  • Overall this property is great! The cottage was clean and cozy, the beds were very comfortable, the property is beautiful and a short drive to the Bruce Peninsula National Park. We enjoyed the all hammocks and the campfire! I'd definitely stay again. That said - there are some important things to note if you are going to rent this place. First, the water isn't drinkable (cooking only) and at the time of writing this review it wasn't disclosed in the listing (only after booking) and the hosts didn't provide drinking water, so you have to bring in your own. Second, there are rattlesnakes on this property. We came across 2 on the property's hiking path. While rattlesnake bites are incredibly rare, just be cautious with any children (don't let this dissuade you from booking - they are all over the Bruce region). You won't be disappointed if you book this place!

  • Beautiful place in a beautiful location! The place was spotless, stylish, and a great hub to hike many of the surrounding trails in the area! We would definitely return!

  • Such a nice and cozy cottage, we had a wonderful time here. Although we met a problem with the water, John and Josie were very responsible and they gave us a great help. This place has a great location. It takes 20 minutes to get to Bruce Peninsula national Park and Tobermory.

Newly built and well taken care of with 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms Shallow water with mix rock and sand beach. Gradual decline to deep water. Fantastic sunset views across Lake Huron from many viewpoints at the cottage. Plenty of parking.
An absolutely Fantastic place to relax. You will see many many seabirds and be refreshed by the clean air and fresh breeze from Lake Huron. We have many different sitting spots at the cottage for you to enjoy at different times of the day.
Very quiet cottage bay at Larson Cove on a peninsula. There are a number of private cottages within walking distance.
  • We would definitely stay here again. The location is quiet and beautiful, around 20 minutes from the nice hikes in the area. We really appreciated the farm eggs, homemade bread and jam she left for us, it was such a nice touch.

  • Sharon is an amazing host! The cottage is amazing - we went in the winter and it’s quite a winter oasis! Sharon provides a local breakfast which makes it quite a special stay! We couldn’t have had a better weekend! Thank you Sharon!

    Meaghan2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing location! Very considerate host, who left us delicious local foods for breakfast. The house is right on the lake and has quick access to the local trails and POI's. I would totally recommend for a great group vacation! :)

    Jacob2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time at Sharon’s cottage. The area is so scenic. The view of the lake from the cottage is just amazing, and we certainly got out more this February, than we would have back home. Sharon’s place is situated in a very serene, private, peaceful, and secluded location; no white noise. -- No noise period. Tucked away in the trees in a private setting, we had fun breaking paths along the shoreline at the cottage, and also following the trails in nearby Tobermory, and Bruce Peninsula National Parks. The cottage was cozy and comfortable. The pride of ownership is obvious in Sharon’s cottage by the details in the decoration, the features, and the supplies. Sharon left us breakfast, like homemade bread, fresh farm eggs, sausages, bacon, milk, and coffee. What a special touch. Sharon was always quick in responding to questions. We would highly recommend staying here! We plan on returning in future! Thanks for the great get-away, Elena and Peter

  • What a hidden gem. Sharons home is incredible. The floor to ceiling windows are so stunning. We stayed in the winter and had amazing luck with the weather as we had sun every day which allowed us to take in the incredible views. The home has everything you need and more. Sharon is such a kind and generous host. She left us a delicious breakfast spread with such thoughtful touches. We were lucky and had the pleasure to meet Sharon as well and learn about her hobby farm and how everything she provides is actually locally sourced. The fire inside is so lovely to settle into the evening. We also put the fire pit in the backyard to good use and got to take in the stars. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to get some time away for some rest and relaxation.

    Jessica2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic location! The space is clean and very usable. We went in the winter and loved the views, would be amazing in the summer.

    Kate2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Sharon's place was perfect for a quick winter getaway. It was clean and stylish, and the location on Larson Cove along the Lake Huron shoreline was awesome! Our dog loved the yard, and the shoreline. Sharon was very easy to contact, and checking in and out was a breeze. The kitchen is large, well-stocked, and comfortable to work in, and we appreciated the espresso machine. The farm-fresh eggs and sausage was a great touch! I'd love to be back and definitely recommend!

    Quinn2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Four of us plus our pup had a great getaway at Sharon's place. The location is lovely--in a little bay on Lake Huron with great water views. I'm sure it would be an excellent summer spot, too. Note that it is up there on the Peninsula, and there are not many amenities around (especially in winter). This worked fine for us, as we were looking for a quiet retreat, but know that the LCBO and groceries are about 15-20 minutes away by car, and you won't have many options in terms of restaurants, etc. Sharon provided us with coffee, fruit, fresh baked bread, homemade jam, and fresh local eggs--so thoughtful and very delicious. Communication was great, check-in was a breeze, and we even got to check-out late on our last day. Thanks, Sharon!

  • Amazing location, property and hosts. We had the perfect holidays there. Randy (and William) were most patient and accommodating to our needs, and also very welcoming. And that fireplace and view to the lake... whoa... Definitely worthy of your holidays!

  • Great place to stay with friends! Very clean and directly on the water. Randy and William made themselves very available for communication. We would love to come back

  • Wonderful place to unwind and relax. Very peaceful surroundings, Randy and Wiliam have everything you could need for you’re stay. Amazing hosts as well.

    Josie2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Randy and William's villa is a little detached from the road and immersed in the woods just before the water. Very private and welcoming, it has direct access to a shallow bay of the lake. House accounts for living room with kitchen, 1 bedroom and 1 full bathroom downstairs. Upstairs two bedrooms and a second bathroom (no shower) + living area. The house was clean and very comfortable, we really enjoyed it. Impressive collection of vhs for rainy days :) We were a group of 8 and we went hiking to the Bruce Park, which is 15 min driving. The town of Tobermory is also perfectly in reach. I suggest to bring water since the tap has a quite mineral taste. Overall we had a delightful stay and we would definitely go again. thanks Randy and William!

Our cabin, "Off-Grid on Huron", is a small (160 sq ft) cabin with solar power - just enough for the essentials: cold drinks, hot coffee, lights, music and charging devices. The cabin sits on an acre of property with 180 ft of Lake Huron waterfront and secluded forest. We have a west-facing deck built at the water, which is perfect for sun tanning, watching the sunset over the lake or stargazing at night. There is no running water or shower. This location is best suited to campers or "glampers".
Mini fridge, coffee maker, bbq and dishes available for use.
The cabin is 4km down the road from Singing Sands National Park, a beautiful sandy beach with amenities. It is also a 12 minute drive to downtown Tobermory, and an 8 minute drive to The Grotto.
  • Cute and cozy cabin. Exactly as described.

    Marco2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Cassandra and Tyler’s cabin in Tobermory was just the perfect getaway for my partner and I and our little dog. The space has everything you need and is just so cute, quaint, and cozy.

    Courtney2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin was super cozy, with lots of little touches that made our trip super special! Even though we came in October we were still very comfortable, would definitely recommend this magical spot!

  • Beautiful place

    Zack2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing little place!! We had a fantastic weekend at this little cabin. It is so cozy and the bed is surprisingly very comfortable! The cabin is very private and the waterfront is beautiful. Sadly it was too chilly to go swimming. All in all - we loved it!!! Would definitely like to stay here again.

    Rhiane2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • Cassandra and Tyler’s cabin was an amazing place to stay! We are used to camping in tents so this cabin was a great, comfortable treat. It was nice to have a fridge and a bbq handy as well. The water is absolutely beautiful and clean. The cabin is also so close to groceries, stores, and some national and provincial parks (Bruce Peninsula and Singing Sands, and more). We took a boat to Flower Pot Island for the day, and it was a great day trip, plus only a short drive to get on the boat/downtown. The sunsets were beautiful, and there were so many stars. I can’t say enough great things about our stay.

  • If you are looking for a quiet getaway in the general tobermory through owen sound area, you will sincerely not find better. Located right on Lake Huron (technically across the road), Helen's cabin is just a dream. Unusually spotlessly clean for a cabin, your private room is upstairs and quite large and airy. Private deck, beautiful clean large full washroom, cozy sitting area. Shared main room and front deck. I am not generally a fan of shared accommodations I generally just want the peace and quiet of a solo cabin in the woods. But I cannot say enough about Helen. What an incredible individual! Warm, welcoming, sociable and so very kind to go above and beyond what is already offered with her perfect cabin. She instantly feels like a friend...and that really cool friend who is cool to talk forever while you're in the mood but also perfectly happy to do her own thing. Very happy to have met her and connected with a kindred spirit. Location wise- you will have complete silence and a sky full of stars. Walking distance to the rocky beach to watch the sunset, 1 hour drive from owen sound, 30 minute drive into the heart of tobermory. Cute gas station and variety store named Roxys down the road, please support this lovely family! If this is your first tobermory visit, you do not want to be in town with the tourist insanity. Staying in Lions Head provides you with a proper local experience and quiet getaway

  • Helen was an amazing host - super responsive & friendly! Sometimes having only a private room in someone’s home can be awkward, but she made us feel very comfortable & provided us with great local suggestions. Her place is also very clean and well kept, the added bonus of breakfast was very lovely! Would 100% recommend!

    Danielle2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Hellen is a gracious and knowledgeable host, and was able to offer us tips for day hikes in the area that were just what we were looking for. The room and ensuite are delightfully decorated, clean, comfortable and well appointed. We had a great stay. Highly recommended.

We didn’t have any issues with the indoor bathroom in the main house, and appreciated having access to a kitchenette there as well. The beds are very comfortable too!

The bunkie is clean and adorable with cute signage such as welcome to our cabin! Barb supplies coffee, towels and all plates and utensils you could need! I would recommend the bunkie for couples or a small group of close friends! It’s definitely cozy! We really enjoyed our stay! Got great use of the bbq and fire pit on the first night! Explored the local area the next day even with the rain! We hope to return in the future!

The bunkie is larger than the pictures suggest and the airbnb is equipped for all the necessities, while also providing a feeling of staying in the woods. We particularly enjoyed the firepit, with firewood conveniently available for purchase on site.

Lake Huron Waterfront Cabin for two. Inside is a set of bunk beds (only 6'1" long), lamp, kettle, bar fridge. There is a deck with bench seating, picnic table, gas barbeque and a fire pit. Use our public bathrooms. Must bring own drinking and cooking water as bathrooms and wash station are lake water. Bring own bedding & towels. Why tent when you can have a cabin. Great for hikers on Bruce Peninsula. 10 minutes from Lions Head, 20 minutes south of the Grotto and 30 minutes south of Tobermory.
Please note: This fall we had to move the cabin from the shoreline on to one of our campsites due to the high water. I will post updated pictures in the spring as soon as the deck has been attached back on to the cabin. There is a picnic table, fire pit, and a gas barbeque on the site.
  • Great location right by Lake Huron. Lovely sunrises! Perfect spot for hikers.

  • Loved this tiny cabin right on the water! It was nicely insulated and warm and well kept and clean! Super handy to have the fridge to use. I loved having my own bench and firepit to use and enjoyed them my first night when it was cool! Beautiful location and close to lions head. Felt very welcomed! It was also very quiet, no one was around at the trailer park beside the cabin as I went during the week.

    Christina2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful location and a great value for single travelers or couples traveling.

    Colleen2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • A very beautiful and soothing vacatiin away from all the hustle and bustle of the city. So much to do in the area but sooo little time. You will never get bored. The neighbours were sooooo friendly. Ted is amazing and super kind! Cathy is very quick with responding to inquiries....and she adds so much information on what to do in the area. Definitely worth going back to!!!! Thank you for an amazing time in the cabin.

The Wee Leo is a small-space-living, waterfront cabin (500sq ft) plus a bunkie. Located on the shore of crystal clear Isthmus Bay, Wee Leo is walking distance to the public Beach, Lighthouse, Lions Head cliffs, Lions Head town’s shops and cafes, and The Bruce Trail (literally only steps away!). A fenced courtyard too! We welcome couples for RnR or water n’ hiking adventures, as well as families seeking a casual wifi free spot to connect. Kayaks, canoe, SUP...yes, on site too!
Wee Leo is a very casual, tiny house experience. Looking to unwind, to connect with nature or family & friends? Welcome! This is a special place for us, a family owned wee cabin with vintage windows, wood interior, and the charm of a much loved space which we love to share with guests. We do not include a cleaning fee for guests to incur so we do require that you respect the property of course, leaving it just as you found it inside and out including removing your garbage/recycling please. While a wee cozy space indoors, with 2019 installed air conditioning, the outdoor options are vast in The Bruce Peninsula. Wee Leo’s kayaks, canoe, SUP, and lawn games are on site for our guests to borrow. Wee Leo is located on prime waterfront and neighbouring cottages are close by, but all are quiet and respectful.
All generations absolutely love Lions Head! If you want complete relaxation by the waterfront, hang out in the muskoka chair and forget about checking your clock. Or, walk into town and shop at the little stores full of friendly people. Quaint but well stocked library (library has free wifi), cafes, local grocer, and every weekend the community hosts events like beach music and farmers markets. OH THE WATER! So clean! And the creme de la creme is of course the majestic Bruce Trail only steps from Wee Leo’s driveway.
  • While the cottage is tiny like the description says it was sparkly clean, and views were amazing. If you plan on exploring the trails, and soak in the views on the deck you won’t even noticed that the cottage is extra cosy. Also the bunkie exceeded expectations it was perfect as a 3rd bedroom. The amount of extras like kayaks, canoes, fire pit, games and small fenced in yard put this cottage above all others in the same price range. I’d love to rent this cottage again!

  • The Wee Leo was so adorable and exceeded our expectations! Access to the Bruce Trail can be found across the street from the driveway which made it easy to get to the trails with our pup. Laurie was so kind to offer us a gift in recognition of our anniversary. We had everything we needed, and just enough space for our family of two - plus pup. Communication was excellent throughout our stay. Highly recommend!!

    Nicole2019-10-02T00:00:00Z
  • We loved our stay at Wee Leo. Beautiful location and such a perfect cozy little place. Loved playing board games on the rainy days with a view of the water and loved sitting on the dock on sunny days. Laurie was great at replying to any questions we had and the place had just about everything we needed. One thing I would have liked to be different is a spot for our garbage/recycling or more tips for where to take them for disposal. We ended up having to take our garbage and recycling all the way home with us because we could not find a waste disposal area. But overall great place, highly recommend!

  • The kids and I really enjoyed this cottage. We had a great time on the water with the canoe and kayaks. The space was very clean and a lot of thoughtful touches that made our stay extra special. Great location! The sunsets were amazing!

  • A really cute little place. Great location with the Bruce trail literally out the back door. Water access is great too. Nice big yard for playing provided games. Especially loved watching the baby ducks swimming back and forth all day. Great location to explore the peninsula!

    Dianne2019-07-27T00:00:00Z
  • Excellent location, had a great time exploring the water.

    Jim2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • A very nice place, wonderfully furnished and perfect for relaxing. Laurie was a great hostess for us. We would come again and again.

    Claudia2019-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely loved our short visit at the Wee Leo. The photos on the listing dont even do it justice! It was better than I ever imagined it to be. So quiet & peaceful. Everything you need and more right in the cottage. Super clean & the overall vibe of it was just perfect for my husband and I. Communication with the host was quick and easy at any time, check in super easy as well. In close proximity to all the national parks along the peninsula. Also I have to add that my all time favorite part was that you can see the ENTIRE MILKY WAY right from the backyard if you stay up late enough and get a clear night. Breathtaking! All of it! We cannot wait to come back ❤

  • Due North cottage was a great place for my family and I to be socially distant while still enjoy the beauty of a white, sandy beach and sparkling clear water! As cleanliness was of most concern during this troubling time, Nicole did a lot to ease my concerns, explaining that all touch points (even the bottoms of the window blinds) would be disinfected and fabrics would be sprayed with Lysol in addition to all of the regular cleaning. This was apparent upon arrival! Nicole was also diligent in screening us and other renters to ensure we were following social distancing guidelines set out by the ministry of health. The cottage has been extensively renovated (new floors, walls, bathroom, fireplace insert, countertops, water treatment systems, etc.) and is very tastefully decorated with new furniture! The only disappointment we encountered was not being able to use the patio doors which faced the beach. Nicole explained that they slide easily off the track and renters have left them off the tracks before; however she assured me that the doors would be replaced in the spring. Nicole and Justin have even thought of providing a humidifier in the main area (as the cottage is primarily heated by wood, which is a dry heat), a dehumidifier in the bathroom and an extra little, modern space heater in the kids bedroom. Dishes and cutlery were plenty, however, I would suggest bringing wine glasses as there were no glass wine glasses in the cupboard (only plastic and decorative glasses on a shelf). There is also a fire pit which we enjoyed, roasting marshmallows, and usually a lot of beautiful places to hike (however, all of the provincial parks were closed due to COVID-19 during our visit). Although it was chilly during our visit in March, we loved sitting on the beach while the kids explored the shoreline. Looking forward to visiting this beautiful gem again!! Thanks Nicole and Justin

  • This cottage was the stuff of dreams! Beautifully and thoughtfully decorated. Could sit in front of the wood burning fireplace and eat meals with views of the lake forever. The perfect place for a quiet winter getaway.

    Anna2020-03-18T00:00:00Z
  • That view! Pictures don't really do it justice. Sunsets and stargazing are fantastic on the beach. We had a truly wonderful stay and it was difficult to leave! Justin and Nicole were very communicative and the fireplace added so much coziness to our winter getaway weekend. Highly recommend.

Private & cozy water front 1100sqft 3+1 bedroom cottage located on Porcupine Point on Dorcas Bay. Cottage is surrounded by cedars, pines and other trees. Take the few steps up to the side door and enter into the cottage. In the efficient kitchen you'll find many of the amenities of home including fridge, stove/oven, microwave and more for your convenience. The dining table offers seating for six to enjoy a sit-down meal together with a ceiling fan overhead.
In the living room space there are two couches and a coffee table (perfect for board games!) and a 27" TV with DVD player for your movie-watching entertainment. A ceiling fan is also overhead. Tucked in the opposite corner of the space is a wood stove that can help heat the cottage in cooler weather. Patio doors from the living space lead out to the deck, where you'll find a patio table with umbrella and four chairs in addition to a propane BBQ for cooking up a great summer meal. Down on the yard is a fire pit that is perfect for your family campfires, as well as Muskoka chairs that are ideal for lounging in the sun, sitting by the campfire, or enjoying your favourite beverage in the fresh air. The area along the shoreline has been left natural, but you can make your way along the grasses and vegetation to the shore. The shoreline itself is made up of flat rock and rubble. Entry is gradual with deeper water the further out you go for good swimming opportunities. There is a small sitting deck near the shoreline with 2 Muskoka chairs. Have your favorite drink under the sun while watching your kids kayaking. Also enjoy the beautiful sunset and capture the memorable moments with your camera.
A fantastic public sandy beach, called Singing Sands, is an easy 8.5 km drive away from the cottage. A great beach for kids to play in the sand and to splash and play in the shallow waters. The cottage is just a 15 minute drive into the village of Tobermory where you can walk along the scenic harbourfront, eat in the restaurants, shop at the local stores, and take boat cruises out on the water. Visit Bruce Peninsula National Park and hike the trails to see what you can discover!
  • Beautiful spot, right on the water. Location was perfect: Nice and privateon one hand and still close enough to drive to the little town.

  • great place to relax

    Nick2019-09-19T00:00:00Z
  • Place was clean. Host equipped the place with sufficient utensils and supplies. Visitors can have a camp fire in the garden for smores or just gathering the family together for singing or story telling. The place also has access to the lake for water activities although not for swimming. Altogether a good place to accommodate a big group with 3+1 bedrooms, however, place has only 1 T&B. Scheduling of use is necessary if you have more than 4 persons. I would book again if I visit Tobermory again.

    Manuel2019-09-03T00:00:00Z

  • Thank you Yolanda for the great accommodation, all the tips and being a great host! We enjoyed using the kayaks a lot (a beautiful lake is just 3min walk away) and the apartment is very bright and the kitchen is great equipped for cooking (fridge, freezer, toaster, cooking plate, dishes, BBQ and a nice fire place at the terrace/ in the garden) Haven’t seen such a clean and nice airbnb before! Everything was close by and Yolanda’s tips helped a lot!

  • I stayed there on labour day long weekend. Her place was very nice and I liked the private entrance.

    Jung2019-09-01T00:00:00Z
  • Yolanda was friendly and inviting. Her space was quiet, clean and convenient to all activities around Tobermory area.

    Sarah2019-08-23T00:00:00Z
  • We were pleasantly surprised. Described without kitchen, housing has all the necessary equipment to cook (barbecue, electric plate etc ...). The place is quiet and the accommodation is comfortable. Yolanda is available and full of attention. She even gave us kayaks and the lake is a 2 minute walk. Big favorite!

    Céline2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • Yolanda is the sweetest host I’ve ever met. We enjoyed our two-day stay in Yolanda’s house. We can cook Chinese food by ourselves, and we slept well in the quiet night. We also enjoyed Yolanda’s kayaks. It was our first time trying to play a kayak, and Yolanda gave us a lot of help. Also, she gave us a big map and many suggestions about the must-visit sites. We went to all and all worth visiting! Devil’s Monument is a big surprise. My parents and daughter climbed up and down, had a lot of fun.

    2019-07-31T00:00:00Z
  • Great accommodation in a magnificent scenic location. We especially liked exploring the surroundings with kayaks. Yolanda also gave us a lot of useful tips.

    Sigmund2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Yolanda is an amazing host. Her place is spotless and comfortable. She has many, many activities at your fingertips. The area was do peaceful and beautiful! We will definitely be back.

  • This was our second time at the Weiss family cottage. It turned out to be just as delightful as the first time. We love the peace and quiet. The cottage has everything one could possibly wish for. We fell asleep to the sound of the waves, heard the Loons call several times and hiking the Bruce Trail is really beautiful at this time of year. Kristine is the perfect host, always available to answer any question one might have.

    Kathy2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • The Weiss family cottage is right on the beach facing Georgian Bay with tall bluffs rising behind. The beach is pretty with large stones which we walked to explore. Some wood had already been gathered and we had a very nice fire on the beach on the first night in the firepit. The cottage is tidy and clean with three large windows in the main room offering a great view of the Bay. The kitchen was well equipped and there's a Foodland in Lion's Head for your shopping needs. The queen bed was comfortable and a second bedroom has a bunk bed. Our host Kristine was helpful and gracious, available via phone or email although we didn't feel the need to contact her. We just spent a single night but it was memorable and we're very glad we stayed. Highly recommended.

    Paul2019-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay in your lovingly maintained family cottage. The location, right on the pebble beach, and views are spectacular. The cottage was super well equipped. You really thought of everything. We appreciated the silence, the stars and the crystal clear waters and did a lot of reading, exploring and swimming. It was perfect for 'getting away from it all'. We would love to do this again and bring our kayak.

    Kathy2018-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Kristine for trusting our family with your beautiful family cottage. You were a pleasure to deal with and we couldn’t have asked for a better location. What a fair price! We hope to be back soon. Cheers!

    Bruna2018-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the Weiss family cottage exceeded our expectations! It is in an absolutely incredible spot - right on the beach, white bluffs on one side and Lion's Head provincial park on the other - beautiful views. The sunrises and sunsets are fantastic to watch from inside the large windows, or anywhere outside. Our 4 year old daughter had a wonderful time, even on a rainy day; we loved partaking in the Weiss family tradition of rock painting. We spent a lot of time hiking, which was really easy to access. We also enjoyed sunny afternoons swimming out front of the cottage in the crystal clear waters, and fires at night on the beach. We had all necessary amenities in the cottage, and were well-aware to bring our own linens, which was no problem at all. Kristine was easy to communicate with, and their cottage easily felt like home. Our dog loved it! They even had a cord set up for dogs. We would recommend this to anyone - especially families, and those who love the outdoors (anyone who rock climbs would love the proximity to the bluffs). A vacation to remember, for sure.

    Jennifer2018-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Lion's head is a beautiful village that we had discovered. The lake and the cliffs got everything we want to explore such as the beach and caves. A good size cottage for a couple to spend quality time. Nice and quiet environment with a private beach. Beautiful sunrise! The host has suppied plenty of cooking utensils. Lots of chairs and an open seating area. Big windows that can see the Smokey head from inside. Great views everywhere!

Please read all of the ad details before booking. This cottage was built in the 70's. It's not particularly well built or equipped by modern standards. It's what cottages used to be - a big step up in comfort from camping, but not the same standard as homes. You'll need to bring your own sheets, pillow cases, and towels. There isn't a dishwasher. The water from the tap is good for washing but not drinking. There won’t be a cleaner coming after you, so please clean before leaving.
Cottage size: This is a two bedroom cottage. It’s 750 sq ft inside with a 250 sq ft deck. Beds: In total there are four double mattresses. Each of the two bedrooms has a double bed, and the living room has two futons. Toys/amenities: Two canoes, two kayaks, a larger aluminum row boat, BBQ, some board games and puzzles, kids toys, high chair. Feel free to use anything you see. Treat the place like it's yours. If there's a boat or a windsurf board that looks like fun, get it in the water. If you break it just let me know and we'll work it out. Most of the equipment was purchased used and isn't difficult to repair or replace.
Groceries are available in Lion's Head and Tobermory, both about 30 minutes away. These grocery stores are a bit smaller and more expensive. Wiarton is the closest "regular" grocery store with full selection and lower prices. If you're driving up from the south I'd purchase groceries in Wiarton.
  • Greta fun, tons of toys and boats. Wonderful outdoors.

  • This place is much better than what is mentioned in the listing, perfect place for summer vacation, good to have fun at water...boats and bikes are little old but in good condition to use.. Doesn't have Internet or Cable but I believe that is even better to enjoy Vacation and do more outdoor activities, however Cell phone reception is good hence nothing to worry much about communication. better to carry any Groceries and food items with you or else nearest one to get them is Tobermory which is 30 mins away.

Originally built in 1870 as a Homestead, this fully updated cottage has a charming atmosphere of old rustic character mixed with modern amenities. Feel like you are a world away from the hustle and bustle of the city while sitting on the large covered porch listening to the waves crash against the shore. A stay at the Homestead will have you feeling rested, recharged, and ready to take on daily life.
The Homestead is a 3 storey cottage built completely above ground. It is nestled into the Escarpment with stunning views across Georgian Bay. The basement is a large open space great for movie or game nights. The main floor features a large open kitchen with dining area, living room, full bathroom and mud room. The third storey features 3 spacious bedrooms and one semi-private room, but also offers the most stunning views of the bay. A large covered porch and outdoor firepit add to the overall experience.
Dyers Bay is a small cottage community located on the shores of Georgian Bay. Nestled between a stone beach and the escarpment, the views are simply breathtaking. A Semi-Private Beach boasting 1000 feet of frontage shared between 4 cottages provides a quiet place to soak in the sun and the bay. The Homestead Cottage is located on a Dead End Street at the very end of the community. The Bruce Trail and Cabot Head Lighthouse are only a short distance away.

  • David’s Homestead Cottage was lovely! The home is historic and beautiful!! David was responsive and helpful. Absolutely loved the place, but I was expecting it to be on the water. It is a walk / drive to the water and the road was closed in the winter. Perfect home base for checking out the Bruce Peninsula National Park and Devils Monument!

The place had all the necessary amenities/linens etc provided, as promised. The check-in was incredibly easy and straightforward; Emily was organized and responsive throughout. • Ashleigh and Sean’s B&B is a very cosy little house very near the center of Tobermory. Restaurants, shops, attractions...all in walking distance. Our room was very clean and we found a personal note there when we arrived. Ashleigh was always there in case we needed anything. I would absolutely recommend staying there.

    Elizabeth2019-09-11T00:00:00Z
  • Ashleigh and Sean’s Airbnb is a true gem in Tobermory. The room was comfortable and clean. The shared bathroom was also extremely tidy. The breakfast was phenomenal and filled us up until well past noon which is great as we were able to get by with trail mix and packed snacks while exploring the grotto/flowerpot island. While breakfast is usually at 9am, Ashleigh was kind enough to prep the breakfast a little earlier for us to accommodate our cruise schedule. Thank you Ashleigh and Sean for such a memorable stay! We will definitely be back here for our next Tobermory trip 😁

  • My husband and I stayed at Dales for 4 nights. Dale was around at check-in to welcome us and answer any questions. The cottage is an excellent location for traveling around the area and it’s a great place to just hang around during the day or in the evening. The place has everything you need for your stay. Great place to see the stars at night.

    Dusty2019-09-09T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at the cabin and Dale even allowed us to use his kayak and spend time on his personal property. The cabin is right by the water, which is amazing, and we enjoyed spending the evening star gazing by the bonfire. Nothing went wrong and the cabin itself was very tidy and clean, comfortable for the 4 of us. It was a great experience, highly recommended.

  • The location is beautiful and tranquil, right on the water with views of the night sky like I have never seen before. Dale was an excellent host, making sure we had important information regarding grocery access and key tips for visiting popular tourist destinations. Would highly recommend if you are looking for a quiet cabin retreat!

    Rebecca2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • This place exceeded my expectations. It is such a perfect little paradise, it's quiet, relaxing and has an amazing view. The sunsets were unforgettable and the stars were as well! Loved sitting by the fire, (a large amount of firewood available for only $5 through Dale) even had a little duck keep us company the one night. Having a separate bathroom made me nervous at first, however it was extremely clean and Dale added so many little touches it was not at all an issue. The cottage itself was also very clean and had everything we needed, and more! Anything else that we needed we got at the adorable General Store about 2 minutes down the road. Swimming in front of the cottage is not recommended, however this was fine because Dale and his lovely wife once again showed their amazing hospitality by offering their cottage area across the road for swimming (and wifi), which included paddle boards, a kayak and a little peddle boat! Super friendly and accommodating, and Dale had great tips about local places to visit! Really can't wait to go back, wishing we were still there the moment we left!

    Devin2019-08-21T00:00:00Z

Newly renovated, very clean, private and just steps into the Lake. Enjoy the beautiful sunsets over the trees from the upper or lower deck and star gaze by the fire at night. The cottage is 20 minutes to Tobermory, Fathom Five, 15 to the National Park (Grotto), Singing Sands, Lindsay Tract Trails and the Bruce Trails just to name a few. If your a scuba diver Tobermory is world renowned for its shipwrecks. 3 night minimum booking. 7 night minimum booking during July/August. (Friday to Friday)
The cottage is 1400 square feet, bright and spacious for large families, girls get aways or cozy enough for a couples retreat. Across the front and on one side are plenty of large windows to take in views of the lake, trees and wildlife. There are new chairs and side tables on the upper deck and a comfortable dining area with a shade umbrella on the lower deck. The whole cottage has been freshly painted and has a new 4 piece bathroom and new 2 piece bathroom. A full kitchen renovation and new flooring in the main living area was completed in 2018. The loft area, 4th bedroom, is ideal for kids to hang out in their own space to play boardgames, read books or watch movies on a rainy day. All the mattresses are newer and of good quality and comfort. Both box spring and mattresses are fully encased along with the pillows. Larry’s Lake is shallow with a sandy area to enter the water and is non-motorized, which makes it very peaceful and ideal for younger children to walk right in swim or splash around. Out in the centre of the Lake is (5-7ft) deep with a communal raft to enjoy. If you are a bit adventurous you can make your way through a wetland area into Lake Huron. Provided for water fun is 3 kayaks, (2 are kid size max 150lbs) a canoe and a row boat, some swimming noodles and a variety of life jacket sizes are available. The shoreline has a small sandy beach with a hard rock bottom and a layer of silt and water shoes are recommended. There is a brand new propane bbq (2020) as well as an outdoor fire pit to roast marshmallows and view the stars. Provided for outdoor fun is a giant Jenga game, frisbee, corn hole and ladder toss. The television in the loft is a smart tv (27") and the other (58") has satellite with a Blu Ray player. Free unlimited Internet access is also provided. A new well and UV system was put in place in May/2018. However if you are used to municipal treated water we recommend drinking bottled water and we provide one complimentary case for you. The kitchen is fully equipped for your cooking convenience. Provided also is a blender, griddle, crockpot, Keurig, 10 cup coffee maker and an insulated picnic basket to take packed lunches or snacks. Bed linens, pillows, shampoo, soap, bath tissue and bath towels are also provided for you. Upon your arrival the owner will meet with you to show you around and answer any questions you may have regarding the property. Provided for your convenience are plenty of brochures and information to see the sights and navigate the area. The host is available 24/7 for any questions and to help plan your stay. If you plan to attend the Grotto at the Bruce Peninsula National Park, parking reservations are required during the peak summer season there is a website but I’m not able to post that on the Airbnb site. The contact number is 1-877-RESERVE
The neighbourhood is surrounded by lots of trees and wildlife. Feels like your in the woods when you pull in then opens up to the Lake. You can't see the neighbours on the right and the cottage to the left is set back from the water with their fire pit close to the shoreline but separated by a privacy area.
  • Kim was a thoughtful considerate host. She exceeded all expectations and really went the extra mile to make a charming, stylish and comfortable lodging and was very quick to respond to any inquiries made. This place is absolutely five star worthy! I just want to give a note on the king size bed, that it’s two separate mattresses on a single frame. It’s the same size as a king but you can definitely notice it in the middle, that it’s two separate mattresses. That said the bed was very comfortable, and we had no issue sleeping on the “king”. The sheets are still king, the frame is for a king and the mattresses aren’t going to split apart or anything, it’s just a bit noticeable in the center where the two mattress’ meet. Highly recommended!!!

  • Kim was an amazing host. Her place was super clean, cozy and easy to get too. There was a lot to do at the cottage. We played board games, did outdoor activities and relaxing on the dock, that’s how we spent our 4 days. Great location, about 20 minutes from town. Kim, made sure we were comfortable and if we needed anything at all she was only 30 minutes away. She made our stay comfortable and worry free. I would love to come back again. I would recommend Kim’s place to everyone. I plan to visit again myself :)

  • Perfect location for a romantic winter getaway! We loved using the provided snowshoes to explore the Bruce Trail during the day and watching it snow while cuddling by the fireplace in the evening. It was easy to unplug and just relax. Very happy with our stay!

  • Great communication from the start with Susan. We spent two nights there. The place was sparkling clean. Nice added touches. Also great location to explore Tobermory and surrounding area. Many thanks!

  • This is a fantastic Airbnb. Lovely setup, and a truly amazing host who pays attention to the small yet important details, is quick to respond, and goes above and beyond. Rented this for my elderly grandparents who needed somewhere to stay for a week and Susan was so thoughtful and attentive to details making them at ease during their stay. Susan is a super host!

  • I was very surprised that the actual cottage and grounds looked better than the online pictures! I look at real estate photos all the time and am many times disappointed at how small actual rooms are or how the pics are only the highlights and the rest of property is rundown or needs work. Not the case here at all. Beautiful grounds, cottage, setting, views, etc. Chris was an excellent host and responded promptly to any inquiries I had. Very glad that we took a chance on a long drive. Thank you Chris!

    Karen2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is beautiful and views didn’t disappoint. Great movie collection for those rainy days!

    Jeremy2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • This home was a very special place which offers spectacular views and a wonderfully comfortable place to just sit and enjoy family time together. Tucked away yet still only a few minutes away from a lovely small town, this property offers waterfront views and so much more. The house has all the amenities a family could need to cook and stay put. Puzzles, movies, comfortable and lovely unique furnishings adorn the place making it enjoyable to just sit and enjoy the view. The owner was excellent in informing us of the procedures and kept in contact with me during the process. The neighbors were also very friendly. Local hikes are within walking distance and an exceptional trail to a lookout is found in Lion's Head. We really loved the beauty of the National Park and found the Visitor's Center to be one of the finest we have visited. The website to Bruce Peninsula National Park was a very clear website which enabled us to plan our visit. We went on a wonderful boat ride to Flowerpot Island and enjoyed our hike and four hour stay on the island. I only wish we had more time to just sit at the house and relax. On our final night we marveled at the presentation in Lion's Head about the Dark Night and enjoyed looking through the telescopes of the volunteers who brought them so we could view some of the constellations and stars not available to view in a big city. One piece of advice is the stores close early, so check times so you can plan accordingly. Thank you to our host for sharing such a lovely place with our family.

    Katie2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Everything we have been offered was excellent quality. The location was great! We get an awesome sunrise and we were also near a lake. The cottage was very clean and the decoration was very old styled which many of us liked. The host’s family is very friendly. The only problem we had was the amount of days we only wanted to pay. You’re only able to pay for a minimum of 1 week and a week was a little too long for us. We really only needed 3 - 4 days.

    Rachel2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • This is our 4-5th year there! Love the common spaces, swimming and access to local hikes on the Bruce trail. Appreciate the newly painted inside. We all enjoyed our week. All feel renewed and appreciate the views!

    Patti2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • Views from this cottage are breathtaking. It is absolutely beautiful and we enjoyed every minute!

    Sheila2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great holiday with our adult children during our one week stay. The view is incredible and we enjoyed many sunrises across Georgian Bay. The stone millwork on the property gives it a European feel and the stone boat house is adorable. The deck and views are gorgeous looking out at Lions Head cliffs. The rooms were as described with no surprises (unless you forget your own bedding, which did didn’t). Tobermory is a 30 minute drive and a great town to visit. We hiked in the Bruce Peninsula National Park and hiked to the Grotto. We also biked and hiked closer to the property. The kayaking was gorgeous below the cliffs. You will not be disappointed.

  • The captain’s room looked better than the photos! It was spacious and clean. It felt like a nice hotel room. The mini fridge in the room was a lifesaver for keeping our hiking lunches fresh. You also couldn’t pick a closer spot to the town/dock area. We didn’t have to drive anywhere for the duration of our stay because all of the restaurants and the boat tour were within walking distance. Ashleigh checked us in and had a ton of suggestions for places to go. She is a real pro. The breakfast was also good and we didn’t get to see the cats a lot because they were staying in the basement. Would love to return!

  • Excellent host and lovely little cottage with it's own quirks

    Neil2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Wendy was very accommodating on the day we arrived. Since the check in is later than you would be used to Wendy allowed us to drop by and leave our stuff while the place being cleaned up and ready for us. We already had a boat tour ready so it worked out great. The only negative I would say would be the firmness of the mattresses. They seem to be somewhat older so they are quite firm and ended up making our backs sore, but otherwise great. Fantastic location, place to park, super friendly host.
