Please pick up the key at Canyon Market by 9:00pm. Carl Coolidge, the owner of the market, is also our property manager. He will be glad to help you with any questions. The market phone no. is (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN). Check in time is 4:00 and checkout time is 11:00. Pick up the key before 9:00pm. There is a vacation rental house on the property about 140 ft. from the cabin. The cabin has a patio and a deck facing away from the house.
A beautiful new cabin finished in three varieties of wood including a Douglas Fir beamed ceiling. You will love the view of the river, especially from the cozy loft. The loft has 2 queen sized beds and there is a queen sized Murphy bed downstairs. It has all new stainless steel appliances including washer and dryer. It has cable TV, WiFi, and phone. The Klickitat River is a premier steelhead and salmon fishery. All season activities abound - White water rafting, kayaking, snow shoeing, cross-country skiing, horseback riding, hiking, hunting, fishing, blackberry picking on old logging road across the highway, and bird watching (bald eagles, bluejays, wild turkeys). The small town of Klickitat with friendly people is not more than a mile away. It has groceries, a restaurant, fast food, gas and other services. The Klickitat Trail runs for miles from Lyle and way past the cabin. There is a great bald eagle viewing area near Lyle on this trail, as well as beautiful views of the river, new fish ladder, and canyon. Lyle is 13 miles from the cabin and Hood River is about an additional 13 miles. The scenic Columbia Gorge is known for it's kite surfing and paragliding. Salmon, sturgeon and other fish are abundant in the Columbia River.
We have a friendly community. Our property manager owns the Canyon Market and is very helpful. He will answer any questions that you might have. His phone number is (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN).
  • Such a cozy little cabin! We were looking for a nice and relaxing getaway from the city when we stumbled across this gem of a cabin. It’s nestled right on the river, which was absolutely lovely! The sound of the river was so relaxing mixed with the view from the living area. It has all the amenities you could ask for, even a washer and dryer for extended stays! The best part for us was that this is a pet friendly place, which is always a necessity for us, but also hard to find. Our pup is part of our family and loves to go on adventures as much as we do. We definitely plan on staying here again!

  • Great little cabin with everything you’d need. I was beyond happy with our experience and will likely go back!

  • This stay was absolutely amazing. Chris and I booked this house just looking for a get away for our first Christmas together and it far exceeded all expectations. We even met the property manager Carl at the store and he was so kind and friendly and gave us good tips for fishing when we return. This cabin the the perfect cozy stay and the beds were so comfortable as well as the couches and an amazing wood stove and well working thermostats. We will certainly be returning. What an amazing stay. And absolutely beautiful scenery! Thank you!

  • This is our 2nd stay in the this amazingly located remote cabin. Our dog loves the area and so do we. At least 30 min from White Salmon, Bingen or Hood River, which we really like. Super quiet and private. Beds are comfy. The view is spectacular. Firewood provided. Water from the faucet smells like sulfur but they provide filtered water from the fridge. We really enjoy the tranquility of the river and canyon.

  • An absolutely fabulous place to spend a few days relaxing on the banks of the Klickitat river!! A very quiet area with an amazing view out of the south-facing window.... love the cabin!!!!

    Harry2019-11-16T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing views in the canyon along the beautiful stream, prime for fishing. Perfect house for a get away for 2 plus dog... Anymore and it'll be snug. Water is probably well water so very egg smelling.

    Andy2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Emilee's place was right on the river and we saw people fishing right outside. We even saw someone bring in a huge salmon! Check-in was easy and Carl was very helpful and supplied us with firewood and charcoal for the BBQ.

This is where we go to get sun and adventure for the weekend and have decided to share it with you when we're not using it. We live a couple hours away in Portland, so guests are expected to be fairly independent. 13 miles up HWY 142 from Lyle, WA, it is a beautiful scenic drive. This pretty apartment is 500 sq. ft. and has everything you need. In the bedroom there is a queen and a twin bed both are comfortable. There is also a desk in case you need to check your email. Protected from the Gorge Winds, this excellent central location has close access to Goldendale Observatory, although the starry skies of Klickitat are great to enjoy. Wine tasting rooms in the Gorge, The Dalles, Maryhill, and Goldendale are a 20 minute drive, Bingen, White Salmon and Hood River are a 25-30 minute drive. Klickitat is a very small town of only 400 people which used to be a Company Mill Town. It has struggled to recover economically after the mill closed and still has some shabby looking homes. Klickitat River is one of the best Steelhead Fishing rivers in the world. It's also great for Salmon fishing, kayaking and white water rafting. Hike the Klickitat Trail, Coyote Wall, Katherine Creek or even Mt. Adams or other scenic areas close by. Walk to the Klickitat River's sandy beach and stop at the general store for a coffee before heading to the Bar and Grill for an excellent burger or steak. Explore the local museum and Klickitat Springs area if you are a history buff. Bring your fishing poles, bike, kayak, hiking boots, and kite board. The 30 mile Klickitat Trail is just outside your door. Outdoor adventure abounds in Klickitat!
Klickitat is a small town of less than 400 residents in a fairly remote area. This is a working class neighborhood has some poor single family homes. Klickitat is named after the Klickitat tribe of Native Americans which is now part of the Yakima Indian Reservation. There are many local Klickitat and Yakima natives in town. Klickitat is a "company town". Most of the housing was built by the mill company to house the employees. The employees were able to live in their homes for free and also were paid a wage. They shopped at the company store. This apartment building on Teachers Alley was built in 1952 by the mill company to house the Teachers the school. After the Mill closed in 1994, Klickitat has struggled to get back on its feet. This residential neighborhood is like the rest of Klickitat, it has all kinds of local folks...some retired, some work in the fruit industry, some are fishing guides and run river shuttles, some are on disability, many have to drive to work in the neighboring communities of The Dalles, White Salmon and Hood River or even Portland.
  • Cute and private spot. It’s within walking distance of a small store and a restaurant that opens at 5. Everything was well labeled and easy to find, directions were very clear, Leslie checked in to make sure everything was going well. Would definitely recommend!

    Kailey2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect for a quiet holiday stay. Just bring your eats and you’re going to be very pleased. Hope to stay again when I’m in the Dalles/Klickitat area.

  • Would definitely recommend if visiting the area. Very clean and comfortable.

  • Leslie's place was just like it was advertised in the town of Klickitat Washington lots to do for the outdoors enthuse. Just wanted to let future travelers know that the Sand Bar in Lyle had great service and awesome food. Canyon market that is in walking distance has amazing take and bake pizza. Thanks for the great time Leslie.

    Troy2019-10-05T00:00:00Z
  • Incredible value! Leslie has everything you need and more! Quiet place and with market right down the street for essentials. Definitely would recommend!

  • Great value, in the heart of Klickitat with thoughtful amenities.

    Bruce2019-08-15T00:00:00Z
  • Leslie’s place was a wonderful get away. It was immaculate as described. Despite it being in a multi-family complex, it was surprisingly quiet. Something I needed and enjoyed. I was pleasantly surprised at how well stocked the kitchen was. I had brought some things from home that are usually not stocked and didn’t need them. Thank you!

Nestled in the pristine nature of Swale Canyon our a-frame offers a tranquil getaway. Whether you need some quiet time to reflect, write and ponder nature's beauty or you need a place to lay your head after an active day on the Klickitat River or hiking the Klickitat Trail or hunting in the wilderness, our cabin awaits you. No other buildings or residences in sight, you will have true privacy to relax and unwind.
Our a-frame cottage is a work of love that we hope you will enjoy. Many hands have worked on this project. Practically all of the materials have been reclaimed. The entire cottage is fed by a year-round artesian spring. Power is provided by solar. You can lounge by the creek or hike the two miles of private trails here or the hundreds of acres of public land abutting our property or cross the creek and find yourself on the many miles of the Klickitat Trail. The primary residence is located nearly a 1/4 mile from your lodging. We are available if you walk up the hill or by walkie-talkie (no phone coverage here!).
  • I went with four of my friends for a weekend for my birthday, and we had an amazing time. The cabin was clean and stayed warm even when it dropped below freezing outside, and the view was gorgeous- there’s a stream right by the patio that I loved to sit by in the morning. Nitushi (the farm dog) is very sweet and came down to visit. It might seem a little intimidating to be so off grid- no wifi, one outlet, a compost toilet- but Scott was very helpful in explaining how to work everything, and responded quickly on the walkie talkie if we had any issues

    Marie2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect and unique.

    Hannah2019-10-21T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful and serene spot off the grid! Carrie and Scott were incredibly accommodating and friendly. The solar-powered cabin was comfortable and well-equipped. I liked the composting toilet idea, it worked very well. Scott had good suggestions for places to explore, which we enjoyed in the company of their sweet dog Nitoshi. She was the cherry on top. Highly recommended!

    Danny2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • A great experience to get away from the business and stress of life and be able to relax in such a beautifuk, secluded area. Pretty hikes, fun exploring the surrounding areas, and a very cute and cozy cabin can be expected!

    Max2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Carrie and Scott's cabin was everything we could want and more. They went above and beyond to assure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. I would visit again in a heartbeat. We spent our days relaxing and wish we had more time to hike around. We appreciated the barbeque outside, it was fun to sit out and listen to the crickets while we cooked our dinner. The bed at night was comfortable and we loved being able to listen to the creek while we fell asleep. The area is beautiful and we had no issues at all getting to the cabin.

    Brindy2019-09-03T00:00:00Z
  • This is a fantastic out of the way cabin that is deep in a canyon providing both the convenience of nice accommodations but also very secluded. A rare find. I especially enjoyed the little creek out front and the access to the hiking trails.

    John2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • A unique experience for us and the grandkids.

    Ron2019-08-22T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful to go to sleep to the sound of crickets, frogs and a bubbling creek. Hosts extended themselves, to see to it we had a good time.

    Jared2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place. Rite on the river

    Casey2019-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • The room and bathroom were very clean and well supplied. The grounds were neat with plenty of areas for guests to relax and enjoy the views. There are two BBQ's, 1 charcoal and 1 propane if you wish to cook. Linda was always friendly and offered help whenever it was asked for. The steaks at the local bar and grill are good as advertised. Every person that I talked to in town was friendly and helpful. I would recommend this place to others that are looking for a quiet getaway.

    Perry2019-08-18T00:00:00Z
  • What a special place. The setting song the river is absolutely magical. We loved sitting with our feet in the sand, watching the kids cliff jump across the river. The accommodations were inviting and comfortable. There was fresh cold water in the fridge and the a/c was on! It’s a shame about the fire ban because an evening fire would have capped out the whole experience! The neighbors (off property) had a fire going and were quite loud into the evening but it was a weekend night and was somewhat expected with it being summer time. We would absolutely come back!

    Jana2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • We sat on the deck over the river and enjoyed the water sounds, and saw several shooting stars. Great location!

  • I don't even know where to start. This beautiful cabin is set by itself in the arm of a bend in the Klickitat River. The sunlight streams in during the day, and no lights intrude at night, making an incomparable star scene, as viewed from the rooftop deck. It's cozy and warm, with a woodstove to keep you company on a chilly night.
Welcome to the beautiful Klickitat River valley, in the heart of canyon country. Nestled between several facets of the Klickitat River's winding walls, you'll feel safe n' snug while away on the river; the mighty gorge winds barely nudge us up here (most days!) We are situated just four miles from highway 14 in Lyle (off easily navigable highway 142), so although there's a bit of an "away from it all" feel while here, you're close to the Columbia River gorge for all manner of activities, as well as a launching pad for Mt. Adams up north, and Mt. Hood down south. Hood River, White Salmon, Bingen, the Dalles..all within a twenty minute drive in whatever direction you choose. Hiking, sailing, kite-boarding and windsurfing, mountain climbing and cycling, fly fishing and kayaking, all these activities and many more abound in the area, and we are just beyond the fabled "rain shadow", so your assurance of sunny weather is more predictable than west of the Cascades (we receive around half the rainfall of Portland). It can get quite warm in late summer in the east gorge, yet this little corner of the river bend is shady and cool. This lovely, freestanding cabin is 384 square feet, fully self-contained, and is very comfortable for either a weekend stay or longer (it is behind the dwelling the landlord resides in). There is a rooftop deck, with overhead lights and a gas grill for your pleasure. It's an informal setting around here, with plenty of space outside to stow fishing poles, windsurfing gear, etc. New queen-size bed (with memory-foam topper), gas oven and stove, window coverings (blinds), well-water pump outside, lots of parking on gravel drive, and a newly-installed air conditioning unit are the general amenities here at the cabin. There are modern conveniences like: microwave oven/coffee machine/television etc, so it's more than a rustic getaway, and the wood stove will heat the space efficiently, and in quick order.
This is a safe, private community of just a few homes. We pride ourselves on having a neighborhood feel in the midst of the Klickitat River canyon.
  • Excellent, friendly communication. Easy to find. Very clean. Great wood burning stove. Wifi worked well. Loved the farm fresh eggs, and proximity to the Klickitat river trail. Great if you are looking for a little place close to natural attractions. Just be aware that the main house is less than 50 feet away and obscures most of the airbnb view.

    Tasha2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place, totally worth every penny.

    Antonea2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • Roberta and Erik were great hosts. Quick to respond and helpful. The ADU rental space is as advertised and is a perfect launching point for local outdoorsy activities or for laying low and relaxing. Also, Autumn is an amazing time of year to be in this predominantly Oak forest. We hope to be back!

    Michael2019-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • Great cabin in the woods vibe. Wood stove is amazing and toasty! Love the floor layout too. I would definitely stay there again.

    Jacqueline2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • I will be coming back, beautiful location and felt like home!

    Gunes2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • What a perfect place for a peaceful getaway! The cabin is set in a beautiful spot above the gorgeous Klickitat River, with tons of phenomenal hiking nearby. The house itself is so clean, open, and cozy. We loved cooking and eating by the woodstove. The roof deck looked fantastic - we hope to return in warmer months to take advantage of that space too. Eric was a fantastic host, inviting and generous. Thanks so much!

    Noel2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect for a single person or couple’s getaway! We loved the location and being so close to many amazing Fall hikes and outdoorsy things to do. Farm fresh eggs were a treat (thank you, Eric!) and we appreciated all the hiking and local info our hosts provided. The cabin is comfortable and has all the things you really need. The rooftop seating area is delightful (maybe just clean off the chairs?) and listening to the river while sitting there, sipping wine, was a favorite pastime for us :)

    Hillary2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • This little cabin has everything you need for a relaxing and restful escape. Fall asleep to the soothing sounds of the river and wake up with a cup of coffee on the deck. A great home base for exploring nearby hiking trails and wineries, as well as a cozy place to read a pile of books. We’ll be back!

Our cabin offers a living room with a sofa bed, a bedroom with a queen size and a toddler crib and a bath with shower. Our fully equipped kitchen is perfect for self-providers. Since the closest restaurant is 20-30 minutes away and a good grocery store about 40 minutes, we would recommend bringing what you need. We have some spices, oil and vinegar etc. for you to use. We live on the same 20 acre large lot with our dogs Dexter,Sierra, Sophie and a couple mice catchers.

Enjoy the campfire with plenty of wood and have lunch at the picnic tables or on the large deck looking out at the beautiful canyon wall and Klickitat River. There is a RV site and a large dog kennel with a doghouse for your pets. Please no smoking inside. Thank you. We are only 13 miles from the Columbia River and 12 more miles to Hood River. Groceries and gas are within walking distance.
We love the canyon, the beautiful river, the wildlife and the green canyon wall. There is an old lumber mill road directly across and above our place. It is wide and is mostly paved; great for walking or biking.
  • Nice location! We loved the horseshoe pit! Beautiful river to look at and relax before we cooked dinner. The house had everything we needed to cook a whole meal 😁 we had a wonderful experience!

  • Great location for family fun and time away from the city!

    LeKisha2019-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • This house is a great, cozy place to stay on the Klickitat River. We host veterans multiple times per year for events and we always cross our fingers that this rental is available. We always get good feedback on this rental from the people we host here. Thank you!

  • Emilee’s place was very quaint and quiet. The location right on the water is extremely enjoyable. Highly recommend staying here if your in the area.

    Frank2018-09-16T00:00:00Z
  • This is a clean, comfortable house in a beautiful location right on the Klickitat River. There is a second smaller rental cottage next to it on the same property, but we didn't find that to be distracting, since the people were quiet. You can fish right from the yard, which is great! One downside was that there seems to be a tendency to double book this property. I noticed that the host cancelled a number of bookings periodically, and in one comment it said they were double booked. So we were contacted a couple of days before our booking date, and asked if we could change our dates. We couldn't so they worked it out with the other people. However communication concerning this change was slow or even not forthcoming at times. I had to finally call to get the final answer. It was difficult to not know if we were booked at the last minute, when plans had been made. I had also originally asked 2 questions that were not answered either. So lack of communication was the one difficuty. Once we got past that, everything went smoothly at check in, and our stay was excellent.

  • Great cabin on the river in a very small, very rural town with one market and a post office more or less. It's a nice remote getaway.

    Aran2018-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • We went fly-fishing the Klickitat for 2 days and we stayed at Emilee’s rental house for one night. The house was very clean, well furnished, all appliances worked perfectly and it was by the Klickitat River. I highly recommend this place.

    Samih2017-10-22T00:00:00Z
  • My biggest regret about booking this place was that we only booked one night. The house was amazingly clean, and very, very well stocked. This is good because Klickitat is a pretty small town, and the only restaurant is 21+. So we were able to grab a take and bake pizza from the Canyon Market, and everything we needed to cook, cut, and serve was easy to find and working. The house has central A/C which means that even if you are here in August, you can keep cool. The river is SO GORGEOUS. We plopped ourselves in some chairs on the riverbank and lost track of time. Late at night, the night sky was so dark we could see the Milky Way. The drive from the Gorge to Klickitat is beautiful, the town was friendly, and the house was lovely. Now I need to put together a plan to make this a destination versus a stop along the way so I can spend some days hiking and stargazing. Getting the keys was a snap. The check-in directions were spot on, and the info inside the house was placed right where you'd expect to find it. The beds were very comfortable, with a whole lotta pillows to choose from. The bathroom had lots of towels and plentiful hot water. My kids slept like logs, and so did I.

Twin Oaks is an updated doublewide home perched on a basalt knoll with 11 beautiful acres overlooking vineyards and the Columbia River. Views include river and gorge to the west and north. In springtime see waterfalls on the Washington cliffs. Located 8 miles east of Hood River, Twin Oaks is near Mosier on scenic Hwy 30. This is in the heart of the Columbia River Gorge, with nearby hiking, biking, watersports, boat ramp, & ski areas. Enjoy the numerous wineries and local microbrews in the area.
Twin Oaks house is 1800 square feet, one-level, 3 bedroom, 2 bath. This is an 80's doublewide; but don't worry, shag carpet is gone and the wallpaper is painted over. We are gradually updating and improving it, and it's a very clean and comfortable space now. Let's call it an artsy cabin ambiance with touch of Ikea.
The setting is oak and pine prairie and meadow with basalt outcroppings. The landscape is natural, and we regularly see deer, turkey, coyote, redtail hawk, osprey vulture, bald eagle, and golden eagle. The bird feeders attract red and yellow finch, nuthatch, towhee, chickadee, western bluebird, redwing blackbird, western tanager, sparrow, and junco. Enjoy wildflowers April-May. Two nearby hikes provide more opportunities to connect to nature. Two wineries with tasting rooms are within walking distance.
  • This is an older, modest manufactured home on what might be one of the best properties in the gorge (certainly that I've ever been on). The views and property itself are breathtaking. We found it to be a very functional home, probably the most functional that I've ever stayed in. I found the value to be very high and would certainly recommend it to anyone who enjoys taking in the scenery of the gorge.

  • This place is awesome! The price is fantastic compared to other places in the area. It was perfect for a small family gathering, including with small kiddos and a dog. The house isn’t fancy but had everything we needed, and the property and the view were outstanding. We will definitely stay here again!

    Kiel & Hazel2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great views of the Columbia River and a decent sized lot if you wanted to run around, although it is on a hill. Good value, with cool furniture. The house itself is older and could use some work getting baseboards in and fixing some unfinished parts of the house. With that said, it is a good house for an event, or get-together for adults.

  • Loved everything about this place. My husband and I wanted a place to unwind but that wasn’t too far away from nice bars and restaurants, if we decided to go out one night - and this house was that perfect place. We made a fire one night, were able to bring our puppy with us and the house had everything you need for a great stay. Mike and Laura were very quick to get back to me and gave us good tips for places and wineries to go to. Will be staying here again.

    Karla2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • The view was spectacular and the home was cozy. We played board games (so many to choose from!) in the evening and explored and hiked during the day. This was the perfect short getaway for us. The hosts were friendly and quick to respond to our messages and gave suggestions for places to visit while we were there. The beds were comfy, the kitchen had everything we needed, and the living room made us wanna stay so much longer with views during the day and a great stereo and games or puzzles at night. I would definitely recommend staying here for the hospitality, views and cozy space.

  • We had such a relaxing time in this home! First, it was a snowy weekend and the owners had shoveled the driveway and salted the steps before we arrived, PLUS they left those tools on-hand so that we could help ourselves should we need them during the weekend. The home offered a stunning view of the gorge both east and west. The furnishings were very comfortable, modern and very nicely decorated and we would love to use the outside amenities in the warmer months. There was prompt communication from the owners and we really felt this was a perfect place to stay. We will be coming here again and again!

This little house started life as a woodworking shop. When we outgrew it, we made it into a guest house. It may be imperfect, but it's perfectly adorable. We have a peek of Mt. Hood from the yard and lovely territorial views. At night, you can enjoy the beauty of a Milky Way sky far from city light pollution. Come. Enjoy. Relax. NOTE: I sometimes make exceptions to "No Pets" with conditions. Please ask before booking. No smoking in the house. More important details the "The space" section.
LOCATION Situated on five acres near the main house, in a quiet rural neighborhood, this bright, cheery space is about 10 minutes, (5.5 miles) from White Salmon's charming pubs, restaurants, shops, and grocery. Hood River is about 20 minutes (10 miles) away - just a short hop across the Hood River toll bridge ($2). It's a restful country retreat or a practical home-base for your Gorge adventures or business travel. It's a quiet spot great for relaxing and as a home-base for Gorge adventures, but if you want to be in the thick of things, it's probably not the best choice. LAYOUT The house consists of two large rooms with a connecting open doorway. One side includes the living and dining areas, and kitchen with refrigerator, microwave, and electric oven and stove. The second side contains the sleeping area, bathroom, and closet/laundry. The sleeping area has a queen bed, small dresser, bedside stand, and curtain which allows for bedroom privacy while maintaining bathroom access for all. There is no door on the bedroom which may not be ideal for those with infants, small children, or snoring issues. The floors are laminate, ceramic, and vinyl composite tile. Please note: We have light-filtering curtains on all of the windows. If you require a dark bedroom during daylight hours, you may be happier with a different place to stay. BEDS Although the space is ideal for 2 people sharing the queen-size bed. A second queen-size bed or two single cot frames with mattresses will be set-up in the dining area upon request. Extra beds are stowed by default. For infants, we have a Pack 'n Play with a full-size removable bassinet. Please let us know your needs before arriving so we can have everything in place for you. (Please also see the layout notes.) NATURE You may hear coyotes at night or doves cooing in the trees. Nature is all around us. If the sight of a daddy-long-legs fills you with fright, best not stay here. PLEASE ASK US! If you want something specific, please ask. We'll do our best to accommodate. We want you to have a stress-free stay. If you arrive and realize that you forgot to make a request, whether for bed set-up, an additional guest, or any other detail, don't hesitate to let us know. Give us an opportunity to be helpful. We like doing that!
HERE This is a rural property with a gravel driveway. No manicured lawns here. We are in an area of 5 to 20-acre forested and grassland lots. It's usually very quiet, but once in a while, you can hear children playing or the occasional radio when someone is entertaining themselves outside. THERE A lot of folks bike our county roads, though many of the local roads don't have much of a shoulder. There are several area trails for hiking, biking, and horseback riding. WE CARE We hope you choose to stay here because you enjoy being out in the countryside away from the hustle and bustle of town. We want you to enjoy the location as much as we do. If you're unsure about distance or driving time to a specific place or event, ask us. We'll gladly provide information.
  • Katie is an AMAZING host. You feel like home and well cared for. The little house on the hill is very clean and she has thought of everything in regards to things you may need during your stay. Cute little getaway, and not far at all from things like hood river etc. Plus you get to enjoy the country as well as the gorgeous stars at night! Well priced and such a great host!

    Michelle2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing space!! Katie was quick with information and The Little House had everything I needed! Please take their note about the location being outside of White Salmon serious! My friend’s wedding weekend was in Hood River and it was a solid 30 minutes due to the winding roads...BUT....it was worth it to see the beautiful scenery and all of the deer each morning. :)

    Nicole2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Katie's space was terrific. Clean, spacious, useful, and with great views, too. Everything was seamless and her attention to detail made for a great stay.

  • Katie’s place was lovely, great spacey rooms, washer and dryer that was so helpful after being on the road for over a week! Katie was a lovely lady, very hospitable. The views were lovely and the night sky was fantastic for an amateur stargazer! Downtown Hood River is a must see with plenty of shops and individual boutiques. It’s a very arty town with Iots of galleries!

  • Thanks so much for a wonderful stay! It was so nice to have so much space in our own building. The kitchen was very well equipped, though we didn't use it except for the wine opener. Beautiful location and an easy place to stay!

    Mackenzie2019-09-02T00:00:00Z
  • After leaving this place, drive east and down to river, you will find a stunning view of Gorge!

  • My wife and I booked 5 nights and loved it. This is a great getaway to escape and enjoy the rural community. It's about 10 minutes from down town White Salmon and and a little longer to down town Hood River. We enjoyed the place and easily visited town each day. For coffee lovers like us she had a very nice selection and a good coffee maker. The place was very clean and everything was well marked and labeled for us. She also had Netflix and Amazon prime which is a step up from a hotel. Katie was a great host and responded to any request we had very soon.

    Meredith2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Really cute place! The yurt could not have been more cozy and quaint! Shelley went out of her way to make us feel welcomed and our anniversary special! The public lands that surround this place are incredible! We went on a 6 mile hike without seeing a soul! The bathroom was SUPER cool but worth mentioning that it is a 50 ft. walk from the house. Not at all a deal breaker for us though! We will definitely be back!

  • Truly a gem! If you're looking to escape the hustle and bustle of the city then don't hesitate to book a spot in Yurt Haven. Shelley is awesome and was right there when we had slight issues with the propane. Can't wait to come back once I brush up on my Pac Man skills!

    William2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • DO NOT EVEN HESITATE, just book this place. My boyfriend and our two doggos stayed here for New Years Eve and it exceeded my expectations! This place has everything you need and more. The Pac-Man machine was so cool, theres a full kitchen, and the goats were so cute! The heater inside kept the place nice and toasty. The dogs had an amazing time running around. The fireplace outside was such a great touch. I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thanks for the special memories!

While Airbnb might consider this a neighborhood, the neighbors are far away!! There is another rental on the property "Tree House Tranquil-A-Tree" which guests will pass enroute to the tree house. Other than that, it's you and nature -- How much better could it be than that??!!

    Francisco2020-02-02T00:00:00Z
  • This place is incredible for a few days of off-grid quiet. A bit pricy for 1-2 people for what you get but very fun and unique. You can tell the owners put a lot of care and thought into the place. Highly recommended!!

  • Rebecca was easy to communicate with and the property caretaker, Mark, was more than helpful with whatever we needed. The yurt was charming and remote, so prepare yourself for being out there. Nice to unplug. Our pup had a blast running in the meadows with the other pups on the property.

  • What a piece of heaven! We will absolutely be back. The kitchen is one of the best equipped of any vacation rental I’ve stayed in. The fire provides the perfect ambiance. Hot tub is amazingly warm and great for tall folks! Secluded, quiet, and relaxing — just as advertised.

    Sara2019-12-23T00:00:00Z
  • This was the 2nd time that we came back to stay here. We love being able to get away and completely unplug and enjoy the surrounding beauty. Mark is responsive, helpful and amazing!! We also loved having his dogs drop by for an occasional visit as well. See you next year Mark!

View of columbia river gorge from living area, kitchen and bathroom. Open with high ceilings and eclectic collection of furniture and art. On curb of historic highway 30. Hood River is 6 miles by bike on carfree bike route.
    Like new kitchen with wood floors, stone counter, and modern bathroom. Heated pool with separate spa tub, small gym with a basic setup for a workout. Close to kayaking, windsurfing, mountain and street biking, kite surfing, hiking, and summer and winter activities. (Pool is quite cold after Oct 1, but the spa and gym are still open}
Mosier is a small orchard town with a couple of places to eat and drink. Rack and Cloth makes hard cider and offers tasty light foods and some local produce. There is also a local bar nearby. A convenience store offers basics. Hood river is a few minutes by car.
  • Lanny and Susana’s place has an incredible view of the Columbia River and the Washington side. Breathtaking. As mentioned in other reviews, there is a highway and train activity. However, it did not deter our enjoyment and was not noisy. Would definitely stay here again and highly recommend.

    Stephanie2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • It was very clean and the view is wonderful. You must remember that most views of the Columbia often come with some highway noise and train noise. The apartment was quiet considering. The stereo was a great touch and it was nice to not have a TV compete with the view in the main living area. We had a great time and the apartment is beautiful.

    Beija2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Loved it. Food at MoCo was incredible and the view was great. Unit was surprisingly quiet even though it was right on train line. Would stay again!

  • We had a lovely stay at this spectacular, super clean & stylish condo. The views are absolutely stunning. Kitchen is well supplied. Lanny & Susana provided all the components and information for a smooth, relaxing, hassle-free stay.

The Bath House is a SAFE HAVEN, and will be completely disinfected, from top to bottom. After each guest, we will block the next day, giving you a retreat in the woods that has not had a person there for at least 36 hours!!! " The Bathhouse is NOT a yurt, but a themed tiny house. This is by FAR the most desirable location on the property. The view of Mt. Adams is right out the front door. This tiny house has an outdoor shower and 2 baths. Take a soak, and enjoy the incredible Mountain View.
CHOOSE YOUR ADVENTURE: * Family Getaway - Very quiet outdoor experience, with a lot of things for the family to do.... Butted up right next to miles of wilderness..While the Bathhouse itself is in a beautiful wooded setting, town is only 20 minutes away for antique shopping, dining, etc. * Hunting - Everyone knows this is one of the best hunting units in Washington. (deer, bear, turkeys, elk.) No more setting up camp and freezing, just bring your clothes, food, buddies, and basic gear. (GUIDED HUNTS are available upon request. We have stands that are meticulously maintained and baited with recent pictures to share at all times.) * Awesome Extras - *** Electric Mountain Bikes available upon request at an additional price. If you've never experienced, I promise a smile will be left on your face. Use just for pure pleasure, or to HUNT the thousands of acres this property borders. ***Kayaks are also available upon request at no additional cost, There are 2 good bass lakes in close proximity or just for fun for the whole family.
  • Christopher and Shelley’s beautiful property is glamping at its finest: plenty of cozy touches and comforts of home while still celebrating what’s best about getting out into the woods. My partner and I came for our fifth anniversary and enjoyed stunning views of Mt. Adams, watched a group of deer wander right through the site, and befriended their adorable pups, Chevy and Muchacha. The soaking tubs were amazing — I watched a shooting star overhead while soaking in toasty water on an otherwise freezing night. Definitely try the mountain bikes. They are a blast. Christopher and Shelley were accessible at all times and went out of their way to make us comfortable. Thank you so much for a wonderful time and we’ll be back to visit soon.

    Kaitlin2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time here. Christopher and Shelley are extremely friendly and so are their dogs! It was very comfortable and among the most interesting interiors that I have seen.

    Tarunay2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • I stayed in the converted horse trailer. Fun and funky! Other guests have given good, detailed descriptions of the space/property so I won’t go into details. Cozy and rustic and comfortable. I’m inspired to try a horse trailer conversion myself some day. The view of Mt Adams is great and there are loads of trails accessible right from the property. Taking out one of the electric bikes was a hoot and a great way to get out and explore. Enjoyed a soak in the outdoor bathtubs. Very relaxing. I enjoy unique spaces and going the ‘glamping’ route whenever I get the chance and this was just perfect. My dog loved being there and exploring the trails with me. Chris and Shelly were amazing hosts. So generous and helpful. I would stay here again.

    Kristen2019-11-12T00:00:00Z
  • My girlfriend and our three-year-old visited in November for three nights. It felt a bit like luxury camping. Chris and Shelly’s refurbished horse trailer is a unique space with a view of Mount Adams and good access to hiking. The trailer is compact and cozy with a gas stove, a sink and running water, a space heater, a small fridge, and a comfortable large bed that you climb up to where there is a fireplace, a TV and a DVD player. Adjacent to this main area is a small unheated room accessed by a separate door. It has a couch, but we used it mostly for storing supplies. The area outside the trailer is covered with a picnic table and chairs and a gas fire pit. There is ambient lighting that felt welcoming. The bathhouse has a compostable toilet with an access door to a shower that has a wood stove that can act as a sauna. You have to heat the water with propane for the shower and you have to fill the baths and heat them with propane, which takes about an hour to prepare. Shelly prepared the water before we used it the first time, which was helpful. If you want a unique space and don’t mind roughing it a bit, this is a good space. We had a great time and would visit again.

    Ryan2019-11-11T00:00:00Z
  • Shelly and Chris are two of the nicest people we have met through Air BNB. Their hospitality went above and beyond what we had expected during our stay. The property is beautiful, the animals they have on property are amazing, and while staying, you are truly at the footsteps of the wild outdoors. We hopped on the electric bikes, which, you HAVE to try, and within minutes, we were gazing upon beautiful grassy fields and large canyon overlooks. My girlfriend and I came up for a quick one night getaway and stumbled upon a little slice of nature that we will for sure be coming back to. Shelly and Chris are some of the most humble people you will ever meet and if you can, book at night or two at Yurt Haven and get lost for a few days.

    James2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • The hosts were very helpful, the view was amazing, and the tubs were very relaxing. Will definitely be coming back!

    Evan2019-11-03T00:00:00Z
  • Highly recommend this place. My husband and I had such a nice experience at the chuck wagon. The goats are so friendly and we really enjoyed feeding them. The camper is cozy and more spacious then you would think. The outdoor area outside the wagon is a nice touch for family gatherings. The shower lasts longer then you would think, plenty of usage for multiple showers. The soaking tubs were so enjoyable at night under the stars. The owners are friendly and take great pride in this place, they have added lots of cute little touches that make this place feel like a home away from home. They have gone out of their way with this one. We would love to come back and stay in one of the yurts next time.

  • We really enjoyed staying at the cabin. We were able to sleep in and have a relaxing morning before our departure, which was much appreciated. The cabin was comfortable and cute, and we felt like everything we needed was in that space. We definitely will return!

  • This is a quaint and very chill cabin to stay a few days. Excellent value for money. Would highly recommend!

  • Charming, quiet, dark with amazing stargazing! A great place to unplug and relax. Bob was a stellar host and great conversationalist, while still allowing us privacy. He encouraged us to explore the whole property - we especially enjoyed a glass of wine up in the treehouse :) The cabin is larger than it appears in the pictures. Nice little touches, like coffee and tea, oatmeal, etc. We brought our own food as the cabin is not too close to town and we didn’t want to drive anywhere anyway! It was a lovely, cozy getaway for me and my partner. Highly recommend if your goal is to unplug and enjoy the peace and quiet.

  • Wonderful rustic place in a very rural area. It was perfect for us. Great "little house" experience.

    Jon2019-10-13T00:00:00Z
  • Delightful place. Felt like we were staying in an enchanted forest.

    Joan2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is a wonderful retreat outside of White Salmon, deep in the forest and full of beauty and serenity yet close enough to town and trails for day trips and adventuring. Lois & Bob have done a marvelous job of designing the She Shed and landscaping the surroundings to ensure a pleasant stay. The Shed has all the basics, including a comfortable bed, warm shower, utensils and dishes, refrigerator and outdoor grill. Since the place is located about 10 miles away from White Salmon, I recommend stocking up on food and drinks and settling in to enjoy the peace and quiet of the area. Finally, Bob & Lois are excellent hosts, offering lots of tips on hiking trails, the local flora and fauna, and scintillating and warm-hearted conversation; but they also respect privacy and the need for quiet, so they provide ample space to unwind, read, or simply enjoy the scenery.

The City of Mosier is a small community of 430 people on the south bank of the Columbia River an hour east of Portland, Oregon. It has its roots in the fruit orchard industry. There is one main dinning choice in Mosier - Mosier Company (MoCo). There is also Mosier Market for essentials. Mosier is connected by the pedestrian and bicycles only historic Hwy. 30 to the world famous windsurfing town of Hood River, 7 miles to the West. The Historic Columbia River Highway winds along the Columbia basalt cliffs to outstanding gorge views. In the spring, acres of breathtaking wildflowers blanket the hills. Hiking, biking, and bird watching are favorite recreational activities. Wineries and local orchards are scattered throughout the greater Mosier Valley. Mosier is located in a transitional weather zone between the moist, heavily-forested west side of the Cascades and the drier bunch grass prairies of the arid central Oregon desert region. You might notice this when you look out the windows and see the transition from trees to sagebrush covered hillsides. The climate is also different to Portland, typically Mosier gets 30-45 more sunshine days per year, less rain, and the average temperature is warmer in summer months by 10-15 degrees and colder by the same in winter months.
  • D'Ann & Steve's place was perfect for our long weekend getaway. It's comfortable and cozy for a night-in while also being close to great restaurants in Hood River and hikes on both sides of the river. We loved our time at their place and highly recommend it!

  • Absolutely accurate description of space. Kitchen is basic, but we managed well with a hot plate and micro. Gas heater and air conditioner maintain great temperature. Shower is a little small and cramped. Susan, Chris’s help was amazing in getting things done. All in all, we had a fabulous time here, and Chris’s home was a good match for us.

    William2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable relaxing space. Pretty view from window that looks out over the Colombia. Whole stay we felt very cozy.

    Sara2019-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • This spot in Mosier is great. Very interesting and cool decorations in the space with a view of the Columbia River. 1 block away from Mosier Company restaurant (highly recommend!). Chris was responsive and offered a bunch of information on things to do in the area.

    Zachary2019-08-17T00:00:00Z
  • This spot is fantastic. It’s right next to the main road and down the street from one of the only charming and tasty restaurants in town but still feels quiet and out of the way. The space is super cute and cozy with a small maze of small rooms filled with art and memorabilia and books from and about travel and various cultures. The kitchen was simple and useful with cool ceramic cups and plates. The bathroom was clean and the shower was hot and comfortable. The host was able to answer any questions and check in was simple. I would definitely recommend staying here for any couple who wants to experience all the beautiful places in the central-eastern gorge with a cute small town as a home base.

  • Just loved this place. Great books, great location, great decorations. Owner must be well-traveled! Mosier was a nice spot a bit away from the bussel of Hood River. Moiser plateau trail was a perfect little hike walkable from the apartment.

  • James' place is wonderfully located, with a great view of the Columbia River. It is shiny new, sparkling clean, well equipped, and very comfortable. And James and Jennifer were wonderful hosts. This is a perfect place to stay while exploring all there is to offer in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge.

  • Beautiful, modern condo that is exceptionally clean and very welcoming. Nice, comfortable bed and great loft area. The fresh, locally roasted MoCo coffee is a treat.

    Jon2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great place to explore Mosier and the surrounding area. Communication with James was great. We would stay again.

    Hassan2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Spotlessly clean, beautifully sleek Scandinavian-style accommodations, with nice light and a very cool sleeping loft. Mosier is a sweet town with several tiny parks, public art, and hiking trails within walking distance of the condo.

  • We really enjoyed staying at James' place. It was spotless and we super easy to find. Would totally recommend his place.

    Chris2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place with tons of room. I’m 6’5” so a lot of smaller Airbnb’s can easily feel a bit cramped, but that was not the case here with tall ceilings and plenty of square footage. All new building and modern design, really can’t go wrong with this place though it seems better fit for people staying 4+ days so that you can take advantage of the full kitchen. Also really appreciated that James was also able to ship me my pair of hiking boots I forgot.

    Gabe2019-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Spectacular view. Quite and clean. Everything is new and works well.

    Eric2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • This space was so cute. It was clean and well-stocked with quality amenities. There is a little table out on the balcony where we sat for morning coffee with a beautiful view. Would gladly stay here again!

Our studio apartment is attached to the back side of our workshop. If you like a comfortable hotel suite but want a private, peaceful, and natural setting come here for a visit. Moonlit Meadow has all the comforts of home and the pasture out back is the perfect place to enjoy the sun and moon rises!
Moonlit Meadow has all the comforts of home. We think the best part of visiting Contentment Acres is getting out and enjoying the peaceful, private, and we think very pretty 20 acres. The views from the backside of the studio and the front of the shop are ever changing with the weather but always beautiful. The sun and moon rise behind the studio and the starry skies can be gorgeous! On clear days Mt. Hood shows herself in front of the shop.
Contentment Acres is surrounded on three sides by timber country with no dwellings and the few neighbors we have are on 20 acre parcels also. We are a country property. In spring and summer we encourage our guests to pick food from the garden and include it in your meals. When the snow flies you can cross country ski or snowshoe. During our hot, dry summers hang out in a hammock and stay cool under the trees.
  • A peaceful mountain oasis - such a special place to stay! Pam was lovely offering us local tips on where to eat as well as driving directions, and yummy homemade treats. The apartment itself is adorable - spacious, super clean and has everything you could need - and the views from the property are just unreal. Close enough to town, but really nice to be removed from it all at the end of the day.

  • Great place to stay and beautiful property.

    Thomas2019-07-23T00:00:00Z
  • Contentment Acres is outstanding. Apartment, yurts, or tents...sure to leave you very satisfied.

    Ruby2019-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • This is a sweet, clean, relaxing getaway! Pam has thought of everything, and every little detail you could want in an Airbnb from the basics and beyond. From a cozy bed to bathroom items and a kitchen ready to use. We loved laying in the grass and watching the clouds, playing horseshoes and petting the outdoor animals. It was about a 20 or 25 minute drive to White Salmon, and about 30 minutes to Hood River, where we went out to dinner one evening, and then back to watch the sunset. We'll definitely be back. Highly recommend!

Includes central air/heat, fully equipped kitchen, BBQ grill, wifi, shared access to a fenced backyard & shared laundry Ask about DISCOUNTS for monthly rentals!

My goal is to provide a safe, quiet and comfortable place for you to rest and relax during your stay in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge. If you have an extra guest (beyond 3, extra fee applies). Lyle is a rustic little town, nothing fancy, but it's quiet, safe and offers easy access to everything the Gorge has to offer. It's located on a quiet street, just off the Klickitat Hwy. Just steps from the Klickitat Trailhead, which runs along the beautiful and scenic river where world-class fishing and our local swimming hole await. It you like kayaking and tubing you have come to the right place. We are just 3 blocks from Hwy 14, the Lewis & Clark Trail and the sand bar, where kiters come from around the world to visit. On a calm day, the shallow water also makes it a fun family venue for dogs, kids and a picnic lunch. The hillside access is to the sandbar is quite steep so elderly or little ones may need some help getting up or down. Doug's beach, one of the Gorge's most popular sailboarding destinations is just 3 miles east on hwy 14. We have two wine tasting rooms in Lyle, Memaloose and Tetrahedron. Memaloose is walking distance, on hwy 14. The Tetrahedron Winery is just a 3 blocks east on Hwy 14. Lyle also boasts a cafe, bar & grill, grocer, or if you are in the mood for a fine dining experience, you can visit the historic Lyle Hotel. There are 5 wineries within 3 miles of Lyle and about 50 within 25 miles, so if wine tours are on your "must do" list you won't be disappointed. For more shopping and nightlife, you can visit the many shops, pubs and eateries in The Dalles, White Salmon or Hood River, all just 15-20 minutes away by car.
  • Nice location place is well kept exactly as advertised and Gloria is a great source of information if you’ve never been to the area.

  • It’s a cozy basement

    Joson2019-04-06T00:00:00Z
  • Creatively decorated cozy basement space. Clean and accessible laundry facilities and a strong internet connection were standouts for me, as I was staying for work. Gloria was a kind and thoughtful host and was very responsive to my needs and questions.

    Christine2018-09-29T00:00:00Z
  • Gloria was a great host and extremely responsive if we had any questions. I got to meet her and she is so wonderful in person as well! The place had everything we needed, we left the door open to get some sun, it had a great yard with amazing fruit and my dog enjoyed it as well! It was so great to explore hood river

    Sogand2018-08-30T00:00:00Z
  • this place has it all! its adorable. and truly gives you that hobbit hole experience. The water is always hot and the temperature in the room is always somehow perfect. everything you need is here. make sure you take time to sign the guest book and read how much other people love this place as well. oh and the fruit trees are very fun as well. also having your own BBQ is a plus. we love to grill. also the host is super sweet and very easy to work with.

    Nikki2018-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • Gloria’s place was a real treat! It’s always nice to check into an Air BnB and have some simple staple items available to you, dish soap, sponge, oil, pepper, etc. These items were available to us and make life so much easier! We rented this place to work for the week and the internet connection worked great. Nice, peaceful and great location. Wouldn’t hesitate to book again!

    Sophie2018-07-03T00:00:00Z
  • The Hobbit Hole is a fantastic space, perfect for our family of 3. The amenities covered all of our needs. The yard is beautiful and the location could not have been better. We were able to easily travel between Oregon and Washington making it to all of our favorite spots and many new ones.

    Christen2018-06-25T00:00:00Z
  • Gloria's place is perfect if you're coming in to hike the area or kiteboard (we enjoyed both!). As it says, this is the basement level, so not too much light comes into the space itself, but the light in the common room and the gorgeous backyard will fill that need! The space is very well-utilized and comfortable for two or three people, and the kitchen is very well-equipped. Thank you, Gloria!

Rustic riverfront cottage with newly updated furnishings. 8 acre private property with 1,000 feet of Klickitat River frontage. Swim, SUP, Fish, Canoe from the private river access. Pure tranquility on this pristine private property on the edge of Lyle. 12 minute drive to the Hood River bridge. Have a coffee while sitting on the deck with 180 degree river views. Enjoy an evening drink while sitting in the hot tub watching Eagles fish from the river.
  • This is a great rustic cabin, perfect for small families or couples, or a small group of friends. The place was cool on a weekend that saw temps in the 90’s thanks to the window AC and a stand-alone unit he put in the kitchen. Two fans provided plenty ly of airflow in the sleeping area and the bed was very comfy (just be careful getting up if you’re tall). The shower is tight but the water is hot and with great pressure. Plenty of towels. The kitchen has all the plates and cooking utensils you’ll need, and some basics like spices and such. Bring everything you want to cook with, like hot sauce, extra virgin olive oil, etc. he has a French press and Italian Moka pot for coffee which was great. Grill and paddleboards are in the laundry room next door and are great. Washer/dryer if you need it. Great wineries close by, great running and walking path next door (literally), and plenty of great hikes/biking trails close by. The real star of this show is the river and it’s beautiful, as is the abundant wildlife, seeing deer on the property every day, bald eagles, steelhead jumping, and even enjoying a pack of coyotes howling for 15-20 minutes during happy hour. In summary, this is a great space and I hope to be able to come back again ( preferably when the chinook are running :-)

    Todd2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • Such an amazingly beautiful property! The cabin was clean and comfortable and the hot tub was wonderful. The host was very helpful with local recommendations and easy to communicate with. The river views and access can't be beat! Loved our stay here!

    Lauren2019-07-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place is perfect for a getaway from it all ..... private, peaceful yet near most anything you would need. It’s beautiful , overlooking the river every sunrise and sunset , also all of the nature is awesome. I can’t say enough about the great time we had. Morgan even happen to have 2 paddle boards we used right on the property and took a paddle up to the beach on the Columbia River. The hot tub was killer also enjoyed that under the stars !

    Jackie2019-07-02T00:00:00Z
  • Being right on the Klickitat River for the weekend was a great experience. Easy access to fishing and hiking, a quiet bench by the river for morning coffee, and easy access to Hood River for dinner.

    C.J.2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great little rustic place, in a small town with some nice views and acreage. Lots of hiking opportunities which we took advantage of. When we had some minor issues, Morgan was a quick communicator and great and caring host. He even bought a BBQ for us to do BBQs and had it delivered, pronto!! Now everyone will enjoy this as well. He has a nice, clean and lovely place and me and my family enjoyed ourselves... oh and I almost forgot to mention the bald eagles and the jacuzzi... what more could one ask for?

    David2019-03-29T00:00:00Z
  • Jaw dropping property. Private forest in the backyard leading down to a picturesque tributary of the Columbia River. Oh, and the hot tub is a dream.

Get a bird's-eye view of the Gorge on your way up, and enjoy your own private suit of rooms in this unique and spacious custom home that was lovingly built. Beautiful grounds, tranquility and nature all around ensure a retreat-like experience.
The Columbia Hilltop Retreat offers a private suite of rooms, located 2100 ft. above the Columbia River on the Washington side. The first picture above shows the general location of the house, and is about a half mile walk out the door. The rental suite is 1000 sq ft of private living space on the first floor of the house. This property is a true retreat, being about 20-25 minutes from either town, and is a perfect contrast to a long day of driving or playing in town. The air is fresh and it is quiet, being high above the freeways and traintracks. The rental area is organized for 2 guests. (extra guests must be approved ) The space is clean, roomy, and bright with high ceilings, in-floor heat for comfort in winter and a shower with endless hot water. Thick walls keep it not only cool in summer but also quiet and never drafty. You have a bedroom with a queen bed, eating area, (with coffee, tea, a mini fridge, and microwave) a TV and lounge area, a library space, an extra sitting room with a fold out couch for extra sleeping, and your own bathroom. For food you have a microwave, small fridge, and some breakfast basics are provided. It is not a fully equipped cooking rental but geared rather to provide for your smaller food needs. If you are planning on preparing lots of meals in, this might not be the best fit for you. The grounds close to the house are grassy and your front lawn is landscaped to be a little oasis. There are chairs and a covered front porch for you to sit on and enjoy some of the peace that is all around. You can also explore the rest of the two acres of mowed field and curated trees or go for a nature walk right from the door. Off the driveway is great road biking, mountain biking, road running, trail running, hiking and world class paragliding. TIP...Remember the distance to town when organizing your schedule. You can arrange your check in for any time after 5:00 p.m. Exceptions for earlier check-ins can usually be accommodated if you have a tricky schedule. You will want to ask before booking by sending an inquiry, though, just to make certain that it's possible on the day you are requesting. Directions: There are two ways of getting here. One option is straight up Courtney Rd., which quickly and dramatically climbs the hillside to the top of Burdoin Mt. If you don't mind the twists and turns and a few miles of primitive, gravel road near the top, I recommend it in good weather for ease of finding the house as well as the sheer beauty of the drive. You simply check the odometer and go exactly 5.25 miles and turn left into the driveway. You can see the house from the road, so don't worry or overthink it. As long as you stay on Courtney and DO NOT use GPS, you'll be fine. Tip; when the road turns back to pavement at the very top, you go just 1/10th of a mile down and turn left into the shared driveway. ( It says 527 and also 525.) The other way is up from White Salmon which is less dramatic but regular, paved road all the way. It is kept plowed in winter, as well. (There is one view up top that is spectacular.) Follow: Jewett Blvd. to N.Main, then turn right onto Snowden. Then from Snowden, right onto Bates for 1 mile, then right onto Tunnel (it merges eventually with Bristol but ignore the name change, just go straight through) Turn right on Courtney and go 7/10 mile to the driveway on your right, turn in. The drive takes 15 to 20 minutes from White Salmon.
The Columbia Rim Estates has some full time residents and some vacation homes. Most of the homes are pretty spread apart and the feeling is so peaceful and relaxed that you really feel like you are away from it all.
  • Christina was a wonderful host. Beautiful place, lightning fast communication, and lots of interesting books. We loved the french press and fresh bananas. Would absolutely recommend a stay here. Thank you!

  • I loved staying here. The property is beautiful and it’s only a short drive from White Salmon and Hood River. The inside is very stylish and comfortable.

  • My daughter and I stayed one night and found Christina to be a gracious host with a lovely home, sparkling clean with many extra touches to make guests feel welcome. It is such a beautiful, quiet setting. As we arrived we were treated with a glimpse of a deer family as they sprinted from the driveway. After being greeted by Christina, she recommended that we take a walk to a viewing point of the Columbia Gorge. We arrived in time to take in an amazing 180 degree view of the Gorge just as the sun was setting......Awesome!! In the evening we were outside watching the stars come out! I look forward to a repeat visit! Thank you, Christina!

Lots of room to spread out here and relax! plus a nice place to sit and enjoy the outdoors! Bring a bottle of wine and some cheese and you will have a great get away! Chris also provided us some nice breakfast options! We highly recommend this place!

Welcome to my home in the heart of the Gorge! You're walking distance from the sandbar, the Klickitat Trailhead, wine tasting and more. Enjoy the views, explore the great outdoors, you're minutes from world-class kiting, kayaking, hiking, and fishing - or visit one of our local wineries, breweries, cider makers. Relax in sleepy Lyle or in just 15 mins you can be in Hood River for a night on the town! Furry friends (well-behaved dogs) are welcome.
Enjoy a view of the Gorge from the kitchen, bedrooms and deck of this home. I stay here part-time so my kitchen is well equipped for home cooking.

  • Home was as described. Great for a short getaway, or like in our case a longer term stay for business. Gloria was easy to contact and friendly host.

    Erik2019-10-11T00:00:00Z
  • The house is really well set up and actually a bit bigger than we were expecting. Gloria is a great host who immediately answered any questions we had. Would definitely stay there again!

  • We enjoyed our stay. Great place, nice and clean.

    Irene2019-08-25T00:00:00Z
  • The upstairs at Gloria's place (she rents the basement also) is quite comfortable, clean and spacious. The kitchen is modern and well equipped (one of our most frequent complaints about airbnbs is kitchens where someone seems to have never really lived there - considering the lack of everyday practical kitchen ware, coffee making support, etc.). But this is not a problem with Gloria's upstairs kitchen. If Lyle is a good base for your visit then Gloria's place will be a good home for you.

    Paul2019-07-21T00:00:00Z
  • Unbelievable views from the kitchen, comfy reading chairs among the fruit trees in the back yard, and comfortable beds all in a quiet little town on the Washington side of the gorge. Well worth the money!

  • Lovely position and beautiful view right on the river. Peaceful and a great place to get off the grid. WiFi is available and all about the apartment is as described. My husband and I had a lovely time. Great steak place up the road - just expect to wait a while and with that expectation you’ll be fine. Food was worth the wait. Great location to jump in the car and visit the many surrounding and outstanding waterfalls. Highly recommend

  • We really enjoyed our getaway at the Klickitat River Inn. We were thankful our last minute, late night decision to take a spontaneous road trip to southern WA was able to be accommodated. My husband and I love adventuring and getting away so this was the perfect spot and when I messaged Linda about reserving, I was lucky to catch her before she went to bed! She was kind to reply right away instead of pushing it off until the morning :) We are originally from Hawaii but now live in Port Orchard, WA (about 4 hours away) and always enjoy having water nearby. The river was exactly what we needed and the view was amazing! Our unit’s table overlooked the backyard river view and it was a great way to start our morning! We also really enjoyed being able to bonfire and relax by the river even in the winter. We hope to return when the weather gets warmer :) We were happy with Linda’s responsiveness and hospitality. She communicated with us regularly and was always available within reasonable times for minor requests. The unit was very clean, had extra sleeping space which would’ve been perfect if we had friends or brought my step son along too! It was the perfect studio space! We appreciated the full appliances as most BNBs don’t have that so it allowed us to enjoy the space and cool and relax all around. It’s a great place to stay if you don’t mind being “off the grid” for sometime to really just relax and enjoy! Thank you again for having us Linda!

    Barbara2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Linda and Lindsay's listing was very welcoming and inviting. The back deck/patio area was wonderful to relax on with the river burbling past you. Would definitely recommend as a relaxing getaway spot to enjoy some quiet time.

    Louis2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice beautiful calming back entertainment area

    Kristina2019-08-28T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderfully calming outdoor environment without any street noise. The kitchen was more than a kitchenette... I would call it a full kitchen! They even allow recently bathed and flee treated dogs with prior permission and a reasonable pet fee. Me and my little dog were very happy. There is a small, quiet road to a community baseball field equipped with dog-duty stations, which gave us the perfect morning and evening walk experience. And the steak house is good! Straight up comfort food with no butter or sour cream spared in rustic home-town environment... but fantastic flavor. Great quiet weekend getaway with great host Linda, who was prompt with all responses. Will be staying again in the future.

  • We came to Klickitat to fish and loved this spot right on the river. The owners were also kind enough to let us fish on their property down the river. We had our 13 month old with us and loved the Netflix while she napped! The extras in the kitchen like oil and spices were nice also. The hosts were prompt with communication and the check in was super easy.

"Hawk's Nest" is a beautiful and bright 2 bedroom, 1 bath newly constructed home that is the perfect place to relax and recharge. It comfortably sleeps 6, has a well-appointed kitchen, open concept dining and living room area and beautiful tile bathroom. The Nest is an ideal home base for all the Gorge has to offer--hiking, biking, wine-tasting, windsurfing, museums and more. But, be warned--The Nest is so cozy and comfortable and the views so spectacular, you may not want to leave!
The first floor has two bedrooms and a full bath. Bedroom 1 has a queen bed and window with a view of the Columbia River. Bedroom 2 has a bunk bed with a double on the bottom and twin on the top. This bedroom has a lockable sliding glass door to the front of the house. The full bath has a gorgeous, modern tile shower. The light and bright upstairs has a wall of windows that allow guests to soak in the spectacular view of the Columbia River and surrounding areas. The views are truly awesome! The upstairs is a small "great room" with seating area, dining area and kitchen. The seating is oriented to enjoy the flat-screen TV with cable or the spectacular views. There is a fun loft area perfect for sleeping, reading, playing games, or for the kids to put on a talent show. The stylish couch folds flat into a comfortable double bed. The kitchen has stainless steel appliances (including dishwasher) and is very well-appointed. There is a dining table that seats 4 plus bar seating. The Nest is located on a quiet cul-da-sac that is perfect for children to play and ride bikes. It has a large brick patio on the side with a propane grill and room to park 2 vehicles. Walk or bike to downtown Mosier restaurants, ice cream, playground and more. Easy access to Mosier Tunnel Trail and Route 30 for biking, and you can hike to a beautiful waterfall and wildflower hike right out the door. It's a quick and easy drive to downtown Hood River for shopping and restaurants, while still feeling away from it all. Book our home instead of a Hood River Property and save 8% in occupancy tax. This structure is the guest home for our main house, "Hawk's View", which is located behind it. The Nest can be rented in conjunction with the main house or by itself. It is a separate structure from the main house with it's own entrance and parking. The main house sleeps up to 14 so when rented together with this property, it allows up to 20 guests to stay together while still having enough space to spread out. This is truly a one-of-a kind Gorge estate perfect for family reunions or multi-family get-aways. Well-behaved dogs with responsible owners considered for a non-refundable $100 fee. We encourage fun but being respectful to our neighbors is top priority. No loud parties allowed.
Mosier has as very cool vibe with two restaurants (Mosier Company and Rack & Cloth) serving incredible, locally sourced food, beer, wine, cider and spirits often times coupled with live music on their outdoor patios. Both are an easy walk from our house. There is a well-stocked market in Mosier (Brenna's) as well.
  • This lovely space is all about the AMAZING VIEWS, day and night! Seriously, don't bring a computer, leave the ipad at home, forget the TV - you could spend a week staring out the window and never be bored. It is a beautiful location, rain or shine and super close to a 2.7 mile hike with waterfalls and more views. Saw bald eagles, watched the clouds passing overhead, and got the most amazing view of a double rainbow spanning the Columbia right in front of us. Wake up early and watch the sunrise shadows moving across the rock formations out the windows. Best mini-vacation we have had in years!

  • This home is lovely and has an amazing view of the Gorge. The area offers so much to see and do. We enjoyed the local restaurants but also preparing meals at the house. Rain or shine, this is a great place to rent.

  • New and clean. TV could be bigger. Kitchen is a bit sparse on pantry items, but there's a grocery store down the street and a supermarket 10 minutes away.

  • The Hawks Nest is a wonderful, clean, comfy and well appointed place to stay. The view was incredible, we literally felt like we were in a nest above the Gorge. One of the best sunsets I’ve ever experienced. The Host was very responsive and easy to communicate with. A+

  • We had a wonderful 3 nights stay at Jill’s place. She was great with communication and even let us have an early check in. October is by far our favorite time of year to Mosier and Hood River. The views from the living room/kitchen and bedrooms are gorgeous. The house was very clean and comfortable with open living area and kitchen. We cooked most of our meals in and kitchen was stocked with all cooking utensils. Highly recommended for a quiet getaway with your partner or friends. Thank you for sharing your home.

  • This was such a great Airbnb. Loved the views, the hawk nest elevated bed in living room, quiet of Mosier, nearby trail. Amazing, spacious, comfortable!

With onsite dining the hotel makes it a pleasant place to stay and play. Please note we are seasonal with restaurant hours. The hotel is located in a nation scenic area and has dozens of activities such as wine tasting, hiking, bird watching, fly fishing, wind surfing & kiteboarding within a short distance. We are centrally located, just an hour and a half from Portland, ten minutes from Hood River and The Dalles on the Washington side of the Columbia River. Newcomers always leave as friends.
Ten is the classy comfortable corner room with a four poster queen bed facing west, a nice place to gaze at the southern cliffs above the river. All rooms include: High quality linens, comforters, robes, earplugs, bottled water, coffee/tea service in the dining room at 8 am.
The Lyle Hotel Restaurant and Bar was built in 1905 in the beautiful Columbia Gorge. It was an outpost and meeting spot for railroad industrialists, and road builders. It has a rustic charm and a comfortable atmosphere to relax and plan your Gorge adventures.
  • The ambiance is lovely, the hosts super welcoming and friendly, the bar..the food. All Super excellent. The shared bathroom was even fine. This is an older railroad boarding house and has the worn bits and charm. I was not fully prepared but the whole stay was LOVELY!
