have exceeded my expectations more! It was cozy, immaculately clean, a beautiful home, had wonderful amenities and spectacular views!! The water pressure was impressively strong for the house being RIGHT on the water, the water also got nice and hot for a shower. The bed was quite comfortable (I slept in the king in the bottom floor). The house has three large decks, each with a nice secure railing and a great view of the sunset and sunrise over the pond. The pond was frozen over and made for a fun place to walk around straight off the back of the property. In the warmer months that access straight into the water would be unbeatable! Paula and Mike left a binder on the kitchen table with some excellent recommendations - I took their suggestion for Mainely Brews, a short drive away, and the food was superb. I'd drive the hour north from my house just to eat there in the future. The home was very well-appointed with extra blankets, plenty of towels, a pair of dog bowls and a pair of dog beds for furry companions, salt, pepper, coffee, plenty of cookware and eating ware. Perhaps most of all, I was very impressed with how clean the house is. Even the gas stove was in pristine order! Paula was very timely, friendly, and helpful in our communications, and the long road in was well-maintained and easily passable even with fairly fresh snow on the ground. Overall, I had a wonderful experience at Mike & Paula's place with my dog, and look forward to returning in seasons and years to come!

    Devon2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Mike and Paula's place was cozy. They were quick to respond and it was very easy to find. It was very clean and we enjoyed our short overnight visit. We hope to visit again this Summer.

  • Amazing property the views are breathtaking. The house has so much room and amenities. Very clean well kept and the hosts are so thoughtful and kind. We had 7 adults total and 2 dogs. 2 people stayed in the bedroom with their dogs in the kennels that they brought. 1 person slept in the loft (but 2 would definitely fit). 1 person slept on the futon (but 2 would definitely fit). 1 person on the couch. 1 person slept on the big bed in the RV we were going to use the bunk beds but they are definitely for kids. And 1 person slept on the tent but for the last night moved their air mattress into the living room (it was going to rain bad) there was plenty of room in the living room for the queen air mattress and the futon was made into a bed we still had tons of food to walk around. They have lots of pans and pots a grill. There is a nice dinning area with lots of room. The outside table was perfect for our meals having breakfast out there was perfect. I cannot wait to plan my next trip there!

    Karen2019-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • I was initially hesitant to rent here because the listing didn't have any reviews at the time but am happy to say we were very pleased with our stay. My family includes my wife, 12 year old son, and 10 year old daughter. We have stayed on a lake in Maine each of the last 8 years and in general we look for the same things every year...the peace and tranquility of being on a lake, kayaking, fishing, swimming, and nights spent by the fire. James and Lily's place was great in all these respects. The views were exceptional whether from the cabin, sitting on the outside patio, or from the firepit. All offered incredible sunset views that we took in nightly. The kayaking was really nice because the water was so calm and James's place had 5 kayaks which came in super handy when 3 other family members joined us 1/2 way through our stay. Swimming was also nice with easy access to warm, shallow water right in front of the cabin. For those who like to fish we only fished later in the day but caught no less than (5) 14" + bass right off the dock including my daughter catching a 15" that she was super excited about. After fishing the fires at night were great with plenty of chairs and a captivating, star lit sky. This would have all been enough to make our stay special but I feel there are other features also worth mentioning. They include better than average privacy for lake rentals, a bigger than average yard which allowed us to set up a badminton net, regular sightings of the Eagles that live close by, comfortable beds in the house, a well appointed cabin with everything we needed, and multiple grocery options within 15 minutes. The only drawbacks were my daughter getting leaches on her when exploring water around the peninsula and a roadway in the distance being visible from the dock. With that said, neither came close to outweighing the many features that make this a great rental. With respect to the leaches I would point out that we all spent time in the water in front of the cabin daily with no issues so I would just advise to not swim on the shore of the peninsula. The road I referenced is not close and no noise could be heard during the day but is visible in the distance (only from the dock). At night some distant roadnoise could be heard sometimes but I only mention it in full disclosure to leave an accurate review rather than it being something that had a negative impact on our stay . Lastly, I should also mention that communication with the owner was outstanding with a super easy check in and out and the comfort of knowing James was available at a moments notice if needed. I should also probably mention that my kids loved the camper and slept in the bunks which became a fun place for them to unwind by themselves. So, if you are looking for a great lakefront stay on a large lot in a clean, well appointed home that is smaller but has a nice open floor plan you should give this one a closer look. Thank you James and Lily...we loved our stay!

    Jason2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • We had such an amazing time at James and Lily's place. From the beginning we felt welcomed and like we where at home. James and Lily did not overlook a single thing! When it says bring your towels and food, that is all you need! But if you are traveling from a distance to this amazing spot you can drive 20 min in either direction to go buy food at Hannafords or Wal-mart. Additionally James and Lily gave us tips about places on the pond to go and made sure we knew where things where located in the house. They checked in with us as well to make sure we did not have any questions or issues. We wish we could meet them in person and hang out around the fire. We spent 10 days enjoying the pond/lake, fishing off the dock, swimming, kayaking, having s'mores, playing board games and just relaxing on the deck. We had few days that there was a little rain but my family was amazed that there seemed to be no way to have a "bad day" on Sibley Pond. This place is truly amazing and we did not want leave and want to go back.

Rustic yet comfortable waterfront getaway. Good for couples and families (with kids).
Swim, fish and soak in the sun right from shore. A free public boat launch is nearby.
Quiet street with a mix of year-round and seasonal lakefront homes.
  • This is a really great place to get away from it all with friendly people in the neighbourhood. The kids enjoyed messing around on the lake front and swimming in the lake. The beds upstairs might be a bit soft for adults, but the kids enjoyed being able to sleep together upstairs.

We have a beautiful, clean efficiency apartment- like suite in a daylight basement on the Kennebec River. This is self check in. We are close to Kennebec Comm College, Colby College, Thomas College and Unity college. Even a wine and cheese shop Meridians . We are just walks away from the Messalonskee trail, this is a groomed trail that is alongside the Kennebec river. PLEASE see the pictures to make sure this is the right fit for you! READ OTHER NOTES BEFORE BOOKING!! Thanks.
This is a daylight "basement" suite. Does not have a full kitchen. This kitchenette has a single cook top with cookware, a toaster oven and microwave. Your stay here is close to town but just out enough to enjoy a peaceful place to relax. We have created a coastal Maine feel to our decor to help you experience an authentic Maine stay.
We are on a side street in a rural part of town. Benton is a small community. We usually use the amenities of the town of Fairfield, just across the river. We have neighbors that are quiet and friendly. We've lived here seventeen years. There's nothing else that compares. We love Maine's coastal area. We are an hour from Portland and fourty-five minutes to Belfast/Camden area. We love Bar Harbor and we can make it a day trip if we want.
  • Amazing stay great place.

  • Craig and Jen’s place is a great place to stop in the Waterville/Central Maine area! The area very nice and responsive and have a great view of the river. Thanks again!

    Liz2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Craig and Jen’s place was exactly as described in their listing. We found them easily and the steps to the private entrance were shoveled and sanded. The apartment was simple and convenient, similar to a hotel suite with kitchenette. We used the fold out cot, in addition to the double bed, which were both comfortable. We had everything we needed to prepare simple meals. We were able to quickly access downtown restaurants, the grocery store and the cross country ski trails. Read their bathroom notes - it was quirky but functional. We ended up kind of sit-showering, which was fine with us but could be tricky for others.

    Erin2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • I just want to let you know how much we enjoyed our stay,it really felt like being at home on a wonderful relaxing day,not an impersonal corporate cubicle. The river view was enchanting even on a dreary rainy December day,the ducks were awesome.

    Noelle2019-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • This space is cozy and right by the river! It rained on us when we stayed so we didn't get to enjoy the outside space. I loved the clawfoot tub. But, if you're much over 5'7", you won't be standing for a shower. Overall, I'd visit again earlier in the year!

    Erinn2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • Right on the river. Cute place. Everything we needed.

    Kim2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Craig & Jen were awesome! Their place was awesome and exactly what we wanted. Right between the places in Maine we wanting to visit (Bangor & Portland). Benton was awesome and had a lot of things to do as well. Great places to eat! The AirBnB had everything we needed. It was very clean and had anything you would need for a short stay! Would definitely stay there again if we come up that way another time :)

Our secluded, very quiet and private two bedroom cabin, plus loft, overlooks Sandy Pond, inhabited by bald eagles, loons, and herons. Watch beautiful sunrises and sunsets, and swim, fish and kayak from our dock. We're close to coastal Belfast, Unity, MOFGA (annual Common Ground Fair), Waterville, Acadia and Camden. Eat at The Lost Kitchen, visit the Amish, hike the Hills to Sea Trail.
Our cabin sits on a small peninsula jutting out into Sandy pond. We are conveniently located between Waterville in Central Maine and Belfast on the coast, each a short half hour away. We are on the same pond as Freedom's gourmet restaurant, "The Lost Kitchen," located in the restored Freedom Mill. Close by is the Maine Organic Farmers and Gardeners Association (MOFGA) in Unity, Unity College, and the Unity Center for the Performing Arts. The cabin is a perfect base for visiting the Common Ground Fair, Windsor Fair, the Amish country store and charcuterie. You can get to Liberty Graphics and the classic Liberty Tools in about twenty minutes. Best of all, the secluded lake is just steps away and usually you will find only birds once you are on the water. Bald Eagles nest a few hundred yards from the cabin and are seen almost daily. Loons, kingfishers, red-winged blackbirds, and fly catchers are common. During the fall Canadian geese visit as do a number of ducks and herons. The pond is stocked for fishing and the swimming in summer is wonderful. It is conveniently located for day trips to the coast, including north to Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park, and south to Camden, Rockport, Rockland, and Boothbay Harbor. The cabin is available only May through October.
Freedom in the summer and fall is magical. When you're on the lake it feels like wilderness. We are often the only people on the lake in the late afternoon. Watching the leaves turn in the fall is awe inspiring. While Freedom is a small town with only one general store and gas station, Unity has just about everything you might need from groceries to hardware, to restaurants and bars, as well as a free library at the College.
  • Nice cabin in the woods with great access to water. Views are spectacular. Hosts were attentive to all our needs.

  • We had the best time at this cabin. It has amazing views of the water and the lake is so peaceful. They had kayaks which made the experience more fun. The cabin has everything you could need and the pictures really do not do the cabin or it’s surroundings justice!

  • Very nice, comfortable clean cabin in the woods, on a lake. Very quiet location. Helpful hosts. We would stay there again if we ever get back to the area.

    Leslie2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • This cozy cabin is great. In the woods, on a quiet pond, kayaks, loons, bright stars, place is clean as a whistle, wood stove, wifi works, Will try and go again sometime.

    Chris2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is fantastic! Quiet, peaceful and cozy. We wish we had more time to spend here. Definitely adding it to our “must return” list!

    Nicole2019-10-01T00:00:00Z
  • Great cabin in the woods. Rustic, charming, and overall great! There was very tasty well water & thoughtful notes throughout. The kayaks & the lake were amazing, and the stars were incredible, too. The binder with local tips, maps, etc was very thorough. I’d love to come back for longer. They set up a cot in the loft for one of my kids & put some collectibles up high out of reach of the kids. Even though we didn’t use it, the wood stove was prepped to light if we needed it. The cabin decor was so interesting & the magazines were nice, too. Full kitchen & Great dining table to share a meal with the family. The master bedroom windows have the best view as the sun rises, but there are blinds to block out the light too. We heard an owl in the evening & saw many loons on the water. Lovely stay!

    Kristin2019-09-30T00:00:00Z

  • Dan is a great person. His home is cozy and warm. The twin beds were much more comfortable abd suprising as I expected college form style i was wrong. I also the the property layout. His helpful little cheat sheet of the area is perfect. If you've never been and you like seafood try anglers get the pie its worth it. The chickens were a nice touch and it was absolutely beautiful there. No complaints was a great place to visit.

  • Dan is an excellent host! Went above and beyond in accommodations, especially considering the cost! Beautiful cabin on a gorgeous property. The chickens were fun too!

  • The place is a cute log cabin in a nicely wooded area. It was close to Bangor and we used it as a central hub to explore Maine. Dan was very nice and helpful. Breakfast was included and it was nice having a vacation so we didn't have to eat out every meal. Enjoyed our stay and the peace and quite of the cabin.

  • A great, quiet place to stay. Dan is a fantastic and an accommodative host. My wife and I enjoyed our stay greatly.

    Thomas2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great value! This little homestead is very remote but closer to Bangor. You can sit on the front porch and feed the chickens. Out just admire the nature.

    Kimberly2019-10-07T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing log cabin with a private garden filled with vegetables, animals and surrounded by woods. A true get a way in the woods of Maine.

    Maddy2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a brilliant time staying with Dan! The log cabin is beautiful, well equipped, cosy, and so, so welcoming. Dan is a true gentleman, very laid back, and so gracious and considerate. The guest experience has been so throughly thought about - everything was labelled for the convenience of the guests, from kitchen cupboards, to light switches, to shelves in the linen closets where fresh, clean towels were provided on a help-yourself basis. The beds were cosy and clean, the living space snug and friendly. The garden is incredable! If you are an animal lover, then there are chickens that roam free, who will run up to you if you shake the jar of cracked corn that lives on the porch. It was a brilliant, brilliant stay! Highly recommended!

  • We really enjoyed the cabin in the woods, and both host and guests were very hospitable.

  • The cabin is a beautiful place to stay. The nature around is amazing. If you stay here during warmer weather, I recommend looking up at the sky as it is beyond beautiful. You are able to see all the stars. Living in the city has made me appreciated the little moments of nature that I experience and this is definitely one that will stick! Larry is an excellent host, he made sure we felt welcomed. He was always a quick text away. If we ever come back we will be staying here again! Thank you so much, one last time!

  • A unique place to stay with lots of history. Truly enjoyed our stay at this cabin and if we ever make it back to Skowhegan, I’m sure we will stay here again!

  • We spent a very nice weekend at Larrys' place after an afternoon of snowshoeing at Sugarloaf (about 1h drive). Larry was very welcoming and very helpful. The place is really cute and cozy. I would definitely recommend to stay there. Best,

  • Absolutely the place to stay in Skowhegan! This home is unique yet cozy. I would recommend staying at Larry's cabin to anyone I know!

    Virene2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • If you're looking for a weekend escape, genuine hospitality, and beautiful views, then Larry's place in the place for you. My husband and I needed a break from the chaos of the city, and we were able to hang at this awesome cabin for a low key weekend in Skowhegan, Maine. It's rare (or at least in my experience) that you get to meet the person who owns the place you'e staying in, but Larry made sure to check in on us! We spent an hour talking with him and learned much about the area. Additionally, we were able to bring our black lab, Crosby, who probably loved the space more than we did. Thank you, Larry, for a much needed break from reality. We'll definitely be back this summer!

A nature lovers delight. This cabin is located off the beaten path, nestled in the woods, down a BUMPY dirt road. Lots of wild life, four wheeling trail, secluded and private with a large outdoor space. Deer, bird watching and wild life. Path to river across the Street. We spent last year updating the whole cabin. New paint, flooring and accessories.
500 sq. ft. well kept cabin, with a open living, full kitchen, bedroom space, and a separated bathroom. A/C , heat, hot water. Fully furnished, dishes, coffee pot, cook ware, linens. 50” flatscreen internet TV. DVD player & DvDs to choose from. Outside eating area, fire pit with wood, hammock, and gas grill. A happy, quite, relaxing place to stay.
The nearest big city, Waterville, is 20-25 mins away. Two nearsest towns, pittsfield and clinton, are a 15 min drive. Belfast coast 35-40 mins, beautiful (website hidden) harbour and Acadia national park an hour an a half away. 12 minutes from unity college & Central Maine Institute. Colby college 20 minutes.
  • My family and I had the best time visiting Maine’s Common Ground Fair 2018. The cozy cabin was the perfect location to stay and be close by the event. The description given of the cabin is spot on. Especially the fact that you will be taking a dirt road that is very bumpy. The cabin # is clearly marked at the driveway leading to the cabin. From booking to checkout communication between host and guest included quick, kind responses. The weekend that we visited was very wet and rainy. We enjoyed the amenities, next visit we hope to have a campfire. This location is definitely on the list to visit again. -The Buffington’s

  • Private, short walk to river..

    Dana2018-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • It couldn't be any easier for a pair of city slickers to slip into a secluded Maine getaway than this. The property was well kept with homey touches, like flowers lining the stoop, lots of books and art on the walls, and comfy furniture. But the real treat here is that you can have a completely private getaway with all the amenities you need- everything from bug spray to lighter fluid to an extension cord- at your disposal. If you forgot it, Delight probably already has it there for you. It was easy to check in, get a fire going, and sit back and relax in the great outdoors. We cooked most meals over the smaller fire pit with the handy grate on top - it was divine!

  • This space is great for a secluded getaway. My boyfriend and I visited for a relaxing weekend away from home, but with the futon and air mattress you could probably fit more people if you had a more active schedule. The outside was beautiful and there was plenty of space to cook breakfast and dinner. Overall a great spot!

  • The cosy cabin in Burnham was spectacular. Very private and secluded. We stayed four nights and enjoyed every minute of it.

  • Great place to get away with your friends or significant other.

    Cooper2017-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • It's a little one room cabin, off the beaten path, but clean and quiet. Enjoyed being there.

Quiet cozy country cottage on Big Indian Lake. The cottage is located on an island connected by a causeway. There are 17 other homes on the island. This is a perfect area for fishing, boating, swimming or just sitting in the adirondack chairs watching the loons and taking in the sounds of nature.
Quiet cozy country cottage on Big Indian Lake. The cottage is located on an island connected by a causeway. There are 17 other homes on the island. This is a perfect area for fishing, boating, swimming and all water-sports, not to mention the haunting sounds of loons. The small main house has 1 bedroom, a sleeper sofa and futon and sleeps six people. The bunk house has a bunk bed ( 1 twin and 1 full) and a sleeper sofa and sleeps 5. The cottage has a full kitchen includes all you would need for dining in. Also included are: cable TV, Internet and Wi-fi, DVD player, grill, towels, sheets, pillows, etc. Very clean and neat.
It is generally a quiet place where our neighbors are friendly and the lake is lovely. It is also very pet friendly but dogs must be on a leash when walking around the island.
  • Beautiful location. Had an incredible time with friends right on the water.

    Ben2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful spot, quiet spot on the lake. The main cabin has everything you need from coffee maker, to kayaks, fire pit & plenty of space to lounge around inside or outside. Really nice spot! Very clean, well decorated with cute decor throughout.

  • Wow. Where do I start? Elaine was a wonderful host. You can tell that she put her heart and soul into the property. We’ve stayed at other cottages in the past, but this one, by far, was our favorite. There was plenty of space for our family of eight and two dogs to enjoy. Between the main house and the bunkhouse, everyone slept comfortably. You only need to bring your clothes, toiletries, and food. Everything else is at your disposal. We never needed to leave the island for our five day trip. There is free wifi and cable TV that we never used because there was always something to do. We spent our time swimming, kayaking, using the paddle boat, and hanging out by the fire pit. We also enjoyed hanging out on the dock and swimming out to the floating dock. The scenery was breathtaking and the atmosphere was very tranquil. The neighbors are very friendly and always waved when we were kayaking or walking our dogs. I highly recommend this cottage to anyone who wants to get away from it all for a while.
