  • This spot is lovely! Amazing views, of course, but the house itself is also cozy and nice. The kitchen was great, and the beds were super comfortable. Philip and Laurel were thorough and quickly responsive in their communication.

  • We had such a relaxing time in this home! First, it was a snowy weekend and the owners had shoveled the driveway and salted the steps before we arrived, PLUS they left those tools on-hand so that we could help ourselves should we need them during the weekend. The home offered a stunning view of the gorge both east and west. The furnishings were very comfortable, modern and very nicely decorated and we would love to use the outside amenities in the warmer months. There was prompt communication from the owners and we really felt this was a perfect place to stay. We will be coming here again and again!

  • Nice location place is well kept exactly as advertised and Gloria is a great source of information if you’ve never been to the area.

  • It’s a cozy basement

    Joson2019-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • Creatively decorated cozy basement space. Clean and accessible laundry facilities and a strong internet connection were standouts for me, as I was staying for work. Gloria was a kind and thoughtful host and was very responsive to my needs and questions.

    Christine2018-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Gloria was a great host and extremely responsive if we had any questions. I got to meet her and she is so wonderful in person as well! The place had everything we needed, we left the door open to get some sun, it had a great yard with amazing fruit and my dog enjoyed it as well! It was so great to explore hood river

  • this place has it all! its adorable. and truly gives you that hobbit hole experience. The water is always hot and the temperature in the room is always somehow perfect. everything you need is here. make sure you take time to sign the guest book and read how much other people love this place as well. oh and the fruit trees are very fun as well. also having your own BBQ is a plus. we love to grill. also the host is super sweet and very easy to work with.

    Nikki2018-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Gloria’s place was a real treat! It’s always nice to check into an Air BnB and have some simple staple items available to you, dish soap, sponge, oil, pepper, etc. These items were available to us and make life so much easier! We rented this place to work for the week and the internet connection worked great. Nice, peaceful and great location. Wouldn’t hesitate to book again!

    Sophie2018-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • The Hobbit Hole is a fantastic space, perfect for our family of 3. The amenities covered all of our needs. The yard is beautiful and the location could not have been better. We were able to easily travel between Oregon and Washington making it to all of our favorite spots and many new ones.

    Christen2018-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Gloria's place is perfect if you're coming in to hike the area or kiteboard (we enjoyed both!). As it says, this is the basement level, so not too much light comes into the space itself, but the light in the common room and the gorgeous backyard will fill that need! The space is very well-utilized and comfortable for two or three people, and the kitchen is very well-equipped. Thank you, Gloria!

Rustic riverfront cottage with newly updated furnishings. 8 acre private property with 1,000 feet of Klickitat River frontage. Swim, SUP, Fish, Canoe from the private river access. Pure tranquility on this pristine private property on the edge of Lyle. 12 minute drive to the Hood River bridge. Have a coffee while sitting on the deck with 180 degree river views. Enjoy an evening drink while sitting in the hot tub watching Eagles fish from the river.
  • This is a great rustic cabin, perfect for small families or couples, or a small group of friends. The place was cool on a weekend that saw temps in the 90’s thanks to the window AC and a stand-alone unit he put in the kitchen. Two fans provided plenty ly of airflow in the sleeping area and the bed was very comfy (just be careful getting up if you’re tall). The shower is tight but the water is hot and with great pressure. Plenty of towels. The kitchen has all the plates and cooking utensils you’ll need, and some basics like spices and such. Bring everything you want to cook with, like hot sauce, extra virgin olive oil, etc. he has a French press and Italian Moka pot for coffee which was great. Grill and paddleboards are in the laundry room next door and are great. Washer/dryer if you need it. Great wineries close by, great running and walking path next door (literally), and plenty of great hikes/biking trails close by. The real star of this show is the river and it’s beautiful, as is the abundant wildlife, seeing deer on the property every day, bald eagles, steelhead jumping, and even enjoying a pack of coyotes howling for 15-20 minutes during happy hour. In summary, this is a great space and I hope to be able to come back again ( preferably when the chinook are running :-)

    Todd2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Such an amazingly beautiful property! The cabin was clean and comfortable and the hot tub was wonderful. The host was very helpful with local recommendations and easy to communicate with. The river views and access can't be beat! Loved our stay here!

    Lauren2019-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place is perfect for a getaway from it all ..... private, peaceful yet near most anything you would need. It’s beautiful , overlooking the river every sunrise and sunset , also all of the nature is awesome. I can’t say enough about the great time we had. Morgan even happen to have 2 paddle boards we used right on the property and took a paddle up to the beach on the Columbia River. The hot tub was killer also enjoyed that under the stars !

    Jackie2019-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • Being right on the Klickitat River for the weekend was a great experience. Easy access to fishing and hiking, a quiet bench by the river for morning coffee, and easy access to Hood River for dinner.

    C.J.2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great little rustic place, in a small town with some nice views and acreage. Lots of hiking opportunities which we took advantage of. When we had some minor issues, Morgan was a quick communicator and great and caring host. He even bought a BBQ for us to do BBQs and had it delivered, pronto!! Now everyone will enjoy this as well. He has a nice, clean and lovely place and me and my family enjoyed ourselves... oh and I almost forgot to mention the bald eagles and the jacuzzi... what more could one ask for?

    David2019-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • Jaw dropping property. Private forest in the backyard leading down to a picturesque tributary of the Columbia River. Oh, and the hot tub is a dream.

This beautiful cabin is set by itself in the arm of a bend in the Klickitat River. The sunlight streams in during the day, and no lights intrude at night, making an incomparable star scene, as viewed from the rooftop deck. It's cozy and warm, with a woodstove to keep you company on a chilly night.
Welcome to the beautiful Klickitat River valley, in the heart of canyon country. Nestled between several facets of the Klickitat River's winding walls, you'll feel safe n' snug while away on the river; the mighty gorge winds barely nudge us up here (most days!) We are situated just four miles from highway 14 in Lyle (off easily navigable highway 142), so although there's a bit of an "away from it all" feel while here, you're close to the Columbia River gorge for all manner of activities, as well as a launching pad for Mt. Adams up north, and Mt. Hood down south. Hood River, White Salmon, Bingen, the Dalles..all within a twenty minute drive in whatever direction you choose. Hiking, sailing, kite-boarding and windsurfing, mountain climbing and cycling, fly fishing and kayaking, all these activities and many more abound in the area, and we are just beyond the fabled "rain shadow", so your assurance of sunny weather is more predictable than west of the Cascades (we receive around half the rainfall of Portland). It can get quite warm in late summer in the east gorge, yet this little corner of the river bend is shady and cool. This lovely, freestanding cabin is 384 square feet, fully self-contained, and is very comfortable for either a weekend stay or longer (it is behind the dwelling the landlord resides in). There is a rooftop deck, with overhead lights and a gas grill for your pleasure. It's an informal setting around here, with plenty of space outside to stow fishing poles, windsurfing gear, etc. New queen-size bed (with memory-foam topper), gas oven and stove, window coverings (blinds), well-water pump outside, lots of parking on gravel drive, and a newly-installed air conditioning unit are the general amenities here at the cabin. There are modern conveniences like: microwave oven/coffee machine/television etc, so it's more than a rustic getaway, and the wood stove will heat the space efficiently, and in quick order.
This is a safe, private community of just a few homes. We pride ourselves on having a neighborhood feel in the midst of the Klickitat River canyon.
  • Excellent, friendly communication. Easy to find. Very clean. Great wood burning stove. Wifi worked well. Loved the farm fresh eggs, and proximity to the Klickitat river trail. Great if you are looking for a little place close to natural attractions. Just be aware that the main house is less than 50 feet away and obscures most of the airbnb view.

  • Amazing place, totally worth every penny.

    Antonea2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Roberta and Erik were great hosts. Quick to respond and helpful. The ADU rental space is as advertised and is a perfect launching point for local outdoorsy activities or for laying low and relaxing. Also, Autumn is an amazing time of year to be in this predominantly Oak forest. We hope to be back!

    Michael2019-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great cabin in the woods vibe. Wood stove is amazing and toasty! Love the floor layout too. I would definitely stay there again.

  • I will be coming back, beautiful location and felt like home!

    Gunes2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • What a perfect place for a peaceful getaway! The cabin is set in a beautiful spot above the gorgeous Klickitat River, with tons of phenomenal hiking nearby. The house itself is so clean, open, and cozy. We loved cooking and eating by the woodstove. The roof deck looked fantastic - we hope to return in warmer months to take advantage of that space too. Eric was a fantastic host, inviting and generous. Thanks so much!

    Noel2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect for a single person or couple’s getaway! We loved the location and being so close to many amazing Fall hikes and outdoorsy things to do. Farm fresh eggs were a treat (thank you, Eric!) and we appreciated all the hiking and local info our hosts provided. The cabin is comfortable and has all the things you really need. The rooftop seating area is delightful (maybe just clean off the chairs?) and listening to the river while sitting there, sipping wine, was a favorite pastime for us :)

    Hillary2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • This little cabin has everything you need for a relaxing and restful escape. Fall asleep to the soothing sounds of the river and wake up with a cup of coffee on the deck. A great home base for exploring nearby hiking trails and wineries, as well as a cozy place to read a pile of books. We’ll be back!

Surrounded by cherry orchards, Carroll House is an 860 sqft, two bedroom, one bath guesthouse, located in the Mosier hills. The house can comfortably host 6 people(1 queen, 2 twin, 1 full size air mattress). Open concept living space with dine-in kitchen. This space was designed for slow, cozy living. I hope you enjoy every part of your visit, from making local coffee, watching the sun set, stargazing, and making popcorn while you catch up on your favorite show.
For over 100 years Carroll House has sat overlooking the cherry orchards of the Mosier Valley. Built by the original owners of the property George and Emma Carroll, the structure was originally used as an equipment workshop and has since been used as a storage facility, florist shop and commercial kitchen. Completely renovated in 2018, Carroll House at Cherry Hill Farm now looks forward to hosting guests as it begins this new chapter in this beautiful valley.
Carroll House at Cherry Hill Farm is set amongst the cherry orchards of the Mosier Valley. The property has dramatic views across the river to Washington and the Syncline. While the property is only a short two mile drive outside Mosier city limits, it feels much more secluded.
  • Cant say enough good things about this place. Carroll House is set in a beautiful location. It is clean, so well decorated and stocked with everything you need to have a great get away. You wont be disappointed. We will definitely be coming back to this wonderful spot.

  • We had such a wonderful stay. It was clean, spacious, and well equipped for our stay. We loved how much thought was put into this beautiful home, including hangers small enough for our child's coat, a cute little barn toy for her to play with and fresh cut rosemary on the kitchen windowsill. We will absolutely be back.

The property is about 8 miles to Hood River, but the drive simple and beautiful. We plan to come back. Thank you for your hospitality!

  • Cynthia’s Airbnb is even better in person than we could have expected. The view of Mt Adams from the dining nook is unbeatable and we chose to stay in for our meals so we could sit and enjoy the view. The bed is comfy and the space is very warm and cozy. Collecting fresh eggs for breakfast was such a treat! Cynthia was really kind and great with communication though we never had the chance to meet in person! The location is close to pretty much everything! We will definitely be back

Welcome to my home in the heart of the Gorge! You're walking distance from the sandbar, the Klickitat Trailhead, wine tasting and more. Enjoy the views, explore the great outdoors, you're minutes from world-class kiting, kayaking, hiking, and fishing - or visit one of our local wineries, breweries, cider makers. Relax in sleepy Lyle or in just 15 mins you can be in Hood River for a night on the town! Furry friends (well-behaved dogs) are welcome.
Enjoy a view of the Gorge from the kitchen, bedrooms and deck of this home. I stay here part-time so my kitchen is well equipped for home cooking.

  • Home was as described. Great for a short getaway, or like in our case a longer term stay for business. Gloria was easy to contact and friendly host.

    Erik2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • The house is really well set up and actually a bit bigger than we were expecting. Gloria is a great host who immediately answered any questions we had. Would definitely stay there again!

    Karen2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay. Great place, nice and clean.

    Irene2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • The upstairs at Gloria's place (she rents the basement also) is quite comfortable, clean and spacious. The kitchen is modern and well equipped (one of our most frequent complaints about airbnbs is kitchens where someone seems to have never really lived there - considering the lack of everyday practical kitchen ware, coffee making support, etc.). But this is not a problem with Gloria's upstairs kitchen. If Lyle is a good base for your visit then Gloria's place will be a good home for you.

    Paul2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Unbelievable views from the kitchen, comfy reading chairs among the fruit trees in the back yard, and comfortable beds all in a quiet little town on the Washington side of the gorge. Well worth the money!

    Chase2019-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and his crew stayed here while they were working in the area. They enjoyed it and would stay again.

  • Very cozy spot on the Columbia with great access to both Oregon and Washington adventures. House was well equipped and accurate from the photos. Gloria is super easy to communicate with and very responsive. Would definitely stay here again.

Twin Oaks is an updated doublewide home perched on a basalt knoll with 11 beautiful acres overlooking vineyards and the Columbia River. Views include river and gorge to the west and north. In springtime see waterfalls on the Washington cliffs. Located 8 miles east of Hood River, Twin Oaks is near Mosier on scenic Hwy 30. This is in the heart of the Columbia River Gorge, with nearby hiking, biking, watersports, boat ramp, & ski areas. Enjoy the numerous wineries and local microbrews in the area.
Twin Oaks house is 1800 square feet, one-level, 3 bedroom, 2 bath. This is an 80's doublewide; but don't worry, shag carpet is gone and the wallpaper is painted over. We are gradually updating and improving it, and it's a very clean and comfortable space now. Let's call it an artsy cabin ambiance with touch of Ikea.
The setting is oak and pine prairie and meadow with basalt outcroppings. The landscape is natural, and we regularly see deer, turkey, coyote, redtail hawk, osprey vulture, bald eagle, and golden eagle. The bird feeders attract red and yellow finch, nuthatch, towhee, chickadee, western bluebird, redwing blackbird, western tanager, sparrow, and junco. Enjoy wildflowers April-May. Two nearby hikes provide more opportunities to connect to nature. Two wineries with tasting rooms are within walking distance.
  • This is an older, modest manufactured home on what might be one of the best properties in the gorge (certainly that I've ever been on). The views and property itself are breathtaking. We found it to be a very functional home, probably the most functional that I've ever stayed in. I found the value to be very high and would certainly recommend it to anyone who enjoys taking in the scenery of the gorge.

    Micah2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • This place is awesome! The price is fantastic compared to other places in the area. It was perfect for a small family gathering, including with small kiddos and a dog. The house isn’t fancy but had everything we needed, and the property and the view were outstanding. We will definitely stay here again!

    Kiel & Hazel2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great views of the Columbia River and a decent sized lot if you wanted to run around, although it is on a hill. Good value, with cool furniture. The house itself is older and could use some work getting baseboards in and fixing some unfinished parts of the house. With that said, it is a good house for an event, or get-together for adults.

  • Loved everything about this place. My husband and I wanted a place to unwind but that wasn’t too far away from nice bars and restaurants, if we decided to go out one night - and this house was that perfect place. We made a fire one night, were able to bring our puppy with us and the house had everything you need for a great stay. Mike and Laura were very quick to get back to me and gave us good tips for places and wineries to go to. Will be staying here again.

    Karla2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • The view was spectacular and the home was cozy. We played board games (so many to choose from!) in the evening and explored and hiked during the day. This was the perfect short getaway for us. The hosts were friendly and quick to respond to our messages and gave suggestions for places to visit while we were there. The beds were comfy, the kitchen had everything we needed, and the living room made us wanna stay so much longer with views during the day and a great stereo and games or puzzles at night. I would definitely recommend staying here for the hospitality, views and cozy space.

The Lyle Hotel Restaurant and Bar was built in 1905 in the beautiful Columbia Gorge. It was an outpost and meeting spot for railroad industrialists, and road builders. It has a rustic charm and a comfortable atmosphere to relax and plan your Gorge adventures.
  • Very cute and historic little hotel , everything was spotless and very comfortable.

    Gretchen2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Had a great time!

    Kevin2019-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • The Lyle is an amazing place with charming character and history. I was warmly welcomed and given a tour around, and was made to feel right at home immediately. The room is clean, comfortable and quiet. Had coffee and cereal on the house in the morning and very much wished I could spend few more hours there before hitting the road. I highly recommend this place if you are planing on spending the night at Lyle.

  • Lyle Hotel is a wonderful experience and quite a bargain. The rooms are cozy, shared bathrooms but never had to wait. The breakfast options are perfect for a quick start to the day and the dinner is a must! The food was delicious. The trains are very close but surprisingly didn’t cause any trouble sleeping. Great location for many nearby activities. Would go back again.

    Kim2018-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • This place was so incredibly charming. We had a great dinner the first night, enjoyed the coffee and granola in the morning and loved relaxing on the back patio. Everyone we encountered was so kind and attentive and we can't wait to come back again.

    Julia2018-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • I so enjoyed my stay at The Lyle Motel. This historic railroad hotel is alive once again thanks to the labor and dedicated management of Trese and Richard. Their efforts are evident in all the details here to be enjoyed. It's a great getaway close enough to Hood River to hang out there if you want. Check in was easy. The first thing I noticed when we arrived in the building was how fresh everything smelled, which isn't always the case when staying in an older place. The shared bathrooms were spotless. The mattress and linens were grand. As other guests have noted, the trains are frequent, but surprisingly lulling, and did not disturb my or my partner's sleep. The simple breakfast that is available in the morning is more than adequate. Check out was unencumbering. And if you're lucky, Richard might be up and about, and you'll get to say goodbye. This was a terrific stay. A trip back in time, superior hosts, great little restaurant down the stairs, and a good night's sleep. I recommend this Airbnb.

Enjoy our luxurious rustic yurt in the Columbia River Gorge. Come to play in the Gorge and retire to your own private yurt surrounded by Nature in the scenic town of Mosier. • This is a lovely home with lots and lots of space. It was perfect for our group of 7! It allowed us all to stay in the same place and cook some lovely meals together. The kitchen has everything you need to cook full, delicious meals. Plus, the view is absolutely gorgeous. We were worried about the noise from the highway and train tracks below, but they didn't bother us at all while we were sleeping.

    Andy2019-05-10T00:00:00Z
  • The gorge views are fantastic and the location is super easy to access from I-84. This house was perfect for our group of 6 adults (3 couples). It could have slept 6 more people in beds. (the bunk room alone can sleep 6). Tons of hang out space. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you might need to cook meals. We would definitely book this place again if the occasion arises. The dining table/area is cozy (tight) for 6 people and really cannot accommodate more. So, if you have a big group and plan on eating lots of meals together, consider that you'll need to overflow onto the deck or into the living room... which are both right there with great views.

  • This is a beautiful house with a beautiful view tucked away from the hustle and bustle! The listing says one bedroom, but it is actually three bedrooms and a nook with a bunk-bed. There are lots of rooms and places to sleep! We couldn't get over the gorgeous view. It was like having a nature documentary right outside your window. We saw tons of bald eagles and even golden eagles, which I've never seen before!! The kitchen had everything we needed. The fireplace was absolutely heavenly. I highly recommend Kirsten's house!

We loved sitting in the living area with a fire in the fireplace and admiring the fantastic view of the river. We hope to come back in the summer! Also, Kristen was very quick to reply to our questions.

  • This home could not have been a better fit for our long weekend! I will start with - it gets a perfect 10! (In case this gets too lengthy...) As we were driving to the home, I said to my daughter, I hope this is as nice as we think it is... Because sometimes you just never know... We slowly pulled into the driveway and said.... so far so good!... We got out of the car and walked towards the sliding doors and back yard and were amazed! The deck, yard and views were absolutely perfect & wonderful! The river was spectacular! We could not believe how lucky we were! We walked into the home and it just had a great feel to it! The kitchen was perfectly stocked and perfect for preparing dinners in! The bathrooms were perfectly stocked! The linen's perfectly stocked! The master suite awesome! The weather was a bit rainy (surprise?) but that did not stop us from spending the majority of our time outside under the covered deck with the heater! And we saw multiple rainbows, which I am guessing may be fairly common!! We could not have been happier! I REALLY hope we are able to visit again! :o) Thanks very much Kristen!

  • This place is magical. The outdoor space overlooking the Columbia River is absolutely to die for. This is our happy place and so nice to enjoy with other couples! The kitchen is well stocked and the house is designed to give guests privacy. We try to return once a year and are always happy and thankful to be in such a private, quiet setting looking over the Gorge!!! The stars shine brighter in this place. We are truly in “Awe” and it’s hard to come home.

    Janelle2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Wow... just wow! We travel to the area regularly to visit my brother at the Oregon Veterans Home in the Dalles, and are always looking for nice places to stay. Kristen’s home is the best so far, and would be very hard to surpass. River front views, fabulous outdoor covered patio, artistically appointed and so very well equipped. I can only hope it’s available next time we visit... fingers crossed!

  • Absolutely amazing spot. Kite boarder’s dream kite in kite out location with a beautiful river view. Plenty of beds and and kitchen supplies for a big group. Kristen was super responsive and accommodating!

    Matt2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • Kristen’s place was just as described! The views of the gorge were spectacular and we had everything we needed onsite for a lovely little staycation. My family and I had all the necessary kitchen tools and amenities that we didn’t have to leave the property for the entirety of the weekend. One tiny hiccup in the trip was the availability of the ping pong table. It was locked away in the garage which we did not have access to. We contacted the caretaker but they were unavailable and could not bring it out for us. It was not a big deal because we brought other games to entertain us. Other than that, we had an amazing time with memories that will last a lifetime. Thank you, Kristen for sharing your lovely home.

Just outside of Hood River, OR and about 45 min to Mt Hood or PDX. Close to recreational activities (snow & river sports, biking/hiking trails, nightlife, wine/beer/cider tasting). Columbia River views, hot tub, fireplace, modern decor. Entire home for rent.
Our home has always been a private vacation rental so its already set up for friends and family to gather in a relaxed, comfortable setting. The master suite includes a king size bed with memory foam topper as well as an attached bathroom with luxury soaking tub, separate shower and plenty of counter space. The master suite has private access to the balcony/hot tub. The other two bedrooms share a full bathroom. Our garage is set up as a game room with ping pong, pool table and darts. The hot tub overlooking the Columbia River is probably one of the finest features but cozying up by the fireplace on a cold day is a close second.
Our vacation home is located at the end of a quiet cul de sac, many of the homes on the street are private residences or vacation rentals, there is very little traffic, friendly neighbors, no crime, safe, walking distance to the The Mosier Company restaurant/bar, Brenna's Mosier Market, post office, Mosier Plateau hiking trail/waterfall/swimming hole, and a short drive to the Mosier beach that is also a windsurf/kiteboatding launch site.
  • The house is stylish, spacious and close to Hood River. But the view is the real show stopper. Nothing beats sitting in the hot tub with bald eagles soaring overhead and the beautiful Columbia river filling your view. Can't wait to return.

  • Was a wonderful place to stay, with lots of things to do at the house. Loved how open the house was. Wish I had booked the house for longer!

  • Rachel was great to work with and her place is worth every penny. Great spot for a small get together. I just wish we had spent more time there.

  • House was very clean and the view was beautiful. Everything was great. Rachel was a pleasure to work with. The house was a tad smaller than expected and the water heater needs to be turned up a bit, but other than that this is a great vacation home.

  • The first thing that caught my eye was the view. It was absolutely stunning! The house was very clean and well stocked. Check-in was easy and Rachel was very accommodating. The minimalist decor had a pleasant de-stressing effect as well. Would stay again!

Halfway between Hood River and The Dalles on old Highway 30 with frequent wildlife..... Scenic walks out the front door......This room is in our house with walking access to Rowena Viewpoint and Tom McCall Preserve. Minutes from Memaloose and the Mosier Tunnel trail..... We are nestled in a canyon and walk out the door to some of the most amazing views in the gorge, in the privately owned field above the house..... Absolutely no smokers, not inside or out, due to extreme fire danger.
You are renting a corner room with a queen sized bed, desk, and chaise in a remote creekside home, nestled in a canyon in the Gorge Scenic Area near Mayer State Park (12 miles east of Hood River). Due to legal restrictions this listing was off the market, but we are now allowed to host visitors again and we are excited about it. Being an AirBnB Host was great fun when we did it before! The property is frequently visited by deer and a gaggle of wild turkeys, and you will hear birds sing in the morning. Coffee and tea are included. HIKING: There are hiking trails minutes away from the house. Wildflowers abound in the spring. CYCLING We are avid cyclists. Road cycling is stellar, Seven Mile Hill is just up the road. Mountain biking in nearby Hood River and Syncline (Coyote Wall) is world famous. We have a safe place to store your bicycles. WINDSURFING/KITEBOARDING We are just a few miles away from some of the best windsurfing and kiteboarding in the country. (3 miles from Mayer State Park, 5 miles to Rock Creek/Mosier
We think we live in paradise. The photos are just iPhone snapshots and don't do the area justice. We live in a private community cul-de-sac that is part of the Columbia Gorge scenic area. We are surrounded by trees, right next to a seasonal creek. Walking and cycling is right out the door. The photos summarize our neighborhood. • Comfortable room in a beautiful area of the Gorge. Highly recommend staying here, especially if you like hiking, biking, or windsurfing!

  • Cool space close to Rowena Crest. No cell reception, but wifi worked great.

    Sara2019-08-02T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice place not far from many hikes and breweries. The host are very active people and give great tips to the area.

  • Paul and Ines are genuinely wonderful people and fantastic hosts. I came as a stranger and left as a friend.

    Michael2019-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • I had a wonderful two day stay on the Columbia River over the July 4th holiday. It was nice to stay with Paul and Ines in their super comfortable and relaxing home. Paul and Ines (and their friend) were very friendly and accommodating. The thing I liked most about the trip is that their home is along some country roads with scenic views which really adds to the experience compared to staying in a hotel. There's even access to a short walk to some scenic views from their home. They're very close to wineries on the Oregon side and it's just as easy to get to the ones on the Washington side. I also did a day trip to Mt. Hood which was very easy... I'd suggest staying there instead of Govt Camp any day! Thanks again for such a wonderful and relaxing two to three days in the Gorge! I hope to get back sometime in the future!

    Matt2019-07-06T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful time. Beautiful place to stay. We saw deer right from our window, and amazing stars. I definitely recommend!

  • Great place with amazing hosts, loved looking up at the stars.

    James2019-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • What an incredible place to stay! Paul and Ines are wonderful hosts, and live in an absolutely gorgeous house conveniently located between The Dalles and Hood River. We enjoyed the short drive up the canyon from The Dalles, and felt very welcomed and completely at home there. We had many great conversations and really enjoyed the beautiful setting. We loved the sunset walk out on the bluffs that Ines took us on. Warm wind, sweeping views, and lots of wildflowers...all right there just out their front door. Paul and Ines have a lovely Golden Retriever named Sophie who is a sweet gentle soul. Our Husky Ellie was very happy to meet Sophie and stay the night with us in such a special place. We look forward to many more visits when back in that area. The location, house, and hospitality were all top notch!

Spring is here and the Gorge is surrounded by wildflowers, waterfalls and rainbows. There is no place more beautiful than here this time of year. Just 6 miles from Hood River and 45 minutes from Mt Hood, come experience all that the Gorge has to offer. Gorgeous fully equipped granite island kitchen. Large bedrooms, all with decks and views. Awesome mosaic tile showers. Great location in Mosier close to skiing, snowshoeing, biking, hiking, wind sports, rafting and wonderful cuisine.
The property makes a great basecamp for experiencing the Gorge’s many activities like kitesurfing the Columbia, rafting the White Salmon, hiking Dog Mountain, mountain biking the Syncline (Coyote Wall), skiing Mount Hood, touring the Fruit Loop, sipping beverages at the many local wineries and breweries and viewing the regions many waterfalls. The property is a short 10 min drive to Hood River (6.5 miles), 45 minutes from Mount Hood and about 45 minutes from Portland
The Gorge View Basecamp is just a short walk to the wonderful Mosier Company restaurant, coffee shop and bar. This is our favorite spot in the region and has great food, drinks, live music and just a great atmosphere. The property is also a short walk (10 min) to Mosier Falls. Mosier Falls has a great swimming hole for hot summer days. There is a wind and kitesurf beach launch right down the road and the house sits right on the Historic Columbia River Highway trail that runs from Troutdale all the way to The Dalles. We love taking bike rides from the house, through the Mosier Tunnels and up to Hood River. The property serves as a great basecamp for winter ski trips to Mt. Hood and the surrounding ski resorts, just about a 45 minute drive from the house.
  • We had an awesome time at Gorge View Base Camp. Highly recommend it!

    Lauren2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The Gorge Basecamp home was incredible. It was sparkling clean and very inviting. The bathrooms were incredible & the beds were very nice & well kept. There is plenty of closet space as well. The wrap around porch & balconies are perfect for morning coffee and night time star viewing. I also had an opportunity to meet the tenant below and she was very sweet and cordial to us staying upstairs. I give this home 5/5 stars and will most certainly bring my family back this summer to stay. Thank you for the hospitality!

  • We had a great time at this house! It's really a beautiful home in a beautiful setting. Everything met or exceeded our expectations and we'll definitely keep it in mind in the future for our trips to the gorge. The kitchen was really well laid out, well equipped with great appliances and had high end finishes. The furniture and beds down to the sheets and towels are all very high quality and comfortable. We also loved all the art and interesting light fixtures. The bathrooms were very clean, spacious and spa like. We loved sitting in the living room, switching on the fireplace and taking in the wonderful view as the sun went down each day. It was definitely a place we'd recommend highly without hesitation for whatever you're looking for in the gorge!

  • Great house for family gatherings and for soaking in the beauty of the Columbia Gorge. We liked the location in Mosier as it is close to Hood River, but out of the busyness, noise and bustle. Kitchen was great for cooking and entertaining. Loved the windows and outdoor living space looking out towards the Gorge. Kenny was responsive to our questions and truly seemed to care that we had everything we needed.

  • We had such a great time at this hotel. The dinner was fantastic. We are already planning a return trip to wine taste. Yes, it is a railroad hotel, but really, the trains did NOT bother us. After traveling all day, we couldn't wait to get here, get settled, have a glass of wine, then dinner and then out on the patio for a fabulous, warm evening. Bottom line: we LOVE The Lyle Hotel!

  • We have been doing Airbnb for years. This house was very clean, nicely laid out, had many ammenities for all ages. Great location to trails! Awesome view! Plenty of blankets to be used everywhere. We rented both the house and the nest. We were at capacity! Plenty of eveyrthing we needed. Jill's communication was speedy and just perfect there too. Highly recommend! The driveway is steep - LOL! We had snow the last day but shovels and salt prevailed. There is enough room up top to maneuver vehicles and people. No worries there.

  • What a gem! Ending our Oregon road trip here was the best thing ever. Rooms are very tastefully done, more than enough bathrooms to share, and their patio plus restaurant are more than great! Even got to enjoy some live music. Home away from home.
