Due to Covid19 dates in April and May have been restricted and we are not taking bookings for these months as we will be closed. Please message us should you have a booking enquiry. Stunning studio loft apartment situated just 200 metres from the sea and beach. Wake up to the view of the Sea. Self contained, self catering with kitchen. Private access to apartment from Top Road. High spec finish within. Wifi with all the mod cons! Minimum 2 night stay.
Wake up to the sea at the end of your bed! Some low sloping ceilings due to it being a loft. Always cleaned to a very high standard.
Small friendly community with great local facilities. This is the best place in Cornwall to spend your summer holiday. I know I am biased as I have lived here for 30 years but honestly, it really is! Downderry has a shop, cafe, pub and restaurant all just 1 minutes walk from the house. The pub 'The Inn On The Shore' is situated right on the sea front and is a great place to enjoy local ales over looking the sea. The shop is a good size and has everything you might need with daily deliveries of fresh food as well as a post office. There is a very popular vegetarian cafe called 'Something Different' in the middle of the village. The Blue Plate restaurant is stunning and very popular locally with an excellent reputation for good food and service, it also has a deli that is open daily. Downderry beach is just 100 metres from the loft which is a family friendly beach used by many of the locals. It is sandy with a few pebbles here and there and has lovely rock pools on low tide to explore. Perfect place for kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, swimming and snorkelling. You can walk all along the beach from Downderry to Seaton. Seaton Beach is just half a mile West of Downderry and is lifeguarded by the RNLI from May - September. Seaton also has 1 bistro beach bar, 1 pub, beach cafe, toilet facilities, children play area including a multi games area and a country park with river valley walks so plenty to do. Just 6 miles to the East the stunning Whitsand Bay is a must. 5 miles of golden sands at Low tide. Adventure Bay Surf School operate from Tregonhawke Beach. It has 4 lifeguarded beaches along its coastline. Just check tide times and swim at the lifeguarded beach in between the red and yellow flags. The area is known for its good surfing waves and subsequent rip currents. Kingsand and Cawsand are beautiful and. Stones throw from Whitsand Bay. Lovely little fishing villages with cobbled streets over looking the mouth of Plymouth Sound. Close by is Mount Edgecombe County Park which has a stately home and gardens to explore as well as a restaurant in its orangery. From Cremyll you can get a foot ferry to Royal William Yard which is over the river Tamar within Plymouth. It is a former vittaling yard which has been converted in to stunning restaurants, bars, and Shops. Well worth a visit. The Hoe and the Barbican area of Plymouth are also well worth a visit, the view of Plymouth Sound from on top of the Hoe is fantastic. To the West along the coast you have the popular villages and towns of Looe, Polperro and Polruan and Fowey. All beautiful quaint Cornish coastal locations. If visiting Fowey avoid the crowds and car parking headaches by driving to Polruan on the East side of the Fowey river and get the foot ferry from the harbour over to Fowey. Everything in Fowey is walking distance. The car park at Polruan at the top of the hill is one of the most beautiful locations of any car park in the U.K. I would think! It looks out over St Austell Bay and down the Fowey River. Try it and see! On Wednesdays in the summer you can go on board a guided tour of the RNLI Lifeboat for a donation of your choice. To get to the North Coast of Cornwall is around 1 hour for places like Polzeath, Perranporth. St Ives a little further at about 1.5 hour drive. The Eden Project is about a 1 hour drive. Large supermarkets can be found at Liskeard (Morrisons) Saltash (Waitrose) Plymouth (Sainsbury's/Tesco/Asda). All but Morrisons do online ordering and home delivery to Downderry if you need to do a large grocery shop while you are here. So much to see and do both close by and a little further a field.

  • The Loft is a lovely place - just as the photos show you - the view is simply beautiful. It's a stone throw from the beach, the pub, eateries and local shop. My husband and I had a relaxing long weekend and would definitely recommend it to family and friends.

  • Had an amazing weekend at this apartment. Great views and very cosy. Extra touches such as dressing gowns, slippers, towels, beach towels, milk, butter, prosecco and even fresh scones with cream and jam. Martin met us at the door as soon as we arrived and explained everything for us along with some local knowledge of where to eat. The Coddy Shack was a favourite for us. I think it's safe to say we all fell in love with Seaton and this apartment. Will definitely be returning. Perfect weekend.

    Dan2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you Martin and Sheila for letting us stay in your beautiful home. The added touch of scones on arrival and the thoughtful gesture of eggs bread and milk were truly appreciated. Great hospitality!! Your accommodation was everything we expected and more! Stunning views were enjoyed from this ideal property and walks along the beach we’re loved too! A nice way to relax and unwind for a few days. Thank you, Cherie and Marcus.

  • THEY WERE BOTH VERY FRIENDLY AND CONSIDERATE AND ALWAYS ASKED HOW WE WERE GETTING ON AND IF WE NEEDED ANYTHING ELSE

    Philip2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Martin & Sheila are by far the best Host’s. Their hospitality was just amazing.. always made sure to check in on us and 100% insisted on coming to knock or call for them if there was anything at all we needed. Their place is so cosy and personal with its touches, it really feels like a home away from home for sure. The view was outstanding, couldn’t get enough of it. Martin and Sheila’s recommendations in places to visit and to eat were great. They also have a massive box of flayers, maps, menus, etc to help with exploring choices. (I thought that was really cool in doing that since google and the internet doesn’t always do so well haha!) Everyone was so friendly.. we went to a really nice pub for food and drinks called ‘Inn On The Shore’ in Downderry the next town on.. we walked there which took about 15-20 mins, a lovely walk with a great view of the sea. The next town Looe which was the other direction was about a 10min drive, where some lovely little cafes and the best fish and chip shops were. We also did a little shop at Co-op and the farm shop there. There’s so much more to say, however I think you all to go see the place for yourselves and stay with these lovely Host’s. Thank you again Martin & Sheila, We can’t wait to hopefully come again in the summer, we’d definitely stay with you! Chanelle and Herve Xxxx

  • Everything about the place was exceptional, stunning view, cosy and beautiful house, nice treats for us, like prosecco, enjoying the hot tub and the view at the same time. We will definitely come back one day.

    Nino2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely apartment with a most beautiful view. We had a wonderful stay and really appreciated the extra touches like a bottle of prosecco and scones in the oven to welcome us with. The hot tub was ready and waiting and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay as well as our two pooches! Thank you so much and we will be back in summer hopefully.

    Jo2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Sheila and Martin are amazing hosts, extremely welcoming and helpful and left me to enjoy the peace and quiet. The views from the property are amazing, and even at the beginning of February I managed a lunch on the balcony in the sunshine. They have very thoughtfully supplied much more than I was expecting which was extremely comforting being a lone traveller. I will return. Thank you.

    Frankie2020-02-05T00:00:00Z
  • This is a little gem. There are walks from the door, and the hosts are most helpful. The beach is dog friendly, as is the local cafe.

  • We had such a great stay at the hut. The hot tub is incredible, we loved being able to have a warm dip even though it was pretty cold and wet! The surrounding area is also beautiful, lots of lovely walks to go on.

    Ned2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great, cosy little hut and the hot tub is definitely worth taking the time to heat... even in a chilly February!

    Duncan2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely stay in the Hut. The woodburner made it very cosy and the hot tub was great..we were nice and sheltered from storm Ciara. There were some lovely walks near by, we didn't attempted the walk to looe as the wood was very muddy. Maybe we will attempt it on our next visit. Ali was great and very helpful, there was no phone signal at the hut, we had to get in the car for reception...but this wasn't an issue for us as was nice to be off the grid. We will be back for another visit!

    Jenny2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Had a lovely few days at Ali's place. Very nice and cosy, great central location and beautiful spot if you prefer to just stay put and have some quiet time. We'll be back!

  • As long as you follow Clive’s detailed instructions, you will have no problem finding the parking location and the Airbnb itself. Don’t get distracted by google maps! Once inside, you will find a delightful apartment, just the right size, with all the necessary amenities. Great shower, lots of hot water. Multiple heaters for each room. VERY well equipped kitchen. It’s quite a steep (but short) wall to the town center, so for visitors with mobility issues this might not be the best option - however, it fit our needs perfectly. We had a great trip and Clive is a very welcoming host. Thank you Clive!

    Drew2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Clive’s place is in a good location with great views of Looe. Easy walk to everything.

    Lisa2019-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Clive answered every question and went the extra mile to make sure we had all we needed for a great stay. His cottage was well equipped with even a good washer/dryer, which we took advantage of. Looe proved to be an ideal location from which to explore Cornwall. Weather prevented us from doing the entire coastal walk to Polperro, but even the first part as far as the first big climb was spectacular. We would return to Little Pudding Cottage without hesitation.

    Kevin2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Clive’s place. Ideal for exploring looe and great views from the balcony. Highly recommended!

    Darryl2019-10-03T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay at Clive's place! It had amazing views of Looe and the water! We were celebrating our honeymoon and he even went above and beyond with a bottle of bubbly. Thank you again Clive : )

SeaHut is a cabin in the clouds. It has a panoramic view from Looe in the west to Rame Head in the east, including St George's Island. It is 5 minutes walk from the beach, on the SW Coast Path and good for exploring the "forgotten corner of Cornwall". Great for walkers, cyclists or anyone who wants to enjoy the beach or simply take in the view. The view is to die for, but it does mean a climb of about 90 steps to reach the cabin - it's worth it when you get there!
The cabin is well equipped with plenty of space for 2 people. In the living room, there is kitchen area with 2 burner hob, fridge, microwave, toaster, kettle, sink and all the usual pots and pans. There is a shower room with toilet and basin and a small bedroom with a king size cabin bed. In the living room, there is a sofa, table and chairs. Outside there is a table, chairs and fire basket - everything you need to enjoy the stars and the sea.
SeaHut is half way between Downderry and Seaton - 10 minutes walk to each. As well as a great beach, mostly used by locals, Downderry has a well stocked village shop; the Blue Plate - a restaurant and deli; and the pub, the Inn on the Shore. In the other direction, Seaton has a bar and a beach cafe. The Eden Project, the National Marine Aquarium, several National Trust properties, Bodmin Moor and lots of lovely beaches are all within 45 minutes drive.
  • Great Cabin , everything you need is there for you and fab views. Sparkling clean ,

  • Great little cabin with an amazing sea view. The perfect getaway. Ample cookware and a comfy bed. We were very warm despite cold weather outside. Such good value. Would highly recommend!

    Lucy2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cabin with exceptional views and perfect size for 2 people complete with everything you need. Food at the blue plate was delicious, but it’s a shame that the local pub isn’t that great, as you do have to rely on the car to get further afield. Luckily there were some really good options in Kingsand - particularly the Devonport Inn has delicious food and a great atmosphere.

  • Lindsey’s place was lovely and can’t wait to go back in summer

    Lisa2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • SeaHut was indeed sparkling clean. The views from the cabin are incredible and well worth the healthy climb up. Cosy and warm, neat and compact, nicely private, quiet (the seabirds were in good voice but they didn't bother us), convenient location - what more could you want? Lindsey was very responsive and kindly helped us with a last-minute query about recycling, which we really appreciated. We stayed 5 days and are hoping to come back in the Spring to gaze out at the sea in different weather. Highly recommend this property.

  • Wonderful location with a stunning view of the ocean. Could not recommend enough. Lovely host. Perfect for a break from the city.

  • Perfect place for two! Ideally located with incredible sea views. Lovely and clean and had everything we needed. Was also nice and warm (despite cold weather). An attractive 4 berth bunkhouse with en-suite shower room and small food preparation area. We welcome groups of friends and families and well behaved dogs! The coast path is a 5 min walk away and Seaton Beach a 15 min walk with good restaurant, pub and a beach cafe. With sea views and peaceful rural location, this compact accommodation is ideal for a 1 - 3 nights stay. Near to Looe (4 miles). Enjoy a relaxed stop-over with outdoor seating area and space to enjoy the views, eat and BBQ.
The bunkhouse is a quirky and characterful space, with 4 bunk beds, 2 accessed via a ladder. It has a good sized en-suite shower room as well as an attractive food preparation area complete with fridge, kettle, toaster and microwave. Please note there is no cooker, however there are many excellent places to eat out locally - just ask for some recommendations! Bedding and towels are provided, as are crockery and cutlery for 4 people. Outside there is a picnic area, with table and undercover BBQ area. Our garden enjoys beautiful sea views across to Rame Head and is incredibly peaceful and rural. Only minutes from the coast path, the bunkhouse is perfect for walkers, cyclists or anyone wanting to explore this hidden corner of Cornwall. Just half an hour from Plymouth into Cornwall, we are ideally situated for access to many of Cornwalls attractions, including unspoilt beaches such as Whitsand Bay, delightful fishing villages, such as Looe and Polperro as well as being within driving distance of the Eden Project. Please note that we are on a well for our water supply and a septic tank system, so are careful with water consumption. Excessive water use can cause us to run out!! We are seeking to live in an environmentally friendly way, using electricity and water wisely and recycling as much as possible.
Very peaceful and quiet location. Selection of eating places within a 15 minute walk, in nearby Seaton.
  • A great little place for an overnight stay. Clean and in a great location. Would happily stay here again.

    Chris2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Frankie's bunkhouse was such a lucky find. If you are walking the South West Coast Path, you couldn't find a better spot to stop. The bunkhouse is close to the path and is so comfortable, well equipped and, if you're visiting in winter, very warm and cosy particularly after a long day walking. The beds are very comfortable and, there is a fab hot shower. couldn't have asked for any more, thanks Frankie!

    Clive2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Frankie saved us when we had to do an unexpected overnight stay. Frankie was fantastic with very quick responses and the place is great. Really cool little space with loads of character. Quiet and tidy which was absolutely perfect for us. Thank you Frankie.

  • Had a lovely stay at the bunkhouse has lovely views and is a great place to spend 1 or night's felt cosy and would definitely recommend thanks again x

  • Fabulous little bunkhouse with everything you could need, perfect for walking the coast path and lovely hosts.

    Joanna2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Frankie’s bunkhouse is a great stay for shorter visits to cornwall. A cosy and compact accomodation, great fun for little ones, and a great option in this location. We stayed for two nights whilst visiting family in Plymouth. Storm Dennis was in full effect, we had great fun, it’s a shame we didn’t get a chance to trek along the nearby coastal path... next time!

    Bruce2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay in this cozy bunkhouse in January. Frankie was really friendly and a great host and making sure we had everything we needed. The bunks were so comfortable, the shower was lovely and hot and the location is fantastic for coastal walks and beach trips. My 2 boys loved it too especially the bunk beds and being right by the sea!

    Laura2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful couple of days celebrating New Year in the Bunkhouse. The Bunkhouse is wonderful - quite, snug, comfy beds and great facilities. We had a wonderful time relaxing here as a family of four and hiking on the coast path 5 minutes away! We were made to feel really welcome and communication in regards to the booking was really quick and easy - thank you Frankie for a lovely couple of days.

Surrender to the beauty of Whitsand Bay in this luxury self-catering beach house. Fall asleep to the sound of the waves, wake up the the most majestic sunrises and gaze out to infinite sea and sky views as you let this forgotten corner of Cornwall lure you under its spell. St Michaels is a detached house set in a beautiful terraced garden, very private and within walking distance of 3 pubs, 2 restaurants and a shop. The village is peaceful yet only 4 miles from Looe, and perfect for exploring.
As you enter St Michaels you immediately feel calm and relaxed. The kitchen has everything you will need and comes with floor to ceiling doors and a sea view to take your breath away. The sitting room also has lovely big doors which invite guests to throw them open and absorb this calming Cornish oasis. In all the bedrooms we have lovely white New England style beds, made up with Egyptian cotton sumptuous bedding, ensuring a blissful nights sleep. There is a large utility room with washing machine, separate tumble dryer and sink for all the boots, coats and wet towels......... There is an incredible terrace with plenty of space for relaxing, a BBQ, and a fire pit. It's totally private, well protected from the wind by huge Monterey Pines, and is a 2 minute walk to the most stunning beach and the coastal path.. You will spend hours here listening to birdsong, the crashing of waves on the rocks..... watching the horizon.. spotting the occasional pod of dolphins. This is a blissful break away from everyday life. We have made our holiday home luxurious and cosy, it is immaculately clean and homely. We hope that you will look after our home whilst, of course, having a fun, enjoyable time.
Stroll a few minutes down a quiet lane past the end of the garden to the beach. Visit 3 pubs, 2 restaurants and a shop within easy walking distance. This location by Seaton village is peaceful, yet only 4 miles from the many sights of Looe.
  • A beautifully clean and comfortable beach house where my family and I stayed for a wonderful week over Christmas. Great location for the beach in Seaton, stunning sea views, lovely walks and good location for exploring the area. We visited Looe, Liskeard, Edgcumbe Manor, Talland Bay, Polperro, Whitsand Bay...our young boys enjoyed digging on the beach so much. Margaret was on hand to assist with any questions we had. Would highly recommend.

  • This house has the most amazing views over the sea, the stuff dreams are made of. The seating area outside is a really nice place to sit when the sun is out, they’ve even provided a few blankets incase it gets a little chilly in the evenings, which is a nice touch. The bedrooms are all well equipped with seats, dressing table/vanity units, hair dryer etc. All bathrooms have a shower in which is really handy and they were are all very clean when we arrived. They provided hand wash and there was a toilet roll next to each toilet too. Kitchen was spotless, lots of room at the dining table for families to eat together. We were provided with tea bags but unfortunately no coffee, but we went shopping the day after we arrived so didn’t have to wait too long for our fix! There also wasn’t a microwave which would have been quite useful. The lounge had plenty of seating, DVD player (not Blu-Ray), large TV, puzzles and games box and a useful collection of leaflets for local activities. The road up to the property is single file, with a few passing places dotted around. We much preferred to park in the car parking space at the bottom of the property as the lane to the house is pretty much a track with not many places to let other cars past! When you take a walk to the local beach, please bear in mind you have to have some sort of level of fitness to get back up to the property! The property is up a lot of stairs and then there is quite a steep incline towards the beach, which is ok on the way down but on the way back up it’s quite tough going. Saying that, when you get to the beach it’s all worth it! It has black sand and a few pebbles dotted around. The beach was very clean, dogs are allowed on the beach but we didn’t see mess there once so we weren’t that bothered. At low tide you can go onto the exposed rocks and go crabbing, we caught quite a few. The ‘shop’ in Seaton isn’t really a shop at all. I think we only managed to buy an ice cream there one day. The pub is nice, we bought a lunch there one day and we were pleasantly surprised, well behaved dogs are allowed inside. There is a pizza place where you can get take away pizza and a cafe too. The roads in and out of Seaton are quite tight and there are lots of bends. All in all, we had the most amazing holiday, and the host answered all my questions quickly and was there to help with anything we needed. I would definitely recommend staying here!

  • A beautiful house with wonderful views across the bay. The patio terrace and seating area is a fantastic place to spend some time looking out at the sea, chat away or watch the stars come out in the evening. The house was very well equipped and easily large enough for eight people. We were pleasantly surprised to find Sky Sports included and was able to watch the opening Spurs game of the season too :-) I would highly recommend this house, we all had a great time.

  • A wonderful house that will blow you away. Ample space and wonderful views. The outdoor space provides spectacular views of the sea and a place to enjoy the sea. Highly recommended.

  • We had an amazing time at this lovely house. Location is unbeatable - amazing views, very close to Seaton Beach. There is a nice breakfast place next to the beach. House is spacious, clean, the terrace is idea for BBQ. Overall a great experience!

  • Look at your previous best stay and double it! Location and accommodation cannot be faulted. Not cheap but worth every penny.

BRAND NEW 6 PERSON HOT TUB! This beautiful split level bungalow is superbly located just a 10 min walk from the centre of historic Looe and a number of idyllic beaches. This property benefits from outstanding views of West Looe river and its valley. These views are best enjoyed from the hot tub and west facing garden where you can soak up the warmth of the sun from late morning until it sets over the Cornish hills. If you wish to book for more than 7 nights please send a request.
    Entire property and garden.
A friendly residential area, 3 minute walk to the local shop, take aways, and a local pub serving good beer and cider. The centre of town is a short 10 minute walk away, 15 minuets on the way back up the hill, where you can reward yourself with a cup of tea or something stronger and enjoy well earned views. 3 beaches all within a 20 minute walk. If you can’t get everything you need from the well stocked farmer’s market, fish market and various convenience stores in town then the local supermarket is a mere 15 minute drive away. Plymouth is the nearest city, just a 35 minute drive through Cornish countryside.
  • As a winter break the price and amenities were fantastic. The check in was really easy and the guidance and correspondence from the hosts could not be faulted. We really liked being left to it but knowing we could get in touch if needed. The new hot tub is fantastic and the accommodation is spacious and works very well with cosy relaxing areas both inside and out. The kitchen was very versatile with a large fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher and good cooking facilities and equipment for eating in if needed. The location is great with easy parking and very peaceful. The view is amazing especially watching the sun go down in the hot tub...the compromise is the very steep hill to and from the main part of Looe but if you’re not up for the challenge there are plenty of local taxi’s and a local bus to help with the short trip.

    C2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • The bungalow was much more than we could’ve hoped for our winter stay. You would have a great holiday here without even leaving the house! The hot tub was our favourite part, with views overlooking the river. We made use of all the amenities during our stay which all worked well and according to given instructions. For what we paid (winter prices), we were spoiled. It’s an 11/10 from us! Self-catering: bring your oils/sauces/spices etc. from home if you’re making your own meals here as these aren’t provided. Location: if you’re planning to venture out into other parts of Cornwall, be aware that journey times will be a little extended due to navigating around the Looe and Fowey rivers/estuaries.

  • Amazing place, amazing hosts, amazing location AND WHAT A VIEW !! Spending New years eve in Looe is highly recommended for all ages. Especially fancy dress lovers. Thank you for our wonderful stay

    Sam2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • River view was such a great base for us! The overall decor was beautiful and we loved the style! The beds were so comfortable and we all slept like babies. The travel cot was also so handy and saved us packing ours. We would highly recommend the house to anyone!

    Darren2019-10-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great property, everything you need...lovely setting, fab views, quiet location, tastefully decorated...good communication from owners....would highly recommend....

    Alison2019-07-20T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing, clean and spacious home. The views are fantastic and the outdoor spaces are excellent. The home has everything you might need. We were lucky with the weather, so the fans in each room were a Godsend. The place is exactly as you see in the photos, better even. There is a Spar shop about 5 minutes walk away as well as a pub and some takeaways. The views are great but as with most things in life there is a cost to pay. The walk up from the town is very steep. I am 49 and not the fittest and managed it, just! , but if you have mobility issues it is probably a car trip in. But that is Cornwall for you - lots of hilly seaside towns. But, one of the best places I have stayed in and would recommend it to anyone.

Her accommodation is minutes on foot from the beach from where you can go to one of the most beautiful coastal walks I've even done: from Milleandreath beach to the village of Seaton. Strongly recommend it, a real must. Accommodation is very clean, nicely and stylishly furnished. Strongly recommend it.

Previously named Black Rock Beach Resort after the famous landmark that sits proudly out to sea, Millendreath Beach Resort is the new name for the beautiful holiday resort that sits directly on Millendreath beach near Looe. This hidden gem is nestled in a tranquil valley offering the unique combination of beautiful woodland and its own south facing, sandy beach and boasting one of very few locations in the UK to support a species of native, British Seahorse.
At Millendreath Beach Resort we have plenty of Superior 2B style apartments, which consist of one double bedroom and one bunk bedroom, with full single size bunk beds in the second bedroom. The Superior apartments are located close to the beach front with guaranteed views of the sea. These apartments are suited to anyone and especially popular with families with young children as they love the bunk beds! We have low, middle and high level 2B style apartments, so if you have any specific requirements please talk to us before booking and we will try to accommodate your needs as best we can. Please note: Not all of our apartments are identical, here are slight variations within each of the styles. This is not a pet friendly apartment.
With a private south-facing beach, 65 acres of private woodland and the South West Coast Path running through the resort, Millendreath is a wonderful spot to get away from it all – the perfect base for exploring the best that Cornwall has to offer. Looe is a 5-minute drive or 25-minute walk away on the coastal path. Nearby attractions include the Eden Project, Monkey Sanctuary, Polperro and Looe, two great fishing villages and much more. Our Apartment is on the first floor of a two storey building, situated in the lovely Cornish village of Downderry. The village is on the coast with a small fishing fleet and unspoilt stony / rocky beach, fantastic rockpools too. Within a 10 minute walk there is a Vegan cafe, a Restaurant / Deli, a village shop and a traditional English pub with great sea views.
This area of Cornwall is often called the forgotten corner, whilst it is popular there are fewer crowds here than in other parts. There are many gardens and estates to visit in this compact area, including Edgcumbe House, Trematon gardens, Pentillie House (Delicious series - Dawn French) and Antony House (Alice in Wonderland). We are also conveniently situated for walking on the extensive south west coast path. The Village itself is also well situated for visiting Looe, Kingsand, Cawsand , and Polperro. If you want to try something different catch the passenger ferry from Cremyl and spend time in Royal William yard in Plymouth across the river Tamar.
Our village is generally quiet and friendly. The homes are well cared for and there is a pride in our community.
  • We had a brilliant time here and didn't want to leave. The apartment was clean and cosy and had everything we needed. We had a great time exploring the local area and enjoying the sea air.

  • Lovely stay in fact it was that nice we have booked it again in July 2020 for Two weeks. my only grumble is not about the place we stayed but about the Great Blacked Back Gulls who bombed my car in. other than that the place we stayed and the area we visited was fantastic. The View at Whitsand Bay and Crumplehorn Inn in Polperro are fantastic as was the ambiance in the Blue Peter in Polperro.

    Gary2019-12-31T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely apartment close to the centre of Downderry and beach. Pub,restaurant and shop all within walking distance, downhill but uphill on the way back!!!! Apartment is very well kitted out and was sparkling clean.

  • Thank you for giving us the opportunity to stay in your beautiful apartment, situated in the lovely village of Downderry. We arrived on the 28th October to a clean apartment with a lovely gesture of dairy essentials left for us in the fridge, this was very much appreciated. The apartment was fully equipt with everyday items which we could freely use. Thank you once again for letting us stay at your apartment. Hope to stay again soon. Kind Regards Rhys and Gareth

  • The apartment is well located and you can see the sea from the balcony. The sofa is super comfy, and the kitchen very well furnished. The bath and shower are great after a long day of coastal walking. There were lovely touches like the milk and butter left for us which is very kind. We would highly recommend this apartment and Downderry as a base for exploring Cornwall.

  • Colin's place was beautiful and just as described. It was very clean and had everything we needed. The access is up steep steps but the view from the balcony is worth it and the location close to Looe is perfect. Colin was an excellent host and easily contactable and ensured an easy check in. Myself and my 3 friends who stayed with me would definitely stay again.

  • Lovely villa situated a stones throw from the beach. Very clean, and tastefully decorated. Colin is a great host, with excellent communication. The £10 electric provided lasted longer than our two day stay. There are electric heaters within the property, one in the bedroom and lounge. Icing on the cake would be central heating as we found it a little cold. Bear in mind we stayed in December so this would not be a problem earlier in the year. Overall a superb property which we will definitely return to. Thank you.

Only a stone throw from the local, private, sandy beach with water sports equipment hire, beach front cafe, separate bar looking out to Looe Island and beyond and only a 30 minute walk along the South West Coastal Path into Looe itself. Great for families, couples and solo adventurers.

Locally there is a popular licensed beach side cafe which I advise booking if you are thinking of eating there at night and separate, competitively priced bar . Nearby Looe (3 miles) is either a short car or taxi ride away or a 30 minute walk along the South West Coastal Path and offers everything you would expect from a Cornish fishing port - restaurants, bars, shops, boat trips, boat hire etc. In the opposite direction (5 miles West) Seaton is another coastal village with a lovely beach, cafe and restaurants. Further afield you may want visit : Polperro 7 miles, Rame Head 17 miles, Plymouth 19 miles, Bodmin 22 miles, Eden Project 25 miles, Fowey 27 miles, St Austell 27 miles, The Lost Gardens of Heligan 33 miles, Mevagissey 34 miles, Padstow 36 miles, Newquay 40 miles, Truro 44 miles, St Ives 65 miles, Lands End 76 miles.
  • As soon as we stepped through the door we felt at home, he was always contactable up to and during the stay, previously we stayed in the resorts with a well known holiday company but thought we would try air bnb, I have to say the time we was there we felt that if there was a problem, not that there was that we would have been personally looked after rather than call centre etc, we bumped into Graeme and he was so lovely and friendly, would not hesitate to use him again, new year in Looe is a must, they do a kids fireworks at 6 which is amazing, the cleaner even arranged us tickets to a local event for new year which was so thoughtful and that extra special touch. The apartment has a washer dryer which was amazing to have with kids too. Was just perfect

    Nat2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • A great base for kayaking friendly couple in the beach hire place let us leave our kayaks with there hire ones so straight in the water everyday. Looe island is a must to kayak around with plenty of curious seals who came within feet of the kayaks. Very nice Bistro & bar on site and a short walk into looe for more choice. Highly recommended.

  • Right next to the beach, we swam in the sea every morning and sat listening to the owls in the evenings. Graeme was friendly and helpful and the space was simple, well equipped and very clean.

Willow cottage is a newly renovated beautiful fisherman’s cottage, it is situated in a quiet street in the heart of the picturesque fishing town of Looe yet only 2 minutes walk to the beach, harbour and town centre with many cafes, shops, pubs and restaurants. Access to the cottage is on the level so suitable for all. Dogs are welcome to stay but we would ask you to respect this old lady of a cottage, Unfortunately there is no parking with the cottage A beautiful seaside town for all to enjoy
Willow cottage is a lovely old cottage to stay, all we ask is that you treat it as kindly as you would your own home. Willow cottage does not have parking, the harbour car park is situated 4 to 5 minutes walk (3 to 4 100 meters) from the cottage, this car park is generally used for short stay parking as it can work out quite expensive. The Millpool car park and Pearns boatyard car park are situated over the bridge in West Looe and take 5 to 10 minutes to walk to ,these are generally used as longer stay car parks as they are cheaper. Would also add that the cottage is more suited for 2 adults and 2 children rather then 4 adults as it is a small cottage.
Willow cottage is at the heart of everything in the town, just 2 minutes walk to the seafront, shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants, yet it is in a secluded quiet area.
  • A totally good experience on all aspects of the cottage, and hosting. Would totally recommend this beautiful fishermans cottage, in the thick of everythingneeded for your stay in looe

  • I have stayed in willow cottage for almost four months..!!! Debbie is a great host, you will not be let down at all, you will not get a better host. Enjoy your stay !!!!

  • Just returned from this beautiful cottage, it was lovely, cosy, and the location was perfect !! with everything on your doorstep makes for a very relaxing holiday, our dog loved the quick one minute trot it took him to get to the beach !! and we loved peaceful early morning walks, (before the seagulls had woken up !! ) What an amazing place, would definitely recommend and return, thank you Debbie !!

The restaurants in Looe are second to none, with a variety of high quality fish restaurants. Looe also has Indian and Chinese restaurants, a Mexican and Thai Restaurant as well as catering for the more traditional pallet. And of course, Looe serves up a cracking fish and chips.
  • Tricia is a wonderful host. Loved the cats. Breakfast was amazing.

    Ibrahim2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Tricia goes above & beyond to make you feel welcome & comfortable at her house! I got a little lost at the start trying to find the place, but she was amazing & came to find me in the car to bring me to her house! I stayed here alone & it was perfect for me! & the breakfast in the morning was superb! Can not recommend her any more, & if I ever need to I will be staying here again! Totally deserves her super rating!

    Tash2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Really friendly place to stay, just like being a guest of the family like airb&b used to be. Communication was good the Trish was great with helpful suggestions. The stairs are a challenge and I would suggest that less mobile guests read the description carefully. I would be happy to stay again if back in the area.

    Paul2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay with Tricia over new year! She is very welcoming and helpful. The house is very close to the centre of Looe and has lovely views. We really enjoyed our breakfast and making friends with the gorgeous cats! Would definitely recommend staying here!

    Kelly2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • We only went for one night but really enjoyed it, the house has beautiful views and it good location. It's quite hilly getting to and from the house and town so you might need to be quite fit. Tricia was so lovely and made a brilliant host, and the cats were very welcoming too. Great value for money.

    Alice2019-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • Tricia is a lovely, welcoming host & her breakfast is delicious. She gave me tips for the local area & communication before arrival was brill. The room is cosy & warm with a really comfortable bed, exactly as the photos show & like Tricia says in the listing the steps up to the room are narrow so be prepared for a climb. Perfect for a solo traveller on a one night stop over in the area. Thanks Tricia!

    Bethan2019-11-15T00:00:00Z
  • Tricia is incredibly hospitable and the house is in an excellent central location with easy access to restaurants, pubs and shops. We were able to park on the main road over night as we arrived after 6pm though be aware that Looe has hills so it is a steep walk up, though Tricia kindly offered to pick us up. The bed is very comfortable and views from the room are great as mentioned in the listing, the steps up to the room are steep.

    Colin2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Really lovely room with everything you could need. Very clean. Great breakfast in the morning. Very friendly and helpful host. Great view from the home. I highly recomend staying at Tricia's place.

  • Fabulous flatlet, very well stocked, great location and stunning views.

    Diane2019-09-18T00:00:00Z
  • We weren't blessed with the weather, but it was still a lovely break! We slept very well, enjoyed the seaview from bed, made the most of the WiFi and comfy sofa, and once or twice managed to use the huge terrace. It's a shame the cafe isn't open early or late so I'd recommend bringing Tassimo pods if you like a morning coffee! Looe was a fairly easy walk away - 5 months pregnant but didn't find it too taxing (some very steep hills, though!) - so that's also an option if you don't want to drive much. Thanks Tracey!

  • We had the best stay here. We have stayed at the site before in another property but this one was just the best. Really clean, great facilities within the villa. Very cosy, felt like home.

  • Very clean, great views and relaxing location. Phone signal is really poor in the area but I found that to be a huge bonus being able to relax and get off my phone for a week. However WiFi was excellent. Gill was very easy to communicate with and answered questions quickly. Kids loved the bunk bed, mattresses on all beds really comfortable. Had a fantastic week thanks very much.

Close to the resort town of Looe is Millendreath Beach. A south facing beach Millendreath lies at the foot of a wooded valley in a sheltered cove that during low tide has pleasant soft sands and numerous rock pools to explore. It is easy to access neighbouring beaches including Plaidy Beach using the South West Coast Path. Millendreath is home to what was once a popular holiday village. Open from the 1950s through to the 1990s the resort became outdated and fell into decline. Work is now nearing completion on a regeneration project which has seen a thorough modernisation of the complex and rebranding as the Black Rock beach resort. This area is a great place to stay if you enjoy walking, fishing or just lazing on the terrace or the beach. It also provides an ideal base for exploring the rest of Cornwall. Looe is situated on both sides of the River Looe. The two towns are joined together by a bridge across the river. In medieval times East Looe and West Looe were separate towns. East Looe includes the harbour and the main shopping centre. West Looe is quieter but also has shops, restaurants and hotels. Polperro is 7 miles away and is easy to step back in time here, in what is a largely an unspoilt fishing village on the South East coast of Cornwall. Its beautiful cottages cling to steep hillsides around a small harbour with spectacular views of land and sea making it an artist’s paradise. Like its neighbour Looe, Polperro offers plenty of places to eat and relax and has a great selection of accommodation. Dotted around the village are several galleries selling work by local artists. Also not too far is the famous yachting port of Fowey and many other small quaint beaches tucked away all along the coast. Walking or driving north along the coast you come to Seaton Beach, Downderry and Whitsand Bay. All beautiful wild beaches where you can find a sheltered spot all to yourself or enjoy the stunning views from the coastal path.
  • This is a lovely, cosy place with everything you need. Very close to coastal paths, great cafe and short walk to Looe.

    Richard2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time in Millendreath. The location is perfect for families, the beach is lovely and there is a bar restaurant and beach shop on the front. A great location for many of Cornwall's attractions. There is a Morrisons less than 10 minutes away and we had an asda delivery with no problems at all. The apartment had everything you could need and Netflix was an added bonus for us all.

  • It was realy nice in the chalet. Ther werde so mich lovely details. We loved our stay very much. It was a good point to see the coast, Plymouth and some NT Probertys. If we come back again in this area we would love to stay here again! Thank you!!!

  • Gina's place is just right for a summer holiday. The place is well equipped . Gina suggested us a very lovely place for walks in West Looe which we did and did not regret it. The place is well located and is a good base if you want to travel and explore Cornwall. Eden project is about 45 minutes drive. The Coddy Shack is a great if you like fish and chips but we had to wait 30 minutes for our food. There is a little bar and a restaurant in the resort but if you prefer to do your own shopping Looe is only 10 min drive. Surprisingly the resort is quiet during the night!

    Denisza2019-08-03T00:00:00Z
  • This is such a wonderful place to stay. Everything has been thought of from beach things to a wok ! It was beautifully clean , comfortable & has a great outside space, with a lovely view. We so enjoyed sitting out on the terrace for meals & also sunbathing. All very relaxing. Thank you Gina & Nicola for all your help and advice. We ate at the bistro on the beach a couple of evenings. It has a small tapas menu , some main dishes & lovely puddings. Also a great find if you need gluten free meals. They are able to do this & are very careful about gluten contamination.

The street is very quiet and rises steeply beyond the cottage. A few steps away is a local store selling everything from papers to warmed pasties. Towards the quay is the Jolly Roger pub, again friendly and serves good meals and then a small Spar, so well served. Bit of a walk to reserved parking space but more local parking can be paid for. Visited on my own with elderly dog and felt very much at home. Hope to return again.

  • Lovely cozy cottage, warm, quiet, sparkling clean with lovely furniture and decor, great location also, everything we needed for our short break/escape was there. The parking permit was much appreciated.

    Caroline2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is in a great central location and has everything you could ever need while on holiday.

    Zoe2020-01-15T00:00:00Z
  • Cottage was just right, nicely set out and very warm. There was everything there we needed to cook a couple of meals. A lovely bottle of sparkling wine on arrival was a lovely surprise. Also dog bowls In the pantry if you needed them. The cottage is in an excellent location just around the corner from the quay, with a little Spar and a deli a minute’s walk away. Lots of info about local places to visit and eat. Sky TV was great! Check in/out very simple with lockbox. Yvonne even emailed me to say there was no rush to check out as next people weren’t due that day! Just wish we could have stayed longer, she definitely seems to have thought of everything! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend. Thank you !

    Lisa2019-12-02T00:00:00Z
  • We arrived at the cottage on a cold and damp November afternoon, and were so pleased to find the heating had been left on for us, and a welcome bottle of wine on the table. The cottage was spotlessly clean from top to bottom. Sky TV, and a strong WiFi connection, were an added bonus. All in all very cozy and welcoming place to spend time in Looe. There are two small convenience stores, and a warm and friendly pub all within a two minute walk from the cottage. So pleased we decided to stay in Yvonne's cottage, and have no hesitation in recommending it to others.

    Rodney2019-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • Well located, Beautifully decorated, super clean, cosy cottage. We were there in November and it was always a pleasure to come back to. Great heating system too.

    Paola2019-11-22T00:00:00Z
  • If you’re looking for a cute cottage for a break this place is perfect! The cottage is super cute! Perfect for families, couples or friends! Yvonne was so very kind and we had a lovely stay! Perfect location and the cottage is beautiful and cosy, even though it was frosty outside!

    Alice2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Yvonne’s cottage was in such a handy location. We could walk to everything, yet we were in the quieter part of town. Having the deli just down the road was very handy. The cottage was warm, tidy and beautifully appointed. We also really appreciated having a car parking space.

A traditional farmhouse set only 3 miles away from the historic fishing port of Looe. The 2 bedrooms (1 family and 1 small double) have outstanding views of the countryside complete with their own private living room, bathroom and garden. Continental breakfast.
  • We recommend this lovely old farm house to everyone, it’s cosy, homely, the views are just breathtaking. Julie’s breakfast is delicious. So close to Looe for a beach walk, lots of restaurants and lots of shopping.

    Laura2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • I highly recommend Julia's place. She was very warm and kind all throughout my stay and made sure I had everything I needed. I'd definitely go back to her place if I'm ever around that area again.

    Eduardo2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely host, really helpful. Enjoyed our stay greatly. Marvellous view from our room.

    John2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Tregarland Farm is a hidden gem, close to Looe, but nicely secluded. The host, Julia, is charming and welcomed me with a cup of tea. The farmhouse is really old and interesting, and furnished in an 'olde-worlde' suitable style, and the views are tremendous. My room was really quite large, and the bed was comfortable. I had scrambled eggs on toast for breakfast, but there was a good choice of alternatives, including cereals, toast etc. This is an excellent place to stay for those seeking traditional accommodation, and I would be very happy to return.

    Steve2019-09-17T00:00:00Z
  • Julia is an amazing host who is looking after her visitors very well and nothing is to much trouble. Her place is lovely and on arrival, she offers both hot drinks and food. She makes sure that staying with her is like home from home. This was my second stay and I am hoping to stay with her again.

    Rose2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely location...perfectly sited between Looe and Liskeard, with Seaton beach close by too. Stunning views from the room. Julia was very welcoming and friendly and made me feel at home. The room has no heating but equipped with a little plug in radiator which did a good job on the chillier evenings. Bed was comfortable and house and area quiet. Breakfast was a good selection of cereals, fruit, yoghurt and hot drinks. (I'm not a hot-breakfast girl so unsure about cooked offerings). Shower worked fine and wall heater warms the room nicely. A very nice visit!

    Cathryn2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Julia was extremely accommodating. My job is very changeable and Julia made it very easy for me to check in and out when required. She also went beyond what was necessary as a host by lending me riding boots for the day, in case the school I was learning at didn't have any for me to borrow. The property was perfectly located for what I required and the view from the bedroom is stunning. You will get a great night's sleep here and a lovely breakfast.

At Millendreath Beach Resort we have plenty of Standard 2B style apartments, which consist of one double bedroom and one bunk bedroom, with full single size bunk beds in the second bedroom. The Standard apartments have restricted sea views and are located toward the valley and woodland. These apartments are suited to anyone and especially popular with families with young children as they love the bunk beds! We have low, middle and high level 2B style apartments, so if you have any specific requirements please talk to us before booking and we will try to accommodate your needs as best we can. This apartment type is not pet friendly. Please note: Not all of our apartments are identical, there are slight variations within each of the styles.
Little Brightwater is an easy 10-15 minute walk from the harbour along the beautiful seafront. It’s a cosy, self-contained 2-storey guest suite, rather like a little cottage, attached to the side of our house. It has its own front door and sea views from the bedroom & sitting room. We are just 100 yards from the SW Coast Path (and right opposite Looe Island) in Hannafore, which is a very peaceful & sought-after area of Looe. There is ample free parking on our street close to the house.
Little Brightwater provides smart, clean, comfortable accommodation for two. The guest suite’s private entrance door opens into the sunny double bedroom. There are glimpses of the sea through the bay window (which has voile curtains for complete privacy). The well-equipped little kitchen has a sink, fridge (with ice box), kettle, toaster, microwave and a single-ring electric induction hob. The cupboards contain crockery, glasses, cutlery, cooking utensils and pans. There is enough tea, coffee and fresh milk provided to make a few cuppas. The shower/wet room is also on the ground floor, with loo & washbasin and plenty of shelf space. Upstairs is a small, sunny sitting room with two comfortable Ikea armchairs, TV, a small table & chairs, some games & local interest books, and a lovely sea view. A single airbed is available for use in the sitting room if guests prefer separate beds. Little Brightwater has gas central heating with radiators in every room.
Hannafore is a quiet area of Looe and has beaches and rockpools, tennis, bowls, pitch & putt. There are 2 (seasonal opening ) cafes and the nearby Hannafore Point Hotel has a bar, bistro, restaurant, spa, indoor pool & gym. Our area of Hannafore is very peaceful, the main sounds heard are waves and birdsong! Holiday amenities are all available within a short walk.
  • Superb host, fantastic location - takes less than 20 mins to walk to East Looe harbour. So pretty.. the upstairs sitting room is a sun trap. Enjoy :)

With beautiful panoramic sea views overlooking Looe Bay, this first floor self contained apartment is set in a quiet elevated position at the rear of a timber clad detached house, mid way between Seaton and Downderry and just five minutes walk from the beach, local pubs and restaurants.
  • Jo's place was in a great location to explore the Cornish coast. The local village has a choice of a pubs, a restaurant and a village shop, all of which were great. We stayed for four nights and visited many of the local (and not so local) attractions, including the Eden Projects, St Ives, and the Minack Theatre. Jo was a great host and was very helpful.

    Scott2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Quiet, location with lovely views over the sea. Just a short walk from Seaton beach, a favourite for surfers with beachside cafes and a nice local pub. Just a few minutes from Downderry square where we had a lovely lobster lunch, and also a cliff-top pub and local store. We had various trips; to Plymouth by ferry, and did the 5 mile clifftop walk from Looe to Polperry with stunning views. Also a lovely 2.5 mile forest walk to a nice pub. It was comfortable with a nice bed. Only negative comment, no Vodafone coverage from the apartment, but excellent wifi providing access to whatsapp, and to Netflix though our laptop (we took an HDMI lead and the TV was very good). There are several steps up to the apartment so unsuitable for people with mobility problems. The kitchen is quite small but adequate, perfect for us because we wanted to explore the Cornish pubs and restaurants, and were not disappointed. As we had bus passes we managed to make good use of the local bus service although infrequent. Jo was very helpful. Altogether perfect for what we were after.

  • Nice little guest house for a couple with a great view of the ocean. Good base to visit beaches and explore East Cornwall.

    Gary2019-09-25T00:00:00Z
  • Jo’s place was absolutely lovely! Compact little studio with everything you’d need for a Cornish get-away. The sea view from the back gardens and the window seat of the apartment was breath-taking, and many long happy moments were spent staring at the horizon. The apartment is within easy reach of the beach, and walk along the beach from Seaton to Downderry was a nice gentle stroll, happily finished with a drink and good food at the pub in Downderry. Would love to stay again!

  • We had a lovely few days stay at Ridney Sea View. Jo was very welcoming and advised she'd be available if we needed anything. The property had everything you could think of including DVD and video player with a small variety of films to choose from; lots of information about the area and a variety of games to play hidden in a box behind the sofa! Our favourite feature had to be the bay window seat which looked out to the sea! The location was perfect with a short walk to Downderry beach or Seaton Beach. Walking distance to small village shop, local pubs and restaurants where everyone was very friendly and welcoming. Short drive into Looe where there is a beach and harbour with lots of shops to explore. We would definitely consider staying here again.
