This cosy luxurious self contained oak frame cabin offers the perfect peaceful setting for a relaxing getaway. Listen out and you may hear the owls at night. Backing onto the National Trust Ashridge Forest, this is perfect for outdoor lovers but equally suitable for a romantic night in. 1.5 miles down the road, the popular market town of Berkhamsted is offering atmospheric pubs and bars for a special treat out. The cabin offers comfortable, spacious living with King size bed.
Although the cabin is within the grounds of the main property, it is completely separated off by thick hedge rows to offer complete privacy to our guests. A path alongside the house leads the guests to their own entrance of the cabin. This cabin features all you need for a comfortable stay- a small bathroom with shower facility, a spacious open plan living room, an open plan kitchen with a hob and convection microwave oven grill and a comfortable King Size bed on the Mezzanine level, accessed by a ladder. It is furnished with cosy lighting, two comfortable sofas and a dining table. The cabin features a TV as well as a large DVD selection and Hi-Fi system. Kitchen: We also provide utensils so that our guests can choose to stay in and prepare their own meal if they wish. The back gate allows you to walk straight into the woods to explore 5000 acres of deer filled forest and its other wildlife. A 20 minute walk away you may wish to refresh yourself in the upmarket and cosy pub, the Alford Arms, in the idyllic Frithsden Valley where they even have their own vineyard. The cabin is only 1.5 miles away from the popular and trendy town centre of Berkhamsted, featuring a range of lively pubs and restaurants.
Our cosy little wood cabin is backing straight onto the woods, located in a quiet setting of the sleepy village Potten End, just minutes away from popular old market town Berkhamsted. You can literally walk out of the back gate into the woods and explore the nature. Here are a few tips and activities in the area: Ashridge Estate - a 5,000 acre area of the Chiltern Hills with beech and oak woodlands, commons and chalk downlands. These very different landscapes each support a rich variety of wildlife, including carpets of bluebells in spring, rare butterflies in summer and the fallow deer that rut in autumn. You can walk out of the back gate of the property into the woods and explore Miles of footpaths and bridleways. Frithsden Vineyard – Literally a 30 minute walk through the woods, and you will get to this beautiful boutique English vineyard and winery set in the foothills of the Chilterns. Besides a range of regular seasonal events you can also pass by and enjoy some of their home produced wines. Berkhamsted Town centre and Castle – have a stroll through Berkhamsted highstreet and explore Berkhamsted Castle's remains. The town has a special place in our history: following the Saxon defeat at the Battle of Hastings, it was at Berkhamsted that the bishops and noblemen formally offered William the Conqueror the crown. The Rex – "possibly Britain's most beautiful cinema" (BBC), the Rex has one huge screen set in a glorious 1938 art-deco proscenium arch, with "the sharpest film projection and clearest non-booming sound anywhere in the world". The whole experience is delightfully civilized: sink into large, comfortable seats then sit back with cheese and wine to enjoy the film. Berkhamsted Waterways Walk – Go for a walk along the River Bulbourne andGrand Union Canal which run through the town and enjoy a cold drink in the popular Boat pub. Tring Natural History Museum – 5 miles from Berkhamsted. The wonderful galleries of this beautiful Victorian museum present a fascinating range of animals, from tiny dressed fleas to a smiling polar bear and domestic dogs. The Snow Centre – 5 miles from Berkhamsted. Britain's newest snow centre at Hemel Hempstead is currently the coolest place to go to enjoy skiing, snowboarding and other snow sports on indoor slopes of real snow. The main slope is 160m long and 30m wide, serviced by two POMA button lifts. The trainer slope is 100m long, with two rope tows. There are lessons for everyone new to snow, and clothing and equipment is on hand to hire. Whipsnade Zoo – 9 miles from Berkhamsted. Set on the slopes of the Chiltern Hills, the UK's biggest zoo is home to more than 2,500 animals, many of which are endangered in the wild. Whipsnade is noted for creating interactive and inspiring exhibits and popular daily events including keeper talks, animal feeds and demonstrations. You can drive through the 'Passage through Asia' or take the free Safari bus which stops at all the main exhibits in the 600 acre site. Harry Potter, Warner Bros. Studio Tour – the Making of Harry Potter – 9.7 miles from Berkhamsted. A visit to the Harry Potter World offers you an insight behind the scenes to showcase a huge array of beautiful sets, costumes and props and to reveal the secrets of the special effects and animatronics that made these films hugely popular all over the world.

  • The cabin is a unique and secluded find; perfect for couples after a cosy getaway. The cabin’s amenities are well thought out and the whole place was spotless. Checking in and out was super simple. The surrounding area has plenty to offer and guests who are new to the area are provided with plenty of useful info. We loved our stay here.

  • We will definitely be returning, and hopefully when the weather is better - the only thing that could have topped our stay is if the sun was shining!

  • Lilli’s oak cabin is beautiful. Privately situated next to a pretty woodland, it is warm, cosy peaceful and has a special quality of being both rustic and elegant. It has everything you’d need to feel at home, as well as some lovely additonal touches. The surrounding countryside, quaint old towns and villages are stunning. Perfect for a romantic getaway.

Recently redecorated to a high standard and a new bathroom suite, plus new 8 person Swedish Hot-Tub by the pool. London only 30 miles away.

HOUSE & GARDEN: The Summer house is the 5th bedroom and is situated in the garden by the veggie patch. There are multiple games (Croquet, Badminton, Rounders, Cricket, Football etc.) that can be found in the Games Box at the bottom of the large lawn. There is a trampoline (no net) in the garden, please be sure that children are supervised. There is also a BOULE Court for those who like a game of 'Petanque'. The house is close to footpaths accessible through a gate at the top of the garden which leads to a lovely circular walk around the local stud farm where there are numerous horses, alpacas, donkeys and a large black pig. There is also a footpath that takes you up onto the famous Ridgeway path that runs the length of The Chiltern Hills and passes through Combe Hill (noted in the 100 Best Views in England book by Simon Jenkins). The property has a large patio area with round table & parasol, there is a decked pergola with stunning views and many other outside seating areas and a swing in the large chestnut tree, there is also a swing bench under the willow & a whicker swing chair. If you would like wood provided please ask in advance and I can purchase them for you. Logs are £7 & Kindling £6 p/bag from the local garden centre.
There are a number of wonderful things to experience in the area most notably some beautiful villages, walks and exceptional pubs. A list of these and their contact details will be provided on arrival in the 'Information Manual'. There is an information board in the utility room with further information and a rack of pamphlets in the entrance hall with various things to do and see plus many OS walking maps of the area. If any visitors would like to experience a 'Balloon Ride' across the Chiltern Hills this can be organised (weather & season permitting). POINTS OF INTEREST: The famous Roalh Dahl Museum is close-by in Great Missenden and a great thing to do with kids. Odds Farm & Bekonscot Model Village are a 20 min drive away near Beaconsfield and perfect for families. Waddesdon Manor (NT) is a must see Rothschild stately home and open to the public. Coombe Hill is a local monument walk with phenomenal views. There is a local company who offer Hot Air Balloon rides during the season (please ask if you'd like to book this in advance). PUBS & RESTAURANTS: There is a list of local pubs, restaurants and points of interest when you arrive but here are a few of my favourite pubs to start you off... The Royal Standard of England Pub - Forty Green (the oldest freehouse in England at 900 years old) is a must when in the area. A 15 minute drive but well worth it. The Red Lion - Little Missenden The Full Moon - Little Kingshill The Old Swan - Swan Bottom The Nags Head - Great Missenden The Elephant & Castle - Old Amersham The Russell Arms - Butlers Cross (Coombe Hill walk nearby) The Plough - Cadsden (great circular walk) The Cross Keys - Great Missenden RESTAURANTS in Great Missenden (we mostly eat in the Pubs ;) Sukhothai - Thai in Great Missenden New Akash - Indian in Great Missenden OLD AMERSHAM - only 5 miles away and has 5 excellent pubs: The Elephant & Castle The Saracens The Kings Arms The Swan Inn The Eagle There are also a host of great places to eat in Old Amersham: The Crown Hotel Artichoke (Michelin starred restaurant) Gilbey's restaurant (excellent food) Cote Brasserie Ask Pizza Prezzo Seasons Cafe and Deli The Grocer coffee shop .... as well as some excellent shopping and a large Tesco. Great Missenden is the home of the world famous Roald Dahl museum, while Peterley Farm Shop (3 miles away) offers pick-your-fruit, a great farm shop and a lovely restaurant in their "pop-up" yurt! *The Sir Charles Napier - Michelin Star pub/restaurant in Chinnor is a little further away than our local spots but definitely a must if you want to splash out !! Beaconsfield is 10 miles away and High Wycombe is 7 miles. WALKS There are many walks in the area that join the famous South Bucks Way & Ridgeway path. Coombe Hill is probably one of the most spectacular views anywhere in the Chiltern Hills. Most walks (if followed correctly) take to one of our local pubs. There are OS Maps available at the house if you need them.
  • We have just spent our second family celebration at The Limes. Nolan and Lisa are excellent hosts and were helpful and thoughtful. The Limes is beautifully equipped with lots of thoughtful little touches. It is immaculately clean and tidy which helped make our stay fantastic. I can’t recommend highly enough. We are planning to return next year in Summer to make use of the beautiful facilities. Thanks again.

  • Great property in a lovely rural location but close to Grt Missenden. I hosted a birthday party here and it had everything for our needs. The place itself is homely, has new bathrooms and comtians most things you’d need for a weekend. Nolan was a helpful shot and flexible on the checkout time. Only thing I would flag are the surveillance cameras throughout which aren’t mentioned in the description and made some of my Guests feel a little uncomfortable. Otherwise, great stay and would recommend.

    Joanna2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing spot, great friendly hosts. Highly recommended.

    Matias2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful home. Fantastic outside space. Nolan and Lisa were brilliant hosts and nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely recommend.

    Sam2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Nolan and Lisa’s home has bags of character and it’s setting can’t fail to win your heart. This is not a shouty house, but a discreet gem, tucked away, that delivers in every direction. It’s beautifully presented and very homely. I can’t thank Nolan and Lisa enough for their cooperation in helping us with our special event.

  • Wow! We stayed here for a family holiday, guests ranging from just under 2 years - 75 years old and it catered for all. Lovely comfortable, homely feel to the house and gardens, everything you need. Spotlessly clean and welcoming. We had 10 guests and a few day visitors! Excellent hosts, quick to respond and although they live on site, were very discreet and didn’t really see. Guest house is Awesome, like a little haggrid cottage from Harry Potter, don’t let the no toilet facilities put you off! Would love to come back again next year.

    Dennise2019-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Book this place with no hesitation, it is very nice and comfortable, and not very far from central London. Of course, weather can be unpredictable, but rain or shine, we enjoyed every moment!

    Krista2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • We had the best stay here to celebrate with our closest friends for my brothers stag do. The location is absolutely stunning and it couldn’t have been a more perfect setting for having a BBQ and drinks. Nolan was a brilliant host, helpful and insightful about the local area and the amenities in the grounds, and also a funny and great guy all around. Would thoroughly recommend here and will have great memories of our stay for a long time.

Beautiful 4 bed bungalow situated in stunning countryside. There are two great village pubs that offer evening meals. If your looking for a quite space, then look no further! We are home most of the time but tend to keep ourselves out of the way when we have guests. Please note over a weekend my minimum numbers are 8 people, and we can cater up to 14 people but this involves the use of the living room as an additional bedroom.
Beautiful 4 bed house in Studham, Bedfordshire, only 15 mins from a mainline train station which links directly to London in only 35 mins. PLEASE NOTE: THE POOL IS ONLY HEATED BETWEEN MAY AND SEPTEMBER, outside these months the pool is UNAVAILABLE. The property is located in a traditional English village, located near Whipsnade Zoo and about 10 mins by car to Luton Airport. What to see and do : Gliding club Whipsnade park Golf Club Plenty of country walks Ivinghoe Beacon Dunstable Downs - great for kite flying and pic-nics! Award winning Village pubs, providing evening meals and also do cooked breakfast on a weekend Cycle rides Ashridge country park Horse riding - Ashridge Horse Trecking Indoor Ski Slope - Hemel Hempstead Breakfast consisting of cereals, toast, tea and coffee will be provided. These patio doors can be locked and the key removed if you are worried about the children wondering into the pool area without supervision! You will have your own private bathroom although this is not en -suite. However I will only let out to one party at a time so you will never be sharing a bathroom with strangers! If you are a large party don’t worry we have 3 bathrooms plus 2 additional WC rooms so you will never be short of a shower or loo! PLEASE NOTE: THE POOL IS ONLY HEATED BETWEEN MAY AND SEPTEMBER, outside these months the pool is UNAVAILABLE. During the winter months we usually empty the pool for maintenance, however I will make sure that the spa pool is nice and hot for you if you request it! When the pool is heated the hot tub is available for an additional fee. Pets are NOT allowed I have a travel cot and high chair available for babies. Please note - I do have two cats so if you are allergic then I don't think this will be the best place for you. Although the cats are generally not allowed into the bedrooms.
Lovely traditional English village with 2 great pubs, surrounded by beautiful countryside with easy access to London.
  • My four girls and I spent five nights at Liesa’s house. We were made to feel very welcome. Her house is amazing! The girls loved feeding the animals and gathering eggs. Liesa goes above and beyond to make your stay special. An example of this was the time she spent teaching my youngest to knit. Chloe was absolutely delighted with the flower they made together. We have already booked our next stay!

    Angela2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and good comfy beds. Very accommodating host.

    Iain2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • This was a great couple of nights in an amazing home. The beds were really comfy, the hot tub was great, lots of firdge/storage space for food that we got delivered from Tesco to the house. There was 12 of us and we were a very loud bunch and Liesa was very understanding of this. Could not fault the trip at all and would deffinitely recommend, either for big groups or a nice couple's retreat to the countryside. On New Years day we all went on a walk and Liesa recommended a great route, which ended at the lovely Bell pub a short walk down the road from the house. The animals are cute and we felt really at home. The kitchen is great for big group meals to cook and plenty of space to dance! All in all a perfect stay.

  • Great host. The house was amazing. Highly recommended

    Philip2019-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Liesa has an incredible house. Her attention to the details and clever decoration ideas transformed our stay into a once in a lifetime experience. Hopefully we can repeat this one day! ;)

    Victor2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • The 5-star reviews on this place are no joke---indeed, they are most accurate. The place is beautiful with plenty of fun and relaxation to be had inside and outside. The house is gorgeous with a spacious and comfortable living room, large dining space, decent sized swimming pool, and a hot-tub. There are really nice and quaint local pubs and stunning countryside walks. If you didn't already feel like you would have sufficient activities, there are multiple geocaching spots and a wildlife park within a short distance. Eight of us spent the weekend here for a stag-do and had a fantastic time. I couldn't recommend this place more highly.

The barn is 200 years old situated in an English cottage garden. On the outside it's traditional wood painted black which opens up to a fabulous 30 square metres studio room which is bright and warm. It's characterful, comfortable and romantic.
The interior of Old Store's Barn is recently refurbished. It has a botanical feel to it with plant and bird artwork in the kitchenette and floral oil paintings in the living area. It has a cathedral ceiling with fantastic oak beams. The sleeping area has a comfortable king size bed beneath a gilded antique mirror. The living area has a small sofa, an armchair and a coffee table and there is a small dining table for eating or working at. The kitchenette is behind a low wall looking on to the living area. It has an oak worktop with cupboards underneath and is equipped with a kettle, Nespresso coffee machine, microwave, toaster, fridge freezer and sink. There is a bathroom with a shower, loo and basin which has a heated and illuminated mirror above. The shower is really powerful and has a rainfall head as well as a hand held one. The whole area has underfloor heating. The wooden door is hidden behind a typical barn stable door.

  • We wanted a place with a hot tub for a relaxed Saturday night. Brilliant place, lots of space and an amazing hot tub which we enjoyed even at just 6 degrees. Everything you need kitchen wise, was available. Although we didn't have any children with us, you can tell it is a child friendly place by the amount of toys in the living room. Would definitely consider it again.

A quiet retreat in a beautiful village not too far from London in Little Gaddesden near Berkhamsted you will find this 5 bedroom Coach House. It is on the outskirts of Ashridge - which was King Henry the 8th's hunting lodge. The house has private access to the unspoilt and often unknown 5000 acres deer park known as Ashridge. It is perfect for walkers and cyclists.
Fabulous location for walkers and cyclists. Walking in Ashridge is amazing. See link from National Trust for various walks around the estate. (URL HIDDEN)
Little Gaddesden From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia St. Peter and St. Paul Church at Little Gaddesden, where many Egerton family members are buried in the Bridgewater Chapel Little Gaddesden is a village and civil parish in the English county of Hertfordshire three miles north of Berkhamsted. As well as Little Gaddesden village (population 694), the parish contains the settlements of Ashridge (population 53), Hudnall (population 139), and part of Ringshall (population 81).[1] The total population at the 2011 Census was 1,125.[2] Part of the parish was formerly in Buckinghamshire. This includes Witchcraft Bottom, notable as the alleged location where the last witch in Buckinghamshire was tried and hanged. The village of Little Gaddesden borders both Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire, whilst being situated in the county of Hertfordshire. Little Gaddesden and the surrounding area of the Ashridge Estate is owned and managed by the National Trust. This area has been used in many films, notably: First Knight, Stardust, the Harry Potter series, Son of Rambow and more recently Robin Hood starring Russell Crowe. TV programmes filmed here include Marchlands, Midsomer Murders Lewis, Cranford, and a Jamie Oliver[3] advertisement for Sainsburys. Little Gaddesden has many period properties, of note: Ashridge House, (designed by Sir James Wyattville along with gardens and grounds designed by Sir Humphrey Repton and Capability Brown - Golden Valley) The Manor House situated on the Green along with John O’Gaddesden House and Marian House, Little Gaddesden House along Nettleden Road heading towards the hamlet of Nettleden and the Old Rectory past the village shop heading to Ringshall. Lamsey Farm - (URL HIDDEN) - 193359 The Ashridge Estate that surrounds the village is a 5,000-acre (20 km2) area of open countryside and woodland on the edge of the Chiltern Hills, with a rich variety of wildlife including fallow dear, muntjac and the renowned red kite. There are large areas of mature woodlands with carpets of spring bluebells and fine autumnal displays, along with the panorama from the Bridgewater Monument. In the early 17th century, Thomas Egerton, 1st Viscount Brackley, had purchased Ashridge House, one of the largest country houses in England, from Queen Elizabeth I, who had inherited it from her father who had appropriated it after the Dissolution of the Monasteries in 1539. Ashridge House served the Egerton family as a residence until the 19th century. The Egertons later had a family chapel (the Bridgewater Chapel) with burial vault in Little Gaddesden Church,[4] where many monuments commemorate the Dukes and Earls of Bridgewater and their families.[5] Among those buried here is the 3rd Duke of Bridgewater,[6] famous as the originator of British inland navigation and the Bridgewater Canal. Little Gaddesden is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and a Conservation Area protected by the National Trust. There is a vigorous community life with 30 different clubs and societies. The oldest of these is probably the Women's Institute (founded in 1919) and the Royal British Legion. Local amenities include the famous Ashridge Golf Course, Alford Arms public house, Bridgewater Arms public house, Little Gaddesden village shop and post office, Munn's Farm Shop, Grove Farm, Little Gaddesden Primary School, Little Gaddesden Cricket Club, Ivinghoe Beacon, Pitstone Windmill, Frithsden Vineyard, Gaddesden Place, the Gaddesden Estate, Walter Swinburn racing stables, Stocks House, Ashridge Business School also known as Ashridge House, London Gliding Club, Dunstable Downs and Whipsnade Zoo. Nearby villages and Hamlets: Aldbury, Great Gaddesden, Gaddesden Row, Frithsden, Nettleden, Potten End, Ivinghoe, Northchurch, Ringshall, Studham, Dudswell, Wigginton, Dagnall, Flamstead. Local residents are kept updated on events in Little Gaddesden through the Gaddesden Diary, published seasonally. The Parish News also provides a further summary. Famous residents who live in the village, include: football commentator John Motson, Formula One driver Mark Webber,[7] ex-footballers Luther Blissett and Tim Sherwood, actor Adrian Scarborough, news correspondent Fiona Bruce and radio presenter Roger Bolton. Singer Sarah Brightman was brought up in the village. Entrepreneur and founder of Barenaturals Darcey Croft, was born and raised in the village, Ronnie Wood, a member of the Rolling Stones, owns a house in the village.
  • I highly recommend the house for a great get away, the house is amazing and Jan provides a lovely welcome. Would happily have stayed for longer and explored the area more.

  • An incredible, beautiful venue with plenty of room, great for our group of friends during some particularly rainy weekend. Janette is an incredible host providing us with a lovely lasagne and loads of breakfast food. We were really impressed. Unfortunately there was a little trouble with the hot tub, but we were kept up to date by Janette and we were still able to thoroughly relax and enjoy ourselves. We would definitely return again.

  • Lovely location, lovely house and lovely host. Will definitely be back again!

  • Jan and her Airbnb are lovely! Jan was full of helpful suggestions and quick with communication. The Airbnb looks fab, was really toasty and has great communal spaces perfect for larger groups. Thanks for a lovely stay Jan!

  • We had a fabulous weekend at Jan's place. Everything was really wonderful and it couldn't have been better. Jan left a fantastic hamper for us with breakfast goodies, fizz and lasagne for supper too which was very well received and we loved it. The house is really lovely and warm and the hot tub a real treat too. The location was perfect with a great pub within walking distance for a post hike reward. The local surroundings are gorgeous and we really enjoyed stretching our legs. The local shop is very handy for any extras you may need. We had a fantastic Chinese take away with very prompt delivery service. A really fabulous touch was the Alexas! We had forgotten ours but luckily the house had not just one but too and so we had music to while away the hours relaxing in front of the roaring fire. Thank you Jan for a super weekend and we will most definitely return as it was the perfect country retreat for this group of mums on tour xx

    Jacqueline2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful house in lovely area. Surprisingly good for young children, not having stairs to worry about, and having such a great garden (especially in summer). Communication with Janette was excellent and she went the extra mile preparing cot, highchair etc. We were greeted with a selection of foodstuffs so that you don't immediately have to dash out to buy things. Beds comfortable with beautiful bed linen and a lovely sitting area. Would happily recommend it.

  • This place is superb! All that we needed and more for a wonderful weekend away with friends and family. The extra touches and thoughtful gestures made it even more special. Plenty of space, beautiful house and garden.

  • Our stay (houseparty) for my daughter's 30th birthday weekend with family and friends was beyond expectations. The accommodation is very versatile and top draw (we loved the Aga in the kitchen). Our hosts Sandra and Michael were so helpful whilst remaining unobtrusive. We had dinner prepared and served for us on the Saturday night and the food was excellent. We are working out when we can return for another stay!

    Andrew2019-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely house and grounds right next to the zoo. We felt very welcome and the space is relaxing for a family break. Sandra thought of everything we might need and even bought some flowers for our special anniversary. Would definitely recommend.

    Carol2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Very good quality accommodation, close to Harry Potter Studios and Tring Station which serves London very easily. This accommodation has the advantage of quiet staying close to the sites we wanted to visit. Address to advise!

    David2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • The place is outstanding.. Sandra is very kind.

    Mazita2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing house, beautiful gardens and fantastic location. Exceeded our expectations for a family celebration. Sandra was fantastic at answering my questions and giving advice before our arrival and the fact our shopping was delivered and unpacked when we got there was a great touch. There are some house rules to be mindful of, and one which we weren’t made aware of until our second day (children were not allowed in the area of garden directly outside the kitchen, main dining room and sitting room). We were not made aware of this before booking or during our welcome tour and may not have selected the accommodation based on this as our party included children. That said we would happily recommend this beautiful house, with lovely hosts (and a fantastic swimming pool!)

    Jessica2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time at Frog Corner, celebrating my Mum’s 70th birthday. The house is spotless and really lovely and unique. The grounds are beautiful and the children loved exploring in a safe, but exciting space. We loved the swimming pool and Lucky the dog!

    Eleanor2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Sandra and Michael are very friendly people and not to forget their lovely dog, Lucky. The house is full of character and spacious . Big garden to stroll around and relax was a big plus. We would definitely come again. Thank you both!

The Garden Room at The Old Bakehouse. Self contained with independent access we have everything you need for a comfortable stay - high quality bedlinen; en suite bathroom with White Company toiletries; Nespresso machine; sunny breakfast space. On the edge of the Chilterns, a short drive from Tring Station, three trains an hour to London. Local attractions include Whipsnade Zoo, Tring Museum, The Making of Harry Potter at Leavesden Studios, Bletchley Park, Waddesdon Manor and the Ashridge Estate.
The Old Bakehouse was built around 1840 and The Garden Room was converted in 2018 from our office and shed. The bed is a handmade four poster UK king size with new Caspar mattress and good quality bedlinen, bedside lights, Kettle and Nespresso coffee machine, Sophie Conran crockery, White Company toiletries. We have a child's travel cot and a child's inflatable bed, but there's not much room although children are welcome. Before our time the privies for all five cottages (now only two) stood here. The Bakehouse was a two storey wooden building added on to the row, housing a communal bread oven for the cottages to reduce the risk of fire. In the 1980 the bakehouse was converted to the current main house sitting room and master bedroom. Access to Old Bakehouse is by foot from Chequers Lane along a short path in front of the adjoining house and through the gate pictured. Parking is in the street right outside. We'll make sure the nearest space is available for you. We are happy for dogs to stay so long as they have their own bed with them. Although all at ground floor level we are not DDA compliant.
The villages of Pitstone and Ivinghoe are at the foot of the Chiltern Hills. The modern Pitstone Green business park is a short walk away, but the most famous landmarks are Pitstone windmill and Ivinghoe Beacon. This is an excellent location for walkers, just a short step up to the Ridgeway national long distance footpath, ending at Ivinghoe Beacon, or the National Trust's Ashridge Estate 5000 acres of beech woodland. If you prefer to stay on the level, the Grand Union Canal and its subsidiaries can take you on the towpath to Tring Reservoirs or the nearby market towns of Wendover, Aylesbury, Leighton Buzzard and Berkhamsted. Just round the corner in Pitstone there is a village shop, take away wood-fired pizzeria and Chinese restaurant. In Ivinghoe there is the local award winning Haldi Indian restaurant, CuriosiTea coffee shop and tea room, the Rose and Crown Pub and one of 'Britain's finest restaurants' The Kings Head. there is also a pharmacy, post office and shop, and hairdresser. Nearby in Tring there are three top class restaurants including Crockers Chef's Table. Pendley Manor and Ashridge House both popular wedding venues are a short drive away.

Barley End is one of seventeen holiday cottages at Town Farm, on the edge of the Chilterns. We are a working arable farm, with some sheep over the surrounding hills, we are lucky to have views over to Ivinghoe Beacon on one side, and Aylesbury Vale on the other. All the cottages each have their own unique charm, and we also run a campsite during the summer months. It is only a ten minute drive to Tring Railway Station, shops and facilities, or a ten minute walk to Ivinghoe village, with pub, shop and tea room. Barley End is a homely, self-catering property with spacious open plan living space and a paved courtyard to the rear. The property is all ground floor, with ramp to front door, and wet room. The open plan living area has a modern, fully equipped kitchen area with cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washer dryer and large dining counter. The lounge which comfortably seats four has a large sofa, motorized recliner chair and a flat screen TV with DVD player. The property has two bedrooms, one with a king size bed, and one with a single bed. The wet room has a large shower and a heated towel rail and tilt-able mirror. The patio area at the rear of the property is private and is accessible by a permanent ramp. This property benefits from heating by electric radiators. Please note that rental includes GBP20 per week towards electricity. Any extra is charged as used on a non-profit basis. This allows us to remain as environmentally green as possible. Parking for two cars is available per property. Up to two pets are welcome in the property, please let us know on booking. Wi-fi is included in the rental. The property has access to a tennis court which is available to hire, games room and a children`s play area.  We request a refundable GBP100 damage deposit for stays of up to 27 days, and one week`s rental for stays of over 28 days. Please see our terms and conditions for further details.
All our properties on Town Farm are comfortably furnished and offer all the convenience of your own home, all with fully equipped kitchens, some with dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer. Linen and towels are also provided, together with an information pack in the property, with a list of local activities and things to do. The location of the farm means that we have lovely views over the Vale of Aylesbury and Ivinghoe Beacon, so we are in the middle of the countryside, and yet only 10 minutes to shops, railway station and a wealth of activities the area has to offer.
We love the area because you can be in the middle of the countryside one minute and hopping on the train for a 50 minute ride to London the next. The Chilterns offer a wide variety of activities, from National Trust properties, walking through the bluebell woodlands, driving through the picturesque "Midsomer" villages, to visiting Tring Zoological museum, swooping down the real snow in Milton Keynes Snozone, or playing Top Golf in Watford. All within 30/40 minutes of the farm. We are also close to the Grand Union Canal which stretches from London to Birmingham and which offers leisurely walks and boat hire. We are also only around an hour from Stratford on Avon, a little further to Oxford and Cambridge, and is a good basis for sightseeing.
  • Clean, smart, warm, excellent location for walks etc, supermarkets 10-15 minutes drive away. No problems having a dog with us. Hard wood floors not carpet. Very peaceful when we stayed (winter).

Ridgeway is one of seventeen holiday cottages at Town Farm, on the edge of the Chilterns. We are a working arable farm, with some sheep over the surrounding hills, we are lucky to have views over to Ivinghoe Beacon on one side, and Aylesbury Vale on the other. All the cottages each have their own unique charm, and we also run a campsite during the summer months. The `Pick Your Own` opens in June and guests can take a picnic and stock up on fruit and vegetables - this is a five minute drive away. It is only a ten minute drive to Tring Railway Station, shops and facilities, or a ten minute walk to Ivinghoe village, with pub, shop and tea room. London Euston is a 40 minute train ride from Tring Station. Ridgeway is a ground floor barn conversion with open plan living area, two bedrooms, a wet room and a patio area. The front door opens on to the living area with kitchen and sitting areas. The kitchen is fully equipped with cooker, microwave, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, washing machine and kitchen table with four chairs. The sitting area has two double sofas and an armchair, a flat screen TV and a DVD player. The property has two bedrooms, one with a queen size bed, and one with twin beds. The wet room has a shower and a heated towel rail. Parking for two cars is available at the front of the property. Up to two pets are welcome in the property, please let us know on booking. Wi-fi is included in the rental. The property has access to a tennis court available to hire, games room and a children`s play area on the farm. The property benefits from heating by electric radiators, please note that rental includes £20 per week, towards electricity. Any extra is charged as used. This allows us to be able to remain environmentally green as possible.

  • The cottage was roomy with surprisingly large bedrooms. Angie allowed for an early checkin for our convenience. We were delighted she had decorated the cottage for Xmas and left us gifts of shortbread and a bowl of fruit. As a chef, I am fussy about kitchens and utensils. I was quite content. We were so comfortable that my daughter didn't want to leave.

Electricity cards are available to purchase if more electricity is required. Heating by electric radiators. There is a fishing lake on site, and arrangements can be made to use this. there is also a Watermill on site, Ford End Watermill. This little mill, recorded in 1616 but certainly very much older, was in use until 1963. Restored by volunteers, and now maintained and run by Ford End Watermill Society, it is the only remaining working watermill in Buckinghamshire with original machinery. It retains all the atmosphere of a small farm mill of the late 1800`s. An unusual feature is the sheepwash in the tailrace below the mill. Washing made the fleece easier to shear and increased its value. Stoneground wholemeal flour is on sale during milling demonstrations.

A large, comfortable room in a modern barn conversion right on the Chiltern Way and just down the road from Wendover Woods. Perfect for walkers and cyclists, equally suitable for commuters into Aylesbury (20 minutes) or Hemel Hempstead (30 minutes). We are happy for you to share our home as much or as little as you wish. Help yourself to tea, coffee and DIY breakfast of home made bread and marmalade. The shared guest bathroom and toilet are downstairs. There is free, off road parking.
We have only just moved in but have previously been hosting on our farm for nearly 4 years, so are experienced hosts and love Airbnb-ing! We'll do our best to help you make the best of your stay while we discover the delights of this beautiful part of the country too. We have three cats, who love laps to sit on. You are welcome to sit with us of an evening (there are still a few boxes around!), share our kitchen space and enjoy the acre of garden we have here. Watch this space for the development of our vegetable garden and wildflower meadows. There will be homemade bread and marmalade for breakfast, and, when the chickens arrive, we should be able to provide eggs too.
The barn sits in an acre of land, back off the road. It's very quiet apart from the calling of Red Kites, which are plentiful in this area. We are surrounded by fields and woodland. Chesham in just 15 minutes drive down the hill and Aylesbury 20 minutes up the hill. Both have a good variety of shops, banks and eateries. We'll add more as we learn more!
  • Superhosts worthy of their title! Lorraine and Mark took on a very last minute reservation from me and I was able to arrive in an hour. They were friendly, generous and hospitable, good to have a chat with there’s no obligation to chat if you’d rather be alone. I felt absolutely safe staying at their place. Room was large and bed comfortable. Their grandkids were around when I stayed and we had fun playing together. Bonus: They have 3 cats, but they keep out of the way most of the time.

  • It was a very peaceful place to stay. Beautiful cats. Very homely. They were very accommodating and let us use the kitchen. Were open to us just going to eat in our rooms and also sit with them to eat. It was great sitting down and eating with them and talking and have all round good chat!

    Marco2019-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect stopover in a beautiful location. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.

  • Great spot and great hospitality. Late check in and early check out all without a problem.

  • Very nice and quiet place and very nice people

    Lakshmi2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful location. Lovely hosts. The bathroom is only for use by guests ( max 2) so I had sole use for most of my stay. Lorraine has a “great wheel” spinning wheel so if you love spinning, weaving, knitting you will have lots to share with Lorraine.

  • Very clean. Good big matrac. Good heating.

    Dudas2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa was very helpful with local knowledge even about simple things like cheaper taxis and the best trains to get, I had a great stay there. Had a slight plumbing issue and Lisa was onto it straight away and had the problem fixed immediately. Thank you for a great stay

    Geraldine2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • A wonderful place. Host communication was excellent and Lisa was very accommodating with a change in our arrival time. Off road parking in a very peaceful location. The place was beautifully clean, warm and had everything we needed plus much more. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Lisa's place to others.

Nice studio apartment with all you need. Plenty of privacy and private entrance, only 15 minutes walk to Chesham Underground Station. TV with Netflix, Superfast Wifi, En Suite, Double Bed, Kitchen, Microwave, Stove, Parking.
Close to underground station, shops and public transportation.
  • Libor's airbnb is a great place to stay for a night or two. Super easy to find, in a good location, easy to park and has everything you need. Netflix on the tv was a welcomed addition. Would definitely stay there again!

    Emily2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing:)

    Luke2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • This is a cheerful little space which we found perfect for our 2-night stay. A refreshing uphill walk from Chesham town centre in a very quiet residential area. Easy to find as long as you use the address and instructions given by Libor (the coordinates generated by Airbnb will take you up the wrong road).

    Maisie2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic studio with everything you need. Sparkling clean and well organised. Great contact from host

Nice and cosy room, overlooking an open spaced feild. Located in a quiet area within walking distance to shops and Hemel Hempsted station.
The guest can use the dining room kitchen and utility room.
Our home is a semi detached and have neighbours on one side. It’s a very quite location. Over home overlooks a huge open space field right opposite the front of the house.
  • Always a pleasure to stay. Great space and always made to feel very welcome

Quiet, friendly, busy household. Take-away and Co-op within walking distance. Short walk to Tring centre through a park. (Non-smokers only please).
The room is on the ground floor with bathroom opposite. Unfortunately, there are difficult steps both into the property and into the room so it is unsuitable for anyone disabled and depending on a wheelchair to get them around. Everything is contained on the ground floor though and ideal for someone wanting to come and go at odd hours.
Close to shops, buses to Luton airport. The train station is about a mile from the house, you could walk but we wouldn’t recommend it at night, it’s not well lit.
  • I have stayed in a few places in the course of my work, but this family just stands out. They are nice, friendly and always willing to assist their host. Thanks to both of you. 👍🏾

    Godson2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • I've stayed at Robyne's place several times now - would definitely recommend it as a place to stay in Tring.

    Josef2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Really pleased with my stay here. Robyne and Duncan are lovely hosts - happy to chat when you're feeling sociable, but there's also plenty of privacy when you need it. The room is very comfortable and you have your own bathroom too. Highly recommended and very good value for money!

    Josef2019-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • Robyne was lovely from the get go, and so helpful. The room was really comfy and clean, can’t fault it.I was attending a wedding in Tring so location was perfect!Would definitely recommend!

  • Always an absolute pleasure to stay at Robyne's. Really friendly hosts, great space and spotless with thoughtful touches.

    Ian2019-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • As usual, always an absolute pleasure to stay here. Very comfortable and spotlessly clean.

    Ian2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed a 2nd time - again enjoyed my stay and was made to feel very welcome

    David2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Robyne's is an ideal set up for working professionals with easy access to the bedroom, bathroom/shower facilities and kitchen immediately from the front door. This makes coming and going straight forward. The place itself was very clean and well presented. The hosts are welcoming and interesting to chat to. They even provided a lift to the train station upon departure which was very kind of them. It is also a BARGAIN in terms of the price. I would highly recommend Robyne's to anyone needing a nice, welcoming and clean place to stay in Tring.

The area has lovely neighbours, and it is very quiet here, day and night. You are assured to get a comfortable night's sleep and there is virtually no road noise.

The Oat House has two bedrooms, a galley kitchen which is fully equipped with cooker, fridge, freezer, microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer. The separate dining room has a dining table which comfortably seats four. The lounge area has two large sofas, a dvd player, a televison with Freeview. The bedrooms are upstairs, the master bedroom has a king size bed which can unzip into two twin beds, and a wardrobe. The second bedroom also has twin beds. The family bathroom has a bath with hand shower over. Ample parking is available for tenants use. £20 worth of electricity is included in the rental for this property.
  • We stayed near Ivinghoe to spend Christmas with family that lives nearby. This was great value for money. 5-stars.
