  • Great private space for one person on a budget. Simple, but large, clean, and comfortable. I’ll be coming back.

    Trevor2020-01-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great spot at an even better price. The space is the entire ground floor of a house, with a comfortable single day bed. I had private use of the space over 4 days. The space includes a kitchen, living room and bathroom. Better than many hotels I’ve stayed at, and a great choice given the limited options in the area.

  • Nancy is an amazing host. She is friendly and easy to get a hold of. Her place was spotless and smelt great. Great place if you're just passing through or staying for work. She was extremely accommodating. No issues what to ever. 10/10 recommend

This cozy space was a welcome reprieve at a time when I needed simple and quaint. The hosts in the bistro were amazing souls. We will be back to sip amazing coffee and enjoy the fireplace.

  • Great Breakfast and nice clean place to stay!

    Blaine2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful suite with a truly comfortable bed, great bedding and towels. Really lovely decorating and Meaghan has thought of everything you could need. It does have a wee mini fridge but no other kitchen facilities. However you are above the most delicious coffee house restaurant which was open at 7:30am and didn’t close until 9pm . $30 breakfast provided as part of your rental!! It was delicious and the cafe staff were just very pleasant and so helpful. This makes The Farmhouse Loft a really good value for you $. You cannot go wrong booking this unit provided you do not have mobility issues. There is quite a few stairs to access the suite.

    David2019-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • Loved this place! The most beautiful place to stay in this cute little town. I would recommend this if you are going anywhere in Riding Mountain... 20 mins away from all of the things around you like Clear Lake and the Wishing Well. So cozy!

  • This air b&b is beautiful! A few friends and myself stayed the weekend there and we were very pleased with this cottage/home. We expected a small cottage but were very surprised how spacious it was! it was decorated very nicely and was very comfy and cozy. We had 6 people in our group, and we all fit on the beds except 1 person had to sleep on the couch- which was fine as there were 2 large comfortable couches in the living room. The kitchen is filled with everything you need to cook meals and the house itself was very cute and vintage. Thankyou for your quick responses and beautiful stay!

    Kit2019-08-09T00:00:00Z
  • Aggie had a super cute suite that had 2 separate bedrooms with a private bathroom and kitchenette. We also had use of her wonderful 2nd fl balcony. Breakfast in the morning was made to order! It was perfect for our stay for the night!

    Angela2019-07-24T00:00:00Z
  • Aggie is a well experienced and phenomenal hostess! We came to celebrate our 20th anniversary and Aggie made us delicious heart shaped cakes and strawberries! Aggies breakfasts are to die for! Aggie and Glenn are knowledgeable about the area and helped tailor our visit to the area around our interests. We enjoyed restful sleeps, time out on the beautiful deck and made use of the wonderful coffee station available to guests. We will definitely be returning in the future! Super clean, delightful and warm hosts, lovely food and thoughtful touches!

    Mandy2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Aggie's place. Our boys loved all the extra kids toys and the themed bedroom. Aggie made sure we felt completely at home and breakfast was fabulous. We highly recommend.

    Carina2019-07-05T00:00:00Z
  • Aggie first off was a fantastic cook and treated my colleagues like family. Would highly recommend!!!

    Kathryn2019-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • Aggie (with Glenn) is rated as a super host... and our experience certainly validated that and then some... great hospitality, great food, great amenities, great location... all added up to a 5-star, full-value time away from home! Our only regret is that, due to other events that brought us here, we did not have more opportunity to relax and enjoy our stay here!

  • As I was reading reviews, before booking this place, a person’s comment of the breakfasts caught my eye. The breakfast was absolutely great and the host even better. This is a dream home just off the Hwy 1 and easy to find. The beds were great and we had a great night sleep. We traveled with coolers of food and were able to put our food in the fridge and freezer to keep cold and refreeze our ice packs. We had a wonderful visit with Aggie and learned about their life. She was very welcoming and we felt at home. Would definitely stay here again if in the area.

    Chelsey2019-04-08T00:00:00Z
  • We came into town to attend an event in Brandon and really had not thought much about what type of place we would stay. In the past we've generally stayed in apartments where we only saw the host at check-in, and were not sure what to expect this time. Aggie's place was a wonderful revelation! It was fantastic to get to know our hosts and they provided us with great dining recommendations that, despite their best efforts, could not match Aggie's breakfasts. The space was comfortable, the setting was gorgeous, and the experience was wonderful. During our long drive home we couldn't stop talking about what a great time we had and how happy we were that we were lucky enough to find Aggie's.

    George2019-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely recommend. Great hosts, super friendly, helpful and generous. Had a nice bonfire the evening we arrived. my family was into their home and felt very comfortable. Had an awesome waffle Breakfast with great toppings on the deck. House and space is beautiful. Great stop if you are travelling across our great country.

    Juanita2018-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Aggie's place is absolutely delightful! Great location right off the highway, spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated with comfortable beds and pillows. There's a lovely deck with lots of seating areas, and a gorgeous kitchen where Aggie whips up gourmet breakfasts. A great Airbnb experience!

    Nancy Leah2018-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • Aggie is definitely the hostess with the mostess! Very personable and welcoming. She makes you feel like her home is your home the instant you walk through the doors. I just can't believe the personalized service each one of us in our party of 4 received. This is a 5++ star accommodation that you'll enjoy immensely. And the breakfasts were to die for. Next time we stay we'll see if she does dinners too. We had 2 teens with us and we all know how picky they can be and Wow they loved it too!

    Diane2018-06-17T00:00:00Z
  • Definitely one of the nicest spaces I've stayed in. Absolutely pristine and decorated with love. The beds are comfortable and the house was perfectly quiet to help us get a good night's rest before heading back on the road. Check-in was seamless and Aggie and her husband were there to greet us when we arrived. We didn't get to try the legendary waffle breakfast but Aggie left us lots of delicious home-baked goods, fresh fruit, and eggs. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

Antique furnishings and international accents have been collected from around the world to provide a uniquely tasteful vibe, while hand crafted recycled artworks from Cathy's studio provide just the right touch of whimsy. Enjoy the beautiful, unspoiled vista across the meadow, valley and forest beyond from the open post porch or from the comfort of the dining and living rooms. Both of these rooms boast large, east-facing picture windows that allow in lots of natural light and feature the stunning 180* vista described above.
This neighbourhood is comprised of lovely environmentally conscious people who are kind and respectful. The wild rolling topography of the south mountain itself dictates a certain lifestyle that ensures the preservation of all things natural.
  • Crooked Mountain Cabins exceeded our expectations. Cathy is such a great host and has many thoughtful touches to make you feel welcome. Having our own hiking trail was very cool too! Would highly recommend staying here for a break from the busy city life.

  • I cannot recommend the Fiddlehead cabin enough--it was a truly magical get away! The hiking trail on the property was lovely, and Riding Mountain is a quick drive for more hiking opportunities. Sitting on the porch with a glass of wine in hand, listening to the birds chirp and taking in the view was surreal. Not to mention the sauna was fantastic! This was exactly the kind of trip I needed to relax and recharge my battery. I will definitely be making a trip back in the future!

  • Cathy was amazing!! The Fiddlehead Cabin was great for relaxing in the cute Dr. Seuss sauna, which we used multiple times!! It is nice and quite out there, which is perfect for relaxing. They also supplied games, which did occupy us in the evenings. There is a trail which was great in the mornings, to get some fresh air, we saw 3 deer on the trail. Cathy also has Wifi, for when you do need to reconnect with the real world. If you are looking for a place to get away from it all, then you have to come to the Crooked Mountain Cabins! Thank you so much!!!

  • This is a fantastic spot for those that love and appreciate nature! The cabin was spotless and very comfortable. We were happy to be well situated to Riding Mountain National Park but off the beaten track for privacy and tranquility! Highly recommend, the hosts have done a lovely job and put thought and care into all the details and it shows:)

  • Thanks so much for everything! We're still in awe of the beauty that was around us. You could tell you guys put your hearts and talents into every little detail and it was the perfect little get away. This will always be a special place in our hearts.

  • We absolutely loved our stay on the edge of a meadow. All our stress fell away the instant we saw the view. There is a mowed path leading to the meadow and forest right at the front door. The wildlife is vibrant with flowers grasses trees butterflies birds,... The sauna was a real treat and the cabin was spotless and well appointed. We truly did not need anything more in the well stocked kitchen. We look forward to returning often. Cathy Linda and Teddy were wonderful hosts Thank you

Huffington Post says ‘one of the top ten coziest and coolest getaways in Canada’ ... the Alfalfa Cabin is nestled into the rolling wilderness on the edge of Riding Mountain National Park. This enchanting cabin is fresh and luxurious. Perched on an elevated lookout it features a screened in deck offering a panoramic view of the meadow and forest beyond. Interior walls of white Adobe are decorated with tasteful antique accents. Weekly bookings only (Fri-Fri) are accepted during July and August.
Very private and surrounded by nature. There’s a 2.1 km hiking trail that leads from your door across the wildflower meadow and through a majestic spruce forest. Comfy wicker furniture inside the screened deck and a 180* panoramic view makes it perfect for spotting an abundance of wildlife including the resident Great Grey Owl. Quiet country roads provide excellent biking possibilities nearby as well as access to the meandering creek to the south. Nature enthusiasts, writers, artists and peace-loving people just love it here. We also provide cabin games as well as yard games such as bocci, croquet, and sandbags for family fun. The many splendours of Riding Mountain National Park are just a short scenic drive away ... making this scenario simply ‘the best of both worlds’.
Our neighbours on Pacey Lake Road are all lovely, peaceful and respectful. Country tree lined roads are perfect for biking and hiking and the creek at the foot of the road is great for fishing. There’s also a backroad entrance into the Park from here that we’ll be pleased to point out to you.
  • Wonderful property to hide away from reality. The cottage and the service were perfect. Highly recommend staying here. Easy to find and quite close the the park.

  • The Alfalfa Cabin at Crooked Mountain cabins was an amazing experience! The cabin was spotless, and fresh cut flowers were on the table when we arrived. Linda and Cathy are so helpful and eager to please. The decor of the cabin is lovely, the beds are comfy and the bamboo sheets are devine! We are thrilled to have found this idyllic getaway so close to home, we will definitely be back soon! Barb and Colin

Featured by the Huffington Post as one of the top ten 'coolest and coziest' cabin rentals in Canada ... the Meadowsweet Cabin is a nature lover's paradise. This charming and eclectic cabin offers a panoramic view of the meadow, valley and spruce woodlands beyond and has the benefit of a private groomed trail that starts right at the front door and meanders through the forest for a gentle 2.1 km hike. Enjoy wildlife from your elevated screened porch, full of comfy wicker furniture and a large BBQ. The large grassy yard that surrounds the cabin is perfect for family and group games. ( bocci, sandbags, etc. are supplied). A popular fishing creek is just a short walk down the road for those who partake ... and the great grey owl often entertains guests in the deck with frequent fly by's. Located just 15-20 minutes from beautiful Riding Mountain National Park, guests get to enjoy the best of both worlds. After a full and busy day spent enjoying the many splendours that the park has to offer, many guests comment that they are so happy to escape the congestion of the Clear Lake townsite and return home to their peaceful cabin in the hills ... sip a glass of wine, prepare a delicious meal, and watch the sun go down. Inside this four bedroom cabin you will find everything that you need for comfort. It is not only meticulously clean but offers a fully equipped kitchen, living room, and dining area. It features new flooring throughout and is tastefully decorated with a mix of modern and antique furniture and artwork. The bathroom features both a shower and a bathtub, sink/vanity and flush toilet. There is also a brand new clean outhouse located behind the cabin, just in case someone is taking too long in the shower:). Each room has its own ceiling fan and screened windows for cooling off on hot summer nights and the bedside tables are equipped with excellent reading lamps. The owners are friendly and attentive when you need them and have thought of everything to make your holiday easy. Basically all that you need to supply is your own food and drink. All the little things are provided such as salt, pepper, sugar, plastic wrap, tinfoil, paper towel, Kleenex, dish soap, bar soap, coffee filters ... as well as towels, bedding and blankets. Generally once guests have experienced the Meadowsweet Cabin once, they claim that they'd never want to stay anywhere else! This cabin is priced for six people at $350./night with an additional charge of $30./person/night with a maximum capacity of eight. Normally 2-3 night minimum bookings are accepted with a preference to weekly bookings (from Fridays to Fridays) for the summer months of July and August. All enquiries however are considered and welcomed!
This is one of just four cabins that constitute 'Crooked Mountain Cabins'. The Meadowsweet is situated at the south end of the resort, with the advantage of being close to the forest's edge. It is nicely buffered by trees between the next cabin which is over 200' away. If you are wanting to explore Rididng Mountain National Park without staying in the congested townsite, then this is your best bet. These are really the only cabins close to the Park that offer a natural experience where you can enjoy peace and quiet.
  • Lovely private cabin with own trail. Great outhouse. Really appreciated all the extra towels and tea towels as there were 8 of us

  • I have to say this is the best trip I have ever had. Cathy is very responsive and warm-hearted, she had gave us useful and valuable suggestions for planning our trip. The cabin is very clean and convenient. It has the best location and we were lucky to see the Milky Way and Aurora during the trip. • Our stay at the cabin was nothing short of magical! It had all the things we needed and was a great get-away from the busy city! The path behind the cabin is so nice - the perfect length and lots to see along the way! We were sad to have to check out and would have loved to have stayed longer!

    Kathleen2017-10-09T00:00:00Z
  • A quaint cabin in the meadow that is very clean, well stocked with towels, blankets( the nights got much colder than expected!), games, and pretty much anything you need. Great walking path from the door and the screen room was a definite favourite. The drive into Clear Lake was about 20 min. Not that difficult, and was scenic. Wouldn't want to do it many times in the day but is not a deal breaker. We really enjoyed it and would recommend it to people who want to get away from it all, after a long day at the park.

  • We were looking for a secluded get-a-way close to Riding Mountain National Park and came across the Crooked Mountain Cabins website. It had everything we were looking for. The setting was peaceful and quiet. The cabin was clean and well-equipped. The host was friendly and gave us good tips on how to maximize our chances of seeing the local wildlife. A very nice place to retreat after spending the day hiking the trails in the park. David & Sara
