Places to stay in Lympne
20ft up nesting between three sturdy oak trees this treehouse made of recycled timbers has uninterrupted views across the glorious north downs AONB. Cosy and private set on the edge of a barley field the only sound is the wind through the trees and birdsong. Heater and double glazing makes this ideal in winter or summer, and a chemical loo in the cabin at ground level adds a creature comfort. An induction hob, cool box electric kettle Nespresso machine and music system are all there.
The treehouse is cosy with plenty of space for a couple. There is a chemical loo downstairs in a cabin, and shower etc is sometimes available in the house which is reasonably close .... The idea was to create a relaxing space to read admire the views and enjoy quiet times alone or together. I really hope it works and so far the signs are good. There is no noise, but a village with two pubs and a restaurant just over a mile away.
The village of Elham with pubs and restaurant is just over a mile walk away over fields or country lane. Canterbury is half an hour by bus or 20 minutes by car. The seaside is 20 minutes away (URL HIDDEN) Margaret's bay, Folkestone ...
  • We stayed for 2 nights for my boyfriend’s birthday and it was the best trip of our lives. It was so cozy and wonderful and Krisztina was so helpful and kind to us! We can’t wait to come back again. Also, they make the most delicious bread and jam for breakfast!

  • Absolutely amazing! We loved staying in the treehouse, it was a unique stay surrounded by beautiful nature but easy to get to places such as Canterbury! Everyone was so hospitable, and helpful - would love to stay here again in the future!

  • Wow! Such a magical little place, great little getaway from London and is super tranquil and has all you need. Turns out it can even survive a storm!!

    Victoria2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • It was a lovely treehouse, very warm even when outside it was rainy and windy. Very thoughtful touches, a buggy for our way to the treehouse as it was muddy, and a ride back so we won’t have to carry a lot of things and walk, some games in the treehouse, candles and lovely home made bread for breakfast to top our stay! One of the best experiences me and my bf had xx loved it! thanks!

This newly renovated barn is nestled within the grounds of the listed Evegate Manor.
Situated in the heart of the Kentish countryside it offers easy access to London via Ashford international station, is just 10 mins drive from the Channel Tunnel and 25 mins from Dover. Canterbury is just 20 min away and offers a great nightlife with bars and restaurants. The barn has one double bedroom but also has a double bed settee within the living area. This would not be particularly comfortable for adults but would be fine for children or one adult. Guests have the opportunity to be completely independent within this property. There is a fully working modern kitchen within the barn with a convection hot plate, oven, microwave, dishwasher, and a large American fridge freezer, breakfast is not provided. Unfortunately there is no washing machine or tumble dryer within the barn but there are facilities in another area that are available for use at a small additional cost. We are a very friendly and accommodating family and are happy to make our guests part of the family. Any help or advice whilst you are here is no problem to us. The area we live in is very rural but is still within easy reach of towns and city's. London is just 37 mins away if you chose to use he high speed rail like from Ashford.

  • Couldn't recommend this place any more if I tried. We went here for my partners 21st for a quiet night away, prior to my visit I messaged Larissa asking of she could decorate the place and j would transfer the money. It was as if nothing was a problem for them, we arrived to a beautifully clean and decorated cottage with a bottle of prosecco and a cake! Everything we could have needed was there aside from dinner! Even down to the last bit of cotton buds and razors! Breakfast was provided as was a s small snack hamper. Hosts are very attentive and answer messages and are so helpful so quickly. Honestly, a fantastic experience and would happily return!

    Laura2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Great and attentive host! Larissa tried her utmost hardest in making our stay comfortable. Lovely comfy house with a great back garden with stunning views of the field. She compensated us immediately for any problems and made our stay a pleasant one! Would recommend 😊

  • Awesome property and location, friendly owner with various farm animals and cats. Brilliant it’s dog friendly but they must be kept on lead when outside for obvious reasons. An amazing stay.

    Paul2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Both my partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Larissa is a very thoughtful host and the location was perfect if you want a quiet weekend away. Would definitely recommend and we already want to go back for a longer stay.

Pendana Beech House is located in an area of outstanding natural beauty in a quiet rural lane at the foot of the North Downs, not far from the picturesque village of Wye.
The timber framed Beech House is self-contained and ancillary to the main house. It is set in rural Kent at the foot of the North Downs, yet it is still only a short drive from the Channel Tunnel and Ashford International train station. The accommodation comprises of a large comfortable living space with a wood burner, soft seating, a TV and high speed internet access. The one bedroom is equipped with a king-size bed and has an ensuite shower and WC. The living room also has a comfortable 4' wide sofa bed, which would be suitable for two extra people. There is a designated breakfast area with a fridge, kettle, toaster and microwave/grill which also serves as a small oven. There is also single ring counter top halogen induction hob. If you have a larger group we have comfortable double beds in the main house which you can request.
The cottage is within easy walking distance of the North Downs Way with beautiful scenic walks and on clear days stunning views across the channel to France. Wye village is 4 miles away with restaurants and pubs, as well as boutique shops and cafes. We are also fortunate to be in walking distance of some wonderful village pubs each with their own unique character. With a choice of walking distances varying from a 20 minute stroll to a two-hour hike, there is always a pub at the end! The coast too is within easy reach; the nearest beach being at Hythe and a little further on you reach the wind swept Romney Marshes and Camber Sands. The historic city of Canterbury is just a 20 minute drive away.
  • Katy and Brian's place truly deserves five stars all round: unique, peaceful, cozy, charismatic and ecologically friendly. With amazing hospitality to match. What more could you want? Literally, faultless. My girlfriend and I were able to completely relax; made possible by our hosts friendly, welcoming and helpful manner. We were bowled over and fell in love with the place. And can't wait to return. (Cracking Indian restaurant not far as well)

    Luke2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Our little girl likes to choose a tiny house for us to stay in every now and again. This time she chose Pendana. I’m so happy she did, we all had a wonderful time. It was easy to keep in contact with Katy leading up to our trip, and Brian was home to settle us in on arrival. Pendana is much bigger than it looks and is full of thoughtful touches. It was great!

    Kerry2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay, delicious homemade bread and jam and the log fire was perfect for a cozy evening in. Definitely recommend, thanks for having us!

  • This place is exactly as it is in the listing; stylish, comfortable, welcoming, a quiet location making it a really relaxing stay. There were some lovely touches on arrival; fresh flowers, fruit, milk, juice, eggs, bread, butter, jams & cereals. There was a welcome folder with all the information you could need also lots of leaflets for suggestions of things to do in the area and if that’s not enough the hosts are happily available if there is anything you should need.

Dunes View is our lovely 4 bedroom Beach House, enjoying glorious, uninterrupted sea views from the living area and balcony and direct beach access. Perfect for families with kids, and anyone who loves fresh air, beach sports and Hot Tubs! Please note there is a £50 per stay cost to use the hot tub - this will be added to your bill after booking once we have received confirmation you wish to use this facility.
Dunes View is our recently renovated beach front home, featuring open plan living accommodation, clean modern décor and a wealth of features to make the most of Beach front living. Relax with a glass of wine or cup of tea on the extensive balcony with comfy outdoor furniture and gas BBQ and watch the tides wash in and out and the sky in all it's glory, no matter what the time of year. The lounge area features cosy sofa seating for 6 adults and there are two huge bean bags and 2 deck chairs to support a relaxed and flexible family atmosphere. The large picture windows really do showcase the spectacular sea and dune view, without compromising on your privacy. There is a 50' plasma screen, dvd, free view and surround system entertainment package with a selection of CD's to enjoy and connectors for most smart phones to stream your personal music and videos. (high speed internet access is included as standard) The Kitchen is very well appointed with all the mod cons you would expect (dishwasher, microwave, double oven, gas hob etc) and the open plan living arrangements means that chef is never excluded from the action or the views! The stylish bedrooms, all on the ground floor, feature new linens and fresh decoration. Two are ideal for adults featuring King Size beds and fitted wardrobes, the others perfect for kids (one has full sized bunks, one 2x 2ft6 singles) so extended families or 2 family shares are easily accommodated. Two bathrooms, (one shower/bath, one shower) have been recently decorated and installed and feature pumped water pressure systems. Even the mundane aspects of self catering are well catered for; There is an extremely useful utility room featuring separate a washer, dryer and sink - which is accessible straight from the garden to help you deal with the inevitable sandy shoes, clothes and toes. The shower room connects directly here also, so getting the sand out of the harder to reach places is also a breeze. As you would expect, the property is centrally heated. The Garden features a range of outdoor furniture and planting and extensive and private patio area, with your private beach access, which in a matter of footsteps, takes you through a lovely grassy area through to the dunes and the gorgeous, safe and clean Greatstone beach. The Hot Tub seats 6 adults and is located in the private rear garden, so when tired of the view upstairs, have a soak in the tub and enjoy the lovely garden. Day or night, winter or summer, the bubbles are terrific! Please note, children under 12 are not permitted to use the hot tub. If you can drag yourself away from the amazing beach, there is loads to do in the local area, the Romney Hythe and Dymchurch Light Railway is very popular, and you can see the trains pass up the road out the kitchen window and front bedrooms.
Its a very quiet residential neighbourhood, so while we are happy to host groups, we do ask our guests to respect our lovely neighbours and be considerate in regards to any noise they may make on the balcony, in the hot tub and on the dunes.

  • We have just spent 2 nights of quality family time at Johns place. The proerty had everything we could have possibly needed and was very spacious. The hot tub was a welcome treat after a 10 mile walk. Its perfectly situated for the small railway and it was lovely to shop local in the small town without having to drive. We didn't get to meet our hosts but left us in friendly capable hands for check in and check out.

Our Top 10 Recommendations for 2020: 1. NEW The Curious Brewery in Ashford for tours, tastings and dining! And now the Hop Fuzz Brewery in West Hythe - we are spoilt for choice! 2. Micro breweries are a firm favourite particularly the hidden gem that is the Wrong Turn at Barfrestone. 3. The Stag in the Marlowe Arcade in Canterbury is new, hip and cool with an amazing array of wall art depicting Kent beaches. 4. Is your bouldering your thing? Try Chimera Climbing in Canterbury. 5. Macknade Food Hall in Faversham is a fabulous wholefoods market with a rustic cafe or try the Good's Shed in Canterbury next to Canterbury West Railway Station serving 'best of the day' meals from ingredients sourced from the market. 6. Check out the listings for The Quarterhouse in Folkestone and you'll be a few steps away from not one, but two, Banksy favourites! Funky artwork is spread all over Folkestone from the Triennial; look out for the brightly coloured houses or the swinging bell! 7. A beautiful walk or cycle ride will take you along the Crab and Winkle way from Canterbury (starting at the Good's Shed - see above) to Whitstable. Quiet paths, country churches and limitless bluebells make this a stunning Spring adventure! 8. If Parkrun is your thing you can start the alphabet in Ashford but Canterbury, Folkestone and Whitstable will also oblige! 9. Occupying the most photographed building in Canterbury after the Cathedral is the Crooked House (Catching Lives charity bookshop) - a delightfully skewed 17th century half-timbered house in Palace Street opposite the famous Kings School. Duck to enter! 10. A trip out to the Lighthouse at Dungeness (you can see it from miles away on a clear day!) incorporates England's only offical desert. It has a spooky feel .... Archived from 2019: 1. Dover, Walmer and Deal Castles are all close by (sometimes it's worth joining English Heritage for best value deals) - this year Walmer (home of the Lord Wardens of the Cinque Ports most famously the Queen Mother and the Duke of Wellington) has re-opened it's Walmer Glen gardens - check their website for details 2. The Independent Pedaler at Bridge is a cyclist-friendly watering hole with a delicious menu and scrummy home-made cakes (especially the Hummingbird cake). 'Host a Roast' is available on Sundays. They also sell the famous locally made 'Rope and Oak' products. 3. Breakfast with a view - try the kitchen at Sene Valley Golf Course, Hythe! Delicious food, reasonably priced with a glorious view of the sea! Call ahead to make sure they are serving! 4. The new Tulip Tearooms in Bridge offer old-fashioned hospitality and irresistible cakes in the midst of a busy florists shop! 5. Cuddle up on a cosy sofa for two with your favourite alcoholic beverage at the Curzon Cinema in Canterbury - feel free to stroll out to the bar for a top-up mid-movie! 6. Cathedral services are free and the music is always amazing! The Archbishop is in residence at Easter and Christmas; an hilarious 'last night of the proms-esque' carol singing fiesta takes place in the city centre on Christmas Eve - come for a programme waving, knee-dipping sing-song! Early pre-theatre dinner menus are available at Cafe des Amis and Dems. Or after a spectacularly spooky ghost tour with Canterbury's resident 'Ghost Hunter' (book online and meet in St Margaret's Street) calm your nerves with a calorific dessert and/or hot chocolate in Creams. 8. Jazz at The George, Stone Street every Thursday at 8.15pm - real ale and good food! 9. Fancy tripping the light fantastic? Swing Jive (for beginners upwards) at the Southcliff Hotel in Folkestone on Monday evenings from 7.00pm or fortnightly ballroom and latin tea dances at The Burstin Hotel, Folkestone - are you dancin'? 10. Feeling energetic? Try a swim and a roast on Sundays at the Hythe Imperial Hotel, Hythe We haven't tried it yet but our guests tell us the Dover Sea Safari is amazing! Other, more sedate, boat trips are available! Archived from 2018: 1. In beautiful weather you can't beat a sea swim at Kingsdown near Deal where the Zetland Arms is right on the beach! If you're not a sea-bather/channel swimmer but the sun's shining and you fancy a dip try the outdoor (heated) pool at Faversham (seasonal). 2. Sondes Tea House at Sellindge - delicious food and vegan options to eat and all sorts of funky bits and bobs to buy! 3. More of the Harbour Arm in Folkestone has been renovated through the winter including the old Folkestone Harbour railway station - it's better than ever! Beautiful on a sunny evening! 4. Current favourite breakfast spot is Cafe Solo in Canterbury (Wincheap, A28) - so good and excellent value. 5. On a sunny day you can't beat brunch on the beach at Griggs of Hythe. Need to burn some calories? Hire a rowing boat on the Hythe Royal Military Canal. 6. Panoramic views of Dover Harbour and Castle from the Hythe Bay fish restaurant in Dover - we love the balcony bar and the fish is fantastic! 7. Fancy a sneaky safari? Take the footpath alongside the Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch railway station and eventually you will pass through Port Lympe wild animal park - don't be surprised to spot a giraffe through the trees! 8. Fab fish and chips at Hythe from the Park Road Fish Bar! Maybe on the way home from the safari ... 9. Either an ice-cream (closest is a McFlurry from the bottom of the hill) or an alcoholic beverage and salty snack (from Sainsburys next door to MacDonalds) taken to the top of the cliff at Capel - fabulous views of the channel and amazing star-gazing when it's clear! 10. Take a walk along the iconic White Cliffs Way at Dover - stop to examine the Fan Bay Deep Shelter and then tea at the South Foreland Lighthouse before retracing your steps. On a clear day you can see forever! But don't go too close to the edge ... Archived from 2017: Coming in ahead of first place (it was that good!) our new favourite for 2017 is Reculver; visit the Roman Fort and then slip across to see Elwyn the genial host of the Reculver Cafe (not quite Roman but built in 1902 - open til 3ish at weekends; earlier on week days) and enjoy a taste of bygone days. All day breakfasts, egg and chips, toast and marmite; excellent value and great service - a big mug of tea is £1. If you want to walk it off you are a stone's throw from the Saxon Shore Way. There is a public car park (pay and display) or if you are lucky you can squeeze in to the lane next door. 1. Fish and Chips on the beaches at Hythe, Whitstable or Herne Bay; or our current favourite is The Deep Blue, Wincheap, Canterbury (enormous portions for sharing and great value!) 2. Afternoon tea at Tiny Tim's, Canterbury (the 'Hairy Bikers' loved it!) before or after Evensong in the Cathedral (check website for times - weekends are different). Get there early if you want to try a 'Plump Pilgrim'! Kent teas and coffees from Pluckley - our favourite is the smoky Russian Caravan! 3. Coffee and fresh doughnuts after a windy walk at Whitstable - you know you are near by the lovely smell! If seafood is more your thing - they still cook the famous Whelks at Wests on the harbour side. Whitstable is equally famous for its oysters - kick back and relax at the Oyster Fishery or Wheelers in the High Street. 4. Watch the sun set at Farthing Common 'the top of the world!' - or from your private balcony outside the Little Hayloft. 5. Walk or cycle the Great Stour Way - Chartham to Canterbury; or the Saxon Shore Way - Reculver to Margate if you're feeling energetic - ask us for maps! 6. Walk into Elham village and have supper at one of the pubs or the Abbots Fireside (borrow a torch for the walk home!) The pubs normally stop serving at 8pm - earlier at the weekend. 7. Hire mountain bikes and book a guide at Fowlmead Country Park - a disused open cast mine with great views over Royal St George's golf course at Sandwich. 8. We love a good breakfast! Now available at Macfarlane's Garden Centre (now renamed Folkestone Garden Cente but still as good)! 9. Take a tasting tour at Shepherd Neame brewery in Faversham (Britain's oldest brewer - since 1689) - check the dates for the annual autumn Hop Festival weekend. 10. Sip a glass of Champagne at the end of the Harbour Arm in Folkestone (seasonal) - you might also spot Dave the Dolphin (who's actually a porpoise - and a girl - but the name stuck)! The famous Rock Salt restaurant is also nearby - you do need to book (or try the Smokehouse next door for a more relaxed Fish and Chip supper) 11. If you're brave enough check out the Ossuary at St Leonard's Church, Hythe ... 12. Visit the Elham Valley Vineyard and sample their delicious menus - wait a minute? Number 12? We could go on ... okay we will .... 13. Hire a canoe at The George and Dragon pub at Fordwich (Britain's smallest town) and paddle the Stour to the Grove Ferry Inn. The Grove Ferry is also the starting point for a lovely circular walk through the Stodmarsh Nature Reserve. Boat trips available in summer. 14. Drive a 36-ton train on a private track through the Kent countryside. Start the day with a filling cooked breakfast then learn to drive an ex-military train. Don't forget your camera! We are always looking out for new tea rooms, walks, things to see and do (the research is soooooo hard) but come and see for yourselves; you'll never be bored in East Kent! Short of time? Potter along the old railway line which is now the Elham Valley Way. Do check listings for the Marlowe and Gulbenkian Theatres in Canterbury or the cinema in Faversham is only a fiver! George's Turkish restaurant in Preston Street is great too ...and we're off again!
  • Lorna was a very friendly host offering advice and assistance with whatever we needed. The property is charming and has a wide array of facilities available. Would be happy to stay in this beautiful area and property again in the future.

  • We was looking for somewhere relaxing and quiet for a few nights, The Hayloft was the perfect choice! Lorna’s communication was great, answering all our questions before our trip and sending directions the day before arrival. We managed to find The Hayloft easily just by the postcode. Lorna greeted us on arrival, was very friendly and made us feel at ease and if we needed to ask anything we could. The room was so clean and comfortable, very homely and warm. It was equipped with everything we needed and more. The sofa bed was very comfortable and we slept really well. The pubs are only a 10 minute walk across a field, we ate in 2 of the pubs and both served us very good food, the walk back over the fields after dark wasn’t nice but there are torches available in the room-nice touch and needed. The hot tub was such a treat! We used it around 9pm, under the stars with a glass of wine! Perfect! Lorna & Andrew were lovely, very friendly and have a beautiful place, thank you for having us and will definitely be recommending to everyone we know!

A stunning room with lots of natural light, this is a lovely hideaway tucked up close to the centre of the village, in easy walking distance of the castle, bistro and pub. The room has been completely refurbished to a high standard with you very much in mind. An ensuite wet room completes this beautiful space.
Please come and go as you please. We are happy to provide pots of tea and in the process of adding a Nespresso machine within the room (suggest you bring your favourite pods if you are a coffee expert!).
The village is blessed with a fantastic bistro plus a friendly pub. Lots of people visit this immediate area due to the castle being an incredible wedding venue (including our own). Port Lympne Zoo is 5 minutes drive; is a fabulous place to visit plus another favourite for weddings. We are extremely accessible to the Eurotunnel (one junction away) so if you have an early morning train, we are very conveniently placed. At the base of Lympne Hill is The Hatch, selling craft beers including local Hop Fuzz Brewery. Very popular on a summer's evening.
  • A great place to stay, with lovely people who were very welcoming and easy to be with.

The Hangar is a private self contained space built onto our house, so-called because although it is modern, the houses in the area are built on what used to be a World War Two aerodrome where Spitfires would take off to fly across the English Channel. The Battle of Britain Museum is very close by and well worth a visit. The space has a double bedroom and small lounge area with a spare double sofa bed if needed. The new bathroom has a very relaxing power shower. Private patio area is included.
The living area has a double sofa bed which is suitable for one adult or two children. If you need to add more guests, please just email us. There area two patio/garden areas you can use. One is private to you and the other one is used occasionally by the family. There is a parking space reserved for the Hangar and is off road on our large drive. Breakfast is provided and will be a continental type. Tea and coffee making facilities are included and the room also has a fridge, toaster and microwave oven as well as plates and cutlery, although there is no kitchen as such but ideal for snacks etc.
The Hangar is located in Hawkinge which is a designated area of outstanding natural beauty. There are lots of stunning walks and cycle rides on the door step. The coast with glorious beaches are minutes away in the car. There are several supermarkets nearby including a local Lidl’s only 10 minutes walk away. There are three local pubs within walking distance.
  • My husband and I went to Dover for the day to take advantage of our English Heritage membership. The Hanger was a perfect place to stay after a long day of driving and exploring. It is sparkling clean, and has everything you need.

  • Charlotte’s place is fab. It’s really spacious, and I slept so well. It’s in an area right beside the coast so I could walk to Sandgate for training in the mornings, great to have my own cooking facilities too. There are lots of interesting looking little independent shops nearby and there are grocery stores in walking distance. Really great spot.

A great bookshelf that kept us entertained while it rained, and comfortable beds. The space has all we needed. It's located in the heart of the Creative quarter and a few moments walk from the Harbour. There are lots of food options on the street, with a Lidl a 5 minute walk away. We live in a nice area of Folkestone very close to the sea and all it's amenities. Folkestone is a friendly seaside town with a nice relaxed pace of life. There is plenty of beach space for everyone. Not overcrowded like some other English seaside towns. It is a great town for creative types as it has a Creative Quarter and there are lots of little curiosities around. It also has easy access to Dover with sights like Dover Castle or Ashford with it's shopping outlet. All in all a great little town.

Compact accommodation with good size double bedroom and en suite. Large walk in shower. Galley style kitchen.
    Good for Eurotunnel/Dover ferries
Very rural, backing into Royal Military Canal. Great walks. Close to Port Lympne Zoo. Microbrewery and micropub in business centre with great food less (Wednesday to Sunday) than 100 yards,
  • This is the second time we have stayed here. It is a lovely place and Marc and Karen are so welcoming. It’s very convenient as a stopover if you’re using the Channel Tunnel. Super clean and comfortable, with great facilities and lovely extra touches such as milk, eggs and bread to use. It’s also dog friendly! We’d love to stay again!

  • My husband and Im together with our springer spaniels, enjoyed a very enjoyable overnight stay at Marc and Karen's upon our return to the UK from a holiday in France. The space is very comfortable and well organised, and the fridge was stocked with supplies for our breakfast the next morning. We had a beautiful walk along the canal with our dogs before returning to London. All in all, a short but very good experience and we hope to return for a bit longer in the near future.

  • perfect!

    David2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Karen and Marc are particularly welcoming. The charming annex house they offer is very nice and very clean. The bedding is perfect and lovely bathroom. They have the delicate touch of offering a real English breakfast (bacon, eggs, jam, butter, orange juice, milk, yoghurt), I have never seen this during an Airbnb rental! Just across the street you can go for a beer in a bucolic shack by the canal or in a real pub nearby. The sea is 10 minutes, Dover 25 minutes and Canterbury 30 minutes and very easy access. Despite my rather rough English, we were able to discuss things and others in a very pleasant way and we greatly appreciated their hospitality. We strongly recommend that you come and spend some time at home. (the part of the annex house is completely independent, unbeatable value for money and ideal for a weekend at a reduced price with our English friends)

    Sebastien2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place to stay: spacious annex to their house, with living room, bedroom, bathroom and kitchen. Privacy is very much respected. Very nice owners. Good food in the fridge.

  • Marc and Karen made us very welcome and ensured everything we could want was provided. It is a perfect stopover for an early getaway through channel tunnel

My husband Paul grew up in the neighbouring village of Wye and so between us we have a lot of local knowledge. We share our home with our 2 year old Hungarian wire-haired Vizsla Helga. There are 4 steps up to the annex which consists of a double bedroom, shower room, lounge, kitchen and garden room. The Annex is dog friendly too.
The lounge benefits from a multi fuel burner for cosy winter evenings in with logs and coal provided. The kitchen is fully fitted with hob, oven, microwave, large fridge-freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. Outside there is a small enclosed patio area with seating and BBQ. A real home from home.
Set in an area of outstanding natural beauty, the village of Hastingleigh is situated on the North Downs and is just 20 minutes away from the city of Canterbury with it's beautiful cathedral. A trip to France on the Shuttle is just 30 minutes away or the high speed train gets you to London in just 35 minutes from Ashford. If walking is your thing then just step outside the front door for the wonderful views and scenery of the North Downs with footpaths and bridleways in every direction. The village of Wye is just a 5 minute drive away with 3 pubs, bakers, butchers, Co-op, tea room, post office and takeaways. The house borders the Port Lympne wild animal park so you can see Bison and Mongolian ponies from the garden. You can walk the old Saxon shoreline footpath which goes along and through Port Lympne Wild Animal park from which you can often see many of the animals.
  • We spent a wonderful time in this house. All rooms are very cosy. The bedrooms are very confortable. Kitchen big and easy. The garden was a dream and the view incredible. We recommend!

  • Lovely house in a fantastic location. Local castle within a 5 minute walk and only 20 minutes drive away from the sea. Loads of walks and space for kids and dog to run around. All communication was excellent and hopefully we will return.

  • The cottage is in a beautiful location with a field of bison just at the back of the garden. It’s a few minutes walk from Limpne castle and a ten minute walk to the local pub! The local area is great for walking and there’s a lot of wildlife to see. We found the cottage to be cosy - the bedrooms were so welcoming and the kitchen/dining room had everything we needed! We would definitely stay here again in future but visit for longer next time! Thank you for a wonderful weekend!

  • This house is perfect for a family gathering. Loads of space, clean, with comfortable beds. The location is excellent and we had a lovely stay.

  • We were spending a day at Port Lympne which was a Christmas gift to our grandchildren. We decided to make a weekend of it and this house could not have been in a better location, right on the edge of the reserve. My daughter-in-law was thrilled to come across the giraffes on her morning run which, purely by chance, took her around the perimeter!

    Martin2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • The house is large, very comfortable and warm for a winter’s stay, with useful large utility room, huge tv . It’s really close to the Saxon shore path with great views of coastline. Perfect for a large family gathering with big bedrooms, 2 bathrooms. It’s tucked away down a tiny road but instructions were spot on and got us there.

  • Great getaway with friends and a baby for my fiancé’s 30th. All a surprise and we had the best time away. Lovely location. House was really spacious and lovely. Beautiful grounds! All bedrooms great! Definitely would go again and would recommend it.

She was very responsive and helpful with helping me navigate my way around Seabrook and Europe in general! Her home is clean, the breakfast is yummy, and she is a very kind host who is willing to give you space, but also happy to help and chat. I would definitely love to stay again!

  • A unique, thoughtful, stay in a historic landmark, far from the maddening crowd... and a step back to a mediaeval landscape when humans walked and strove to accomplish living in beauty.

  • My partner and I had a lovely nights stay at Ben & Juliets place. It really is a stunning home, very welcoming and comfortable. It is in a great location; quiet and picturesque. We found a stunning pub about 25 mins away (well worth the drive!), The Woolpack in Warehorne, for dinner on Saturday night and enjoyed a stroll around Hythe high street and along the beach the next day. Thanks again!

  • It’s very hard to capture in words how amazing Ben and Juliet’s home is, I can only recommend that people experience the magic for themselves. We had a lovely conversation with Juliet, who took time to be a perfect hostess, despite her busy schedule (Ben was away working). We would definitely like to stay again.

A little cottage, that's very deceiving , it's much bigger than it looks it's also a little quirky which is my style and suits the property that's nearly 200 years old. I will consider a dog staying but need to discuss this first before booking due to my male dog being intact so only castrated males and spayed females. Unfortunately due to a guest I can’t have instant booking on , sorry for any inconvenience
Close to Dover , channel tunnel, fast train link 52mins to London and 5mins for sea.
Marks and Spencer's garage, best fish and chip shop in town . Five mins to tunnel

    Amanda2019-11-09T00:00:00Z
  • Julie's place is just so convenient, straight off the M20 and a great stopover for us on our way to Dover the next day for the ferry. Julie was a lovely host, helped us find a car parking space, and left us a lovely breakfast the next morning. The room was fine, comfy bed, no traffic noise to speak of due to double glazing. And great value too, so would stay here again without hesitation.

    John2019-11-02T00:00:00Z
  • Julie's place is perfect for a stopover if you are traveling to or from Dover or Felixstowe. The room is lovely and Julie is a very welcoming host. There's a fantastic Indian restaurant nearby and parking. Julie's is very reasonable as well.
