2nd visit this year, as always fabulous warm and welcoming hosts and a lovely wee cozy cottage in a great location, definitely be back in 2018 :)

Alasdair had the stove lit for our arrival, plus fresh flowers, which was very welcoming! An approachable and amenable host and it was a pleasure to stay here. The cottage has everything you need for a comfortable stay except perhaps a table to sit at for meals? We were Bunchie's first Airbnb guests, although he is obviously a seasoned host. It was lovely to be able to bring our Westie with us, and he loved the beaches! Thanks, Alasdair!

We stayed here during a short break on Tiree. Bunchy and Rhona were very friendly, helpful hosts. The accommodation was very good with views across the island and sea and decking in the sun. It's a short stroll to some small sandy bays, which our dog loved. Scarinish is a good location for exploring the rest of the Island from, and has the benefit of local amenities including a Co-op, bar and fish mongers van, and of course close proximity to the sea!

Lovely little cottage. Ideal location as just off the ferry and really handy having the Co-op nearby. We took our dog Archie who was made very welcome. Beach a 2 min walk from the cottage and nice sights of sheep and their lambs grazing right by the cottage.

We had a fantastic week in this perfect little cottage. Very comfortable with everything we needed to make us feel at home. Well situated for exploring all the beautiful beaches of Tiree which is a very special place, We loved sitting on the bench to the front enjoying our breakfast and the sea views and also relaxing on the decking area when the sun was shining in the afternoons. Would love to visit again.

THis is a lovely place to stay and very close to the Coop for buying provisions.

Alastair' solace is clean, tidy, pleasant and comfortable in a beautiful setting with the ocean immediately across the road. It's close to the ferry, the co-op, the pub and the museum.

What an amazing house and superb views. We had the most fantastic holiday. Martin and Iona next door run the amazing 'Blackhouse' water sports centre. Jen welcomed us into the house despite us arriving early. We will definitely be back! Thank you Robbie.

We really enjoyed our stay at Patrick's place. The beds were very comfortable . The view was spectacular and we really enjoyed walks along the beach .

This is a fantastic house in a great location, only a few minutes walk from a beautiful and secluded beach. Patrick was extremely helpful and quick to respond to any queries.

This is a stunning house on a stunning island. Really well equipped with very comfy beds and the best views. Very helpful and welcoming host. Great place for walking, surfing, known as the sunniest and the windiest place in the west of Scotland.

We had a fantastic stay in this beautiful house. Patrick was extremely welcoming and responded almost immediately to every message. The home literally felt like a home from home- fully equipped with everything you need to ensure a great stay. I cannot recommend this house highly enough- we would love to return in the future.

Great e-mail and text message contact with Patrick before we arrived on Tiree. His messages were personal and friendly, so we felt very much that he wanted us to feel at home in his wonderful house.

We unfortunately did not make it to Tiree over the New Year period due to ferries being cancelled. However, Patrick was quick at responding to all e-mails and gave us a full refund. We would definitely consider booking the house again, as we have heard lovely things about Tiree.

We had a lovely stay at Iona's clean, well-equipped cottage, close to the ferry, close to the Co-op and to several beaches. Perfect for families or surfers, with a superb drying room should the Atlantic weather kick in as it did when we were there! Don't count on fast broadband or a mobile phone connection, but actually that's another thing that makes it so special! Will hopefully be back and would love to stay here again.

My friend and I stayed with our two boys and two girls ages 10 and 13. We found it was the perfect place for our trip. It is a lovely house with enough space for the boys to kick a football and a great wee beach close by. We spent most of our days learning to surf with Blackhouse Watersports at Balevullin bay which was only 10 mins by car through gorgeous Tiree scenery. The laundry room is great for hanging up wetsuits etc. Loved sitting out on the deck watching the sun set. We'll be back!

Gorgeous house, lovely host, fantastic views, beautiful island.

Keepers Cottage has been modernised to a high standard with great bathrooms and kitchen. The kitchen was well kitted out. But most importantly the windows are in all the right places for wonderful views and make the house very light and spacious. Iona was hugely helpful with all our endless queries beforehand and during our stay.

Keeper's Cottages was a great place to stay. Three is a small island but there was walking access to lovely beaches, a hotel, small supermarket and a good bus service. The house was lovely, very spacious and very comfortable. We stayed for the Half Marathon/10k weekend which was great fun, Keeper's Cottages was a good location for that weekend.

If you need peace, comfort and space both in the flat and the surrounding countryside, this is the place to find it. The flat has everything you could want or need in it and has a really good location right on the shore.

Know these guys from bringing group tours to Coll for Basking Shark trips (Basking Shark Scotland). We rented it for the week for our staff & guests. Great location on the main street and views over the loch.

The best place to stay if you want to explore Coll. Close to restaurants and shops and a small trip to the perfect beaches.

Cosy and comfortable really enjoyed the storm pod

We loved the storm pod! We are a family of six with a dog and there was enough space for everyone, and the location was just stunning. The secret beach 10 minutes' walk away was a particular highlight. Clara was great to deal with and we absolutely fell in love with Coll, and will definitely be back. This is a real find - remote, beautiful and a perfect getaway (with no phone reception, which was blissful!).

The island of coll is really a good place to relax and enjoy life. You can dive do bicycle run. Beaches are incredible and the people very nice. We spent there 2 very nice days. The place where we stayed was very nice very clean and the light is amazing. We found marmalade done by Clara when we arrive and we appreciated it very much. Thank you again Clara and John Allan

We've had such a fantastic trip to Coll. Clara was an unbelievably great host and could not do enough for us. We had a wonderful stay in the storm pod, as a group of 4 there was enough space and stunning views to enjoy. It had all the amenities we needed and it was super clean. We also loved our welcome gift which was a jar of homemade marmalade. Coll was just what we needed to get away from it all and we have had the best time!!! We hired bikes to explore the island and some of the beaches were out of this world - we had them all to ourselves! Highly recommend this place to anyone looking to recharge. It was brilliant!

A fabulous spot on a wonderful island. The pod is very comfortable and we'd certainly come again. Clara was on hand to make sure we were settled in and everything was very easy. The village shop is rather limited so suggest visitors ensure they bring some provisions, but the Coll Hotel does good meals and the cafe is very welcoming.

Great view out onto the Atlantic. 15 minute walk to village using the high road (track) and 20 minutes using low road (tarmac).

Fiona and Jim were very friendly and helpful. The location was great and the modern amenities were excellent. We would love to return someday.

Can highly recommend this for a stay, the hosts went out of their way to make me feel welcome. They struck the perfect balance of leaving you to enjoy your trip and being there when needed. The apartment was spotless, well furnished and stocked with the little things that make a difference on a self catering trip (seasonings, tea bags etc). It's a 15/20min walk into the village and it's 5mins away from a beautiful beach. The lounge has fabulous views of the island and sunsets, and there were some lovely local books and maps to help add to your stay. Can't ask for anything more!

A very special place... with a warm, friendly and helpful welcome. Fiona's place is very comfortable, well equipped and tastefully furnished and decorated. Stunning views to the West. 5 minutes walk to beautiful beaches and a lovely 15 minute easy walk to the village. It's worth allowing enough time to explore this amazing island.

A wonderful place to stay on Iona. Clean, comfortable and spacious with a glorious view of the "Bay at the back of the ocean". Fiona and her family are the ideal hosts. Nothing was too much trouble, and we especially appreciated the little "extra touches" when we arrived and lifts to and from the ferry. We couldn't recommend this accommodation more highly.

The house was beautiful , very clean and modern. Views from living room were outstanding. Iona is just stunning, and we could have definetely stayed longer than our 2 nights. Trip to Staffa and fingal's cave was magical, and spotted many seal families on the way. Fiona and Jim were very helpful, and kindly picked us up and dropped us off at ferry. My daughter Poppy made great friends with their daughter. Beautiful , peaceful island. Would highly recommend this beautiful sanctuary of a house.

Had a fantastic stay on Iona at Torassa. Sara is an exceptionally friendly and helpful host who goes above and beyond to ensure you have a superb stay. Accommodation is excellent, good hot shower, comfortable bed, additional spacious lounge to use and delicious cooked breakfasts as well as amazing views towards Mull. Would highly recommend!

Wonderful setup, sweet bedroom and private bath with a large living room. Sarah is such a kind and responsive host, we felt very taken care of in so many ways. I cannot recommend highly enough.

Sara made us feel very welcome. We had a lovely guest lounge available as well as our own room and ensuite. The breakfasts were wonderful - couldn't ask for better. Also Sara was very helpful, with information about the island and other thoughtul things.

My wife and I had a great 2-night stay at Sara's B&B on Iona. We caught the last ferry and hiked up to the B&B (a pleasant 20 minute walk along the shore and up the hill slightly). The building is clean, updated, has great views of the water, and is quiet and comfortable. The house is divided between the B&B side, which includes several en-suite guest rooms and a dining area and lounge, separated by a door from Sara's residence. The entry hall has a bookshelf with books to borrow during your stay. Sara is a very casual and friendly host, inviting us to ring the bell at her private end of the house whenever we needed anything. Breakfast was terrific--options included everything from basic cereals, fruit, and yogurt to full Scottish breakfasts. The B&B is a little bit out of the main town area, but really not very far at all, and we liked the fact that we were away from the tourists and pilgrims just visiting the island for the day. I would strongly recommend staying here.

Everything was fantastic! Sara picked us up from the ferry and was very accommodating and helpful for our entire stay. I have been going to Iona for years and years but I'm sure had it had been my first time Sara would have had loads of suggestions of where to go and what to see. Room was immaculate and cleaned daily. Breakfast was delicious and she was very flexible. The views from the house were excellent over the island and the sound of Iona. Will definitely be coming back and highly recommend Torassa!

Sarah's house is fantastic. The view is unbelievable. And breakfast is delicious. Everything was excellent especially those sheep around the house.

We had a splendid couple of nights in Andrew's backyard, enjoying the sheep and the cows. The sunset was magical and the pod was clean and comfortable.

Staying the night at Andrew's little cozy pod was the ultimate gateaway from the busy city life and university stress. Me and my boyfriend booked this pod last minute the night before our trip to Iona and were not aware that we had to book the ferries in advance from oban to mull then mull to iona. We had to wait in the unbooked queue hoping they would let us through and called Andrew to let him know of our situation. Andrew was very helpful and understanding and reassured us that there is a very high possibility that we would get through the queue to the ferry. We were lucky enough to get through and reached Andrew's pod by 7pm. Andrew was very welcoming and as the pod was not booked the next day, he kindly provided us with a later than usual check out which was great as that gave us more time to explore Iona. The pod was very comfy and cosy, perfect for our one night stay. The location of the pod was also ideal as it was surrounded by a beautiful scenery of the hills and the sea. The isle of iona is unbelievably breathtaking with it's amazing scenic views. Will definitely come back again!

Great stay in the pod and horsebox with 3 young kids in tow. A real adventure for them and Iona a fantastic place to escape to.

The eco-pod was a fantastic place to stay even during wintertime on Iona. It was cozy and warm, with a kettle and tea, and extra sleeping bags. The view is fantastic and it's in a great location for walks around the island. Since we went over the Christmas holidays nothing was open on the island except a Spar, but the hosts lent us a camping stove to cook on, which worked great! We would definitely return.

Stephen gave us a warm welcome at this beautiful place which i do not hesitate to heartily recommend to anyone wishing to visit Iona. The room was lovely and bright and has a unique view as it looks onto the medieval nunnery. Stephen was kind enough to a leave a bottle of wine for us on arriving and we certainly made best use of this nice gesture. While staying here you are mere minutes walk from the Abbey and restaurants and shops. All in all a fantastic experience. Perfect

This was a perfect experience. Stephen was kind, informative, funny and shared information about life on Iona. The location is brilliant with an amazing view of the 1000 year old nunnery outside the window. Everything worked for this journey: incredible location, a warm and welcoming host and some very entertaining dogs! Our time on Iona will be a highlight of our Scotlsnd travels. Brilliant. Mark is so lovely we loved staying in his house. The room was perfect and we really appreciated extra touches like the wee chocolate easter eggs and the beautiful Iona blanket to snuggle in. Would recommend most highly and we hope to go back and stay (URL HIDDEN)

Stephen has a great central location for ease to the ferry, the abbey, and the shops & amenities in town. We appreciated being able to use the kitchen & having tea & coffee available, and especially getting to chat with Stephen about the Iona Community and life on the island! P.S. If you get stuck in the bathroom, don't panic. Just push hard on the door while you turn the key. :)

Extremely helpful with everything & full of advice about the local area. Helped us to sort out a couple of things that had gone awry! Beautiful little place to stay on Iona, would definitely recommend.

Jann's place is lovely - she wasn't there when we arrived but we managed to work out where it was and let ourselves in. The room was inviting and clean - really lovely. We had everything we needed, including a heater for drying out wet things. The breakfast muffins Jann makes are super tasty and her house is great. It was perfect for exploring all over Iona as it's basically right in the middle of the island - 20-30 mins to all the shops, restaurants and the abbey. Not far from some great beaches too. There were sheep and lambs all over the place in June and they were a lot of fun to watch from the window, but mostly we were outside on beautiful Iona. Jann let us stay after the checkout time as there was no one else coming in that day - this really helped out as we didn't have to cart our bags around all day and we could even have a quick shower after swimming in the sea! Thanks for a great stay!

Jann's place is an enjoyable walk from the ferry, abbey etc. It's everything you could ask for in a trip to Iona - a peaceful and beautiful place to stay, surrounded by nature. The room was spotlessly clean, bright and spacious and we felt most welcome from start to finish.

Lovely home, the room was super clean. Maybe the most comfortable bed we've ever had. We had great weather so enjoyed walking around the island though we did use the taxi returning from dinner. Communication was very easy and detailed. Good simple breakfast. The views are wonderful.

Jann's place is the best! Warm and welcoming. Comfy home (and bed)! A chiller breakfast nook and a great view. A 15 minute walk (if spry) into town which brings you to the three restaurants and one breakfast + lunch cafe. A 25ish minute walk to the abbey. Jann was incredibly communicative and hospitable. She sent a thorough list of information about the island prior to arrival so we had plenty of time to reserve restaurants and tours.

A delightful home to return to from our walks around the island. Lovely, generous hosts. We enjoyed being awakened by the sound of ewes calling to their lambs outside the back window. The walk from the ferry dock to the house took us fully half an hour, but we were rolling two bags and we're not youngsters. For the return trip, we chose to call the cab. For all other trips, including the evening service at the Abbey, we found the walk to the house very easy and enjoyable.

Didn't get to meet Zoe during our flying visit, but she communicated well with us through the App and by leaving a note. The campsite is in a great spot in the middle of the island. Would recommend for anyone wanting the fresh air approach to staying in this magical place - even if the weather can be a little unpredictable!

What a brilliant idea! When the wind and rain came in the middle of the night we were really pleased that someone else had put our tent up! We were cosy and dry and woke up to a lovely sunny day. We were in a meadow of buttercups and clover, listening to Corncrakes, and with our own picnic table. Zoe was really friendly and welcoming.

Zoe was not able to greet us but her colleague did. The camp site was nice but located a bit farther up the road than expected. There was a small communal kitchen and bathroom. The host provided a tent and sleeping bags . The kitchen and bathroom could have been cleaner but considering it is a camp site the level of cleanliness was expected

Zoe's campsite is an idyllic little site, beautifully maintained and perfect for families and unruly toddlers to explore! She is incredibly welcoming and helpful, we had a fantastic stay. I stayed with my almost 2 year old in one of the pre-pitched tents- it was immaculate, and the indoor kitchen area was a blessing during the wet weather. Lovely hot showers and beautiful views, utterly serene. Can't wait to be back :)

Iona campsite is in an idyllic and quiet spot on the beautiful island of Iona. We very much enjoyed our stay, a great alternative to having to carry our own tent. The kitchen and shower facilities were both good. Perfect base for walks, visiting the Abbey and enjoying this lovely island.

Perfect! The campsite is just a gem with a friendly vibe. The tent and roll mats were in great condition and the sleeping bags were clean and smelled fresh. The fact that the tent had been assembled for us just took all the hassle out of the trip, so all we had to do was pop up our camping chairs and relax! The campsite had a small indoor kitchenette with a sink, microwave and kettle, so we didn't have to use our camping stove. We didn't use the fire pit as we had brought disposable BBQs, but it looked like it would have been a great spot to sit around with a group of friends. Zoe's partner Glen provided us with lots of helpful information about the island, including where to find the best beach. All in all an incredible island camping experience - we'd love to come back to the campsite and enjoy beautiful Iona again.

Zoe was incredibly warm and friendly. She was coming down to meet us at the ferry but we ended up meeting her at the nearby pub which was just as convenient! She knew who she was looking for so she recognized us right away which made us feel very welcomed. The tent was already pitched and ready for us to set up the roll out mats and sleeping bags which were also provided. Also, a place to plug our phones in was provided which was appreciated. My only regret was not seeing Zoe again after our arrival. Though she had plenty of pamphlets set out at the front entrance of her house (very professionally) I would have loved to have said goodbye.

It was a spontaneous idea to visit Iona and it was the best what ever we could do. Louise wellcomes us so friendly and warm at this wonderfull place. I can't discribe the traditionell, comfortable and beatifull home which we could share. Thank's so much. We give our best wishes and greetings also to the youngest man on the Island!

Louise home is a wonderful place to stay! We had only two nigths and thought that its too less to get to know the Isle. Everything is very familious and Louise and her family is so friendly! We gonna come back!

Our stay here was quite enjoyable. Very friendly and communicative hosts. It was great to be able to eat breakfast in their beautiful breakfast room while literally being able to watch the ferry approach the island step outside and board it (yet proximity to a ferry dock in no way impacted the beauty of the home or property). Some general thoughts for anyone staying on Iona: make reservations ahead of time for dinner, the abbey (and most everything) is a very short walk but be careful about getting lost in the swampy hills to the south.

Iona cottage is a great place to stay on the island. You see that beautiful white house already from the shore of Island if Mull while boarding on a ferry to Iona, and it gives you home feelings and sweet anticipation of reaching far away place after a ling journey. Louise is a great host. She provides you with super breakfast, ironed bed sheets, fruits and all possible information about nice places to go for a walk or helps to choose and book a good place to have dinner. It is very special to stay at Iona cottage. don't miss a chance

Louise was very kind to us. The communication was quick and easy, the room was very quiet and comfortable, and breakfast was fantastic. Louise's home is easy to find off the ferry as well. We loved Iona and wish we had stayed longer.

Beautiful location on an exquisite and fascinating island. The host was accommodating, informative and extremely helpful.. I have no negatives about our stay and would certainly recommend it to anyone thinking of staying.

Located next to gorgeous white beaches, great to be brought a glass of wine for the hot tub, the room shower was looovely, and very kind to take my keys to the pier when I'd forgotten them!!

Visiting Gometra was very special the only problem was our stay was not long enough with just 2 nights! It is challenging to reach, walking 7 miles with all your kit but well worth getting there. If time allows you, stay for a few days so you can really explore.

It was absolutely beautiful! I stayed in Teacher's Cottage (the word bothy sounds way too basic, I think) for four nights to get away from it all. And that's what it was... The cottage offers far more coziness and comfort than I expected, with all its little details. I found a teapot, a hot water bottle, enough kitchenware to prepare my brought food, etc. And how much more exciting my mostly dried food got with the addition of some tinned tomatoes or sweet corn from the honesty shop/gallery! Thanks to Rhoda for offering that. The "living room" warms up nicely once the fire is burning. And the joy of running a hot bath with water heated by fire! My time on Gometra was truly idyllic and it was worth the effort of getting there a thousand times!

The bothy was perfect. Only it takes some time to get warm water. Rhoda is a good hostess. We came on our mtb's. The pathy can be very muddy, we enjoyed it. Also our stay was perfect.

Few times in life do you discover something truly unique, but on Gometra I did! For many of us journeys are purely a means of getting to a place, but the journey to Gometra is so much a part of the experience and once there, the Teacher's Bothy is a stunning place, so well managed and maintained that you feel that within this place you have reached your own 'desert island'. It is worth the effort of getting there? a 1000 times over YES! I would even say, make the journey an effort and leave the car behind. Take a train to Oban, a ferry to Mull, a bus to Salen and then walk the 10 miles to Ulva Ferry along Loch na Keal, because when you finally reach Gometra and the Bothy, after 7 miles of walking across Ulva, you will laugh out loud in delight. Gometra is a special island unlike any other to stay on as you are not surrounded by tourists and really can hear all the sounds of the sea and birds with no voices or footsteps and again the silence. It's a real island experience. It's rocky balsalt hills are stunning as is the beach with all its shells, beach combing is perfect here. You really experience a sense of the moment with the tides, amazing skies and landscape.

Well worth the walk, a little piece of heaven. Stunning, special, & surreal. Don't hesitate just go. Teachers Bothy is looking lovely with really nice wee touches throughout. Cannae recommend this place enough.

Brilliant place to stay would recommend staying for week to get a true feel of the island. Hope to get back soon.

We would recommend staying with Cathy, lovely place and location, the only problem was with wifi, we would appreciate it being available in our rooms.

Great accommodation in good location for walking and swimming. Warm and cosy. Do take milk bread and basic food stuff as shop closes at 6pm. We bought a lobster from the seafood at the pier and cooked it for dinner one night, other nights we ate in the pub, great food and then had takeaway fish and chips from the pub also fantastic, ate them.I. The car as the midges were out in force. Wonderful couple is days.

Cottage is as described. We found it very clean, with a well-equipped kitchen. Beds were very comfortable. Location is by the ferry to Iona so benefits from the bus service serving it. There are 4 busses a day to and from Craignure (summer 2017), which ran on time and the drivers were very helpful. Ffionphort is tiny, but has a pub and shop. We had to pass sheep and highland cattle on the footpath! Michael & Cathy gave us a warm welcome. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

If you’re looking for peace and relaxation this is the perfect place. Tastefully furnished, more than adequately equipped and literally a 10 minute walk to the ferry for Iona. The icing on the cake is that nothing is too much trouble for Cathy & Mike - perfect hosts. Definitely on our list to return.

What a gem this lovely Airbnb is. My kids and I enjoyed ourselves so much. Cathy and Mike were so helpful at EVERY turn and in every way. They made brilliant suggestions for tours and outings. They always made time to help us, and always with kindness. We look forward to our return visit.

Cathy's house is in a great location, about 60 seconds walk from the Ferry terminal, pub, shop and beach at Fionnphort. The house was perfect and really clean when we arrived, plenty of space for the three of us. What amazed me the most was what incredible value this was, it was so affordable and what a location to enjoy a long weekend visiting Mull, Iona and Staffa. Such a spectacular part of Scotland, we'll definitely be back.
