Places to stay in Oracle

Places to stay in Oracle
This is the LANDMARK western style apartment. There are lots of fun things to do in Oracle. Biking, hiking, hunting, horseback riding, a variety of dining options, the Arizona Zip Line, back road to Mt. Lemon, antique shops, sight seeing around this beautiful country, A.T.V. rentals and more. We can also host weddings and special events. Or just kick back and enjoy the serenity of small town Oracle.
  • The Landmark is a wonderful Air BnB experience. My husband and I highly recommend it to those who are planning to stay in the Oracle area. Very welcoming, comfortable, and lovely touches.

  • Carol and Carl have created a special lodging in an unusual and enjoyable small town. We stayed in the one bedroom apartment which shares the second floor of a unique historical structure called the Landmark. The apartment was very clean and well equipped. It's private, quiet, and spacious. We stayed for four nights and periodically ran into Carl and Carol who were engaged in various chores around the property. Chatting with them made our stay more special as they were full of good cheer and info on the local area.

  • I can’t say enough about Carol & Carl, their beautiful, historic home & the apartment! They were so welcoming! I got to see a bit of the main home & the work they’re doing on it. The decor in the apartment is amazing & authentic. It’s like walking into the Old West. The mini bread loaves were delicious, along with the hardboiled eggs & juices provided. The kitchen has everything you need to cook a meal, if you’re so inclined. It’s very quiet & I slept very well. Thank you so much!

La Casita is located on 2.3 secluded acres next to the Coronado National Forest. The comfortable vintage cottage has good light and sweeping views of the foothills and woodlands around it. A beautiful garden and sitting areas next to the house provide places to relax and enjoy the peaceful nature and many birds that live there. The hiking trailhead to Mt. Lemmon is just 5 minutes walk from the house. These features are what make your stay at La Casita so enjoyable and special.
The cottage is far from the road among the oak trees and native desert vegetation. This private environment is ideal for those who want a natural space to relax and revive in. It is excellent as a retreat or an undisturbed concentrated workspace. La Casita has the charm of a real home, it is vintage with an artistic flavor. The cottage is all about comfort with its sunny living room and beautiful views of the National Forest. There are two large tables with comfortable office chairs that make great working areas for computers with excellent WiFi. The small kitchen is very complete and set up for creating simple tasty meals. The house is LOW tech, there is a radio that receives NPR and local stations, but no TV. There are sleeping arrangements for 3 persons. The comfy double bed in the bedroom has a view of the sunrise shining on the mountain and the couch in the living room makes up into a comfortable full sized bed. A special feature of the property is the beautiful large 'Butterfly Garden' next to the house with shade trees and arid plants that attract butterflies and hummingbirds. This is where you will want to relax in the swing or eat your meals at the large table. At night the garden is lit with outdoor lights that create a magical inviting place to enjoy the evenings. There are several other outdoor sitting areas around the cottage with different views, that offer shade or sun depending on the time of year, day or night. Birders will be happy with the many species of birds around the bird feeders (bird food is supplied). Wildlife such as coyotes, javelinas, deer, rabbits, and bobcats come close to the house often to drink from the water station. Gorgeous sunsets can be seen from the house also at night the skies are perfect for stargazing because Oracle is in a Dark Skies Zone and the house looks out over a the dark expansive area of the National Forest from its hillside. These are just a few of the things that make La Casita so unique. Oracle is a haven for hikers, there are so many trails in the area and surroundings that offer amazing adventures and scenery. The Oracle Ridge trailhead that goes to the top of Mount Lemmon is five minutes walk from the house. It has amazing views in all directions and is definitely advised. Also, the Oracle State Park, 5 minutes by car, has wonderful trails that look out over the San Pedro Valley and the Galiuro Mountains, another great place is Catalina State Park 20 min away for spectacular lower desert scenery. Also there is the Zip Line 15 min away on the Mt. Lemmon Rd.
La Casita is located in the community of Oracle on the north sloops of the Catalina Mountains at 4800 ft. It is considered a High Desert eco system with its own unique combination of plant and animal species. Oracle is a cute little town, with many interesting and fun things to offer. There are several restaurants on American Avenue the main street. My favorites are the Patio Café for a really tasty breakfast or lunch and Rivera’s Mexican food, which has FABULOUS fish tacos on Fridays. The Oracle Inn is fun for a Friday or Saturday night, they often have live music and serve a good steak. The historic Arcadia Ranch Society is an interesting place to visit, it provides a unique view of the early frontier days of the area. If you like to explore a great vintage shop, be sure to visit The Ranch Store. They also offer on wednesday evenings the Farmer's Market with food and music, always a lot of fun. There is also the Oracle Post Office and Library. For general needs there is the Family General Store, but for food shopping the closest large grocery store and pharmacy is in Catalina about 20 min south of Oracle on the road to Tucson.
  • Beautiful, peaceful home in an outstanding location. Would definitely stay here again.

    Terrance2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks Kathy! One of my favorite parts was being next to the trail head. I followed the trail up the mountain 2.6 miles till it reached a ridge where other trails joined it. Amazing and free to experience.

    Will2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • I searched nearly two months to find just the right space that would provide total peace, comfort and solitude during my 30-day retreat from an otherwise frantic, busy life! From the day I arrived I began to "fall in" to La Casita. Kathy has taken great time and care to create an environment at La Casita - both inside and out - that feels literally "soul-restoring". Her site manager Chuck greeted me upon arrival, answered all of my questions, even brought by a bicycle for me to ride around town during my stay! A truly kind and generous soul. Inside I enjoyed a super comfortable bed, hot shower, and plenty of seating and working space options. And the mature landscaping outside - large lush native trees, shrubs, catuses, and rockscapes - and thoughtfully-placed statues, art pieces, and numerous comfortable seating options - truly made the outdoors as much a part of my stay as the inside! As an accomplished artist, Kathy's talents appear in every detail of La Casita, with its soft desert tones, eclectic worldly decor, and a casual, understated peaceful flow throughout the cottage. Large picture windows let in full light and full views of the high desert scenery and Coronado National Forest, which as her listing mentions is literally a five-minute walk from the driveway to an excellent trail head where I hiked twice a week! And before I forget, among the most memorable, "soul-restoring" elements of La Casita, without question, are the birds! Abundant hummingbirds, quail, jaybirds, cactus wren, finch, and cardinal, were my daily companions and have made La Casita their home! I also had occasional visits from a family of javelina, one coyote and a rare visit from a peregrine falcon, who perched for one morning on the porch! If you are one or two people in search of the most peaceful, private escape to UNPLUG (no TV but has excellent internet access) - La Casita is your answer and I can't recommend highly enough!

    Trisha2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • The Casita is in a wonderful private location. Kitchen is small, but serviceable. Many places to sit around the house. Very quiet and peaceful! We wish we could have stayed longer. Be sure to get groceries before you come! Nearest big grocery store is about 20 miles away.

    Abby2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is our favorite destination for a weekend escape from Tucson. It's typically about 10 degrees cooler, and the house offers a beautiful outdoor space with shaded seating under oaks, and you'll often see quail pecking under the manzanita. If you come during the colder months the sunroom has a beautiful view to the south and lots of cozy seating to choose from. This is a great choice for some peace and quiet - open the windows and enjoy the sounds of birds and crickets.

    David2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Charming space inside and out. Close to a trail head. Very natural setting with great light

    Robert2019-07-19T00:00:00Z
  • La Casita is everything I hoped for. Quiet, comfortable, surrounded by nature with birds, deer, javelina, and coyotes. There are many outdoor seating areas - in the shade of beautiful oak trees - to relax and enjoy the gorgeous views. Kathy's home is very clean and tidy, with lots of natural light from windows to observe birds. There is an efficient and complete kitchen, and a great shower/tub in the bathroom. I can't wait to return.

    Marlena2019-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Kathy’s La Casita was everything we hoped for and more! The home itself is a perfect sized space, with the most amazing view. We truly felt surrounded by nature, and we loved watching the birds feed in the morning. Trails to hike were a quick walk up the street as well! Kathy was an excellent host from beginning to end, making sure we had everything we needed and communicating every step of the way. We genuinely loved our stay and highly suggest staying at La Casita to see for yourself!

This charming cottage was built in the 1920's specifically for ranch guests and continues to this day. The room features artwork from local artists, a queen bed, two comfortable chairs, desk and dresser in the main room. Attached is a screened porch with two twin beds. Additional guests are welcome to stay here, but may find it quite chilly in November through March, but we do have a heater, extra blankets, and retractable flaps that can make is cozy in the cooler season.
Enchanting Ranch Guest House A fascinating and enduring part of Arizona history, our original 1880s cattle-ranch was transformed into one of southern Arizona’s earliest dude ranches and frequently hosted the legendary Wild West showman “Buffalo Bill” Cody. With its lovely, whitewashed-adobe buildings, our property offers comfortable lodgings, privacy, easy-going hospitality, and the charm of a historic ranch setting. A delightful breakfast at the Main Ranch House’s long, wooden kitchen table is available each morning to start your day. Bird-watching and wildlife viewing is an enjoyable pastime on our sprawling 50 acres. Enjoy contemporary art exhibited in the 6-acre outdoor Sculpture Park, a gift shop featuring locally-made crafts and fine art, as well as a gallery in the Adobe Barn with rotating shows. The "Guest House" cottage has one cozy bedroom with a queen-size bed as well as a sleeping porch with two twin beds (for use during warm weather). Additionally there is a large walk-in closet, a convenient refrigerator, and a clawfoot tub in the vintage bathroom. Our property boasts a rich bird fauna as well as being home to deer, javelina, raccoons, foxes, bobcats and more. As natural as our property is, we are just a five minute drive to several popular eating establishments: one Old West themed steakhouse, one authentic Mexican family restaurant, a cosmopolitan breakfast & lunch cafe/bistro, and two fine Italian restaurants. We are situated a mere 35 minutes from northwest Tucson and 5 minutes from Biosphere 2.
  • Amazing. You have to see it, to believe it.

    Susan2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • An eye popping display of sculpture over acres of land, unspoiled by noises and light pollution; with very comfortable accommodations in various ranch buildings. Unique, beautiful, and populated by very nice people.

    Caroline2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is our second time staying at the ranch and we loved it. The 1 room cottage has nice bathroom with a claw foot tub. The main room has a very comfortable queen size bed and there is a 3 season room with screen windows with 2 twin beds. There is also a convenient little pantry with a coffe pot, filter water dispenser and a mini fridge. It is in a great location outside Tucson. Sharon is a great host and is very carry and makes a great breakfast. We will definitely be back!

Charming home in secluded area. The lush surroundings leave you relaxed and rejuvenated. Large oak trees come right up to the top level porch and create a tree house feeling. Minutes away from BioSphere, hiking, Oracle zip line adventure, tasty restaurants, and a dedicated dark sky park! This home has so much charm and the pictures don't do it justice!
    No smoking inside house.

  • Private, open, lovely. All the dishes and cooking utensils you could want. Great deck, too. Quick responses, good communication from the owner.

  • We loved our stay at this super house. It met each of our five people's different needs just fine. The house was much larger than we anticipated with lots of privacy after a long day of visiting family in the area. Kristina's thoughtfulness was apparent in all the special touches. Her communication was top notch as well! It was ready to go and everything was explained clearly at the house. There was plenty of extra bedding, a wonderful, beautiful kitchen and everything we needed was right there. Would stay here again without a doubt. The area has so much to offer. Hope we go that way again!

The Cabin is a stand-alone building adjacent to the Main Ranch House. Historically was the home to a ranch hand in the cattle rustling days. Original artwork and artifacts fill the space and create a cozy, unpretentious vibe. You'll feel right at home in here. There's a large, sun-filled bathroom with a shower basin fashioned from an old water trough. All the features of the room are custom built with intriguing detail.
  • Incredible magical place! A must stay! The sculpture garden is amazing. Quiet and perfect for a vacation.

  • Sharon’s place was wonderful. Just what we needed and secluded from everything. There is a great eclectic sculpture garden that was entertaining. Sharon also cooked a lovely, unexpected, breakfast for guests. Would definitely stay again!

    Theresa2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • This is an absolutely wonderful ranch stay. And Sharon our hostess was the best. She saved us by accepting our request for one night on the same afternoon as our stay. The cabin was a true cowboy cabin, we loved it!

    Mary2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Sharon was a fabulous host! We loved every minute at the ranch, starting with the home cooked breakfasts and conversations with her and guests at the long kitchen table. Our cozy cabin was clean and had everything we needed. And the walking night time GLOW show of art work was one of a kind and AMAZING!!! Our stay far exceeded our expectations and we would LOVE to return. You will not regret a stay at the ranch because it’s one of a kind, and full of beauty and joy! ✨✨✨

    Barbara2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • Sharon's place is incredibly unique! She was a great host, communicated quickly, and got me in smoothly even though I booked around 5pm the night of. Thanks Sharon!

    Zak2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful host and such a unique property! I booked a small guest house for my husband and I for a quick one night stay. Sharon immediately upgraded us to the larger suite for no extra cost, which was such a great surprise! We got a quick tour of the grounds and surrounding sculpture garden, cool to see during the day but even cooler at night! Sharon turned on all the lights for us to explore in the evening, having it all to ourselves which was a great treat. In the morning we had an incredible egg and sausage breakfast made by Sharon, with fresh ingredients from her garden! Our stay was so short but much more than we were expecting and we are hoping to make it back in the Fall when there are more events on the property. 10/10 :)

  • This is a wonderful place to relax in complete comfort. The towels were the fluffiest I gave ever seen and fresh baked bread was available for breakfast each day. It is very spacious. We were a party of three but it would be perfect for two couples with plenty of privacy yet plenty of fathering space.

    Lawrence2019-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • We were visiting the area on business. We found the accommodation spacious and found the kitchen to be very well equipped. There was a good selection of DVDs to watch too. We struggled a bit with the wifi despite resetting the routers as instructed and we found the interior very dark during the day. Our host was very thoughtful - we were there on Halloween and came home to a jack o lantern in the garden and a delicious gift of cake left out for us too! Overall the accommodation was spacious and private and even though the hosts lived in the neighbouring house we were left to our own devices which suited us perfectly. Any quesiton I had was answered very quickly. Thank you Laura

    Kati2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • Laura's cabin is delightful! It's sparkling clean and she has added some wonderful personal touches to make you feel so "at home". When you go in the master bedroom you find a wonderfully comfortable queen bed covered in a beautiful quilt. Pull back the quilt and you find RealTree sheets! Black-out panels on the patio doors kept it nice and dark for sleeping in. Plenty of kitchen items to do whatever you need to do in there. We even had some muffins, homemade jelly, butter and fresh eggs - from her hens - left for us! It was like staying a your Aunt's house! There were lots of things to read about the area (past history and current info) and movies if you get bored. Laura's husband, Ron, has awesome knowledge of hunting in the area and pointed my husband in the right direction for his upcoming deer hunt. Thanks Laura and Ron! We will be back soon!

  • I came here with 4 other adults and this place was more than comfortable! It was very clean and spacious. It's in a very nice quiet area. There is a new grill to use outside in a patio area. My whole group had a blast. We went hunting while there and used Ron's services. My group was inexperienced and Ron walked us carefully through the steps. What a great experience. We plan to come back again after summer and we'll definitely be staying here. Thank you for all extra things you did.

The apartment is decorated with the love of horses in mind. Beds comfortable, plenty of towels. The staff is very accommodating! Yummy pizza just down the road & Biosphere 2 is 3 miles away. Many Thanks :)

  • This is a very quiet and cozy place especially for a few friends or family. A great getaway location with a strong western feel.

  • El Rancho is a little bit outside Tucson. But, it was easy to drive in and the place is nice, in the country. Good for family. Rustic and quaint.

  • If you want to stay somewhere in the middle of everything you come to Oracle to experience, stay here. Everything is close and easy to get to, but you’re away from the crowds. Lots of time to explore or sit out on the porch with coffee. I will come back here again.

    Susie2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay to enjoy friends and family. Less than 10 minute from Oracle State Park to see the sky full of stars and point out constellation and stars. Enjoy a cook on the grill and the cool breeze from the oak trees. Highly recommended.

Ideal for couples or families and friends wanting to spend time away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, this beautiful home can accommodate up to 10 people, but it is also very cozy for individuals or couples who want a quiet retreat. It has 3 double bedrooms (one king, one queen and one full) with ensuites + sofa beds for 4 people + a crib. Oracle is a convenient location for people to stay if they need to be close to Biosphere 2 or the two SaddleBrooke active adult communities.
Tasteful interiors, sweeping desert and mountain vistas, memorable sunsets and the changing colors of the day, as well as starry night skies, make just being there a pleasure. The many living areas and well distributed spaces make it cozy for small groups but also very suitable for large groups. It is great for family gatherings and reunions of friends because of the large expandable dining room table, which makes it also good for celebrating special occasions. Rates are for up to 4 people staying > for large groups inquire. It is a real home away from home with a good selection of books, DVDs and internet access. There are two living rooms and two TVs which can be useful if children are part of your party. As far as TV channels go we use DIRECTV and, if you do not want to miss your favorite game, you might like to know that we subscribe to the Sports channel, too. Artists, academics and nature lovers find it a beautiful and peaceful place to work in and relax. The moderate elevation (4,800 feet) avoids extremes of temperature all year round: summers are never too hot and winters are never really cold.
Casa Linda is located in a small community called Oracle, on the north slopes of the Santa Catalina mountains, not far from Saddlebrooke and very close to Biosphere II. Visitors will find interesting wildlife and birdwatching opportunities on the 3 acres of land that belong to 'Casa Linda' as well as the whole area that surrounds this beautiful place. The home also offers good access to numerous trails in wilderness settings which are ideal for hiking and mountain biking. One of these trails can be reached on foot directly from our backyard. There are interesting local shops and restaurants nearby as well as a post office and library. Oracle is well known for its art festivals and thriving art community.
  • Casa Linda is a beautiful home nestled in Oaks with sweeping views and privacy. The house is spacious, filled with light, and decorated with art of the local area. Big enough for families and extended parties, we thoroughly enjoyed our time here.

    Roberta2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • Casa Linda is a spacious home in a lovely setting, located conveniently close to the sights, sounds, and flavors of Oracle. All of the conveniences of home are at hand, making for a comfortable stay that feels like home. It was a treat to have a separate bathroom for each bedroom, and we enjoyed the outside areas as well as the lovely views from inside. Highly recommended ... wonderful for a group!

    Shell2019-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • This secluded house provides ample room to spread out. We woke up early, and saw a lot of wildlife from the balcony. Stars were bright and plentiful.

    Nicholas2019-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • great home in a quiet neighborhood! if you plan to visit Oracle I'd recommend this home.

  • Paola is a superb host!

    Matan2018-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, spacious home with tons of picturesque windows letting in natural light, views of mountains, wildlife, and incredible bird watching. Super clean, quite, and all the amenities for getting ready for a wedding weekend!! Great little cafe in town, though not much else. Would recommend bringing food in to cook in big kitchen. Bonus, the complete darkness at night in this community allowed for epic star gazing!!

    Shelby2018-05-13T00:00:00Z
  • Everything was just like in the pictures only better. We loved being able to see Four Peaks 85 miles away to the Northwest. There was a red headed hummingbird who spent his day guarding the feeder from other hummingbirds. Saw a Cardinal in the front yard and a parade of quail in the back yard. There are neighbors but we never knew it because they are over the hill. The house was clean and had directions posted where needed. Could not rate it better. We had a great time. Thanks Paola and Cathy

    Scott2018-05-06T00:00:00Z
  • Paola’s place was perfect for a staycation from Tucson with friends. The caretaker Nancy was incredibly welcoming. She left us with an entire book of possible outings but we like the place so much we didn’t want to leave. The house is incredibly spacious with a large great room, adjoining sun room, and three bedrooms located in opposite corners of the house. Myself and another guest had some work to do and had no problems finding quiet corners to do so. Most of our stay was spent playing board games on the porch, wining/dining by candlelight, or watching Stranger Things 2 (in honor of Halloween weekend) by the fire. We always bring some basic spices/oil (everyone in my group loves to cook) but that turned out to be completely unnecessary in this case as the kitchen was incredibly well stocked. We can’t wait to come back.

  • Meira’s home is quiet, clean, and out in the desert. Perfect for a getaway.

    Joshua2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • Another wonderful visit to Meira's very special Desert Spirit Hideaway! Her place is the very definition of cozy, quiet, rustic charm, doesn't get much more authentic, tucked away in the mesquite and palo verde trees at the base of the Catalina mountains. I prefer simple, comfy accommodations away from the bustle of the busy city, where i can immerse myself in the surroundings, and Meira's has it in spades -- but still within easy reach of good services and eateries, don't have to drive far. Lots of spirit to be found here, and Meira is a very special, most gracious host.

    Ed & Annie2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Hello. Lovely . The Desert Spirit Hideaway is incredibly quiet, peaceful and nurturing. As soon as you pull in the driveway, you will know what I mean . The setting in the mountains, along with her sweet horses & donkeys is wonderful enough , but be sure to peek outside at night and the stars are so spectacular!! The room is spotless , cozy and has everything you need. It’s close enough to the main road to Tucson that you can plan for anything , north or south or you can just read and take a walk!! . What can I say , I loved it and the energy and warm hospitality that your dear host , Meira offers will just add to that loveliness. Enjoy! It was perfect timing for me 💕 May the same experience happen for you as well . :)

  • Another reviewer wrote that this place has the best shower in Catalina and I have to concur. The water pressure was the best in this beautifully appointed guest suite and the WIFI worked perfectly! Thank you, Meira!

Built as an elegant suite in the 1920's for the previous owners, this large room features a king bed, sitting area, large bathroom, stone fireplace, refrigerator, coffee maker, and a 'critter cam' to view the wildlife drinking from a water trough just outside the suite. It also features a private patio with table and chairs. The room is decorated with vintage prints and artwork from local artists.
Enchanting Trowbridge Suite A fascinating and enduring part of Arizona history, our original 1880s cattle-ranch was transformed into one of southern Arizona's earliest dude ranches and frequently hosted legendary Wild West showman “Buffalo Bill" Cody. With its lovely, whitewashed-adobe buildings, our property offers comfortable lodgings, privacy, easy-going hospitality, and the charm of a historic ranch setting. A delightful breakfast at the Main Ranch House's long, wooden kitchen table is available each morning to start your day. Bird-watching and wildlife viewing is an enjoyable pastime on our sprawling 50 acres. Enjoy contemporary art exhibited on the 6-acre Sculpture Park, a gift shop featuring locally-made crafts and fine art, as well as a gallery located in the historic Adobe Barn. The "Trowbridge Suite" is one large, light-filled room with king bed, a massive stone fireplace for romantic ambiance, a sitting area with twin daybed, walk-in closet, coffee maker and refrigerator, and a sunny bathroom with tub and shower. The unit opens up onto a shaded wildlife-viewing path and your own semi-private patio. Our most recently-added amenity is a 'Critter-Cam' filming live-action of our diverse wildlife. Besides a rich bird fauna, our property is home to deer, javelina, raccoons, foxes, bobcats and more.
  • This place is a treasure! The suite is bigger than expexted, and we enjoyed the fireplace and huge soaking tub. Fresh flowers and gentle music awaited us as we walked in. Breakfast was yummy with great conversation. Arrive as soon as you can check in to enjoy the entire estate - there is much beauty to explore and many places to simply "be". This was a family trip but would love to come to reconnect just with my spouse.

Our visit was just a short overnight, however this place is worthy of a few nights stay to really enjoy! We highly recommend a stay here and look forward to another opportunity to come back and stay longer.

  • This experience was awesome! Beautiful room, grounds and hospitality! We took an evening to stay at Sharons place and wished we could have spent more time - breakfast was an added benefit... all home cooked with a wonderful setting inside the main home! If back in the area we will certainly be back!!!

  • Triangle L Ranch is now one of my favorite destinations in Arizona! A sparkling desert oasis, full of incredible art and glowing pathways through the dark. A feeling of Alice in Wonderland! The cottage was the perfect get a way for my girlfriend and our dog. Quaint and romantic. Breakfast every morning in the sunroom was the sweetest way to start the day. Jim was incredibly accommodating and made our breakfast without diary, and perfectly done! I would plan a whole trip to Arizona just to stay in the wonderful bed and breakfast again.

  • Everything was as we expected and it worked out well. While the road is a bit rough, I thought it easy enough and added to the experience. I'd definitely stay here again.

    Kyle2020-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • I really enjoyed my time and found it to be very peaceful, quiet and relaxing. I also enjoyed walking and jogging on the dirt roads and the natural beauty and remoteness. There was rain and water on the road which must be unusual but not unheard of this season in the desert. We had a sedan and as I learned to drive in Vermont and Idaho I was not shocked by the road conditions. I observed that at least 1/3 of neighbors and others on the dirt road had regular passenger sedans but I do not recommend taking a low rider or fancy sports car on any desert dirt road. I hope this is helpful to other potential guests.

    Hans2019-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • I thoroughly enjoyed my visit here at this Airbnb. I was staying in Tucson for the Gem show, but wanted to experience some nature as well; I also value privacy and prefer Airbnbs that are not a shared rooms in house etc. The space was cheerful with a comfortable bed, television, and a spacious hot shower with great flooring detail. Joe and Pam are lovely, approachable, and were generous to help me with recommendations and some help in working out some travel changes/ details etc. The area is quiet, scenic, has wildlife and even the occasional river.

Travel back in time as you walk into this 3-bedroom cottage on the hill overlooking the ranch. The spacious porch offers great views of the oak-studded hills of Oracle at the base of the Santa Catalina Mountains. There's plenty of seating in the tastefully decorated living room. Either cosy up to the fireplace on chilly, star-filled evenings, or open the windows and door to let the cool, summer evening breezes waft over you. The Hill House is cooled by an evaporative cooler.

  • Great stay and recommended. As advertised no negative surprises only positive ones. This is the house on the hill but it’s right in the action. Next to the big house where Sharon makes a delicious breakfast and the cool and interesting sculpture garden that goes on and on with the added touch of a magical glow at night. The rooms were clean and comfortable, kitchen nice and useful. Living room great to sit with the family to read and cozy up by the fire/gas stove. We came on an unusually cold time but still stayed comfortable.

    Jim2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Sharon’s spot is beautiful and serene. The night sky in the desert was everything we had hoped for. There were fun and funky touches all over the home - like the record player! The morning view from the porch is amazing. 🌟

  • I reserved this cottage to be closer to a birthday party I was going to in town. I did not believe it to be anything super special when I booked it, just something close so I didn't have to drive far. I was seriously mistaken. This a beautiful ranch with lots of other little cottages. It has an art gallery on-site along with sculptures and a beautiful art trail. I couldn't believe there was a place this beautiful and serene in Arizona. I will definitely be back for a little stay-cation!

Kitchenette and grill, high quality queen bed and linens, covered front porch with fenced private courtyard. Next to the main house but completely private!
Rural mountain community with groceries, resale and restaurants within a 10 min drive. 15 min drive to Catalina State Park and large shopping mall. 20 min to Biosphere II and zip lining. 40 mins to downtown Tucson where there is a plethora of great restaurants and entertainment!
  • We had a fabulous stay. Diane made our visit extra delightful. There were snacks, coffee with cream, and a bar of Cadbury chocolate. The space is small, but well thought out with plenty of storage. One thing I especially appreciated was the mattress. My husband and I both woke up refreshed from a good night of sleep on a quality bed. The view is fabulous especially at sunset. The Catalinas are magical with quite a pallet of color and you can enjoy it from the patio in front of the home. I highly recommend Diane and Jeff's place.

    Linda2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Captivatingly peaceful, beautiful and serene. We'll be back!

    Gail2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Diane and Jeff were perfectly attentive and greeted us when we arrived. Communication was easy and timely. The place was very clean and perfect for two people. We would definitely stay again when we are in the area. Absolutely love this space! And the view is pretty incredible too.

    Brenda2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Diane and Jeff’s place is the cutest and coziest! I was in town for a training and their place was the perfect place to rest and reset after long days of learning. Close to hiking and a market, wonderful neighborhood that is quiet and spacious. I loved being tucked in the foothills. Stay with Diane and Jeff when you’re in Tucson. You won’t be disappointed!

    Renee2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice, clean tiny house with a great view of the mountains. One room plus a bathroom but well appointed and functional with two burner range, microwave and refrigerator. Will definitely stay here again.

    Paul2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We were looking for a place that could provide some scenery, peace and quiet, and sun, but not be too far from activities. This retreat home was perfect! We spent most mornings outside on the front “porch” soaking up the warmth and sunshine, while listening to the birds / seeing wildlife and enjoying a gorgeous/stunning view of the mountains. The location was rural, but close enough to major roads that go just about everywhere in Tucson. A grocery store, gas station, state park, and restaurants, laundry, and churches are within 2-4 miles of the retreat home. This was our first airbnb experience. Diane and Jeff are “super hosts” indeed. They were very responsive to any questions we had and offered several suggestions on what to do in the area. As a happy coincidence, Diane and Jeff told us about the annual HUGE Gem, Mineral, Fossil (and Jewelry) Showcase that was happening throughout the Tucson area during our time there. We’d love to come again in the spring sometime in the future when the desert plants are blooming.

    Denise2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • The adorable little guest house is nice in itself - and the views, outdoor seating areas, and rural setting make it feel much bigger! The host communicated well beforehand, asked what we might need, and met us in person upon arrival. Even though we're local to nearby Tucson, it was nice to get a tip on a hike we hadn't heard of. I recommend this getaway for guests from near or far.

    Anna2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Diane and Jeff’s place is a welcoming, quiet, and charming place to unwind. It is conveniently close to the Catalina State Park, with a glorious view of the mountains. We enjoyed some great hiking. The little cabin is nestled next to Diane and Jeff’s home, so it feels very safe, yet we had total privacy. We enjoyed briefly meeting Jeff, their three lovely horses, and their four sociable dogs. Most of all, Diane earned the title “super host”; she was quick to respond clearly, and provided a clean, well thought out facility that exactly met our needs and wants. There is one room with a comfortable bed, table with two chairs, roomy armoire, bench, and kitchenette with mini fridge, two burner cooktop, microwave, and all the necessities (plus some bonuses). The bathroom has a shower. The water was hot; tank is small but reheats fast. There is also a comfortable outdoor covered sitting area with BBQ and sink. This yurt is situated on the top of a hill overlooking the beautiful Catalina Mountains. The space is the 24 ft yurt AND the RV Casita. Both dwellings have heat and chilly AC . The full bathroom is in the RV as is the full kitchen. The Yurt has open living space including a kitchen but no bathroom. This is why the whole space is rented if the yurt is to be included. Otherwise the RV can be rented by itself. Abundant Star gazing, birds and laid back atmosphere is what you will find here.
Catalina is a small town located 20 miles north of Tucson. It is also 10 miles from the Catalina State Park which offers wonderful hiking trails and other events such as outdoor music, desert animal exhibits, and telescope star gazing. This area is also haven to bike riders (road or off road). Restaurants, shopping centers, and movie theaters are 10 minutes away. The airbnb is situated on 2 acres. Neighbors own goats and chickens and sheep and donkeys and when mixed in with a wide variety of birds and howling coyotes it makes for a wonderful concert. Star gazing is superb. Biosphere 2 is just up the road as well as the unique artist town of Oracle. GLOW happens in September and October if you love a night time glowing art party in Oracle at the Triangle L Ranch. Come stay in a yurt or a sweet RV and experience glamping at its best.
  • Terrific fun stay in the yurt and RV. We loved having a fire and watching the sunset and the moon rise. We would live to come back again.

    Caroline2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • If you've never stayed in a yurt before, I highly recommend it! The outdoor space was lovely and Lynn went above and beyond to make sure we had firewood and lighting. A perfect escape from the city!

    Sierra2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying in the yurt! Lynn has a wonderful and stunning space in the desert with numerous places to sit, relax, and take in the beauty of the Santa Catalina Mountains. Birds, coyotes, rabbits, mountainous desert landscapes, and quiet solitude. We're coming back!

    Joshua2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous airbnb with beautiful views!! So much attention put into every little detail. Lynn was a great host and did a great job communicating with us!

    Sarah2019-09-24T00:00:00Z
  • Fun place with lots of little touches. Would be great for a family trip, something different. Listening to the birds was fun

  • Good location and a unique experience for a night out of town.

    Jacob2019-07-14T00:00:00Z
  • There should be more AirBnB’s like Lynn’s! We had the most wonderful retreat with our two girls, and can’t wait to go back. Our favorite part? Eating supper outside as the moon rose over the Catalina peaks, then sitting by the fire as darkness fell and my daughter played the guitar (that she found in the yurt), leading us all in song late into the night. Such a gift to have the time, space, and encouragement to be together, and a blessing to leave bigger than when we arrived.

    Megan2019-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Lynn place was a great desert getaway. She has great hospitality, communication, and willingness to serve her guests. Her place has all kinds of things to do and isn’t too far away from Tucson. The view is priceless and the Yurt is very quaint. Highly recommend!

This quiet little oasis is 23 miles from downtown Tucson, 32 miles from the Tucson Airport and features beautiful views of the Catalina Mountains. It has all the amenities of a tiny house. Also featured is a spacious picnic and barbecue area.
This Tiny House has a gorgeous view of the Catalina Mountains. It is easily accessible about one hour drive from the Tucson airport. Out door activities range from quiet R and R to hiking, mountain biking or road cycling. The kitchen is stocked with the basic cooking items along with essential condiments including coffee, tea and first mornings light breakfast foods. Bedding and towels are included.
The neighborhood is quiet, some distance from the busy road, with the sounds of wildlife including a variety of desert birds, coyotes and the occasional spade foot toad if its monsoon season. Relaxing in the hammock during sunset offers majestic pink glows on the mountains. Walking, Bicycling or Jogging are easy activities right out the door.
  • Lynn has a peaceful spot, well maintained vintage RV, fully stocked utensils and necessities for your stay, and great instructions. I only stayed one night, but this would be a great place to enjoy longer. I have no complaints. Enjoyed it!

    Kara2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is one of the best spots in Arizona to watch the sunset and the desert come alive. Very nice and welcoming hosts, especially their sweet dog, Yampa! If you need a getaway from the city, this is the place to go🥰

    Lorena2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lynn's place is perfect for that 'camper in you' style stay. Felt like we were staying in the wilderness, but just 10 min from the grocery store, restaurants and off road activities. Great value for money, yet stylish and eclectic surroundings. Would stay there again!

    Kathleen2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • A perch among perches! First, I was surprised to find a modest, hilly outcropping amid the sprawl that has become so familiar as I travel around the Arizona burbs. Then, I was tickled to perceive that the Catalina Casita, which I approached up small slope of a driveway, puts you at eye level with the tops of the surrounding cactus. It’s an eye-to-bird’s eye view! The birds are plentiful, diverse and busy - a playful whirl of activity, rounding out and winding down with the owls at night. The camper was plenty cozy while it rocked with a storm that dropped snow on the nearby mountaintops, warmed by thoughful appointments that I suspect are accumulations of past explorations from when this rig was still in motion. Now parked, but somehow still participating, this perch is a perfect place to find new perspectives.

  • Very nice location a block from the Cookie Store and general store. Everything within walking distance, including the Sawmill restaurant. You can access wifi at the Sawmill. Hours at the stores and restaurants are brief so plan accordingly. Don't forget to take a ride up the ski lift. Ski lift does not open at 900AM as indicated on their website, probably does during the winter. Lots of puzzles and DVD's to play. Trails within walking distance. The home includes coffee maker, pots, pans, etc, etc. Covered porch to observe the rain. Everything you need for your stay is included.

  • This cabin exceeded all of our expectations. The interior was so spacious, warm, and cozy and very well-appointed with anything and everything you could possibly need during your stay. It ended up being the perfect place to escape for a weekend and hang out with friends.

  • Jeri’s home is the sweet mountain getaway you’ve been looking for. While the main benefit of the home is being just a minute walk from the delicious Cookie Cabin - this home/cabin was perfect for a weekend getaway. If you are looking for lots of amenities, tech, or modern housing look elsewhere! This home however is perfect for taking time away from our busy day-to-day life. The interior is decorated incredibly cozy and warm, and from the moment we arrived we felt right at home. There is a tv and some dvds, however we spent most of our time playing with the countless puzzles, cards, and board games that the home is stocked with! There is a basic kitchen with a fridge, stove, microwave and coffee maker - so it’s perfect for making a simple dinner or breakfast. The porch sits facing the hills of Mt.Lemmon, and lots of birds and critters will entertain you sitting on the patio or porch swing. Jeri also provides helpful guides to flowers, bugs, birds, and plants - so definitely take time to walk around outside and familiarize yourself with nature! She also was kind enough to suggest a few hikes for us based on our skill level. The sleeping areas were very cozy, and there are a lot of blankets and quilts around to drape yourself in! We did find that a few bugs got inside the house, even with the doors closed, but that of course was to be expected staying up on Mt. Lemmon! One did scare me on a midnight bathroom break, but my Pacific Northwest self felt like I was back home! We definitely plan to make a return trip sometime and explore some more trails!

    Erika2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Mt. Lemmon is a beautiful location and you will enjoy your stay at Jeri's cabin.

This quiet desert getaway is perfect for outdoor lovers. Located 23 miles from downtown Tucson, it features a beautiful view of the Catalina Mountains and proximity to miles of world-class mountain bike and hiking trails, and renown bird-watching areas. Located in a semi-rural spot just off of Oracle road (the main artery between Tucson and Catalina), it has plenty of shopping and restaurants within easy driving distances.
This guest suite is one-half of a duplex-type house with its own private, separate entrances. There are two bedrooms, each with its own entrance to a large covered outdoor deck with a view of the Catalina mountain range. The kitchenette has its own entrance, a small refrigerator, convection oven, hot-plate, coffee maker, electric kettle, and washer/dryer unit. It is stocked with basic cooking gear, coffee, tea, and spices.
Our street dead ends about a half a mile from us, so it’s fairly quiet. Homes in the neighborhood are on 1-to-2-acre parcels and several neighbors keep chickens, horses, and goats. You’ll often see neighbors walking with or without dogs in the early mornings and evenings, so please respect the 5-10 miles per hour speed limit on the dirt road. We have an arroyo that bisects the property and serves as a thoroughfare for the local wildlife: coyotes, javelinas (peccaries, or wild pigs), bobcats, and raccoons. We have a strict policy of not feeding anything but birds, so please take care not to attract wild mammals by leaving food out, and enjoy all wildlife from a safe distance.
  • This is a delightful little spot! Pleasant and peaceful with fun decor and nice touches throughout. We enjoyed being tucked away in the desert, and watching the birds in the feeders around the house and off the back deck. The location is great for hiking in the nearby Santa Catalina mountains or visits into Tucson. Murphy and Jim were lovely to work with and we really enjoyed our stay! Catalina Craft Pizza which is right in the neighborhood is highly recommended for a fun place for dinner and music.

    Christine2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Murphy and her husband Jim are so personable and provide such a inviting space. Great amenities and gorgeous Mountain views from the back deck. Murphy always responded to all my questions within an hour and was so kind helping to orient us to getting settled. Their hospitality and special touches of home are the reason why I choose AirBNBs over chain hotels.

    Mary Ann2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • This place is awesome! Murphy and Jim are very attentive hosts. The home is comfortable, clean, very well equipped, and we enjoyed the backyard life. Even got to see a hummingbird!

  • I had a very peaceful stay in this environmentally conscious and beautifully appointed airbnb, showcasing the Arizona high desert at its finest.

    Ryan2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • The place is clean, clean, clean and the hosts are lovely helpful people. I really enjoyed walking around their yard and looking at all the beautiful plants and landscaping. They had great recommendations for local food. If I were returning to the Tucson area I would not hesitate to re-book the B&B.

    Sharon2019-07-26T00:00:00Z
  • My wife and I spent three nights at Murphy's place while we were exploring the area for a home to buy. This was at a time when the temperatures exceeded a 100 degrees every day. I missed the fact this unit did not have air conditioning but was cooled with a water evaporator or aka: "swamp cooler". This system cooled the entire unit equally as good, if not better, than an air conditioning unit. Murphy has thought of everything from having chocolate treats and all sorts of tasty teas and coffee and a pitcher of cold water in the frig. Even the bathroom is stock with little extra soaps and toiletries that you may have forgotten to pack. This is a place I will come back to. It is very quiet both during the day and night. While here we saw a lot of rabbits and all sorts of birds and even a few lizards of some kind.

Our place is a quiet, remote setting up against the Catalina Mountains. You will have 2 miles of well maintained gravel/dirt road when you get into our small neighborhood. Well worth the trek! Our casita (little house) is spacious and sweet. We have a fully stocked kitchen, comfortable living room, dining area, study area, full tub and shower, and two lovely decks for outside dining. Gorgeous views, breathtaking sunsets! Great hiking, mountain biking, and bird watching right out the back door!
We have an 850 sq ft little house (casita) with private parking a full kitchen, dining area, roomy living room area, computer desk , WiFi, one bedroom, one bath, 2 decks with great views and lots of trees, peace and quiet. You will feel right at home as soon as you walk in and the views will take your breath away! My 2 horses will greet you in the morning and they love carrots!
Friendly, warm neighborhood. Everyone hikes or bikes or rides horses. There are no street lights so star watching is incredible!!! Very quiet ... save the owls in the tree some nights!
  • Great place! Quiet, with stunning views and a relaxing atmosphere. Our hosts were wonderful. Highly recommended, will stay here again whenever we are in the Tucson area.

  • This is a charming little house with lovely furnishings. Russ was a welcoming host. Perfect for unplugging. The trails were right out the back door. Catalina State Park was close by for birding and hiking. This is perfect for an outdoor enthusiast. As a tourist looking for a quiet place to end our day, we had to do a lot of driving, and the spotty internet/WiFi made it difficult to check availability on certain sites.

We are located in the gorgeous Sutherland Valley on the west side of the Catalina Mountains. We are down a normal car accessible dirt road (1.5 miles) and 3 miles from a shopping center & restaurants. We are 7 miles from Catalina State Park (great hiking), 15 miles from Biosphere 2 (google), and 21 miles from downtown Tucson. The famous Fifty Year Mountain Bike Trail is within walking distance. We are in a very relaxing natural environment. We have traveled to 95 countries and welcome everyone!
The guest room has over 750 interesting books available for guests to read, plus artifacts from various foreign trips to view. The bathroom is with toilet, sink and shower. Google Home, radio, CD player, WiFi, ice chest, coffee/tea maker all available. No place in the Tucson area can beat the views!
We are one of only 43 homes in the 10,000 acre Sutherland Valley, so you really feel in Nature! Cows wander the valley and you can hear coyotes at night. We have a lot of birds. Mesquite trees dominate. Neighbors wave and are friendly.

The hosts are great and are every bit as interesting as the many cool things in their guest house. We would stay here again and recommend it to others who are of an adventurous spirit!

  • Please copy what I just wrote. This is a charming cabin like setting in a beautiful, quiet place with views of the Catalinas in your back yard, birds, and complete quiet. Healing.

  • This casita was a lovely place to stay while visiting the Tucson area. The Murphy Bed was firm and comfortable. It's an easy to access location with a parking space in the driveway. A small kitchenette with mini-fridge and freezer was great for storing and snacking on leftovers. Coffee and coffeemaker were provided, as well as some fresh fruit. Location is close to BioSphere 2, which was a perk for us!

This is a newly remodeled studio apartment, about 300 sq feet, and has everything you need to enjoy your stay near the Catalina mountains. Kitchenette, BBQ grill with burner, gas fire pit, lots of seating on the wrap around porch, linens, towels. mini split for AC/heat, and if something is missing please ask! The main house is on the other end of the property. We will meet you at the gate when you arrive or make arrangements if it is late for entrance with a code. Rusted Fence Ranch is a little hidden oasis in a small country neighborhood not far from Catalina State Park and the National Forest with a well developed trail network for hiking, biking and walking. We are off the main road just a bit and completely fenced which provides plenty of privacy. The little ranch is open, spacious, private, quiet and has a great view of the beautiful Catalina Mountains. However, we are just minutes away from all the amenities one may need; grocery store, restaurants, Starbucks, Walmart, hiking, biking, etc. You can even access hiking trails right at the end of the block. Our neighborhood is full of wonderful warm friendly folks and we often have a ranch pot luck and/or campfire which you would be very welcome to join
  • Very quiet area, perfect for a couple wanting to get away for a while. Carrie was great and a wonderful host that was full of local suggestions on where to eat or things to do.

  • Friendly service, great location, and outstanding views for a quiet get away.

  • We loved staying at the Ranch while we were in town! Clean linens, coffee pot & Keurig for both of our coffee preferences, large variety of tea & some snacks as well. Bathroom was clean, and we loved the southwest flare in every corner of the room. The blankets add a nice touch when you want to hang out on the patio & star gaze! Lovely experience here, 10/10 would recommend!

  • Wonderful place about 25 min drive into Tucson. Great location, 100% recommended. Beautiful setting, friendly people. Slow WiFi, tough if you want to watch TV. But setting so awesome you won’t miss It!

    Erin2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • We were pleasantly surprised with this unique location. The studio was very clean, and Carrie left some thoughtful little touches to welcome us. The horses right outside our door added the perfect backdrop to the amazing views of the mountains. Thanks so much Carrie! We hope to be back!

  • If you want to get out of the city for a few days for peace and relaxing time, then this place is for you! my husband and i wanted to get away from the city for the weekend and to take some time to relax and we are glad to have found this place. It was quiet and we enjoyed watching the horses play right outside the studio. My husband loves to stargaze and he definitely enjoyed sitting outside at night. I have a very high stress state job and staying here for 2 nights helped me take some time off from my cases. I've started to recommend this place to my co-workers as well! Carrie is so welcoming and had invited us to the campfire. we met the other guests and they were welcoming as well! We cant wait to come back in the future!

  • A beautiful setting to experience birding and nature, with the hosts sharing their knowledge of birds, wildlife, and the natural landscape.

    Beth2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • They were both friendly and knowledge. It felt peaceful and slow paced, simply relaxing.

    Jami2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • WOW is hosted by a lovely and kind couple. They have extensive knowledge about the landscape and wildlife around their home, and they are clearly passionate about the animals that share their land. We were lucky enough to see many species in our short time there. They have a beautiful deck for relaxing and watching the hummingbirds, and the hiking from their property was beautiful. I can only imaging how incredible it must be in the spring! CJ also makes the BEST berry muffins on the planet. If you are a hiker/cyclist, I would stay at least 2 nights to explore to trails. If you have T-Mobile, plan on contacting the hosts a few minutes before you arrive. No T-Mobile signal at their house (they have WiFi).

  • What an oasis! We felt fortunate to have found this eden just north of metropolitan Tucson. Christopher and his wife went above and beyond from their welcoming and gracious introduction to their home to the thoughtful and DELICIOUS breakfast items they had for us. Warm home made muffins, home made yogurt, fruit, a smorgasbord of cereals, coffee & tea. An absolute treat! Our room was clean and relaxing with the soft, soothing sound of the fountain just outaide to lull us to sleep in the perfect bed! The property was bursting with animal life and Christopher was so kind in sharing this magical space with us. We saw so many different birds, a Bobcat that strolled by the indoor viewing area, Harris's hawks, squirrels and gophers and the entire time he shared his wealth of knowledge on each creature as they revealed themselves to us during the tour of the property. Absolutely extraordinary! Disappointed we only booked for one night. This experience and the exemplary stewards of the sanctuary have gifted us with one of the best highlights of our trip to Arizona. We will definitely be back!

  • This is truly an amazing experience. "WOWArizona" does not actually do it justice. Depending on your arrival time, you will either immediately see just how amazing it is, or you will understand what 'dark sky' is all about. In both cases you will not be disappointed. Christopher, who you will end up calling CJ and Mary Ellen, who you will call, well, Mary Ellen, are truly great hosts. The morning breakfast is highlighted by homemade muffins of a new variety each day, but be sure to sample the homemade yogurt and ask for some chocolate for your coffee (or just straight off the spoon). Activity at WOW starts early - the early bird here really does get the worm, or whatever CJ is offering up to the incredible menagerie of bird life gathering just outside the doors. Birds from the smallest hummingbird to the speedy Roadrunner to the family of Harris's Hawks are all on display and enjoy the same great hospitality as the humans. All topped off by a visit from the local Javelina tribe - yeah a little stinky maybe, but very cute and all part of the local experience. Enjoy the breakfast and the 'bird TV' and then head out onto the trails. Whether hiking or biking, the trails and the views are breathtaking. Follow the advice you're given and you will have a most memorable experience. Pretend you know better, and you could have a much different memorable experience - heed your hosts, they are there to ensure you have the best stay ever. I can't say enough about our time in Tucson, the hosts here are incredibly welcoming and kind, great conversation, and offer a wealth of local knowledge. We will definitely be returning.

  • Beautiful location! A bird watchers dream! The hosts were so thoughtful and attentive. They feed us a beautiful homemade breakfast with coffees and teas to suite all of our liking! We highly recommend this host. It was a total pleasure.

    Cheryl2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful setting, gracious hosts, and TONS of animals everywhere. First day we saw a roadrunner and a coyote, and of course Saguaro cacti to complete the scene. Mary Ellen treated us to a nice long guided hike into the Catalina mountains which are literally right out the back door. A great place to enjoy nature and good company.

    David2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • This is a beautiful sanctuary full of local plant and animal life. You are treated more like family than a guest. Sip tea while watching wildlife chatter around you or cozy up next to the outdoor fireplace under the undeterred stars. Wake up to a colorful dish of fruits and homemade tasty treats and follow it with a quiet walk to a small secluded pond. This gem of a place will steal your heart!

  • The view can only be topped by a few places in Arizona. When you open the bedroom doors on the 2nd story to start your day, your breath is taken away by the sunrise coming over the distant mountains. Perfect location for a quiet retreat with enough entertainment on site if you get a little restless. Cabin's style and decor is unique and well placed. Will be staying there again and can't recomend enough!!
