“Fantastic beer and food in an historic inn with a lovely outdoor seating area overlooking the approach to the solent. This pub is walkable from the Chalet, it takes about 45 minutes to an hour but is absolutely not suitable for pushchairs or those with limited mobility! If you do tackle the walk however you will be treated to stunning views from Culver Down and at low tide you can walk down to the beach at Whitecliff Bay and take the route along the beach and over the rock pools. The walk there is easier then the walk back, and the bus from Bembridge is an option for the return journey. If you drive there is ample car parking around the pub both in the (Small) car park and the surrounding area. Booking would be advisable for food.”

Italian Restaurant

“Bonchurch Inn is quirky, no frills but the Italian food served is the best on the Island having been prepared by the family owners. I recommend the Spinach Canneloni with a good bottle of red wine. Friendly welcome, Courage beer in kegs behind the bar, a few locals-reserve a table in the main bar. Not suitable for very young children although in the Summer months you can sit outside comfortably for lunchtimes.”

“Great food, atmosphere and with outside tables to watch the boats come in at the Yacht Club and the sun go down in the horizon. Stop here for a drink or make the most of the lovely location with a bite to eat. Perfect for lunch or dinner. I would recommend booking a table well in advanced for dinner though as it can get very busy - but you might be lucky with getting a table outside!”
