Our 30′ Pacific Yurt is a place of tranquility and fun in the round. It’s a perfect for a romantic getaway or family vacation. You have private river access located next to the Strawhouse Cafe’ where you can swim, fish or relax, and there are beautiful hiking areas nearby. The Yurt's kitchen is outfitted with a small fridge, a toaster oven, and a microwave. You also have access to a charcoal BBQ. It is located on the park side, not the river side, but you do have private river access.
  • Expect the BEST hospitality you have ever experienced! The yurt is absolutely gorgeous, immaculate, and accommodating. It’s a magical place. If you’re debating going or not... JUST GO! It is a magical place and the people there complete the experience; it is a wholesome and nourishing place.

    Heidi2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful!! If you happen to visit the yurt on a rainy night you’ll fall asleep to the most amazing sound or rain!

    Pilar2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • A unique and welcoming experience in the yurt!

  • Great place to stay very friendly

    Andrew2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • The yurt is a must stay! We had driven all the way from southern california the night before and arrived earlier than the check-in time. Julia and her team made every effort for an early check-in even though we gave no warning. The yurt is beautiful and had a great skylight that you can watch the sky. Everything was thoughtfully decorated and placed. However-It is close to the main street so you do hear cars/trucks at night. The pizza and salad at the restaurant is a must try. You can eat outside with the sound of the river in the background. Most important of all- the team were really friendly, hospitable and accommodating! It definitely felt like a home away from home.

    Brandon2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • My expectations were already high when I was going here but they have been beaten. Yurt is huge, and has all the things you need. I have never seen a yurt like this. It has a proper bathroom inside of it ! This place is in a Valley with river flowing next to it, no network, and full of natural beauty. Don and Julia also own a cafe next door, it is a really top notch cafe and it is very convenient. They can even arrange chairs for you right next to the river, we were personally blown away by this. Julia and Don were both really helpful. I had to check in late, it was smooth experience. Even during the checkout Julia literally asked us if she can give us some food for the road, she also invited us for dinner at her house for Christmas. Thank you so much for your warm welcome. If you are thinking of going to this area this is a no brainer. This place is next to a lot of great hikes and natural beauty, so Even if you are not thinking of going to this area you should go to this yurt :) We centered our trip around this yurt and we are very glad with our decision.

    Nikunj2019-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • An overall wonderful and fun experience! Love the yurt! Thank you Julia , Don and staff for your awesome service! We will be back.

    Christine2019-04-07T00:00:00Z
  • The yurt experience was amazing! The description of the yurt meet all our expectations. We had a great experience and look forward to visiting again.

Rustic yet contemporary, "Cabin in the Woods" in the iconic Poker Bar neighborhood is a 1920's remodeled Trinity Lumber Company cabin sure to provide guests with memorable stays. A great value, the cabin has everything--tranquility, pet-friendly, close to fishing, golfing, hiking & outdoor recreation. The Trinity River is a walk away on the same property and is also ideally located near 3 towns, 3 lakes, the Trinity River & access to public recreational areas.
The cabin nicely sleeps 4; a couple and 2 additional people. If you have more than 4 people in your group there is a also very comfortable queen sized self-inflatable mattress with bedding. (contact me if you have a group larger than 5 people--I also have a separate RV/camping site in the meadow below). The master bedroom has a lush queen bed, double closet, dresser, office space, Internet, lots of natural light and blackout curtains with views of the wooded areas. The room right outside the bedroom is a shared bedroom with a soft comfy double bed and a twin bed, a small cafe bar w/stools and a full size washer/dryer. No need to mess with starting a wood stove, as the cabin is heated and cooled with an efficient mini-split heating/AC system. There is also a ceiling fan in the master bedroom and two floor fans that can be moved anywhere in the cabin. Located in a very safe and private area in Poker Bar and secluded in the trees, the cabin is a perfect place to get away and 'unplug' and enjoy the beauty and many recreation opportunities of the Trinity Alp's. The kitchen has a nice variety of spices, condiments, culinary knives, an assortments of teas and coffee, and all cooking essentials. There are convenient stores/gas stations in Lewiston and Douglas City, as well as a full service (Holiday) market and CVS store in Weaverville. As far as fishing, there is first-class salmon and steelhead runs nearby. A few guides from Trinity Fly Shop on Lewiston Rd. live right in the neighborhood! Additionally, there is a large salmon hole within a 5 minute walk from the cabin. Drift boat and raft access is available within the neighborhood or about 1 mile at Bucktail public access. The River typically rises starting late April/early May and goes up and down, and then completely down to about 350 towards the end of August. Lewiston Lake is about 10 miles away. Blue ribbon rainbow trout 5lb+ pound trout are common in this lake. Boats are available at Pine Cove Marina for rent. The Trinity River Hatchery is the largest salmon and steelhead hatchery in CA and is located at the end of Trinity Dam Boulevard. For more information on river levels and fishing conditions, contact Trinity River Restoration or visit The Trinity Fly Shop in Lewiston or Pine Cove Marina for boat rentals. The property and surrounding areas support an abundance of wildlife. Deer, fox, bobcats, rabbits, bears, bald eagles, hawks, osprey, blue heron and other critters can be seen often. For those wishing to hike, the Trinity Alps trail heads are a 30 minute drive. See maps inside the cabin for information on hiking and backpacking trails. There are also day hikes around Lewiston and Trinity Lakes, as well. The friendly staff at the Forest Service office in Weaverville also has additional maps and information on the area.
The Poker Bar neighborhood is a mix of locals and retirees who live here or visit their second homes. Some residents live on the river and some along the main roads and up in the hills. It's fun to bike/walk up and down Reo Lane, Bridge Road, and Poker Bar West and/or get wet in the river on my property, or swim at area lakes.
  • Roads are a but windy.. but just take your time. This is a great place to unwind and unplug. Although there was wi-fi at Lisa's, reception is minimal in the valley. The cabin is wonderfully accommodating. Centralized location, no crowds, great privacy, and safe. Just bring your own food and drinks, and a grateful heart, and Lisa takes care of everything else. Would highly recommend.

    Victoria2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Cute, comfortable cozy cabin. Met all our needs! Quite area, would definitely stay again.

  • We recently stayed at Lisa’s place this week and it was such a cozy place! She was very nice and accommodating. Very clean and stylish. I loved she had toys and games for our kids helped to keep them busy. She also had some sweets for us which was kind of her. Would definitely stay here again in future!

    Alexandra2020-01-30T00:00:00Z
  • For my Christmas/New Years Trip I decided to plan a mother daughter trip and this was the best location. Lisa was able to allow us to stay with our dogs which we are so thankful for. One of our highlights would have to be waking up to see all the deer run by from the window or just opening the back door. Lisa had some delicious treats when we arrived, as well a binder with all the information you may need to near by locations and answers to how we could utilize in the cabin. It’s an amazing place to disconnect and enjoy the magic of nature. We drove up a couple miles to enjoy some snow and the river is absolutely magical. This is definitely a place I would love to return to. Lisa was very great at responding and making sure we were well taken care of. Thank you Lisa! Definitely coming back!

    Catherine2020-01-02T00:00:00Z
  • Great place!

    Sorren2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Great space 15 mins outside of Weaverville and about 5 mins off a small road from 299. The directions to get there aren't too difficult once you've done it once and it's fairly easy to figure out from google maps. We stayed here for 3 nights while we fished elsewhere during the day and it was a very relaxing place to return to after being out on the water all day. The cabin is fully outfitted and Lisa has everything you need to have a comfortable stay without worrying about not having something, it's all there and she's thought of everything.

    Christopher2019-11-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lisa's place has everything a cottage getaway would need. This location keeps you only one hour away from larger city limits and provides peace and comfort in the woods. For those cooks, Lisa provides the perfect pantry amenties in the Kitchen. She definitely gets all stars on all the touches she provided, even delicious farmers market brownies at our check in! We had the pleasure to meet her and we will definitely keep it on the list for a return stay. Thank You Lisa for your great hospitality, you surpassed our expectations!

    Veronica2019-10-24T00:00:00Z
  • Cannot say enough positive things. We spent our 30th wedding anniversary here, and it was absolutely amazing! More than we could ask for. Lisa is a awesome host and the cabin was immaculate w many accomodations, peace and quiet, privacy and beautiful surroundings. We can't wait to visit again and enjoy it all over. ❤️ Thank you so much, Lisa and for this Gem in the Woods! ~Tanja n Mike

  • Debbie’s place was an amazing retreat for our family! She provided wonderful toys and books for our 1.5 year old who loved playing with the toys and exploring the grounds. My husband and I enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit every night. The place was cozy and clean. Debbie was an amazing host and so accommodating and easy to contact! Would highly recommend Bliss Acres for a relaxing getaway.

    Ann2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Debbies place is truly Bliss Acres. The location is just fabulous, in the woods in the mountains, the hot tub is a fantastic bonus, and the accommodation is so comforting and cozy! Thank you!

    Liliana2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • A romantic mountain get away! I will say, it’s quite an adventure to actually get to the space so be prepared! Bring extra food and drinks! But once you settle, you’ll love the cute little kitchen, the meditation spaces, the comfortable bed, the HOT TUB, and all the dogs that live in the mountain community! I hope some day I am able to return for another week of me time!

    Jenny2020-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • Quant bungalow with comfortable, clean accommodations at a great value. Definitely recommend visiting Debbies Bliss acres as I know I will be returning.

    Jason2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Bliss Acres is so charming! Perfect place for a getaway in the mountains. Debbie has the place well-stocked and brought us some extra kitchen supplies quickly on request. It had snowed before our trip so the area was beautiful. Luckily the roads were clear - the last stretch is on a narrow road winding up the hill. It was silent at night, no animal issues, and could see the stars. Hot tub was nice, no issues with utilities, WiFi is as described. We only went out once per day - it’s much nicer as a spot to unplug and settle in.

    Kyle2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second stay, and every bit as great as the first. The inside was clean, smelled nice, and warm. Everything you need is there to cook, and plenty of space to enjoy a nice evening walk. I am looking forward to the coming fire pit! She puts great care into her Bungalow, and it is seen in every touch. A very nice vacation for us.

    Miles2020-01-12T00:00:00Z
  • This was our second time back at Bliss Acres and we are so grateful for Debbie because she is such a gracious host! The bed is incredibly comfortable, the entire bungalow smells great thanks to the Doterra essential oil diffuser. We took advantage of the hot tub again and Debbie treated us to some of her wine. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook our meals. Whenever we had a question for Debbie she always communicated back within minutes! Bliss Acres has become our favorite weekend getaway and we can’t wait to be back!

RiverView at Trinity is a family friendly fishing cabin located steps from the Trinity River. Located on 3 acres, this 3-bedroom, 2-bath cabin will undergo a major remodel in 2019, but is "rustic ready" now for your family or fishing buddies to take advantage of the prime location on the Trinity River. Per night rate includes Trinity County Transient Occupancy Tax
RiverView is closer to the river than any home located on the Trinity. The 2-story cabin has 3-bedrooms and a bathroom downstairs and a large living room and kitchen upstairs. Each bedroom has a Queen bed and there's room upstairs in the living room for a couple of kids to sleep on the couch or floor. What do we mean by "rustic ready"? We recently purchased RiverView and are planning some major upgrades and a remodel. You can see by the photos that the home is pretty awesome as it is, but we know the kitchen and bathrooms need some updating and the outside of the home needs a paint job. We are holding off on these to do them during the remodel. We have kept the rates low, with this in mind.
  • This quaint cabin was beautiful! Located right on the river, where fishing was easily accessible and had breathtaking views! Shannon and Renee were quick to respond and a pleasure to communicate with. The cabin was also kept very clean. My family and I had a great few days staying here and will definitely be back!

  • Great place to relax, listen to the river, BBQ, float around in the river, and hang out in the living area. The spice rack was great and helpful and there were a lot of cooking supplies to use. Bed rooms were clean, neat, and comfortable. Great place to relax and get away.

Fishella Motela is named after an avid hunter and fisherman Phil Fishella. The space is a cute sleeping cabin RV site right on the Trinity river. It has wonderful outdoor space for guests who either want to camp, sleep in the cabin or hook up their self-contained RVs. There is a second RV site on the opposite side of the property which has all RV hookups (water, electricity and sewer) in a woodsy, flat meadow site with views of the Trinity forest. The pictures will recognize the differences.
Fishella Motela is a 120 square foot cabin and has electricity for a self-contained RV and lots of space for camping. The alternate RV site is in a woodsy meadow which has hookups for electricity, water, and sewer, two large fire pit areas with wood stump seats and hammocks with views of the Trinity forest.
The neighborhood is very safe and composed of a mix of full-time residents as well as those visiting their second homes. There is a lot of active wildlife in the area, beautiful stars at night and simple rustic charm. Trinity has many recreational, entertainment, farmers' markets, and traditional events throughout the year in Lewiston, Weaverville and Douglas City. Please always respect neighbors, no noise after 9PM, speed limit signs, the land and animals and rental rules.

This is a real but restored and enhanced miner's cabin that offers a dog-friendly, wonderful setting with 2 beds mere feet from the scenic Trinity River. The river rock landing with fire pit/BBQ is a nature lover's dream come true. Fish right there, or wade to the riffles. Sharp-eyed guests spot the resident bald eagles and river otters. Midsummer-late fall, watch huge salmon spawn just a few feet from the landing. Ask about 3+ night discounts.
The cutest little cabin on the river! Relax inside and enjoy the natural light that all the windows let in or hang out on the back deck that overlooks the Trinity River. Below the back deck is the river landing, which has chairs and a table, is finished with river rock, and has a fire pit. This cabin is surrounded by trees with an unobstructed view of the river. Blackberries and plum trees are flush with fruit for you to pick and enjoy in the summer and fall. A birdwatchers delight, as well. Bald eagles, osprey, heron, and migratory waterfowl and songbirds frequent this location. Exceptional fishing right in the backyard.
This property is right on the Trinity River. Weaverville is only 10 minutes away for shopping, gas, fishing tackle, etc. Guides can be suggested by host for fishing or rafting/ kayaking.
  • The place is just as its described! The river behind the cabin is beautiful. Plenty of things to do. We went to weaverville which is the next city west of Douglas City and went hiking. The cabin supplies everything you'd need.. a small fridge, outdoor firepit to cook and grill, cooking utensils, and plenty of firewood nearby. It was perfect for a weekend trip to get away from the city. Highly recommended.

  • Great little cabin along the trinity river. It has everything you need to feel comfortable and to enjoy the outdoors. This was my second time staying at the miners cabin (for a fishing trip) and it did not disappoint. I’ve always had a blast at this place. Justin takes good care of the cabin and is responsive if you have any questions.

    Josh2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Very cute, cozy cabin. River is right outside the back door! Great spot if you’re looking to unplug and get away from it all. This cabin is a little distance from the other and is much more private. We came in the winter and found the heating worked very well, there was plenty of hot water for showers, and it was a great spot to cuddle up out of the cold. Wifi was spotty and no cell service (and no TV) means “roughing it,” without electronics (haha) — but I highly recommend doing so, it was GREAT for the soul. FYI kitchen has all the necessities with a toaster oven & microwave, but no stove; we just put our Colman gas grill on the porch and it did the trick. Perfect spot to unwind in a rustic setting, and comfortable if you’re looking for something a bit easier than camping. We found it to be a very romantic spot to spend our anniversary. :) Hosts were very accommodating and are nice people all around. Thanks to Justin & co., we loved it! Cheers! - Michelle & Nghia

    Michelle2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • What an amazing cabin. It is right on the river and extremely peaceful. Inside, the cabin is very cozy with lots of thoughtful personal touches. The kitchen has the basics of what you need — electric skillet, toaster oven, microwave, utensils, etc. I did have a hard time with the WiFi, so that’s something to keep in mind, but overall I loved staying here and will probably try to stay again. Justin was also responsive and helpful throughout the stay.

    Grace2019-11-30T00:00:00Z
  • This is such a lovely place to retreat! It is utterly surrounded by trees and completely secluded and private – and the river is right there, sparkling and beautiful and teaming with wildlife. The cabin was very clean, warm, cozy, and exactly what we expected. The loft bed was incredibly comfortable! What an utterly charming spot - I wish we could have stayed longer!! Be aware that there is no cell reception and we were unable to get any usable wifi either. However they do provide a landline, so you're not utterly stranded. They also have a binder full of information that is so helpful and thoughtful. We didn't see another soul while we were there and that's just how we like it!!

    Mani2019-11-17T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect location on the river! Nice cabin that was the perfect size for our little family. I was nice to unplug, relax and enjoy the scenery.

    Samantha2019-11-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is a great little cabin by the river. Very pretty view of the river, lovely trees, peaceful. We went to fancy dinner at the Indian River (Indian Creek??) resort just down the road. Be aware that the path to the river involves a ladder if you have mobility issues! Wifi was touch and go, which was fine for us. Bed was comfortable. Justin was very helpful getting us checked in.

    Jonathan2019-09-09T00:00:00Z

  • Sheri’s place was perfect for us to stay at while visiting family in Weaverville. It’s clean, quiet, nicely decorated and had everything we needed to eat, sleep and relax. It was very comfortable. She was a nice host and very responsive. It was in a beautiful location. Really nice Weaverville Airbnb. Keep in mind: the dirt road getting to the house is rough and steep - not appropriate for a sedan - may frighten some drivers. It’s a 10 minute drive from town and very dark at night. There’s only one walk in shower in the house, the other is a claw foot bathtub shower. The loft is small - better for kids than adults, and it’s hot up there too. The host came by at 8am on our first day with her dog. She lives on the property.

Our place is close to downtown Weaverville, art and culture, family-friendly activities, restaurants and dining, Trinity Lake and river, and the Historic Joss House. Our home is quiet and peaceful. The beds are comfy, the kitchen is roomy, and the yard is huge. Weaver Creek runs through the back of the property. It is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families. Please note that the outdoor furniture & bbq are only out between Memorial & Labor day weekends. We have WiFi.
The house is about 1400 sf. It has a living room and a family room. There is a shaded front porch with *Adirondack chairs for lounging, and there is a patio with electric bbq and an umbrella table with chairs for eating al fresco, as well as a bench overlooking the back of the property for lazy afternoons reading or snoozing. *please note bbq and outdoor furniture is only out between Memorial&Labor day weekends
Quiet and peaceful. You can hear the sound of the creek year round. We are in a "neighborhood", but the lots are an acre or more and there's plenty of space and privacy. The neighbors are friendly but not nosey.

  • This cabin is beautiful inside and out. The photos don't do it justice. You have to see the great detail put into all the building of this wonderful home. Lots of space. Clean inside and out. The kitchen is wonderful for preparing any meal and the commercial stove and double oven work amazing. There is even a heat lamp in the Viking Hood over the Viking Stovetop. Outdoor propane grill also works great. The location is great! In between Trinity and Lewiston Lake and also not far from Whiskeytown Lake. The home is in a very quiet area and the surrounding nature is a wonderful site. The hosts were very communicative during our whole stay and even gave great tips on fishing as well as family fun activities in nearby towns. Our family absolutely loved this vacation and would definitely look forward to coming back in the future! Thanks Lisa and Michael for being great hosts!

  • This home in the woods is absolutely beautiful! What a great place to hangout with family and cook and enjoy meals. This house is so welcoming and comfortable. We enjoyed just hanging at home and being in nature. Michael, Lois and Lisa were excellent hosts and made sure we had everything we needed. We did have everything we needed in this well furnished house and loved every minute of it. This is a great location being close to shopping in Weaverville and close to Lewiston and Trinity lakes. We may need to come back next year!

    Matt2019-08-04T00:00:00Z
  • This place was amazing, especially compared to the other places I have stayed in and around Lewiston. The house was spacious and clean and the owner would answer any questions within minutes. The location is good and fairly easy to get too. The only issue I had was trying to access the river from poker bar road, there were a bunch of no trespassing signs and I was unsure where I could fish from. This was inconsequential when you consider how many other spots there are to access the river and obviously has nothing to do with the house. The kitchen was unbelievable and had everything you could need. The best thing I can say is that this house was clearly well maintained, there were no bugs or other peats common with cabins in this area. I will definitely be renting this place in the future!

  • We had a wonderful stay at Wendy’s place. The home has a wonderful layout with beautiful views of the mountains in the front of the house. Everything was as described or better, the kitchen was fully stocked, even those who love cooking will find enough pots and pans and supplies. The home was tastefully updated over the years and has a charming late mid century feel. It’s blocks from downtown and very convenient and Wendy was very responsive to any issues or questions we had.

Wendy was willing to host us and was such a pleasure to meet in person. This home is phenomenal! Such a gem in Weaverville. Beautiful serene setting with panoramic views. Cozy and spacious inside. We fell in love with the space and you can see some original bones in the home. Beautiful history and property. Thank you Wendy for such a lovely stay!

  • What a wonderful and gracious hostess Wendy is, so friendly and accommodating. She did everything possible as a hostess to make me feel at home. Her timely responses to my many messages was not only extremely helpful, but very ingratiating. The entire house was impeccably clean and neat. The house is cozy and comfortable and is appointed with all of the standard domestic amenities, plus it has a beautiful view towards the Trinity Alps. I highly recommend this location.

  • The Ohde house was great! Wendy was great with the communication — check-in and check-out were ultra-smooth. The house was so clean and comfortable— loved the lazyboy chairs in the living room. When I needed to get some work done while the spouse took time off, it allowed me to have a serene and beautiful workspace next to the living room picture window, while the spouse went hiking nearby. Ohde house is about a 10 -15 minute walk to downtown Weaverville, to a small cafe and eatery called Mama Llamas, where we went for breakfast on occasion. The kitchen was well-stocked...we made meals with ease —- Wendy provided all the essentials and more... (thanks for the mustard, which we needed for sandwiches!)

  • We were looking for a place to stay in town, but close enough to go to Trinity Lake. This house fit the bill. It was centrally located in town, clean, tidy, safe, secure, cozy, and comfortable. Our family will definitely be returning to this lovely home.

  • Our stay was superb! Wendy accommodated my family of 5 (including a 3 and 5 year old), in any way she could. From having a side rail for the bed my kids and I slept in, the toys, and lounge chairs on the deck, our stay was splendid. I would come back in a heartbeat. If you’re looking for a place to stay in Weaverville, this is it.

Located on the sloping hillside across the street from the Strawhouse Cafe', this yellow house will greet you with a warming glow as you enter in. At almost 1,100 square footage, two bedrooms (a queen bed in each), two bathrooms, heating/ac, a full kitchen, washer/dryer, and very spacious living and dining room areas, you have plenty of room to enjoy each other's company. Meander down to the Trinity River on the Strawhouse Cafe' side or enjoy the garden and mountain views from your living room.
Although it is attached to Creekside Cottage, it does not share any living spaces but does share the undercover porch and patio areas. It's perfect for families who want to be close to each other but not in the same space. It is one of two of our pet-friendly accommodations (the being the Creekside Cottage next door). Must notify Strawhouse prior to arrival if bringing a pet. Pet must be well-behaved and non-destructive. Absolutely no pets with fleas are allowed. Although we love animals, pets are not allowed down by the river's edge on the Strawhouse side of the property out of respect for other guests (there are other local river access areas - please ask about them!), but there is a very spacious and beautiful lawn area on our park side that they are free to enjoy and lots of beautiful hiking areas nearby! We do ask that you pick up after your pet.
We are nestled up to the Trinity Alps Wilderness Area, and just a short walk to the Trinity River. The Strawhouse Cafe' is just across the street and serves their freshly roasted organic coffee daily, along with their in-house baked goods and delicious food menu. The Redwoods are 1.5 hours west of us, and Lassen Park is just 2 hours east of us. Willow Creek (45 minutes west) hosts the famous Bigfoot Museum and Weaverville (20 miles east) has a plethora of gold mining history. Hiking, fishing, rafting, bird watching, mountain biking and relaxing abounds here - there is something for everyone!
  • Julia really makes you feel like you are part of the family there. Great accommodation, great location and great food and coffee in the restaurant. The wood fired pizza is amazing. Can’t wait to get back that way!

This spacious and elegant riverfront cabin with 30' ceilings is ideal for fishing groups, families and everyone else who is looking for a wonderful spot in nature where they can explore & unwind. It features 2 unique sleeping lofts and one traditional bedroom, 2 baths, a large and well-appointed kitchen, big living room and a laundry/mud room. Fast, UNLIMITED Wi-Fi added Fall 2017.
Alpen Glow is a wonderful, pet-friendly cabin that has an extraordinary deck overlooking the river. The railings are see-through with stainless steel cable horizontals to optimize the view. The huge kitchen is fully appointed. Pretty much, if it doesn't have it, you don't need it. There is a large pantry with many basics. There is dining for 8-10 (if approved; Alpen Glow is priced for up to 7 guests). The large living room has 30-foot ceilings, an electric fireplace that provides pleasant heat and is stunning to watch, an extensive library, flat panel TV with Dish TV and DVD player with a large library of movies. The very large leather sectional features a recliner and a comfortable hide-a-bed, so extra guests can sleep there and not on the futon in the master loft, which gives everyone more privacy. Alpen Glow has Wi-Fi, cable TV and a (shared) land line phone with free long distance. Wi-Fi has been a stumbling block for us here because we've had limited suppliers and options but Fall 2017 we finally got access to unlimited fast streaming and we jumped immediately. The cabin has all kinds of sleeping areas, including two lofts (one is an enormous master loft with a CalKing bed and in-room Jacuzzi tub. Its closets are so large, we even put a twin bed in one of them). There is one traditional bedroom with a queen bed and a twin bed and the leather sectional in the living room has a queen hide-a-bed in it as well as room for another sleeper on the other side of the couch. Yes, it is THAT big! More details below: The lofts are open, but do not look on each other. The spacious Master Loft has a California King log bed with an organic memory foam topper, wood stove, Jacuzzi tub in room (not an outdoor hot tub; a bathing tub), queen futon and a private bath (toilet & shower; double vanity). The River Loft log bed looks out over the river, mountains and sky. The traditional bedroom on the main floor has a handsome wrought iron queen bed with pillowtop mattress and a twin bed. There's a mud room that's great for drying gear. The mud room has an additional pantry, washer and dryer, plus a deep sink. Alpen Glow has an enormous deck overlooking the Trinity River, mountains and trees. Year-round, this is a favored spot for guests. There is a shared BBQ patio on the upriver side of Alpen Glow, but the majority of the cabin focuses on the river and guests rarely see other cabins' guests unless they go out of their way. Birdsong is so abundant, it boggles the mind. There is salmon and trout fishing at the cabin, plus a swimming hole. Wonderful ponds nearby are warmer than the river in summer, and fun for calm water swimming and playing with your dogs. A log swing and comfy chairs are all around the 1.15 acre lot that is shared by 2 other cabins, each unique in its own right and private from each other, but close enough you can rent all for a large group, as many family reunions in summer and fishing groups in winter do. There are no other properties on the Trinity River that equal this location. It really does have everything.
Nothing beats staying right on the river, whether you fish, swim, play in it with your dogs, or just want to sit and look at it burbling past.
  • We stayed in the Alpen Cabin on the property. It is a nice two story structure with one private bedroom and an open loft upstairs. There is more than adequate sleeping space. The river view is serene. We stayed one night while in town for a basketball tournament. Our kids had an amazing time making memories to last a lifetime. If you are there to enjoy your surroundings in a peaceful and comfortable setting then book with Justin. He was very accommodating and responds quickly. We had the pleasure of meeting with the housekeeper as we arrived early to clean up before the first game. She is very pleasant and accommodating as well.

    Sherry2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Totally awesome and quick communication, which was super important because we booked Justin’s space last minute. Accommodating and beautiful, quiet and the perfect weekend getaway. Thank you!!

  • Definitely a great place to stay if you’re looking to be close to the river. The property is very nice and the cabin is perfect for medium-sized groups. Justin was extremely helpful and informative. We had everything we needed and more. Highly recommend!

  • This place is just amazing! Justin is so nice and accommodating. We would have loved to stay longer but, on this trip of ours, we scheduled to stay at every Airbnb we booked for two nights at a time. The pictures, especially of the backyard, doesn’t do it justice. We will definitely come back.

  • Nice Vacation home Justin has. Spent relaxed vacation with friends and family. would recommend this house.

  • Robert was a great host. He kept us informed on weather conditions since we were going for Thanksgiving and it was snowing at the time, so it was very helpful. He met us at the cabin so he can get the place warm and toasty before we got there! I highly recommend Robert and his cabin and the beauty you'll find there! Thanks again! Cant wait to come back.

    Tanya2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • We loved everything about our stay. Robert was super friendly and responsive, and the property was awesome — even nicer than suggested by the listing photos. Perfect for anyone who enjoys nature and outdoor activities or is just looking to hang out and relax.

    Dan2019-11-25T00:00:00Z
  • We had a phenomenal vacation at Robert's cabin on the river. I almost hesitate to give it too much praise because I want it to be available for myself again. The location is everything; in the woods, on the river, off the highway, quiet, peaceful, private. The view out the kitchen, living room, and master bedroom windows, and off the back deck looking at the river, was captivating and a highlight. We were there for fishing season, and well past summer and early fall. Still we had fabulous weather during the day and were very cozy at night with the wood burning stove (all the wood we needed was chopped and ready for us). There are also some electric space heaters, but we didn't use them. Robert was an exceptional host and took the time to go through all the aspects of using his home when we arrived. He has done an amazing job bringing an old home up to date. Good appliances, nice shower, comfortably furnished and a super comfortable bed. He even has a weather station with a nice display inside. We were aware ahead of time, but it does help to know that the bathroom is not attached to the bedrooms. It is a walk across the house. It isn't a large house, so it isn't a long walk, but it isn't right next to you, and we had no issue with it. We were very happy to have WiFi in such a remote area, it wasn't even as slow as we had expected. Even in towns cell coverage was sparse, so the WiFi was important. This is a remote area, and we were there for hiking and fishing and were not disappointed. We were so grateful that Robert allowed us to bring our dog. She had the time of her life hiking and swimming. There are 3 nice dogs next door that came and visited every day. They seem to like Robert's river entry better than their own, and would go down for a swim and a roll in the grass. I would also add a special recommendation for the local restaurant The Cafe at Indian Creek. Very close to the home and we had a great dinner there.

(ASK ABOUT EVENT FEES) This property is amazing and beautiful, peaceful and restorative: a truly majestic setting. It’s hard to describe or show in pictures the awe-inspiring natural beauty of this unique home on 7 acres and a private lake with 340 ft. of shoreline. Monkey house features three bedrooms, an upstairs loft, and three bathrooms - two with soaking tubs, one with sauna jets. The kitchen is outstanding! Rustic rock walls, a six-burner Chef's stove complete with a restaurant-sized griddle, and a bakers delight bonus room for convection oven baking. This kitchen is suitable for large parties as the open floor plan flows into the dining and living rooms, and there is a wrap-around deck that overlooks Pearl Lake. There are three stories: On the first level there are two bedrooms, both with Queen beds, and a shared Jack and Jill bathroom with doors to close off shower/bath area. You can have your canines fenced with access into the house, or you can have them enclosed in the dog yard. From the wrap-around deck you'll have a full view of the lake. As you gaze down on the water while swaying firs and pines canopy above you, you will experience solitude and serenity. Walk straight down the stairs and onto a carpet of lush grass that ends at your own private lake inlet. Perfect for you, kids, and dogs. Swim out to the lake's island, or grab the canoe or rowboat and go fishing or exploring. • Amazing place, mini resort, the private lake is full of fish, Very serene and quiet. We all had a great time relaxing, and fishing

    Jim2018-06-04T00:00:00Z
  • Monkey House is absolutely incredible! Sarah was very responsive and helpful. The house itself is very nice, with plenty of space for a group, and a great kitchen for big dinners. The highlight of Monkey House is the rest of the property: the lake is beautiful, there are large lawns for games, and the lower kitchen means you can stay and enjoy the outdoors all day. I can't recommend Monkey House highly enough.

    Zach2017-06-12T00:00:00Z
  • The home is beautiful. The photos don't even do it justice. There's a ton of open space both inside and outside, the view from the house is unreal and it's a fantastic place to get away. There's a small store 5 min away for emergency supplies and a city about 20 min away if you need more then basic essentials. The whole stay was wonderful and honestly we hope to rent this again some time in the future.

    Zak2017-06-05T00:00:00Z
  • Incredible piece of land. Great for a large group. Cozy living room with an amazing wood stove. Super functional kitchen. Beautiful views. Would love to come again!

  • The monkey house visit was incredibly peaceful and serene. It's very secluded on a private lake with crystal clear water, eagles and deer. The cabin is perfectly appointed with all the plenty of room and all comforts of home. I can't say enough about how beautiful the grounds are. There's wide open spaces for family football games or for dogs to romp. I will absolutely visit again!

    Michelle2016-07-09T00:00:00Z

  • This place was amazing! Better then it looks in the pictures the view from the living room was facing the river and we spent a lot of time just staring out of it. The cafe had great coffee, breakfast and lunch. It was a very relaxing stay. Will be back again.

  • It's the perfect spot for some downtime, relaxing, and as a base for fly fishing on the Trinity River.

  • We stayed at Julia's cabin for a fishing trip over the long weekend, and it was wonderful. The cabin was on the small side, but perfect for our purposes, and was steps from some great fishing on the Trinity River. The hosts provided a fishing shed to store our gear, which was a useful feature - it kept the cabin from being overwhelmed by drying / smelly gear. Julia was an amazing host - she was very responsive, communicated very clearly, and was extremely helpful and flexible in helping us figure out our weekend plans. The cafe on property was lovely, and a nice warm break from the cold river. The other staff were very friendly and helpful, especially when we were running a little late on check in. Overall, I can't recommend this place enough if you're looking to spend a weekend on the river.

    James2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • The place is more beautiful than the pictures suggest, the views are absolutely breathtaking with water running and birds chirping. Time away from wifi and TV was perfect! Cottage has all the basic amenities, and having a cafe means you don't have to leave the resort for food. There are some really good hikes nearby, driving to Caste Crags isn't too difficult either. We loved the stay and will definitely want to go back.

    Sonali2019-05-27T00:00:00Z
  • The view and accommodations were over and above what I expected . There was a restaurant and coffee shop on site and staff could not be more pleasant . It was a wonderful experience/ a little slice of heaven in the trinity mountains . A must see . An absolute must see .

  • Julia and Don's place is the kind where you want to send your friends and family to. Amazing pizzas made of fresh ingredients, great beer, friendly staff, and an amazing spot in the Trinity Canyon. We were a group of 5 and had the best time over Memorial Day. We didn't want to leave when we had to and we'll be back for sure. Make sure you get some coffee.

Large room upstairs with 2 beds, a queen and a double that share a bath with one other room. The bath has a clawfoot tub with shower surround. This room can accommodate up to 4 people ( 2 couples ) or 2 singles.
Comfortable room in a beautifully restored Victorian House in the Historic downtown area walking to shops, restaurants, art galleries and museum along with the historic Joss House
It's a private historic home in a very quaint town with all the comforts of home. I want people to feel very welcome and comfortable as if they are in their own family home rather than just a hotel room.

Cross a single lane bridge, down an unpaved private road to Rivergold Cottage. A cozy cottage for two on the Trinity River.
There are seven homes on our road, three are full time residents, the remainder are vacation homes. This is riverfront property, with a private beach for Rivergold guests.
We are 15 minutes from the historical town of Weaverville.
  • Our stay at Rivergold was great. The cottage was cozy and comfortable, and Claudia was very responsive and easy to coordinate with. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we extended our visit by a day, and wished we could have stayed even longer.

  • A classic Bed and Breakfast home! Beautiful home and surroundings. The rooms were all very nicely decorated and were as comfortable and clean as can be. Our group took over the whole house and it was just perfect for us. I highly recommend Noelle, our host, and this beautiful home!

The Arttus Ranch in the Trinity Alps in northern CA is a great retreat for fishing, hiking, gold-panning, biking, floating or swimming on the Trinity River, boating on Lewiston Lake, exploring the historic gold mining town of Weaverville.
Good views of the Trinity Alps, fishing, rafting, bicycle riding, gold-panning. The house fits 7 people very comfortably, but 2 more guests can be added with a fee. The house is very clean, spacious, comfortable, not fancy.
Very quiet, but close to town (Weaverville). Great bird watching, star watching, stone skipping on the river, bicycling, and fishing.
  • Exactly as advertised. Very clean with an excellent, rustic ambience and a fantastic view.

  • Superb location for Nature lovers. When we first drove we were a little skeptical about it but it turned out to be great. The morning views, surrounding ranches, farm animals, the narrow drives, etc are all great. The river access and greenery are amazing. Barring some small issues (such as heaters or microwave) which were promptly attended to and replaced as necessary, and limited access to stores, it's a terrific place to be away from technology briefly. Once thing to note is - this place is at least couple of hrs away from Shasta/Redding.

  • We had a great experience staying at Lorrie's clean and cozy place. She was very helpful and provided detailed instructions.

  • Great place in a very secluded valley. We had a great time just walking up the road to the river and saw lots of wildlife (deer, squirrels and hummingbirds). The house is well equipped with a washing machine and dryer.

  • This place was just so comfortable and relaxing. Great location for just kicking back and enjoying nature. Fishing and swimming within walking distance from the home. Fun for all family members!!!
