“This is where you go to watch the ships come through the canal, and go to the free Marine Museum (recommended, and has public bathrooms). Canal Par is the main eclectic shopping and eating area in Duluth, with water of Lake Superior on one side, and the Bay on the other. A must see.”

“Amazing local brewery! We’ve known these owners for a long time and they even supplied the beer for our wedding before they became “Blackrocks Brewery”! You can bring food, order delivery or on the weekends grab something from one of the local food trucks. If you enjoy craft beer, you can’t miss this stop!”

American Restaurant

“The food is excellent, especially if you are a foodie. Great gourmet creations. You can eat cheaper at lunch. It’s a good idea to call ahead to make a reservation. The service doesn’t match the excellent food, but it’s worth it to try at least once. People travel far and wide to eat here. Make sure to try one of the desserts as they are lovely and tasty creations! Expect to spend $100 for two for dinner if you get appetizers, drinks & dessert. ”

“If you go over the lift bridge in Duluth, you can drive down the "Malibou of the Midwest" to the end of Lake Ave to a beautiful park that has a beach and beach house, picnic areas, sand volleyball courts and a hiking trail along Lake Superior along the backside of the little airport just past the end of the park. Fun in the summertime!”

Historic Site
“Stop in at the mine to visit their well stocked gift shop and to book a tour into the mine. It is worth setting aside a couple hours to experience the life of the miners who settled in this area. Some of the hardships they faced are difficult to imagine in this age of advanced technology.”

“This limited seating restaurant requires advanced reservations if you want to be sure to get in. Located directly on the shore of Lake Superior you will be treated to a delightful sunset most days. Our recommendation for food is the brisket or fillet if it is available, but skip the cheesecake - not worth the calories in our opinion.”

“Doncker's has so much goodness, it's hard to know where to begin. They have homemade candy, ice cream, gifts and souvenirs, a restaurant with delicious food and the atmosphere is dreamy.”
