“A superb museum about 2 km outside Viareggio town. The museum is set back behind the large roundabout just outside the highway. A fantastic museum with many many exhibits from past Carnivals. If you catch the opening times during the Carnevale you may get a sneaky view of the amazing floats inside the hangers. Viareggio is famous in winter for its carnival which is a unique one with huge carts that have political satires as well as fun portrays of politicians and famous people from all over the world, but also smaller summer Carnevale is good.”
“The museum is built with the aim to enhance the exhibits related to the history of the navy Viareggio and Tuscany in general. It is divided into the following thematic sections: equipment on board, shipyards, seafarers, carpenters and shipwrights, Italian navy, navy and art, model making, palombaristica and underwater work, fishing, nautical instruments and sailing.”
“The typical restaurant La Cantina da Bruno, in via Italica 61 in Lido di Camaiore, is a real guarantee for those who want to taste traditional specialties of the Tuscan coast. The restaurant is located in one of the most picturesque areas of the town, not far from the seafront and the center, easily reachable by car and public transport. The restaurant, welcoming and elegant in style, includes spacious interiors and an outdoor veranda, ideal for enjoying excellent dishes during the summer. The menu of the typical restaurant La Cantina da Bruno includes many specialties based on meat and fresh fish, delicious appetizers and delicious homemade desserts.”
