Welcomed us at the front door. A very quiet neighborhood, close to the Linville Gorge Wilderness area, but only a few minutes drive from town.

Charming hosts, comfortable bed, dynamite view! That's what I expected, but what I didn't expect was the gourmet breakfast cooked to order! Al is a great chef and an interesting conversationalist! Jill is charming and very knowledgeable. Everything is nice and clean, yeah, the deck has a floor that is wavy like the ocean but when you get a load of the view..... The only disappointment was we didn't get to play with the three beautiful Dalmatians!

Nothing beats Al's breakfast at the top of the mountains. We wanted to visit the Linville Falls and they were just 4 minutes away. Beautiful views and great hosts!

We had a great time at Alluring Views. We were in town for the Peak 2 Creek Marathon and the place was 2 miles from the start. The place was beautiful, and the upstairs suite was spacious. The included breakfast was especially delicious. Al and Janet were great hosts and made every effort to please us while we were there.

Becky's cabin is amazing, surrounded by lush green woods it is the ideal place to escape from the city. We stayed here to show our family the NC mountains. There are great walking trails directly from the house and also a short drive away. The cabin is beautiful with everything you could need. The only problem was that we found it hard to leave at the end of our stay. Thank you so much for everything Becky!!!

The cabin was great and had everything known to man to accomodate everything from day hikes, grilling out, cooking with plenty of wood for the wood burning stove. The cabin was in a perfect location for skiing and the trails were right off the driveway so there were always activities near by. The cabin was very comfortable and it felt like a friend lent you there cabin! definitely will be back.

Outstanding place & owner! Andrew is very easy & straightforward to communicate with. The cabin interior is even more aesthetically pleasing than photos can convey. The occasional neighbors we encountered were interesting & welcoming. No matter which way the weather turns, or which room you're in, the "surround" style windows offer relaxing views of mountain woodland & wildlife. The climbing & hiking options are so close that you don't have to spend precious time driving long distances. It really felt like a home away from home. What a great place to experience any season of the year.

The cabin was excellent! It has a great rustic feel and a great location next to a true wilderness area. We found it very easy to unwind with nothing but the sound of the wood crackling in the stove or the wind blowing through the trees while sitting on the porch. The proximity to hiking trails is an added bonus. Can't say enough good things about this special place. We will definitely return!

The house was incredibly clean like the last time we visited Andrew's place. The house and surrounding area was gorgeous and well-maintained. He left a welcome package and instructions for the trails. Just awesome. There's a reason we keep coming back to this place.

Our family of four loved our time in Mountain Park. This cozy cabin has trailheads (both short and longer hikes) that literally start in the front of the house. We were there over Christmas and were so lucky with mild weather and we did not see another soul on these trails. Spectacular vistas, peaceful and when we returned to the cabin, - well stocked wood stove and a divine deep soaking tub. The master bath takes up much of the space in the cabin, so the living room and small but excellent kitchen are really not meant for more than 3 or 4 people. We spent much of our time with local family and friends and only spent breakfast and late nights (and the occasional nap time) at the cabin. It was the perfect get-away place for us.

We had an amazing stay at the (URL HIDDEN) was a perfect place..very clean very nice accommodations...Andrew was a great host and left a nice welcome package ...I loved the history of the cabin and Andrew left lots of great detailed directions and advice on local places to visit and hiking...we will definitely be back!!!

Andrew's cabin was the perfect mountain getaway. The place was cozy and well-stocked with firewood, kitchen supplies, and anything else we might have needed. It was evident that every little thing had been thought of. Andrew made us feel very welcome with detailed hiking recommendations and info about the area.

The listing description was very accurate - this is very much a lovely cabin in the woods. The cabin is pretty secluded - my group had little to no cell phone service in the area. The area is very scenic and while there are other homes in the area, it is very quiet. After the sun sets, it is very dark and you can see a large number of stars in the sky. The home was well-prepared for us when we arrived, just as described.

The cabin was the perfect place for our ski trip getaway and we would definitely stay here again! It was cozy, clean, and quiet and there was plenty of room for the eight of us. It had everything we needed and Michael was quick to answer any questions we had. Michael and his father were super friendly and happy to help make our stay as enjoyable as possible.

We really enjoyed our time at Michael's cabin. It was very cozy and warmed up so nice when the fireplace was on. We enjoyed having the kitchen so we could cook in and loved having hiking trails closeby. Our favorite part of the visit was when Michael's dad stopped by with his new puppy who was a little anxious to meet our dog but ended up warming up and playing with him on the porch.

The house was great and had plenty of room. It was clean and very organized. The location of the house was perfect because we went to Linville Gorge and the falls, both were right down the road. And Boone wasn't far at all.

This place was awesome! Our favorite part was cooking in the open kitchen while everyone hung out at the bar. The fireplace/tv setup was perfect for post-ski drinks, too. And Agusta was super responsive and helpful during our stay. We'll be back!

The house is located in a very scenic spot. We stayed in spring and the lack of foliage allowed for great views. The neighboring properties are close and in sight, but we're not an issue. The cabin's main and upper level were remodeled and are well reflected in the photos. We were welcomed by a bottle of wine. The owner communicated promptly and booking was easy / convenient. The upper level bedroom is open to the main level (kitchen / living room) which might affect privacy and ability to sleep when others are up. The kitchen looks great, but need more kitchen tools for people who like to cook. The lower level bedroom is ok - the hall to the bedroom has a basement / semi finished feel. The lower level bathroom is old and in need of a remodel. We suggested to the owners to post a picture of the set up. It's a very simple, worn sink, a plastic shower stall with blackened tub and places that are worn or broken (tile and baseboard heater). To us, the bathroom was an issue as it was tiny, felt very worn and yucky.

A gorgeous house. Open kitchen and living area with loft makes a very sociable environment. The beds are the best I've ever slept on. The towels were superb and dried wonderfully. Very clean and pristine place. It is remote from cities, but very central to hiking. Two hiking maps are available for local hikes. Hiking is within only a couple miles. Very accessible. On the edge of the wilderness for extreme hikers, too. Cell Service is limited and Verizon seems to be the most reliable in the area. Loved the place. Very comfortable and homey.

The pictures didn't do the joke justice! The minute we pulled up we were amazed! This was a nice and cozy spot. We were able to walk and hike nearby, the weather was perfect. Lisa was very helpful and responsive when needed, she made it feel like home. I totally want to come back and visit once it gets colder!

We had a great time at Lisa' place. We had a big group of 9 and slept comfortably all in beds. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils which let us cook all meals. The hot water wasn't working, but the instructions on turning it on were right on point! Waking up was quite amazing in the middle of the fog surrounds by the canopy. Hikes are really close too. I recommend driving down Table Rock for a couple of miles until you encounter the trail head Sitting Bear. Take it in and then make a left on Devil's Trail (I believe that's the name), this will take you straight to the beautiful gorge. The bridge was gone when we were there in June 2014, so don't plan on crossing... There is a gas station about 5-10min north on the 181 in case that you need gas and there are some more touristy spots further north. Besides this, not much to say, we had a great weekend vacation! This was an idyllic getaway! It was everything we wanted and more. I basically felt like I was living in a Visit NC advertisement. The house has everything we needed. We enjoyed playing foosball and watching movies. Didn't get around to taking a jacuzzi bath by the big picture window, but I would like to do that in the future! The hike up Hawksbill Mountain was one of the best I've done in NC, and I've done a lot of hiking around these parts!

Wow what a wonderful space so perfectly located surrounded by natures finest hikes and beautiful scenic views! Lisa is an amazing host, friendly, welcoming and super accommodating! I couldn't ask for a better stay! Her home is lovely, with such a cozy feel :)! .We had perfect weather during our stay, and spent a lot of time exploring and outside on her wrap around deck!!! Even if the weather wasn't perfect Lisa's home was full of fun things to do inside as well, board games, cards and even a foose ball table!!!! We will definitely be back- what an awesome experience- I highly recommend her space;) !!!

Lisa was very welcoming and flexible. She worked with us quickly to get the reservation set up. The house was beautiful, the pictures don't do it justice. The house is pretty much as close as you can get to the Table Rock parking area. This house is perfect for friends and families who want to have adventures in the Linville Gorge. Also, there is an amazing collection of old school rock climbing magazine and guidebooks, perfect for a rainy day.

Our experience at The Edge of the Gorge was fantastic! The house was better than expected. The location was primely located--very close to Linville gorge and lots of hiking. It is also close (w/in 30 minutes) to Boone & Blowing Rock, which was handy since the weather was very cold during our stay and we opted out of a few planned walks. There was a beautiful view from the house. Lisa was a great host. Instructions to get to the house and for finding/operating whatever we needed were very clear. It was very clean, well stocked and a warm retreat during the cold weather (4 degrees F!). We would definitely rent this interesting and cozy house again.

We absolutely loved staying at this circular cabin!! My kids thought it was awesome that there was a foozball table downstairs! There also were quite a few toys and games too. We didn't even turn on the tv all weekend! We loved the proximity to the Parkway and to Linville falls and Caverns too. My husband built a fire in the fire pit and the kids loved making s'mores. The fridge had a decent amount of food left over that we "borrowed" from too. We will definitely book this house again next time. Other highlight of the weekend was the jacuzzi tub!! The kids and myself all loved taking nice bubble baths after hiking all day. Thank you Lisa for providing a house fit for all 4 of my kids plus our dog too! What a great vacation for us!!

Lisa's house was wonderful! The view from the porch was amazing and we were even lucky enough to get snow a few of the days we were there. It was an easy drive to beech mountain for sledding and convenient to Linville falls for beautiful hiking. I highly recommend this perfect home!!!

The round house is adorable and close to everything. We vacationed with one couple and the house was comfortable. It is close to everything - vineyard, Linville Falls & cavern, snow tubing, general store and a brewery. We had a blast exploring. It is difficult to find at night - so plan to arrive before dark. The GPS will take you all over the town and there are a few cell phone dead areas that had us circling the house. Also I would suggest adding seating in the living room. The sofa is only large enough for two which meant someone was on the floor. Overall we would definitely visit again. Thank you Morgan!

Great location just a short walking distance from the national park. The patio next to the house was just fantastic! Everything in the house was clean, the beds were ok, and there were enough kitchen utensils to be able to cook meals at the house. The only glitch we ran into was that the gas fireplace went out, probably because the tank outside ran empty. It wasn't a big deal since it wasn't too cold outside and the house also has baseboard heating. All in all, this is exactly the getaway that I was looking for!

Great place to stay. The house was clean and well stocked. We walked from the house to Linville Falls, and then walked to Famous Louise's for dinner. We used the outside shelter more than the house itself and played board games outside while it rained. The only thing we didn't love was that the house is not as secluded as we thought we'd be. You can definitely hear/see cars drive by all day. It's a great get-a-way, but not a remote or secluded get-a-way. Yes, I would stay here again.

The cabin was absolutely fantastic, and exceeded our expectations. It is quiet, clean, and has a great view from the wrap around porch. The cabin is well stocked with dishes, cooking utensils, and everything else you may need for your stay. It is one of the closest cabins to the entrance of the falls, and an easy hike to get there. This cabin is a true gem.

Morgan was very responsive and helpful. Place was very clean and cozy that we felt home during entire stay. If I go to linvile again i will check out the availability of this place first

Adorable little cottage perfect for a getaway! Fish Camp Cabin's proximity to Linville Falls and Gorge was ideal for us, and you are only 30-45 minutes away from larger towns like Blowing Rock, Boone and Banner Elk. Very clean and comfortable.

Alec's home is beautiful and offers everything you could wish for. The only thing to note is the lack of internet access and spotty cell service. I looked at this as a positive personally but it might impact your decision to stay. The surrounding area is gorgeous and there are lots of restaurants nearby. Perfect mountain getaway.

This was such a cozy cabin! I went with a girlfriend and we had a fantastic time celebrating the New Year. Beautiful, scenic hiking nearby. The cabin is so well designed and cute. The fireplace kept us in business all weekend! Truly a marvelous experience.

We loved staying here while we skied at Sugar Mountain. The cottage is very cute and quaint. It is well stocked with everything you could possibly need, including firewood and nearby restaurant menus. We really enjoyed our stay! It is in a pretty remote location though so cell service is limited. It's a great getaway from the city.

We absolutely loved staying at the Fish Camp Cabins. The cabin was located about 1-2 miles from the Linville Winery, Linville Falls including several options for hikes, a general store and a few local restaurants. The cabin itself had a delightful front porch with rocking chairs and a table. We enjoyed the fire pit - fire wood and marshmallow sticks included (bring your own marshmallows). Alec was a fantastic host - very responsive and helpful the whole time. Great place to go be "off the grid" for a few days!

Alec has created the perfect retreat experience in the beautiful North Carolina mountains. The cabin is beautifully decorated and equipped with everything guests need. From the excellently stocked kitchen (she even has coffee!) to the luxurious linens, this has been the most accommodating and comfortable rental we have experienced. It is clear she is a mom and knows what is needed for a perfect get-away either alone or with the kids!

This cozy cottage was comfortable and well furnished, with plenty of little extras like coffee and sandwich baggies (which we need but forgot) Very comfortable beds and pillows, and very warm and friendly decor. A full service convience store/gas station is only a mile a way. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, close to many good swimming holes. Check out Upper Creek Falls, Wilson Creek, and for scenery, go onto the Blue Ridge Parkway about 10 miles to the Linn Cove Viaduct. Very relaxing vacation, we'll be back!

What a find this cabin was! This was a last minute trip for us and Tami was very accommodating and incredibly easy to get it touch with throughout the entire process. Check-in was incredibly smooth and even though the cabibn is a bit isolated and secluded, it was exactly what we were looking for...Tami's instructions on reaching the place were perfect.

Blue Ridge Mountain Home is great! The neighborhood is really quiet and nice. My family and I (4 of us) stayed here 4 days and had a great time. House is about 15-20 mins away from everything. House has everything for a comfortable stay. We enjoyed the nice BBQ and back side deck outside for dinner. Main area of Linville Gorge for rock climbing is around 40-45 minutes. The area is great for road cycling Blue Ridge Parkway is about 5-10 minutes. In addition Sandy was very quick with communication and arrangements for our stay. We will definitely use this house again in the future. Thank you.

Sandy's home is in a gorgeous development. The home was comfortable and had everything you could need and more. Two bedrooms, bathroom, sitting room and laundry on the main floor and master bedroom, bathroom, living room, dining room and well-equipped kitchen on the upper level. Gas fireplaces in the living and sitting rooms and televisions. There is a beautiful deck that can be accessed from the dining room or via easy stairs on the outside. The deck includes a gas heater and a gas firepit. The house and development have plenty of amenities. The Blue Ridge Parkway and Grandfather Mountain are close by.

The house was welcoming and perfectly decorated for the holidays. The space was perfect for our needs and very pet and people friendly. Sandy was great, the neighborhood has wonderful amenities and very safe. Very close to everything we wanted to do! Would love to visit again and highly recommend this home for your vacation stay.

First, a great part of the country, beautiful and wonderful weather. This home was so comfortable and well appointed. It also had a spacious deck to enjoy the weather. It had everything, as if you were in your own home. The home is part of Linville Land Harbor, a community that is "camp" to both children and adults.

My wife and I traveled to Linville Land Harbor to look at houses for sale. Sandy's house was clean, comfortable...and important for us warm and dry since we hit the "500 year storm" and it rained 15" during the week we were there! The rain didn't slow down our house hunt, but it was a real pleasure to come "home" to our comfortable accomodations. Since there was only two us we just used the main floor (master bedroom and bath, kitchen, dining area and living room with fireplace). The bottom floor had two large bedrooms, a sitting room and bath that would have slept up to 8 more. When we return to Linville we plan to stay at Sandy's house again if available.

Very comfortable feel in the home. Accommodated my friends and I for our weekend getaway to Ski. Would definitely recommend to family and friends. Scott was very attentive as he checked in to make sure we got in okay.

We only had a brief, one night stay at Scott's home, but enjoyed our experience. The house is located in a nice quiet community. The house was clean, comfortable, and easily accommodated a party of five. Scott's check-in and check-out procedures were very convenient as we arrived late and left early the next day. The cozy fireplace was an added bonus on a cold, snowy night.

The Raynor-Shine Mountain Getaway was a wonderful place for our family to stay for the weekend. The home is cozy with a wonderful fire place to enjoy on the cool mountain nights. It was the little details like the notebook of recommendations, notes from previous guests, and board games to play by the fire that made this a home away from home. We enjoyed dining at some of the local restaurants. It is just as described -- near so many of the nice places to visit in the NC mountain area. We will stay here again and recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable place to stay in the NC mountains.

This was a great find. We had a larger party then we anticipated at another rental, and finding the Lake House Retreat saved us. It was a great space for the rest of our guests (2). It was quiet, had a beautiful view, was a great value, and was within walking distance to everything in the neighborhood and to skiing. Clean and quiet, nestled into the hillside with a great deck for viewing the lake!

The location is great but Mary is not good at communicating essential information like the code to enter the house, or the wifi code. We waited many hours upon arrival before being able to reach her to get the entrance code. We had to wait until the following day to get the wifi code. It made for a stressful weekend instead of the relaxing one that we had anticipated. I don't recommend her rental.

This house was perfect for a private getaway for a few days! A very clean house with every amenity you could ask for, and a beautiful view of the lake! Greg and Mary always responded before and during our trip whenever I had questions. It was a beautiful house and I would recommend it to anyone wanting a little getaway!

This lake house was such an adorable place! The large windows in the living room made it feel like we were in a treehouse! My 9 year old niece loved it :) We had a great stay at this property and would stay again in a heartbeat. Thanks Greg & Mary!
