Places to stay in New York
This is a room share opportunity in literally the best area in Brooklyn!! A bit about the room: Chest drawer and a bed with extra storage underneath. Tons of natural sun light We have a Pitbull he is a puppy and suuuuper friendly. 10 months he is adorable and he gets really excited about people coming over but If you don’t like dogs, this is not the place for you. Air conditioner and heat in the room Close access to the bathroom
Only cool people live there 💜🤗
Right near tons of nice restaurants, shops, grocery stores, bars and much more, the waterfront, it is located in the heart of williamsburg! You definitely should visit Domino's Park Two blocks away from the L train “Bedford ave”
  • Helen is sweet and helpful! Fantastic location! Can't complain!

    Cori2019-08-27T00:00:00Z
  • Helen and her family were so kind and friendly, and Bufo the dog was adorable! The room is quite spacious for one person, with nice touches like a humidifier (which was very helpful for me) and a an area to hang clothes and store shoes, as well as a full-length mirror. The location of Helen's place is great, as Williamsburg has a lot to offer within walking distance, and is only a quick metro ride away from Manhattan (with a metro stop nearby). The value for money of the stay is amazing; I am very glad I was able to book a stay with Helen and would gladly do so again :)

  • Clean and comfortable room in an amazing location. Check-in was seamless, even if I ended up making some last minute changes with my arrival time.

    Ursula2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • Location is perfect and Helen was very helpful in checking me in and communicating. It’s not really a bed and breakfast - just a small apartment which you have a room in. The room can get quite draughty when it gets cold at night. Also the kitchen shares a wall with the room so don’t plan to have a sleep in if someone is making breakfast. But for the location it is great value for money.

    James2019-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • This place is 600 feet far from Bedford subway station. If you have a heavy bag to carry, not recommendation because the room is on the 3rd floor must take a stair that narrow and high to carry up to the 3rd floor. No breakfast as host claim from Airbnb. Room are cold the central heat not working at night and not have other heater enough. Not recommendation.

    Pilaipark2019-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • The room is very nice and clean. The area is great. Close to the East River and in a very hip area.

    Markus2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • everything was alright, Helen is really nice and friendly. She replies quite fast and has a sweet dog. Room has AC and is comfortable. For that price you can’t beat that.

Private room in a charming Soho apartment. Close to Washington Sq park, Greenwich Village, East Village and Chinatown. Perfect for shopping and dining within walking distance. Easy access to all major subway lines.
Full Size organic Keetsa bed in a beautiful exposed brick wall room with two windows facing 6Th Ave. Internet/Wifi. Sheets and towels, shampoo/conditioner and soap provided. This is a 5Th Floor walk-up (4 flights of stairs). Great neighborhood with plenty of cute restaurants, shops and cafe's. Close to the Highline, Hudson River Walks and Washington Sq Park. Very close to the C and E train. R, N, 1 and 6 are a few blocks away.
I love living in Soho. It is a convenient location and I can walk and/or take the subway and get to where I want to go quickly.
  • Eva is a wonderful host who ensured that I had an enjoyable couple of days in NYC. The location is right in the heart of the action in Lower Manhattan so super easy to get round and handy for the buzzy nightlife around Greenwich Village. I’d have no hesitation in recommending Eva’s apartment though worth noting that it is located up five storeys (no lift) so perhaps a struggle if you’re carrying heavy luggage. Given the location it’s also worth packing a pair of earplugs unless you like the natural alarm call of New York traffic! ;-)

  • Small ap with large hospitality

    Johan2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • The listing was accurate. It was such a great bohemian, relaxed home. Great 5 floor walk up. Eva is amazing!! Showed me around the area and was such a kind host. This was my first Airbnb experience and I'll definitely do it again. Thank you for your hospitality, Eva.

    Karen2015-06-27T00:00:00Z
  • Eva is awesomeand friendly, her hospitality really impressed me. She took us around at the first night and we really enjoyed the time we spent with her. Be honest, her apartment is smaller than I thought, the shower room is in the kitchen, but it is not a big deal. The bed is pretty small to fit two people, but it is really soft and comfortable. Eva is very thoughtful that I did not hear anything even though Eva has to go through our bedroom for restroom. However I won't recommand you if you are a light sleeper. The heater and refrigerator are really NOISY. We could not fall asleep in the night even with earplugs. But still, Eva is very nice and the location is great. There are a lot of famous, tasty, affortable resturants around.

    Hera2016-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Location is one of the best having stayed in the perimeter of the lower east/village on frequent trip to NYC. 24hr pharmacy and subway are right across the street. Eva is such a genuine host. Didn’t feel like I was a stranger staying at hers.

    Kezia2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • **Not accurate description!** Beautiful space, but without any privacy! Eva's description notes that there are some shared areas, and says nothing more. I happened to stumble upon a more descriptive detail in another guests' description - the shower was in the kitchen, which, ok fine. However, it was a great surprise to find that toilet was on the other side of Eva's bedroom. Tiptoeing through the private bedroom of a host I've just met to use the toilet while she slept is NOT my idea a comfortable and fairly pricy room I rented. I would not have signed up for this space had this been made clear. Additionally, there is no sink in the toilet, there is only the kitchen sink. The bedrooms also do not have doors, there are only large curtains hanging to divide the space. When eve shut her bedroom curtain at night, you have to pass through her private area to enter the toilet. Also, don't forget that this space is Vegan! I am not the most private person, and am very easy going, but this was too much for me. It is evident that Eva is a very accommodating host, and if you are comfortable with these arrangements, its a lovely space and incredible location.

    Jenny2019-05-21T00:00:00Z
  • Eva was so nice and helpful.! I really felt like home. So I definitely found my place to stay for future travels to NY. Highly recommendable!

    Florian2018-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Eva is a very nice host. She shared beverages with me everyday and gave very useful advice on transportation. The location is the best, close to everywhere, but the apartment itself is on the fifth floor wich may be a problem if you have heavy luggage.

Ideal for couples and solo travelers, private bedroom w/ queen-size bed (with the possibility of having an extra guest on an air mattress) within a 2-bedrooms apartment in the vibrant neighborhood of Washington Heights, Manhattan. Only 1 block away from the 175th st A train that runs straight to the JFK Airport and along the west part of Manhattan (15 min to Central Park, 20 min to Times Square!!!).
The apartment is huge and super bright, with a large living area, modern kitchen and bathroom, in a really quite area close to the Hudson river, the George Washington bridge, and the J Hood Wright Park. The room is equipped with a queen size bed, desk, dresser, closet, AC window unit and internet flat screen TV. Living room with couch, dining table, and breakfast corner. Kitchen is equipped with microwave and coffee machines for your use. Full bath. Laundry and elevator in the building.
The neighborhood has a lot to offer including a gorgeous park, lots restaurants, bars, banks and parks. Seven minute walk to Columbia Presbyterian Hospital. Great retreat to get a solid night's rest for med students or friends/family visiting someone in the hospital. There are two gyms within a block away of the apartment. Lots of grocery stores and nearby shopping.
  • Carlos and Valentina were in communication with me from the start to end of my trip, there were awesome and the service you get is far better than what you paid (a 5 star Service), They are so supportive and kind. They even give you hot breakfast and help you with locations. Carlos helped me saved over $200 for commuting by showing me how to use the subway instead of using Uber or Lyft am so grateful and I will stay with them over and over again, they’re like family. The house is close to all kind of shops and transport different types of restaurants around, pubs and shopping centers. Lovely place, beautiful Mexican folks around and safe location and neighborhood.

    Eric2019-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • I had a fantastic experience visiting Valentina's apartment. It is situated near the subway station which gives you access to the entire city. There is an elevator in the subway station and in her building which is great when you travel with heavy luggage! The room is clean, very spacious and has excellent natural light. There is a large comfortable bed, a dresser for your clothes and a desk with a mirror which is perfect for putting on make-up. The bathroom is directly across the from the bedroom. When I arrived it began to rain and unfortunately, I did not pack an umbrella. Thankfully, I was offered the use of one of the several umbrellas Valentina and Carlo had to choose from. It was so much appreciated! In the mornings, there is a continental breakfast which is a wonderful bonus. The neighborhood is quiet and I felt safe walking alone late at night/early morning. Overall, I wholeheartedly recommend this apartment to anyone coming to New York City. Thank you so much Carlo for your warm hospitality and I hope to meet Valentina on a future visit!

  • The place is very nice, confortable and quiet. We appreciated the point of view on Washington bridge. The appartement is 3 min walk of the subway

    Belanie2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Valentine and Carlo provided a comfortable space that pretty much mirrors description of extra large room. I spent a week with no issues. Convenient location to metro and Manhattan. As much privacy as you want with availability if questions.

Small room in huge apartment in the heart of the East Village.
Great location, big common room, cozy bedroom. Quiet apartment.
Near restaurants pubs and downtown arts. Near union square and shopping. Central location. Grocery nearby, great kitchen. Laundry across the street. Pub in the building has a fireplace, good eats and a cheap happy hour. Antique / inde movie theater next door. Live music nearby.
  • If you are only looking for a place to crush, and to sleep in a central location, this place is fine. However, if you have requirements on cleanness and hygiene, it is suggested to find an alternative. You might pay more, but more comfortable. It is a small room with no window, and the A/C is aged and the filter might not have been changed for a while. You pay what you get. The price is very cheap in east village, but you just need to trade off what you need.

    Ethan2019-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • good location, helpful host, not clean and room was not a real bedroom

    Astrid2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • The purpose of my stay was to interview at NYU, so the location was good. However, the bedroom was extremely small, it almost seems like it was previously a closet. There are holes in the wall that are not shown in pictures because it is covered by artwork. When I used the bathtub, the drain was clogged by a ball of hair, and when the water pooled in the bathtub, a bug was floating at the top. The only place that is air conditioned is in the bedroom, no where else. No where to hang professional clothes. No clothes hanger. I brought a suit, so it would have been nice to hang it up. Luckily, they had an iron. The host was very prompt and responsive, and allowed me to check in before the official check in time. Got used to everything by the second day, but would not recommend to a friend.

    Philip2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Nancy was a lovely host. Honestly the best part of the house. Nancy accomodated me last minute and was very good with communication. As for the rest of the place, you get what you pay for. Cleanliness - 1 star, or not even. This was in all areas of the house - kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and common areas. Bathroom the worst - mould all over ceiling and shower curtain, very very smelly. Bedroom floor very dirty, unvacuumed and dusty. Location good - close to various stations and good train lines so the rest of NY is very accessible. Good neighbourhood. Accessibility/security - three sets of doors to go through to get to the house. 5 flights of stairs, old wonky creaky stairs. Very old building. Noise - the bathroom is right next to this bedroom and every time it was used it was very noisy due to the fan that is automatically connected to the lights. Also street noise, neighbours and housemates can also be heard. Q Bedroom - tiny but due to the shelves and drawers I was able to fit my belongings in but suitcases and bags would have to be left in the closet in the hallway. Bed has a slight tilt on it due to the mattress topper so not the most comfortable bed. Wifi - not the best in bedroom. Common areas fine.

  • I had a great stay. You get your own set of keys and self-manage your time in and out, there’s a 24hs deli next door. Location near subway and all kind of shops. Comfortable, lots of amenities, spacious; felt at home.

  • Excellent location. Room was tiny but expected. Check-in communication was very efficient. Would definitely stay again

  • A place where you can feel “at home”. Nancy was really sweet and the place actually felt cozier than the pictures showed. 10 min walk to Union Sq metro made it easy to get around, and a lot of cosy bars nearby. If you’re looking for a grounded and genuine vibe, then this is a great place! (btw a few stairs and no elevator, can be good to know)

It's a very quiet mix community. We are 2 blocks away from the boardwalk. Perfect location for surfing and biking. Approximately 5 minutes walk from the A train and half hour train ride to the JFK or 15 minute drive to JFK.
This room size is 17ft by 15ft in other 255 square feet This gives you enough space to sit in and get work done although the bed is king-size.
  • Gary is a nice host. I like the room that I booked. It’s clean, smells relax, very quiet and safe. His house is very close to St John’s hospital (2mins by walking). He provides basic amenities only so it’s better to bring your own bathroom utensils but he allowed me to use iron which is not included in his listing. Over all it is a good place to stay. I recommend his house.

    Pan Ei2019-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • Gary is a very friendly Host and the communication was great with him. The Room was Clean and we had a great last evening in NYC before going to JFK. It´s very close to the Airport and Parking is for Free so this is a perfect location for one Night. I don’t know if this was done by others who stayed at the same Time but the Bathroom really needs some more attention to stay clean.

  • Excellent! I am a student rotating at St. Johns and I stayed in Airbnb’s in the area for two weeks. Not only was Gary’s one of the best prices, it had the best location and was very nice. Incredible value, he also had a parking space for me. I would definitely stay here again! Thanks Gary

  • Although it is a cozy spot, the value is great as long as you keep in mind it is a shared space. I was out and about most of the day and the location was extremely convenient, located right next to the station with many restaurants and stores around so you have everything you need at any time. Hosts were very friendly and accommodating, just ask if you need anything. The bed was super comfortable and shower water pressure was A+

    Diep2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • This is my first negative experience with an Airbnb host and place in my 2+ years of using Airbnb to travel. My dad and I were staying for one evening to see a concert at Madison Square Garden and the location was perfect. However, when we arrived we saw that there was one bed and a "sofabed" which was more like a loveseat. A full-grown adult could not sleep comfortably on this, even for a night, so we felt the listing information was inaccurate and 3 guests could not comfortably sleep there, let alone two adults who did not want to sleep in the same bed. When we entered the apartment, Antonio's wife was smoking cigarettes while sitting on the couch (where I would have had to sleep) and asked if we minded, after the fact that she was already smoking. We left and came back within the hour and after being told that we could "come and go as we please" we found the host and his wife in their bed with the door to their bedroom open. My dad stated that he saw the host come to the open door completely in the nude! We immediately left and got a hotel, and I requested a full refund from Airbnb, which I was granted within 48 hours of my incident report. While Antonio was a friendly host, I would not recommend this location for anyone, but especially women traveling alone, anyone who does not care for smoking, and people who have personal boundaries. Antonio has not yet reached out to apologize or respond to my email about what took place.

    Trish2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • He is a scam. I booked 3 nights. I did not stay even 1. He answered my questions, helped me how to get there. But once there he said that as he had done me the favour of keeping my luggage earlier I had to do him a favour and sleep on the 3rd night in the same room with 2 men. When I booked IT said I was going to be alone. Then he changed IT. There is not a bedroom, the bed he offers is in the kitchen, which is also a living room, which is also a dining room and an entrance way, a very Tiny place. Then he told me to lie to people. He said that of somebody asked me I should not say he was hosting airbnb because Airbnb was illegal in NYC. He said I should say he was a friend of a friend and that we were having a Wedding party. I felt that my personal safety was at risk. And I am waiting for a refund. He never answered my message about the refund.

    Verónica2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Again, as other reviewers have written, if you are looking for a private space, then this place is not it. It's shared space with the host and wife. If your looking for a place to stay nearby the heart of NY and also nearby Ktown with great night life and food spots, highly recommended!

    Taka2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Good hospitality and very friendly. Value of money especially for people just use the place only for sleeping. People who like friendship also will be good in this place.

    DMarg2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place to visit New-York. Close to the different main place of New-York : Empire State Building, Time Square (15 min by walking). Please note that it is a shared room with a queen bed for visitors. The price is very cheap.

    Jean Prince2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • It is important to iterate that this is a shared space lodging; you will be sharing the common area which is where your bed and belongings are located; the listing states 1 bedroom but this is a private quarters for one of the tenants, the other will sleep on the couch next to your bed. In saying this, the location of this listing is absolutely amazing! Located only moments away from the Empire State Building and metro stations, you can walk or ride to anywhere in NYC in record time! I was out for the majority of everyday and only returning for sleep or a rest while charging up my phone, making location the winner in the value of renting this place. The hosts were quite friendly and helpful. The shower had good pressure.

    Alex2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Antonio is a social, wellread and funny guy. The location is perfect, couple of blocks from the Empire State building. I had a good time staying with him. As long as you know you're sleeping in de same room as the host and his wife is sleeping in another room and you're sharing the kitchen, bathroom and livingroom.

  • Great host, space, and location. Hasbrouck Heights main street is a quick walk and has some good casual dining. New Jersey Transit is just a block away and it is a 30 minute bus ride into NYC. I'm planning on staying again when ever I want to take a trip to NYC!

  • We recently spent a week at the Cbg Guest house in Brooklyn. A wonderful experience for a family -- 3 kids under 11 -- with Lisel as an attentive and gracious hostess. The neighborhood is great with lots going on, good food choices and a nice coffee shop on the corner to get you going in the morning. Getting around all of NYC is really easy as well with subway access within a 10 minute walk. The room and beds were great and it was really nice to have access to a full kitchen. I highly recommend the Cbg Guest house for people wanting to have access to NYC from a neighborhood base. We will be coming back.

  • Cozy and charming, the community be good guesthouse was everything we could have wanted in a home away from home for our 3 day stay. Lisel and friends were incredibly accommodating, the place was clean and cheery and the neighborhood was fantastic.

    Angelique2011-08-08T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Lisel's was great. I needed to add a room at the last minute. She was so accommodating. My family really enjoyed her home. It is very different from what they're accustomed to. For me, I found there is so much information in the host and the home. If you're an avid reader, you will find much joy in the abundance of literature there. This is a great place for family and good friends to stay. I would definitely stay there again. Another good note, Lisel is very passionate in her service to community both near and far. I enjoy people who are unselfish in their plight to serve those that are less fortunate.

    Sandra2011-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • For our group of four adult couples, this accomodation was a good choice. We enjoyed both the noise and excitement of the big City and Park Slope with all its quirky little shops and restaurants. The weather was great, and we were lucky to stay at Liesl's and have access to her garden. The beds were comfortable and the living was easy at Liesl's place. We are in awe of her ardent work for humanitarian causes, and the fact that one contributes to her projects by choosing her guesthouse makes the stay all the more pleasant.

    Vigdis2013-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Lisel was a wonderful hostess. Our room was just as described, with all the amenities described, and in a perfect location for our needs. Would definitely return, thank you!

    Robin2013-07-16T00:00:00Z
  • The location is perfect- close to shops, restaurants and the subway (Barclay/Atlantic avenue) for access throughout the city.

    Corrie2018-05-16T00:00:00Z
  • Lisel’s home is very warm and welcoming. My daughters and I felt like we were a part of an extended family. Lisel’s home is lovely, quiet, and comfortable, and the location is very convenient for the subway, shops, and restaurants.

  • Lisel is an excelent host, we had a great time, the house is realle close from the metro station which makes it easy to move in new york so we got to konw it pretty good. Very small room with AC smoking OK No cooking in kitchen Cold and hot drinks only.
small nice private room in a two bedroomes apt in the uper east side manhattan. In a very safe and nice neightborhood just a few step to public transport and central park. A lot of accomodations nearby including shops, restaurants... smoking is ok Gay friendly.
  • Objective evaluation: great location, very quiet and safe. Room as depicted, some nice perks from the host, Jefry. Pretty much as described. Got very useful insights and tips for the city, so useful for anybody unfamiliar with NYC. Subjective evaluation: words alone cannot describe the incredible pleasure and connection I experienced during that stay. This experience was what makes Airbnb unique: the ability to connect with local people and become actual friends. Had some brilliant, fun and smart conversations that I enjoyed very much! As an overall experience I had nothing so far that could be compared to this unique stay. For those who want to go beyond the functional stay this is definitely the place to be and get an extra dimension of the New York experience by meeting probably one of its kindest residents!

    Rick2016-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great host. Every morning he made coffee for me, he is very kind and a nice person. The only problem is that the address was not the same of what was in the description. It´s 5-6 blocks away from the one that was mentioned in the description. Not the cleanest apartment too. But you receive what you are paying for.

    Aharon2014-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • Overall, Jefry's place was located in a nice area where I felt safe and it is good for one person for a short stay. It is about a 10-minute walk to the 6 or the Q lines and is in a great neighborhood with lots of food options and shops! However, the space is very small, and Jefry does not like cooking in the house (and the kitchen is very small), so I wouldn't recommend staying here for more than a few days. You should also be prepared for a 3 floor walk-up and an apartment that smells like smoke. I also wouldn't recommend staying here if you are going to be in the house a lot, as the space really is cramped, but if you work all day and only come back to sleep, this is a great place!

    Alex2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first Airbnb experience. Ephi was amazing. He is one of the most kind persons you will ever meet! He'll make you tea, coffee... he even made me dinner a couple of times. It was raining the last day, so he lend me an umbrella..... He's got two very nice cats, which won't hesitate to sit next to you. The room I stayed in was pretty small, but it'll do, the bed is good. Keep in mind what you actually pay for it and it's actually awesome. The location is not what the map on the advertisment tells you. Ephi didn't do this on purpose, but it's on the 1st avenue. That being said, it's an amazing location. Safe, calm, and enough bars to keep you drinking at night. The bus stops at the 2nd avenue, and the metro is just a 10, 15 minute walk. The next time I'll be in New York I'll definitely check if this room is available. Otherwise I'll at least go drink some tea with Ephi.

  • We visited Lisel's guesthouse as a family of three, and really enjoyed staying there - it felt far more like a home, rather beautifully decorated and filled with interesting things, artwork and colorful furnishings. The two bedrooms we used were spacious and clean, and we also used the kitchen. An interesting historic house in a nice green neighborhood, a short walk to the metro station and frequent express trains into Manhattan. Lisel was very welcoming and a lovely host, made us feel at home in the big city and even showed us round parts of Brooklyn. Would love to stay again.

    Karin2014-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Lisel is extremely accomodating. My wife and I are Airbnb Hosts and kow how hard it can be. I arrvied late, changed plans, and left early. Lisel adjusted to each twist and turn. The bed was comfortable, the room personal and warm, Cbg and Lisel made my trip work. I am grateful.

    Jesa & John2013-04-22T00:00:00Z
  • The CBG guest house is a great place to stay. Lisel and Tasha were warm and welcoming — my husband and I felt right at home, though we didn't get much of a chance to hang out in the shared kitchen and lovely backyard. Coordinating check-in was easy, and check-out was a breeze, though we weren't able to see Lisel when we left, as we were rushing to get a train. The room is private and quiet (no street noise), and stuffed with interesting artifacts. It seems as though someone lives here when it's not being rented? We found it charming. The adjacent shared bathroom was clean with good hot water and we rarely had to wait, despite there being other guests in the house. The location was great — just steps from great coffee and food and near just about every transport option you could need to get around Brooklyn and beyond. Plus, it was a joy to jog in the park in the morning. Thanks for a great stay!

    Frances2014-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • The stay was great. SO happy to have found such a host in the same neighborhood of the venue the band was performing. Lisel was a great and welcoming host.

  • Fantastic location, easily accessible to public transportation, central to many Brooklyn neighborhoods, close to excellent restaurants. A very diverse and welcoming place! Not only a great value, but also a way to support a very important cause! We'll be back!

    Annie2018-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet and safe neighborhood. Accommodation was spacious which is unusual for NYC. Bath room was very clean. Place was also very quiet and Lisel was very nice throughout.

  • Rhonda's place is gorgeous and clean, and is elevated to great heights by the level of hospitality that Rhonda displays. Home-cooked breakfast, private bathroom, nice little touches in the room, and the ability to come and go as we pleased all made this one the BEST stays on airbnb. Book with confidence.

  • Fantastic!

    Maurice2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Rhonda's bed and breakfast was tantamount to heaven. One of the best airbnb experiences I've had. Def the best breakfast I've had--even compared to bed and breakfasts' across new england. The room was amazing, I felt like a princess. Everything was immaculately clean. Rhonda interacted with us at an appropriate amount and even allowed us to hang out with her precious precious teacup yorkie, remy. Would definitely come back.

    Kali2016-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Rhonda's B&B is by far the best Airbnb experiences I've ever had. My wife and I celebrated our 1-year anniversary and stayed for the night in Rhonda's wonderful home. Upon our arrival, Rhonda took the extra effort to provide us with a bottle of complimentary wine along with a card which was waiting on our bed. So sweet. The home is immaculately clean and beautifully decorated, same with the room. Fresh towels, bath robes, and slippers were all provided, which is really nice. The bed was insanely comfortable too. When it comes to breakfast, Rhonda and James go all out. The breakfast was amazingly delicious. There was so much food I was barely able to finish my plate. It was so good. Rhonda and James also offer a great conversation too. I should also mention that my wife and I had to leave early in the morning (7:30 AM to be exact) and Rhonda didn't hesitate at all to provide us with a giant breakfast before we left. Finally, when it comes to the host, Rhonda is by far the best host I've ever had the privilege of dealing with. She truly goes out of her way to make sure all your needs are taken care of. You really feel like you're part of her family. It's really nice. Put it this way, if you're considering choosing this as your next stay, I seriously urge you to move forward because this will be by far the greatest experience you'll ever have. I certainly plan on coming back.

    Kevin2016-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • Rhonda's BnB is wonderful! Her home is beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. We slept like a babies in the comfortable bed and quiet room. She provided everything for our visit including robes, slippers, extra toiletries and a first-aid kit. We really enjoyed the conversation around the breakfast table with Rhonda and James. We highly recommend Rhonda's BnB to anyone visiting Brooklyn! We'll go back in a heartbeat! Thank you, Rhonda!

    Susan2016-05-23T00:00:00Z
  • Rhonda was a great host. Her home was very nicely decorated and spotlessly clean. She met us at check in and made breakfast every morning. During the week she left before we got up (9:00) and she left us a nice homemade breakfast. We had our room upstairs and our own bathroom just outside in the hall, plus a nice little sitting room. Except for eating in the dining room, we did not use the rest of her home. The house is a half mile walk to the G train and a little less than a mile to the A-C train. There are a lot of restaurants close by, we ate at a good Trinidad place (Ali's Roti) and Jewish Deli (Dave's Brisket House). There is also a little park a half a block from the house that especially nice as the Magnolia and cherry trees were in bloom. We went to the 10:00 Sunday service at Concord Baptist church a few blocks away that was a highlight as the music was good and the people were so welcoming. Although my wife and I did not see them much, Rhonda and her daughter could not have been nicer.

    David2018-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • Rhonda’s B&B is absolutely wonderful. We arrived on the 23rd December and Rhonda was there to give us a very warm welcome, Rhonda’s house was beautifully decorated for Christmas. She has impeccable taste and the whole house was elegant and chic. Rhonda and her family were all very welcoming and went over and above in every way. Our room was gorgeous, with the fridge stocked with some water and pop. Our bathroom was also fully stocked with soaps, shampoos, and lotions. At breakfast we were treated like queens- the table was beautifully laid every morning and we had different delights every day! Rhonda made our stay absolutely amazing. The subway is only 2 blocks away, I would recommend this beautiful boutique b&b to everyone.

  • Location close to two subways (or bus) for easy access to Manhattan. Very comfortable room, large bed (great bedding), one chair, but no real space to sit and relax (i.e. living room). Host Suzy is very friendly and accommodating. Bathroom is not an ensuite, but a few steps down the hall. Host's bedroom on same floor. Guests must be able to walk stairs, as the main floor is a full flight of stairs from the entrance, and the bedroom is another full flight from the main floor.

The bathrooms are fine. The kitchen is of no use as everything is filled with grease and dust! Very dirty and unhygienic with old unclean stained utensils. I would not recommend if travelling with family or kids.

  • Had a very nice stay at the Cbg Guest House. It is very comfortable and so conveniently located. Accomodated my family of 4 perfectly for a one-night trip to Brooklyn. Hope to stay their again soon.

  • Lisel's place was great. Rm 2 is a nice bedroom (1 bed and a pull-out coach). We especially enjoyed the backyard space where you can sit-out and relax. The location is also great - close to the metro and prospect park with a lot of great restaurants near by.

    Damon2018-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our visit here. We had a fairly large private room with a double bed, an air conditioner, ceiling fan and couch. The room was clean and comfortable and it was only a couple blocks away from our daughter. The convenient location was the primary factor in making our determination to stay here, but the friendly atmosphere and comfortable room made it a very nice stay.

  • CBG was a lovely place to stay - as others have said, it's a home away from home. I recently travelled alone from Australia to NY and of the three places I stayed during my trip this was definitely the best. Lisel allowed me to book a room at CBG on short notice and was very welcoming. I didn't see much of her as I was not there for long and she had her own business to attend to, however, from the conversations we had, I found her to be an interesting and friendly person. The house itself is really cute and full of colourful, hippy charm. There is a gorgeous garden out back, big kitchen, great shower, comfortable rooms, lots of paintings, mosaics and books. I stayed in the front room (downstairs) and although I was only there one night it was the little sanctuary I needed after such a long and stressful trip getting to NY. I was able to come and go as I pleased without infringing upon anyone (I spent the night out with friends and returned quietly and easily at 4am through the lower level entrance right next to my room). Lisel allowed me to stay late into the following afternoon so I could wait for a friend to come meet me. The bed was comfortable and Lisel provided both towels and toiletries. The area itself, Park Slope, is a beautiful part of Brooklyn - I wish I could've stayed longer to explore it more. For anyone who is unsure of where to stay in Brooklyn due to safety or cost, this place is definitely value for money and it is located in one of the nicest and safest areas of Brooklyn. The subway station is 2 mins up the road. I went walking here alone both during the day and night (4am from main st back to CBG) and found it to be a very quiet, safe and interesting area. There are plenty of shops, places to eat, friendly people, beautiful Brownstones, trees and birds. All in all a great place to stay, I highly recommend CBG and I will hopefully be back next time I come to NY.

    Sarah2011-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • Lisel is fantastic and went above and beyond to be an amazing host!

    Corrie2017-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Lisel’s place is wonderful! The house itself is superb: nice and cosy rooms, large bathrooms and large kitchen. Lisel herself makes your stay one you will not forget: a beautiful and great person who makes you feel so welcome at her place and invites you to events you likely would not known of otherwise. She is not only a great host but with a wonderful character, helping people for whom who’s desire it is to live in freedom and/or needs someone to take care of. Lisel’s venue is at a great location in Brooklyn (Park Slope). Metro nearby so other parts of beautiful Brooklyn with its great musea, parks, shops and restaurants are easy to go to. Manhatten is close by as well. We visited NYC for the fifth time but only now discovered Lisel’s place. For sure we will return to her great home while visiting NYC again!

  • Great location. My son lived a block away, made it very convenient. Very accessible to subway system, Columbia, restaurants, etc. The hosts were very friendly, I felt quite at home and comfortable.

    Pauline2011-09-13T00:00:00Z
  • Very kind, helpful hosts, close to Columbia and the 1 subway line. They gave me great advice for navigating the city during my 4-day stay. Their home is very clean and relaxing, with lots of interesting decor. Highly recommended!

    Rose2018-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Rahul and Susham were wonderful kind and supporting hosts. The room was clean, the bed was good and the place is close to Columbia University, Central Park and subway stops. Definitely recommended for a stay in New York.

    Hermann2018-05-11T00:00:00Z
  • Pros and Cons for this accommodation. The pros are: pleasant non-intrusive hosts, close to Columbia campus, secure building with elevator, safe neighbourhood, fair sized room with fridge, TV and air conditioner. Apartment is at back of building and away from street noise. Cons are: old building with old plumbing and frightening wiring! Bed is most uncomfortable - it's a flattened sofa bed topped by a thin mattress which does not disguise the ridge running down the middle. The air con is poorly fitted allowing drafts directly onto the bed. The only table is a computer station and only seating a wheeled typist chair. Not a kitchen to cook in - although I had free access to kettle and microwave. Subway and shops are on Broadway - a 7 minute walk through Columbia campus. It's a fair traipse back if you forget something. This place is best for students or relatives visiting students for a few days. Those looking for a base to sight see NY for more than a few days would probably be better off paying a little more and getting accommodation nearer downtown - with a proper bed! Tip: The best shops on Broadway start around 113th Street - so walk down a little. And if you get a chance, check out Riverside Church opposite Grant's Memorial - it's amazing and not well known.

    Maureen2013-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed Bedi's place for a week. It's an amazing experience. The location is perfect to catch a subway and taxis. I enjoyed to walk around the beautiful collage town. There is a little refrigerator, a perfect closet, a drawer and a computer desk, They are very useful for visitors. I had to attend my son's performance. (He is an opera singer/student) I could prepare for attending with a fancy dress in this room. Mrs. and Mr.Bedi are very friendly and kind. I enjoyed to talk with Mr.Bedi who has a sense of humor and Mrs.Bedi who is interested in other cultures. If you are a just sightseeing traveler or looking for a very fancy bed, I can tell you that you can go down to the midtown. But if you are interested in real NY life, there is! I truly recommend this place.

  • Rahul and Susham are the best hosts I could have wished for! The location of their apartment is ideal for a Columbia student and easily accessible with the 1-line train just a block away. They were very caring, helpful and concerned about my stay in New York. I truly felt at home and I enjoyed having breakfast in the beautifully decorated living room. The room they offered me is comfortable, calm and clean. I definitely recommend this great place!

  • Excellent location near Columbia University -- perfect for me while I was doing research there. Friendly and considerate hosts.

  • Great option. Purva's parents are extremely polite, friendly and warm hosts. The room is basic but perfectly comfortable and clean. The location is excellent, just a few minutes walk to the subway, good selection of cafes, wine bars and restaurants nearby thanks to the proximity of Columbia University. Purva was very quick to reply to my initial request and coordinate my arrival at her parents' home.

  • This was my best stay to date, Tamara was an exceptional host she catered to my every need. It was my first time staying in a room in an apartment and I didn’t know what to expect however, I was pleasantly surprised. Her home was spotless and better than the pictures. She made me breakfast and made sure I was comfortable. I would definitely stay with Tamara again. In fact I think I found my new home away from home. Best host!!!

  • I extended more nights for Tamara's hospitality and all kind help during my whole stay. Everything worked out as expected. I will highly recommend Tamara's place to everyone because I don't think you can find a better deal with the same comfort in this area. Goodbye and best wishes to the family.

  • Highly recommended. Tamara's house is super clean with everything you need. The photos are exactly the same as the real room you will be staying. The bathroom is always clean even when sharing with other clients because Tamara cleans it multiple times every day. You get your own key to your room so good privacy. If you need a car, Tamara has a nice one to rent with full insurance and better rate than any car rental company. The neighborhood is beautiful, safe and quiet with a very nice park within 5 minutes’ drive. Tamara herself is a very kind people to help you with things you need. Always respond quickly with useful information. We stayed like a family with her lovely dog named Tommy. Overall, this is a 5-stars place that you can’t easily find somewhere else. I just extended my stay for another 10 days for the good experience here. You should book it before the dates are sold out!

My wife and me were looking for a good new yorker experience and Mrs. Cann helped us with her sweet home, warm and very clean bedroom and hot tea to face the winter during the morning. Linda's home is really near JFK airport. Maybe the distance from Manhattan makes you think about choice other place, but the bus stop is in front of Linda's place and with 10 minutes you'll arrive at subway and with an other 50 minutes you are able to be in so many parts of Manhattan. Take the subway and have a fully new yorker experience. This is a truly blessed home!

  • Merle is a super super host. She gave me a warm welcome, showed me around and made sure I had everything I need. She gave me a clean set of towels after my first week and checked in with me from time to time. The room is on the second floor, bright, stylish, spacious and clean. I found the bed very comfortable. In addition to the bathroom being very clean, the shower is awesome and I loved the exquisite shower curtain. Great location, close to JFK airport. Bus Q3, runs 24 hrs., goes straight from JFK terminal 5 to Merle’s doorsteps - very convenient for my late night flight. As for shopping, it gave me easy access to 3 great malls. F train took me straight to Manhattan/Herald Square where NY famous dept. store Macy’s. Across the street is Manhattan Mall and around the corner Kmart. With only one bus transfer I was able to enjoy shopping at Green Valley Acres mall and Queen Center Mall. Merle is a very gracious host. I had a lot of fun chatting with her after a long day of sightseeing and shopping. I am also very grateful she called a limo car service to help me out with a ride to the airport at a short time. All in all, Merle’s place is a wonderful experience: great hospitality, location and above all a warm heart. What more can I ask for !!

  • Mrs Cann is like the grandmother I never had before; she makes you immediately feel like you’re at home and speaking with one of your own. I am very thankful for everything she’s done for me and my family, and for hosting my family like her own. Mrs. Cann is the perfect religious woman who doesn’t push her views on others. She is non-judgmental and friendly to all. She’s also a straight-shooter so she tells you the truth and is excellent in communicating so she doesn’t make you feel bad even when asking you to do something differently. So if you’re looking for a home away from home; this is definitely a gem of a place with one of the most wonderful woman I’ve ever encountered. You’ll really feel at home.

  • Lydia is an inspiration, both in what BnB's should be and how I'd like my own home to be. Her entire space is impeccably clean; I couldn't find a speck of dust and everything was thoroughly pleasant to all of my senses. I wanted for nothing in the way of amenities and even had more than I was expecting. There is a cast iron tea pot and all the tea you can drink. Lydia is available at all times and always willing to respond to any questions you have. Her policies and check in instructions are clear and concise. It's simply the best Air BnB experience I've ever had and if every stay was half as good as this one, I'd never stay in another hotel again.

The second floor upstairs is exclusively for guests. The first floor includes a sunroom, large living room and beautiful dining area that guests are welcome to share with us as they please or use alone when we are not around. There's also an amazing entertainment and workout area in the finished basement.

NYS Jones beach state park and music theatre are just 10-15 minutes down the parkway across the bay.
