Church
“If you come in Marseille you have to get there ! Notre dame de la Garde is a church dedicated to Marie which is on the top of a higher mount in Marseille. From a Christian site, it has become for all Marseille inhabitants, a kind of symbol of the city whatever religion they follow, if ever they follow one. Most important, from its foot you can see a panorama of all the city, it is really wonderful. You can get there by car, bus, touristic train, taxi , but remember that the last hundred meters have to be walked on foot and to make a wish once up there ! ”

“There are many beaches in Marseille, but the best beaches to swim are definitely the ones on Frioul Island, at 45 minutes by the ferry from Vieux Port (the roundtrip ticket costs 11,10 euros). On this beautiful island, you will find many little creeks with a wonderful view over Marseille.”

Seafood Restaurant
“Toinou, Les Fruits de Mer Antoine “Toinou” Carratu opened his first sidewalk seafood stalls in Noailles in 1962. Now his son, Laurent, runs the stalls as well as restaurants in Noailles and Aix-en-Provence. His business specializes in shellfish caught off the Mediterranean coast, including oysters from the Camargue and mussels from Bouzigues in southern France, though fruits de mer from farther shores, like Brittany lobsters, can also be found. Inside, there’s a no-frills tasting counter.”
