“Norfolk's leading marine rescue centre, the seal hospital is busy all year round caring for sick and injured seal pups until, whenever possible, they are well enough to be returned to the wild.”

“Old Hunstanton was originally a fishing village which dates back to AD 855 when St. Edmund was shipwrecked here. Now it is a sought after coastal holiday village which is only a mile from the livelier seaside resort of Hunstanton. There is a huge sandy beach and cliffs at Old Hunstanton which makes it popular with families, dog walkers and kite-surfers throughout the year. It is also home to the highly regarded Hunstanton championship golf course which is situated behind the dunes to the east of the village. There is a good choice of local places to eat and drink with The Lodge hotel and bar, Le Strange Arms, the Michelin starred Neptune restaurant and an excellent village shop/deli. The bustling seaside town of Hunstanton is close by with its wider range of shops, Sealife Centre, funfair, amusements, bowling, swimming pool, theatre and crazy golf.”

“One of those beaches that locals in the know refer to as one of Norfolk's best kept 'secrets'. If the main beach in Hunstanton is a touch too bustling for your tastes then go a little further along the north Norfolk coast to Old Hunstanton. ”

“It's just at the top of the road, they do good gastro pub food (the steak sandwich is ace, so is the Sunday roast) and show sport. ”

“Walk along the beach for breakfast, past the beach huts at Hunstanton. They have everything from proper full english (including with homemade bubble and squeak) and bacon butties to great vegan combinations. If you are walking the dogs, they are welcome too. Visit the new Lifeboat Station afterwards - you can see the hovercraft - one of only 4 being used in the UK. It saves lives - rescuing people from the marsh and the sand dunes when they fail to keep an eye on the tides and get stranded. ”
