  • Completely perfect, highly recommend, second stay at the retreat, this time in the lodge. Tranquil location surrounded by woodlands & it's beautiful wildlife. Anna is a fantastic host with the hot tub & the fire up & running for our arrival. Such an idyllic setting, an amazing get away will definitely be back.

  • I went with my mum as a weekend away, fantastic place cannot fault it. All the small touches made it even better than expected, and I have had the 2 best nights sleep I have had in a while. We are 100% coming back.

  • Spotless cabin. Everything you need at hand. Warm & cosy. Hubby loved fishing. I lapped up the relaxing hot tub and log fire. Anna is a fantastic host. Bed was clean & comfy. Sofa was amazing with the log fire on... so relaxing. Visited the Italian Bella vita for dinner. Gorgeous well needed break.

  • Quaint, Cosy Cabin. Perfect for short stays; with some homely bits and bobs scattered about. Great for outdoor walks and seeing the local wildlife. Would recommend!

    Rachel2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • Very high standard lodge finished brilliantly in picturesque views. Hot tub was amazing hidden behind the lodge. Nice walk through the woodland or safe walk to the pubs. The ox in North Baddesley is a nice pub that also do takeaway Italian food as well as a restaurant area and the Chilworth arms have a really nice restaurant and bar that also serve lovely food. Would definitely go again and Anna is really good at communicating and makes the booking so easy

  • Such a perfect relaxing weekend away for the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The little lodge was super cosy and great for a romantic weekend away. Anna had left us with a bottle of wine and milk in the fridge as well as giving us a few logs to start the fires off with. Thoughtful, personal touches like this really made the weekend for us. The lodge is small, but has absolutely everything you need. There are also facilities that allow you to cook food for yourself as well, so we’d recommend turning up already having done the shopping (one hob and limited fridge space - which is to be expected!) . There were also old school games in the lodge which we had a lot of fun playing again (uno etc). Anna had left a folder with instructions for everything as well as local recommendations for walks, food, where to visit etc. Anna was very helpful and always quick with replying. Could not recommend this place enough, we’ll definitely come back here again and have recommended it to all our friends. We absolutely loved the simplicity of it and feel so relaxed. An ideal place, especially if you want a romantic weekend away.

  • What a fabulous place to spend a weekend! We got there on Friday with the Hot tub warm so we were straight in there with a glass of wine! Really well thought out space and super cosy! The hut was clean and comfortable and there was a booklet which was really helpful! We went into Romsey and Winchester and then down to Netley to the coast for a fab walk! Highly recommend Anna’s hut and her communication was second to none! Thanks Jill and Dan :-)

    Jill2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • The Shepherd's Hut is very well thought out and the limited space is used very cleverly. The stove and hot tub are very nice touches, especially when staying in February as we did - both very easy to use. We were not disturbed at all during our stay and very peaceful, which was just what we were looking for. We both loved it.

    Lee2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The Ivy Hut is a lovely little escape! It's easy from London and Anna gave very clear instructions. The hut is small and perfectly formed. It is exceptionally clean and cosy. Bed and sheets were so soft and comfy. Lots of local info available for us and good little fridge for our snacks and lunch! Hot tub is also brilliant. It was even heated up ready for us on our arrival which was so good. Lots of little books and crannies to store things so it doesn't feel tiny. The fireplace also made me feel like I was definitely away from London and in the country! Saw ducks, a heron and 7 frogs around the golf course! I definitely recommend the hut!

    Ashley2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely and warming host! Very clean and cosy stay for me and my girlfriend. Thank you!

  • A lovely little weekend stay, hot tub is a really top of the range fire burning one that was lovely. Bed was so comfy and the bathroom is inside the hut which saved us with the bad weather we had! All in all a great stay.

  • Beautiful tiny house in a very nice and convenient location for visiting New Forest and surrounding areas. Sophie is a very nice, responsive and helpful host. We hope to visit again in the future!

  • Idyllic, cosy retreat in the new forest. A perfect hideaway with log burner and lay-z-spa, and wonderfully comfortable bed. Sophie was responsive and the ideal host. A lovely minibreak.

    Kaffs2020-03-10T00:00:00Z
  • Very adorable little cabin. Can get a little cold but plenty of blankets are available, a little fire (which was lit for us as we arrived) and a heated blanket in the bed, meant this wasn’t an issue. Beautiful scenery and not too far from nearest town.

    Andrew2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful log cabin , lovely and warm with the log fire . The hot tub is a fab location with lovely views over fields and sheltered from the winds . Remember a dressing gown in colder weather to get from cabin to tub . Highly recommend. Thanks Sophie

    Anne2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic little cabin with all that you need to get away from everything, the weather was bad but with the stove glowing away and playing a few card games it was all very magical! Both evenings we were in the hot tub and sat drinking wine and watching the storm 🥰

The Barn is a delightful studio apartment, situated next to our family home in the quaint village of Burley, New Forest. Recently refurbished, the barn features an open plan living, kitchen and sleeping area with its own private entrance and small outside space with eating area and space for a BBQ. It is a truly fantastic base for you to enjoy what the national park has to offer; including walking, bike riding, horse riding, or exploring the beaches of the south coast.
Inside, the barn features a full kitchen which includes an oven, hob, microwave and tea/coffee making facilities. A choice of eating areas either at the breakfast bar or at the dining area table. There is a comfortable sitting area with Smart TV, wireless internet and whole range of DVD’s, books, board games - something for every one to enjoy. Our guests can enjoy a cosy reading corner with high back chair and a overhead lamp. There is also a self-contained shower room which features a sink, toilet and freestanding shower.
The Barn is surrounded by woodland, and just 100 meters from open new forest heathland, with spectacular views reaching towards the Purbecks. This is an amazing spot for a picnic glass of wine or a beer and watch one of the best sunset views in the new forest over the moor. We have picnic blankets and hamper for our guests to enjoy as they wish. We regularly have deer and horses outside the gates grazing which our guests love to see. The village is a 15 min walk through the woods in both directions which loop around to make a really nice distance stroll, with a pub or cafe break in the middle. The village has a couple of country pubs perfect for a nice meal and drink, and a selection of quirky shops. Just 3 miles down the road is the Market Town of Ringwood with a range shops and supermarkets.
  • A perfect little countryside retreat. So many good reviews and it lives up to them all and more. Looks great in the pictures but blows you away when you arrive!

  • Emily is a fantastic host

  • The Barn is a truly delightful and cozy place to stay for anyone who wants to get away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. The perfect place to unwind and relax...

    Sabine2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Barn had a comfortable rustic vibe and was situated nicely into the new forest area. Would consider staying again.

    Martyn2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We have been looking for a nice airbnb within walking distance of both countryside and pubs, without traffic noise and close to a list of interesting things to do, and Emily's place delivers on all of these 100%. Clean, wholesome, cosy, quiet, with everything you might need for a few days in the New Forest. The wifi was great and the bed and sofa comfortable, the kitchen worked really well and the space is bigger than it looks in the photos. Having a smart TV was an added bonus for darker spring evenings. The view pictured is less than a minute's walk through trees opposite, and is absolutely stunning. There are also hiking and cycling trails accessible directly from the property. Situated about a mile down a track, you are right in the woodland, but with very quick access to the village of Burley. Emily and her family were on hand and incredibly friendly and helpful, but the space also felt private and an independent unit. With the heathland, the forest, the coast, some interesting cities and the Isle of Wight all within an easy drive, we wished we have been there for a week rather than a couple of nights and hope to be back as soon as possible.

    Jess2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Cosy, cute and comfortable. A beautiful place for a forest getaway.

    Christopher2020-02-09T00:00:00Z

  • We had a lovely relaxing stay, with everything we needed. We loved the little touches like hot water bottles and torches and would love to come back one day to experience it in the summer.

South facing with stunning views, surrounded by wildlife and the New Forest on the doorstep. Self Check in. Great pub, award winning farm shop and 2 cafes all walkable. * In light of the Covid 19 health emergency, I’d like to reassure my guests that I have a very high standard of cleanliness and I clean and disinfect all surfaces, the bathroom and kitchen including the cupboard handles, window furniture, door handles, light switches, soap dispenser, washing up liquid bottle, tv remote control, the door key, etc. The bedding and towels are washed at 60 degrees and for now I have removed the scatter cushions and blanket on the bed unless I can wash and dry them ready for my next guests. Our local pub is offering a take away service and the local farm shop which is an easy 1/2 mile walk away is open allowing one person in at a time. We are positioned in the middle of the countryside where you don’t have to come into contact with anybody else if you don’t wish to. You have more chance of meeting a wild pony! It’s self check in so you don’t even have to have any contact with me! I have also set our booking calendar to allow for the hut to be empty for 24 hours between guests rather than guests leaving and arriving on the same day. *Length of stay discounts automatically apply to stays of 3 nights or more and increases the more nights that are booked with 15% off weekly bookings (7 nights). * Late booking discounts. *No extra cleaning fee charged. Situated on the north/west side of the New Forest National Park, a very short drive from the historic market towns of Fordingbridge and Ringwood, ‘Maurietty’ offers an idyllic place to relax and unwind. Located away from roads and a short way along a forest track, it is set on the edge of our 3 ½ acre grounds approximately 100 metres from our house (which is out of view). Stunning south facing views across our paddocks and countryside beyond. However you are not isolated here - there is quick and easy access to all main roads for visitors to explore the many villages, towns, cities and beaches that Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire have to offer (if you can tear yourself away from your little retreat!). There is a footpath at the back of our house which goes along the edge of our paddocks which is the best route to take to Hockeys Farm Shop and cafe, and The Royal Oak Pub is a 20 minute walk away (left out of our gates to bottom of track and turn right). There is another café 'The Potting Shed' in Hyde which is approx. a 15/20 minute walk across the common (left out of our gates, up track a short way and take first right at 'Gorley Firs' which will take you up onto the common). This shepherd's hut offers character and comfort in spades. The little bijou beauty is like a tardis offering a warm and cosy retreat. Inside the fully insulated bespoke hut you'll find all the comforts you would expect from luxury self-catering accommodation. A bathroom with 800x800 shower, wc, wash basin and electric ladder radiator. A kitchenette with belfast sink, microwave, cafetiere, kettle, toaster, electric cooking/frying pan, small chiller fridge, all cutlery and crockery and electric radiator. The 4'6" double bed is built in across one end of the hut with storage underneath, a window and tv with built in freesat and dvd player for those british rainy days when you might want to tuck up and get cosy and watch a film. South facing double french doors flood the hut with sunshine on brighter days and provide a beautiful view out across open fields. Outside there is a designated parking space right next to the hut and an outdoor seating area looking out at the view. Access to the property is via an electric gated entrance for which you will be provided with a code. The site once formed part of Ibsley RAF base during World War II. The block of stables that you look out onto is the old latrine block and a couple of Stanton air raid shelters are in the paddock. Literally to the rear of the hut is the open New Forest. Horse riders frequently go by as well as wildlife such as the New Forest ponies, cattle, donkeys, deer, foxes, badgers and an abundance of birds such as buzzards which are often seen circling above the trees during the summer months. Award- winning farm shop and cafe that also offers bike hire 0.5 mile (follow the footpath that starts at the back corner of our property), horse riding 1 mile, watersports and fishing lakes 2 miles, thatched pub with restaurant 1 mile (15/20 minute walk). Ringwood (with a Waitrose, Lidl and Sainsbury's) 5 miles and Fordingbridge (with a Co-op and Tesco Express) 2.5 miles. ****If the dates you would like to book won't fit into the booking calendar then please send me a booking request and I will try to accommodate you. ****Unfortunately we don’t allow dogs in the hut. ****Please have a look through the ‘house rules’ and it’s important you follow my directions to find us easily. ****Please note that WiFi can be unreliable due to our countryside location despite the area recently having fibre optic broadband installed! It’s something we’ve learnt to live with. We can always pick up 3G or 4G.
The New Forest is a former royal hunting ground in the south of England. It was created in 1079 by William I. Nearly 1000 years later the ancient landscape remains almost unchanged and in March 2005 was designated the 8th National Park in England.

  • We had a lovely stay at Anna’s place. The log burner and hot tub were not too tricky to light and once the fire was going the hut warmed up quickly. It was a shame we had bad weather so we only used the hot tub once but loved it! We also saw frogs and deer around the golf course which was nice :)

    Emma2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a really fabulous stay at the Shepherd’s hut! Although the weather was truly terrible we were so snug inside with the wood burner and still managed to explore the grounds and nearby new forest (wellies highly recommended). The hot tub under the stars was an absolute luxury and made the stay even more special. We saw loads of deer and lots of different wildlife and it was a really lovely break from the city. Anna has made sure to provide everything that you could possibly need and was always super quick to respond and on hand for any queries. Would definitely recommend!

  • This cottage is so so pretty and perfect . The hot tub under the stars was a real highlight of our stay . The cottage was sparking clean and had so many lovely little touches . The log burner was amazing . We had a perfect romantic weekend away from the real world x

  • Lovely cottage with fantastic local walks and pubs. Ideal location and very quiet and rural. Great for a couples get away

  • Fabulous place recommend to anyone for a relaxing break away

    Belinda2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had a 2 night stay at the Bothy to celebrate my husband's birthday. The place was perfect for our short break. The weather wasn't great (wet and windy) but the cottage was cosy, warm and welcoming. We already had a wood turning experience booked locally so had planned for the winter weather, but in the better weather you'd be spoilt for things to do locally. We ate out at The Red Lion, within walking distance one night. Fab food and would also highly recommend. Loved the welcoming touches of bread, milk, orange juice, croissants and the infamous chocolate muffins.

    Alison2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • This retreat was just what we needed a perfect little get away with multiple touches from Chrissy. Would love to come back and stay again. Thank you for making it so special. Couldn’t recommend enough.

    Danni2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • This little place is a gem. You can walk from the door all over the new forest and it is close to some very nice pubs and a village with all the amenities. The place itself was sparkling clean and there were some lovely touches, thank you for the bath salts and muffins! The hot tub is also excellent and very private. We will definitely book again and recommend to others.

    Kelly2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Exactly what we wanted. The place was lovely, snug with the fire on and the jacuzzi was great. Perfect for walks that seem to lead to pubs!

Cornerstones is a 3 storey house in Lyndhurst, the 'capital' of the New Forest with fabulous forest view. Is a 7 minute walk from village centre with cafes, restaurants, shops, pubs and museum. Room has small en-suite bathroom with shower. There is a sloping ceiling over toilet area so may not be suitable for tall people. Free parking near the house. Road opposite busy at peak times but windows fully double glazed shutting out potential traffic noise. Fan provided during summer months.
Cornerstones is on the edge of Lyndhurst village centre. The best pub in the village, a 17th century Inn is almost within view (as is the police station!). You can also walk straight into the forest from our house so everything is on your doorstep!
Lyndhurst is at the heart of the New Forest, now designated a National Park, and the perfect base for a holiday in the South. The village itself is very lively, with all amenities you need, including post office, banks and 2 small supermarkets, as well as a variety of pubs and restaurants. Situated in the centre of the New Forest we are also only a 25 minute drive to the beach. The historic towns of Winchester and Salisbury are 20 miles away and it's only a 20 minute drive to Southampton or 30 minutes to Bournemouth.
  • Self contained, relaxing and friendly. Close to shops, pubs and restaurants. Nadear went out of her way to make me feel welcome

    Simon2020-03-07T00:00:00Z
  • This was an amazing air B and B, it had a fridge and they provided some basic breakfast. The en-suite was quirky and worked well. The heating was on often so the room was warm.

    Richard2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • My stay at Nadear's place was great. The room is exactly as it looks in the picture; large, spacious and clean. There were some thoughtful touches such as a small fridge to make a small breakfast in the morning. Plenty of places to eat in the nearby area also. The view from the bedroom is also lovely. Fantastic value for money!

    Jan2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful room with the most gorgeous view. I only stayed the one night and it seemed almost a shame because it was such a lovely space - and such a kind pair of hosts. Clean, cosy, peaceful and in a stunning little part of the world. Incredibly good value for money - if I’m ever in the area in future I would be delighted to stay again!

    Charlotte2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely room surrounded by nature with good hiking possibilities. The place near the big window is perfect to have the little breakfast that is provided. Would recommend!

    Lara2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place to stay. Location is perfect for a getaway. Room is lovely and clean. Just take a body size towel for the shower only thing they didn’t have. But everything else is amazing. Exactly as it looks in the pictures. Would definitely recommend 😊

This bijou maisonette is a delightful space conveniently located behind Lyndhurst High Street. Compact but offering everything that is needed for a short stay. There is even a small courtyard garden for relaxing in or where bikes can be locked away. The location is perfect for exploring all that Lyndhurst offers and as a base for enjoying the entire new Forest area. Being within the heart of the village gives endless opportunities for trying out the many restaurants and cafes.
This maisonette has been recently converted from the rear storage rooms of a shop that in a previous life was the bakery for the village. The maisonette is on 2 floors; the ground floor has superb open plan living space with a stunning kitchen and excellent appliances allowing guests to easily self cater during their stay. A small breakfast bar provides a great space for eating or placing a laptop to work. There is a very comfortable sofa (sofa bed) and a flat screen TV. Also on this floor is a shower room, incorporating the toilet and handbasin. Upstairs is the open plan bedroom with a fitted wardrobe. There are great views looking north of Lyndhurst.
Lyndhurst is known as the capital of the New Forest. It is a great place to be based when exploring the New Forest. Being based in Thr centre of Lyndhurst means there is plenty of choice of restaurants and pubs.
  • Nick and Jacqui were lovely hosts - the check in process was very well explained and they responded quickly to any requests we had. The parking clock is useful for local parking and travelling to other areas of the New Forest. Restaurants nearby were great, especially Surfing Moo Moo.

    Simon2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely space for a couple. Great location. Car park disc is great and is only a 2 minute walk. Lovely and clean and has everything you need for a short or longer stay.

  • I booked based on a friends recommendation and the flat didn’t disappoint! It has all the amenities and luxuries (TV, strong shower, pots / pans, cutlery, crockery etc) and was the perfect size for the two of us. By way of location, Lyndhurst is a great village to stay in. There’s lots to do (and lots of places to eat in!) and even as non-drivers, we didn’t feel like we were missing out on what the New Forest had to offer as it was obviously on our doorstep. I honestly couldn’t recommend this place enough. The hosts were great communicators and thought of the small things (eg tea and milk!). We will definitely be back!

  • We had a lovely, peaceful two night stay at Liz’s place, which is very comfortable, cosy, and well equipped. Borrowing wellies, we enjoyed a nice walk straight from the front door and another a short drive away. Unfortunately we didn’t get to meet Liz, but her friend was great and quick to respond to queries and helped us get settled in, including sourcing some delicious duck eggs and bread. Thanks for a very nice stay!

    Alan2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Book it! Immediately! Our whole experience at this Airbnb was just fantastic. We came down for a wholesome, calm weekend away from London, and have returned feeling incredibly refreshed. Liz was the most gracious host, leaving us a whole load of thoughtful touches, including fresh orange juice, local bread and eggs, milk, cereal, and so much more. Wellies, umbrellas, bikes, helmets, torches, and so on. They’d even put fresh water and glasses next to our bed. The cottage itself was cute, cosy and warm. Very stylish and clean, all appliances were spot on. Within walking distance of Lyndhurst and various trails, and the local pub is super cute - makes great pies too. We’ve already said we’d happily return to stay again. Thank you!

    Lauren2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • WOW! Liz's place was a wonderful getaway. Liz was very welcoming and helpful with directions, making us feel right at home from minute one. There were so many thoughtful touches and the well stocked pantry was a welcome surprise. It was heavenly to wake up to the sound of birds, and we were even greeted by a few horses outside the house upon arrival! Would recommend this cottage to anyone looking to discover the new forest.

    Tea2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • We would highly recommend a stay at Liz's place. Liz is a very welcoming and thoughtful host. Placed in a great location in the New Forest. Walking distance to a lovely Pub and some really great walking and cycling routes, with all the informatiin provided by Liz. Wellies and bike's provided too. We will be returning

    Jonthan2020-02-28T00:00:00Z
  • Liz’s place is beautifully decorated, sparkling clean and full of thoughtful touches. We felt very welcome at the cottage, Liz has been so lovely and helpful and gave us lots of great tips about things to do. We couldn’t have wished for a better weekend break! Thank you so much Liz!

    Valeria2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cottage, in a charming location. Liz is a wonderful host. Made sure we had everything we needed but respected our privacy. The cottage is fantastically resourced with lots of little extras that mean you don’t have to leave the comfort of the cottage and forest, unless of course you want to. My husband and I had a very relaxing romantic stay. Thank you xx

    Micheala2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect location for exploring the New Forest. This was our second visit to the barn and it was as perfect this time as our first visit. You have everything you need to make your stay comfortable, even wellies!

    Alison2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • BOOK THIS! You will not regret it. Liz went above and beyond expectations as a host. She is extremely knowledgable about the local area and is more than happy to help with restaurant recommendations or walking routes. We were dining at The Pig nearby and had a taxi booked - Liz immediately told us to cancel the taxi and drove us herself. I have honestly never had a more accommodating host. You will want for nothing in the barn, which is cosy, secluded and tranquil. We will be back without a doubt.

The Lavender Room is an oak framed studio in our garden with magnificent views straight out to ancient woodland forming part of the New Forest. Sleep here in total comfort yet feel as though you are sleeping under the canopy of the trees. The space is designed primarily for younger couples however families with 2 children 12 and under are also very welcome. We are also suitable for those away on business wanting a quieter and more homely space to stay. We cannot accommodate 4 adults.
Having magnificent views out into the Forest is what makes this space so unique. It is a haven for those guests that want to enjoy nature and who love walking and or cycling. We have direct forest access and so wake up and step straight into the Forest for a day of exercise and adventure. This part of the New Forest is completely unmanaged and so the trees grow and fall and each seems to have its own character. A complete playground for anyone with plenty of imagination. At night you will hear the owls and during the day you may see many different animals including the famous New Forest ponies, a variety of deer (including a white stag!), cows , pigs (during the pannage season) as well as many varieties of birds insects and small reptiles. You will definitely have the back to nature feel yet have none of the downsides that being under canvas can bring. Open the door in the morning to find your breakfast ready for you in a basket to enjoy at your leisure. Our space is great for couples wanting self contained accommodation but wanting to enjoy local restaurants and cafes rather than self catering. In addition our space is also fabulous for families with 2 young children when there is limited choice of what is truly suitable for families. The loft sleeping space is perfect for under 12's, they will be very excited to be climbing up the ladder and crawling into their own space. We have a slot in child stair gate so that the entrance to this area is closed off safely. Parents can then remove the ladder! Please note we cannot host 4 adults. Please also note there are no cooking facilities. with no gas in the property then we have no need for a carbon monoxide detector.
Emery Down is a most beautiful village set right in the middle of the New Forest. The village has many very pretty cottages as well as a Church and Almshouses. There is also a public house that serves food all day. There are many local walks through the Forest and for families with young children the Forest provides endless opportunities for making dens and playing many different type of games. The local village of Lyndhurst is only 1 mile away (15 -20 minutes walk) has many shops and also several restaurants and pubs as well as a museum and the tourist information office. Also from Lyndhurst it is possible to take the new Forest site seeing bus. There is also an excellent cycle shop in Lyndhurst that rents bicycles.
  • The Lavender Room is a delightfully cosy place to stay in the New Forest. Jacqui is a wonderful host, kept us informed the whole time right from making our booking & gave us great info on the surrounding area. The accommodation had everything we needed, it was clean, warm & the breakfast in the morning was lovely. We would definitely recommend the Lavender Room to anyone who wants a cosy, quiet break away from it all.

  • Obysidian Lodge is perfectly situated in the heart of Brockenhurst. Beautiful scenery, wonderful cycle and walking routes as well as local amenities such as shops, pubs and restaurants are all very accessible from the lodge within a short walking distance. The lodge itself is warm, cosy and beautifully equipped with everything you would need for a stay - the kitchen is well equipped and we chose to eat in on one of the wet evenings and enjoy the hot tub and the cosy living space. The hot tub is very luxurious and felt glorious after our long, windy walks! Plaxy and Jason are very attentive hosts and left a lovely breakfast hamper and card for us on arrival. Despite the February British weather, we enjoyed exploring the forest walk into Lyndhurst and walks on the Heath. The scenery in the New Forest is breathtaking and we loved seeing hundreds (literally!) of beautiful horses roaming the natural landscape as well as the villages! Thank you for a wonderful stay - we will be back!

Beautifully decorated, fresh produce in the fridge and stunning location. It’s a facility made with love and care. We will be back.

Good location for visiting Peppa World, new forest, beaches and Southampton. Highly recommend staying here. Alex and Fi went above and beyond helping us have a great holiday. We loved the visits from the chickens and the fresh eggs. Thank you for letting us stay on your beautiful farm!

Our newly refurbished annexe in Brockenhurst is attached to our home, but offers a private entrance and completely private accommodation for two people, a back door out to your own garden where you can relax with a drink. We are strictly NO SMOKING inside or outside. We welcome dogs but ask that they DO NOT go on the bed or the furniture and we charge £5 per night per dog (payable while you are here) There are many cycle routes and dogwalks from the door & bikes can be rented in the village
We offer secure off road parking as we have a large gated drive There will be bread, butter, jams, milk and cereals for breakfast with tea & instant coffee
Brockenhurst is a lovely village with a ford at one end of the Main Street, it has a few individual shops, a Tesco Express and a small Sainsburys, Chinese and Indian takeaways, as well as some lovely tearooms, restaurants and pubs.
  • We had a really wonderful break at Val’s annexe; everything in the property is thoughtful and well considered, making it an extremely easy and pleasant stay. The lovely touches (such as tea, milk, bread!) were far more than we would have expected, and the added touch of letting us meet their dogs was the cherry on top! Overall we had a fab stand and will definitely be back for another visit!

    Cathy2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • This stay was a present for Christmas. We were so pleased with the location and the annexe. Val was very friendly but also not intrusive, the annexe was very clean and had good facilities for a short stay. We particularly loved having the private garden. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend

    Scott2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Val is a brilliant host and will do her upmost to make you feel welcome and comfortable. The place is clean and tidy and there’s plenty of space for two people. It’s set in an idyllic location to explore the New Forest.

    Leon2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • The place is lovely, & situated in a beautiful location, very clean & comfortable!

    Jack2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Really great location in the middle of the Forest and 15/20 mins walk from Brockenhurst. Annex was clean and modern and we really appreciated the breakfast touches. A great place to stay.

    John2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic value for money, had everything we needed, perfect for a weekend away and definitely would book again when back in The New Forest

    Amanda2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • My boyfriend and I spent a weekend here during January. Everything in the place was really clean and it's in a quiet location. We especially loved how comfortable the bed was. Although it is an annexe, it is very private and separated from the house - we didn't see Val all weekend (not a criticism at all, just a testament to the privacy of the place and the fact that our stay went so smoothly!) Val was very responsive via message before, during and after our stay and I would definitely recommend this as a place to stay. Thanks Val!

    Lauren2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • Staying at Val's place was great! We mostly picked it as it was dog friendly and boy was it - the garden is completely secure and when asked Val lent us a dog bed and water bowl, which was super appreciated! The house was sparkling clean and the comfiest bed, plus Val and her family were super friendly and welcoming, all in all a very pleasant long weekend!

Set in the heart of the New Forest in the idyllic location of Swan Green, our quaint cottage is within walking distance of the picturesque town of Lyndhurst. With direct access to many forest walks, spend your days walking, cycling or just relaxing and watching the horses graze in front of the cottage. Its directly across from a great local pub, The Swan Inn, where you will get a warm welcome from Sybil and her team. Great for couples, families (with kids), and furry friends (pets).
Our grade II listed 'chocolate box' thatched cottage was built in the 1600s and has been newly renovated to a high standard. With over 400 years of history, you can expect lots of character and original features throughout...low ceilings, flagstone floors and some higgledy piggledy walls and floors...all adds to its charm!
The cottage is situated on the outskirts of Emery Down village where there is an historic Church and renowned pub, The New Forest Inn. The village sits within miles of open forest with the neighbouring village of Lyndhurst, regarded as the capital of the New Forest. The village of Brockenhurst (about 4 miles) has a mainline rail connection to London/Waterloo (journey time approximately 90 minutes). The coastline and Georgian market town of Lymington famed for its river, marinas and yacht clubs lies some 10 miles to the south of the property.
  • This is a charming cosy cottage on the edge of Emery Down and a short walk from the very popular (and quite busy) Lyndhurst. The cottage comfortably accomodated our group of 5 adults and a baby. It is very well equiped and Jude is a responsive host. The area is quite beautiful.

    Simon2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cottage. Helpful and friendly host. Very clean. Highly recommended.

    Teresa2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is absolutely beautiful and the location is just great as it’s walking distance from Lyndhurst which is such a cute town. The pub opposite is also fab! Everything was thought of and the welcome wine was a wonderful touch!!! Communication was brilliant and it was very clean. Would love to go back in nicer weather and explore further!

    Steph2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cottage; stylish; v clean; brilliantly responsive host.

  • A perfect escape, with gorgeous surroundings!

    Hayley2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Jude was extremely quick to assist in what was a very last minute request to book her charming cottage. My wife and I stayed with two very young daughters and they loved it The location was great for access both to the New Forest and to Avon beach. The cottage provided an extremely restful retreat and whilst you must prepare yourself for some narrow old cottage stairs you will not be disappointed.

    Ian2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • What can I say about this beautiful thatched roof cottage. It truly is spectacular. Jude's cottage is the perfect place if you want to relax with style in New Forest. The interior is very warm and inviting. The location of this cottage is perfect. you are directly across the street from the Swan Inn (local pub) and one a 10 minute walk away from Lyndhurst. There are many local walks in the area, which is great if you have a dog or just want to wander into the New Forest. Lastly, Jude is an exceptional host. She replied to our emails and text message VERY quickly and was incredibly helpful throughout our stay. We will DEFINITELY be coming back to this perfect place! p.s. Make sure you go to dinner at The New Forest Thai. My god the food is delicious!!!

    Brian2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • We have a lovely time at Swan Cottage. The house is cosy, comfortable and the perfect place to escape to! We enjoyed the two pubs within walking distance, and being able to walk into Lyndhurst was fantastic. We didn't need to use the car for our whole stay. The cottage was spotless, with great, stylish facilities. The kitchen is better than ours at home! We will be back.

The loft in the forest is in an enchanting rural position. The open forest is just a short walk away, and a choice of local tearooms and pubs on the door step including The White Buck Inn within walking distance. Located close to the centre of the pretty village of Burley. The New Forest is also famous for its ponies, Walkers and cyclists will also love the many trails that take you from Burley to several other great places in the New Forest. We also have Loch Awe Boathouses in Oban Scotland.
Clean and comfortable Bikes available for exploring
We are a short walk from the centre of Burley, in the heart of the New Forest National Park. We are ideally situated for exploring the National Park, with it's beautiful landscapes & freely roaming ponies, deer & cattle there’s much to see and do within walking distance of the cottage. Burley has an interesting past, with stories of smugglers, highwaymen and even witches, which can be seen at the 17th century Queen’s Head Pub and the Coven of Witches shop. The New Forest is also famous for its ponies, and in Burley you can enjoy a gentle wagon ride, taking you past the sights of the village as well as the surrounding countryside. The Loft In the forest is for two people but we can accomodate a baby as we provide a travel cot. Our Pool is there for guests to use at their own risk although it is NOT HEATED and shared with our own family during the weekends and summer months, please note there are a flight of stairs to the entrance of the Holiday Let which are not suitable for small children.

  • We had a fantastic stay at The Loft for my fiancé’s birthday - thank you for having us! It’s so beautiful, peaceful, comfortable and clean... the best rural retreat. The pony’s, cows, horses and donkeys right out the house is so beautiful and we felt a million miles away from our London life. Check in and out was super easy, and Shelly and Simons nice touches of tasty biscuits, chocolate and milk was much appreciated! The freestanding bath is amazing and adds to the cosy rural retreat - much needed after taking the bikes out for a few hours. Oh and that bed.... Such a good nights sleep!Thank you again for a great stay! Laura and Rob

  • This is probably the best holiday cottage I have ever stayed in. If you are thinking of going to the New Forest, just book it, you won't regret it. There's a beautiful master bedroom with en-suite, a good size double room, and a charming twin bedroom with a teddy bear on each to keep the young ones company. We arrived at the cottage to find bread, milk, juice, wine and even a birthday cake for me. Maria was there to make sure we settled in and answer any questions we had. The cottage itself is beautiful. The decor is very stylish, yet cosy, and has everything you need for a great holiday. There's useful local and tourist information. A very informative pack which explains how to use all the appliances. The washing machine and tumble dryer are very useful if you have rainy weather like we did. The log fire was very much appreciated on a damp, drizzley day. Maria provides complimentary tea, coffee for the Krupps machine, sugar, dishwasher tablets, washing machine pods. There are cleaning products, washing up liquid, shampoo, conditioner, hand wash, shower gel. In the kitchen there is salt and pepper and oil. There's fire lighters, matches, kindling and logs for the fire. All those things that you usually take on holiday, are all provided. One last bag to squash in the car, one less thing to remember. All in all, a fabulous cottage.

    Julia2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Acorn Cottage was is a little gem! Maria has thought of everything you need to make you feel at home. We arrived a table of thoughtful welcome gifts - homemade cake, a bottle of wine, chocolates, and even 2 wrapped presents for our 3 year old boys. I can really say Acorn Cottage has been the best appointed holiday rental we have stayed in. The play room occupied our children for hours, there are plenty of dog walks straight from the front door, board games to play in front of the fire, a pub with fabulous food at the end of the road and so much more. We will definitely be back!

    Arden2020-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • Gorgeous cottage. Book it, you won’t forget it.

    Anna2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Outstanding. Everything about Acorn Cottage and Maria’s hospitality was outstanding. The house is super-stylish, there was fresh bread and jam and a homemade cake and wine and cordial waiting for us, Maria was super-responsive to all our requests and could not have been more helpful, accommodating, generous and friendly. The house has pretty much everything you could need ... if you’re going to cook meals at home while you’re staying there maybe take the spices you will need as there is not a stash of dry goods in the house, although there is a lovely selection of teas, coffee, salt, pepper, olive oil and ice in the freezer. It was probably the best, most comfortable, most well-appointed and beautiful Airbnb I’ve ever stayed in and Maria could not be nicer. Highly recommended, I hope to stay again!

    Kerryn2019-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • Exceptional - everything from the warm greeting through to the beautiful cottage, the wonderful location and the quality furnishings. We would highly recommend everything about this host and cottage.

    Jackie2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Great host, house, and holiday. Thank you

    David2019-10-15T00:00:00Z
  • Where to begin! Me and my family had the most idyllic stay at Maria's cottage. From the moment we booked Maria was thoughtful, a great communicator and so welcoming. The cottage exceeded all expectations, from the interior, to the location and the thoughtful touches throughout -- homemade cake! If you are looking for a tranquil New Forest holiday, you've found it; horses every morning at the gates, a pond filled with ducks, moorhens and coots, the most wonderful birdlife at the front of the cottage. It was a slice country heaven! The cottage itself was immaculate, cosy and stylish - we wanted for nothing. We took walks right from the front door, ate at the Oak Inn (a short walk down the road) and only wish we could have stayed longer. I can't recommend enough, thank you Maria!

Cleverly designed accommodation , beautifully decorated, intuitively equipped and meticulously maintained. The Cottage is a fantastic base for exploring the New Forest and south coast. We are closely located to Brockenhurst and Lymington and the IOW ferry.
The Cottage is set adjacent to our family home. It has secure parking and is completely separate from the house with its own door. On arrival you can gain access to The Cottage using the key safe. The Cottage has a fully equipped kitchen including oven, hob, microwave, kettle, toaster and all cooking utensils. We provide tea, coffee, milk, sugar and biscuits for your arrival. Children's crockery, cutlery and high chairs are available on request. The house has two bedrooms, the larger of which has two double beds and the smaller with one double bed. There is plenty of space in either bedroom for travel cots which can be provided on request. We provide fresh linen and towels. We have provided a selection of books, toys and games. The Cottage is centrally heated and we will ensure the heating is on long before you arrive to make for a cosy arrival in cooler months. We ask that the log burner is not used.
The Cottage is well located, just a couple of minutes drive from Brockenhurst and seven minutes drive from Lymington, which is renowned for its sailing, marina and wide range of shops and restaurants. There is walking straight out onto the New Forest from the door and good cycling locally. We will provide recommendations of local pubs, restaurants, cafes and day trips in the welcome documentation on arrival.
  • The only let down of our trip to New Forest was that we only booked one night at this beautiful cottage! It is such a lovely place to stay, sparkling clean, spacious, we lacked for nothing at all amenities or instructions wise. We appreciated all of the homely touches, and the welcome gift was so kind! Sophie was a wonderful host, and we highly recommend the Cottage!

The Hayloft is a recently converted stylish barn set within the New Forest National Park yet conveniently located within walking distance of the historic coastal town of Lymington. Finished with comfort and enjoyment at its heart it provides the setting for a luxury getaway.
The Hayloft is set on the A337 into Lymington. The getaway provides sleeping accommodation for up to 4 people with a large open plan kitchen/diner and lounge. A movie/game room supplies the perfect ingredients for a cosy night in fit with board games, games consoles and a variety of movies. The converted barn comes complete with a Jacuzzi hot tub and BBQ. The hot tub is drained and re filled after every check out, therefore we cannot guarantee that it will be up to temperature on your first night. Please also note that the use of the hot-tub cannot always be guaranteed in busy periods due to routine maintenance. We recommend to bring easy slip on shoes to get to and from the hot tub!
  • If you are a clean freak like me this is the place for you. Sometimes on AirBnB superhosts have sparkling clean reviews but Annabelle truly deserves this title. Beautifully presented accommodation as Annabelle clearly has very good taste. Communication was prompt and friendly. Lots of nice touches such as sweets in the playroom.

  • Perfect for weekends away, very clean, spacious enough for 2 couples, great host.

    Alissia2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • The first thing anyone needs to know is that the pictures are 100% accurate and as described, the house is really spacious and super clean. The hot tub was ready and heated on our arrival. We looked everywhere for somewhere with a private hot tub, and lots claim to be private but then you realise they are really overlooked. This one is completely different, the hot tub is fully private and has nice touches with places to hang towels (hot tub towels are provided too) From walking in, the house is full of lovely homely touches from blankets to keep you warm, to sweets in the snug. It really felt like a place you could relax. The kitchen had all we needed to cook an evening meal and brunch, which is rare for an AirBnB. Netflix was available on both TVs as well as board games, Xbox , and full TV channels. Plenty to keep you entertained if the weather is bad. Location wise we found it convenient to get to both the New Forest and the coast, we had lunch at the Haven, which was recommended in the welcome pack, lovely food but you definitely need to book in advance as it gets very busy. All in all a lovely stay, we didn’t want to leave. We are definitely going to book again later in the year. Thank you!

  • We had a fantastic stay here. Perfect for 2 couples with the 2 double bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Loved the games room.

    Maggie2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Great property, stylishly furnished and plenty of space. Hot tub a bonus!

    Ben2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We had three nights here with our two boys (aged 2 and 5). We had a lovely stay! The place is very nicely decorated and more than big enough. The boys loved the games room and it was easy access to both the New Forest and the IOW. The hot tub was a lovely treat at the end of the day too. It's right by a busy road but this didn't affect our enjoyment and we would definitely return again!

    Clare2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • A very stylish space and great that rooms are separated by two different stair cases - ideal for 4 friends / 2 couples or a family. Although important to note it is very close to a main road. We didn’t realise before we stayed but it didn’t change much just meant you had to drive to get into town/ nearby walks. Overall a great stay and would recommend. The hot tub is a good touch too and excellent use of the space.

Local store is 1 mile away and provides everyday necessities.
  • The flat is just like the photo. When the beds up there is still a decent amount of room. I took a curry with me, microwaved it, found all the plates, cutlery, corkscrew, glasses etc then sat down at the table and enjoyed an evening meal. Everything is of good quality, the setting is lovely and quiet. Clive is a very congenial host. Great place

The hosts Clive and Lindsay are very friendly and couldn't be more helpful or hospitable. I highly recommend it!

A very simple terrace cottage dating back to before the 1820's and upstairs you can still see the original beams. Both the lounge and bedroom are cosy and compact, just the thing for a base camp whilst exploring the New Forest area.
  • Great little cottage, would defianlty stay here again, very accommodating host.

  • This is the second time we have stayed here and the cottage is just like home from home . Me and my daughter fine here regularly to see my autistic son who is in a residential school nearby . The cottage has everything we need even a garden that is well fenced in for our little dogs . Fantastic place in every way

    Victoria2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is fabulous! We had a great time exploring the forest with our pooch. The cottage is well located, has all the amenities one would need - and lots of great pubs near by. Check in and out was super easy, and we thoroughly enjoyed our weekend.

The Cottage is in the centre of the village within the heart of the New Forest, next to shops, restaurants and pubs. It has a cosy open plan layout with parking for a small car outside. It is suitable for couples, families, singles and friends. Situated an 8 minute walk from the railway station, there are great walks, cycling (with hire available in the village) and horse riding near by.
  • What a lovely place and a great location and a good experience. We had a lovely stay. Many thanks.

    Vanessa2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • The location is amazing. Right in the heart of the village, within walking distance to restaurants and shops. The parking space is very tight so if you have a large car you would need to use the carpark over the road

    Laura2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely cosy cottage, well equipped and great for visiting with babies as a travel cot and high chair are provided. Close to great walks in the New Forest and set in the heart of a lovely village. Access to the cottage is very narrow - only possible with a very small car. We had to drop off our stuff 10m or so from the property and carry it in then park in the public car park a 2 min walk away (but Sarah provides a parking clock so this didn’t cost us anything). Normally this would be no problem at all but we had 2 babies and lots of kit so a bit of logistics for us!

    Lucy2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • Great location to explore the area from, close to the coast yet in the heart of the forest. Sarah very kindly made the place baby friendly for arrival, with gates and a high chair waiting. Very responsive host and a lovely stay. Also very close to shops and cafes/pubs/restaurants, all that you could need on your doorstep.

    Oliver2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • An amazing property in a fantastic location. Really close to all local amenities such as shops, pubs and restaurants and perfectly situated to get out and about in the new forest. The property was clean, cozy and included everything you would need for a comfortable stay. Sarah is a fantastic host and I would recommend her place to anyone.

The sofa is also wiped down with hot water and bleach. Our local pub is offering a take away service and the local farm shop which is an easy 1/2 mile walk away is open allowing one person in at a time. We are positioned in the middle of the countryside where you don’t have to come into contact with anybody else. You have more chance of meeting a wild pony! It’s self check in so you don’t even have to have any contact with me! I have also set our booking calendar to allow for the hut to be empty for 24 hours between guests rather than guests leaving and arriving on the same day. *Discounts automatically apply to stays of 3 nights or more and goes up the more nights you stay with 12% off a week (7 night) booking. *No extra cleaning fee charged. Little Gate House is located a short drive up a forest gravel track set on it’s own in the corner of our 3 ½ acre grounds providing visitors with a high degree of privacy and peace. The site once formed part of Ibsley RAF base during World War II and Little Gate House was one of the original maycrete buildings. The block of stables that you look out onto is the old latrine block and a couple of Stanton air raid shelters are in the paddock. Literally to the rear of the cabin is the open New Forest providing a whopping 140,000 acres of stunning landscape to explore. Horse riders frequently go by as well as wildlife such as the New Forest ponies, cattle, donkeys, deer, foxes, badgers and an abundance of birds such as owls, woodpeckers and buzzards which are often seen circling above the trees during the summer months. Well designed, the Little Gate House provides a compact yet light and airy space. Inside the fully insulated bespoke cabin, you'll find all the comforts you would expect from luxury self-catering accommodation. Living room open plan with fully equipped kitchen/dining area with full height ceilings, a wood-burning stove and double French doors opening onto a large area of south-facing decking. Cosy bijou double bedroom with full height built-in wardrobe and extra storage space above the bed useful for storing bags etc. En-suite bathroom with over-bath shower, basin, electric ladder radiator and toilet. Wooden floors throughout. Many guests have described Little Gate House as being "Small, but perfectly formed and equipped with everything you need". Enclosed private garden to the side of the cabin ideal for your dog to stretch their legs! Although guests have the convenience of access straight onto the New Forest, there is also quick and easy access to all main roads for visitors to explore the many villages, towns, cities and beaches that Hampshire, Dorset and Wiltshire have to offer. Riding stables 1 mile, watersports/fishing 2 miles, award-winning 'Hockey's Farm' shop and café 10 min walk, the lovely 'Royal Oak' thatched pub and restaurant 20 min walk, 'The Potting Shed' café at Hyde 20 min walk. Ringwood (with a Waitrose, Lidl and Sainsbury's) 5 miles and Fordingbridge (with a Co-op and Tesco Express) 2.5 miles. To walk to Hockeys Farm - left out of electric gates, walk up track behind our property and take the footpath on the left at the corner of our boundary fence, walk through paddocks padding my riding arena and across bottom field. Turn right onto the country lane and follow it to Hockeys Farm keeping to the left as you go. To walk to The Royal Oak - turn left out of electric gates and follow track to end and turn right onto the quiet country lane which will lead you to the pub which will be on your left. To walk to The Potting Shed - go left out of electric gates, go up track a little way and take the first right turn at a house called ‘Gorley Firs’. Walk to top of hill and stay straight and then walk down the hill onto Gorley Common. Walk straight across the common and on the other side of it you’ll walk up a short hill to a forest car park. Walk through the car park and turn left onto the country lane and follow it round to the cafe which will be on your right in a hamlet called ‘Hyde’. ***If the dates you would like to book won't fit into the booking calendar then please message me and I will try to accommodate you. ***We also have a fantastic newly built shepherds hut ('Maurietty') on with Airbnb which would enable a group of 4 people to come away together (2 in the hut and 2 in the cabin). ***Please note that WiFi can sometimes be unreliable due to our countryside location despite the area recently having fibre optic broadband installed. It’s something we’ve learnt to live with - thank goodness for 4G!! ***Extra charge of £25 for a dog payable in cash during your stay.
The New Forest is a former royal hunting ground in the south of England. It was created in 1079 by William I (known as William the Conqueror) as a hunting area, principally deer. Nearly 1000 years later the ancient landscape of his ‘Nova Foresta’ remains almost unchanged and in March 2005 was designated the 8th National Park in England. The park lies mainly in south-west Hampshire, from east of the Avon Valley to Southampton water and from the Solent coast to the edge of the Wiltshire chalk downs covering some 140,000 acres. It is a unique area of historical, ecological and agricultural significance, and retains many of the rural practices conceded by the Crown in historical times to local people. Principal of these is the pasturing of ponies, cattle, pigs and donkeys in the open forest by local inhabitants known as commoners. It is an outstanding recreational area for walking, cycling and riding. North Gorley is a hamlet in the New Forest National Park. Its nearest town is Fordingbridge, which lies approximately 2 miles (3.2 km) north of the hamlet. North Gorley is very quiet and has narrow country lanes which we share with ponies, donkeys, cattle, deer, horse riders etc. North Gorley has one inn, The Royal Oak, which claims to be a former Royal hunting lodge and is a 5 minute drive or a 15/20 minute walk and serves great food. Guests can also walk to the award-winning café and farm shop 'Hockeys Farm' which is approx. half a mile away in South Gorley . They serve an all day cooked breakfast and also provide a bike hire service. It's a 5 minute drive to the A338 which gives access north to Fordingbridge and the medieval cathedral city of Salisbury, and south to Ringwood and the A31 east to Southampton and west to Bournemouth and Poole. It's a 25 minute drive to the South Coast's beautiful beaches. The New Forest is known as a lovely tourist honey pot, but there is a big local secret: the north west quarter is quiet and remote. This is the 'proper' Forest with lovely quiet countryside, animals galore, and even on a bank holiday weekend you can still walk for miles without meeting another person. However, The tourist towns and villages such as Burley, Beaulieu, Brockenhurst, Lyndhurst and Lymington are all easily accessible and well worth a visit. Our favourite is Lymington which is a beautiful 35/40 minute drive through The New Forest going through Burley. Beaulieu is also very quaint and picturesque with an Abbey and there's a lovely walk from Beaulieu village centre to Bucklers Hard.
  • Perfect cosy spot ...ideal location to explore the New Forrest on foot or by car. Highly recommended.

  • A lovely base to explore the surrounding area, the host was excellent and the property exactly as advertised - clean, tidy, well presented and perfectly positioned.

  • We had a fantastic stay in beautiful surroundings. The cabin is amazing, it’s so cosy during cold, wet nights and if the sun shines the outlook across the fields is stunning! Jo has thought of everything, there’s loads of info on the surrounding area and you really are spoilt for choice when it comes to good pubs or farm shops etc in the area. It really is a perfect escape and we’d highly recommend!

    Steve2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • It was an amazing time to getaway with a cozy and comfortable house with a beautiful view in the morning

    Liam2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Beautifully cleaned well equipped cabin with beautiful scenery of Woodlands. Feel very safe and secluded inside the grounds with the electric gates. Every thing is available for your needs, hair dryer, shampoo even an ironing board. Literally jo has thought of everything. We stayed for 2 nights to celebrate our first wedding anniversary and we took our youngest. We took our own travel cot which with had up in living room/kitchen area. Plenty of room. We didn't personally meet Jo however any needs she was only a phone call away, which I personally appreciated being "left to it." All instructions were easy to follow and Jo even gave us a separate set of directions because of the flooding fords. Really enjoyed our experience

    Alice2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is in an idyllic setting and perfect for accessing the New Forest. We could easily have stayed longer and would love to stay there again to see more of what the New Forest has to offer. Jo is a fantastic host and provides excellent information, makes suggestions on travel and activities and checked to make sure we were totally comfortable, which we were. I highly recommend staying here. Thanks again Jo

  • Lovely picturesque cabin in a lovely part of the world

    Mark2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • This cabin is just so beautiful, the space is super clean and cosy, with lovely views and just an all round home-from-home. There’s everything you need for a short break, definitely so much more luxurious than camping in the new forest, but in a simple way so that you can still enjoy the nature and peace around you. Just need to make sure to follow Jo’s directions, especially if arriving after dark! Really appreciated Jo’s friendliness and helped so much with ideas of local places to visit. Hope to be back soon!

    Kasia2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Delightful spot in the heart of the New Forest. This was our second trip to this AirBnb - the only AirBnb we have stayed in more than once! The second time was just as good as the first. We were very lucky with the weather and were able to go walking around the forest with abandon - the location could hardly be better for strolling straight out the front door and off into the forest. However had the weather been bad we would still have had a lovely time reading in the comfy chairs or making the most of the pub next door. Even on their lowest setting the heaters in the AirBnb kept the place cosy and warm. Would happily recommend and I'm sure it won't be out last visit. FYI if you search for the postcode on Google Maps it may (correct as of 13/02/2020) point you to the middle of a nearby field. Instead you are much better to plug in the Trusty Servant address as that takes you closer to the access gate and front door of the AirBnb itself.

An idyllic, romantic retreat in the New Forest with ponies outside the gate. Walk or cycle with miles of land to roam over, or go into Burley for pubs and quaint shops. Free leisure passes for a local holiday park with pools and 9 hole golf course are available. Numerous beaches, Highcliffe, Lymington & Christchurch within 25 minutes, Salisbury 45 minutes, Southampton & Bournemouth 30 minutes drive. Ideal for a quiet break. Up to 3 dogs are very welcome and there's no extra charge for them.
This forest cottage is a newer completely self-contained extension to the old cottage. Full of character, with gorgeous bi-fold doors on two sides out onto the enclosed, dog-proof private garden. Lovely to watch the birds in winter as the lawn is slightly raised and great to have open in the summer. There's a feature wood burning stove in the open plan kitchen/living room and heating throughout. Upstairs the bedroom has views of the forest and stars from the king size bed and a modern wet room with a great digital shower. We love beautiful bed linen and quality duvets so we've furnished with these for added luxury. The two velux windows look over paddocks to the rear of the cottage. There is space in the bedroom for a travel cot and we have had our grand-daughter on an airbed there, although it's not a large room. There is a door at the bottom of the stairs but it's not possible to put a stair gate at the top. The kitchen contains the usual appliances - fridge/freezer, cooker with double oven, microwave, dishwasher & washing machine. A travel cot, high chair, booster seat, large baby bath and inflatable bed are available, if required. Dogs are very welcome but we do ask that they stay downstairs. There is a lawned, private, enclosed garden with furnished summer house and the Forest just the other side of the fence! There is a gravel back yard with brick built barbecue and covered seating area complete with bunting! There are plenty of really good pubs and restaurants nearby and lots of beaches within 30 minutes drive. 20 minutes from Peppa Pig World! **As the cottage is in a National Park, we cannot get fibre yet and the internet coverage is not so fast.
The photos of ponies, cattle, gorse and bracken are taken from the Forest immediately across the road, some of the photos are taken from the garden! The open plan sitting room & kitchen look out onto the garden. Early check-in often available, please ask.
  • Sheena's place was excellent for us. We had a 4 month old and a dog and there was plenty of space. She also offered to leave us lots of baby accessories so we didn't have to bring our own which was very welcomed with an already packed car! The cottage has walks from the doorstep which is great and is tucked away on a quiet road yet still very close to Burley for any essentials. Thank you Sheena.

  • We had a great stay. The Annexe is lovely and has all the equipment you would need. The garden is really nice as well. Our dog enjoyed running around.

  • A lovely space in a fantastic place. With a very, very comfortable bed and instant access to the forest the dodgy Internet signal only adds to its charm - bring playing cards!
