Places to stay in New York
I am booked through May 31, 2020 and I have no rooms available until late June 2020. Private Suite, sleeps 4. (1) Queen Bed in Master Bedroom (2) Twin Beds in Living Room (Daybed with Trundle Bed) Newly renovated, LED Lighting, smart plugs and outlets. Private entry and full bath with stall shower. Quiet and clean! The space is in the historic Flatbush section of Brooklyn and short 2 minute walk to the subway! Contact me directly if you're interested in staying more than 14 days.
The area is very diverse. Coffee shops, restaurants, shopping are all within walking distance.
  • Really close to a subway station that gets you directly to Manhattan. Around plenty of stores and foods(especially if you love Caribbean options). I got the feel of truly living in and being a part of the culture of Brooklyn. Quality experience and would definitely recommend!

  • He’s very on top of communication and makes sure you know everything you need to know before arriving.

  • Great place to stay, very spacious and clean, the location was great for taking public transportation

  • Jason’s place was the perfect amount of space for four of us to stay while we toured NYC. It is clean and spacious, the beds are very comfortable, and even though there is no stovetop, the available crockpot and griddle helped to cook our own meals. It was easy to get in to and felt safe during our stay! Definitely will keep his place in mind the next time we want to visit again!

  • Jason was perfect host, good communication . Place itself was as it was advertised. Metrostation is very close. Nr 2 and 5 takes to Manhattan fast ( in case there is no traffic jam) . As weather turned cold the days we stayed in Jasons place, from outdoor cold came. There was possible to turn on heater, that made loud noise, so we preffed to put on one more layer of cloth on. So everything was fine. There was enough room for 3 people and and all luggage. For us the surrounding street life was a bit scary but it didn't seem dangerous as we were keeping inside at nighttime. I definitely suggest this place as it is totally relevant to the value.

  • If I could give a 6/5 star rating then this review would be the first of it's kind. Looking at the space prior to coming I anticipated a modern space with cleanliness and amenities, my expectations were definitely exceeded within the first minutes. The accuracy is completely on point, if you're looking for a space near transportation/food/etc with basic amenities and then some, I would recommend this place in a heartbeat. Little to no noise from the upstairs area which was perfect, and I was even offered a early check-in due to weather advisory. Once again, 6/5.

  • What a hidden gem. Everything you need, quick walk from the train station. Jason was great about communicating everything! Space is a lot bigger than pictures.

  • Outstanding stay as usual. This is my 3rd time staying. The value is amazing the apartment is modern clean and a great size. Will recommend to anyway. The area is nice lots of food spots near mta and parking is a breeze.

My place is close to Times Square, the bus stop (on the block), the subway station, Penn Station, and everything Manhattan has to offer. You’ll love my place because of the 20-minute ride to Times Square, the comfy queen-sized bed, the modern renovation, the central heat and air conditioning, and everything the area has to offer. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and big groups.
    Please see above.
Long referred to as New York City's "Sixth Borough" because of the quick ride to Manhattan, there is a ton of stuff to do in Jersey City itself. The house is located in Jersey City Heights, just north of Journal Square, which is a more residential neighborhood, but there are plenty of restaurants and local conveniences on Central Avenue, which are listed in the Guidebook for confirmed guests. Jersey City has also become a center for dining and nightlife because the real estate market here is a little more forgiving to entrepreneurs than that of Manhattan. Favorite restaurants include Taqueria Downtown, Porta, and Talde, and bars downtown include Zeppelin Hall Biergarten, Skinner's Loft, and Barcade. Newark Avenue near Journal Square is known "Little Bombay" because of the many South Asian and Indian restaurants that line the street. As it intersects with Grove Street, it becomes a pedestrian-only shopping and dining district that's very pleasant to walk through, especially during the summer. Jersey City Heights specifically is great and is 20 minutes to Times Square by bus and 35 minutes to downtown Manhattan/World Trade Center on the PATH subway line. The Heights sits on top of the NJ Palisades and overlooks Hoboken and the midtown Manhattan skyline, with some of the best views of NYC anywhere. The Heights is mostly single-family houses and includes the Riverview Arts District and a lot of cool new restaurants. It's a five-minute walk to Journal Square (aka "India Square" or "Little Bombay"), which has some of the best Indian food in the Western hemisphere. New zoning laws in the Riverview Arts District allow for live/work spaces, which has made the Heights an attractive neighborhood for artists as Brooklyn has become prohibitively expensive.
  • we really enjoyed staying at Ale and Tom's, the check-in was easy even though it was very late. The room was nice and clean, just perfect for staying over the weekend.p

    Susanna2017-10-29T00:00:00Z
  • Ok so at first we asked if we can check in earlier because our flight got to the destination early. She said no, so I expected my room to be ready at 3 like we had agreed. It wasn’t ready until 35-40 min later. We had to wait with our bags until she said it was ready. Once inside she never really walked us around to show us where thing were at. We kind of read the paper notes around the house . No extra sheets no extra cover. Trash bags on the side of the front door. She doesn’t answer the text so if you need anything you are basically on your own. We asked for a iron and she didn’t bothered to respond. The place is nice. It’s a very calm neighborhood bus stop just 1/2 block away takes you to the subway. Overall I give this place 2/5 starts.

    Damaris2018-06-21T00:00:00Z
  • Rooms were very clean. The bed was incredibly hard and the temperature was freezing, but once we asked if it could be turned up, it was which made sleeping on such a hard mattress a little easier.

    Jennifer2019-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Great price for a nice quiet room. Easy transportation from city and great communication with host.

  • Tom and Ale's place is good to stay for a night. Its closer to all means of travel to NYC. The street is bit quiet, however most of the streets in jersey heights are quiet. Instructions given by them were perfect and no problem checking in. Thing to note: I had to share the living room and bathroom with other person, however this was mentioned before booking. The host were not reachable at anytime but they gave me an alternate contact who was helpful. Bathroom tub and shower curtains had some molds, hence I would advise to keep it clean. My room was little dirty which I suggested them in the private message to take care for future guests.

  • The space was very clean. There is a beautiful patio area with lots of seating. This is a basement unit. Lots of space but not a lot of natural lighting. The walls are thin here so you can hear a lot and I assume you can be heard. Further than I thought from the city but located in a very safe and nice neighborhood. The host had water and soda in the fridge, nice towels toiletries and such. Very Very clean and comfy bed. Washer and dryer was a plus!

    Angela2019-06-02T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice and clean place and very caring host. It can be a little chilly and not recommended if you’re a tall person because the roof is very low but other than that a great value trip

    Jason2019-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent place! Quiet, clean and very comfortable. The basement was a good choice !!

    Marcio2019-11-08T00:00:00Z
  • Tiphanie was the perfect host. My boyfriend and i drove up, and she assisted me with parking, and kept in contact for if we needed any help. We have never been to the area before but will definitely be returning. Area is located about 15 minutes from the Carnasie-Rockaway Train Station making it an easy trip to and from Manhattan. Several close by markets and food choices. Overall this was a perfect stay.

    Olivia2019-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • Way better than expected! Thank you guys

    Brandi2019-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • Tiphanie’s place was beyond amazing. I’m so glad we booked this listing. The area was great, the house was clean, there was more than enough space. I didn’t have any issues with the low ceilings however if you are over about 6’2 I’d say you’re a bit too tall. The small touches around the place truly made me feel as if I were home. Tiphanie communicated very quickly & the hospitality was extremely well. I will definitely be staying here again.

    Brittany2019-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Nice little basement suite in a quite residential area. Cozy and warm, low headspace in the bedroom but it was no big deal. As pictured and very comfortable with some nice little touches like water bottles in the fridge and coffee and tea. Would recommend!

My place is close to Downtown Jersey City and 20 minutes to World Trade Center New York City Its walking distance to public transportation and places of interest, parks - Liberty State Park, Ferry to Statue of Liberty ten minutes Light Rail ride to Downtown Jersey City restaurants and financial district My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.
The room is large with closet space and has a chair with an attached small desk. A bbigger desk, it can be provided upon request
The neighborhood is very quickly gentrifying and new buildings are coming up all over. As with all new places guests should be aware of their surroundings and exercise good judgment. There is an outdoor park on Garfield Ave used by Berry Hill and Claremont communities as well as other communities nearby
  • The apartment was nice, we did sleep very well !! Vicky and John were very kind and thoughtful !! Maybe two things : - the light wasn't working very well in the bathroom - the wifi wasn't really working But they were very nice and the price was justified. Thank you so much to both of you !!

    Silver2019-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • For the price you just can’t beat it. Even though I spent most of my time in NYC, Vicky did not have a problem with me coming in at 4 AM. I almost missed my flight because the bed was so comfortable. Clean room, clean towels and sheets. Clean restroom with clean shower. I felt like I was visiting family.

  • Worked out nice for an overnight. I was able to arrive relatively late and leave early conveniently.

    Brandon2017-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • While Glenda’s place was affordable and close to the subway, I felt that her amenities and the way she portrayed the room in the description could have been better. There is no A/C in the economy room even though it is listed in the amenities. There are two fans that are inadequate when it comes to the heat and humidity of the room in the summer time. The WiFi signal is also terrible and won’t work if you leave the kitchen. She also added pictures of the other room in the same description as the economy room, so when I arrived to bunk beds I was a little surprised. I don’t regret staying in Glenda’s home, it was cheap and the area was great, I just wish she would provide a better description.

    Jeff2018-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • It was to stay here, it is really near to the station train, all day and and all night pass the trains, It was clean and the bedrooms had paswords for your security!!!

  • The apartment is as pictured and good value for money. It's very close to the subway so getting to any part of New York was so easy with a 20 minute ride on the A train to Penn station. Brooklyn is an excellent part on New York to visit and there are some really excellent restaurants within walking distance.

    Rosemary2014-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • The location is fantastic, a few-minute walk to the subway that goes to Manhattan in less than 30 minutes. And being in Brooklyn, the cost was half what I paid for a airbnb in Manhattan in November 2016. The room and shared bathroom are very clean. A few cons are 1) the fridge doesn't work very well, the temperature inside was about room temperature so I would not use it to keep food for more than 1-2 days (the freezer works fine). 2) that the bed is double, not queen (it felt even narrower than that and we are two small people, but maybe that's just because I had gotten used to my queen-size bed). 3) Communication with the host was good but I did not get check-in/check-out instructions unless I took the initiative to text the host myself (everything worked out well though). 4) The bathroom is in the hallway (outside the room) and is shared with the other room down the hall. It was being used when I needed it only about 10-20% of the time though, and never for long. Overall, I would stay here again as the place is a great value.

  • Marylyn's place is comfortable, clean and conveniently situated less than a block from the subway and easily into Manhattan. Although I did not have an opportunity to meet Marylyn, George was very helpful upon my arrival and assisted me in carrying my bags to the apt. I would definitely recommend Marylyn's place for a short stay in NY!

    Althea2015-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • The room was accurate as shown in the pictures.

    Helena2015-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Great little room that's right next to the subway. It's super easy to get to anywhere in nyc from here. I would stay here again when I come back out.

    Josh2015-05-20T00:00:00Z
  • A great experience, pretty clean room and nice host. I liked the experience better than a hotel room.

  • Marylyn´s place is very well located close to the metro station Nostrand Avenue - 5 min walk. There is also a great groceries store within a couple of minutes walk in Fulton Street. The room itself was neat and Marylyn provided us with milk, water, butter and coffee.

  • Glenda's place was great! just as expected! I would stay at her place again if I am ever back in NY.

    Chelsea2017-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • I had a good time at Glenda's. The neighborhood was really nice and quiet. It was an easy walk to a train and shops. I didn't see anyone else who was staying in the house the entire weekend. I heard a few people coming and going, but it was pretty peaceful in the house. I enjoyed being able to be online in my room. I relaxed and watched Netflix on my computer. There was a lot of light in the house, skylights in the bathroom and kitchen. It was very nice. The only drawback was that the bed was very hard. I didn't sleep very well on it at all. But, all in all, it was a nice place for a great price that fit my needs.

    Habiba2016-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • The photos are accurate. The privacy was appreciated and Glenda responded to my texts within a reasonable period of time. I didn't see anyone else staying on my floor the entire time I was there. If you're independent and ok with not seeing the host face-to-face, then this is the place for you.

    Laurie2017-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Not clean.

    Ibrahim2016-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Glenda is a great host, the house is beautiful and the rooms comfortable. It was great to have access to the little kitchen and the neighborhood is historic and fun to walk around in. Make sure to visit the Hamilton Grange National Historic Site just down the street!

    Christopher2018-05-28T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks for your hospitality. The place is clean & tidy, well located and safe. Glenda was welcoming. If I come back to NY, I would definitely stay at this place again.

  • My wife and I personally like to interact with landlords/hosts. Get personal touch or attention from them, get to know the good restaurants around, places to go, etc. If that’s the case for you as well, then flee. We felt like it was a motel. Though I understand Airbnb is a way to make money, this had gone way too far this time and looked like JUST a business to us. Bed was not great and not clean under.

    Cyril & Marie2018-09-16T00:00:00Z

  • Marylyn and Lloyd are very nice and welcoming hosts. Then we arrived they hade provided with breakfast, towels and sheets. They did even after the second half of ower stay provid us with new fresh towels. We lived at Marylyns for 10 days and enjoyed every second of it! The location was perfect, 2 minutes to the Nostrand Ave subway with A / C line. Only 4 stations on the A train to Manhattan. Thanks again Marylyn and Lloyd! Hope to see you soon again!

  • My stay in New York was very pleasant. The location couldn't have been more convenient. There are supermarkets and restaurants right around the corner, as is the subway. The neighborhood felt very safe and the room was cute and quaint. The host also provided very useful information for getting around!

About the NEIGHBORHOOD::: The neighborhood is Flatbush, bordering Ditmas Park and Prospect-Lefferts Gardens. This is NOT hipster paradise, and it's NOT gangster's paradise either! Our neighborhood is very residential and typically quieter than most urban cities. The summertime is louder on the block because very few people have air conditioning and enjoy hanging outside. The neighbors are friendly, so say hello as you pass! The ages of the neighborhood are very diverse (young children to elderly homeowners who have been here for 40 years). Flatbush has a lot of local charm and people with hearts of gold. Jamaican food is plentiful (jerk chicken- yeah!); there is also a local donut shop nearby, Subway, Thai, sushi, pizza, and Indian food for delivery or a 5-15 minute walk to the restaurant, as well as many chain stores like Dominos, Dunkin' Donuts, IHOP, and Walgreens drug store. There is also a Planet Fitness (handy for Black-Card members!) Just a 10 minute walk down the road is Kings Theater (built originally in 1929 and shut in the 70s) just under went a $93 million renovation and re-opened in February 2015. It has been called the Radio City Music Hall of Brooklyn, and it is quite extravagant. Restorationists and Architects would be delighted to tour this place and see a concert or show. Many big names come here including Diana Ross, Sarah McLaughlin, Sufjan Stevens, Ringo Starr, Spoon, Passion Pit, Gladys Knight, Daniel Tosh, and Broadway-type shows like Annie. We are very glad this has opened here! Many students, young professionals, elderly, children live around-- it is very diverse and fun. The subway station is very busy and usually has a lot of litter and trash around, unfortunately. It is busy, lively and well lit; lots of traffic and people hanging out, loving life. Mostly working-class population, so lots of commuters each morning and night. There are not giant housing complexes around; it is a true neighborhood, so smile at everyone and you're sure to get a friendly "good morning!". Police station and Fire Station are two blocks away. Four subway stops away at Franklin Avenue there are many restaurants with burgers, ice cream, vegetarian options, organic grocery stores, bars, coffee shops, wine stores, Thai food, shopping boutiques, live music, poetry readings, and yoga. We are close to Prospect Park-- our favorite part of the borough, and the biggest reason we moved here! About a 20 minute walk, there is a new ice-skating rink (October-April) and in the summer, paddle boat and bicycle rental, and roller skating as well (April-October). It was a $90 million complex! In Prospect Park, there are many large fields for a picnic and trails to walk. There is also a gathering of Food Trucks from May-October every 1st and 3rd Sunday from 11am-5pm, and a long-run Farmer's Market year-round on Saturdays from 8am-3pm. Also the food market Smorgasburg takes place here and is about a 30 minute walk from our door. This park was designed by the same people who designed Central Park. Brooklyn Botanic Gardens are a 35 minute walk, or a 10 minute subway ride right to the entrance.
  • Everything was as expected. Christa and Zach wear welcoming and accommodating. They provided great advice on where to eat and how to get around.

  • Two cute dogs, to cuddle and play with :-) Also very good communication regarding everything - really fast responses! The accommodation is also very cozy and thoughtfully designed and equipped, good place to relax after a busy day in the city. We loved the kitchen and would definitely stay at Christa and Zach’s again!

  • A nice room near 4-5 minutes from subway station. 30 minutes to Downtown, 45 to Uptown. It was a very good experience, I would recommend this room.

    Vitalii2018-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Didn't get a chance to meet Zach but Christa is super nice and very sweet. She gave me some great tips on how to get into and around the City and made me feel very welcomed into their home. This was my first time using airbnb and I was very happy my first time was at Zach and Christa's place. The room I stayed in was very spacious, clean and the bed is very comfortable. The bathroom was clean and right across from my room, which was very convenient. Two things I loved about this Zach and Christa's place is that I felt safe and it was easy for me to get in and out of the City. Next time I come back to NYC I will be booking at Zach and Christa's if they will have me back!

    Henry2014-05-09T00:00:00Z
  • Christa's place is very comfortable and lovely. The bedroom is modern with a comfy bed and the bathroom is as well clean. We got a very warm welcome from Christa, she's an impressive host ever! Christa provided us a lot of useful information, and absolutely we got a very nice take care during our stay. I would say everything is super awesome :))

  • Beautiful Brooklyn house with adorable dogs. Cosy, air conditioning in the room appreciated, great kitchen. Friendly hosts. Not ideal for Manhattan (60 min subway) or for renting Citibike.

    Pierre Remy2018-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Christa and Zach's place! It was convenient to the subway and on a quiet residential street, which was nice. The bed was incredibly comfortable, too. They were super helpful and I wish we could have stayed longer! I'll definitely try to stay there again next time we're in New York.

This is a private room 5 minute walking distance to North Elizabeth train station which takes you to NYC in 25 minutes. There is a bus that takes you to NY Port Authority right on the corner of the block! The house is 5 minutes from Newark Airport.
The room is very clean and very cozy. It can accommodate 1 person comfortably. It has a twin size bed, Armoire to hang clothe, Air Conditioner in the summer Heat in the winter, Flat Screen TV with cable, night stand with lamp, a work desk, and Strong Wi-Fi connection. Although this room has the bunk bed I do not have a ladder for the top bed. I will be able to provide a small step ladder to assist the person staying on the top bunk. (sorry for any inconvenience) ** note: you will be able to hear the sound of traffic because this room is not well insulated. But I can provide ear plugs if the sound will bother you. ** this is still a great deal ;).
In this neighborhood you will see that you are close to many convenient locations. Restaurants (Italian, Portuguese, Chinese, South American, Pizzeria, fast food) Parks, Bakery, Liquor Store, Bars/clubs, Super Markets, Hair Salon, Billiards and more!! The Airport is 5 minutes away and lots of easy access to public transportation to reach NYC. There is lots of diversity and is a safe place to be.
  • This is a small place but comfortable, neat and clean, very closer to EWR airport and good place to stay if you have any interview at St barnabas.

    Muralikrishna2018-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • The family helped me to do the parallel parking which I am not good at. and they reserved parking spaces for tenants, which is really helpful since it is not easy to find a parking space there.

    Sunny (Tian)2017-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Christian's place is just what you need if you're stopping through. Had a great time rocking the bunk beds with my old college roommate. Parking is a bit tough to find but the quick communication and keyless entry made everything super easy. PRO TIP: great Colombian food nearby and a liquor store right across the street to pick up a few beers!

  • Great place to stay and in close proximity of NYC.

    Isabel2019-03-11T00:00:00Z

She accommodated us and was very understanding. Great place for the value. The room has a very cozy feeling to it. Would definitely stay here again.

If you’re looking to get the true NYC experience but don’t want to pay Manhattan prices, but still want to stay close to Manhattan, you’ve found the perfect spot. It’s only 3 min walking from subway :) Entire spacious floor , clean and reasonably priced, our status as a Super Host allows you to vacation here in confidence. Read on below the rave reviews from people who’ve stayed here before. This one bedroom basement apartment with Private bathroom is more than just a place to sleep.
The unit is fully furnished and comes complete with a Queen size bed and a twin bed, and a sofa, providing room for four guests to sleep comfortably. The comfortable mattresses and soft linens will have you asleep before your head hits the pillow. Your private suite has a private bathroom, complete with toilet, walk-in shower, sink, and storage space. There is plenty of storage space for your clothes and personal belongings. The living room space features a leather sofa, modern coffee table, and a large window that allows natural light to flood in. There is a sleek, flat screen TV ( no cable but it has Netflix and YouTube )) in the living room so you can binge watch your favorite shows when you’re not out exploring the city. The apartment is equipped with kitchenette essentials so you can make breakfast in the morning or cook some simple dish :) PARKING: We don't have a designated parking spot, but parking is free in our neighborhood, and so far our guests had no problems finding a parking spot, only if you come after 5 PM it may take some time but you will definitely find one...When you find Parking spot make sure to check the signs on the street, there is some restrictions because they clean the streets on certain days.. Check In is anytime after 3:00 PM, latest checkout time is 10:30 AM. If you are coming to the city earlier you can come and drop off your luggage in our dining room, same if you are leaving the city late, you can leave your luggage in our dining room and pick it up before you leave the city... Jasmin
  • Clean, private, and spacious room with a smart, gracious, and accommodating host. Two thumbs way up!

    Miguel2016-04-16T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome place to stay for a family on a budget.

    Sara2019-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed two days in June of 2017. This spot was about a mile from where my daughter currently lives, so, that was perfect. The $$ is 1/3 of what you would pay for a hotel room, an excellent value. It was reasonably clean, and, very spacious. Communication with the hosts was excellent and, you have a private bath. I guess my only issues are; 1) While there were ample towels for showers, there were no washcloths or body wash/bath soap. (They did bring body wash down the 2nd day.) Bring your own. 2) The listing specifies "Free parking on premises". Not so! You might park blocks away. Having stated the above, knowing what to expect, I would stay here again.

    Bill2017-06-18T00:00:00Z
  • Jasmin is really clear about instruction for check in and check out. They also provide direction upon arrival from the airport and how to get to Airbnb. Space was extremely clean and even offer water, coffee, and tea for guests. They understand our flight time and allow us to leave our luggage in their dining room after check out.

    Chiu2018-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • good communication, pleasant stay. Ty for the hospitality.

    Aaron2017-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying here! Very close to the subway and communication with the host is excellent. Really great having a comfortable temp in the room, and having a small fridge, water, and plates/cutlery (including a wine opener). Expect to hear noises from commen area and outside, but for the price it's worth it!

    Linda2019-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Our review is correct in every detail and we urge all to read it and enjoy these folks who couldn't be nicer.

    James E2019-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Jasmin's place is awesome! It's close enough to do everything you want in the city. The neighborhood was pretty quiet, his place was really clean and comfortable, and he was extremely helpful with figuring out how to get around. I'd definitely go back and stay at his place.

An oasis of calm. This clean, cozy bedroom is great for someone looking for a peaceful place to call home in an historic district. Great long-term solution for travelers, students and interns at nearby colleges or hospitals, or newly assigned business person. People from all backgrounds are welcome in my home.
The room is large, clean and has two very large windows facing south, with plantation shutters, and looks onto our beautiful landmarked, historic block. It was originally the parlor room of the house. It has a large wardrobe, a queens size bed, a small single sofa-bed, a table, two chairs and two nightstands It has air conditioning. It is on the 2th floor of this beautiful historic brownstone, which was owned by Battle Ax Gleason, Mayor of Long Island City, in the 1880's. He was responsible for the construction of PS1 (Public School !) now MOMA PS1 (Museum of Modern Art) two blocks south. This listing is on a landmarked block, the Hunters Point Historic District, which includes this block and around the corner of 23rd St (formerly Ely Avenue). You can tell which blocks in NYC are landmarked because their street signs are the color maroon and the rest are all green (no pun intended).
Long Island City, Queens, is the fastest growing neighborhood in all of New York City. From the house you can walk a few blocks west to the Gantry Plaza State Park which has stunning views of the United Nations and Midtown Manhattan across the East River. Our neighbor, Brooklyn, is to our south. We have good transportation options and you'll be centrally located convenient to the whole city. So enjoy your stay! Take your cameras-hey, it's New York! There's a picture around every corner.
  • very nice place

    Rafael2017-06-24T00:00:00Z
  • Right from booking the room the hospitality began with a message from Daniel. He prepared me for my visit to the Big Apple well before I jetted to the city with tips and answers to all my questions. When I arrived at the door I was greeted by name and welcomed into his home as he made sure I had everything I would need to enjoy my stay while he showed me where everything is and how it worked. The room was comfortable, spacious and a lot quieter than any low price hotel you would find in the big city, and still you'd be pressed to find anywhere to match the cost of Daniel's room. The citi bikes were nearby, which gave a low cost way to travel across the bridge into New York City to gain access to all the worldly known sights, with the added benefit of being able to burn off additional calories to make room for another slice of New York Pizza. If you are travelling to the big city, Daniel is a first class host and will make your stay everything you want - even more.

  • Our room in Daniels home was superb. Great value for the money. Air conditioning for when it was hot, a brilliant bed, mood lighting.. very secure. His house was very nice, a 4 story town house, very secure and very homely. Was a pleasant stay, Daniel is a great guy, fast responder for anything you may need. The house is a 1 minute walk to the subway station and 1 atop into Mahattan! It's in a perfect location beside shops and diners round the block. Couldn't fault staying there atal it was 100% ideal for anything you want in centre of New York City.

    Robert2017-06-08T00:00:00Z
  • Daniel communicated with us effectively and made sure that someone would take care of our needs even though he was out of town. The room was small but accommodating, and the location was superb for being in the city. We had a great stay!

    Sheri2017-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • This was my first Airbnb experience and it couldn't have been better. The location is close to Manhattan, right next to the subway (7 and E/M). 24/7 diner, a grocery store and a laundromat just around the corner. The room was clean and very spacious. Daniel was friendly and always responded quickly. Would definitely stay here again!

    Attila2018-05-21T00:00:00Z

Amazing location 2 blocks to the metro! World Trade Centre/911 museum - 25 mins Brooklyn Bridge - 15 mins The Highline (NYC's latest railroad turned park!) 30 mins Sara is a Canadian and has years of experience as an Airbnb SUPERhost. She works with food and works at a Yoga studio and loves to make people feel welcome. Eric is a born and raised New Yorker who has a wealth of information about the city and is always willing to sit down and help you plan your routes and give tips on cool things to see. We have exposed brick & hardwood floors. We are also great friends with all of our Neighbours so you can get a sense of the true culture of brooklyn Your bedroom offers a fully private space during your stay—no one has access to your room. We offer hostel prices and you get your own room with heater and AC. Two bright windows and comfy REAL beds (many Airbnb In Nyc are blow up beds and don’t have heat in your room!) Also be CAREFUL about supporting cheating property owners who run illegal NYC Airbnb’s! We live here and this is the only room we Airbnb and this is a fully legal Airbnb. Rent is rising in NYC and illegal Airbnb’s are a major issue for making spaces unaffordable for people. Also you are welcome to come in and out anytime. If it’s late in the evening and the house is asleep you’re welcome to hang out downstairs if you’d like to still stay up and chat—we get it, you’re on vacation! We have great water pressure and an instant hot water heater so you never have to worry about cold showers even for larger groups. We are on site and always willing to help and take care of any issues you have. There are two floors. The first floor is the shared living space, kitchen and half bath (toilet and sink). Then upstairs there is your room, a full bathroom (with shower/bath tub), washing machine and my room (I have my own bathroom separate from yours) so no morning line ups to deal with! Our best friend, Billy, is an artist and rents another room upstairs as a storage space. You will most likely not see him because he travels a lot for work. But he is here approx 1-3 days a month.
It's is a truly diverse non-gentrified brooklyn neighborhood. Most people here have lived here since the 60s and own their homes, so it's not like other parts of Brooklyn where people are just renting and don't know each other. Our neighborhood has block parties every weekend in the summer and someone is always dragging out their BBQ or relaxing on the stoop in true brooklyn fashion. We live down the street from a lovely local coffee shop called Daily Press which offers up delicious breakfast and coffee on your way to the train station! local eat in spots are soulful foods, chez Oskar, peaches, the green place, and there are lots of local places to grab a jerk chicken to go! There is a 24 hour deli directly across the street that makes a great lamb over rice. The food is good diner-food and cheap. We also have two lovely coffee shops within 4 blocks walking distance. Lastly there is a large fully stocked grocery store down the street. It's a super close walk to the C train (2 blocks!) which takes you right to JFK or quickly into Manhattan. Lastly you are close to the L train and J and Z trains which will take you quickly to Williamsburg and bushwick. We are a 15 min walk to bushwick.
  • My family's stay at Sara and Eric's was great. Their home is beautiful and they're lovely people who are more than willing to help in any way they can. The location was close to the subway and multiple places to eat. The neighbourhood itself may not look like much but it's super walkable and everyone there is super friendly! I definitely recommend staying here :)

    Courtney2017-08-07T00:00:00Z
  • Sara was incredibly accommodating, allowing us to check-in extra early. She was also super helpful, down to sending us exact directions and photographs of the appropriate subway platforms with directional arrows. The room was nice and comfortable. Everything in the kitchen was labeled for our convenience and she was very responsive to messages. We felt like we were guests, not just strangers who booked her room through an app.

  • The most amazing hotsts. The three dogs were so lovely. The best hosts by far!!! Great privacy. However they were also totally accessible to chat and give advice. The location is in bed stuy which was further than we thought. We truly did get a Brooklyn experience! If you are a single woman traveling alone, this won’t be the spot for you.

  • Nick and Brianne’s place is very clean and has nice touches and amenities. Neighborhood is actually not as bad as it may look. We had a quiet night. Parking might be an issue as most of the street parking spots are already occupied, you need to drive around to find one.

    Vivienne2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • A very clean, spacious place.

    Suraj2018-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Amenities are great. House is clean and cozy. Checkin and checkout is super convenient. Parking is easy to find. Everything is great except that it takes about 20 minutes to walk to the PATH train to get to Manhattan. It’s especially hard when it is raining.

    Peng2019-05-14T00:00:00Z
  • Great place!

    Robin2019-06-26T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome space! It was clean, cute and very stylish. Although there was only two of us, there was plenty of space for a larger group. We felt right at home and especially enjoyed the master ensuite. We didn't actually meet with Nick & Brianne, but they were very clear in communicating and making out check-in seamless. All home instructions were very clear- and the space exceeded our expectations. A nice touch that they added to the home was a map where every guest that stayed with Nick and Brianne marked where they'd come from with a pin. We were super intrigued to see that people from all over the world had come and stayed here. They are great hosts!

    Barbara2018-04-17T00:00:00Z
  • The owners were super friendly and great with communication. The pictures resembled the house perfectly. Thanks for accommodating us with an early check in!!

    Maria2017-05-07T00:00:00Z
  • The place was incredibly clean and neat. The hosts were great at communication. They responded quickly. The area was nice and quiet. Parking was the only issue. We drove around a bit looking for a spot and couldn't find one so we ended up waiting until someone left. Other than that, a wonderful place to stay!

    Vineetha2017-05-04T00:00:00Z
  • My Family and I had an amazing time at our first Airbnb stay. Literally felt like home 🏡 they had everything if needed. Great location and I must say the Gino’s Pizza 🍕 was delicious 😋. The house had an amazing touch, enough beds for everyone to sleep comfortable. Parking was easy to come by especially since we mainly rode the train 🚊. Thanks for an amazing week I will recommend this place ASAP. Until next time!

hi my name is Cheema (host) offering a beautiful basement apartment, has its own entrance. You get what you see.Nothing is shared. it is a newly renovated furnished basement studio apartment with branded ashley's furniture with nice queen size very comfortable bed with 82" 4K tv with boss home theater with free super high speed internet free wifi, and lastly but not least Alexa. The space feels were warm and cozy with some luxury taste here and there.Street parking is difficult to find at times.
(READ THIS BEFORE BOOKING!!) This is a basement with an entrance at the back side. IF YOUR OVER 5”10 YOU SHOULD NOT BOOK THE PLACE.The ceiling is low (6 feet 7 inches). There is also a beam in the room which goes from one end to another and it has a clearance of (5 feet 10 inches). The kitchen is not too big it has a stove a sink and a few cabinetsnight.something to keep in mind.If you are over 5 feet 10 inches this apartment is not suitable for you.You can book the apartment but you have to be mindful of not getting hurt. You should note the bathroom is small and it is a standing shower but it’s all well out together. This apartment is suitable for two people, the third one would have to use the couch. For check-in You should go to check-in instructions and do a self-check-inOnly street parking is available.Which is sometimes diff lit to find but can be found with a little bite of looking.
The neighborhood is good with many mixed cultures. We have lived here for 20 years and have never found a problem.
  • Accurate place that is very near the subway and JFK airport. Place is a basement with all your needs. I don’t know much about the neighborhood since we were just going straight to Manhattan from there. Far warning though if you do go to Manhattan, it’s a very long subway ride back to this place and could get confusing after 11:05pm.

    Joshua2018-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Definitely a great space!!! Very beautiful and comfortable wish I could’ve stayed longer

    Sydney2018-12-20T00:00:00Z

  • Great location in Williamsburg. Close to subway, restaurants, park, etc. You'll find many nice places in walking distances. Oliver was a great host. He made me feel very welcome and helped me all the time. The place had all the things needed. You share the kitchen and the bathroom with others but they are in and out quickly. I'd like to visit again.

  • Great Little Place in an unbeatable location in Williamsburg and close to the Bedford Ave. Spot. Nice quiet space in the heart of NYC to unwind

    Robert2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • Oliver is a really nice host. He prepared a nice room with an air-conditioning and a table with lamp. He made almost no noise when cooking, which made me feel at home!

    Tianxiao2018-06-20T00:00:00Z
  • Nice space to stay for a night. On the smaller side which isn't a problem for me. Oliver was a great host and his apartment is well located. I would stay here again!

  • Location is A+ (near Bedford Av which is 15 mins to Manhattan). Other than that, the place was just alright. You get what you pay for.

This is a private room 5 minute walking distance to North Elizabeth train station which takes you to NYC in 25 minutes. There is a bus that takes you to NY Port Authority right on the corner of the block! The house is 5 minutes from Newark Airport by car.
The room is very clean and cozy. It can accommodate 1 person comfortably. It has a twin size Orthopedic Mattress Bed, Amoire to hang clothe, Air Conditioner in the summer Heat in the winter, study desk, refrigerator, Flat Screen TV with cable, night stand with lamp, a work desk and Strong Wi-Fi connection. This particular listing has low ceilings and I do not recommend for guests over 6feet tall. This room is located on a third floor.
In this neighborhood you will see that you are close to many convenient locations. Restaurants (Italian, Portuguese, Chinese, South American, Pizzeria, fast food) Parks, Bakery, Liquor Store, Bars/clubs, Super Markets, Spa, Billiards and more!! There is lots of diversity and is a safe place to be.
  • Great for a quick stay.

    Alex2019-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great experience at Christian's place. Airport pick up service very useful, everything clean and organized.

    Manuela2018-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, amazing price, conscientious hosts. The place is not fancy, but clean, well-equipped and has everything you need. Location relative to EWR and NYC can't be beat. Christian will work with you for reasonable accommodations. Will gladly stay again.

    Munim2018-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great place & very close to Newark Airport

    Matthew2019-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • As mentioned, and shown in the photo, there is a slope to the ceiling and it would be uncomfortable for tall people. In addition, the slope is in the bathroom and hall on the 3rd floor. It was January, so I didn’t use it, but there was a window A/C unit in the room. There was also a mini fridge, which is not in the photos. The kitchen was a bit limited in basic utensils and there was no oatmeal and very little cereal, but the kettle worked great and I assume the microwave and stove/oven would as well. I arrived a bit earlier than the 3:00 check-in time, and the message I got and person who greeted me were very accommodating. I also liked the touch of a welcome sign on each door with our names! This location is very convenient to the 112 bus to Manhattan and the North Elizabeth train station. There is also a Stop & Shop supermarket in easy walking distance.

    Wendy2019-01-13T00:00:00Z
  • Christian’s place is a short walk from the NJ transit and <$10 Uber ride to Newark airport. Would recommend to anyone looking for a place to crash before their flight!

    Celine2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • Very affordable place in a safe neighborhood, impeccably clean (Christian's mother is doing a great job!). Big, sunny kitchen, enough bathrooms, direct train connection from North Elizabeth via EWR to NYC is in walking distance.

    Brigitte2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • I just stayed one night on a layover at Newark. A great budget room, with great hosts. Clean, comfortable (though better suited to those who aren't too tall), and nice touches like free water, a fridge, TV. Christian was quick and helpful in his responses, and his parents were very friendly. I had a lot of trouble getting an uber or lyft from the airport at peak time (I think because the Airbnb is so close by?), so if you can prearrange a pick up at the airport I'd recommend it. Christians mother kindly drove me back to the airport early the next AM, which was a big help!

  • This location is cool if you're in NYC and busy ALL DAY! The photos of the place are spot on. The outside has a lot of construction materials. Also, upon arrival my family and I had to wait 45min until the water was turned on. Again a place for those looking to stay busy in NYC. There's no TV, but there's WIFI.

The Addisleigh Park historic district is a suburban-type enclave in southeast Queens with a rich and distinctive history. The neighborhood of approximately 650 homes, Addisleigh Park was largely developed in the 1930’s as part of the pre-World War II building boom that shaped large swaths of eastern Queens. The area would eventually become home to notables such as Count Basie, Lena Horne, Ella Fitzgerald, Illinois Jacquet, Jackie Robinson, James Brown, Joe Louis, Milt Hinton, Roy Campanella, Percy Sutton, Cootie Williams, W.E.B DuBois, Fats Walter and many others.
  • This was a great place to stay. It was very clean and the host was a pleasure. Only thing we had an issue it was with the air conditioning not keeping the room at a cool temperature. This could also have something to do with us coming on one of the hottest weekends in New York. Also if you are unfamiliar with the city and it’s your first time I would suggest staying somewhere a little closer in the city just so that you can access the subway and the buses. This is perfect for someone who knows their way around the city, or has been to Ny a few different times and knows how the transportation system works.

    Jessica2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great place to stay! It was clean and spacious. Host made us feel very welcomed! We will stay here again when we return to area.

Bed was so comfortable and the fans/ac unit worked great. Would 1000000% recommend anyone looking for New York area to stay here. 2 min walk to train station. And there was a Dunkin’ Donuts about 10min walk for breakfast that we used. Thank you for your amazing hospitality Geralde and letting us stay with you. Hope to visit again soon the next time we come back to New York.

Easy to get to & from La Guardia via taxi & JFK via subway. Welcome to Brooklyn!! KEEP IN MIND I HAVE ANOTHER LISTING!!! If this listing is unavailable try booking my other room in the same house. Just send me a message!!
The Room is part of a spacious House (not apartment) on the first floor, located in Brooklyn. A second bed is available upon request. The bathroom will be primarily yours. I have a half bathroom in the other room. Other guests will only go in the main bathroom to shower if anything. If this room is booked check my other listing for availability. Use instant book if the dates are free on the calendar. There is no need to message me ahead of time unless you have a question about something in particular. If you need the room for two nights message me and i can maybe accomidate you. There is street parking available for free. There is street cleaning. M,T,,Th,F 8:00- 9:30 so park accordingly. You can always drop your bags off if you need to before check in at 3pm, just let me know ahead of time and I can coordinate something.
Up and Coming Artsy Urban Neighborhood in Brooklyn. Close to local restaurants and bars. The train stops are a 10-12 minute walk. Once on the train it's less than 25 minutes to Manhattan. This is Brooklyn, not Manhattan. There will be some travel time to get to Manhattan, in my opinion, not too much. The neighborhood is safe, but can be a culture shock for some. It's not the upper west side or midtown, keep that in mind. I love my neighborhood!
  • Totally recommended! Victor is a great host and the place is super clean and has everything you need!

  • Victor is the perfect host. He is a really friendly guy, that helped us with everything we needed. His flat is clean and big and everything was perfectly arranged from the arrival on. He even told us the cheapest way from the Airport to his house.

  • Best value we could find and a perfectly good room with AC, comfortable bed, and clean bathroom. Bushwick is Bushwick but it's not too difficult to get into Manhattan or Williamsburg. We did not actually meet Victor (effectively had the place to ourselves) but he was very responsive to our questions. Thanks Victor!

    Devon2017-06-15T00:00:00Z
  • Victor is a very attentive host. He made sure I arrived with no issues and made sure any questions I had were answered. He carefully labeled all the spaces on what can be used. He has thoughtful touches like filtered water, tissues and cotton swabs. It was nice that the chinchilla Sir Charles was watching over the space 24/7. I knew I was in good hands. :)

  • Everything was perfect. I would recommed it everyone.

    Jiri2016-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • Victor's place was about 10 minute walk from L'impremiere cafe which an article called " the best chocolate croissant in NYC " which was the best part about the location. The house was quiet for resting and bed was comfortable enough. The place was clean.

My place is located in Woodhaven, Queens, NYC. It is 7 minutes from the nearest subway J and A train, and 30 minutes to Manhattan by J,E&F Trains. You’ll love our place because it's safe, clean, quite, and friendly atmosphere. Our place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers. We also welcome international students looking to stay for 1 month or more in New York City.
Our place is equipped with a 24 hours non surveillance cameras located at the main entrance and hallways for added safety and security to our guests.
Close to the transportation and shopping areas.

  • Maria's house was very clean. The amenities were very modern, and the room was spacious. The bathroom was shared but was immaculately clean with modern furnishings, I particularly liked the LED in the tap. Water pressure was OK but not amazing. Access to public transport was good, with a choice of both the A and the E train. It was about 30/40 mins into Manhattan, but we chose this particular area due to an early flight, and it was only 15/20 mins by car to JFK. Walls were quite thin so could hear the guests in the room next door, and there is a small fridge/freezer in the room. Overall the accommodation was great value for money, and I would stay again if flying out of JFK.

  • We arrived at the home after a very long day of commuting into the city and it was about 10 pm when we checked in. We had not eaten yet and everything was closed. Maria heated up a plate of leftovers from her home cooked dinner and brought us fruit and juice without a second thought! The room had a lock on it and we felt safe in the space. She had subway routes with detailed instructions that were very helpful. The room was very comfortable with the AC after long 95 degree days. When we had to cut our stay short because of unforeseen events, maria was understanding accommodating. Great first experience using Air Bnb!! Thank you for having us.

Our cool and comfy one bedroom apt. with windows facing our Japanese maple and magnolia trees is conveniently located in one of the most city like communities. Astoria ranks within the top ten coolest neighborhoods in the world as per Time Out magazine published on September 2019 and CNN Travel. Our apartment is about 3 blocks from the elevated trains that quickly take you to Manhattan or connect you with other train lines and buses.
Our place is neat, cozy and quiet. It is cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Our kitchen is equipped with a refrigerator, microwave, toaster/oven, an electric teakettle, an induction cook-top, a coffee maker, and utensils.
We love our neighborhood because it has amazing restaurants, diverse cultures and foods, museums such as The Museum of the Moving Image, The Noguchi, MoMa PS 1, Socrates Park with diverse venues in the summer, Astoria Park with incredible views of the city across the East River, and easy access to different places, great shopping stores and many more. "CNN Travel 8. Astoria, New York New York's borough of Queens is one of the most diverse places in the world. Historically a haven to Greek and Italian communities, waterfront Astoria has gone from being a local secret to an international hot spot." (September 2019)
  • Silvia and her husband were extremely friendly and responsive. The apartment is great: quiet, well-appointed, in a very interesting and diverse neighborhood and close to the subway and shopping.

  • Great host, great location! Very close to Broadway subway station, easy ride into the city. But there are some cool bars and restaurants in the neighborhood so we spent an evening exploring nearby too. Would definitely stay here again!

    Daniel2019-05-30T00:00:00Z
  • Silvia was such a sweet host - very accommodating! We asked if we could possibly check in earlier (as our flights arrived at around 5:30am and we wanted to have a place to leave our luggage so we could check out NYC for the rest of the day), and she went out of her way to make it work for us even though it was a little inconvenient for her. Thank you Silvia! The apartment was exactly as described in the listing, very nice and clean - the toilet was a little clumsy to deal with but not a huge deal, and the place was within walking distance of the subway (although we used Uber to get around most of the time). Also within walking distance of several great places to eat - I almost wished we had more time to stay longer and sample more of them! Would definitely stay here again.

  • I spent a month at Steve's place and really love it. The apartment is very clean and have all the necessary amenities (fridge, cooking utensils, dining ware), perfect for those who would like to cook during the stay. The location is good, just a few minutes walk to Astoria Park, opposite the promenade, quiet and safe, with supermarket and bus station nearby, or 20 minutes walk to the subway station. Steve and his family are very responsive and helpful upon my request, most of the time Steve will reply my message in just a few minutes. I had a good time staying here!

    Man Kit2018-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • The space was clean, cute, and in the perfect location. A nice quiet, residential area of Astoria Queens. The store was a couple of blocks away and had everything I needed. The park was literally steps away, with a beautiful view of the East River and Manhattan. Steve was quite the gracious host. Attentive and quick to make right any needs, answer any question or concern-right away. A smaller space. Perfect for one person. You can make it happen with two, but no more. I’ll definitely be back if available.

Beautiful bedroom in a quiet house about forty-five minutes from Manhattan by public transportation. House is right between Chinese and Jewish neighborhoods, a five minute walk from the bus, supermarkets, restaurants, and ten minute walk from Flushing Meadows Park, Queens Botanical Garden and Queens College track.
I teach philosophy in a nearby college so you can expect a relaxed, intellectual environment, interesting discussions, books everywhere and, if desired, meditation/vegan lifestyle workshops. French, Spanish and German spoken here.
This neighborhood is quiet and safe at all hours of the night. The demography is an exquisite mix of Chinese, Italians, Spanish and European Jews.

  • Abi was a great host. Her home is in a great place that is 2-3 mins from a bus stop that takes you into the city easily. It takes about and hour to get into Manhattan via public transit. Very good value if you're just wanting a place to sleep.

Welcome to the suite! -Cozy room with queen bed in an alcove. -Small TV that streams Netflix, YouTube, and Amazon prime to name a few. -In the larger seating/dressing area with vanity table and comfy chair -all my rooms have mini fridge for you to store your personal food items; -I do not have a room keys, but the door locks from the inside for privacy. -Please note that the train passes frequently, and you can hear it. I provide complementary earplugs.
We foster free roaming kittens. What does this mean? The kittens are allowed anywhere in the house. If you find a kitty in your room and you need privacy, you are welcome to take the kitty out. But please, please please, be comfortable with cats.
PLEASE READ ABOUT THE LOCATION, AND ASK QUESTIONS. it is incredibly unfair when guests choose to stay here, and take advantage of our low prices, because we are a little off the beaten path-and then they give us bad reviews for location. We are on E. 237th St in the Bronx, between White Plains Road and Richardson Ave. We are 1.5 blocks from Nereid station on the 2/5 subway line. The MTA has a trip planner feature on their website that allows you to enter your place of origin and your destination, and then it will give you routes/travel times/prices. The web site will also alert you to route and schedule changes due to construction or other delays. If you need to get to the heart of Manhattan quickly, take an 8-10 minute walk down to the Woodlawn Metro North Station, and it will have you to Grand Central in 20 minutes. Wonderful tree-lined residential neighborhood, with easy street parking. I raised 3 daughters here. A bustling , family friendly area. Lively, friendly, diverse neighborhood with lots of shopping and restaurants. Spanish, Guyanese, Jamaican, Chinese, and fast food all a quick stroll-or delivery call-away. Residental streets feed into White Plains Road which is the main thoroughfare, or the Broadway of the Bronx, if you will. Unlike other parts of the city, we have free, unregulated parking on our side streets. A block away is a well-stocked supermarket, as well as multiple produce markets, fish markets, beauty and nail salons. Also an eclectic variety of retail shops, where you will find great deals both domestic and international. 3 miles from the major Deegan highway, 3 miles from interstate 95, 1 mile from the Bronx River Parkway. Walking distance to Montefiore medical center’s Wakefield campus. Easy commute to the Bronx Zoo, Fordham University, and the Botanical Gardens. Please note: we are 1.5 blocks from the elevated train station which is very convenient however, some do find it challenging to adjust to the sound of the train. We provide ear plugs, and suggest a noise cancellation app for your phone. Please do not choose to stay here, and then complain about the train. It’s not fair.

  • This was my first time in NYC and the bus ride from Julian's place took about 35 minutes. It was a good amount of commute time for the price that you pay. His place was very homey and I especially appreciate that Julian allowed me to leave my luggage temporarily after checkout (12pm) because my flight out wasn't until evening time. Would definitely recommend for anyone traveling to NY!

    Larry2014-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Antonios was really pleasant! We had everything we needed and the host was lovely and very considerate. The room was in good shape and the neighborhood was quiet and nice.

    Camilla Louise2015-06-29T00:00:00Z
  • Antonio was super great to work with. We needed a place to stay after we missed our flight out of JFK. We booked his place and within minutes got a response. He gave us great directions to the house and it's about 20 min by car and 50 min by transit from JFK. The place was a bit run down. The linens looked clean, but the whole feel of the room and bathroom was a bit dingy. I wouldn't want to stay here for more than a night. Antonio was great, but the room was not my fav.

    Heidi2017-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Antonio's was great, even if it was just for one night. We needed a place to stay to leave early for the airport and his place was perfect for this. He is a really good host, he made us feel at home immediately. He helped us with everything we needed, telling us how to get to JFK and where to go out to eat in the neighborhood. The place was clean and comfortable and even had a blow dryer which came in handy because of the cold outside. We highly recommend this place!

    Camilo2014-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • I actually didn't have the chance to meet Antonio. But everything went very smoothly. Location is perfect when you come from JFK. Few minutes walk from the subway. The room was as described small but clean and cozy

    Yann2015-08-29T00:00:00Z
  • I reached out to Antonio after my flight was cancelled. He was able to accommodate me and my fiancée very quickly. The place was easily accessible and as private as you wanted it to be. Antonio was gracious enough to give us the bigger room which we truly appreciated. We book this place mainly because it was so close to the airport and we are glad we did.

Most people on Airbnb don't actually have a place free for that long even though they show as open all the time, and many will take days to get back to you and say they can't do it. The place is a decent sized studio apartment with a shared bath, up one flight of stairs (there wasn't much contention for the bathroom). There are seven studios on three floors, and five of them are rented on airbnb. Mine had a kitchinette with utensils and basic cooking equipment, good wifi, and an air conditioner that was absolutely vital in the summer. It's not luxury but there was nothing missing - it's run a little like a long term stay hotel, Marylyn and Lloyd are right there living downstairs in case you need something. The mattress is European style firm, which I actually like. This studio has three north facing windows, which means it doesn't get a ton of natural light. Two blocks away is a Foodtown grocery with decent prices and lots of quality food. Grocery availability was great. It's also quiet. I couldn't hear the other tenants if I was in my room with the door closed. I had three windows facing the street, but there wasn't much road traffic or noise. Occasionally people in the neighborhood would play music loud outdoors, generally on a Friday night. I often work from home so I know it's fairly quiet at all times of day. A real plus with staying in a room that is always rented out is that it's "yours" while you are there. You don't have to constantly worry about disturbing someone else's personal possessions, or deal with an owner that is hard to get in touch with. Other than the dishes, everything there is durable and hard to break. Basically, it was a perfectly fine place to stay for the duration and I absolutely recommend it. This is one block from the Nostrand AC subway line. This is a pretty good way to get into Manhattan. It's less good to get to other parts of Brooklyn, because you may have to take the C local to Lafayette and then walk five minutes to Atlantic Terminal. Note that most Airbnb places in Brooklyn do not have good subway service at all. The G line is horrible, anything over 10 minutes walk from any line is horrible (this includes much of Clinton Hill). The neighborhood is middle to lower middle class, and this is quite close to a main road so it's perfectly safe. However, there are not a lot of good restaurants close by - I ended up traveling 20 minutes by foot and/or subway when I wanted more variety in my food. When I ultimately got an apartment, I made sure I didn't have to take the subway to get everywhere. A note based on an earlier reviewer who backed out because she didn't feel safe... this is literally a 2 minute walk from the subway. NYC subways are quite safe, and Nostrand itself is a street with high foot traffic. The place is 1/2 block from Nostrand (1 minute), on a well lit street filled with the people who live right there. Not to put too fine a point on it, the neighborhood is 90% non-white and there are some low-income buildings on the street (which means that a bunch of people tend to hang around outside). That makes some people nervous, even though Bed-Stuy does not actually have a lot of crime and this area is way too visible for random criminals to hang out in. To get to Manhattan you walk 2 minutes to the Nostrand AC station, where both trains show up every 10 minutes. Either line takes at most 15 minutes to get to Fulton St. in Manhattan, where you can transfer onto most other lines in less than 5 minutes. This is actually better than average for Brooklyn, because most places are more than 2 minutes from the subway! Better subway access, IF you are close to the station, can be had in the following places. Williamsburg on the L line, if you are not too many stops into Brooklyn, because you come into Manhattan at a more convenient spot. Any of the few 2345 stops (red and green lines at the same station), just because trains come so often you never have to wait 10 minutes. Marylyn and Lloyd are pretty nice and helpful, although I settled in to New York fast and didn't really need much help. I actually didn't see them much and almost never saw the other tenants, because we kept different hours. Overall this was just what I needed, basically I would call it reliable and convenient. Everything was taken care of and there were no bad surprises. Hopefully this review gave you enough information that you won't have any surprises either!

  • Though I didn't meet with Marylyn personally Checking in and out was a breeze. The studio is conveniently located a block from the subway which made it easy to get around.

  • I thought for sure the place would be disappointing, because it was a hundred dollars cheaper than anywhere else within a mile. BUT IT WAS GREAT. Coffee and tea waiting in the cabinets, fresh towels for the (shared!) bathroom, very pleasant management. I'd stay there again in a heartbeat.

  • The woman who manages the building was very sweet and helpful. The neighborhood is lively and somewhat loud at night, but that's to be expected. The street is located just off a major heavy traffic area with lots of little stores and quick dinners. The location is very close to the Children's Museum and Botanical Gardens. VERY close to the subway. As a woman traveling alone with my small child I felt a little nervous in the neighborhood, but that's probably because I'm from rural Iowa. There was a car broken into right outside the apartment during my stay, which added to my concern. However, all the people I encountered were very nice and helpful. The shared bathroom was very clean. The apartment had bottled water, coffee, and all the utensils needed. My only issue was the room had a strong smell. Maybe that's just my nose - I have a super strong sense of smell. I liked being able to open the windows during the day and experience the neighborhood. The room had nice shades to block out the sun when/if you want that. Also, had TV which was nice for my son. It was a great stay.

  • I loved the studio! It was very cute and comfortable. Marylyn and her family were very nice and accommodating. The neighbourhood is, while authentically "Brooklyn" might not be the most comfortable for some, but as a single female traveller who was arriving back the the studio at very late hours, I had absolutely no problems. Very close to the train, which was extremely convenient, and I appreciated the complimentary water and breakfast items. The bathroom is shared and separate from the studio, but I never had to wait to use it, and it was extremely clean. Some advice: You might want to contact Marylyn before you head to the Studio from the airport(s). I had a very frustrating time getting a cab from LaGuardia to Brooklyn and she can provide you with directions to get back and forth. I would highly recommend the studio.

NETFLIX, Hulu, SlingTV, Amazon Prime and etc in all my rooms! My place is perfect for a layover from EWR, you can arrive anytime after checkin (2:00pm), even after midnight. We use a keypad. The room is on the 2nd floor, which is a separate apartment from mine, I am available 24/7. The 37 bus from EWR stops 2 blocks away, and the same stop, runs the 107 bus that leaves you in NYC. A few fast food places near by but I recommend uber eats. coffee and tea provided. Luggage storage ok
!!!!!!!!!NO SMOKING IN ROOMS $200.00 charge, no excuses or expectations. It disturbs other guests and my guests comfort is my priority.!!!!!!! Need to leave your car parked while you go away? I charge flat rate $6.50 a day. You can take your Keys too! Inquire now. My home is a 2-family home. I live in the apartment downstairs, if you need me. My husband and I upkeep constantly. Safety? I have 24/7 surveillance outside the home and inside the home. Someone is always home to help, you can always ring my bell or text/call. I have maps for NYC and NJ transit too. I also do not allow any outside guests so everyone inside the home is accounted for. Your safety and that of my family is highly important. The space has three bedrooms side by side, the rooms are for Airbnb guests, and sometimes they are booked and sometimes their vacant. You would share the bathroom and kitchen area, which Myself or a member of my family come up to clean 2 times a day. I just ask to please keep clean so everyone finds it the same :) I provide shampoo/conditioner/body wash and towels. You will have a lot of privacy because other Airbnb guests that share the space are out all-day or arrive very late for a layover from EWR. I love for my guests to communicate with me 100% for anything at all. Directions, complaints, concerns, feedback etc... I am always available. There is central heat in the winter and A/C in the summer. I have extra pillows if you'd like, and extra blankets if needed. I am very laid back and want all of my guests to feel at home. I have basic kitchen utensils, but I love to cook so I most likely have everything you need in my house. So please ask me and I shall provide if and when I can :) We hope you choose us! Public transportation is easy from the meeker house. The 37 Bus from terminal (A) and (C)leaves you 2 blocks away. The 107 bus takes you to NYC port authority Directly in Time square. Metlife is 20 mins away. Downtown and prudential is only 10 mins away along with newark Penn which i highly recommend to travel into the city!. I
Beautiful home in a working class neighborhood. Safest area in Newark, corner of weequahic park, where the longest and best running track in the United States is. The bus is very close which leaves you right in time square.
  • Beautiful, clean, cozy, room is the same as in the pictures :) i can recommend it to others :) nice stay!

  • Great cozy place to stay near Newark Airport. I enjoyed NOT having to run into the host though I did text her the first day because I had trouble locating the "Start Check In" on the AIRBNB app to retrieve the house code but literally 1 minute after I sent the text I found it. Alexandra texted back about 5 minutes later but by then I was already in my room. I would definitely stay here again based on the location, price and level of comfort. Pros - Close to airport, price, lock on door, Wi-Fi. Cons - Flight or so of stairs to get to room. 1 bathroom for multiple guest.

  • Plenty available street parking.

  • This place was great for an overnight layover. I arrived late (after 1 AM) and was easily able to check myself in. Everything was clean and comfortable and the place had all the basic amenities I needed for the night.

  • Place was nice clean and felt safe. At times the neighborhood felt somewhat scary but was ok overall. My desired destinations were all 10 minutes away and was very convenient. My only problem was when I had a problem with my ac and took a few hours to even get a response back other than that, it’s a great place to stay.

PLEASE READ THE HOUSE RULES BEFORE YOU BOOK THE ROOM. We are a working family that has extra rooms and decided to rent to tourists. The room is in a basement of our house.Room has NO WINDOW,but portable air conditioning, has a kitchen area with microwave, toaster, fridge no stove. The bathroom is shared with one more room that sleeps two people. All the information about what we offer is here, PLEASE READ BEFORE YOU BOOK. PLEASE CHECK THE CHECK IN TIME. ANIMAL LOVER ONLY! WE HAVE DOGS AND CATS
As I said on my summary please read the house rules and house descriptions before you book the room. We are a working family with extra rooms and decided to rent to tourist, due to the fact that we are close to La Guardia Airport. So please do not expect Hotel service, we don't charge like hotels in this area for a reason, so please do not expect the moon if you pay for a room!!!! The room is in a basement of our house and has a private entrance from the backyard and this makes it easy for our guests to come and go at any time they want as long as they are respectful since the place is shared and is our home. The furniture in the room is very basic; bed is very comfortable with some drawers to put your stuff in. We give bath towels but are basic clean and fresh but don't expect fancy towels. We don't offer TV or cable. The apartment has a kitchen area with a microwave, toaster, and big refrigerator to hold whatever you want, if you want to do food shopping for your stay and save some money since New York for food can be very expensive. The bathroom with walking shower is shared with another room!! The room has also air conditioning. As I said to my other rooms listed in Airbnb you must be animal lover to come to our place since we have two dogs and two cats!!!
The neighborhood is very quiet only 15-20 minutes from Manhattan with car, 30-40 minutes with public transportation. The house is 5-10 minutes from highways LIE, Grand Central, Brooklyn Queens Expressway. Public transportation: 7 Train station is 15 minutes walking, 12 minutes by Q72 bus which you take this bus on Junction Blvd one block away from the house. Other buses lines one block away from the house are Q49, this bus will take you to Roosevelt Ave and 75th station, and you can take the following trains: E, F, M, R and 7. The bus will take 15-20 minutes to get to the station. Bus Q66 is in Northern Blvd this will take you to Citi Field and it is 15 minutes away from it. Jackson Heights is a very diversify neighborhood you can find a lot of different kind of food from different ethnicity. Jackson Height is very close from Astoria an upcoming neighborhood close to the city and full of a lot of young people. Basically Jackson Height is considered as Astoria's suburb, very quiet and clean and very very safe, you can walk down the street at any time and you can be sure that nothing will happen, if by any chance something could happen because of course we are in the City, the police station is one block away and they will come within minutes. We have been living in this neighborhood since 2004 and we love each street!!!! And as a guest said to me that she enjoyed walking down the streets smelling the roses bushes :-). Near the house there is a supermarket, it is walking distance but if you plan to buy a lot of stuff for your stay we have the shopping cart for your convenient and it is in the entrance of the house. Two pharmacies are few blocks away, CVS is on Northern Blvd and 89th street and Walgreen is in Astoria Blvd and 94th street. More or less the two pharmacies have the same distances. One block away there are few restaurants and convenient stores, just in case you need little food, cereal, coffee etc.
  • Laura was kind enough to let us in earlier than our check-in time and keep our bags.

    Setu2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Laura was flexible even though I couldn't make it to her place by check in time. The room was small, but comfortable. Laura was very friendly and helpful during our stay.

    Nathan2016-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Laura is a great host, She and her husband help me and respond to my questions fast.

    Christina2018-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Basic accommodations. About a 6 block walk to the subway. Bring your own dish washing liquid. Access to the private door is through the alley way at the rear of the house. This can make you nervous at night if you don't know how to find the gate.

    Carmen2018-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Laura was very flexible with timing. We had to arrive at 2am and she was there, waiting for us and giving all fhe guidance needed. We found a room w/ a good perfum and clean. For the few hours we spent, we had no issues. We appreciated the experience.
