Places to stay in Jersey City
My place is close to Times Square, the bus stop (on the block), the subway station, Penn Station, and everything Manhattan has to offer. You’ll love my place because of the 20-minute ride to Times Square, the comfy queen-sized bed, the modern renovation, the central heat and air conditioning, and everything the area has to offer. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, business travelers, families (with kids), and big groups.
Please see above.
Long referred to as New York City's "Sixth Borough" because of the quick ride to Manhattan, there is a ton of stuff to do in Jersey City itself. The house is located in Jersey City Heights, just north of Journal Square, which is a more residential neighborhood, but there are plenty of restaurants and local conveniences on Central Avenue, which are listed in the Guidebook for confirmed guests. Jersey City has also become a center for dining and nightlife because the real estate market here is a little more forgiving to entrepreneurs than that of Manhattan. Favorite restaurants include Taqueria Downtown, Porta, and Talde, and bars downtown include Zeppelin Hall Biergarten, Skinner's Loft, and Barcade. Newark Avenue near Journal Square is known "Little Bombay" because of the many South Asian and Indian restaurants that line the street. As it intersects with Grove Street, it becomes a pedestrian-only shopping and dining district that's very pleasant to walk through, especially during the summer. Jersey City Heights specifically is great and is 20 minutes to Times Square by bus and 35 minutes to downtown Manhattan/World Trade Center on the PATH subway line. The Heights sits on top of the NJ Palisades and overlooks Hoboken and the midtown Manhattan skyline, with some of the best views of NYC anywhere. The Heights is mostly single-family houses and includes the Riverview Arts District and a lot of cool new restaurants. It's a five-minute walk to Journal Square (aka "India Square" or "Little Bombay"), which has some of the best Indian food in the Western hemisphere. New zoning laws in the Riverview Arts District allow for live/work spaces, which has made the Heights an attractive neighborhood for artists as Brooklyn has become prohibitively expensive.
  • Great common area.

  • Very easy to get in. Perfect for one or two nights. Very clean! Lyft was cheaper to get there and from there next day to Manhattan. It was exactly as promised would stay again.

  • I want to tell you that during my stay I felt very comfortable and happy. Everything was clean and orderly, the location is excellent, the bus that took me to New York City could take 2 minutes walking and it took 20 min. Ale and Ana very nice always. I recommend this place 100%.

An unfamiliar neighborhood may seem intimidating at first, however once you are a little more acquainted, you begin to see the charm a diverse neighborhood brings. I've lived in this rapidly gentrifying neighborhood for over 15 years and I LOVE it! It is directly across from beautiful Lincoln Park. Lincoln Park is great for walking, jogging, and playing tennis. It is also the home of Jersey City's newest 9 hole golf course.
  • Lovely stay. Nice safe street. Great host. Positive vibes all the way around.

Authentic Jersey City Heights basement studio. The house that sits on top is a classic Jersey City row-house. The walls and columns in the basement were carefully refinished to recreate the original brick work. * Please note the ceilings is relatively low and would best suit guests under 6 feet tall. * There is no oven or kitchen sink. Best for guests who do not plan to cook in the space. * Thirty - forty minutes away from Midtown New York City via bus or train. Come take a break.
The studio is thoughtfully designed for maximum guest comfort in their home away from home. Guests may enjoy Keurig, toaster, and microwave for quick meal prep. There is a dining table, sitting area with coffee table, daybed sofa, smart tv with cable, and bathroom with shower, and of course WIFI! Room comfortably sleeps four: there is one queen size bed, one twin size bed, and one large twin size daybed. Please note there is no oven or kitchen sink for preparing meals. The ceilings are relatively low. The floor to ceiling measures 74 " generally and 67 " in a few places because of the vent. It is comfortable for us, but may not suit travelers who are very tall.
Two blocks away from Central Ave. This is a street full of cheap shopping, restaurants, coffee shops all along the sidewalk. You also will catch the bus to Port Authority in NYC here. There is also Riverview Park park located four blocks away on 498 Palisade Ave. If you want to go for a scenic walk definitely include this! There a farmers market at Riverview Park which is held every Sunday (rain or shine) from the first Sunday in May through the Sunday before Thanksgiving in November, from 10 am to 3 pm.
  • Everything was exactly as advertised. Awesome space to stay at and easy to get anywhere from here. Parking can be a hassle so plan in advance but the hosts and the place were amazing!

  • Great property. Easy to get to, and having our own parking space is a wonderful bonus. Very close to NYC. Manuel was easy to communicate with. Great food locations close by. My ONLY issue is that the memory foam mattress was too firm for me, but everything else was great!

    Leslie2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • We absolutely loved Manuel’s place. It was super clean and comfy. We would uber to the train station, which takes you right into the heart of Manhattan. We’ll definitely be back!

    Kelsey2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • We loved Manuel's place! It was very clean. I saw some of the past reviews that mentioned cleanliness, but we have zero complaints! There was noise from the construction nextdoor. The space was stylish and cozy. We loved having the parking spot. About a 30-40 minute drive to Manhattan depending on traffic. Highly recommend!

    Amber2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • It's great!

    Donald2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • This place went beyond my expectations. From the outstanding hospitality of Manuel and the superb cleanliness of the place. This place is bigger than expected and accommodated all my bf & I’s needs. The bed was comfy and the closet was a walk-in!! What a plus. Bathroom was a decent size, I just noticed that hot water runs out fast - like just enough to do my 15-20 min shower before it starts getting cooler automatically. The living room and kitchen space was so cozy. If you’re bringing groceries, there’s nowhere to really store them but enough counter space to just place on top - and there’s a fridge! Also, bonus: you get to control the temperature from upstairs and downstairs which was good. I have 0 complaints about this place and HIGHLY recommend it. Manuel is a great host and responds quickly. I will be coming back again when I’m in town!

    Karissa2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at this location, Manuel is a fantastic and helpful host. The location is convenient and nearby to many facilities and the place itself is alluring. We will definitely recommend you to visit Jersey City and Manuel's place. If you're looking for a great time/experience, please book with Manuel and enjoy your stay because you definitely will. Thanks for a great experience Manuel, you're a good guy!

  • Clean place, was wonderful!

    Lucas2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Nice place to stay if your visiting the area. It took us about 40 minutes to get from the room to Times Square. We took a subway, a train ride and a Uber. There is a bus we could have took but getting the Uber was faster. Manuel’s place was clean!

  • Such an amazing house, the room was clean, it had 2 double beds, Alan was always willing to help, thanks for helping me, I booked pretty late last night because I had an issue with another reservation and I could book at the last minute, I really recommend this place, thanks Alan for everything :)

    Juan José2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Location was great, close to many shops, and it made going to and from NYC very easy. The bedroom and bathrooms were clean, and Alan responded to our messages immediately! Highly recommend!

    Suvina2019-12-19T00:00:00Z
  • Overall, a good "no frills" place for the money. Alan got all the essentials right. The bed is comfy, the shower gets hot fast, and they are a very communicative host, at a very reasonable price. The location is OK, not amazing if you're looking to be in the city. Lastly, worth noting that your private room shares common space with other Airbnb guests. I had never seen that setup before on Airbnb, so did not expect it, and I could imagine some people being weirded out by that (I'm used to private rooms sharing space with the hosts only). I personally don't mind, but just saying. In our case, we did not even see the other guests, though we could hear them ocassionally.

    Blake2019-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable bed, clean apartment/room/bathrooms, good location (11mins to path station). Host is nice and responsive. Only a few steps to the room which is nice if you’re carrying large amount of luggage. Would recommend.

  • Great location if you need to be close to NYC or overall staying in town. Plenty of shops nearby within walking distance. If you are driving in, the parking space is a LIFE SAVER because we all know city parking can be such a pain. Cozy & comfortable. Everything is clean & well kept. Appreciate the extra space heaters provided, which were definitely put to good use during my stay.

    Jessica2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • Very nicely done 1 BR, 2 bed apartment. Very clean and close to the Journal Square station for easy access to NYC. Good value with provided parking spot in driveway.

  • For the price and location, this place was perfect for our stay in NYC during the week of New Years. The layout is very open so don't expect much privacy but there is plenty of room for 4 people. This place is just a short train ride to downtown.

  • Daniels place was super cozy and tidy, we had fun!!

    Xiang2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • This place was very easy to get to the city. About 10 minute walk (.7 mile) from the PATH train. And then three stops to the WTC. Can easily get to the subways from the WTC stop. The place is in a little town, lots of old houses and duplex’s . Steep set of stairs to get the apartment. Not too nosy. Breakfast places close to the PATH train we stopped before heading into the city. Liquor and beer convenience store one block from the house.

  • Daniel’s place was very clean and cozy. It’s also very well located: the bus stop that’s 2 mins by foot takes you straight to NYC. Thank you

Great for guests who want to visit NYC without paying NYC prices. My place is close to the Journal Square Path Train, a 10-15 minute walk. A post office, banks, 24-hour store, pharmacy, and small local restaurants are nearby where you will find everything you need. You’ll love my place because of the neighborhood, the coziness, and close to Manhattan. My place is good for a couple, solo adventurers, and business travelers.
There is one other private room in the house so you might be sharing the bathroom with up to two other guests. This room is compact with no window, 90 sq.ft. (8.36 square meters). If you want to have more space, I recommend room 1 (125 sq.ft.). Because of the basement, the ceiling is 6 feet 4 inches high.(193 cm) if you are tall, I do not recommend unless you are ok. The kitchen, it is not the real kitchen but you can make simple food in your room.
My neighborhood is very safe. Getting more popular to people. We have nice coffee shops now.
  • Kanami has been one of the best hosts I've ever had from the many years of using Airbnb. From letting me stay on such little notice (since my other place canceled on me last second), to making sure if I needed anything to make me feel welcome and to enjoy my stay. Such great communication and hospitality I highly recommend staying here.

  • Host is very thoughtful and kind! I was very comfortable during my stay and I would definitely recommend this Airbnb. Room is exactly as pictured, everything was clean and fresh. Check-in was easy and the host communication is A++!

    Gabriel2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • The room was clean and well equipped with all the amenities. Above all, Kanami's personality was good and I was able to tell me a lot about NY When going to NY, I would like to stay again.

    又吉2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Kanami picked up at Journal Square Station when checking in. I moved the room and extended the stay, but I was really saved because I was able to get in touch at this time. I heard a lot of my selfishness. I highly recommend it to Japanese people. You can stay with confidence! We were able to go to Manhattan immediately if we got on the past train, and there was supermarket, laundry near, too and was convenient. I also want to stay if I have the opportunity. Thank you very much.

Welcome to the Tiny House in Jersey City! 150 stylish square feet are ready to be your jump-off point for exploring New York City. You'll have a queen-size bed, full bath, outdoor space, kitchenette with mini-fridge and microwave and access to a washer/dryer. PLEASE NOTE: THE ENTRANCE TO THE TINY HOUSE IS ONLY THROUGH AN ALLEY AND A GARAGE. The alley is very safe and calm, but if the idea of going in an alley makes you uncomfortable, then perhaps consider booking elsewhere.
Please don't book and then give a bad review based on the entrance, as I'm making it clear up front how this works. The Tiny House has a great location and offers tremendous bang for your buck. It is in an awesome neighborhood in Jersey City where new restaurants, bars and cafes are opening daily. You're near Hamilton Park and the graceful, tree and brownstone lined streets surrounding it. And to top it all off, you are 30 minutes door-to-door to the World Trade Center and 40 minutes door-to-door to the Empire State Building and Highline. The Tiny House comfortably fits two people, but if you want to pack in three or four people I will provide a very tall and good quality motorized inflatable mattress along with extra sheets, pillows and blankets. Please be aware that when the mattress is inflated, it will be a very tight fit in the room.
Welcome to the Village, the hottest and best neighborhood in Jersey City. The neighborhood is made up of historic brownstones and rowhouses, with glamorous condo building starting to spring up. Beautiful Hamilton park is a few blocks away. Just across the street from the Tiny House, a new restaurant row is forming, anchored by Madame Claude's and the recently relocated Prato Cafe (the delicious cantucci cookies are a must). Further down Newark Ave and towards Grove Street, a host of bars and restaurants await (Porta, Razza and Broa are among the best). Although I'm partial to Prato, 9Bar, Dimes and Lackawanna are all good coffee shops in the area.

  • Amazing experience overall!!! Very thoughtful and had everything we needed. Kristen was also really sweet to us. The place was warm and cozy in the freezing winter. This might be obvious but if you’re from warmer climate visiting JC in winter, the 10-15min walk to path station can be a bit painful

Jersey City Heights, often simply called The Heights, is a pleasant, somewhat densely packed residential neighborhood in the northern section of Jersey City, which in turn is the second largest city in the state of New Jersey. Homes in the area can be most often found in the two- and three-family detached houses which sit on small lots and which dominate the housing stock here, or in the low-rise apartment buildings that also are a considerable presence in the neighborhood. There are also more than a few stately old Victorian and Edwardian houses scattered throughout the streets of the Heights with rental apartments within, especially on Sherman Place and Summit Avenue. Rental apartments in The Heights are generally considered to be located in the area that's bordered to the south by the Bergen Arches rail tracks and The Divided Highway (also known as the Pulaski Skyway, or Route 139); to the east by Palisade Avenue (and the city of Hoboken); to the north by Patterson Plank Road (and Union City); and to the west by John F. Kennedy Boulevard and Nelson Avenue (and the community of Croxton, and the Meadowlands). Jersey City Heights is named, somewhat obviously, for its elevation atop the Palisades, a 20-mile stretch of steep cliffs on the banks of the Hudson River. Because Jersey City Heights apartments stand at the peak of the hills, many area of the neighborhood enjoy fairly spectacular views down over and out onto Hoboken, and the Hudson, and the New York City Midtown and Upper West Side skyline across the water. Residents of Jersey City Heights have several public transportation options available for commuting to work within Jersey City, or Hoboken, or Manhattan, including the Hudson-Bergen Light Rail (which will get you to PATH stations) and New Jersey Transit buses, which travel as far as New York City's Port Authority in Times Square, or to points throughout NJ. The Light Rail travel through the Heights, however there is an elevator that runs along the side of the Palisades that will take you to the station that runs along the western border of Hoboken and downtown Jersey City. Also in the Heights you'll find the Jersey City Reservoir, with its free kayaking days. There is plenty of shopping options and local restaurants for Jersey City Heights apartment residents, with much of the commercial activity on and around the aptly named Central Avenue

  • Great stay!! Pretty easy commute to manhattan if you know your way around. They were great hosts, quick responses.

  • Juan is a super attentive host who responds instantaneously. Great location for access to light rail, Hoboken, Jersey City and NYC.

  • Near Manhattan, good transportation options. Nearby facilities. However I understood that it was a whole apartment and when we arrived there we found a room with shared bathroom. We did not have this information when booking. Maybe it was a translation problem.

  • Juan is a great host, and permanently willing to solve any problem or help the traveler. The place is very comfortable, more spacious than I expected The place is very quiet and pleasant two blocks away there are many shops and all kinds of restaurants and places for breakfast, it is much cheaper than in Manhattan I hope to return on my next trip

  • super host !! very good welcome and the place was perfect

    Laurie2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • Great host, super responsive and nice. Location is good for the price and distance from NY if you don't mind a bus to and from. Just be sure to read the house manual!

    Kevin2019-10-25T00:00:00Z
  • The place was a lot better than I expected. The rules really aren’t as intimidating as everyone says. They are pretty reasonable considering that I wouldn’t be in the apartment all day long until late from traveling to NYC. Great place if you’re looking to stay in jersey mainly, the commute to NYC was a little long but not unreasonable. The place was very clean, cozy and cute. Perfect for single people who like to travel. The only thing I would have personally liked is having a kitchen, but overall it was a great stay. Juan was so helpful and friendly and replied very quickly. Would definitely stay there again.

  • Jon was a great host and was quick to respond. The apartment is a quaint little gem in the middle of jersey city. Safe and affordable for those looking to stay near the city, at a much lower cost. The kitchen and bathroom were beautiful and the bed was comfy. Independent from Jon’s great hospitality and place: we found that there is construction starting intermittently at 8am on the street the apartment is located on, so keep that in mind. Also note that after 6pm on a weekday night there will not be any parking within a 30 minute walk of the apartment, as to be expected but definitely plan accordingly. There is a parking authority down the street Jon will explain, to get you a pass. Be certain they give you the list of streets you can and cannot park on, or you will get a ticket or towed. We enjoyed our stay! Thanks Jon

    Cecilyn2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed here for a weekend trip! There’s a bus stop right across the street that takes you to Manhattan which was really convenient! The area around the apartment was a little sketchy at night, but overall not bad. The apartment is exactly as pictured and it’s very clean!

    Emily2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Clean, stylish 1 bedroom apt. Great views, Great location, and Jon was very communicative and easy to get in touch with. Awesome spot in Jersey City

    Cooper2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Jon’s place is really good! The room is exactly the same as the photos. It’s very convenient here. You can find any type of food in the same street. And there’s bus stop 119 just in front of the building which can take you to manhattan! I really enjoyed staying here and thanks Jon again who always answer my question so fast and solve my problem.

    Pi Ruei2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Clean and safe. Near the city, great areas to eat near by.

    Thomas2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing

    Anthony2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable and clean space. Close enough for a quick lyft to the Hoboken PATH and easy transport to NYC. My only trouble was with finding a place to park at any time during the day, though Jon was super helpful with how to get a permit. Can’t do anything about the city population though! I ended up getting a ticket for being parked during street cleaning, though they’re wasn’t any sign indicating the street cleaning hours where I chose to park, and got a ticket anyway. Just be cautious! Overall fantastic communication, stay, and accommodations on Jon’s part!

  • Exactly as described. Its a basement, you walk in theres a bed to your right, kitchen infront, bathroom to your right and if you walk straight theres a bedroom with a second bed inside. Place looked clean, had free coffee aswell. Only downside is if you want to get to NYC you need to take the PATH train which takes about 25 minutes but sometimes it gets delayed and so it takes longer. Other than that place is a good stay for its price I definitely recommend it.

This is a single room with its own large private bathroom and kitchenette with a microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker and single burner electric stove. This room is beautifully designed by local designers and equipped with a one of a kind hand crafted bed made from local reclaimed wood with a high quality mattress and bedding. It also has matching built in shelving, counter, desk space and a bar stool so you can sit down and read or work on your laptop. Other features of the room include newly refinished hardwood flooring throughout, along with beautiful custom artwork and planters. There is plenty of extra storage space with a very large closet and clothes hangers. Enjoy an extra sense of privacy and security with your own private and extra secure entrance door from the hallway, so no need to go through any common areas to access the room. The clean, stocked kitchen of the adjacent apartment is accessible by guests of this private suite and is shared with 2 other airbnb guests. Stay with ease of mind with our extra secure premises that has a large fence surrounding the property and a deadbolt on your room door. The room is located in a 3 story building that has been designed specifically for the needs of Airbnb guests. Owned and operated by LaTorre family whose roots run through both Italian and East Indian culture, the place has an Ashram vibe with an Industrial Modern twist. In light of this, we strongly support and promote sustainable, green living and used only recycled and eco friendly materials in the remodeling of the building.
The neighborhood is transitioning into a very hip area, and there a large amount of grocery stores, coffee shops, restaurants, bars, liquor stores, banks, gyms, shopping, places of worship, etc in a very short walking distance. We have a great Mexican restaurant right next to our place where you can receive a 10% discount upon proof of your itinerary with us! We are only a few blocks away from St. Peters University and Hudson County Community College, and very close proximity to Jersey City University.
  • This place is sparkling clean, and perfect for a couples getaway! It’s close to the Path train into NYC and plenty of stores/food nearby. Check-in is fast and easy and they respond very quickly to any needs or questions! Would stay here again!

  • The space had everything needed and was comfortable. I was able to find street parking easy enough and the neighborhood seems a bit shabby but all of the locals were friendly and though restaurant options couldn't be described as fancy or chic, the local eateries were good and cheap. The hosts communicated well throughout.

A Large Spacious 3 BR Apt in a beautiful House! Each room has a Queen bed. Cots or Air Mattresses available for large groups. One parking spot on the driveway is reserved for this unit. Steps from a bus to Time Square in 20 minutes. Or Uber to or from Manhattan for $35 in 15 minutes. Equipped with wireless internet, cable TV, washer/dryer, full kitchen with refrigerator, microwave, kettle, coffee maker. If you need help, you can always text or message me. I live near by in NYC!
Brand new furniture and everything you need to make your stay comfortable. There's cable TV (make sure to turn on the cable box) and high speed internet. There's also a smart end table, where you can plug your phone and play some music. Washer/Dryer too!
I don't know the immediate neighborhood that well as I'm from Manhattan. For food, for those without cars, seamless.com or postmates.com is convenient. You can use postmates.com for grocery deliveries too. If you're desperate there is a 24 hour mini convenience store at the gas station a block away from the apt. Just walk to Kennedy blvd. Jaritza (1085 Summit ave) is a small supermarket within walking distance. For local transportation, Uber or Lyft is great. Or the bus at Kennedy Blvd right in front of the gas station (catch that to Manhattan in 20-30 min) for $3.25. Hoboken and Grove Street are very fun spots if you don't feel like making a trip to Manhattan. A cheap Uber or car ride away if you have your own car. Use Google Maps for directions (download the offline maps if you don't have internet).
  • Great value in a good location. Would stay again if I am in the area!

Minutes away from Downtown Jersey city but far enough to be away from the hustle and bustle of the city. TRANSPORTATION: There are many ways into NYC some are shorter in Time than others and depending on where in NYC your trying to get to. TRAIN: 1) you can order an uber/Lyft to the Journal Square Path Station. It's about a 5-10 ride and will not cost more that $10.00. Once you reach the path station you can take the 33rd Street train or the World Trade Center train. Once your on the train you'll be either uptown or downtown in 15-20 mins. 2) We have had many people walk from the apartment to the Journal Square Path Train station. BUS: 1) When you exit the apartment building, if you go up the hill to the corner then cross the street to the bus stop; there you can get on the 119 bus which takes you to the Port Authority Bus Terminal in heart of TIME SQUARE. Once your on the bus it should take about 25-35 minutes depending on traffic and the time of day. 2) when you leave the apartment and walk down the hill to the corner of the street you can catch the #80 bus that takes you to the Journal Square Path Train station. The bus ride from the corner to the train station is about 15 mins. UBER and Lyft: 1)There are may Ubers and Lyft cars/trucks in the area. If you are going to downtown NYC by Ground Zero it will take you about 15 minutes to get there, if you are going uptown towards Time Square it will take about 20-30 minutes depending on traffic. 2) you can take an Uber to Liberty State Park and see the Statue of Liberty (less than 10 minutes away) and hop into a ferry/boat that will cross you to Manhattan. REMINDER: I write this because it came up with past guest. If you plan your trip around any holidays, travels may take a bit longer. From Thanksgiving to New Years there's literally MILLIONS of people that come from all over the world to visit NYC so traveling may take a bit longer.

Bright and sunny private bedroom in a house a 2 minute walk from the Journal Square PATH Train Station. 15 minutes to Manhattan. Nice, quiet area with great restaurants & grocery stores. Beautiful large house newly renovated. Large kitchen with all brand new appliances. All brand new furniture. Huge backyard with patio set & lawn. The house is shared with 5 other airbnb rooms. The house is cleaned daily. Cable TV and free coffee is provided. I am available by email, phone, or text 24-7. Thanks!
  • This place is great for a visit to NYC ! Nice room with lock, comfy bed, desk, dresser, hangers. bright windows..great place to spend a week going back and forth to the city. PATH train station is a few minute walk...!5 or 20 minute ride into Manhatten. Also goes directly to Penn Station to get on Amtrak. Or connects to NY subway system. Nice big house, kitchen to use, and shared batnhroom (there are two) with several other AirBnB rooms. Never met Erik, but he gave complete instructions on how to do check-in, and other info. I'd stay here again. (only issue is the sink clogs and drains slowly. In the upstairs bathroom) Love spending six nights for price of one in a NYC hotel...:)

  • Amazing place for a great price! Second time staying here, would recommend to anyone trying to visit NY since the Path train is a short walk away.

  • This spot was perfect for my first stay in Jersey. It is literally a few blocks away from the train station, I managed to find free street parking for my car right near the house, the room was a great size and comfy, there are tons of little shops a few blocks away, and overall the detailed message I got from Erick was exceptional. The best description of the place and things to do in the area I’ve ever received before. I would definitely stay here again. My only suggestion would be having a trash can in the room and slightly updating the bathroom. Other than that I loved it!!!

    Alyssa2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Very close to the Journal Square train station. I drove a car. I parked in the public parking lot two doors down from the airbnb. Using the website ON AIR PARK, it cost $6.25 for 24 hours to park. The room is on the third level. Small area staircase leading up the last set of stairs. Could be a little difficult with large suitcases. Room is clean. Bed is stiff but comfortable. Bed is a little noise with its metal and spring frame. Good stay.

    Luther2020-01-07T00:00:00Z
  • Literally the best airbnb close to NY city. Very close to PATH station.

    Alfred2019-12-25T00:00:00Z
  • The place is very convenient if you’re looking to stay in Journal Square and taking the Path train. Easy check in and nice backyard to sit and relax. Looking forward to stay on my next trip to Jersey!

  • We had a great time! Thank you to the Eco-Friendly house staff for everything. We appreciated all of the amenities included. The house itself is about 5-10min walk from Journal Square Train Station which made it pretty easy to get around. It isn't situated in the nicest/safest part of Jersey City to be at night but the house itself feels very secure to be in. I reccomend planning alternate transportation at night then just walking or taking the train. Overall it's a great stay with very friendly staff and clean and aesthetically pleasing environment.

  • Stan's place was perfect! From the beautiful kitchen layout, to the comfortable bed, gorgeous standing lamps.. it all feels like a home away from home. Would definitely come back for a stay in the future!

    Eunice2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • A stylish place that is close to the essentials and a gym that I utilized often. The PATH train was in walking distance or a quick 5 minute uber in a pinch. I would absolutely stay here again, Stan was responsive, kind and helpful throughout my 2 month stay.

    Michael2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Nice location - close to bus stops for traveling into NYC, cleanly space, and Stan was quick to communicate back. Wonderful stay.

  • Stan’s apartment is very modern and has all the amenities you need for your stay. There is convenient parking in front of the building, a little tight if you have a larger car. The neighborhood is quiet and a convenient location to the path. The TV includes a Roku so you can use it to log into any site.

  • Great apartment and a great host. Everything there is as described in the site. I would highlight the comfortable double bed in the room. The heat system also worked very well, even during the cold nights. I intend to book Stan apartment again when I return to New York.

My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travelers.
There is one other private room in the house so you might be sharing the bathroom with up to two other guests. The room is around 125 sq.ft. (11.6 square meters). Because of the basement, the ceiling is 6 feet 4 inches high (193 /cm) if you are tall, I do not recommend unless you are ok. The kitchen, it is not the real kitchen but you can make simple food in your room.
Quiet, everyone knows everyone. That I like it. My neighborhood is very safe. Getting more popular to people. We have nice coffee shops now.
  • We stayed in this room for over a week and sincerely loved it. The room is cozy and beautiful (really cool art), the space very cleverly utilised: it's both spacious and has everything you need. Both common areas and room are spotless. It's such a quiet street and comfy beds, we slept really well every single night. Location is excellent with everything within short walking distance. And Kanami is just the best host, helped us so much with our relocation, from local tips to finding a flat! We felt at home right away and we are really grateful she hosted us. Only bad thing is we were sad to leave the room!

  • Great place for the price, close to easy commute to ny

    Soumyadip2020-01-24T00:00:00Z
  • Kanami is very hospitable and her place is conveniently located for NYC visitors. We hope to be back soon!

    Erin2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Place is a hreat value to stay for NYC travellers. Around 40 mins to WTC and 70 mins to time square. The way to the path train station feels kind of unsafe if you follow google map. Another longer way feels much safer with only 20 mins to the trains. The wall in the place is thin that you may hear neighbors from all directions. Something on the wall vibrates every night around 8-9pm. The host is so friendly!! She even offered us a ride to Manhatten! And during the new year' eve

    Jiaxuan2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Kanami's place was exactly what we needed at the price we needed. Kanami was very informative about how to get to the place and what to do. Also, kanami replied very quickly to any questions we had! We would definitely stay again.

    Abbey2019-12-07T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place to rest, lots of cleanliness and order, near the train station to travel to Manhattan. I had no problem during my entire stay. 100% recommendable

    Gerardo2019-11-21T00:00:00Z
  • Kanami’s Airbnb is a great stay for anyone looking to visit NYC without the bustle of actually being in the city. It is very close (walking distance!) to the train to take you into NYC and we felt safe walking around day and night. Free roadside parking was definitely a bonus! The room was clean and had everything we needed, plus it was super cute! Kanami provides a map outlining nearby stores and is very quick to respond and is friendly. The beds are comfy and the neighborhood is quiet. I would definitely stay again next time I’m in NYC!
