Whether you are looking to have a romantic getaway for two or to making new family memories, The Mountain Retreat is the perfect place for you! This gem of a cabin is perched on the hillside with everything you need for the ultimate retreat.
The Mountain Retreat is a wonderfully cozy cabin situated on several acres deep in the mountains of North Carolina, in close proximity to Boone, Blowing Rock, West Jefferson and Wilkesboro. The Mountain Retreat is the PERFECT spot for a romantic retreat for 2 or a small family. There is 1 bedroom with a queen bed and a queen size sofa bed in the living room. There is room for an inflatable queen size air mattress if needed (it would be very cozy). Just a stone's throw from the cabin there is the pleasant sound of a mountain stream. The terrain surrounding the cabin is full of plants, flowers, shrubs and fruit trees. We even have a gazebo with swing and a doll house for you to enjoy!
The Mountain Retreat is just a few miles away from the Blue Ridge Parkway and located in a charming cabin community called Creekside Estates. There are only a handful of cabins in the neighborhood, so you can rest assured to experience a most special stay. The Mountain Retreat is located 15 minutes from Boone and 20 minutes to West Jefferson and 45 minutes Blowing Rock. The Blue Ridge Parkway is only 4 miles from the cabin.
  • The Mountain Retreat is the perfect getaway. The location is beautiful, the cabin is very clean and cozy, and Richard is a great host. The attention to detail in the cabin is so thoughtful and really makes the place feel like home. Richard responded to all of our messages very quickly, and was always helpful and kind. I would give it 5 stars, and would definitely come back for another vacation!

  • A great getaway with beautiful views. Truly a cozy cabin tucked in a mountain side, and only about 15 minutes away from the Blue Ridge Parkway. My husband and I stayed with our dog (who especially loved it) over Christmas. We lit a fire every night and we’re able to cook full meals in the cutest little kitchen. Don’t fret if you don’t have plans, the host had plenty of literature and maps on where to go and what to do. 10/10 would book again.

    Cameron2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect for my husband and I and our two dogs to get away for the weekend. Definitely would have felt right if there were any more people/pets. Good location about 25 minutes from downtown Boone and closer to West Jefferson which has a great little downtown worth exploring! We had no issues finding the cabin thanks to the great instructions left on how to get there, however there is no cell service so make sure you either print out or download the keypad code prior to arriving, otherwise you’ll have to drive back down to the main road until you get service again to find it (speaking from experience). We would definitely stay here again.

This is a 2 bedroom small cottage where my partner and I live with our dog (Maggie). The guest bedroom is located downstairs within the cottage. The bedroom has a full size bed and furnished. This cottage was built in 1935 with beautiful old country charm!
  • Brandon’s place was great! Small but super cozy, clean and perfect for one or two people and our host was very friendly! Maggie and the other puppy were both so cute, we loved them!

This location is a great home base for exploring the beautiful Blue Ridge Mountains including the Boone/Blowing Rock area (25-35 mins), N. Wilkesboro (15 mins) and also Yadkin Valley wineries. Access to the Blue Ridge Parkway is less than 15 minutes away. Singing Waters is a small, working farm nestled in the foothills of the Blue Ridge, and is named after the beautiful creek that runs through the property, which can be heard from the cottage deck. Free range, happy, healthy chickens supply all of the eggs used in the Singing Waters Bakery. • We stayed at Renee’s cottage for a weekend to celebrate my boyfriends birthday. It was a great location to check out West Jefferson and Boone, very close to the parkway and easy to find. We had breakfast provided by Renee both mornings and i highly recommend it! Her scones were delicious and it was so convenient to have it brought right to the door. She was accommodating and quick to answer questions and provide help. The cottage was as described, very clean and homey. Thanks for a great stay!

    Becca2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome little cottage not far from all kinds of mountain adventures. Renee was awesome and helped anyway we needed and made a wonderful breakfast! Highly recommended

    Dillon2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • Such a cute cottage! We enjoyed Renee’s hospitality! My husband and I wanted a getaway that would give us solitude and a chance to recharge after the holidays. Renee’s cottage was perfect! We enjoyed watching the chickens and exploring the property. Renee made us breakfast one morning and it was amazing! Highly recommend!

  • This Airbnb is peaceful. Great for a getaway. She made sure we were well taken care of and she was nice and pleasant. Her homemade breakfast is amazing. BEST HOST EVER. Whenever we had any issues she was quick to asses it and get it taken care of. Ps. The homegrown/homemade jelly is also great.

Relax. You are now on Mountain Time. Wake up slow, drink some coffee, and get in the hot tub! Watch the leaves turn, listen to the breeze, feel the NOT humid, 90 degree temperature from where you came :) or for the more adventurous bunch...! Our Favorites in Boone: - App State FOOTBALL!!! Head up to "The Rock" this fall to watch App State play. The Blue Ridge Parkway is 1/4 mile away. One of our favorite hikes is the E.B Jeffress Cascades trail. It is a short easy/moderate hike down to a small set of waterfalls with a great overlook. Rough Ridge is another great, moderate hike. Cleared and marked trail leading to a beautiful 270 degree overlook. Hebron Rock Colony is the best! Drive south on the parkway to Price Park. Cook out at one of the park provided grills, then hike a short moderate hike to the coolest bunch of rocks in the High Country. Sunbathe on the rocks until you burn. It's the best. The South Fork New River has a lot to offer... kayaking, tubing, canoeing, fly fishing, swimming etc. If your two vehicles allow, in spring or early summer, take one or both of our kayaks to the Todd island Park off of Railroad Grade Road on the South Fork of the New River. It's a great float down to the Cranberry Springs overpass. (Leave vehicle at the end, parking available). *FOOD* Boone: Hatchett Coffee- There is no better coffee. (Get the Blue Ridge Blend) Black Cat Burrito - Everything is good here. (This is a dive bar) Macado's - local/college favorite (You +3 get the Hindenburg sandwich) Capone's Pizza - Chicago style pizza, very good (Big Joe's Buffalo Chicken with pineapple) West Jefferson: Black Jack Pub and Grill - "Best burger in Town" its da best. I think about this burger all the time Havana Cafe- Hole in the wall, but it is worth finding! (Cuban and fried plantains) Fleetwood: Park Vista - I haven't been to the inn but the food is amazing. Jump off the parkway at milepost 268 for a great lunch or dinner Deep Gap: Jim's Produce - its a very nice produce stand. We loved going here, you should go here. get seasonal produce Memorial day until Thanksgiving. Thompson's Seafood and Country Cooking- My husband and his friends alway talk about this place. He always says "It's where the locals go." Go here if that's what you're in to.
  • Very nice place! Great for couples or a small family!

    Kate2020-03-23T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our time in the house! The whirlpool is definitely a highlight, also the barbecue grill is perfect for warm summer nights! The house is clean and provide lovely decoration and useful equipment. Even though the house is located next to the highway it's quiet and you can sleep well! I would definitely recommend this accommodation!

    Theresa2020-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • I’ve stayed in multiple airbnb’s around Boone but this one is my favorite so far! Great location, super clean, and perfect for the dogs. The yard was plenty of room for them to run and play while we enjoyed the jacuzzi or sat by the fire. It’s close to the main road but you’d never know, it’s quiet and feels secluded. I knew the place would be cute but the photos really don’t do it justice. We can’t wait to come back!

    Bri2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • The place was the perfect size for the two of us and our dog - who loved the yard and stream that ran behind the house. The gates around the deck allowed our dog to play with his toys in a confined area outside while we got to enjoy the hot tub on the cold evenings. The house was so cozy and very clean which made us enjoy the time we spent relaxing at home just as enjoyable as the time we spent exploring the towns nearby! We’re already talking about wanting to go back, and hopefully getting to stay for a longer visit next time!

    Jessica2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • The Parkway cottage was a lovely home away from home. My boyfriend and I stayed here for a snowboarding trip. It was very clean and the hot tub was a fantastic touch(especially during the cold mountain nights)! There was also a fire pit which was nice. Very cute and eclectic decoration, great for the hiking/rock climbing-type. It is very close to the highway which makes access to local towns a breeze! 10/10 would stay again!

    Madeline2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • It was an amazing stay. Recommend anyone to stay there for a nice relaxing weekend.

    Sydney2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • This tiny house is great and I hope that we can stay again! We were disappointed that the hot tub had some issues (one of the reasons we rented this place) and it wasn’t ready when we arrived, but it was ready by the 2nd night. The highway noise wasn’t an issue for us, and it was super convenient to go into Jefferson and Boone! The bed is super comfy! The place is decorated nicely and has some really thoughtful touches!

    Flora2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • This was a quaint, cute, clean place about 10-15 minutes outside of Boone. We had treats that greeted us when we arrived, a hot tub, comfy bed, stylish space, and access to roku tv, including Netflix! Definitely recommend, the host was so hospitable and we will stay here again! Would recommend for 2 adults, any more would be a little tight.

Newly renovated, cozy and quirky, our tiny house is the perfect setting for a relaxing getaway. Our property, a remote location far from the hustle and bustle of city life, is a beautiful valley surrounded by forest. Being movie set builders left us with a lot of set parts, so we incorporated them into this little gem...separate from main house, private deck, full kitchen, AC, record player and huge record selection, hiking trails, swimming pond, zip line, yoga, art installations and more...
First of all, we live VERY remote...the next town is a 25 minute car ride away! The last 3 miles are gravel road and a steep driveway (we have a low rider scion and have had never problems). The property and the tiny house are really surrounded by woods, woods, woods.... The tiny house acommodates 2 adults. We live on 65 acres and adjoin a state forest, have a one acre swimming pond with zipline, a trampoline in the woods and a slackline. there is also a helicopter on the roof next to the cabin in which you can hang out and dream about your next flight far away.....there are meandering hiking trails through the woods, and plenty of nooks and crannies throughout the property to provide you with adventure, fun, relaxation, and inspiration. We also have a yoga studio on the property which is open to everybody. Henry is a certified yoga and acro yoga instructor and is available to give private lessons for singles, couples, and small groups ($35 per 1 1/2 hr session). Bedding includes pillows, linens, and blankets, and towels will be provided. The toilet is a compost toilet! Very user friendly, eco-friendly, and not as scary as it sounds. The compost toilet is cleaned completely after each guest stay and has no 'ick' factor!! We also like to note that we support and love to host members of the LGBT community and Black Lives Matter!!
The neighborhood is woods, woods, woods...Nearby attractions include: Blue Ridge Parkway (20 min drive from tiny house), the little town of Wilkesboro--home of the "Merlefest" in April and "Applefest" in August (30 min drive), West Jefferson and Mt. Jefferson just up the mountain, the town of Boone and hometown of Appalachian State University, and Blowing Rock, home of the Tweetsie railroad. All four towns are nice small towns for strolling, shopping for very good local arts and crafts and just hanging out...
  • Henry and Judith have a beautiful place! The pictures online don’t do it justice! They grounds have exquisite art installations that provide fun entertainment as well as relaxation. I highly recommend this airbnb! Some cool things you may find here are a helicopter, dragon, dinosaur egg, roman bath, and zen garden!

    Alexis2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • This place is totally magical! It’s very remote, but it’s easily the best bnb my girlfriend and I have ever stayed in. The tiny house is wonderfully charming, and the surrounding property is gorgeous. If you’re looking for a relaxed and remote getaway in the blue ridge mountains, I couldn’t recommend anything better.

    Henry2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • Definitely one of the coolest places I have ever stayed!! 10/10 would go back again

    Kalee2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • A really beautiful place with great hosts. I especially liked the miles of hiking trails through the woods that start directly on the property.

    Jedidiah2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • This was a completely magical, and amazing space to unwind in for a week absolutely loved it! We loved it and would recommend to anyone who needs a serene place to unwind.

    Chantel2019-07-17T00:00:00Z
  • This is a one of a kind magical place where you go to connect with art, nature, and your inner child. Judith, Henry, and the furbabies are the best host and it shows how much love and effort they put into their masterpiece! The tiny house is clean and has everything you need. You can pack light only bringing clothes and grub. They truly have thought of everything to help you work less and play more. Inspiration sings in every nook and cranny! Closest town is conviently 20-30 mins away if you're in need of a store. Acces to Blue Ridge Parkway is close as well. There is so much adventure throughout the valley your inner child will be heart broken when it's time to leave. So, go breathe in the fresh air and get some clean water at Peaceful Valley, you won't regret it!

    Sharee2019-07-04T00:00:00Z
  • The space was perfect for me. From the fully stocked kitchen where I prepared my meals, to the dining table that faced the window where I had the vista of Henry and Judith's gorgeous piece of nature and the birds that alighted on the stump on the deck. The singing of birds every morning was incredible. The bedroom is an underwater paradise with an octopus ceiling mural, a turtle mosaic, paper mache fish dangling from the ceiling. I found myself contantly staring at the Cousteau-like photograph on the night table. Yes, this was my teenage dream bedroom realized! The details in the tiny house are unbelievable. There is a wood stump outside with a variety of heart-shaped stones on it. Also a shrine for icons like the ones I used to see when hiking the mountains in Austria, but instead of saints, it's full of mini dog figurines. So much modern art, it just turns on your brain! And all of this came out of the minds of my amazing hosts! Besides brilliant, they are so friendly and considerate! They just as easily welcomed me into their home as respected my privacy when I needed it. It's not often that you meet balanced people: artistic and intelligent, but also down-to-earth and humble. They are conscientious in everything they do: the care of their guests, the love for their sweet dogs, the maintenance of their home and land. I still don't understand how they do it all. And on top of all this, they've added form to every function: their house is a work of art. Their sculpture garden is a melding of futurism and mysticism that belongs in the museum section of tourism books. If nothing else, you have to go for a hike just to see the art installations they've planted throughout the mountains: the dragon snaking the bottom of the valley! I would come back here in a heart beat... and I plan to.

  • The Misty Mountain Retreat is the perfect spot to take a relaxing vacation and get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It seamlessly skirts the line between rustic and modern, making it feel very cozy and effortlessly functional. The location is unbelievably lovely and serene while being within easy driving distance of everything you need, making it feel secluded but not so much that you feel like you need to live like Bear Grylls... unless you are into that sort of thing. The cabin was immaculately clean and is well stocked with a variety of dishes and cookware so you can easily make your own meals in the beautiful kitchen. They even had some staples like oatmeal, rice, seasonings, etc which helps to cut down on the amount of redundant stuff you need to purchase while in the area. We really just cannot say enough great things about our visit, and look forward to staying at Shawn’s Misty Mountain Retreat again in the future.

  • Very isolated for privacy, but close enough to neighbors to not be afraid of the wilderness! 20 minutes from Boone and snow, or 20 minutes in the other direction for warmer temps and no precipitation. Great location!

  • I sat out in a parking for almost 2 hours trying to find a nice place and somewhere that accepted pets. Everyone was charging ridiculous prices to bring a dog and cleaning prices were like $200.00 for a day!!!! THEN I CAME ACROSS SHAWN'S CRIB!!!! Well let me tell you what, not only was his place beautiful but there was NO PET FEE and I drove like a hour. It was so worth it. I had no trouble finding it up in the mountains. Shawn was super cool and he mapped out everything at his house for me. I didn't have to search or stress how to operate things. He mapped out everything!!!! Not to mention, his crib was beautiful and half the price as others listed.

First of all, we live VERY remote...the next town is a 25 min car ride away! the last 3 miles are gravel road and a steep driveway, we have a low rider scion and have had never problems. the property and the Tree house is really surrounded by woods, woods, woods.... The tiny house/cabin tree house accommodates 2 adults, but has also a couch which can sleep a child (please bring your own bedding for child). We have a huge Movie collection with a DVD player and TV for movie watching (no regular TV channels) and for more entertainment we have a Miss Pacman waiting in the parlour.... Our 65 acres in the middle of the woods adjoin a state forest and a one acre swimming pond will give you plenty of room. We have a big yoga studio on the property which is open to everybody. Henry is a certified yoga and acro yoga instructor and is available to give private lessons for singles, couples and small groups ($35/hr). Bedding incl. pillows and linens and towels will be provided. Being German, i have very high cleanliness standards, but it is a tree house with a living tree in it...so some bark, the occasional bug etc. should be expected. The compost toilet will be cleaned completely after each guest stay and so has no 'ick' factor!! we also like to note that we would love to host members of the LGBT community and Black lives do matter!
The neighborhood is woods, woods, woods and then the blue ridge parkway all the way to Asheville (5 hrs drive time)...The next little town is Wilkesboro home of the "Merlefest" in April and "Applefest" in August. Up the mountain is West Jefferson with Mt Jefferson and Boone the hometown of Appalachian State University and Blowing Rock, home of the tweetsie railroad. All tree towns are nice small towns for strolling, shopping for very good local arts and crafts and just hanging out...
  • Amazing place and great location surrounded by many attractions. Henry and Judith we’re very welcoming. The house was unique and inviting.

  • This space has everything you need for a cozy retreat. It is beyond clean. The bed is more comfortable than our own! The kitchen was fully equipped. There were a variety of games to play, books to read, and movies to watch. The area is beautiful. The hosts are lovely, gracious, and engaging. We highly recommend!

  • We absolutely love the “tree house”! It was my second stay. We enjoyed our greeting from Ladybug, Henry, and Judith, the space is so much fun, and yoga class is fantastic. The grounds are beautiful and we will hopefully have more time to hike and explore next visit! Wonderful hosts and stay.

  • This place is an absolute dreamland. There are so many sweet surprises on the trails, and the house is GORGEOUS, cozy, and inviting. If you are looking for a secluded destination for relaxation and quality time, THIS IS THE PLACE!!!!!! Henry, Judith, and their dogs are so warm and welcoming, and so very thoughtful. We loved every single moment of our stay and absolutely cannot wait to return.

  • Henry and Judith's treehouse was just what my husband and I needed for a quiet weekend to relax. The whole property is full of character and mindfulness. It's a special place tucked away in the hills with pleasant hosts and a super sweet pup.

    Rachel2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • This place was amazing! The lake had so many floats available and the zip line was so fun! Even though it rained half the time we had plenty of movies to watch and games to play thanks to the owners

  • All around awesome experience. Beautiful area and was very peaceful. The dome was clean and had a comfy bed with the best view to wake up to. I will definitely be back!!

  • Our stay was perfect :)! Everything was available that we needed. We would love to return here for several days next time we are in the area. Very relaxing and the bed was comfortable.

    Kate2019-10-28T00:00:00Z
  • Such a beautiful location and truly unique experience. Easy check in instructions and close to things but still felt remote and private. Great way to camp with a much nicer place to sleep than a tent.

    Jen2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place to unplug and experience nature. I loved listening to creek and being surrounded by incredible property.

    Summer2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic. Beautiful property, the subtle touches are on point. An exceptional evening. I would highly recommend it!

    Sam2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • This place is PERFECTION if you are looking to step up your camping experience. We did not want to leave. The view and sounds from the dome are amazing. We were lucky enough to be there in the fall so the leaves changing was an added bonus. It was a very romantic experience waking up to that view in the morning. We loved the fire pit and had a wonderful time cooking our meals in the fire.

    David And Elizabeth2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • What a fun little get away spot! Just went for a night and was able to enjoy the property during the day. The dome was adorable and felt secure and safe. The bed is super comfortable too. Reminder to guests to bring drinking water. Charcoal is provided for the grill which was easy to use. It was pretty damp outside so struggled getting the fire pit started but it was fine. Would suggest bringing some dry logs if you want to have a good fire all evening. The property felt very private and the access to the river was lovely. Plenty of spots to get in the water. Would defiantly stay again.

    Carson2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • This place was awesome, just what we we’re looking for. Very clean and quiet and away from all the noise and traffic, but still close enough to get to town.

The cozy cottage is located in the country side just off 421 on Boone trail, along the Lewis Fork Creek, in Wilkes county. Located in the foothills of the Blue ridge mountains. The cozy cottage has been in our family for three generations. We live just out of sight on up the drive. You can enjoy your privacy but if you need anything we are near by. We look forward to meeting you upon your arrival !
We like to also have a special treat upon your arrival for you to enjoy, which changes from time to time
Peaceful country setting, Beautiful in all seasons. Nearby the gorgeous Blue Ridge Parkway. Boone & Blowing Rock, great for shopping. On up the road is Grandfather Mountain with it's mile high swinging bridge which is very scenic. We have the Apple Festival the first weekend in October. Always fun with lots of crafts to see. Music to listen too and unique things to buy. Lots of food. In April we have the world famous MerleFest ! Nearby lake if you like to fish or do water sports. Also at certain times of the year we have outdoor dramas.
  • Our second time here! We needed a place to stay for a month while we were waiting to get into our apartment and liked it here so much the first time, we came back! We had everything we needed and it was a wonderful, cozy stay! We would certainly come back if we ever needed!

    Samantha2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • WOW! This is the best AirBnB experience I have ever had! Never have I ever had a host who was so thoughtful. I appreciated the small touches! We had snacks and drinks upon our arrival and she checked in to make sure everything was okay! The space was so clean and cozy. I will most certainly be back. What a wonderful find!

    Samantha2019-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great little cottage with privacy, peace and quiet, and a feel-good atmosphere, all for a very reasonable price.

    Meggan2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Connie made me feel at home and very welcomed. Staying in Connie's Cottage was real a delight. The atmosphere is perfect -- it is cozy and inviting with tasteful decor. If you need a place to get away from it all, this is a place to relax. The cottage is tucked away from city life in the foothills. During late evenings, you can faintly see the milky way and many stars, hear the night wildlife, smell the forest trees, and hear the river as you sit on the porch. Very peaceful. I would come back. A note: There are two white cottages with green shutters in the area. My GPS took me directly to the 1st one. Ignore it. Drive a little further up the road and you will see a sign and decor around Connie's Cottage.

  • Cozy Cottage was a quiet, serene place to relax. Enjoyed the comfort and thoughtfulness that Connie put into the furnishings and decor. Would definately stay in this home away from home again.

Barefoot Cabin (BC) is a quiet, little, cabin tucked away in the Majestic Mountain gated community, near the Blue Ridge mountains, made to unplug, reflect & unwhine. Min's, from Wilkesboro, Boone, & attractions. Unique features include custom spiral staircase, Kitchen Pergula/ceramic woodstove w/ a flare of rustically, comfortable features. Special thank you to all who visited BC this past year. Experiences left in the little brown book truly reflect how special this place is. Thanks Eddie
Features a Pullout couch, Queen size bed, washer, (no dryer) shower, wood stove and stove, deck, fridge, microwave, T.V. tracks two local channels, and a DVD player. No internet service is available. Remember, it is modern rustic to get away form IoT. But if you need access to WIFI, you can use a Verizon Jetpack and you will be good to go.
The valley/mountains view are very cool. Don't be surprised if you happen to see wild turkey and other wildlife out there. Legend has it Daniel Boone hunted throughout the area. There are also waterfalls throughout the subdivision. Lot's of hiking to do.
  • Eddie's cabin is amazing in a secluded neighborhood with fantastic views. Eddie went above and beyond in providing info on local activities and amenities. I would reccomend this location to anyone wanting to get away from the busy hustle and bustle of life.

    Rebecca2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Had a wonderful time at this charming cabin! Highly recommended! We were on a little family vacation to see the mountains and this cabin was in a great spot. Neighborhood was excellent! It is gated and the other houses have lots of space/woods between them, so everyone had privacy. Nice views from the cabin and really spectacular views from walking around the neighborhood. We traveled to Boone, Blowing Rock, and Linville caverns easily (under an hour). The cabin itself is so cute and fun! Great deck out back, lots of nice comfortable space inside. I will clarify the sleeping arrangement (because I was confused after reading the ad) there is a queen/full size bed in its own little bedroom on the first floor, along with a full bathroom. Upstairs in the loft there is a bunk bed, and downstairs there is also a pull out sofa. For our situation (traveling with a 7 year old), we were able to squeeze in a twin air mattress at the foot of the bed downstairs. Could have easily fit a large air mattress upstairs in the loft, but our kid wouldn't stay up there alone. Additionally, there are 2 chairs in the bonus reading nook area off the kitchen that are great for a nap! There is a dining table that sits 4-5 comfortably.

  • Such a wonderful trip. Eddie worked so hard on the cabin and to see what he did is just amazing. Would love to just sit a talk for a day on his journey remodeling the place, but he was able to do that through photos he placed around. Only needed to bring food and toiletries. He almost had everything else there for you. Will definitely be coming back!

Our place is at 2,500' elevation, ceiling fans to keep you cool. For winter, central heat or a fireplace keeps you snug and warm. It is so quiet you can hear wild turkeys crossing the driveway. It is close to the Blue Ridge Parkway, New River, the Wilkesboros, West Jefferson, Boone (30 min.), Virginia Creeper Trail (1 hr.), W. Kerr Scott Lake (16 miles with great mountain biking). We think you will enjoy the coziness and mountain views. Our place is good for couples and solo adventurers.
The bedroom looks out into a leafy space. Quiet sitting on the deck reveals bird sounds and sometimes wild turkey, deer or foxes. Rarely, a shy black bear makes an appearance in the blackberry thatches that line the roadway. At twilight you sometimes see a bat or two chasing bugs. A dark night showcases lightening bugs and millions of stars. It is nature alive, but only a fifteen minute drive to Coffee House, Food Lion and Bojangles Chicken.
We are only two miles from the Blue Ridge Parkway with hiking on the Mountain to Sea trail. We are about 20 minutes to the New River for canoeing or tubing. Other water sports are available at W.Kerr Scott Lake, which has several parks, boat and kayak launching.
  • This was my second stay at the cabin and of all the AirBNBs I’ve stayed in, this one is always my favorite. Jerre and Madeline are so sweet and the cabin is always clean and quiet, homey and comfortable. Can’t wait to come back in the spring!

    Kelly2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is quiet, clean with amazing views and sounds. It was a perfect retreat with great hosts. I highly recommend it.

  • Jerre’s cabin was great to stay in for the weekend. It is cozy and the views from the deck are amazing. The weather was great while we were there, and even though it rained for a little bit we could still be outside due to the covered deck.

    Alaina2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • What a wonderful stay! Our hosts simply could not have been more hospitable or done a nicer job on this gorgeous cabin. We are most definitely making this a semi-regular vacation retreat!

    Laurie2019-09-27T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful time staying here. Madeline and Jerre were so kind and helpful, and their cabin is top notch! I arrived a little late and they were outside waiting for me when I pulled up. They told me all I needed to know about my stay there and were very helpful with my travel interests. The cabin is immaculate and includes many amenities; so don't worry if you forget some of your supplies. They probably have you covered. The view from the cabin is so nice and a joy to wake up to in the morning. The stars at night were incredible; I stayed up for hours stargazing. The location is great too. It's about 15 minutes away from the grocery store and gas station, and very close to the Blue Ridge Parkway. You'll enjoy driving all around the area. Over all I'd highly recommend this cabin, but don't stay too long because I want to come back!

    Drew2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful stay and lovely cabin, exceeded our expectations with all the extras and would definitely visit again.

    Michael2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • This is a real gem of a place for a couple travelling to the Glendale Springs or the High County area of NC. Unlike most AirBnB ads, the pictures do NOT overstate the comfort of this cabin. We were greeted by our host, Madeline, who introduced us to the many amenities, including a well provisioned breakfast set up and a private outdoor shower (which we strongly recommend). She is the best AirBnB host we've every interacted with! While there is no air conditioning, there's plenty of fans and A/C is usually not needed at this altitude. My wife and I have stayed at several AirBnBs, and this was one of our best experiences. (Ok, so you've decided to book: Here's a suggestion if you have a smaller car -- like an Prius. You may want to stop, halfway down the driveway, and park in the shelter to the right. While I was able to manuever my Prius up the full driveway, it may be a challenge for others in damp conditions or if your tire tread is lacking ... this should not be a deterrent for renting, the "optional" shelter is only a few feet up the driveway.)

  • We couldn't stop saying "This is the best Air BNB we've ever stayed at!" and "This place is freaking amazing!!" Worth every single penny, and if you're on the fence... do it. You won't regret it! Beautiful views, a flowing stream, even a little waterfall upstream... totally able to swim in it! For your convenience, they have wine glasses, a bottle opener, corkscrew, hand sanitizer, firestarters, firewood, paper towels, fan, cooking spray, lighter, power banks, cords for them, bowls and cutlery, games, s'mores sticks, blankets, and more. The hammocks (plural!) are built into the ground, overlooking the stream. The bed is comfy. Did I mention the views? Oh, man. The drive to get there is incredible. Take the Blue Ridge Parkway. The campsite is very private, and even more private in the summer with the trees in full bloom. There is nothing cooler than waking up in a dome. It has many creature comforts while giving you all the unplugged joys of camping, including no cell service, which was actually heavenly. The treehouse dome stays warm even in the winter due to the wood-burning stove, which was so much fun to light! Pro tip for an easier time: Bring extra fire starters... there's a charcoal grill and two wood-burning stoves! All in all, 11/10, can't wait to return in the summer and fall! Thanks for this amazing experience!

  • I booked this as a seriously last minute trip for my boyfriend and I and our dog and could not have been more impressed. This has been on my bucket list for awhile, so when the yurt had a last minute cancellation, I jumped on the opportunity. It was the perfect getaway from our city life. My boyfriend had never been camping before, and I think this was the perfect introduction. The yurt stayed VERY warm as long as the fire was going (it got to 20 degrees outside at night, but we were more than comfortable inside). My dog loved everything. We made all of our meals on the outdoor fire, and heated up coffee on the fire stove inside. I seriously cannot stop telling people about this perfect trip and I cant wait to return in the summer and take advantage of the beautiful stream.

    Meredith2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The Treehouse Dome was an unexpected jewel with it's clean and unique accommodations. We enjoyed camping with a "pampered feel". It was the perfect romantic hide away that we were hoping for. Can't wait to plan a summer time trip!

    Tanya2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • I have stayed in several AirBnbs over the years traveling for work and I truly believe that @glampingunplugged was by far the best host out of them all. Words can't describe how amazing out winter getaway at Treehouse Dome was! The location was beautiful and the dome itself was amazing. We stayed during the first below freezing snowfall of the winter - the wood stove kept us warm and cozy all night and was easy to wake up to and make coffee. All three of our dogs enjoyed splashing around in the stream and hiking several local trails. We will definitely be return guests in the summer once the weather is warmer!

    Nicole2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed every moment we had at the treehouse dome!! There wasn’t anything we did not enjoy, from the amazing location overlooking the river, to morning coffee on the hammocks, we left the dome feeling incredibly grateful for our stay! If you are wary of winter Glamping know that the wood fire stove kept us warm and cozy throughout the nights (which got down to the low 20s). As for our pups, they enjoyed every amenity the dome had to offer, especially the river!

  • This is by far the most unique and beautiful place we have stayed. If you are adventurous and love the outdoors look no further. The creek flowing below the yurt was beautiful and the sound of the flowing water provided a very peaceful sleep. Having a stove indoors made this type of stay extremely cozy despite the 20 degree temperatures. 100% recommended!

Welcome to our Moonshine Mini-Mansion. The home is on 8 acres in the beautiful foothills of North Carolina and has just the right amount of every season. Only 30 miles to Boone and 6 miles to Merlefest! The entire home has been recently refurbished with all new finishes, new paint, soft close cabinets, and new flooring. This is a cozy house, and it is on land aka 'in the sticks.' Due to it being out in the country, you may see a bug or two!
The house is 1 BR, 1 BA, but does have 2 queen memory foam sleeper sofas in the den. The bedroom has a queen bed and the bath has a tub/shower combination. You will have to move side tables and coffee tables to 'open' the sleeper sofas in the den. We have a drip coffee maker, a cappuccino machine, French press and coffee bean grinder available for your use. We provide basic coffee, beans and small creamers. Shampoo/conditioner/body wash is also available for your use. Wilkes County locals call the town the "Moonshine Capital of the World." I'm not sure if that’s true but most everybody you talk to up there can probably tell you a moonshine story. My grandpa even had a moonshine still at one point and his dad was the sheriff! Wilkes County is proud to now have a Moonshine distillery - Call Family Distillery. They have moonshine pictures, stories, cars and LOTS of moonshine – the legal kind that you can buy if you are old enough. This home is just about 5-10 minutes off of Highway 421 and is a great home base for things to do in the area. What to do: There are several festivals in Wilkes County. October welcomes autumn with the Brushy Mountain Apple Festival. This is their 42nd year and my Mom remembers the first one. It was much different than today’s festival which hosts over 125,000 in attendance. We recently had the Peach Festival and FaithFest. MerleFest is a “traditional plus” 4-day music festival that is heralded as one of the best in the country. FULL DISCLOSURE, PLEASE READ BEFORE BOOKING: This home was hand-built in the 1940s which means everything may not be completely plumb (straight, even, level, etc.) A few notes –some of the ceilings are a little less than normal height so if you are a little more than normal height, we might not be a good fit. We are out in the country so sometimes there may be country smells and such like skunks, bugs and chickens. You may also see wildlife in the yard. Please do not approach wildlife or leave food out for them. The Moonshine Mini-Mansion sits on just under 8 acres of land. There is PLENTY of parking and a 2 car carport. There is a huge double tier deck so you can enjoy the beauty of the nature around you.
Enjoy the quiet of country living. There are plenty of places nearby to eat and shop and LOTS of festivals in the area. Cagneys is great for breakfast. Roselli's is the closest place to eat and it is FANTASTIC!!!! The custard-filled cream puffs are SO GOOD!!!! Their salad is famous as are all their Italian dishes. Their hours are sporadic but well worth the wait. MOONSHINE - legal moonshine is made at the Call Distillery nearby. If you are of age, you gotta try it! They have flavors as well as regular and lots of pictures and memorabilia. Very cool!!
  • A perfect mountain getaway and only minutes from anything you would be interested in seeing or doing.

"A View for Two" is a rustic, custom-built tiny house on wheels that's perfect for a couple's getaway or solo adventure. Huge windows allow you to take in the expansive views of Grandfather Mountain and countless other peaks. The spacious deck and firepit allow you to further enjoy the vistas while relaxing in nature. Comforts like a heat pump, WiFi, smart TV, Instant Pot oven/air fryer, and induction burners allow you to get the most out of indoor living too!
"A View for Two" is part of a small tiny house community that includes four tiny houses. Each house can be rented separately, but we also host weddings and events.
The best thing about our neighborhood is that it's not one. Four tiny houses share acres and acres of land that's out of the way yet just 20 minutes to Boone and even closer to West Jefferson. The Blue Ridge Parkway and the New River are just around the corner.
  • Such a beautiful home. Very cute style, amazing amenities and had an amazing view of the mountains. Only one suggestion for travelers is to bring blankets it can get a bit chilly in the winter but I have no complaints at all. David was fantastic.

It was a super clean place and perfect for two people. We loved the location of the house and the views from the deck were amazing. David was super quick with his responses and helpful when we asked him questions. The location of the house is awesome as well. Close enough to Boone to get the things you need and have somewhere for nightlife. All in all a great trip and will most definitely be staying there again!

During COVID19 social distancing. I am blocking three days before and after each stay. Of course if you are sick please reschedule. This will make our tiny cabin a safe getaway during this time. Our private tiny glamping cabin with loft is located on 40 acres just off the Blue Ridge Parkway. Just down the road you can enjoy rafting, hiking, fishing, mountain biking and waterfalls. Additional camping options are also available on the property. please read the description to learn more
During COVID19 social distancing. I am blocking three days before and after each stay. Of course if you are sick please reschedule. This will make our tiny cabin a safe getaway during this time. A couple things you should know. This is basically a spectacular glamping experience. I love the bees and pollinators so I plant wildflowers and do not mow much on the greater property. The ladder to the loft is steep so always face the ladder when going up or down. There is a futon downstairs if you do not want to use the ladder. Well behaved kids and dogs are an option if you contact me ahead of time. We have a small gas grill, a toaster oven, mini fridge, electric kettle, lights, heater, a campfire circle and a composting toilet. No running water but plenty of water is provided. The shower and facilities with running water are at the main house with your own private entrance. There is some debris on the property due to a tornado last year (see photos) The driveway is gravel and a bumpy mountain road so take it slow. Be sure that you get detailed directions from me because google may not find us. If there is snow you will need 4wheel drive, please check with me about conditions.
Our tiny cabin is right on The Blue ridge parkway with the Mountain to Sea trail just at the top of the drive. We are located about 30 minutes from Boone, West Jefferson, Blowing Rock and Todd NC. Just down the road you will find the New River, rafting, the frescoes at Obids, our neighbors offer Yoga, ballroom dancing, paragliding and you can sign up for a chance to visit The Dark Sky observatory.
  • Beautiful stay! Smells like cedar has everything you need. We had plans to leave early to go hiking but decided to stay late instead and relax with a beautiful view. Highly recommend.

    Dora2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • I came here on a solo trip to get away for a few days and I can not believe how refreshed I felt after. The location is beautiful, and it's a short drive from some very pretty hikes such as Cascade falls. I loved the tiny cabin and it further pushed my HGTV dreams of owning one myself. Cooking was easy on the gas grill, even in winter, and when I was feeling adventurous I cooked over the campfire a bit. The dog there (i didn't catch their name) was so polite and playful, we played fetch around the cabin and he watched me cook my meals. I'm allergic to cats so I couldn't play with Finn as much, but I still enjoyed his company while building a campfire and got to pet him a bit with gloves on. My only recommendation for visitors is confirm that you can make it down the driveway in bad weather conditions. Luckily I was able to drive through mud even in my hatchback because it is manual, however I would be cautious nonetheless.

  • Such a great escape and beautiful area! I loved bringing my youngest daughter (age 20) here so we could ski in nearby Blowing Rock. We loved how cozy it was and how quiet the area is at night. Everything was pristine and well thought out. Bedding was so soft, gorgeous view, and the little kitchen was just perfect. One of our favorite parts were being outside at night because you can look up and see all the stars so clearly. What a respite from the hustle and bustle of the city! I plan to come back next year, as soon as I can get my calendar together. Don’t miss this wonderful experience!!

Very private and quiet cottage in the trees yet only about a mile from the heart of town. Updated with new stainless steel appliances. Queen bed. Big screen tv with streaming services. Easy hop to Blue Ridge Parkway, wineries and Boone. Less than 4 miles and 8 minutes to Wilkes Community College. Watch wildlife from the private rear deck or walk the 2.6 acres of grounds, part wooded and part landscaped gardens. The cottage is closer to the neighboring farm than it is to the main house.
Front covered porch and back deck allow interaction with the outdoors. Deer can be seen just outside the property fence and many different birds live on the property: hawks can be seen and owls heard. The cottage is cozy, perfect for two. There is a living area, bedroom, bathroom with shower and a table for two in the kitchen area. The laundry room is downstairs in the basement, accessible from outside steps or stairs.
A very quiet residential neighborhood borders the property on one side with a creek below us on a farm. The farmer has given permission to walk the farm road along the creek. In fact, the cottage is closer to the farm than to the main house. The cottage is not visible from the street and barely visible from the main residence. Despite the privacy, we are quite close to shopping and restaurants in downtown Wilkesboro and North Wilkesboro.
  • Private quiet, and wonderful cottage.

The host was very responsive and gave great directions and instructions on how to access the cottage. It was close to downtown Wilkesboro. Traveling back and forth was a breeze. I would definitely stay here again.

This house was designed and built just for your perfect getaway. It's nestled high up on our family land with hundreds of acres of pure nature surrounding, you can see three different states, the ski slopes and a perfect sunset every single night right in front of you! The main floor has a super cozy living, dining and kitchen followed by the bathroom and bedroom with a king sized bed. The upstairs is a children's loft with 3 single beds.
The space mocks a tiny house, but with a larger foot print. The whole property along with 3 other similar units can be rented for weddings, gatherings or whatever you choose. The 4 total cabins sleep 15 comfortable and there is a flat knoll for event tents.
Our cabin is located way back in the woods behind other properties and off the maps. Please make sure to read our directions, thanks

  • If your wanting a nice, quiet get away with a view that you can’t really find other places, this would be your place! Jason was fantastic with communication and even went out of his way to make sure we had a grill and propane to cook some steaks on so we didn’t have to haul our own! The house was called “tiny” but it was more than enough room for my wife and I, along with another couple. The house was about 20 mins from Boone which was convenient and the directions to find it were excellent. Highly recommend!

  • Mike’s treehouse is beautiful and in a beautiful part of NC. We enjoyed our stay and will be visiting again in the future. Can’t recommend it any higher!

    Thomas2020-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • The treehouse was amazing. We had some snow the night we arrived and the next morning and it was magical. It was great to be among the trees and just read and nap by the wood stove. Due to the cold temps there was no water running to the house, but Mike was great and left us plenty of water and we could refill if needed. Mike is a great host and we are already planning to go back!

  • Was an amazing stay would 10/10 recommend

    Jordan2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We were looking for something off the beaten path that was unique and cozy. This did not disappoint. Living on the coast my daughters had never seen snow and we were fortunate to see snow flurries and glorious views without having to leave the treehouse. Board games were played, fires were made, and we enjoyed a much needed digital detox. We took a short drive to the ski resort to check out snow tubing and hit up a local spot for the most delicious breakfast (Hillbilly Grill). We even ventured out once more for craft brews and foosball (Pedalin Pig). Mike is an amazing host and gave us some tips for places to go and had ample firewood to make sure we were safe and warm.

    Cristina2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect spot for a retreat! Off the beaten path, but still close enough to wander into town. Mike is a super helpful host. 10/10 would book again

    Hunter2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • If you're even remotely interested in staying in a tree house you need to book here.

    Elise2019-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • The treehouse was beyond what we could have imagined for our Thanksgiving getaway. We wanted to disconnect and experience something totally new, and this provided everything and beyond our expectations. The kitchen (and grill) was fully stocked for all of our Thanksgiving feast needs. The wood burning fireplace provided heat and comfort the entire stay. The bed was extremely comfortable and waking up with the views of the most incredible sunrise from the bed was something we'll never forget. Let's also not forget about the outdoor shower (very fun) and the composting toilet (very adventurous). The land was very private and had a pond with 7 ducks that greeted us when we arrived. Location was perfect, we drove about 45 minutes to the Rough Ridge Overlook hike that we thoroughly enjoyed. We will truly miss this AirBnb.

  • My fiancé and I decided on a spontaneous overnight trip to the mountains and Sky Retreat was the perfect place to stay. The cabins are lovely! The property is absolutely stunning. It’s in a perfect location. All of the host and co-host were very kind and quickly responded to our needs. We greatly appreciate the amazing hospitality we were given.

    Skylar2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • This was a last minute trip that I planned for my husband and two dogs. We were so fortunate to have been one of the only people staying in the resort, allowing our dogs to run the property and have a wonderful time. Beth left a light on for us so we knew which cabin was ours since it was late and hard to see. The scenery was beautiful and we can’t wait to go back.

  • Sleeping Bear is a great place for a stay. David was an outstanding host

    Hallie2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • David and Sharon’s cabin is lovely and exceeded our expectations. We particularly appreciated the well-equipped kitchen, the fireplace, and their restaurant recommendations. This place is at the top of our list for our next visit to the area!

    Sara2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful cabin nestled in the woods at the top of the mountain. It was kept very clean and had everything you would need. The hosts were very responsive even when we had a minor issue with the remote control. The fire pit area is nice and conveniently located up a few steps off the deck close to the cabin. There was ample firewood stocked for our use. I recommend checking out the private lake in the neighborhood. Would definitely recommend for anyone looking to stay near Boone or West Jefferson.

    Josh2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was easy to get to and was super clean and comfortable. A must stay for anyone looking in the area!

It’s very quiet but there are 3 other homes within 100 yards. Home was well stocked with plenty amenities and was adequately described. Would definitely visit sleeping bear again!!

Hidden mountain escape in the coolest corner of the North Carolina Blue Ridge Mountains. Only 10 minutes from historic Downtown West Jefferson, less than 10 minutes from the New River, and a mere 25 minutes from Boone. Excellent long range mountain views from the large deck. Enjoy breathtaking sunrise views from the deck or the living room. Wood burning fireplace makes for memorable, cool and crisp evenings. Sleeps up to 8. Pet friendly (dogs only).
  • Thomas was very responsive & helpful. Check in was super easy. The cabin was amazing with the even better views. Can’t wait to come back with the family next year!

    Joseph2019-12-28T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin was truly a gem. Far enough away to feel like you are on a mountain retreat but definitely close enough to grocery stores, drug stores, and downtown for things you need. The cabin was clean and had all the amenities we needed. The owner even went to the cabin and turn the heat and some lights on for us because our arrival would be late at night on a cold night. Very thoughtful! Communication was quick and check in & check out process was clear and not an issue at all. My family (5 people) and I enjoyed our mountain getaway over Thanksgiving very much!! Highly recommend. :)

  • Great place !!

    Jessica2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • Tom is a great host! The pictures do not do it justice it’s absolutely BEAUTIFUL in person! I would though probably about 10 minutes out call Tom directly to receive directions. The GPS will take you to the back side of the house, but you will not be able to drive that route. Other than that, the community is beautiful!!! Take his recommendations. He knows what he’s talking about!!!

    Sami2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent host. Gave us ideas on what to do in town!

    Bobby2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Above it all is an understatement, the sunrise and sunsets were breath taking! Lol so was the driveway!

    Maryann2019-11-03T00:00:00Z

***Due to the NC order to shelter-at-home and the Buck Mountain community's great concern related to COVID-19, we can only rent to families that are from NC that plan to strictly shelter-in-place at this time. We regret this decision, thank you for understanding.*** Look no further...lift your eyes up to the mountains in this beautiful home. The house can sleep 12 persons comfortably. Guests can enjoy the upstairs living room with large gas fireplace or the open living area downstairs. Upstairs and downstairs have large flat-screen TV’s with a Firestick, Netflix, and lots of live TV options. We have listened to our guests that great TV is a priority. The internet is lightning fast! Aside from great TV options, we hope you have come to enjoy the great outdoors and fabulous views. The upstairs porch has comfortable rocking chairs. The downstairs porch has a large picnic table and a hot-tub. Also, for your relaxation and enjoyment, there is a charcoal grill for cooking out and hammocks for resting in the great outdoors. This is against POA rules and is strictly reinforced by residents, significant fines are involved. -A facility for garbage disposal and recycling -A secure conference facility (requires a special code to enter) -Quiet hours are between 10pm-8am.
  • What a great house!! Like all the reviews say, the view is the best mountain view we’ve seen! And you get it every night! It was so good, it gave the perfect backdrop for me to propose! (She said yes!!) They provide cornhole, there are some games, a charcoal grill, hot tub, they have it all! Stink bugs are a constant guest in the house but they let you know that in the description so it’s just part of the package! Also as stated, it’s a good 35 minute drive to any store or restaurant so this is the perfect spot to bring your food and drinks and enjoy this mountain oasis!

  • Had a really good stay. Asked if we could extend our check out time and it was not a problem. The place had a really good energy to the house that you could feel the house was decorated with care and love. Will stay again and might make it every quarter of the year come for another get away. Loved the place. If you are thinking about staying here.... do it! You will not be disappointed

  • This cabin was phenomenal. Met and exceeded our expectations. The owners were very responsive to all our questions even allowing us to a later checkout and PPV. I highly recommend this place for a home away from home for its charm and a million-dollar view. If the opportunity presented itself again we would rent this place again.

  • Wonderful experience. A very pleasant stay. We felt very comfortable in their home. Nancy and Johnathan were exceptional hosts. A lovely soaker rub with mineral salts and amenities available in the bathroom. Johnathon cooked up a hearty breakfast of scrambled eggs and sausage, toast, organic preserves and coffee and juice. The bed was comfortable and the room spacious. Close to downtown and very conveniently located. We would definitely stay there again.

  • A great house in a great Wilkesboro location. Nancy was very welcoming and a gracious host, as was her husband. I slept well, took a relaxing bath in the morning, and enjoyed coffee and breakfast in the sunroom. If I’m ever in the area again I’ll be sure to book another visit at the Loyola house.

We have 5 campsites on our land, in addition to our 6 Cabins. Campers have a picnic table and use of our Bath House with showers and restrooms. We are conveniently located about 200 yards off a main road in the country. 15 minutes away from shops and restaurants. Family friendly. No winding roads to access. The land is surrounded by trees and is about 7 acres.
This is a campsite. There is a picnic table. You have access to the Bathhouse, which has restrooms and hot showers. Family friendly retreat center.
We are in a rural type area located on a private road. While it seems we are in the woods, we are right off the main highway. :) No windy roads to find us.
  • Loretta & Robert’s place is the perfect spot if you’re looking to get away to a quiet, peaceful place with a great view of the stars. I was amazed at the space of the grounds and thoughtfulness and care of every design. I hope to return again have more time to spend at this very unique and special location.

    Jesse2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Loretta and Robert really do a great job of preparing a place that feels special and is uniquely devoted to quietude. If you want to draw closer to God (not just nature), this place will grace the effort. I expected that. What surprised me was the way the cabin arrangement with central showers and gathering places facilitated meeting the other campers in a way that none of my motels stays have ever done. Those many happy moments with fellow campers provided the true highlight of my time here.

  • This cabin was so cozy and awesome! Very small space but such a great view. Location was great as well. It was secluded enough to not be bothered by anyone but not too far from other things going on in the local community. Jason and Maritza were phenomenal host, communicating everything quickly and clearly, and even bought and washed all the sheets in a special detergent for us. Super awesome host and great cabin!!

Sleeps 6-8, River Rock offers rustic but modern comfort with WIFI, DirectTVs, heating and air conditioning, fully stocked kitchen (coffee, tea included) and bathrooms. Bed linens, towels, washer and dryer are included to make your stay comfortable. River Rock is perfect for a memorable family vacation, a romantic weekend or a honeymoon.
If you are looking for a streamside retreat, you will not find a better location anywhere. Elk Creek, which is a class A stocked trout stream and is rated as one of the cleanest in all of North Carolina; runs right in front of this cabin. The sounds of the rushing stream can be heard throughout the property and the decks on River Rock overlook the stream and a gorgeous grassy meadow where deer and other wildlife frequently roam. There is also a gorgeous stone (river rock) fireplace in the living room that creates a very warm and cozy atmosphere. The cabin has its very own fire ring (great for family marshmallow roasts ), as well as access to hiking trails which lead to beautiful waterfalls. There is also a picnic table on the property where you can sit and relax to the sounds of the stream, or have lunch in the middle of the mountains! This mountain retreat offers seclusion with easy access, but yet is convenient to area attractions as it is only 10 minutes off the Blue Ridge Parkway, 10 minutes to horseback riding at Leatherwood stables, 20 minutes to downtown Boone (great for ASU football weekends), 30 minutes to Blowing Rock (excellent dining and shopping) and 30-45 minutes to 4 different ski areas.
  • It was a great week at River Rock! John and Kim were excellent with communication and tips. Our family had so much fun hiking and making fire everyday. We will definitely be back soon!

  • River Rock and it’s owners John and Kim are both absolutely outstanding! They are quick to respond and have great hospitality. The house is very cozy and relaxing as well as clean. We definitely recommend taking a morning hike to the beautiful waterfalls behind the house and having a bonfire at night. We will 100 percent be back this year with some friends!

  • This is a great place! The house was spotlessly clean. The kitchen is fully stocked with anything you could possibly need which made cooking a breeze. The property is beautiful and spacious. Beds were very comfortable. WiFi works great, but otherwise there is no cell service. Overall we had a wonderful time and would stay again.

    Alison2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic time at River Rock. Our group of 8 booked this retreat to spend some time relaxing in the mountains - all of our expectations were exceeded and then some! Pre-trip our host provided prompt and thorough communication regarding important instructions, tips & recommendations related to maximizing our enjoyment of the property & surrounding area. The cabin was easy to find & in a great location - not too far from Boone but still felt like a true mountain retreat. The grounds of the property are truly something special. Our group enjoyed hanging out by the creek & exploring a few near-by waterfalls. The cabin itself was not short on amenities. The kitchen was fully stocked with cookware, appliances, dishes and even spices. Everything was neatly labeled, clean and easy to find. The kitchen and living room space was large and able to accommodate a few board game tournaments between the 8 of us over the course of the weekend. In each of the bedrooms we found clean and cozy bedding - including extra blankets. The bathrooms were well stocked with extra towels and toiletries. The hot-tub was definitely a highlight of our trip. Situated on the lower-deck of the cabin, it looks out across the field towards the stream. While relaxing in it you are able to feel very close to nature. Overall I can’t say enough about how great this place is - we will definitely be back!

    Emily2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • This place is great! The host has included every accommodation one could imagine. It sits on the edge of a beautiful stream, tucked into a the folds of mountain country. Truly relaxing and great way to get away from it all and clear the mind. The house is full of surprises, great games in the basement to entertain if the rain comes and huge deck on two levels offering nice views of the stream and front yard. Hot tub is a must for me and this place did not disappoint...the tub was clean and hot! Will return.

  • Cabin exceeded our expectations! My family was looking for a place large enough to allow for our large party to get together for the holidays, but still have plenty of room to spread out if needed. We ended up renting Rendezvous too and my in-laws rented Rendezvous... which can be viewed from our cabin. It was perfect! Cabin is very secluded and quiet but just a quick drive to get into town. Michelle and Jack were absolutely wonderful and always quick to respond to any of our questions or needs. Would definitely recommend and will be returning again!

    Devonne2018-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful, homey cabin. Very private. Spotlessly clean. Michelle was a very helpful hostess, stopping by to be sure everything was satisfactory. We would definitely stay here again, and recommend this home to anyone.

    Walter2018-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • Michelle and Jack's place was so quaint! We husband and I came with another couple and we had a wonderful time! Everything worked well from the fireplace to the hot tub. Michelle had notes around the house with instructions for most everything. We explored the sweet town of West Jefferson and cooked in the second night. She has many spices for your convenience. We brought our dog, Lizzie, and the fenced in yard was a great touch! We are already planning our next return to her cabin and West Jefferson!

  • We stay in AirB&B's quite frequently and in particular we stay in West Jefferson often for my husband's job. This place has been one of our best experiences so far. The cabin was spotless but also felt like home. The kitchen is very well stocked and there was plenty of toilet paper, soap, ect without the stress of needing to run out for that kind of thing. The porch was so lovely and we spent most of our time out there. We also enjoyed walking down to the river and our two little ones were thoroughly entertained by the beauty of the outdoors. We had plenty of space in the master bedroom for our toddler to have a mat on the floor and 11 month old baby in the master bathroom with his pack and play. There is a downstairs apt which it totally separate which is also nice for people who may want more space or to sleep in, ect. Highly recommend!

  • Rendezvous Too was charming, quiet, spacious and full of quaint touches that made our stay wonderful. Although not an easy launch spot for our kayaks, the short walk to the river access was an ideal spot to take our labradors for a swim. The enclosed dog area was perfect, allowing us peace of mind when it was necessary to leave the dogs behind. Communication from booking to departure was excellent. Michelle was immediately available to answer questions as needed. We have stayed at many airbnbs and this one truly felt like a home away from home. We look forward to a future stay when we return to the area.
