  • We really enjoyed our stay here, lovely space, plenty of room, surrounded by fields and nice and quiet. It was just what we needed.

    Ian2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • I enjoyed my stay here. Caroline was welcoming, the cottage was warm and had everything I needed for my stay including some tasty eggs from her hens! Parking was right outside and had the weather been better I would have been able to use the table and chairs outside.

    Janet2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely property - even better than it looks in the pictures. Very clean and well equipped, and the field at the back was great for a lively dog. Caroline was helpful and welcoming - we’ll definitely be returning.

    Rik2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our New Year break in Caroline’s very comfortable barn. It was warm, spacious, comfortable and homely. Caroline had provided many little extras which were very welcome. All the equipment worked well. The bed was extremely comfortable and although there were a couple of cockerels with the hens we weren’t disturbed at all by them. There are many lovely short and long walks in the area and Gt Ayton is a picturesque quintessentially English village. I’d have every confidence in recommending a holiday here.

    Catherine2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Fabulous location for touring the area, this cottage was very comfortable and well equipped. Caroline is a great host, creating a relaxed atmosphere and communicating really quickly. We felt very welcome and would definitely return when back in the area.

A secluded getaway. Night life only extends to the twit twooing of the owls. Nestled into the forest with a beck trickling by. It's perfect for those wishing to log out and explore the countryside on foot. Tons of walks including a gorgeous 4 mile round walk taking in 11th-centuary Rievaulx Abbey ruins and a cup of tea at the cafe along the way. The chocolate box town of Helmsley is just five miles away with walled garden, castle ruins, shops, restaurants and amenities.
A self contained unit with a spacious bedroom, bathroom opening through French doors on to a private deck and garden at the back. A small but well equipped kitchenette with a gas hob/oven, fridge and sink shares he entrance with a dining/sitting area. The cottage is situated next door to the host, who are on hand to help. DAB radio with aux, DVD library and wifi running at typically rural speeds.
Located on the edge of the North Yorkshire Moors National Park makes our cottage ideal for exploring the local breathtaking scenery, beautiful old market towns of Helmsley and Thirsk and picturesque villages such as Rievaulx. Perfect for visiting the historic sites of Rievaulx Abbey and Helmsley Castle as well as our modest but beautiful 1100AD Church in Old Byland. The cottage is located in an utterly idyllic and secluded part of the world, really you won't believe your eyes.
  • What a fantastic place couldnt recommend enough! Peace and tranquility at its peak!!

    James2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Such a cute little place with beautiful surroundings. Lots of cute local things to do and Katy’s place is a fantastic little place to retreat to! Myself, husband and two border collies had a fantastic stay :)

    Jess2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We would thoroughly recomend staying here. It's set in a very remote, peaceful area. A beautiful brook running through the back garden, what more could you ask for. If you're looking for a relaxing break with some beautiful walks and scenery nearby, you'd struggle to find somewhere that ticks as many boxes as this does. Coupled with the fact that you have two wonderful and attentive (but not intrusive) hosts on hand in Katy and Skot. All in all, a wonderful place to visit, relax, unwind and recharge the batteries. We'll be back in the summer, when mother nature is a little less cruel lol.

    Andy2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is absolutely beautiful and in a really gorgeous location. My partner and I loved sitting in the armchairs in front of the big French doors, admiring the scenery and listening to the stream. The cottage is remote enough that you can really settle into nature, but there are also plenty of shops, pubs, cafes etc nearby if desired! Katy and Skot were such warm, friendly hosts and they made us feel so welcome. Katy knows the local areas well and provided some lovely recommendations for nearby cafes / restaurants. We would 100% recommend a stay here to anyone, and really hope to come back again ourselves to experience its beauty in the summer :)

    Hannah2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • What a gorgeous and tranquil location off the beaten track! It was so nice listening to the stream whilst falling to sleep accompanied with the odd hoot of an owl. The cottage was sparkling clean and well stocked of the essentials, it was cosy and warm even during a colder month like January. The hosts were very thoughtful and considerate and we couldn’t have asked for anything more.

    Sam2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Such a wonderful stay- couldn’t have asked for anything more. Cosy, comfortable and amongst wildlife. If you need a break or peaceful getaway, this place is for you.

    Lydia2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • A very remote location so perfect for hiking, stargazing, and exploring the beautiful surrounding towns. We went in winter and still had a gorgeous time, we made a fire pit which warmed us up! They were lovely hosts and went out of their way to get us what we needed. They also had a very cute dog & baby :) will be going back here!

    Eve2020-01-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great place for a retreat - lovely to wake up to the sound of the river. We had great fun watching the wildlife from a cosy cabin!

    Carol2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Really enjoyed staying over at Alasdair's place. It is very close from the train station - just about 10 minutes on foot. The room is very quiet with the bathroom just next to it and one has everything one needs. The high street is just around the corner - including a large Tesco. Alasdair was very hospitable: I arrived late - after 10pm - and was given very clear instructions as to how to get there. Much appreciated!

  • We have returned from a lovely new year break. The house can only be described as "House Goals". We booked fairly late, but what a find! The house is beautiful and welcoming, and the feel or it is just lovely. The house has been decorated to a high standard, the kitchen is well equipped, the living room is cosy and the best are so comfortable, the bathroom is beautiful, basically, I would like to live there! This house is perfect for a getaway. We will be back! Thankyou Jane xx

  • We loved our few days here and will definitely be re-booking as a base to see family in North Yorkshire. The location is perfect for exploring the local area and relaxing in the peace and quiet of the countryside. The cottage is beautiful inside and out, immaculately kept with everything working and a large amount of space. Jane decorated the cottage for Christmas which was lovely and we felt at home as soon as we arrived, helped too by a really thoughtful welcome pack. Great directions and communication helped us find the property without any difficulty and we arrived later in the evening which was no problem at all. Highly recommend!

Harrogate the spa town is close by and no visit would be complete without a visit to Bettys cafe and tea rooms. The fat Rascals are to die for. A little further away are the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. Well worth exploring if your time allows.

  • What a beautiful cottage in a perfect location. The whole process was so easy. Having the key safe took away the pressure of rushing to get there at a certain time as we arrived very late. The cottage was clean and had loads of nice touches and most of all it was comfortable. I will be returning for sure. Thank you

  • Great cottage . Lovely kitchen/dining room with a log fire. Huge garden . Fantastic location in Stokesley.. all the bard cafes and shops just minutes away. Two good size bedrooms but with very steep stairs which we had been warned about. Good size bathroom with a bath and a separate shower . Everything we needed for a weeks stay .

    Mary2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Delia’s place. Great communication from the beginning. The cottage was stylish and lovely and clean, with extra touches of fresh flowers, biscuits etc, and a walking map as we had mentioned a local walk we wanted to do.. Great location near all the shops and places to eat in Stokesley and a great base for exploring the area. We would definitely recommend this lovey cottage and Delia and Andy were great hosts.

  • We just returned from a lovely weekend at the Lodge. The location is stunning with amazing views and sheep, cows (and peacocks!) roaming to keep our little ones entertained. It is spotlessly clean and the fresh eggs and home made brownies etc on arrival were a lovely touch. We will be visiting again in the summer

  • The lodge is a great place to stay and it was the perfect base for our trip with it being warm, clean and welcoming. It has lovely views and everything we needed. Elizabeth was a great host, we really enjoyed our stay and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it to anyone or stay again.

  • Great value lodge. Immaculately clean and we loved the little touches like fresh milk, eggs, bread and home made brownie! We will be back to stay soon. The lodge has everything you need for a relaxing weekend away. Elizabeth was a great host. Our little boy loved watching the cows being fed and stroking the farm dogs. Thanks again!

    Cheryl2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! Elizabeth's lodge is truly stunning, light, bright, spacious with fantastic views! I think it has to be my favourite air bnb place so far...and I've stayed in a few! It was so clean, private and really quiet (apart from the wind and rain storm ciara brought! haha) We did an 8 mile circular walk from the village of carlton, up to carlton bank, along to Faceby and finished in the pub back at carlton with a roaring fire and much deserved pint of ale. Highly recommend Elizabeth's place and can't wait to return in the warmer weather.

    Lisa2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Super place to stay. The Lodge had everything I needed, was warm and comfortable, quiet and with lovely views. The homemade cake was delicious and I enjoyed the eggs knowing they came from the farm. Hope to come back when the weather is better so that I can make use of the garden and explore the local walks.

    Janet2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable, sparkling clean and great location for a relaxing weekend. Also, very thoughtful welcome pack including home made cake. Great value for money!

    Jasmine2020-01-06T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay here. The lodge is situated at the back of a farm sitting in its own fenced grassed area with parking and amazing views of the hills. Inside is spacious, well equipped and warm with lots of thoughtful extra touches. We only wished we'd booked a longer stay!

    Eleanor2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely couple of days in Elizabeth's lodge. The place is cosy with some lovely touches. There was even a real Christmas tree, perfect for a post Christmas break. The views are amazing and Elizabeth the host couldn't be more helpful.

A peaceful, warm and comfortable converted barn situated within the North Yorks Moors National Park with the Coast to Coast, Cleveland Way and other walks from the doorstep. The cottage is semi detached to our farmhouse with it's own private garden, shed with barbecue area and small wood giving complete privacy.
We are in a very peaceful location with an abundance of wild and bird life, dark skies and open views. There is a large unfenced pond to the front of the cottage, children must be supervised at all times. Access to the cottage is via a farm track, not suitable for very low cars.
We are close to The Wainstones, popular for climbing, and are a short drive from beautiful moorland villages, the North Yorks steam railway, Castle Howard, Fountains and Rievaulx Abbeys and the spectacular North Yorks Moors. The coastal towns of Whitby, Saltburn and Robin Hoods Bay are also very popular.. We are a haven for walkers with the Coast to Coast, Cleveland Way and numerous other walks accessible from the doorstep. The pretty town of Stokesley is six miles away with numerous pubs, restaurants, cafes and shops.
  • My second stay here and I enjoyed it just as much as the first time. Spotlessly clean and comfortable, stunning views and really peaceful.

  • Super place to stay with everything I needed. The cottage was warm and welcoming with parking directly outside. Long drive up but I had no problem at all in my car. I particularly enjoyed watching the birds on the feeder in the morning and was lucky enough to spot a woodpecker!

    Janet2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • What a marvelous find, a clean, extremely comfortable self contained cottage in a beautiful part of the North Yorkshire Moors. We love the countryside and the cottage provided a delightful retreat with great views, an abundance of wildlife and walking trails right on the doorstep. The cottage wants for nothing, it is clean, bright and airy and contains everything you are likely to need whilst on holiday. The friendly owners live right next door and although non intrusive they are there if you have problems or need anything.

On working dairy farm this cosy wooden chalet offers, a fully equipped kitchen with oven and hob, fridge with small freezer compartment. Flat screen TV, sofa, dining table and chairs. King sized bed, good sized wardrobe and en-suite shower room.
This is a small but perfectly formed chalet with plenty of space to do your own thing cooking etc. It also has a private outside space with seating area.

  • This is the first time we have used Airbnb and I'm very impressed. We had a lovely weekend in a lovely location. Nicks place had everything we needed as our base for a weekend of walking. The kitchen is well stocked and everything is very clean and comfortable. There has been a log burner fitted which was great. The only thing and I'm being picky here is we could have done with a metal bucket for the Ash. Would I go again hell yes of course I would 5stars

Contemporary living in a gorgeous cosy cottage in Carlton in Cleveland, a beautiful quiet village in the North Yorks Moors National Park where the horse drawn Fire engine for the village was kept in the 1800's. *With Fast Wifi* We provide Fresh milk in a glass bottle and Orange juice, seeded brown uncut loaf, ground coffee, teabags, butter and home made marmalade. No extra cleaning charges! There is a great pub in the village, The Blackwell Ox serving genuine Thai food and excellent real ales
This space is the ground floor with a bedroom, kitchen/diner and shower room/toilet. Lovely and warm with very effective and controllable central heating. The super comfortable double bed (that most guest remark on as giving a great night's sleep can be changed into 2 x Singles, if requested in advance. The cottage was originally built in about 1750 but is now fully fitted to a contemporary, modern and high standard.
This is a beautiful part of North Yorkshire, in the North York Moors National Park and also in a Conservation area. Nearby is The Blackwell Ox pub that is a great local pub serving great genuine Thai food (and British favourites) and real ales. The staff are very friendly and we are fortunate to have such a good local pub! At the top of Carlton Bank is the Lord Stones Country Park where they serve good steaks from their own cattle in The Belted Bull. There are other really good pubs serving good food locally including the superb Golden Lion at Osmotherley that is about 10 minutes drive from here. This is our favourite restaurant! There are very good shops in the nearby market town of Stokesley that is less than 4 miles away with butchers, bakers, a bank, Post Office, Co-op Convenience store and a larger Co-op on the outskirts, coffee shops, bars, restaurants and many small independent shops and even a Mirco pub the Green man! A fantastic location for walking, cycling or just as a base to tour the Moors or pop down to the coast - Whitby is only a 40 minute drive, Saltburn is just a 25 minute drive away. York is about an hour away as well as Leeds and Newcastle.
  • Great property perfect for a work or leisure trip. Nice touches including lovely cakes, fresh bread and quality juices and milk.

  • From the second we arrived both John and Amanda proved they deserve the super host rating they’ve got, we’d mentioned that we were arriving quite late but when we pulled up at almost 9:30 they still made the effort to come and welcome us! The cottage was immaculate and incredibly cosy and already the heating was already on for us! The welcome pack was also incredibly useful! And the cake was spectacular! Thank you to both of you for an amazing stay and to everyone else you could not find a better place to come if you’re planning to spend some time in the area

    James2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful cottage in a gorgeous little village. It was a pleasure to say and would be amazing to visit again! Thanks!

    Jennifer2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect property for a work trip. Great location and a well equipped very comfortable property with a number of thoughtful touches. Amanda and John were great hosts.

    Jonathan2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous annex with loads of room and really well equipped. Brilliant location for getting up onto the moors quickly, as well as being reasonably close to Guisborough if you need to do a bigger shop

    Helen2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • From another review we read, we were anticipating Amanda's cake, and we were not disappointed. When we arrived, the place was clean, and we were supplied with milk, bread, marmalade, and delicious cake--all that we needed to survive for the first day or so as we recovered from jetlag and got our bearings in a new surrounding. We were there over Christmas, and on Christmas morning, John and Amanda left us a Christmas card, which made us feel so welcome and a little less homesick. The place is beautiful and the location is amazing. There is so much to do and see around the area. But, what makes the stay extra special is the care and kindness that John and Amanda give while you are there. We hope to return soon! Thank you for such a lovely stay!

    Glen2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Enjoyed my stay in the cottage. It was warm and cosy with everything I needed. The homemade cake was delicious. I didn’t have time to explore the area but there were some good suggestions of places to go which John and Amanda have put together. Perhaps next time!

Dawn's property is well equipped, the beds are all comfortable and there's plenty of resources for little ones. Great place for chilling out and shopping in Northallerton. Book here for a peaceful cosy night’s stay in the heart of Great Ayton! The guest bedroom is a small cosy size with desk space and comfy 3/4 bed. Kitchen/bathroom shared, front room is private. Cottage is on a quiet street with a little shop 4 doors down for amenities & curry house at end of road. 10 min walk to the charming high street with pubs, shops, fish & chips, 2 micro pubs. It’s a shared property with myself & my 2 cats Amber and Arthur who are lovely - only cat lovers should book here!
This is a cosy cottage over 150 years old, ideal place to set up camp whilst you explore the boyhood village of James Cook - Great Ayton. 2 cats live here so only book if you love felines and aren’t allergic! Guests have a private bedroom, shared bathroom and kitchen with myself. Front room is a private space for me! Other than that make yourself at home. There is a small yard at exterior of property which is the entrance for guests. I use the front door entrance. Looking forward to welcoming you.
The pretty village of Great Ayton is perched on the banks of the River Leven. The village has ancient origins, with several Neolithic sites within the parish boundary. In former times, the village's industries included linen making, tanning, brewing and mining. Nowadays, the village is well known for its two picturesque village greens, Captain Cook Schoolroom Museum and proximity to the intriguing Roseberry Topping mountain. There are plenty of walks to enjoy, you must try Suggits sweets and ice cream shop and enjoy a walk along the river Leven.
  • Sophie made us feel welcome in her cosy cottage in Great Ayton. The bed was comfy and there were all the required amenities. Her two cats are adorable. The location is perfect, with shops and pubs a short walk away and a short drive to the beautiful North Yorkshire Moors, where we enjoyed a climb up the infamous Roseberry Topping for stunning views. Intend to stay again!

  • We had the pleasure of staying here this weekend for one night. It was a gem of find and way exceeded my exceptions. As I was on my own with 2 young children (5 and 1) it was ideal as the kids could just run around in complete safety and we weren't disturbing anyone. My daughter spent time playing in the swings and a good time was had by all. The location was ideal for exploring and the place itself was clean and inviting. We'll definitely be back.

  • Jean and John were the perfect hosts. They were friendly and gave us good recommendations such as the North P&R for York and where to get petrol. The annexe was everything we needed and more. We loved the added touches and the helpfulness of Jean and John when booking us a taxi to get to our restaurant. I would highly recommend this place to stay! Thank you :)

  • Jean and John’s annexe is simply THE best value we have ever had from Air BnB - beautifully run, great attention to detail and complete comfort, cosiness and privacy. They were such kind and friendly hosts and so incredibly patient with our delays in getting there. Couldn’t recommend The Buddliea Annexe and its fantastic hosts more highly!

Very light attic bedroom with two skylights, a double bed and a sofa. The bathroom is not quite en-suite, but is just for you and is on the same floor. The house has off-street parking, is opposite a beautiful park and is within very easy walking distance (5 mins, some cobbles) to Thirsk town centre. There is both a pub and a church nearby, though neither are loud. The house has two very affectionate cats so please do not come here if you are allergic to cats!
There is a fridge, microwave and kettle available in your room.
This is quite a quiet area of Thirsk, but is still very close to the town centre, the James Herriot museum and the Thirsk museum. There are lots of countryside walks that start almost from the house that are easy to find information on from the Thirsk information centre or online. I am well-versed on the local eateries and a local cocktail bar has opened nearby which I am making an effort to familiarise myself with.
  • We have stayed here 3 times now.. we love it. its Fantastic little place.. lovely.. private spacious attic room.. with own shower/wash room. Tea & coffee making facilities .. cereal and choc bickies are supplied too! Perfect location.. Just five minutes walk into Thirsk town centre.. for local shops, restaurants and pubs. We will hopefully be back again soon. Eve & Matt are the perfect hosts. You won’t be disappointed 👌

    Debi2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, private room. Had a good night's sleep and breakfast in the morning.

    Paul2019-11-23T00:00:00Z
  • Eve's place is in an amazing location for Thirsk and the surrounding area. The attic is very spacious, comfy bed and the shower is excellent. There were lots of thoughtful touches like the chocolate biscuits and coffee bags and we loved the cute and very friendly cats! Everything is sparkling clean and she made us really welcome. I would absolutely recommend it.

    Clare2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent location in your own part of the house. Eve and Matt lovely, relaxed hosts. Great value for money.

    Kim2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Eve's a great host and the place is spot on,ticks all the boxes 👍

    Paul2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was a bit unusual, in that we (my son and I) were in Thirsk for a party, and due to a taxi mix up we actually didn’t end up sleeping at the property at all! We were in a bit of rush and didn’t spend much time there. But we wished we had. The room is as described - actually better, in that the sofa bed looks really comfortable. The location is close to the town centre. The road is not busy and the Velux windows in the room open to the back. There is tea, coffee bags (so real coffee ❤️) and granola in the room. And Eve and her partner could not be nicer or more helpful and considerate. Definitely a top bet in Thirsk.

    Nick2019-08-31T00:00:00Z

The Granary at North Kilvington is a 19 century barn that has been converted into a holiday cottage. Private parking and gardens with views across open land, visitors can use secure bike storage and clothing/boot drying locker. We are close to the Hambleton hills rich with cycling and walking routes, The City of York Park and Ride is 20 mins drive. incl WiFi , Wide screen TV , a DVD Library , full Kitchen facilities inc integrated dishwasher , fridge /Freezer, Microwave and a welcome pack.
Within the accommodation the original roof trusses can be seen, these are constructed from Canadian Pine, the large timber beams are slow grown and have growth rings of 250 yrs. Look for the carpenters joint marks where the timbers intersect, these would enable the assembly of the timbers in situ during construction. The Tie bars that run from the outer wall through the kitchen and Bathroom areas are an echo from the historic use of the building. Grain would be stored in the building upper floor away from any damp, however as the loading of grain increased this would have applied outward pressure to the walls causing them to spread – therefore the tie bars were inserted to prevent damage to the structure. The Granary has been beautifully furnished and decorated to compliment the original features, using high quality Oak timbers for internal woodwork and artisan Blacksmith fixtures, Private parking and gardens with fruit trees and views across open land are provided for visitors comfort and enjoyment, (the sunsets can be spectacular) also visitors can use a secure bike storage and clothing/boot drying locker within the storage area below the accommodation.
We are located between the North Yorkshire Moors and the Yorkshire Dales and have great access to York, Middlesbrough and the Market towns of Hambleton .There are great independent cafes and wonderful pubs serving excellent ales and food in the nearby villages and towns

  • A lovely little place which is tastefully decorated, well looked after, and was a pleasure to stay at. Jeff and Karen were great hosts, offering us mobility aids for our disabled mother and going out of their way to meet our accessibility needs. They had also added thoughtful touches such as a Christmas tree and a generous hamper, which we were very grateful for. We very much enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend The Shippen to other potential guests. Thank you Jeff and Karen!

    Natalie2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • This place is perfect in every way. Stay here you will not be disappointed!!

    Maggie2019-12-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay at The Shippen. It was a perfect place for a family trip to visit some relatives in the area. So many thoughtful touches in the welcome hamper and the kitchens and bathrooms stocked with all the essentials. Everyone was so friendly, from Karen when she showed us round to the staff at the stables who introduced our 4 month old to his first horse. Will certainly be coming back the next time we are visiting relatives locally.

    Chris2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • The Shippen is a lovely place to stay with easy access to the North York Moors, Yorkshire Dales and York itself. It is in avery peaceful and quiet local which provides excellent views of the night sky (when it's clear). Karen is a great host and bery helpful too!

    Richard2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Karen & Jeff were absolutely brilliant hosts, and really couldn't do enough for us (without being at all overbearing!). The cottages are lovely & the amenities on-site are brilliant, our 3-year old daughter loved the playground & exploring the stables & surrounding area with Jeff's granddaughters! As a wheelchair user I found the height of the bed a bit of an issue but Jeff built a platform to enable me to get on & off the bed easily. I'd highly recommend staying here, & it's close enough to York, Whitby, Scarborough etc. to be a great base to explore the area. We'll be back next year!

    Jamie2019-08-10T00:00:00Z
  • A fantastic host, amazing surroundings, clean and beautifully designed and resourced cottage. Everything you could wish for and more. Our hosts made our visit so comfortable by making sure everyone, including our disabled mum, had everything we could possibly need , being available for us at the same time as giving us privacy. We couldn’t recommend this host and beautiful accommodation/location more!!!

  • We’ve just had a relaxing two night break at Jayne’s Master suite accommodation which was perfect for us and our dog. The photos can’t convey the comfort of the bed, or how spacious and accommodating the bedroom and en-suite are. The courtyard was perfect for allowing the dog out safely and the woodland walks along the river to the village cafe directly over a bridge from the garden was perfect. We would happily recommend and hope to return soon.

Big house just off the high street and a short walk to the train station. On-street parking pass available if requested in advance. Otherwise off road parking available in the car park across the road for less than £4 per 24 hours (refundable against a purchase in the local pub). Good base to explore the North York Moors or Yorkshire Dales.
Market day is Wednesday and Saturday. Plenty of interesting shops to explore within walking distance. Northallerton train station is on the East Coast mainline serving many destinations such as York, London, Newcastle, Leeds, Manchester and Whitby (via Middlesbrough).
  • As in my previous stay, Alastair was happy to facility a late check in. He needed to move me to a larger room than I'd booked which of course was fine and he was gracious enough to check in advance if this was OK. I'd definitely stay again.

    Joseph2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Would recommend. Alisdair's place is very well kept, the room is comfortable, with the Himalayan salt lamp a nice touch. Ideal location for access to the high street, only a minute walk away. Alasdair and his wife are friendly hosts and made us feel very welcome and comfortable.

    David2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Alasdair is a friendly and generous host.

    Vanessa2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Alasdair was the loveliest host: easy-going and always ready to help. There were some minor issues with the door of my room upon arrival, and Alasdair immediately offered to upgrade me to a larger room. He also provided an extra heater when I said I suffer the cold, and was happy for me to use the kitchen when I needed it. Being at Alastair’s is really cosy and it is the Airbnb home experience, where you can hang out and have a chat or have your own space. Useful that there was parking outside (free between 6pm and 8am) and it is very close to Northallerton centre at walking distance. I definitely recommend staying with Alastair. Thank you!

  • Alisdair and his partner are wonderfully warm hosts and do their best to make you feel at home. I wasn’t there for very long but they did everything they could to make me feel welcome. Definitely worth staying there if you’re having a trip in Northallerton for whatever reason.

  • Alasdair is warm, down to earth and welcoming. His place is simple but has all that you need and top local tips too. I will gladly return on another trip. :)

  • Great location within 10 minutes walk from the station, close to the shops in the town centre, with a large grassy park and play area around the corner. Very quiet and had a good nights sleep. There is a great TV in the room and full use of the kitchen.
