Ben and Zoë's place is exactly as advertised. Very clean, spacious and comfortable. Zoë was very easy to communicate with and we appreciate that she left everything ready for us, as we had such a late arrival. She was very sweet and gave us ideas for our day ahead the next morning. Thanks for that Zoë, even though it rained, we enjoyed our drive to the Locks, the area was beautiful!

Zoë and Ben’s cozy house was the perfect place for us to stay in Perth. We were just there for one night to attend the theatre festival in town. We didn’t see much of either of them (too bad as they seem lovely!) but they were super easy-going and communicative before and during our stay. The area is quiet while still being close to everything, and the incredibly comfy bed under the open windows made for a restful night’s sleep. I’m not much of a bath person but their massive soaker tub might convert even me… Highly recommended!

My wife and I had a wonderful stay. The private bathroom with the modern oversized bathtub was a great way to relax at the end of the day. The location is great, as it is only a one or two-minute drive to beautiful downtown Perth. Zoe was there to meet us at the door and made us feel very welcome. For the price, you simply cannot go wrong staying here.

Patricia's beautiful home was the perfect location for my son and daughter in law's overnight stay whilst attending a wedding at Stewart Park and reception at Crystal Palace in downtown Perth, both within easy walking distance. Angus and Michelle had a wonderful stay, the room and bed were very comfortable and Patricia was a warm and accommodating host. Highly recommend and would definitely stay there again when back in the area.

My husband and I came to celebrate our 2nd year wedding anniversary at Don's cabin. It was everything we wanted and more. It was simple living and a slice of paradise. It has been by far one of our most favourite spots to stay. We brought our dog and he enjoyed all the wildlife - bunnies, lots of frogs, birds and swimming! It doesn't get any better than this and Don was extremely knowledgeable and helpful. We can't wait to come again soon! Thanks Don for your hospitality!

Don and his cabin were both wonderful! My friend and I were searching for an escape from the city and we found the perfect place in Don's cabin. It is rustic and off the grid, yet fully equipped and absolutely beautiful. The Tay River is the best place I've swam in a long time, with smooth, round pebbles lining the bottom and robust, shady trees over hanging the riverbank. Don was a gracious host who gave us our space when wanted but was readily available when needed. Thank you so much for sharing your little slice of heaven with us. I look forward to returning soon!

The rustic cabin was amazing! And, so was Don! He is super nice and knowledgable. As mentioned in other reviews, the cabin has everything you need. The kitchen was well-stock; equipped with a propane stove top, some spices, kitchenware, and even a french press! There's no running water, but Don provided us with plenty of water from his well. There's an outhouse for all of your bathroom needs. Plenty of firewood! The river is one of the cleanest I've ever been in. And, there's plenty of wildlife - beavers, rabbits, chipmunks, frogs. All in all, our time spent at the rustic cabin was serene and extremely relaxing. We would love go back again, and for a much longer amount of time! Thank you so much, Don!

Don's place is simply incredible and is a sanctuary to escape the hustle and bustle of life. We stayed here for a 2 day rest stop after traveling for 3 months and it was exactly what we needed. The cabin is 'rustic' but charming. Kayaking was wonderful. The campfire of a night and a wine is so relaxing by the river. Go here and forget your troubles. thanks Don :)

We had a fantastic time at Don's cabin, even if the weather didn't cooperate. It's an incredibly cozy cabin, complete with everything that you will need including a BBQ, an icebox, sink, etc, and perfect for reading all day on a rainy Saturday. The cabin is situated along the river (which was exceptionally clean and calm) and, although you can faintly hear the highway and the occasional passing train, is very private. Moreover, it is completely off-the-grid, powered exclusively by solar panels on the outside. Don was a fantastic host, warm and friendly, and passionate about sustainable living. He was happy to answer our questions about solar energy and reducing our ecological footprint, and was even so kind as to show us his house (which is beautiful and really inspirational, Don)! All in all, if you're looking for a quiet time at a beautiful rustic cabin, this is the place for you! We definitely hope to get back there in the near future!

If your into the outdoors and want to experience it in the most natural way... Stay here! Such beautiful surroundings and the river is beautiful for a swim and it's so private you could hop in naked. The cabin had everything you would need except a shower, so don't forget your environmentally friendly soap to bath in the river. Don was an awesome host and was even kind enough to share his knowledge of solar powered energy and sustainable living. Can't wait to come back, thanks Don!

We had arrived early at the cabin and found Don there to welcome us and ready to show us around. The cabin is very cozy and comfortable and very well equipped, even for 2 adults and 2 dogs. Being campers we overpacked. All we really needed was our clothes, bedding, food and toiletries. We'd brought a camp heater but didn't need it. We'd booked for 4 nights so we brought a battery operated shower which was heaven on day 3. Im sure the river would have been fine but I have a bit of a fear of water. As read in the other reviews the property is very private so no problem showering outside. We also brought our porta-potty for our middle of the night needs. We made use of the BBQ for cooking and used the indoor propane stove/oven for coffee. And of course, hotdogs over the fire at night. The icebox worked surprisingly well keeping all our food cold. There was still lots of ice when Don came by to replace it after a couple of days. Oh, and I absolutely love Don's beautiful fire pit overlooking the water! Living off the grid for a few days was fantastic. The dogs were in doggy heaven chasing frogs and chipmunks. I saw birds I'd never seen before. The quiet mixed with the trains going by in the distance every so often was wonderful. Don is very down to earth (no pun intended!) and easy to talk to. He's a very busy man but he makes sure you're comfortable and have everything you need. Don is very welcoming and takes the time to answer your questions and doesn't make you feel like you're invading his home. The property itself is very interesting with an old working water pump, old building foundations, tons of wild flowers and trails. The cabin seems to be very popular so we were very lucky to be able to book for a few days during the week. We're looking forward to visiting again next year.

Jackie was very patient and flexible, she welcomed me warmly after I arrived 8 hours later than planned. After a long day on the road it was heart warming to be welcomed into such a beautifully cozy home by a wonderful lady. She took time to show me around and explain the property. We crossed paths a few times during the stay and this was welcomed as Jackie is very pleasant and kind. This home is perfectly set up with a spectacular background as it is located on the water with a patio that is a great place to sit and enjoy the morning. It was very clean and extremely well organized. The best part is I felt at home so far from home and knew that I had two wonderful people upstairs if I needed absolutely anything. Jackie made us feel very welcome indeed. We had some nice conversations. The well-appointed apartment is spacious and comfortable- full kitchen, large living room (with gas fireplace), dining nook, bedroom with very comfortable queen bed. Lots of other nice touches. The windows look out over a lawn sloping down to Lake Otty; it is very tranquil and beautiful. The neighborhood is a quiet suburban one . Don't pass up Jackie's wonderful Dutch-style breakfast- it is enough for an army and beautifully presented. We certainly hope to return when we next visit Perth.

The Otty Lake Retreat is surprisingly spacious, and is built right on the shore of the lake. The location provides incredible views of the water and it almost feels like the structure is built in the trees. One of the nicest features is the screened in porch adjacent to the master bedroom which provides for not only a spectacular view, but a wonderful early morning, or late night relaxation spot. Features are simple, but good enough for a retreat in the woods. The cottage has several eclectic artistic touches that add to the positive experience.The area is quiet with little traffic or noise. The dock is modest and the seating by the water is limited. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Otty Lake Retreat.

Gregori squeezed us in at the last minute for a pre New Years's Eve getaway. We loved the space and views of Otty Lake. His art nouveau forms beautifully encircled us along with the first real snow of the year.

We spent a week at the Little Cottage on the Rideau. David met us at the cottage and spent time showing us around. He also checked in by email a few times to make sure everything was ok. The cottage came stocked with clean linens and plenty of beach and bath towels. We used the BBQ and espresso maker many times. It was an intensely hot week, but the cottage seemed to be on a fairly windy section of the lake, so it was tolerable with the windows open. The kids spent hours in the warm, fairly shallow water. We did day trips to Merrickville, Smith's Falls and Perth. Overall we were very happy with our stay and would recommend it to anyone looking for a quintessential Canadian cottage experience.

cute place to stay on the water! loved having the bikes and kayaks to use - 2 of the locks were right down the road. delicious cinnamon buns left for us upon our arrival...would definitely recommend !

All was great, communication was clear and to the point. It wasn't difficult to find and was secluded enough but still close to two towns. Kids loved all of the frogs, fish and snakes.

We were made to feel very welcome at the cottage and enjoyed the special treats left for us. The cottage was lovely and the perfect size for for four adult/almost adults. The kayaks were put to good use as was the hammock and fire pit. We had perfect weather and even enjoyed a couple of evenings star gazing. The cottage was clean and all the appliances were in good working order. The beds were also comfortable and great for naps. David has been very helpful in helping us retrieve an item that was accidentally left behind. Would definitely recommend this cottage to others. Our only concern was that we had a late checkin (6:00). We would have liked to have started our stay earlier but understand because the host family was still there. Many thanks a maybe we could plan a longer stay next time.

The host left us baked goods as a welcome gift and a note of introduction. We enjoyed our stay however found the bathroom very small, the cottage overall is very rustic. The weather was great the week we were there and we enjoyed entertaining our guests. The outdoor living areas are lovely but it is important to note that the lakefront is weedy and not good for children but nice for kayaking. Unfortunately the stove burners did not all work and the hot water heater was troublesome. Owner plans to fix these problems. AC is limited to a window unit in one bedroom. Fishing in the lake is great.

If you are fine with that then Janice is a very welcoming host wanting to hear our travel stories but also giving us the freedom to come and go as we please. Great to have a private rear entrance and access to the kitchen. The building itself is a fascinating home. We enjoyed our stay.

Janet and Gary are fabulous, They are warm and welcoming. It was like visiting our old friends, we stayed there for one night and cooked together. Janet made a very delicious Thai vegetable roll and Gary cooked chicken. Both were yummy yummy. Gary is very nice, he tried to make it as our home and made some Persian dishes with red wine. Janet is really nice, educated and mature. My wife was pregnant and she taught a lot to us. We really enjoyed staying there and will definitely come back again.

But she kindly left everything for us and replied all my questions and concerns in time. It's a very cozy house and my parents and I enjoyed our stay there. Our hosts were very welcoming and full of good intentions. We really could do at home, we serve in the fridge. We even had the right to comforting cakes after many hours away! Shirley and Bill are warm and welcoming hosts! Their farm is beautiful and the accommodations were lovely. The bed we used was very comfortable and the room ambiance is light and airy. There is a nice private patio connected which we didn't have a chance to make use of but would've been a perfect place to sit and enjoy the area. Our itinerary meant we spent very little time at the farm unfortunately, but Bill and Shirley made sure we had everything we needed. We were able to take a taxi from downtown Perth for ~$25. We would definitely return and were already recommending their place to friends!

We had a wonderful stay with Bill and Shirley at their berry farm. This was our first AirBnB experience, and I can only hope that our next ones will be as excellent. We came to go to the annual Stewart Park Music Festival in Perth Ontario and we are looking forward to booking with Bill and Shirley again next year. Highly recommended!

We thoroughly enjoyed our one-night stay at the berry farm. We had a bit of trouble with the directions but phoned and Bill directed us quite easily. The space is very comfortable and private, with lovely views of the farm. We had a nice visit with Shirley and Bill the next day, and they gave us a small tour of the farm. And gave us some freshly harvested garlic to take home! Highly recommended, we'd certainly come back!

My mother felt like she was living in the lap of luxury. It was her first Airbnb experience and she really enjoyed it. From the moment we began the booking process it was obvious that the hosts were friendly and accommodating. We attended a wedding in the Perth area and were looking for a quiet and peaceful spot to stay, and we were not disappointed. The room was very comfortable with private bath and a beautiful private outdoor sitting area. We enjoyed a nice breakfast outside and walking around the grounds of their farm, but the most memorable part of the experience was meeting the hosts themselves. Bill and Shirley are extremely friendly and interesting people who for new bnb hosts seem to easily find the perfect balance to provide us with an extremely pleasant stay.
