This unique log cottage has a very warm feel and the interior is beautifully decorated. You will find all of the comforts of home here including a large, fully equipped kitchen, laundry and a whirlpool tub. Enjoy the many seating areas around the property including a hammock, large sun drenched docks and a fantastic covered porch where you can enjoy your meals while taking in the picturesque lake views. A canoe and paddle boat are provided throughout your stay.
Loon Lake is a gorgeous mid size lake just 10 minutes from Gravenhurst. The Gravenhurst area offers tons of great activities to enjoy, including: a weekly Farmer's Market, world-class golf at Muskoka Bay, waterfront dining at Dock of the Bay and Boston Pizza, the historic Muskoka Steamships, Sawdust City Brewery (bingo and trivia night), Peter's Players concert theatre, antique stores and other great local shops. The lake is just 1.5 hours from Toronto. Enjoy more time on the dock and less time in traffic!
  • This is our second visit to Stephen’s cottage. It was so hard to leave when it was time to check out. The dock gets sunshine all day long and the dock is right on the most amazing warm and clean water to swim in. It rained one morning and we just sat in their beautiful big living room watching the rain through their stunning floor to ceiling windows. We cooked and feasted in their beautiful big kitchen- it’s stocked with everything you need. This place is beautifully decorated, clean and cozy. It truly felt like home. The hosts were welcoming and were so helpful. We can’t wait to return.

  • Excellent accommodations! Lots of indoor/ outdoor seating areas. Clean and open concept. Very comfortable beds. We spent most of our time on the sun drenched dock. Great for a family getaway - we thoroughly enjoyed our time and would highly recommend.

  • Steve was extremely quick in responding to any questions we had before our trip and offered a detailed summary to ensure we would make the most of our stay. His place was absolutely beautiful and completely surpassed our expectations- he had everything waiting for us (towels, paper towel, dish soap etc) so we didn’t have to pack extra. I can’t wait to go again.

    Justine2019-07-07T00:00:00Z
  • Where to start!? Everything about this cottage was exceptional! Starting with Glen and Stephen’s hospitality who went out of their way to answer all of our questions before our arrival promptly, to helping us move our luggage to the cottage on arrival. The cottage itself belongs on the cover of a magazine - spotless, beautifully decorated wth a Canadiana flare, all the amenities you could want! (E.g coffee maker/nesperesso machine, fridge by the dock!, A/C, Bluetooth speaker, plastic glasses for the docks). They really thought of everything. The cabin gets afternoon sunlight, but is very private, the perfect combination. Best part is, you get sun all day long on the dock and the lake is warm. I would 1000% book to stay here again! Only have positive things to say about this place and Glen and Stephen.

    Lori2019-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • this property is absolutely breathtaking! private and cozy with so many great spots to relax in. great views from the house deck, hammock or lounging on the dock. we had sun all day on the dock and the water was SO BEAUTIFUL and clear. the water was such a comfortable temperature to swim in. the hosts were so helpful and quick to respond to any of our questions. this week we spent at Stephens cottage was the highlight of our summer. we cannot wait to return and we hope to make it a yearly tradition to spent a week on this property.

  • I’ve stayed at Tom’s property previously and while it is always incredible, my visit during the pandemic was exceptional. Tom’s space is so comfortable and peaceful it gave me the getaway I needed. Tom’s place is always spotless however during these times he went the extra mile and left the appropriate cleaning supplies and told me to use as much as needed to feel comfortable. He practiced social distancing at check in and check out .... his efforts were welcomed. Highly recommend Tom’s place even though it causes a challenge for me to book when he’s so popular 🙂

  • Was a great place to stay, very clean and organized! Also a spectacular view.

  • Everything about our stay was wonderful. Tom was so lovely to meet and he respected our privacy during our entire stay. The cottage was spotless and very cozy. Everything we would've needed was provided for us and we really appreciated the extra brochures he left out! We would definitely stay here again :)

    Jenia2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful & romantic getaway spot! We liked it so much the first night that we decided to extend our stay! 10/10 would recommend! We’ll definitely remember this place next time we want to stay in Gravenhurst :)

    Emma2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I decided to stay at Tom’s place this winter and I am beyond thankful we did. Not only is Tom’s home even more beautiful in person, but his kindness and hospitality made the experience even better (especially getting to meet his dog). The cottage is close to town and all necessities, and is the perfect relaxing get away for any couple or individual. I can’t wait to come back, and definitely plan to. Do yourself a favour and book this cottage ASAP.

The cottage has a nice private setting as part of a parcel of land which is almost 20 acres along the Muskoka River, close to 3 waterfalls and on the Trans Canada Trail. You’ll love our place because of the access to many trails for hiking, yet only a few minutes to downtown Bracebridge and central to most Muskoka Attractions. To really enjoy the river location you need to love walking and exploring. The cottage is offered in its pre-renovation state as the pictures indicate.
  • Lana's place was quaint, and the waterfalls nearby are gorgeous. She was very helpful and communicated quickly about places to see nearby. Very close to bracebridge and other beautiful nature/waterfalls. Thanks Lana!

    Shrujal2020-04-04T00:00:00Z
  • Lana is a warm and wonderful host. The house is huge and well stocked with everything needed for a great family getaway. She has thought of everything and this makes staying here, such a delight. We were here for our second time and will come back again for sure, hopefully twice or more every year. The waterfall is literally across the street and there is so much beauty and nature available within minutes of the property. Also, the downtown with all the shopping stores, is just 6 minutes away, as well as a hospital around the corner. Amazing location!

    Jeremy & Hailey2020-04-01T00:00:00Z
  • The place is very clean, hiking trails abound, and river is stone throw away, (bring your fishing gear)or if you just want to enjoy a quiet moment away from the hustle and bustle this is a perfect place, highly recommended. Ps. Host Lana and Brian are wonderful.

    Nestor2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • A very peaceful cottage with a beautiful view. Lana made us feel welcomed to her placer with all that we could need during our stay. The house has a room for a big family, a fire place with a river view. Also a fire pit, snowshoes, and another items that added value to the outdoor experience! We would be back for sure!

  • Amazing

    Nav2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Lana's spot very much exceeded our already high expectations. The spot is absolutely gorgeous right across from the river and beautiful hiking trails. The property is large and beautiful with a great hill for sledding. Inside the cottage is very spacious, bright, and clean. The kitchen has all the amenities you might need. There are windows everywhere providing a great view of the river and warm sunshine in the morning. The fireplace is the perfect place to relax day and night. We've never felt so relaxed and we never wanted to leave. Would 100% rent again.

Located in Muskoka Lakes on the spectacular Trent Severn Waterway 1.5 hours North of Toronto. Perfect for boating, water skiing, tubing, canoeing, swimming and fishing Open concept main living area, gourmet kitchen with double oven. Muskoka/Games room with cathedral ceilings. Gorgeous deck with a panoramic view of the Severn River. Boat Rentals are available at Tamarack Park and Marina for very reasonable rates

  • Staying at John's cottage was an amazing experience for our party! The cottage is right on the water and after you walk out the front doors the deck overlooks the firepit and Severn River. The house is an open style concept with living room and kitchen, great for many people to spend time together. There is also a Florida-style room which is screened in. This area has a very nice breeze coming through that was very nice to play games around the table. We enjoyed our time on the beautiful deck which you can jump off into the river. John provided us with 2 kayaks as well which we loved using during the day. They also provide you with many dishes and cups so you aren't required to bring plastic plates and cups. There is also many pots and pans to use for cooking in the kitchen and there is also a big Weber barbecue on the deck that was perfect for cooking for the 8 of us. John provided us with numbers for water taxis, but there was also the boat that they included, however we had trouble starting it (no problem as the water taxi picked us right up at the property). The only thing I would recommend is bringing a few extra garbage bags in case you run out. Also bring oil for cooking but John provides Pink Himalayan sea salt and fresh black pepper for seasoning. We brought a few different board games to play when the sun went down. Overall, the property is beautiful and we had an amazing weekend. If you are a group of friends looking to rent a cottage for the weekend I would highly recommend staying at this waterfront property. Just make sure you come stocked and then there is no reason to leave the cottage!

    Matt2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • We rented John’s cottage for my sisters bachelorette weekend and it was amazing! Very spacious, beautiful dock on the water, and very clean! John was amazing with communication from the moment we booked the cottage until we left! He provided us contacts for water taxi’s and made himself available for any transportation needs throughout the weekend. We would 100% go back and definitely recommend John’s cottage!

    Clare2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • It was a beautiful spot for swimming and resting in a quiet Area. The kitchen and appliances were useful. Barbeque area and fireplace was extra fun for kids and guests.

  • Great place! Great house! We had a wonderful time!

    Christine2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • We rented the cottage for a full week to hang out as a family. There was nine of us (8 adults & an infant) and it handled us well. A real nice spot that met all of our expectations.

  • The cottage was awesome to be in. The location, the waterway, the atmosphere. Perfect setting for a weekend stay. The cottage was very clean and the accommodations were fantastic. Would definitely want to come back again. Thanks for having us John!

  • Thanks again John, Cheryl, & Ashley! My friends and I had a great trip at your cottage that we will never forget! Some things I loved about my trip: 1. The cottage is exactly what you expect when you see the picture which I appreciate. 2. Lots of room for friends and family. 3. The communication from the hosts to guests. 4. The lake was beautiful; warm enough to swim, great fishing, & they provide a boat which helps if you have a lot of people like we did 5. The restaurant on the water. Thanks again guys :)

  • Great place to stay! Highly recommended it. The surroundings were beautiful and with a friendly community Me and my friends decided to make the trip last minute and everything went according to plan

    Maria2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • Patrick's place was such an excellent spot to stay!!! It's a bit smaller than it looks online, but very cozy and it has a nice big open living room that doesn't feel crowded at all for 6 people. Everything was clean and the beds were very comfortable. The kitchen has everything you'd need for simple cooking, and the wood stove in there is great. The properly is awesome, it is quite private but Patrick's place is only a short walk through the woods away, and he is very quick to respond to any requests. We had a couple extra guests coming last minute and he appreciated our honesty in requesting for an accommodation of more people than the specified maximum of the property, was very reasonable, and even brought over some extra blankets to make sure we would all be comfortable. Thanks so much Patrick!

  • Perfect cabin right on the water, our weekend felt very blissful at the beach house. The view, the design of the cabin, the location...pictures really don't do it justice! Checking in/out was easy, Sarah responded quickly to my messages and was very friendly. We were able to use the water toys and life jackets, the peddle boat was so much fun to take out on the water! The beach house had all the cookware you could possibly need. There's also a firepit located between the beach house and the water. Extremely clean and cozy, the beds and couches were so comfy. Amazing stay! I would highly recommend the beach house to others.

    Rachel2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing stay at Beach Cottage. It was exactly what we were looking for in a holiday spot. The cabin is bright and clean, with comfy beds, and steps from a beautiful sandy beach. The property is a short drive too many shops, restaurants, and places to explore. Sarah is a lovely host - kind, thoughtful, and a pleasure to deal with. We are already planning our next stay.

    Jenn2019-09-21T00:00:00Z

  • This place is incredible! AND THERE IS NOW A BRAND NEW HOT TUB!!!! Very clean & well-kept place, super stylish & cute. I love how secluded it is. Has everything you would ever need for a perfect getaway from the world. The hot tub at sunset was so romantic & beautiful. The fireplace inside kept the box so cozy & you never have to worry about running out of firewood, as the hosts keep tons on site. The BBQ was very convenient to cook dinner on. The toaster & kettle were perfect for breakfast. The hosts even had coffee/tea to choose from. The toilet is such a cool, easy to use organic alternative (if you’re worried about having issues like I was when reading, don’t worry at all it’s so easy to use & is barely any different from a normal toilet). You will never have to worry about getting bored here either. There’s tons of stuff to do in Huntsville & it felt like a 5 minute drive to downtown. We enjoyed the hiking/walking trails nearby. If you happen to be stuck inside due to weather, the hosts were kind enough to have a box of games to enjoy as well. Overall, I could go on & on about how awesome this place is for a perfect getaway! I will definitely be back!

Perfectly cozy with all you really need for a simplistic venture into the woods. Garth and Rebecca were super easy to connect with and helpful.

    Cameron2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! We had an incredible time at the Aux Box! The space is very relaxing and feels super secluded. Don’t forget your flashlight! Also, beware of getting up the hill to go into town. You’ll need a great set of snow tires if you’re visiting in the winter. Thanks for everything, I’m sure we’ll be back!

  • Paul's place was as described and more! A cabin with all of the amenities on a beautiful lake. Great place to enjoy paddling on the water :) we will definitely come back when wehave the time!! Thank you Paul!!

  • My fiancé and I stayed at Paul’s place during the week of October 20th. We had an absolute blast and couldn’t have been happier with our entire experience. Our interaction with Paul was great and he was very quick to respond. The space itself was just as described. It had everything we needed and more! At night the temperatures dropped below 0 degrees. This was not an issue as the cabin was well insulated and a propane space heater was provided. I am looking forward to staying at this Airbnb in the future ! Thanks Paul!

  • If you're looking to get away from city life and want a nice, quiet, peaceful place to stay, this place is perfect.

  • Had a surreal past few days at this cabin! Everything was perfect. Lovely little cabin decorated so nicely! There are lots of sitting areas to choose from with beautiful views. If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway this place is perfect. Access to the tin boat and canoe made our visit that much more special! We were able to fish and explore the lake! Paul was an amazing host and extremely easy to contact. Highly recommend this place! Definitely will be back again!

    Jessica2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • Paul's place was perfect. Communication great and he was helpful with check in. Gave us a quick tutorial on using the boat, propane heated shower (which was amazing) and propane heater (as we were there in Oct). It was incredibly relaxing, private, cozy, clean and had an unbelievably beautiful view as the fall colours were coming in. We canoed, kayaked and just enjoyed the peaceful outdoors.

    Laura2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • Cute cabin on a beautiful lake. Definitely a dream spot for a quiet, remote getaway. Having access to the boat and canoe was great - exploring the small lake was a lot of fun. We had pretty cold, windy weather so were happy to have our big down jackets and own sleeping bags! Would love to come back to this spot in the summer time. The cabin has all the basics for cooking, and a few fire spots outside, which was great. Take a head torch for midnight trips to the outhouse! And mosquito spray too!

    Charlie2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is a great getaway on a pristine lake. Paul is a pro at hosting on the site. We cant wait to go back!

Our place is right on the water with a lovely view and is close to several hiking trails. Property is located in a quiet and fairly secluded area but is minutes away from town, very close to grocery stores, LCBO, and several lovely little shops. Our place is best suited for couples or solo adventurers looking for a quiet retreat on the water. We have a 2-person canoe that our guests are welcome to use.
The cottage is a duplex and this apartment is one of two separate (but attached) self-contained living spaces. We have a BBQ for our guests to use and provide tea and coffee for our guests. We provide bedding and house towels. There's no air conditioning but we provide a fan.
  • Nadia and Marianne’s cozy cottage was exactly that. Perfect for two people and even though it was a duplex it was still very private. Very close to town and the shared dock was just steps down from the cozy cottage. Very helpful with accommodating us for our check in and gave us directions which helped make our check in stress free and easy. Thank you very much for a lovely experience.

  • My lucky streak with Airbnb’s continues as this place is amazing! It is what was described and Nadia was so nice! I definitely recommend this place.

    Cathy2019-09-05T00:00:00Z
  • Nadia and Marianne were both great hosts and the place is exactly as expected, was perfect for us. We flew in early via Porter, Nadia took our stuff into their place and when we came back a few hours later, everything was neatly placed in our unit. Highlights: - place is exactly as it looks, a bit nicer than the pictures. - big patio/balcony, overlooking the lake - sun rises on other side, straight across...very nice place to sit with a drink at any time of day. - bbq works great; we don't smoke so no lighter or matches but the igniter works! Rare. - used both the kayak and canoe; a bit tippy, but, if you go over, which we didn't, the lake is pretty shallow so you can walk out quite a ways, and they have life vests at the house; head left and go up to Gull Lake Rotary Park where there's a nice beach and park area. - quiet - very relaxing stay! - wifi: works outside if you walk over to the table on the way down to the lake, nice place to sit; doesn't work inside or on balcony so for playing music/etc. you'll need your own setup. - location - right on the lake, nice and quiet and only 10-15min walk into Gravenhurst with lots of good shops, bars and restaurants, such as: Sawdust City for quite a range of craft beers (not our thing but tried a flight), Albion Tavern (dive bar with two pool tables), Oar Rest. has live music some nights, General Store has great homemade pizzas and pies, etc. to take home; 10min walk to other side of town is more touristy on Lake Muskoka, with a couple of big bars/restos, boardwalk, farmers market on Wed.; we highly recommend the steamships tour, which was a beautiful cruise out into the lake for a couple of hours with some good history. good selection of reasonably-priced beers on board. Overall, highly recommended. We hope to go back!

  • Great location, lovely responsive hosts, large clean rooms, warm swimming, gorgeous views. A rare chance to book a cottage per night in summer. Just note that you can hear everything your neighbours say on the attached next door deck of the duplex, and louder chatting from the dock and fire pit area. Otherwise it’s amazing.

    Laila2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great location for a relaxing weekend. Nadia is a wonderful host, she met us upon check-in and wasn't intrusive at all during our stay. She advised that we were free to use her private dock on Gull Lake as well as Kayak and Canoe. The property has a patio overlooking Gull Lake with spectacular sunrise views.

  • A beautiful, clean, and private space to spend a few days away from the city. Literally a two minute drive to a grocery store, lcbo, and other amenities. Very cute space with gorgeous views from the main living area. Nadia was readily available and responded to our questions immediately. Cannot recommend Nadia’s cottage enough to couples or individuals looking to get away for a while. You will not regret booking!!!!

  • David’s cottage was the perfect setting for our family gathering! All amenities were in working order and plenty of glasses, dishes and pots and pans are provided. Most of our time was spent outdoors enjoying the spectacular views and sunsets. Enjoying meals outdoors on the large table was perfect or simply lounging on the comfy couch overlooking the bay. Being so close to Port Carling was advantageous as we brought our boat and the launch was only 5 minutes away. We enjoyed having use of the stand up boards as well! David was quite thorough with the description of the cottage and there was no need to contact him during our stay.

    Jerry2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • My family and I had the pleasure of staying at this beautiful cottage and could not have been happier with the space and location. David was a great host who was available with quick responses to all of my questions. I would caution anyone with older guests that the couches in the living space are VERY low to the ground and can be difficult to get out of. We moved the futon into the living room which was perfect for our family. Would highly recommend staying at this beautiful cottage.

    Bryan2019-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • David is a very thoughtful and responsive host. He also helped us with some special requests we had. The place itself is awesome. Both the cottage itself and all the surroundings. Great location. Hope to visit the place again some day.

  • An awesome place, lovely modern cottage, quiet, yet super close to Port Carling. Hard to find a better place than this.

    Cristiana2019-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely property close to the water with lots to do whether it’s swimming, hanging on the docks, playing games, bbq or just enjoying the beautiful sunset while kayaking. The view is amazing at both sunrise and sunset. The house was a good size for our family of six. We enjoyed lunch/dinner on the outdoor dining table, slept in the hammock and spent every night around the fire pit. Surprisingly, there wasn’t many mosquitos. It was a great getaway. Thanks for an awesome trip.

    Allana2019-06-28T00:00:00Z
  • The property for this cottage is even better than the photos. We would definitely look to book again!

    Andrew2019-06-22T00:00:00Z
  • A cottage week on Lake Rosseau is a perfect vacation. This is property is situated on a quiet bay, a short hop on water or walk to the town of Port Carling. Our favourite was the sunsets; the cottage faces west, each night the sun would set across the bay in the most spectacular way. Followed by the stars. It was a warm week, water temps were great! Each room has ceiling fan and good ventilation so sleeping was a breeze (literally).

  • My husband and I had a great time at Melanie & Dave’s cabin! It was the perfect cozy, tranquil and secluded escape in the heart of the Muskoka’s and had everything we needed. During the days we enjoyed sitting by the fire or going for a hike at the nearby Skeleton Lake trail. We also took their recommendation and prepared food ahead of time which made meals quick and easy. Would definitely recommend their cottage to friends and look forward to going to the cabin in the warmer months.

In search of privacy, stunning views, beautiful natural waterfront and outstanding accommodation? This impressive architect owned and designed cottage delivers. Watch heron fly into the wetlands or otter swim by. Relax ... you have found "Serenity".
On Otter Lake, we frown on the noise and pollution from boat motors so only canoes, kayaks, sail boats and paddle boats can be seen albeit infrequently. The dock out to deeper water allows for swimming and diving or watercraft mooring. A winding granite lane sweeps down to the cottage/home's entrance courtyard where glimpses of the lake around and through the home can be seen. The cottage/home sits on an exposed plateau of the Canadian Shield at the base of a point within meters of the lake on one side and a bay on the other. Your attention will be captured as soon as the front door opens and you enter the foyer. Twenty five foot high floor to ceiling windows with 8' high and 7' wide sliding patio doors, flanking a granite clad Rumford wood burning fireplace, offer a magnificent outlook up Otter Lake and across Serenity Bay. The stone tile floor sets off the majestic fireplace that features hand cut and split granite stone. This lovely space will embrace winter visitors who want to relax in front of the fire while the snow gently drifts down outside, just as much as those cooling down after a day of summer fun. The Great Room also features a centrally located docking station for your iPhone or iPad that allows you to channel your music through the speaker system or use the built-in iPad or Blu-Ray DVD/CD player to control the 55' Samsung Smart TV or listen to an array of Satellite radio stations. The Dining/Kitchen area, within the Great Room, comfortably seats 10 at the extra-large harvest table and 4 at the kitchen island with direct access to the large outdoor Lake Terrace. The Lakeside Terrace is well appointed with teak chaise loungers alongside complimentary chairs and features a large direct connect gas BBQ, no need to worry about the propane supply! What a great place to relax with a morning coffee or that after dinner drink. With its prominent location adjacent to the Dining Room, the oversized sliding doors equipped with screens create a seamless indoor/outdoor environment for family and friend gatherings. For that late evening bonfire, the Lakeside Terrace also features a natural Rumford fireplace that backs onto the indoor Rumford. The 10' wide and 27' high overhanging roof protects the terrace from light showers. Or go down to the point and the dock where a fire pit sits atop a piece of the Canadian Shield. The Chef's kitchen is designed with the professional cook in mind and features a 12' Brazilian granite slab island so all can enjoy getting involved or sit and watch the "chef" at work. The kitchen has been designed to accommodate a gas cooktop, microwave/convection oven combo unit, dishwasher, wine and beverage cooler along with a wide range of top name small appliances. Just off to the side of the Great Room is a comfortable Muskoka Room, perfect for playing games, watching TV or curling up with a good book. The oversized screened patio doors allow this room useful access to the outdoors in both summer and winter. Continuing on down the hall in the West Wing there are two large bedrooms, each with a spectacular view of the lake and highlights a queen size bed and bunk beds in each room? Also in the West Wing is a 4-piece Bathroom with a vessel sink on a marble vanity. The Loft overlooks the Great Room with a ping-pong table, yoga mats, weights for light exercise, a lovely view of the lake on one side and features a 20' high dormer window with a gorgeous view of the forest beyond on the other side. On this same level, also overlooking the Great Room, is a fourth Bedroom with a king size bed and Ensuite Bathroom with an oversized walk-in shower with rain head, massaging jets and sliding glass door. Back on the main level just off of the entrance making it central to the entire house is a fully equipped Laundry Room complete with washer, dryer, utility sink and ironing board. The Master Bedroom is on the main floor in the East Wing and features a king size bed, Scandinavian high-efficiency wood burning stove, a large walk-in closet area and a spectacular Ensuite Bathroom with trough style wash basin, oversized walk-in shower with rain head and massaging jets. This very private side of the home provides spectacular views across the bay and down into the wetlands, even from the washroom and shower, again, meters from the water's edge where wildlife abounds. This stunning property is accessible and enjoyable year round, so by all means take advantage of the warmer weather, an autumn blast of colour or a winter wonderland. "Serenity" provides enjoyment all year round with something special throughout each season.
What do we love about 'Serenity'? The solitude and tranquility. One only has to set foot on the property and you feel the stress drain from your body. 'Serenity' is very grounding.
  • Very unique cottage and great location.

  • Modern, fully-stocked home in a very quiet location. About 10 minute drive to downtown Huntsville should you need groceries, dinner. Colin was easy to reach and we appreciated him showing us around the home at check-in. We enjoyed sitting in living room with roaring fire. Kitchen is modern with everything you can imagine. Comfy beds, fluffy towels and bathroom amenities. Internet/wifi reception is strongest in the living room, but there is satellite tv and many DVDs in den to watch.

    Daniela2020-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • This place was amazing and it looked better than the pictures. I would highly recommend coming here. The beds were comfortable, the place was extremely clean, and the views were amazing.

  • What a wonderful place to end/start a year. We stayed at Serenity for the holidays and we didn’t want to leave. We had a fantastic time, everything either matched the description or exceeded our expectations. Highly recommend.

  • Serenity was a perfect place for our family to spend the Christmas holidays. Colin greeted us when we arrived and had a roaring fire and everything decorated for Christmas. That was such a pleasant surprise. The place is immaculate and well-appointed. The beds are comfortable and linens/towels were provided. The kitchen is fully stocked and well organized. Colin has thought of everything. We spent a day at Arrowhead Provincial Park and loved the Skate Trail, hiking trails and x-country skiing. The park provides rentals. We also enjoyed Huntsville with great stores (Algonquin Outfitters is amazing) and restaurants. Just one note about the sleeping accommodations is the upper floor bedroom is open to the living area and not conducive to the "early to bed/late risers". We enjoyed our time and Colin was the perfect host.

  • Beautiful house in a beautiful location.

    Gina2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • Colin has rightfully earned his “super host” status for creating such a beautiful, peaceful, cozy, like home, space. He greeted us upon arrival so he could give us a tour of the home and showed us everything we needed to know for the duration of our stay. His home is well equipped with any and everything you could possibly need while staying there - a wide selection of games, movies, all kitchen utensils you could need if you enjoy cooking/baking e.t.c. The place was very clean, towels and linens smelled fresh and were good quality. The house was very organized and things like the garbage bins, light switches, were labelled so you didn’t have to do a lot of guessing. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and look forward to going back in the summer. If you’re thinking about staying here, stop thinking, just book it. You won’t regret it! Maya

  • The house is awesome and everything the ad stated was true. We had a few couples for a wedding and we all had a great time! Beautiful home on the lake. Definitely recommended to others.

  • Overall it's a good and new house with great lake view. Kitchen and bathrooms were clean, but we were disappointed with the bedrooms and common areas being full of dust. The internet is super slow. Getting in and out of the house would be a hassle with the kids as it sits on a ramp covered with gravel. I would advise to be careful with the entry way steps as well.

    Grace2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, thoughtfully designed space with a stunning view! We had a gorgeous family weekend with our 2 young babies at Blair’s beautiful cottage and would go back in a heartbeat. We had originally booked her other cottage, but there was a mixup and Blair got us settled in the new one without a problem. We were so pleased when we arrived and she was extremely helpful and quick to respond with any questions we had. Soon we were enjoying a crackling fire and settled in for a weekend of short hikes, meals cooked in the gourmet kitchen, snuggles in front of the tv and restful sleep. The boys were taken care of as there were plenty of toys, books, a high chair, crib, kids dishes and Blair even had an activity mat for our 6 month old brought in! I wouldn’t hesitate to book this place again - thanks for a wonderful stay!

  • A gorgeous, modern space for adults to cook and catch up. Lovely views of the lake and large dock to sit out on. All large bedrooms and 3 baths were very comfortable for our group of 8. Quick drive into town if you miss anything, and pop by the Kawartha Dairy. Would definitely come back again, as the communication was great before our stay . Thank you for having us!

Built into a forested hill beside a river, with a sleeping loft and in-floor radiant heating in a granite flagstone floor, a kitchenette and a three piece washroom, the studio is the perfect place to relax, rejuvenate or retreat into creative work.
Whispering River Studio Retreat is just 10 minutes from Parry Sound and located in a woods of old growth white pine, maple, oak and birch, on the banks of the Seguin River. In spring the scent of flowering crab and apple trees, wild roses, lilacs and pin cherries fill the air. Fall features gorgeous colour on the hills, and nearby hikes feature views of the rocks and cliffs that make this area famous throughout September, October, November and early December. Winter is beautiful too - the season of retreat and rejuvenation is filled with pristine vistas - and lots of snow for the dedicated snowshoe-er or cross country skier! Georgian Nordic X-country ski trails are only 15 minutes away, and can be used in the summer for hiking as well. If you want to enjoy a community Christmas, come and experience the many, many local activities centered around this warm and friendly time of year. You are welcome to relax in the loft, the house's screened in porch, or on the studio porch or the look out and enjoy the gentle whisper of the river, or the wind in the pines. A short walk by the river is beloved by most guests - especially in the mornings when the mist often streams of the water. There is a Heintzman upright grand piano in good condition the house that you are welcome to use. My baby grand in a nearby gallery is also available for rehearsals, workshops and concerts upon arrangement. During the summer the Festival of the Sound at the Stocky Center is home to an International Classical Music Festival. String Quartets, classical and contemporary concert music artists grace the stage, and provide unparalleled musical inspiration for people drawn from all over the world. I have a propane gas stove, washer and dryer, and will provide you with bedding. There is also a BBQ available for use if you want to cook outside. The Seguin River flows swiftly to Mountain Basin Lake - a short 15 minute paddle from the house. You can take trips in either direction. There is excellent canoeing ( although in late August and September the water is very low - but it is still well worth doing the two or three lift-over through shallows), hiking, cross- country skiing, snowshoeing, fishing and hunting nearby. Deer Run Golf Course, a beautiful informal course with a waterfall in its backyard, is just across the road.
Parry Sound is a thriving town. Boat tours, a major classical music festival, and a wide variety of summer and winter sports are centered here. Tours, hikes, skiing, snowshoeing, canoeing, kayaking, sailing and water sports, and scenic drives are part of everyday activities for guests in this area. The rugged beauty of Georgian Bay is close at hand, and Canadian Shield country lakes and rivers are here to explore. There is Nordic skiing in the winter, and lots of great winter activities. It truly is a place for all seasons!
  • Brenda's place was awesome! I was visiting with a friend, and we had so much room to just lay about and to work. Not too far from some great trails and parks, even though we couldn't do too much of that during this trip (Mostly due to the weather and a lack of proper gear); we hope to be back in warmer conditions to explore the area further.

    Shad2020-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • By far the most peaceful relaxing atmosphere I have ever experienced

    Robert2020-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • I spent three nights at the Whispering River working on a writing project. The space is tranquil, open, and inspiring and I was able to get some really great work done while there. During my breaks I went on walks along the river with my dog Humber and Brenda recommended some excellent trails/Provincial Parks nearby for some more long-distance mid-day walk. My dog Humber was equally pleased by those! Overall it was a great experience and lovely space and I definitely would recommend it to folks - and I hope to book again some time in the future.

  • Great place in a great location.

    Timothy2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place, Brenda is an amazing host as well. We came down from our apartment expecting a nice quiet time and even though we had some weather and car troubles, Brenda went out of her way to help us get to her location and get safely home. I’ve never experienced such top in class hospitality and I would recommend this place to anyone. Not just for the views but for the fact that you will experience an amazingly personalized time.

    Daniel2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful, peaceful setting. There are many things to do around the area (and Brenda can tell you about them all!) or you can just enjoy the quiet forest and watch the river flow. The Studio is a lovely space, and cozy in the winter. The heated floors are fantastic! Hopefully I can return another time and experience a different season.

Please be a great pet owner and pick up after your pooch :) This will ensure we continue to be pet friendly in the future. All cottages are equipped with a great little vacuum to help you get into corners and under furniture. Noise People come to our resort for peace and quiet. Please be mindful of that when playing music and socializing outdoors. Whether on your deck or at the fire pit, swearing and rowdy behavior of any kind will result in you being asked to leave. Fireworks We do not allow fireworks on our property. Sparklers at the beach are okay.

Close to Muskoka Lakes Farm & Winery where we spent a full enjoyable fall day learning about Cranberries. Hiking trails nearby as well. Would definitely recommend.

  • We had a lovely time. The cabin is situated in front of a lake and has a beautiful view; the resort was quiet. We enjoyed going for hikes and kayaking - it is starting to be cold so we skipped swimming in the lake...the cabin was clean. Sarah was a great host and followed up very quickly whenever we had a query.

    Mariana2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous view, beautiful weather, and a spotlessly clean cottage. We will definitely come back!

    Maison2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at Sarah’s cottage. This is a comfortable, rustic cottage with a modern kitchen. Hands down, this is cleanest cottage I have ever rented. And all located in a beautiful Muskoka setting. We especially enjoyed the beach and water activities - canoeing, kayak, SUP and swimming. We’re already planning a return trip!

    Dan2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • Here’s the skinny: Sarah’s a helpful & knowledgeable host. Ask her for trail, activities and nearby town info. Her Bay cottage had a wonderful lake view, paddle boat/canoe/kayak for use, beach access, shared fire pit, parking & was clean as a whistle. Would stay again, access to Bala & Gravenhurst within 30 minutes. Try 2.5 hour Gravenhurst lunch sail to see Muskoka Lake & hear it’s history for yourself. Enjoy !

The community of Hidden Valley is located about a 7 minute drive from Huntsville along Hwy 60 on the way to Algonquin Park and is located beside Hidden Valley Highlands Ski Area, Hidden Valley Resort and Deerhurst Resort. The West Gate for Algonquin Park is 36 kms from Hidden Valley. The neighbourhood was built in the 1970's and 80's around the ski hill and is a community of about 150 houses, cottages and townhomes with a mixture of full time residents and seasonal residents and guests. Our cottage is located across the street from Hidden Valley Highlands Ski Hill so you can walk to the ski hill. At the base of the ski hill, beside Hidden Valley Resort is a private community beach on Peninsula Lake that is available to our guests. We are close to many outdoor attractions such as hiking and canoeing in Algonquin Provincial Park, golfing at Deerhust Highland Golf Course or Clublink’s Mark O’Meara Golf Club, skating at Arrowhead Provincial Park, hiking, snowshoeing or cross country skiing on Limberlost Trails, sleigh rides at Beyond Equine Centre, or snowmobiling on the well groomed trails. There are numerous options for launching a boat or a canoe. The towns of Huntsville, Dwight and Dorset are nearby with great shopping and dining. We are happy to make recommends to our favorite restaurants.
  • This place is a gem! We enjoyed the cottage - fireplace, hot tub, pizza oven and the location! There are so many places to hike, ski, snow-shoe etc. Could not be a better place for a couple's get-a-way!

    Andrea2020-03-17T00:00:00Z
  • We definitely enjoyed the hot tub and pizza oven. I have to admit that feeding the friendly deer was a highlight for me at the chalet! Would definitely come back again!

    Christine2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • 10/10 The hosts are amazing! Very thorough and had the best local tips (suggestions on restaurants and things to do). I loved everything about this cottage! It had everything you needed and more. The Hot Tub, Pizza Oven and Wood Stove were a bonus! Deer watching from the living room and feeding the deer (carrots and apples) were highlights. Also, the welcome wine was super thoughtful. Perfect romantic getaway spot. Most definitely will come again.

  • We really needed a week to get away, relax and recharge. This beautiful chalet was just what the doctor ordered. The amenities were spot on and Lorraine and Richard were really wonderful hosts. We are making plans to return.

    Marie2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I loved this chalet - the amenities are fantastic and even if we were nervous about using the pizza oven, there were clear instructions that made it all much more achievable. Highly recommend this chalet!

    Mary2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you for such a wonderful stay! Loved the cottage - warm cozy and everything that we could have possibly wanted was there. Loved the fact we could feed the deer and birds, every morning greeted by deer munching on corn 2 inches away from the deck. The amenities were perfect - hot tub - barbeque - pizza oven outside amazing! Ideal location for the ski hills could walk there from the cottage. Can't say enough about this cottage - gas stove that was amazing for our meals and outside barbeque for a wonderful steak dinner. There was a 60 inch TV and woodfire place to keep us warm and relaxed. We only had three nights could have used a week , every thing was just perfect. The pictures don't do this place justice...Will be back again for sure!

    Elizabeth2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at Lorraine & Richard’s over the long weekend in February. We could’ve have wanted for anything more, Lorraine made sure we checked in ok & gave us a thorough break down on how to use everything in the cottage. Upon arrival we were even greeted with a welcome bottle of wine which we consumed in the hot tub on Valentine’s Day. We would definitely recommend staying at the chalet, & have already booked a second visit. Cheers!

    Courtney2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Lorraine and Richard's place was wonderful. Perfect for what we were looking for, clean, and very fun. The pizza oven is great and the hot tub was a blessing to have in the winter. Truly looking forward to going back ASAP. Thanks so much Lorraine and Richard for a wonderful stay.

There is a grill for BBQ and even when it rains you can watch DVD, play one of the nice board games or enjoy the view over the Lake. A useful tip: don't come with your sport vehicle. For the arrival your vehicle should be a bit suitable for off-road driving. With Mitchell's directions and a dodge grand caravan we had no problems to arrive. The hosts were very friendly, we would like to come again.

  • Quinn's cottage absolutely blew us away. My partner and I rent many airbnb cottages as we both have busy jobs and we like to get away sometimes, and this cottage by far was the best experience yet. We were curious as to what we would find when we turned into the long driveway up to the house.. When we got to the house we were stunned to find it even better then the pictures. The house has a real cottage feel to it with lots of homey decor through out. You can tell this cottage is very well loved and taken care of by family and friends. The house was so warm and inviting and it was much larger inside then we initially thought. When you go out onto the deck, the view of the lake is just breathtaking. It was so breathtaking that my partner actually proposed to me on that very deck this weekend! The backyard is right on the lake although it was too cold to go into the water. The hot tub was ready to go and we enjoyed sitting in it and looking up and seeing the immense amount of stars in the clear dark sky. The space almost had a magical feel to it. Inside was equipped with absolutely anything you could think you need. A decent sized tv with apple tv, any and all pots pans and utensils, and many cozy throws and blankets through out. Quinn was always quick to respond. I would say he responded almost immediately with any questions I had. He let us check in early and check out late as the house was available. We are very grateful to have been able to stay at Quinn's cottage during this time and we cannot wait to come back again. We love your cottage! Thanks so much for everything.

  • This cottage was extremely homey and comfortable with a nice warm fireplace in the centre and a beautiful view from the hot tub out back. The decor was beautiful and the layout of the cottage was perfect for all our needs. The kitchen was clean and everything we needed was available. Quinn even included firewood for the indoor fireplace. Unfortunately I can’t comment on the swimming as the lake was frozen during our stay. The rooms were quite big and well decorated and there was enough space for a large family. There was also wifi and Apple TV for the rainy times. Quinn was a great host, providing everything we needed and messaging back within 30 minutes every time. The neighbouring houses were a little close and shared the same driveway, however they were very pleasant and the backyard still felt secluded. My husband and I would definitely come back and recommend this cottage to our friends.

    Shannon2020-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • A perfect spot ! The view is incredible in this cozy spot and the hot tub was appreciated with the cold weather. The owner thought of every need and was very responsive to questions. I will be returning hopefully in the summer for sure. I highly recommend to anyone.

    Allison2020-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful touches, spacious cottage, in a beautiful and quiet location. Impeccably clean and stylishly decorated. Quinn was a very accommodating and responsive host. Hot tub was a wonderful addition! Highly recommend a stay here!

    Nadia2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great experience! The cottage was perfect as was the location. We were able to relax completely, which was the reason for the stay. Nice touches and great communication.

    Cheryl2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Had a really great stay and enjoyed the hot tub

    Paul2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is one of the best AirBNB's I have stayed at. It was spacious, clean, had everything we needed. The hot tub was amazing and a treat after going snowshoeing and skating nearby. If you are going in winter, the driveway to get into the cottage is a bit steep so winter tires are helpful! We have all seasons and made it in ok after 2 tries. Quinn did a great job ensuring the road was adequately plowed!

Nestled in the pines on the Muskoka River is this cozy one-bedroom cottage, ideal for a couple’s retreat. Kick-a-root cottage offers the best of all worlds: it is relaxing, tranquil, and private, but you’re only a 10-minute drive from the Town of Bracebridge with unique shops, restaurants, groceries, and breweries, not to mention numerous tourist attractions. Marked trails are direct across the river. For more photos and information visit us on IG (at) kickarootcottage
Kick-A-Root is complete with a new dock, watercraft and lifejackets (kayak x2, with large boat launching facilities close by), bicycles, a firepit, a gas BBQ, two decks, (the back one ideal for yoga -we even have the mat, the front one to watch the sunset), two electric fireplaces, a new 40" flat-screen TV and movies. A pull-out couch is available if you want to bring a friend, or another couple with you. Kick-a-root is conveniently located on Muskoka River (there is a dead end dirt road that separates the front of the cottage from the waterfront), has recently been completely updated with new furnishings to reflect the true north, is clean and ready to enjoy.
With the town of Bracebridge less than 10 minutes away you can have the best of both worlds, quiet, relaxing river side or pop in to town to have a bite to eat or walk the historic streets. There's even a golf course right around the corner from the cottage. There is definitely something for everyone in "The Bridge". There are other cottages/homes on the street with us and on either side. A row of trees and shrubs seperate the property from the neighbours. There are no cottages in front or behind us.
  • Kick-a-root is a beautiful and cozy cottage! It was perfect for our new years getaway with our toddler and 2 pups. The check in process was very easy and we were surprised to find a welcome gift that even included toys for our dogs :) Mandie and David are awesome hosts, communication was great and the area was lovely, it felt like a winter wonderland.

  • Great place that’s super cozy, clean and serene. We stayed with our daughter and labradoodle and found it perfect. Very stylish decor and you constantly want to take photos everywhere! Very instagram friendly 😉 love the Muskoka River view and proximity to Bracebridge.

  • Thanks for making our mini vacation extra special. Arriving at night can sometimes be a challenge, but Kevo made it simple and easy. Not to mention the lovely note and gift for both us and Jester our senior greyhound. It was the perfect place for some rest and relaxation for us. Sparkling clean and cozy, and in a perfect location. You’re prompt responsiveness to any questions, and tips on what to do in area were greatly appreciated. Thank you both for sharing your little gem of a cottage with us. We most definitely will be back.

  • My wife and I were looking to get away for a weekend in Muskoka at a quaint cottage. We found Mandie & David's Airbnb and instantly booked the first available time. If you are looking for a beautifully decorated, clean and well maintained cottage you will not be disappointed. It has all the charm of a dreamy Muskoka cottage. Mandie and David were extremely easy to communicate with and were always available to answer any questions we had. The cottage sits on the Muskoka River so if you love kayaking, fishing or suping, you will not be disappointed. My wife and I are already planning our next visit. Thanks for a great weekend Mandie and Dave!

    Scott2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect getaway cottage for a couple, the location is super close to the cozy town of Bracebridge, a town that just exudes Muskoka joie-de-vivre. The Cottage is located on the river, and has access to allow for kayaking and exploring. Full kitchen, spacious living areas make for a wonderful stay. Bring your camera because even in the November snow we found it simply gorgeous.

    Ashley2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Spent the weekend at Kick-A-Root and was lucky to see the first snowfall of the season in this terrific setting. You’d be hard pressed to find a cozier, cleaner, more welcome get away than this little slice of Muskoka. With the river a literal stones throw from the front door and some great trails all around, the location is great. Mandie and David are perfect hosts. I can’t think of anything I would improve. I look forward to returning in warmer weather and taking advantage of the river. Oh, and Hudson, the neighbourhood greeter, really is a gentle giant.

  • Wow! What a lovely stay. Deanna was accommodating and always replied promptly. She accommodated our sudden need to have another car/parking space. She had such wonderful touches like delicious welcome cookies on the counter. The listing was spotless and cozy. The kitchenette was a bit small for 4 women trying to meal prep at the same time but otherwise had all the equipment promised. Thanks for a hospitable stay!

Best part was the complete suite of water equipment available for use with enough for everyone to be kept busy at the same time. Fire pit right by the water was the perfect way to spend the evening while stargazing. Thank you so much for the hospitality!

Lauren’s timely responses and regular follow-ups as our vacation approached, made the trip virtually problem free. The cottage itself boasted plenty of room for all of us, with enough games and in-water activities to keep us occupied for our entire 4-night stay. I would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone looking to experience the beauty that the Muskokas have to offer, and hope to return again next year!

Summer Activities Algonquin Park: This beautiful park, which is located about 25 km from the cottage, stretches out over 7725 square kilometres of lakes, rivers, hills and forests. The best way to explore this rugged beauty is by canoe or foot. the park over 1500 km of canoe routes for both the novice and experienced. While hiking on one of the 14 day trails ranging from 0.8km to 11km you can view such things as Whiskey Rapids, abandoned railways and beaver ponds. Mining mountain bike trail is a moderately difficult trail through hilly hardwood forest with loops of 4.7km to 23km. For those who just want to enjoy the scenery and relax the park is a great place for swimming, wildlife viewing, fishing and picnics. There are three facilities within the Park that are worth visiting and they will introduce you to the human and natural history of the Park through exhibits, these are the Visitor Centre, the Logging Museum and the Art Centre. The WOLF HOWL should be on everyone's bucket list of things to do. Every Thursday evening in August, the evening begins at the Outdoor Theatre with a talk on wolf ecology. The Howl attendees receive instructions on event protocol before driving to the Howl site along Highway 60. Then the naturalist team make imitation howls to encourage the wolves to respond so you can hear their haunting harmonies. Note: Make sure it is happening before going to the park. Dorset Fire Tower The Tower is situated on a 500 foot peak overlooking dorset and Trading Bay. This 100 foot steel tower gives a wonderful view and an ideal spot to photograph. From late September to early October, the changing colour of the leaves is at its most beautiful. The view from the tower at this time if year is one you shouldn't miss. Ragged Falls A 400 foot cascade over falls and rapids, this is a spectacular place to take pictures. Located two miles east of Oxtongue Lake. Golf Courses The are four golf courses in the immediate area, Deehurst Lakeside and Highlands, Grandview and Huntsville Downs.
  • The boat house was such a cute place to have a relaxing wintery weekend! The location made for a good jumping off point to Algonquin and other attractions nearby to Huntsville. Our hosts took care of a small number of issues we faced related to the unexpected cold weather. Our only real disappointment was not feeling like we took full advantage of all the things available to us!

  • Where do I begin to describe Dee and Doug's place? The pictures do not do this place justice. From the second we drove up to the property, we were met with the most beautiful view of the lake. The unique little space that was created above the boathouse is stunning. We absolutely enjoyed the back deck that looked out onto the water, the cozy fireplace , the whirlpool tub and the area in general. It was the perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city. Dee was of course there to greet us which was so nice. She showed us around the space and made us feel very at home and comfortable. She was quick to respond to any questions we may have had. It's in a great location, just a 10 minute drive from downtown Huntsville where you'll find quaint shops, cafes and restaurants. The scenery of being out there during Fall is breathtaking. We are so looking forward to going back there again. I can't say enough amazing things about this place! Thank you Dee and Doug!

    Natalie2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was so comfy and cozy with a spectacular view of the lake and the colourful trees, it made for a perfect weekend get-away to spend some quality couple time and admire the beautiful fall colours. The jacuzzi tub was a nice touch to relax and sooth our sore muscles from all the hiking and biking we did in Algonquin park. The cabin is exactly as it appears in the photos and it’s spotlessly clean. The towels were clean and fresh as were the sheets on the very comfy bed. We were very pleased with our stay in the cabin and we hope we can make it back next fall...and every fall after! I highly recommend this cabin for some couples ‘re-connect’ time and to get outdoors and take in the beauty of the Muskoka region.

    Kiersty2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Dee’s Lakeview Cottage is immaculate—total peace and tranquillity. My husband enjoyed the fishing from both the canoe and dock. We both loved relaxing on the upper deck overlooking the lake. We were also treated with the view of the Fall colours across the lake of Hidden Valley Ski hills. Every view was perfect.

  • Look no further, best Airbnb near Algonquin Park. If you are like us, looking for a private, quiet, clean, scenic cottage both close to Algonquin Park and Huntsville, this is the place. Host is extremely responsive, with great hospitality. This cute little cottage is right on the lake, with 5 star hotel cleanliness. More than plenty white soft towels are provided, which is not what you usually experience at Airbnbs. Whirlpool bathtub is a plus, especially after a day of hikes or drives. Will definitely come back!

It has a lovely 3km trail and a 8km trail that circle the lake. The Torrance Barrens Dark Sky Preserve is about 10 minutes drive away, and it’s the ultimate sky-watching place. Dark Sky Preserves are very unique and rare (only 6 in Ontario and 16 in Canada). On a “sunny” summer night, you will see the Milky Way. Make sure to bring some bug spray :) Cafe/restaurant/ concert hall Bala has a few cafes and restaurant. And you should definitely check out the Kee to Bala (book your ticket in advance!)
  • Stella's parents were really nice and friendly... Thanks for very good service... We will surely go back again

  • A very cozy little cabin with the water less than 20 meteres away and incredible scenery. I will definitely be coming back. What a beautiful getaway.

  • Cabin One -This little cabin is just so special. It is compact but has everything you need to enjoy the lakeside experience. The view is priceless. The bedrooms are comfortable and the bathroom is just lovely. The shower in Lake water was great for hair and skin. You can cook in the kitchen and the little dining table has three chairs tucked into it. At night we lit a fire by the lakeside, barbecued and watched the stars pop out after a lovely sunset whilst hearing the acorns drop. The area around is spectacular. This is a very simple place but if you are looking for a genuine experience I would recommend. The hosts are very friendly and quick to assist.

  • Black creek cabins is at an amazing location and literally steps away from the lake. Cabin 1 is at the far end of the property which was perfect for our group! Check in was simple and quick as well as checkout. Firewood is available at the main cabin for $10 which was super convenient. Responses by text were also very prompt which was very much appreciated! The cabin was a bit chilly in when we first got in but heated up quick with the space heater that is provided. Grocery store and LCBO are located about ten min away. Lots of boating equipment available with more than enough life jackets for all guest in the neighboring cabins. Would highly recommend and stay again!

Our place is close to Bala and Port Carling. You’ll love it! It's a big, one room, family cabin on a 6 acre forested property with a 40 sec. walk to our 1100 ft of shoreline on pristine Medora lake, with dock, canoe, great swimming and fishing. This place is good for couples or a family (with kids). A true Muskoka experience. The friendly and quiet owners who live next door have loved this incredible private property for 25 years and will ensure you have all the comforts you need.
  • Had a great weekend getaway at Jeff's cabin. Great escape from the city. It was beautiful, simple and relaxing.

    Sarah2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Jeff’s property is beautiful and his hospitality is unmatched. We arrived later at night than expected and he was more than accommodating to our needs. The cabin was beautiful and had all the amenities one would need for a cozy weekend away. The cranberry marsh down the road is super charming and a local gem. We hope to be back soon!

    Daniel2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Jeff and Maja's cabin was a wonderful find in the Muskoka region. Right next to a beautiful lake and set in a very tranquil environment, it was a truly memorable escape. They were both wonderful hosts and were very helpful. Even with some rain in late October (which we expected) the surroundings were so beautiful and the cabin was really cozy. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would love to visit again sometime in the future.

    Prabath2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Jeff's place sits on 6 acres of forest and lakefront. It was a beautiful escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. There is a beautiful boardwalk built through the forested area to lead you to the water. The cabin he built is also gorgeous. Very homey, log cabin feel. Everything we needed was there for us. His property is literally 3 minutes away from the cranberry marsh, where we stopped in to get some cranberry wine! Perfect if you like sweet wines. Jeff was very welcoming and kind. I'm sorry we did not chat more, he seems like he probably has a bunch of cool stories to share. Jeff's place is a definite recommend! 😊

    Theresa2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great little cottage, beautiful surroundings and location is perfect.

    Jeanette2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Jeff and Maja were warm and lovely hosts. We hope to return in the summer for another stay! The Muskoka area is so overpriced and it was nice to stay somewhere for a reasonable price with down to earth people!

    Megan2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Jeff’s cabin was well equipped with everything you would need for a comfortable stay. The cabin was clean and cozy. I would highly recommend this property.

    Nancy2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • You will enjoy this cabin in the woods. There are a variety of things to do on the property; the cabin is cozy and well-supplied, or take a walk to the lake where there is plenty of frontage to take in and enjoy the scenery. Be sure to sit around the great campfire pit at night and enjoy the stars and quiet surroundings.

Nestled on a double lot with over 200' of frontage on the big east river, this uniquely cozy cabin has everything you need to enjoy Muskoka and the great outdoors in style. The cottage comes equipped with a 4pc. bathroom, full kitchen, dishwasher, propane BBQ, 8'x 28' deck overlooking the river, smart TV, Wifi, basement rec-room, AC, and washer and dryer. Your hosts live down the street and are happy to help make the best of your stay.
In 2018 we met with our good friends Christina and Wyatt to view this property, we immediately saw what a sweet little getaway it would be for a family or for some pals needing some R&R in nature and we went about buying it that day. Then for the next year our builder- Serge, essentially REBUILT the whole cottage (he has some great stories about the unique features the original cottage had, you can ask us!) and we dreamt up what we would want the cottage to feel like when we walked in the door. We envisioned a modern clean feel, tying the wonders of nature wherever we could. We wanted to portray how cozy and quiet it can be in the colder months, with all the wonders of winter activity just outside the door. AND how vivacious and bright it is in summer months, with hours of fun on the lazy river in sun, peaceful walks in the woodlands, evening cocktails on the deck or the fire pit gazing at the stars through the towering pines. which is how we came up with our (work-in-progress) name - Whispering Pine-apple.The sounds of the pines as the wind blows through is enchanting, and our crazy bright pineapple yellow cottage that we hope will breathe joy into the days spent here.
This cozy cabin is on a private, dead-end, gravel rd. and feels very private thanks to lots of tree cover and adjacent lots being vacant. 4 min drive to Arrowhead Provincial park and Nordic Centre, 10 min drive to historic and scenic downtown Huntsville and 40 min drive to Algonquin park. Great swimming hole right in front on property and
  • SO VERY NICE, we had to stay twice in a row!

  • Completely thrilled by this place. A cozy, yet spacious + stylish place - with so many comforts. Facing the Big East river, you experience the feeling of being "away" at a cottage, while being conveniently close to town. We came up with our daughter and dog in the Spring, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Definitely looking forward to coming back in the summer. Thank you so much!

  • We fell in love with Kasey’s place the moment we saw it. SUPER cute and cozy, with everything you need for a weekend getaway. It’s also right by the water, with plenty of space for a four-legged friend / little ones to run around. Would highly recommend!

    Nadine2020-03-22T00:00:00Z
  • Our recent stay at whispering Pine-Apple was amazing. We went up so we could make us of Arrowhead, and weren’t disappointed - it was only minutes away. After hiking trails, all day, we really enjoyed relaxing at the cottage with a beautiful view seen through the large patio door. We made use of everything the cottage had to offer - outdoor fire pit, movie access, very comfortable living and sleep accommodations - I can say enough good things about this cottage. We were in touch with one of the hosts (Kacey), and she was very accommodating, and great with communication. We hope to be back soon!

  • Jen and Brent were fantastic hosts and their apartment was amazing and spacious. We enjoyed the hot tub and beautiful forest views, and the deer that came to visit. The kitchen was well equipped, bed was super comfortable and the Netflix and books were appreciated. We enjoyed the complimentary wine, easy communication and great location. We highly recommend Jennifer’s place.

  • Jennifer and Brent's place was definitely a Muskoka Memory. Thoughtful touches through out, from a lit sign with my name on it in the place, to having a cold bottle of wine and a beer ready for us. This was a great getaway to isolate from the day to day of the current state of the province. Having Netflix and the hot tub available made staying in so much easier!

  • Jennifer and Brent’s place was amazing. It was exceptionally clean. We really enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit! • We had a really wonderful time at Memories of Muskoka--the check-in process was simple, the apartment was cozy and had lots of home comforts, the hot tub was wonderful to slip into on a cold wintry night, the couches were comfy for lounging and watching Netflix, the home made wine left out for us upon arrival was delicious and meeting the two Cockapoo dogs was a treat. Jennifer and Brad were super friendly, quick to respond to inquiries and shared essential local tips to maximize our time in Huntsville. We left feeling like we made two new friends and can't wait to visit again : )
