  • Nice house, nice view

    昱成2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful place we stumbled upon with this house. The view was absolutely breathtaking! The advertising pics do not so the actual view any justice. The house itself is brand new and provides a huge taste of solitude due to its semi-remote location, far from the beaten path of Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. The house is wonderfully decorated. The kitchen is stocked pretty well for making meals. My wife and I stayed for 2 nights and we understandably wished we could have stayed longer. We will absolutely stay here again, without a doubt.

    Mike2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • This place was perfect! The views are gorgeous! The house was so cute and had everything we needed. We will be back for sure!

If you have any hesitation at booking this place, DON’T!

Our 3200 square foot log home is nestled in the Appalachian Mountains overlooking a meandering creek, lush green pasture, and hardwood forest. The three bedrooms and bath in the loft are available to a single, couple, or a family. We have many requests from people with ATVs. Unfortunately, we have limited parking and can not accommodate trailers.
Though my wife and I will be available, guests will have all the privacy they would like. There are three bedrooms in the loft, with a full bath which serves the three rooms. The great room provides a comfortable place for individuals or the entire family to enjoy a movie or a cozy chat.
Our neighbors are lovely people and will most likely be around. We ask that you respect their privacy and stay within the boundaries of the Ambleside cabin.
  • Our large group felt welcome and there was plenty of space for everyone

    Daniel2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Another lovely stay at Ambleside! This time I particularly enjoyed watching the fog and mist and even a little snow up on the mountain. Loved experiencing the outdoors through the beautiful windows while I stayed cozy and dry inside. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back!

  • This house and setting were beautiful! If you are looking for a place that is quiet and peaceful , then this is exactly what you are looking for! Stephen was very nice and helpful with some questions we had and he really wanted to make sure we were happy and comfortable. My husband and I travel this area at least once a year and we WILL be back!

    Tina2019-12-14T00:00:00Z
  • This beautiful and comfortable home was perfect for our group. Our group consisted of two families (2 adults and 2 kids in each). The set-up of the house allowed one family to sleep upstairs and the other to sleep in the lower level with room to spare. The main floor's large and open living spaces meant everyone could spend time together. The grounds are just as beautiful as the home. There are a trails to explore, a creek, lots of space for kids to run and play. Also, the hosts Stephen and Claudia were so nice and accommodating. We are looking forward to our next stay. Now, to figure out when we can get away...

    Jessica2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Stephen and Claudia are wonderful hosts who go above and beyond to assist you and make sure you are comfortable. The location is away from everything and very peaceful.

    Joy2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a gem! Super clean, super affordable, a great home that is fully stocked with all that you need. The cabin is in a nice secluded area and the perfect place to relax and unwind. We traveled with 12 people total, including 6 kids age 5 and under, and it worked out great. The cabin has a lot of toys and books for the kids, and our kids loved them. They also loved playing with the dogs that roam the lot, hiking on the trail, and exploring the creek. Also, Steve and Claudia's hospitality was fantastic. They are very communicative, helpful, and attentive to their guest's needs. Their home is and the surrounding area is beautiful. If you are looking for a low key place to relax and unwind, I would highly recommend Ambleside!

    Luke2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Everything about our experience here was just amazing. We loved the property so much. Huge space for six women. We had tons of space. Kitchen had everything to cook meals for the weekend. We will be back !

    Michelle2019-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • This was one of the most beautiful homes my group and I have ever stayed in. The house itself was beautiful as well as the property it sits on. At dusk we saw hundreds of fireflies in the field behind the home all the way up the mountain that the back porch sits at the foot of. It was like nothing any of us had seen before. This is the perfect home to get away and have some peace and quiet in beautiful Appalachia. It's a tasteful space that could comfortably host my party of 6 easily. Truly stunning. Thanks Stephen!

This is an excellent family atmosphere. A pool , basketball court, and marina are available to all guests. Live music Friday and Saturday in season and karaoke on Thursdays. Off season is quiet, Fall and Spring are excellent for hiking the Cumberland Trials. Ranger Station is nearby.
  • This was by far my favorite Airbnb host experience. Linda and Richard exceeded expectations in all manners. Clear instructions and ease/flexibility of check in. Clean, stylish and cozy place. I would most definitely stay here again.

  • Amazing place to enjoy any short or long vacation time. Very hospitable and amazingly neat and organized. Highly recommend!!!

  • Best Airbnb EVER! Richard and Linda were the most amazing host. They give the meaning to hospitable. The place was beautiful and comfortable. The extra amenities was unexpected and greatly appreciated. Everyone in my group has told every back home how wonderful our stay was. My child asked if we could move there. Enjoy the peaceful country neighborhood with dark skies, and summertime fireflies. The cabin is on the second floor of a detached building on our property. With one complete bedroom, fully kitted kitchen, full bath, and even a loft, this space has a lot of room to spread out. Relax after a day of exploring on the huge covered back deck. Big South Fork Nat'l Park is 10 minutes away! The conveniences of Oneida are 2 miles away. Knoxville is 1 hr. Local craft beer and lots of adventure await!
The space is a completely private and detached area, but on shared property. You have a dedicated, covered parking space. There is a complete flight of stairs to climb. Brand new LUCID brand mattresses. The entire space was renovated June 2019 with new flooring in the bathroom, new appliances, new furniture, and all new kitchenware!
The neighborhood is quaint and very quiet. South Fork Tack shop is walking distance and offers cold beer, tack, hiking supplies, and much more. Oneida (Wal Mart, restaurants, gas, etc) is about 2 miles away.
  • Can’t say enough about Big South Fork or the cabin. Awesome place!!! Scott and Kristin are wonderful people and wonderful hosts with an absolutely beautiful guesthouse cabin!! With so much to do in the area they live in, we were hardly at the cabin during our weekend stay, but the cabin is a great place to just hangout and relax. It’s spacious and they have it spotless clean! Bed’s great. Showers great. We didn’t watch TV but they have it set up that if you want to, you can watch anything. The cabin is full of really cool decor and touches that make it comfortable, and even has a porch to relax on if you’re there with the time! As I said before, we weren’t there much because the area they’re in has so much to do. If you love hiking the outdoors and admiring Earth’s natural beauty, Big South Fork is for you. If you really want to explore all there is in BSF, a weekend is not long enough, haha. We went to the O&W Railroad bridge, Twin Arches (gotta do the Twin Arches Loop!), and Yahoo Falls/Arch. We also went to Lillypad Hopyard Brewery which is THE coolest brewery you’ll ever go to. These were all suggestions from Scott and Kristin, and they were amazing! RaeZack’s is a great place to eat, and Lillypad (which is in Lancing, TN) also has “The Sauced Frog” that has GREAT BBQ! But as they have in their house manual, Oneida doesn’t have a ton of food options, so if you’re there for more than a few days, I’d recommend bringing some groceries because there is a kitchen, we just weren’t there long enough to use it. Scott and Kristin are both so friendly and accommodating. They were unbelievably kind for the short time I saw them upon arrival, and always responded quickly before and during our stay! Scott initially offered for us to hangout by the fire pit that’s in between their home and the cabin on our second night there, but my girlfriend and I didn’t make it back until around 11 PM. I genuinely hope I make it back there some day to continue exploring all there is (and to hangout with Scott and Kristin). I would 12/10 recommend staying here if you’re wanting to stay at a really cool place and wanting to check out BSF or anywhere around the TN/KY line!!

    Graham2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome host! Great value and spotless!!! Any hikers visiting be sure and hit Slave falls and if you go to Rugby check out the Gentlemans swimming loop trail. All are in the Big South Fork. Scott's place is the perfect hub for outdoor adventure in the area.

    John2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay, area was beautiful. Great hiking nearby and close to Big South Fork. Oneida had much more to offer than expected. Cabin is very clean and hosts were very friendly & courteous :)

  • We visited in late January for a mountain biking getaway. Two of us, and we found this to be spacious. Many nice amenities: comfortable bed and comfortable pillows; appreciated the shampoo, conditioner, and bodywash in dispensers in the shower; plenty of bowls, plates, pots and pans, and cooking utensils; TV set up for Roku for streaming using our own accounts with auto logout at the end of our stay; books available and local printed guides. Very conveniently located by the Bandy Creek trailhead for accessing the mountain bike IMBA Epic route. Not expected, not after a long day on the trails on Saturday, they invited us to join them for a bonfire. Scott and Kristin really are lovely hosts and it was a pleasure to meet them and stay here for our trip.

    Geralyn2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay! Weather wasn’t great so having a cozy spot to warm up and enjoy was very nice. Scott made great suggestions to help accommodate the weather and make the best of it! Highly recommend for a weekend getaway.

The lake home was built in the early 1930's to house the engineers constructing the entire TVA (Tennessee Valley Authority) system that created dams and hydro-electric power throughout the region. It also provided jobs that helped with employment during the Great Depression, and today the lake systems provide for many different forms of recreation.
The lake home itself remains mainly as it was back then, complete with wormy-chestnut walls and ceilings. But now there are beds for FIVE people, not the 12 engineers that lived here back then - ha ha! One thing that has just been upgraded is the water. Until recently we were on (very good) well water, but now we've hooked onto the County water system - which is of excellent quality. However, we continue to operate on a septic field, so we ask all our guests to be especially gentle with the plumbing - and not put anything down the drains that doesn't belong. And we've also just added a few new amenities: a propane-gas grill on the front porch, a dog enclosure in the front yard (so we're happy to say that we're now welcoming dogs to our property!) and a dock in the shared area across from our sister property.
This area used to be mainly summer cottages, but over the past few decades has become much more year-round homes. But the peaceful and bucolic nature of the area hasn't changed much, and everyone really enjoys how peaceful and quiet it remains. And we would ask that all our guests respect that.
  • Expect a quiet no frills cabin with a great view of the lake and close proximity to hiking and fishing. Restaurants were only a short drive away as was shopping. We had a great relaxing weekend stay. Definitely would do it again.

  • This was the perfect antidote to an urban stay in Chattanooga.

    Joni2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed the lake and Mountain View so much!!! It was lovely, quiet, relaxing, peaceful and our kids enjoyed exploring. So nice to have all the conveniences of home including a fenced area for our Boston terrier to play. Will come back again!! Thank you!

    Tiffany2019-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • Definitely a great place to stay year round clean comfortable and safe place for the whole family. The neighbors are so nice and welcoming and views are wonderful

    William2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic place to stay! This cabin is lake front, has awesome views from the back porch (I wish it'd been just a tad warmer so I could have enjoyed that more!), and is convenient to pretty much any trail in Norris Dam State Park (especially the 'watershed' side). The cabin is as described - beds are comfortable, wifi is good, plenty of space in the living/kitchen areas - exactly what you'd need for a getaway. I also thought the amenities provided for canine guests were especially thoughtful - I don't think I've rented other airbnb's that provided an outdoor area, a dog bed, clean-up items, dog towels, etc. I had a great stay and would definitely book here again!

    Stacey2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • It's our second stay at this place and still great as ever. I've mostly communicated with Haleigh and she is a wonderful host. We have everything we need for a relaxing weekend.

  • The place was great, stylish and very clean inside! The dogs enjoyed having a little space to run around in and there's lots of nice roads to walk along and enjoy nature & the lake views.

Plenty of trails on the property for some good low key hiking and exploring. We're definitely coming back.

  • We had a great time at the cabin! The space itself was comfy and homey; perfect for reading by the fire while it lightly snowed outside. We attempted fishing in the pond and got a few nibbles before heading in out of the cold to enjoy some hot coco by the fire. A much needed relaxing weekend. Thank you!

  • Nice place to stay! We’ve stayed there several times already and enjoy the home. We ride ATVs and love that it is close enough to the trails. Debra is super to deal with.

    Rachel2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Debra offers a sweet small home for travelers to be comfortable in while on their vacation adventures.

    Scott2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • We came from Florida to ride at Ride Royal Blue and the usual airbnb we normally rent was booked. So we found Debra's place and lucked out! Her place had everything we needed and more. I was very skeptical at first because I googled the address and the house that it showed was not the one in the pictures. But then I realized that it had been updated big time! I was relieved once we arrived. Her home was pretty darn close to where we rode, which was very convenient! I would recommend her place for sure! I am sure we will be back!!!!

  • A cozy home with lots of personal touches. We had 4 adults and a toddler in our group and it was the perfect size for us.

  • It was an awesome stay, I would stay there again!

    Dylan2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place. Away from town a mile or so, really quite and beautiful. Debra was wonderful, to have such a place for others to enjoy. The house was very clean and relaxing. Found myself on the sectional relaxing in the evening and coffee on the front porch in the morning watching sun come up to light the mountains up. For our group it was perfect. Ride atvs at ride royal blue to come back to a tucked away gem. We road to the atv park from the house, made it even better. On arrival into Lafollette we stopped at gas station to top off wherlers a gentleman approached us welcoming us to town. Do the people were great. Will definitely be back.

Ride the road from H house then You ride a gravel road for about 10 minutes to the trailhead once you leave the pavement. (See picture) ALL ATV trailers need be to be parked in the backyard. A double gate is located to the right of the house. Max of three trailers due to space. (Depending on size) House is located in an established neighborhood so keeping the road open and Accessible is extremely important. (shoot me a message and we can figure out logistics) Windrock park is another option for a great ATV trail from my house. INSIDE THE HOUSE : This house is complete with four bedrooms two and a half baths. One king , two queen beds, one set of bunk beds is located upstairs and a day bed in the game room which is on the main level. THE OUTSIDE : I have an above ground pool that you may use during your stay with towels and pool floats. A southern house wouldn't be complete without a fire pit with four Adirondack chairs to make creamy s'mores every night after the winter sun falls. (You are responsible for making your own fire) A playset with three swings located next to the fire pit is perfect for the kids. I have a new charcoal grill located on back patio for those juicy burgers and hotdogs. The backyard is fenced in and I do allow outside dogs! • Great place to stay and Sarah is a wonderful host!

    Rachel2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah’s home was beautiful, perfectly located close to the highway and with lots of space. It was refreshing traveling with a 15 month old to have a kid friendly space to stay.

    Nicole2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah is such a delightful host! We stayed over the Christmas holiday and the house was completely decorated with trees, lights and decor throughout! We definitely felt at home! Thanks for a great stay, Sarah!

    Jennifer2019-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah's place was just what we needed after a long few hours on the road with four restless children. The game room offered the kids a chance to burn some energy, and the s'mores were a nice treat at the end of the day. The house was mostly clean and comfortable, and it was beautifully decorated for the holidays (although we eventually got tired of chasing our 18 month old twins around to keep them from breaking anything and put them in their pack and plays toward the end of the evening). The enclosed porch on the back of the house looks lovely, although it was too late and cold for us to get to enjoy it. If you stay at Sarah's house, you will probably want to check it out!

    Charlotte2019-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • You're place is absolutely stunning! Thank you for sharing your house with us!

    Mindy2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah was very quick with any questions or concerns we had! The house was spacious and nice. Loved the open, large, kitchen, dining table and living room! Kids loved the air hockey table!

    Mindy2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • My family enjoyed staying at Sarah's house. It had everything we needed and then some. Sarah was quick to respond to any questions I had. She is a good hostess. My family would stay here again.

This is a well appointed delightful, completely and comfortably furnished 2 bedroom, one bath apt located on the ground floor of our house. The surroundings include over an acre of thickly wooded area with ample parking (one indoor) for both cars and boats. About one half mile down the road is the very progressive Twin Cove marina (one of the nicest on Norris Lake) which includes a boat launching ramp and a huge floating restaurant and bar. Knoxville is about 40 miles away. Dollywood 1 hr drive.
This is a fully wooded rustic and secluded environment on the outside but yet very clean and attractive inside. Number one amenity is perhaps its close proximity to the Twin Cove Marina (one half mile).
This is in a nice subdivision, but our place is secluded since we have chosen to leave the surroundings as close to nature as possible. While our house and the apartment are upscale, inside and out, all outdoors area including the driveway have been left rustic. WE OFFER THIS PLACE FOR THE FULL MONTHS OF NOVEMBER, DECEMBER, JANUARY, AND FEBRUARY FOR A TOTAL OF $4,OOO, TO INCLUDE ALL UTILITIES EXCEPT CABLE TV. HOWEVER THERE ARE ABOUT 18 CHANELS THAT COME IN CRISTAL CLEAR OVER AN ANTENA
  • Your own apartment space in the lovely woods of East Tennessee with quick access to Norris Lake. The hosts are so attentive and yet respectful of your space. These hosts truly care about providing a comfortable and clean place for families to share their time.

    Sandra2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • This getaway is all as described. No surprises. Incredibly clean, cozy, quiet in the woods. Close to lake and nice twin cove marina. Private entrance is nice with attached carport. Would go back again in a heartbeat. Have to check out the very casual restaurant at the local state park. Live music and good food.

  • Great place to stay

    Luis2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Gerald & Wilma were very hospitable. Living space was very comfortable & spacious. Bedrooms were spacious as well & beds, oh so comfortable! The bathroom is somewhat small. We thoughly enjoyed our stay.

    Becky2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • By far the best AirBnb I’ve stayed at. The place was welcoming and cozy and very clean! We got the chance to speak with Gerald and Wilma and they were extremely nice and welcoming. I usually feel a little iffy and uncomfortable when I use Airbnb because the hosts or place gives an uncomfortable vibe but I didn’t feel that at all this time. Gerald was even gracious enough to come meet us couple miles from their place since it is a little difficult to find the house. They’re very fast at getting back to you if you have any questions which I really appreciate! The Airbnb by far exceeded my expectations. It also the best bang for my buck This trip!

    Anish2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • We needed a location with two bedrooms and that is what we got. It is a ground floor with no steps into the apartment. Lovely living room and kitchen with lots of windows. Gerald and Wilma were very hospitable and we enjoyed speaking with them about their travels. The kitchen was well stocked, had a big refrigerator, a blender, plates, silverware, serving bowls, toaster, right down to the rice cooker. Queen beds in both bedrooms were comfortable. It is one step up into each bedroom and the shower. A stylish space with a lovely patio to eat breakfast on. One space in the garage if desired. We had two cars and they both fit fine in the driveway. Only a half mile from the Cove Lake Marina and restaurant. Only one exit away from the Royal Blue trail for off roaders and close to the state park. Only 3 miles from I 75.

  • Such a great host, helpful in every way , the trees and quiet setting was awesome !!! If your looking for a quite peaceful place to relax this is it !! Dog-friendly home built in 2010 on a peaceful and remote location that overlooks Norris Lake (just 35 minutes north of Knoxville), with a view to the Cumberland Mountains. Sleeps 5 who are seeking peace, quiet, and tranquility. We just added a dock for guest use and it a shared area with our sister property.
The home was designed to be low maintenance, so it has Trex decking on the outside and colored concrete floors on the inside (making it very easy to sweep and clean). There is full heat-and-air, but there are also powerful ceiling fans in every room - minimizing the need for either. Two bedrooms (with queen beds); two bathrooms (with 42" showers); full kitchen with all necessary cooking accessories; screened-in-porch; long deck; attached dog-run with door pass-throughs (sorry, no cats permitted); WiFi; 43" flat-screen TV with Netflix installed, and a DVD player with discs.
Sequoyah Marina (.net) is less than a mile away, offering boat and jet-ski rentals from Memorial Day to Labor Day, docking slips, and a full restaurant. Anderson County Park (.com) is a couple miles in one direction, with the historic town of Norris (as well as the wonderful Museum of Appalachia) just a couple miles the other way. The street itself has minimal traffic, is very quiet and peaceful, and encompasses a "loop road" along the water that is perfect for walking or jogging (it is 300' short of a mile in circumference). The loudest thing you'll likely hear (other than the occasional sound of jet-skis during the height of the season) will be the sound of cicadas at night.
  • Wow! This place is incredible. The view at sunset set was gorgeous. We were able to watch right from the house as the sun set across the lake. We traveled from WI with our dog and would definitely return. The doggie doors, screened in porch, and dog run made this perfect for our Border Collie who needed to release some energy after a long car ride. The house was beautiful as well. We loved all of the windows, we were able to see so much wildlife from every room. So many deer and birds. We had everything we needed for cooking dinner. This place was so quiet and peaceful, our only regret was not staying a few more days.

    Nicole2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, convenient, and relaxing. We will do our best to book it again. Great views. Peaceful and quiet. 5 out of 5

    Zach2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying here for the functionality of the space and the beautiful location! Tom and Haleigh were so thoughtful in the details of the amenities. We had no problems finding the house or checking in.

    Abi2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • This place is in a wonderful location with lake access, just go a short walk to the shared dock. Check in and out was super easy. Haleigh communicated steps in easy fashion. Very spacious home with killer view. Large deck on the back of the house has plenty of lounge chairs and rockers and faces the lake. We brought our dog and can confirm how wonderfully dog friendly this home was!! Perfect dog friendly home. Dog doors, fenced in dog run area, toys and more! The amenities can't be beat either. You are a bit away from stores and we brought our supplies in. There were plenty of dishes, pots and pans, and spices for if you forget anything. Welcome book has all the info you need for places nearby, vet care, technology how tos. Lights and fans have labeled switches and are easy to navigate. Beds are comfortable. Washer and dryer available in the master bath.

    Juliette2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to stay with a great view. My little dog loved the dog run with the ramp to the porch.

    Donny2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • If you are a dog owner I couldn't imagine finding a better place to stay in the Knoxville area. Fenced in dog run with ramp from deck is completely secure even for small dogs. House is a perfect set up with easy to clean floors and nothing really on the ground where you have to worry about your dog getting a hold of something they shouldn't. View is amazing, and the neighborhood is perfect for walks! Had a wonderful time!

    Chris2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • This space is MUCH bigger than I anticipated. If you are familiar with the area, Norris lake is within walking distance and so is the beach. Dog friendly is an understatement. There are toys, multiple doggie doors, and a fenced in area for pups. The Netflix and internet was a huge plus for the cabin, as cell service is limited but not unavailable. My only recommendation to future tenants is bring extra pillows and blankets. The master bedroom’s bed is very stiff, and those of you who like softer mattresses may prefer having some extra cushion.

    Adam2020-01-26T00:00:00Z

Beautiful cabin on 6 plus acres gated community private entrance. Just minutes from several trails heads (no trailing needed) that give you access over 900 miles of trails!
  • We had a group of five and we spent four nights at the cabin on our off road riding trip. The cabin accommodations more than met our expectations. Great place and Carl is a great host! How nice is the place? He's lucky that he didn't have me stay as a squatter! Close enough to the riding trails where you don't have to trailer your machines everyday. We will be back!

    Bama2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great stay at Carl’s place! Appreciated all the amenities and his beautiful property. Fun times riding the trails once we became familiar with the area. Carl was very attentive to answering our questions and giving us pointers. Hope to stay again next year!

Wonderful lake adjacent house. Less than one mile from Mountain Lake Marina located on Norris Lake. If the lake isn't your thing it's a couple of miles ATV ride to the trailhead of Windrock. It's also conviently located within a short drive to Knoxville, Big Ridge State Park, Pigeon Forge, and Gatlinburg. The house is located in a cul-de-sac with only two neighbors so perfect for a quiet getaway. With three bedrooms, two baths and a pullout couch, it comfortably sleeps 8 adults.
The inside of the home has just been completely repainted to give it a fresh new look. We are just outside of Mountain Lake Marina and a few miles from a public access boat launch making access to the lake exceptionally easy. We are also conveniently located approximately 30 minutes from downtown Knoxville and an hour from all the attractions in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. Pets are part of the family and welcome, we just request that you clean up after them. There is a fence outside, however it is not pet proof. Owners are ultimately responsible for safety and security of their pets while staying on property. Pet friendly in this sense simply means that we welcome them to come along and enjoy your vacation. We make no proclamations that we will provide a pet specific environment. We also allow smoking outside of the home but again request that you utilize the containers that have been provided for your convenience and refrain from disposing of them in the yard.
The house is located in a rural setting. After exiting the interstate you can expect to drive through neighborhoods of diverse living situations. My neighborhood is safe and I have never had any issues there. There are only three houses, including this one, in the cul-de-sac. The seclusion may entice you to be rambunctious, so we do ask that you still be courteous of our neighbors. When you are in the country, sound travels and often echoes making things louder than what they really are.
  • The house was nice for the area. It was close to the Norris Dam. The communication was great.

    Melissa2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great place for a weekend getaway, great for groups!

    Daniel2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I enjoyed our stay for a few days. The house was clean and comfortable. We took our dog with us and he was able to run around the fenced area without any issues. The area of Rocky Top wasn’t my favorite TN city but it was located close enough to the places I wanted to visit while in town and was priced very reasonable. We didn’t have any issues and would be willing to stay here again if needed.

    Crystal2019-12-24T00:00:00Z
  • A very clean and thoughtful space. Our 1 year old was not able to access many things to get in to, thank goodness. That bed in the master bedroom made me want to get a new mattress, so comfy!!! Close enough to Knoxville but out of the hustle and bustle of the city. Loved it!

    Amanda2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • This stay was better than I could have hoped for, beautiful mountain views, welcoming rustic feel. The only thing negative about this weekend is i had to check out and say goodbye to such a wonderful home away from home.

    Scott2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great location: 10- ish minutes to Norris, 30 minutes in to Knoxville. Very peaceful setting. Great stay!!

    Kristen2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • We loved sitting out on the shaded deck in the evenings. It was so quite and on clear nights the stars were amazing. We would not hesitate to stay here again when we are in town. Julie always responded quickly and check in and out were a breeze.

    Dawn2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • We spent a few days here and had a wonderful time. The location is in such a quiet place, and my kiddos had a great time playing outside. The home is definitely child and pet friendly. It's a cute home with nice touches, but not too fancy where you're going to worry about your littles breaking something. It was a great deal for a nice, comfortable place!

It’s been “A Hard Days Night”.... This quaint lake front ‘Beatles’ inspired, BOHO styled, private vacation cottage is located in a quiet cove with a private boat dock on Norris Lake in a small town in East TN called LaFollette, about 30 miles north of Knoxville, TN. This unique cottage is within eyesight of Sugar Hollow Marina and just around the bend from Shanghai Resort! We are also located within about 15 minutes by car or boat from Deerfield Resort.
This 800sq ft cottage is a RUSTIC cabin in the woods on a lake. This is not a 5 star hotel, it is rather a 2nd home that we have worked hard on and completed tons of new updates for others to enjoy. As of February 2020 we have brand new white siding with all new windows and an added window downstairs for more lake view and new outdoor lights to give a new modern farmhouse feel. We also have new wooden stairs down to lake for easier access. It is approximately 50 ft of stairway from lakehouse to lake. We are ready for the new season! Our home away from home consists of 1 large loft bedroom upstairs with 2 new memory foam queen beds. The cottage has 2 full baths. It consists of an open floor plan with a fully stocked kitchen and living area. The bedroom has a walk out balcony upstairs overlooking the water in addition to the large deck downstairs with table and chairs, also a grill. Don’t miss out on the hammock below the deck in the shade overlooking the water or build a fire down by the lake. Get your tan on or go fishing on our private dock. Bring your boat and tie it to our dock or rent one from close by. Are you a golfer? Bring your golf clubs and head over to Deerfield Resort and play a round of golf over looking the water. Deerfield is about a 15 minute drive by car or boat. This peaceful cottage is perfect for couples, honeymooners, romantic get away, a girls getaway, a family of 4, boaters, fishermen, a mom retreat, and of course all Beatles fans! This cottage means everything to us. It is in memory of my dad who passed away from cancer suddenly. Our goal is to raise money for the Cancer Research Institute and by you staying with us we are able to contribute to this great charity. A percentage of your stay is donated. We want you to make memories and enjoy this special place and trust that you treat it as if it’s your own. We strive for a 5 star experience. If for any reason during your stay you feel that you could not give 5 stars please let us know and we would be happy to make your stay more enjoyable! Lake season is Memorial Day through Labor Day.. water levels start to go down after Labor Day so water levels may be low come October and our lake house may or may not have water in front of it by October... enjoy the fall weather & the color changes of the trees! Water levels start to rise back up in March - April. Instagram: @aharddaysnightairbnb
Within eye sight and about 0.1 mile by car and by water of Sugar Hollow Marina up in a cove that is a no wake zone. Very little boat traffic. Safe for swimming and calm for fishing. Located off a quiet country backroad. It has a small town rural feel. Quiet and peaceful! Enjoy this entire lake front cottage with direct access to the water and private dock.
  • We enjoyed the relative seclusion and peaceful area. I LOVED the dock/fire ring area. It rained while we were there so no waterside fire for us, but the firewood provided was a great touch. The whole place was super cozy. We will return in warm weather to utilize the lake.

  • Great place for us to spend our honeymoon. Very well kept, the house was so nice, and the host was great. She gave lots of tips for what to do and where to eat in the area.

  • Adorable, Clean, Stylish, Calming and Affordable. Loved the Beatles Theme and their story. Got used to the trek down to the lake, wasn't that steep/bad (Bring gym shoes). Would definitely recommend to family/friends and we plan on coming back!

  • Great place for a weekend getaway! It was cozy and the perfect amount of space for us and another couple. If you don’t mind sharing a bedroom, it was such a cozy cottage and the private dock made renting a boat and just relaxing in the lake so convenient! Thanks, Katie!!

    Chloe2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • The house is super charming, and it has everything you need! The lake is beautiful and peaceful. If you are looking for nature, water and the chance to relax, I would recommend this house.

    Natalie2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Three of my girlfriends and I had a blast on the lake at Katie’s place. The house had several nice touches that made it feel like home and Katie provided lots of information on the community that made us feel like locals! The private dock was very nice and had a ladder into the water that was a nice touch for swimming. I was a little worried about the walk to the water after reading a few reviews but it was not bad at all!! Overall the perfect spot for a weekend getaway with my girls!

  • Brian’s View lives up the name, and provides a beautiful view atop of the ridge. The house was very clean, and everything was provided. Bob and Pam greeted us as soon as we arrived, and gave us a history of his family and the property. Bob and Pam was very quick with responses to any questions, and were there if we needed anything. Our group was staying to ride the Ride Royal Blue and Tackett Creek off road trails, and the house is in the perfect location for these! The house has ample parking and was able to accommodate our 2 trucks with 24’ trailers. The perfect place for a beautiful views and riding great trails! Thanks Bob and Pam! We will 100% for sure be back!

  • We stayed in Brian's View and The Florence. The views are great from the back porch or the fire pit. The cabin was well stocked with towels, wash cloths and cooking utensils for us to use. We did meet Bob and Pam and they are great hosts and very enjoyable to talk with. The cabin was a short ride to the trail heads if you are riding UTV's and just a little farther to town. The Elk Viewing tower is about a 20 minute drive from the cabin and is well worth it, we saw 13 ELK and 6 Turkeys. You will want to go about a hour before sunset and be ready for a short hike. Overall we really enjoyed the cabin and its location. Anthony

  • The house was very clean and had everything we needed. William is a great host. He greeted us to make sure we made it fine and to help with parking our trailer. The house is real close to Windrock trails, we rode our side by sides in town to pick up our permits for Windrock Park. (Marathon with the Sonic attached) There was several ways to enter the trails from the house. The house was very nice to come back to after a long day of riding the trails. I would also recommend eating at Coal Creek Smokehouse the BBQ was excellent! I can't wait to plain our next trip!!

  • We enjoyed being right on the water. We would love to stay here again. For us it was perfect but I dont think an adult would want to sleep in the lower bedrooms. For our teenager it was great. Beds upstairs were comfy. Sitting on the top deck in the morning and evening was wonderful.

    Ashley2019-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful location on Lake Norris at the end of the dock. It was awesome to wake up on the water. The water is crystal clear. Boat was very clean and neat. It does rock from the wake of other boats during the day. At night it was fine. Beds were super comfortable. A little disappointed that the top canvas was ripped and didn’t provide much shade in the heat. The grill was in disrepair. We filled the propane bottle so we could cook out. Other than that it was great and would recommend.

  • Beautiful getaway! Walk down the dock to a great marina that has Poke bowls, shrimp, and all the usual stuff (burgers & fries) as well as growlers etc the place is clean, well maintained, and cute as a button! Tracy is available and responds quickly! I hope to stay there again!

  • Tracy's boathouse was awesome! All the comforts of your own home but on the water. This was our first time to Norris Lake and we really didn't know what to expect. It was the cleanest lake we have ever been to. We were very happy with everything about our stay! We will def be back. Thank you so much for opening up your house boat so that others can have the experience of living on the water.

Unique floating home! Always wanted to try tiny living? Dreamed about Sleepless in Seattle? Make all your dreams come true in this remodeled floating house on Norris Lake just outside of Knoxville! This home is literally IN the lake, you MUST have a boat to get to it! Close enough to kayak if you are comfortable bringing your necessities in a backpack, or rent a boat from the marina! Either way, you won't be disappointed. Relaxation is just a couple hundred yards from the marina!
The key to being comfortable in a tiny home is the layout and usability, and we've tried to think of it all while remodeling our vintage floating home on Norris Lake! You'll have all the comforts of home, even though you'll never use them because you'll be in your bathing suit sporting lake hair the entire time. Honestly, you'll never blow dry your hair, but the dryer is there anyway. The bedroom features bunk beds, and the sofa in the living room is a sleeper for an individual. This is a tiny home, so no king size bed here for lounging, you'll want to be up and out as soon as you wake anyway! We've made it as comfortable as possible for your rest though with high quality mattresses and linens on the beds, but let's face it, the couch is better for sitting than sleeping. The kitchen features a vintage metal sink cabinet and gas stove, and we've included a plugin induction cook top if gas scares you! An electric water kettle and french press will serve all your coffee and tea needs. And yes, there is even a milk frother, we're not neanderthals, but you will need to wash your own dishes by hand. Out on the deck you'll find an outdoor kitchen with sink and fridge as well! The bathroom features a stand alone shower and marine toilet, and if your partner is squeamish and doesn't like to share like mine, there is another outside access bathroom with a separate private marine toilet. At the lake, you are going to spend most of your time outside and on the water! So take advantage of the water views while you make breakfast in the vintage kitchen, then head out to the 800 sf of decking to watch the wildlife. Fish from your front porch, chill under the patio roof when the sun is hottest, grab a beer from the outdoor fridge while you grill your lunch at the outdoor kitchen, head down into the water with the swim ladder, and take a sunset kayak cruise. Two kayaks and some floats are available for use! All of your worries will melt away, even my husband agreed after just two days on the floating house. Really, it's a big deal, he never even wanted to own a boat and now this is his favorite place!
Powell Valley Marina is blessed to be the only marina with fantastic mountain views! Floating home owners are truly the nicest people on the planet, so you'll be making friends the minute you pull your boat up. Just minutes between two larger towns you can grab groceries, stock up your vacation bar, or grab a pizza. Need more nightlife or a better selection of restaurants? Knoxville is less than an hour away, with tons of must do's in between like Mt Cloud and Norris Dam.

The ponds are stocked with bluegill and small-mouth bass. You are welcome to fish at our ponds. However, we do ask that you release the fish that you catch as our fish population is still growing. The bottom pond is easily accessible by car. An ATV is necessary to reach the upper pond. The bottom pond also has several firepits. You are welcome to bring your own firewood for a small bonfire. However, we ask that you keep the fire in control and completely extinguish the fire when finished. Feedback We hope you enjoy your stay, and we would love to hear about your experience! If you reserved using AirBNB, be sure to leave feedback. If you are taking photos of your trip, we would love to see them! You can post them to our Facebook page or use the social media hashtag #waldenwoodstn Each cabin unit has a guest book. Please share a memory with future cabin guests! • The Florence is a single room under Brian's View. You have your own front porch with a wonderful view and are totally separated from the other units. We rented Brian's View as well and the couple that used The Florence was well pleased with the unit. The unit has a refrigerator, microwave and other necessities for a quick meal. The outside grill is also available too. They have a nice walk down to the unit and the porch is large and spacious. This is a great unit for couple or add on like we did with 10 of us. Anthony

Stay at Owl House on Norris Lake! We invite you to visit our charming lakeview cottage. Owl House is named for the barred owl that we have been amazed to see hunting in the yard. If you sit quietly on the screened porch at dusk, you’ll have a good chance of seeing the owl too! Lake access is available within a 5 minute walk (you can also drive). This is a great place to get away from it all and enjoy all that lake life has to offer. Fishing, boating, swimming, and more are at your doorstep.
Owl House was originally an Alphabet House built at Oak Ridge. We believe it moved to Persimmon Road in the 1950s and some modifications were made, including raising the ceilings and adding 2 porches and a deck. The house is small and cozy, but is well equipped to host up to 6 people. It's perfect for family get togethers, a guy's fishing trip, or even a ladies getaway!
Neighborhood is very quiet, family friendly, offers great walking/running routes along the lake. Nearby shopping in Norris or Clinton. Norris has a local grocer with great meat and beer selection, post office and little cafe next door. Clinton offers a 24/7 Walmart and other shopping centers.
  • Great place! Great location. Thanks for everything!!

  • This is a beautiful, private property with amazing lake and mountain views. If you own horses or dogs, this is a great place for you. We brought our dogs and they enjoyed playing in the lake and being able to run free on the property. There were also plenty of fenced-in spaces if you don't trust your pups not to run off. There were lots of trails to walk or drive if you have a 4x4 and decent tires. The living space was great and well designed to maximize space. The kitchen is a little small, and if you like to cook, I would recommend bringing a couple of iron skillets and using the provided charcoal grill as there is just a portable burner and toaster oven in the kitchen for cooking. There aren't many places to go out to eat, so you definitely want to bring your own food. The views are absolutely stunning, and the hospitality shown by the owner and grounds keeper was second to none. Every time I called or texted, the owner responded almost immediately. Overall, a great experience that we would definitely recommend.

  • Spent thanksgiving here with our 4 kids ages 7-16 and our dog. House was perfect for us. Location was everything we were looking for. Kim had hiking trail ideas and we had so much fun hiking in big south fork. Waterfalls, rocks to climb and all very close by. One rainy day was spent playing games and watching football. We cooked all our meals in the well stocked kitchen. It was just what we needed to get away.

  • Rustic, spacious, great firm beds ( in a good way), very easy to communicate and check in and out. Proximity to Blue Heron park was excellent (10 minutes!). So close and so beautiful! Lots of stars and the fire pit and wood was awesome.

  • This is a great place. Tucked away, private, clean, cute and cozy. Our family loved out time here. We spent a lot of time visiting parks that were very close and absolutely loved the ATV trails that were super close to the cabin. We liked rocking on the front porch and enjoyed rigorous walks around the cabin with all of the of hills on the pretty private loop the cabin was on. We definitely want to come back to the area and the cabin again. The hosts were very attentive and even brought an airpump when one of our 4-wheeler tires were low. Thanks again for a great week!

  • Clean, comfortable, and country. We really enjoyed this cabin. It is very clean and well designed with two bedrooms upstairs and one downstairs. It is located in a rural, but not isolated area and has very modern amenities with WiFi, etc. It was a great place to relax after a day of checking out some of the local sights, and its location worked well to access all the things we wanted to see such as Cumberland Falls, Blue Heron Mining Community, and several arches and overlooks. We would be happy to stay here again.

  • Wow! A beautiful and well-maintained cabin! The decor was modern, the beds were comfy, and the jacuzzi bathtub was that extra something we weren’t expecting. Definitely family friendly. Great communication with the host. Lots to do in the area! We will definitely be back.

    Sarah2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is very clean and well decorated! My mom and I stayed for a couple of days and we had a great time. There’s a cozy porch and fire pit to hang out around out back, and nature all around! The beds were comfy and there was satellite tv to watch after walking all day on the trails. The roads can be somewhat confusing just because we would lose signal to our gps every once in awhile, but the scenery was beautiful so we didn’t mind. We got to see a lot of little critters around the property as well. I would definitely recommend this place if you are looking for a quiet escape into nature. It was very relaxing.

  • We had a wonderful stay at this home! The house was immaculate and the hostesses we’re very nice and easy to reach. The home itself is secluded but located in a charming hilly neighborhood. Quick drive to local parks and hiking. The Whistle Stop Cafe was great and we enjoyed it twice in our weekend stay! Plan your trip ahead of time for parks and hiking, there’s so much to see!!

  • We were nervous to stay without reviews but we needed a place on short notice. Rhonda and Ron were amazing hosts! We got in late but Rhonda had sent the door code and directions earlier that day. The house was very clean and everything worked correctly. The house is very comfortable and we felt at home right away. They provided us with free coffee and Rhonda let us know she left some orange juice in the fridge that we could have. They gave us directions to all the trail heads which were super easy to get to, just turn left! The pool table was great and the karaoke machine was hilariously fun. Beds were nice and the bath towels were soft. The garage was empty so were able to store our bikes inside overnight! The fire pit and grill out back were also nice and we had some great evenings spent there. Overall we had a blast and can not wait to return.
