Hike Calanques National Park in Marseille
Hiking is certainly the best way to discover, understand and enjoy the Calanques National Park. You will walk with an expert guide that will make you discover this small massif along the French Riviera, between Marseille and Cassis, barely 20 km long and 3 km wide. If you want to sneak out of the city and get back to nature for a while, you couldn’t ask for a better location. Soaring white cliffs, azure-blue coves, limestone cliffs other the sea and small beaches Calanques Park is a little paradise. Our experience will start at the university campus of Luminy, About 45 minutes long, is one of the superlative views of the Mediterranean at Belvédère de Sugiton. At 1,500 feet almost vertically above the shimmering Mediterranean sea, the views from here overlooking the dramatic shoreline and the calanques of Morgiou and Sugiton are some of the best in the Mediterranean. Sugiton, following a well-maintained trail down, is a perfect place for a packed lunch. The sea twinkles turquoise and invites a swim while the sun against the white rocks and beaches begs relaxation. Then we will follow our way to the less visited coves of Morgiou, Triperie and Sormiou. In the last part, we will have to climb back to Luminy campus where you can take a bus, uber, taxi or public bike to go back to city center. This activity is suitable for family (more than 8 years or used to hike. Babies can be carry in a backpack). Other things to note There is no water or snack on our way so you must take a lot with you (A refilable water bottle is suggested as Marseille water has great quality. One fount at the beginning of the path). We can lend you a backpack. I also recommand you to bring a picnic (I can prepare it on demand), cap, swimming suit, good walking shoes, sunglasses, camera
