“The Kapellbrücke (literally, Chapel Bridge) is a covered wooden footbridge spanning diagonally across the Reuss in the city of Lucerne in central Switzerland. Named after the nearby St. Peter's Chapel, the bridge is unique because it contains a number of interior paintings dating back to the 17th century, although many of them were destroyed along with a larger part of the centuries-old bridge in a 1993 fire. Subsequently restored, the Kapellbrücke is the oldest wooden covered bridge in Europe, as well as the world's oldest surviving truss bridge. It serves as the city's symbol and as one of Switzerland's main tourist attractions”

“Nice atmosphere for a drink and talk, you can also have some food, but it is not a proper restaurant. From the main window in front of the bar and from the terrace, it has a nice view of the city ”

“Mt. Pilatus is available by having the train or boat to Alpnach and up with it's famous (and possibly world's steepest gear/cogwheel track. It's worth to take the alternative to take up a standard gondola to make it up faster and probably cheaper.”

“The Lion is Lucerne's main city symbol after "Kapellbrücke". It's a silent spot to enjoy. Don't miss to throw a coin backwards over your shoulder into the little water-fountain. Nearby there is the museum of glacers, called "Gletschergarden", with it's well located "vista point" on the tower.”

“The Gletschergarten in Lucerne is a natural monument with park and museum; It was opened on 1 May 1873, the museum building dates back to 1874. "glacial potholes" and a "millions of years show" take the visitor in times when huge glaciers covered the country or subtropical palm beaches were found here.”
