“Open 7 days a week and sells a wide range of fresh and packaged produce and normally has exactly what you are looking for. Even open Sunday mornings!”

“Ideal for families and couples alike, good food with a lovely outdoor courtyard with flaming torches to dine or simply have an aperitif in the summer evenings.”

Lodging
“Built by Albert Claveille, French minister 1916-1921, who promoted the construction of the local dam which is the biggest brick built dam in the world. The Villa was also built by him so he could overlook the dam. Take a visit to see the fish lift, fascinating! You might see a salmon or an eel making its way up river.”

Bar
“Simple French cafe that provides a set 5 course lunch (1200-1330) each working day. There is not much choice but the menu changes daily and the prices are unbeatable - 5 courses with wine for 14 euros! Worth a visit just to experience how local life takes place. You can also just drop in for a coffee in the morning - they are quite happy for you to bring your own croissants from the local bakery - or a drink in the afternoon.”

“Excellent daily bread and pastries. There are two bakeries in the village and we recommend David Baudin / Ronde des Pains which is far superior.”
