  • Great value accomodation. Stephen's responses to my questions were quick and helpful, check-in easy, the room spacious and warm - and and both, ensuite and room sparkling clean.

  • Great location. Clean and safe

    Colin2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great stay here - hosts are extremely accommodating, friendly and helpful. I needed to check-in early due to illness and hosts did everything to accommodate me, both at the time and the following morning. Rooms are just above the bar and there's a separate entrance so no dramas getting in and out. Might want to bring earplugs if it's a room next to the main road, though it's not a busy road. I've stayed in two different rooms now (on two trips) and both were extremely clean, warm and very spacious. Location was perfect for me as I was working nearby. Excellent value for money, I will be staying here again!

Situated on a quiet, remote site but within 4 miles of the nearest town, Ballymahon, and 12 miles from Athlone. The house has a modern feel to it having been constructed 10 years ago with plenty of space and most mod cons. Privacy is restricted to guest's own room as my wife and I are the only permanent occupants and will be using all of the facilities as well. Guests can choose a configuration of 1 double bed or 1/2 single beds.
  • Beautiful house set in rolling countryside - I was working nearby so the location was perfect for me. Really spacious room, very comfortable and sparkling clean. Communication was great and had no trouble finding the house or coming and going. Have already booked in to stay again - highly recommend!

We will definitely be back in the future!

He then left us to ourselves but said that he was at the end of the phone if we needed anything. It was such a relaxing weekend and we were not in need of anything. We have already spoken about how we would love to stay again and for longer!

  • Thomas and Larry were unbelievably great hosts. They are very accomadating and friendly. Their hospitality is flawless, and there was little features like a bottle of water and treats in the room which really shows they go far and beyond to make guests feel welcome and comfortable. Would highly recommend staying here.

  • It was a pleasure to stay with Thomas and Lawrence. Nice lads who really made us feel at home. Quiet and peaceful location, room cleaned daily and fresh towels available as and when needed. The selection of fruit, snacks and water waiting in our room in the evening was a nice touch. I would recommend staying here as it really is good value for money.

    Paul2019-07-01T00:00:00Z
  • Tom and Harry make it seem as if you are staying with friends for the night as they do not treat you as merely a paying customer. The en suite room was quiet and had an extremely confortable bed. The location is only a short walk from the village of Ballymahon and the over- priced pub accomodation located there. I highly recommmend staying here.

We welcome you to our beautiful country stone house, situated down a tree lined avenue less than five kilometers from Lough Rynn house and gardens. This charming house has a fully equipped kitchen with all mod cons. It has a mezzanine balcony overlooking the dining area and comfortable living room area with a solid fuel stove. There are two double rooms which can sleep four people.
The nearest pub and shop is Foxes of Tooman which has traditional Irish music every weekend and is only half a kilometre away. Mohill town is close by and both Carrick on Shannon and Longford town no more than 10 kilometers.
  • Perfect for 2 sharing couples with rooms at opposite ends and lovely centrally placed bathroom. Appreciated the provision of cereals, milk, eggs, etc. plus fire logs, even if we didn't get to use them.

Lovely bedroom with a telly and a cozy double bed. He let us use pretty much everything and we really enjoyed our stays :) would highly recommend!

Tranquil, rural setting between Multyfarnham and Bunbrosna just off the N4. Spacious, light filled family home. Every modern convenience yet retaining traditional homely feel. Near Wilson's Hospital School. 10 to 12 min to Mullingar General Hospital. 60 min to Dublin Airport. Und wir sprechen auch Deutsch! P.S. Part of our household is our affectionate dog Poldi, who mainly lives outside, but is allowed in the hall and the kitchen. If you throw her a stick, you will have a friend for life!
  • Anke is a wonderful host. She’s an amazing person inside out. I loved the two weeks I spent in her home. Her kindness and generosity as well as her thoughtfulness made my trip extra pleasant. Her house is very clean, warm and homely. She made me feel like I was at home and never for once did I feel like a guest. Anke has such a kind spirit. She went out of her way to supported me each and everyday I spent in her home, for which I am so grateful. Thank you for taking a chance on me ❤️ And for being the kindest person I’ve met in a long time. Looking forward to staying at your beautiful home again. ❤️

Experience the peace and tranquillity of Killashee: A rural valley village in county Longford.
Come bask in the aroma of Magan’s House olde worlde Pub. Be welcomed by the friendly face and traditional charm of seventh generation inn-keeper, Dan and his wife Louise.
Enjoy walking the adjacent Royal Canal by day and pull your own pint by night. Relax in a hammock in the garden and enjoy free parking in the courtyard.
  • Lovely stay in a beautiful, hospitable home with a few tasty pints downstairs too 👍

    Klaus2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Big charming room, with THE most comfortable king size bed. Traffic in the morning, so may not suit a lie-in for some. Lively in the bar below at the weekend until closing time. Lovely, kind family.

    Amanda2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • After about ten days of touring all over Ireland I found this gem in the countryside of County Longford. I was welcomed by Dan and Louise as a guest in their home. Attached to the home is a working pub and I got a chance to shoot a couple games of pool with Dan over a pint or two. Louise was cooking dinner and offered me to join for a small fee. Well she’s a really good cook and I had a hearty Irish dinner sitting with them at their table. The area is surrounded by cows and lambs and there are several villages very close by for amenities, restaurants, cafes and more pubs. I really enjoyed my stay in this home and the hospitality of Dan and Louise put it over the top. Just what I needed after three nights in Dublin!

    Matthew2019-10-04T00:00:00Z
  • Travelers can expect a warm welcome and a pleasant stay. The bedroom had plenty of room to sprawl out in and the host family is extremely nice and accommodating. You will feel at home. Such a nice family to visit with.

    Thaddeus2019-06-14T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing hospitality and kindness. Louise and her family went way above and beyond to help us out. We had a long day on the Royal Canal and were cold and footsore when we arrived. Louise literally put my feet up on a stool and she and her daughter Aione made us tea, sandwiches and goodies. Our room was beautiful with luxurious linens. Felt like a queen. Louise gave us a ride to the bus the next day and a tour of the town. Would wholeheartedly recommend this home to walkers, cyclists or anyone looking for a quiet homey place.

  • What an Air bnb is meant to be! Myself and my girlfriend stayed with Dan and Louise while we were exploring some of the midland counties. The whole set up is exactly what Air bnb is meant to be, a room in a family's house where you get to meet and chat with the owners. A fantastic experience, the whole family are absolutely lovely. Dan, Louise, their own children and their various relations are all so friendly and welcoming. The whole family were a great source of local knowledge and went out of their way to help us with anything we asked about. The room was warm and comfortable, the bed was amazing. The family's pub downstairs is great, a proper Irish country pub. A brilliant spot for a few drinks, great pints! There was a local taxi service that Dan gave us a number for that got us to another local village for food. Dan was a great source of info on the food options in the area. The taxi service was quick and readily available so getting around the local area to get food and see the sights was very convenient. The village itself is on the Royal Canal Way and would be great spot for stopping over as part of a walking holiday. I can honestly say that we didn't want to leave! We were even allowed to walk the family dogs along a part of the canal walk the next morning! We will definitely be bringing our friends over to Magans pub in the near future for a few drinks.

  • The Georgian house B n B in Kilashee is a really lovely place to stay if your travelling along the Greenway on the Royal Canal or exploring the Midlands and Ireland Ancient East. Our host offered us a really warm welcome with a cup of tea on arrival. Everything was done to make our stay comfortable. We were treated with the same hospitality by everyone in the household and yet there was no intrusion on our privacy. We gained an abundance of local knowledge about the vicinity. We were pointed in the direction of places to eat. The house is steeped in history and full of character. Our room was very spacious and beautifully decorated. We were set up with a lovely breakfast the following morning. I would highly recommend this accommodation.

    Helen2019-01-10T00:00:00Z
  • The Killashee Bed & Breakfast and Pub is the quintessential Irish Country Pub experience tourists are longing for. Do not miss an opportunity to stay here or just stop by the charming pub for an ale on your way through the countryside.

Dempsey's is a beautifully restored cottage in the countryside of Roscommon at the foot of Sliabh Bán. It lies a few miles from the market town of Strokestown and the picturesque Shannonside villages of Tarmonbarry and Laensboro. Lovely area for country walks, hiking, fishing cycling and boating. Just 90 minutes from Dublin it’s ideal for a quiet country getaway far from the madding crowd. There’s Fully equipped kitchen or lovely award winning restaurants and bars just a short drive away.
You get full run of this beautiful cottage which has three large bedrooms two bathrooms large open plan living room/kitchen with large conservatory attached (great for morning coffee). There’s also a utility room, two large hallways and walk-in wardrobes in two of the bedrooms. There’s a large half acre garden around the house and a great space out back for lounging about in or perhaps dining out.
The cottage is situated on a quiet country road surrounded by farm and bog land. It’s a the foot of Sliabh Bán the local mountain which is a great place for walks that will give you an overview of the locality. From up there you will see how close you are to the Shannon river which meanders through the area from Lanesboro to Tarmonbarry both charming villages with award winning restaurants and bars. Check out The Purple Onion and Keenan’s of Tarmonbarry. One of my favorite bars in the world is just 4.5 miles from the cottage, it’s called Beirne’s bar in Strokestown. Tell Bridie I said hello. The Royal canal ends its journey close to Tarmonbarry in a wee village called Clondra, definitely worth a visit and you can stroll along the canal for miles and miles. There’s a beautiful woodland walk in the grounds of Strokestown house which also houses the Irish Famine History Museum. Overall it’s a lovely safe area for walking, cycling, fishing and hiking.
  • What an absolutely magical place to stay! The first thing I send when I entered the cottage was, "This is so much better than the photos!" and it really is. The whole cottage is full of character, plenty of space to get comfortable, and just a really great place to unwind. We had a wonderful time telling stories by the fire and having a little jam on the old piano and a cajón. Catherine was great to communicate with and check-in was easy. Highly recommended and I really hope I can get back soon myself!

    Hannah2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • The Dempsey Cottage is a feast for the senses...raspberries growing outside the backdoor...antiques...modern conveniences...comfy beds and blankets...cows and sheep across the way...access to night sky and quiet walks. Our group of five were very comfortable!

  • It is a big house in countryside. Just under Hill of Uisneach. It is pity, that it was closed this part of the year. The host is nice young lady with small son. So prepare that there are toys everywhere. I think it is ideal for families. We missed the host in the morning, but she prepared breakfast (cereal with milk and tea) for us.

  • The apartment is great, the situation is unbeatable, the hosts are very friendly and their answers are very fast, the apartment has everything you need and much more, many details for breakfast and snacks, the comfortable bed and the perfect cleaning. All of 10. Totally recommended

  • My husband and I stayed for a month and this apartment was perfect. It is extremely well located and is within a 3 - 5 minute walk from the bus/train station, multiple supermarkets, specialty butchers, the weekly farmers' market, pharmacies, shops, the tourist information office, restaurants and pubs. Even though it is in town, it is very safe and quiet. It is comfortable, especially the large bed. The entry separates the living area from the bedroom so, with both the living room and bedroom doors closed, it provides an excellent buffer if one person wants to sleep and the other wants to watch the big screen TV. The wireless connection is excellent and reliable for both recreational as well as work use. There is a good number of excellent restaurants, including some of the best Indian cuisine in Ireland. Jerry and Dee are great hosts, and take pride in their building and the apartment. There are special touches such as wine and cheese upon your arrival and they are very responsive when contacted.

  • Ideal spot if you need to stay in Mohill, I stayed with my wife and child but would be great for a group. Very centrally located, spotlessly clean. Right beside the shops and check in and out was easy.

  • The accommodation location at AirBnB is not correct, but the owners come to look for you and accompany you to the accommodation. The reception by Mary is friendly. Very clean bedding, and comfortable bed. Very spacious room To give you an idea, it's a kind of shelter, attached to the main house. there are 2 rooms that are rented, bathrooms and shower are shared. There is also a kitchen, but it is not comfortable to use, since it only has a fridge and kettle. There is no bucket for trash, no sink, no microwave. So it only serves to take a tea with a cookie. It was our last night in Ireland, and it was very comfortable to have a lot of space to pack.

I would definitely recommend staying with Mary who was very helpful to us.

  • Michael's place is "home from home". It is spacious, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Michael met with us and gave us much information about the area. The huge shed was a bonus to store our bicycles and scooters in. You can walk to the restaurants, pubs and shop. We highly recommend Michael's place. Dromod is a lovely picturesque village.

  • This is a really cute house with loads of character! The house is sparkling clean and very well maintained; the photos don’t really do it justice. It is very spacious - we had more than enough space for a family of 4 and a nanny for 3 weeks. I would highly recommend Michael’s house and look forward to returning.

  • Michael and his home are amazing. We felt like we were in the middle of an Irish fairy tale. Michael welcomed us warmly and gave us the lay of the land. We spend a fantastic few days exploring. His home is immaculately clean and he even left us some tea, milk and welcoming snacks. It was a wonderful multi-generational vacation. We were lucky to all be together in such a beautiful space.

Welcome to your home in the country. There is lots of place outside for children to play on your private back lawn or the large central lawn. It's great base for visiting family in the area, making new friends and touring the Midlands of Ireland. It's an easy day trip to Dublin on the East or Sligo, Galway on the Atlantic west and come home to an open fire, your own home cooked meals and regroup for your next adventure. The Red Door Cottage has an extra twin bedroom and bathroom upstairs.
High speed internet Wheelchair Accessible ground floor
  • A really lovely well placed cottage. Everything you could possibly need from dishwasher to cups and bowls. The family are polite and responsive and the family home is cosy with open fires, central heating and electric fires too. Simply a little gem.

Mt Temple is a beautiful little well kept village with a bar, restaurant, shop, church, an impressive 18 hole golf course & a driving range. (We have golf sticks, in all sizes if needed) Our home is 10min walk to all of these. 5 mins drive away, there is a lovely 30min walk along the bog and through the woods where i bring my dogs everyday. Athlone is a picturesque town on the banks of the River Shannon .. Athlone castle is 900yrs old and has a wonderful position on the river in the centre of town. There is a great interactive museum which is definitly worth a visit, as is the free art Gallery. Luan Gallery opened up in 2013 overlooking the river and showcases some great Irish and local art. The charming left bank area has some great restaurant ( many of which we can recommend) and pubs with lots of live traditional Irish music and Ireland's oldest bar, Seans.
  • The place was great. As shown by the pictures, very clean and quiet.

  • Loved our stay here, amazing first time experience with an air bnb. Arrived late in the evening on a miserable, windy dark evening to a super cosy warm apartment. Even nicer than the photos. Had wished we booked it for the whole weekend instead of one night. We will be back. Thank you 😊

  • Our stay at Geraldine’s apartment was excellent. The apartment is spacious, clean and warm. We loved the electric fireplace. She left us some milk in the fridge and some sweet goodies on the counter. The directions to get to the apartment were specific and made it very easy. Geraldine was very responsive when we had questions. Loved having a car park behind the building. It was fairly easy to get in and out on the busy street. Within walking distance of the town, with several good restaurants nearby. Lidl was a short 10 min. walk down the road. Wish we could have stayed longer. Maybe next time.

This studio apartment right beside Lough Ree has everything you need in a small space. The bed is a small double, so two people can potentially sleep in it, but it's far more comfortable for one. There is a kitchen area with mini-fridge, mini-oven/hob, kettle and toaster. The bathroom is quite large, with an electric shower. The space is cosy, with heat provided via central heating, and there's a calor gas heater for extra heat. There's plenty of storage space for longer-term stays.
This is a peaceful retreat 4 miles from Athlone town, and right beside Lough Ree - the lake is literally at your doorstep. It's 2 miles from the Hodson Bay Hotel and Baysports.
  • Cosy apartment in a peaceful setting with awesome views over the lake. Good wifi.

    Tiffany2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • This charming cottage is the most well-designed and decorated place in which we've ever stayed. It's conveniently located, the hosts are fabulous, and we had everything we needed here. I'm only sorry we didn't plan to stay longer! Every linen, mirror, dish, painting, and coaster was clearly chosen with an artist's eye and deep care. It shows. This place is a total gem. Lee and Simona were wonderful hosts, very responsive, kind to us and our kids, and their family even told ours about a horse we could visit a block up the road, which our kids especially loved. Our whole stay was a warm, welcoming, wonderful experience!

  • What a place! Such an impressive building and lovely hosts; we arrived after our spa afternoon at aqua sana (10 min drive away) and got welcomed with a fantastic tour and great local tips, we went out for some nice food at the local pub and enjoyed a night cap back at Loretta’s honesty bar. The room was lovely and the breakfast so nicely done, one of our favourite stays

  • Our family go six stayed for one night while making our way across Ireland. The house was easy to find and it’s a beautiful period property. Our hosts were terrific, the stay was comfortable, and the breakfast was delicious! Highly recommended and we would love to be back!

    Paul And Becky2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Castlecor House was simply delightful! Loretta and her family greeted us so warmly and shared the most interesting details of their historic home. We felt very much at ease during our entire 3-day stay. Travel and the wintry weather made us a bit weary, so we especially appreciated some time retreating to the comfortable drawing room. The room is large, but felt very cozy. We were restored by the crackling fire, hot tea, hot whisky, and homemade mince pies. Many handmade holiday decorations created even more magic. The cooked breakfasts were very generous and included Loretta’s delicious homemade scones. Loretta very kindly packed up some scones and coffee for us for our early morning drive back to Dublin. I’m still thinking about them! It was really a joy to stay at Castlecor and a rare opportunity to see one of Ireland’s great old buildings being lovingly restored. We were happy to be part of the Castlecor story, if only for a few days. 🍀

    Jeanette2019-12-10T00:00:00Z
  • Such an absolute gem! We really loved our stay at Castlecor house. 6 of us stayed in the house and we were amazed by the warmth of the house and welcome we received. Loretta had a lovely fire and welcome drinks in the living room. The history of the house mesmosired us all. The rooms were very cosy and beds very comfortable. We really didnt want to leave, Loretta was a great host. Amazing breakfastselection. So happy to have found this gem of a house and host.

  • We loved our stay in Lorettas beautiful and special home. The Castelor is beautiful and so big. The room we stayed at was so clean and the decoration completely thought through.
