  • The most charming house in a picturesque location!

    Chris2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is quirky with lots of character and history in a beautiful location. I had a wonderful stay here. Heath is fantastic and very helpful, I’d highly recommend this cottage

    Lizzie2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Heath was a fantastic host! From the moment of booking we were contacted within the hour with details of checking in and directions etc. Heath kept in contact each step of the way, this was our first airbnb stay, so didn't know what to expect, but Heath pulled out all the stops to make our night away a pleasure. The cottage is a little hidden gem and ultra cosy! We had just the one nights stay and felt like it was a home away from home, everything clean and sparkling. We specifically loved the artwork throughout the house, along with an array of books and games that kept us entertained on a dark winters night. Everything was perfect, a testament to a good host. We hope to stay again in the future! Ashley and Katie

  • What a find. A very quirky, rustic place of tranquility. A very warm and cosy place in spite of the wind and some rain. Everything you need ( in fact more than enough Dvds, games and books ) . Some great walks locally and 2 great pubs. I ate at the Red Lion which was cosy, friendly and good pub food.

    Jan2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • A great place to stay and Heath is a brilliant host, with excellent local knowledge. We loved our stay here and would love to come back again

    Mark2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Only had one night at heaths but I loved it! The cottage is full of interesting bits and pieces. Lots of interesting books to browse and a well equipped kitchen. Heath is only round the corner for any questions and you might be lucky and get his cat as a visitor! The place is so quaint and charming. There is a pub literally down the lane but I did not get chance to check it out. If you like a walk/run I did a great 10k loop round digley reservoir which is only 10mins drive away. I will definitely be back with more time to explore.

    Sam2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • An amazingly quirky place to stay. From the decor to the animals, Heath's property is quite an experience. He's exceedingly helpful and knowledgeable about the area. Could have easily spent weeks here with how much there is to do in the surrounding area. Holmfirth is full of great food, views, and experiences. Not a dull moment here! Thanks for a great stay, we'll have to come back soon!

    Kyle2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely loved our stay! The cottage is beautiful with lovely rustic features like exposed brick throughout the cottage. Heath is a great host and made us feel very at home. The cottage has a really cosy feel to it and is easily heated. It's within walking distance of the local pubs and thanks to a recommendation from Heath, we had a lovely meal in The Red Lion. We will definitely be back!

Surrounded by great views, scenic walks and many biking trails. The cottage is ideal for couples, solo adventurers, business travellers and biking/hiking enthusiasts.
Stonewell cottage has a private garden at the front with wonderful views. There is s cosy living area with a log burning stove and an adjoining fully equipped kitchen. On the first floor is a bright double bedroom with a fabulous en suite and large walk-in shower. The cottage is completely private but attached to our family home so we are never too far away if you need help with anything.
Village shop a short walk away for basic provisions. Walking distance to several country pubs. Two miles from Holmfirth centre, home to many bars and restaurants, as well as the popular Picturedrome venue which attracts an array of musical and sporting events. • Fantastic stay, wonderful little cottage. Would definitely recommend!

  • I can’t recommend this house enough. It was one of the best Stay ever. The house is super clean and very cosy. It has everything you need for a perfect stay. The indoor fire place is so nice that we didn’t want to leave the house. It’s in a very quiet area, but there are some local pubs nearby and it’s not far from a lot of attractions. It’s a very safe place to stay. Alexes and Jonathan are perfect hosts and very friendly. I definitely recommend this place.

  • This cottage is very comfortable, well thought out with many thoughtful little touches. We enjoyed a two night stay and felt so at ease here. Eating one night in Holmfirth and the other delicious fish and chips from scholes in the cottage. It was a relaxing time and would certainly recommend. Very comfortable bed and a beautiful view when pulling back the curtains in the mornings! Absolutely fabulous!

    Rosie2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cosy little cottage with a fantastic wood burning stove. Very comfy bed and an amazing bath room! Lovely little touches include DVD's, Sky, umbrellas and shampoo and conditioner. The hosts even left us milk so we could have a cupper when we arrived.

    Vickie2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Really nice place to stay not a long drive to amazing walks in the Peak District and a few great pubs in walking distance from the cottage

    James2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Very nice cottage in a super location.

    Steve2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is beautiful and the local town has a lot of restaurants and bars around. There are a few car parks in town so no need to be too careful about taking the car. If you are a dog owner, you will love that there are a lot of pubs and cafes that allow dogs inside. Not all, just a word of warning before you walk in. Our favourite pub (Butchers Arms) which is literally five minutes walk up the hill will allow dogs and has fireplaces to give that cosy feel. We were very lucky to be allowed to check in early and we were greeted by Alexes the owner. We are appreciative that they were accommodating to the last detail. The fireplace was ready for use and there was milk, shortbread, and two beers in the fridge. Unlike most hosts, they will allow you to get settled and leave you to enjoy your holiday to you despite living next door. If you are looking for a place to stay, my fiance and I would very much recommend here. We look forward to returning as soon as possible.

A superb, luxury glamping Yurt - set in beautiful woodland on the edge of our farmland in the Yorkshire Pennine hills. Log stove, private kitchen/ bathroom, own hot-tub and use of the owners heated indoor pool. Only short walk to village pub/ cafe
  • Great yurt, hot tub was brilliant, location ideal

    Peter2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • What a welcoming and relaxed team! So much better than we expected! Really well thought out yurt with special touches, loads of local info, excellent systems in place for the swimming pool and a brilliant shop. You’ll want to buy all the produce especially the jam!! Friendly faces everywhere in the towns, absolutely stunning walks -the riverside walk from the farm was one of the best, most fun short walks I’ve ever done! We are so glad we booked! Thanks all.

    Hannah2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely Yurt and amazing hot tub. Had privacy from other residents but easy to get to. Hosts were welcoming and lots of extra little touches upon arrival. Will 100% be staying again!

    Robyn2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time at the yurt. Really relaxing and romantic place. We were a bit apprehensive about the cost initially as it was a bit over our budget, but it was definitely worth spending on! Fab stay.

    Harika2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • The two of us were over the moon with our stay and it couldn't have been made better! The thoughtful touches were lovely and the yurt was way beyond expectation! I originally though the Yurt would be freezing but the log burner and under floor heating made it so warm and cosy!! We went on a lovely walk and visited some of the local pubs (the food was amazing). Would highly recommend !! Thanks again for a hosting us! We will definitely be back

    Nicol2019-12-22T00:00:00Z
  • The Yurt is such a beautiful space. We had everything we needed and the little extra touches (bread, jam, toiletries) were great. I had high expectations from the glowing reviews and I was not disappointed. It was lovely to end our trip with a morning swim before heading home. I just wish that we could have stayed longer!

    Marie2019-12-08T00:00:00Z
  • The Rowan Yurt and Upper Gate Farm far exceeding our expectations! We had the most amazing weekend and there was not one thing we could complain about. We can’t wait to return (and bring all our family members!). Thank you so much for making our anniversary so special!

  • Really special Yurt, amazing location so private! Lovely touches from the host of free bread, butter tea and coffee. Lots of information about local area. Amazing log burner and under floor heating. Brill hot tub, which was scorching hot even well into the evening in later October

The first floor has two bedrooms and the bathroom. The second floor has the living area with contemporary fireplace.

  • What can I say? We had an amazing stay at Weavers Cottage! The cottage is super stylish well equipped, incredibly clean with everything you will need, and the living room on the top floor was sensational with views you can never get bored of. Our son loved the real christmas tree and decorations and tried most of the many board games and read some books too. The bedrooms are warm comfortable and cosy, the kitchen amazingly well equipped. The village is lovely with walks on your doorstep, we did the stream walk upon Sarah's suggestion and visited the Yorkshire Sculpture Park too, local pub nice too. We had a fantastic stay and would recommend to anyone. Thank you Sarah for a incredible stay - we didn't want to leave! We will definitely be staying again :-)

    Michelle2019-12-15T00:00:00Z
  • Sarah's place is a stylish and good quality renovation. It is a surprisingly large house wit with completely modern amenities and sparkling clean throughout. I particularly liked the open fires. 😁😁😁

    Rachel2019-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a real gem. Clean, tidy, with great touches to make the stay very comfortable. Sarah came to meet us and explained everything and gave us local information. I couldn't have asked for more from her or from the cottage. I would really recommend this place.

    David2019-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is a really lovely house and location with lots of lovely touches and ample cooking facilities and equipment. We met Sarah on arrival and had a chat, lovely lady, very accommodating. I would have no hesitation to recommend and stay again if in the area. The real fires are fabulous for winter and I'd love to stay in the summer too.

    Andrea2019-11-24T00:00:00Z
  • This beautiful and authentic Yorkshire cottage has been amazingly restored and modernised without losing its personality, in fact, that has been enhanced. It has a great location in a lovely old village, looking out over stone roofs, hills, moors and countryside. It was cosy and warm inside; is very stylish over 3 floors (4 including the cellar) and is very clean and simply decorated with an amazing open large sitting room up at the top. Sarah was polite, informative, there on time to meet us even though we were a bit late and then left us to it. A very enjoyable weekend, thank you.

A lovely double room overlooking woods half a mile from the centre of the market town of Holmfirth. English breakfast included and access to a private lounge with woodburner and door straight out into the garden.
This is a cosy double room with a wooden floor and original cast iron fireplace dating back to the 1880s. The window overlooks the garden, woods and stream beyond and still has the original wooden shutters. The room is quiet and dark at night (no ambient street light). There are old wooden beams, one of which is carved by local artist Mick Kirkby Geddes. Antique, but comfortable double bed with feather topper, chair, chest of drawers, wardrobe and dressing table. The room is part of our house so you will be sharing the main house bathroom, which includes a bath and drencher shower. (We do have other toilet facilities downstairs if there is a logjam!)
Holmfirth is a small market town, tucked into the foothills of the Pennines and about 5 miles from the centre of Huddersfield. The town is well known as the location for the popular TV series ‘Last of the Summer Wine’ and visitors take advantage of the classic Summer Wine tours around the area in a vintage bus. There are many excellent restaurants in Holmfirth (Indian, tapas, Italian, French) and the fabulous Picturedrome (www.picturedrome.net) – home to a range of concerts and tribute bands. Throughout the year there are many festivals - including Holmfirth Festival of Folk (early May); Holmfirth Film Festival (late May); Holmfirth Arts Festival (mid-June); Holmfirth Artweek (early July) and the Festival of Food in September. We are also 30 minutes drive from the award winning Yorkshire Sculpture Park ( www.ysp.co.uk) and 40 minutes from the Hepworth Gallery in Wakefield (www.hepworthwakefield.org). The walking is varied and beautiful and it is possible to walk out of the door of our house and straight up into the hills.

Our lovely Bunker is situated 3 minutes walk to the centre of Holmfirth and the Picturedrome. Built in our garden, this hideaway serves as accommodation for our large family to use when visiting. It has a large open plan kitchen/lounge diner with a sofa bed, one double bedroom, an office area, bathroom and a utility room housing the laundry facilities. It has underfloor heating and is double glazed. There is a dedicated parking space on our drive and a deck to sit on, in good weather.
The Bunker is delightfully private and self contained but only a stones throw from the centre of Holmfirth. Equally it is just a few minutes walk to the hills that made Holmfirth popular in "The Last of the Summer Wine" tv show.
We are located close to the centre of the lively and friendly town of Holmfirth. All the local amenities are conveniently available within walking distance. Whether you are here for shopping and sight-seeing; the food, music or art festivals; a live-music gig at the Picturedrome; or to enjoy a night out in one of the many pubs and restuarants, you will be able to leave the car safely parked and set off on foot down the hill to town . Please note that South Lane is steep but there is an easier shingle path up our garden to The Bunker. Our hens are free range so don't be surprised to find one trotting up the path with you. They may even lay you an egg for breakfast! Holmfirth is an ideal base or stop-over point for walking, motorcycling/cycling and touring holidays. It lies in the picturesque Holme Valley and is close to the Peak District National Park. We have many wonderful cycling roads in fact 'The Tour de France' route came through here before attacking the formidable climb up Holme Moss in 2014. There is a doctors surgery, council owned public gym and swimming pool less than 15 minutes walk away.
  • Di is an amazing host, who goes the extra mile to make you feel welcome. The Bunker is an incredible place, which is so comfortable and quiet. It’s spotlessly clean too! It’s in a perfect location to explore Holmfirth as it is a very short walk to all the shops, bars and restaurants. We’ll definitely be going back again.

  • Diana’s place was lovely, perfect location and a comfortable, spacious and very clean place to stay. Diana and her husband were fantastic, responded quickly to all our queries and went the extra mile of driving us to the local vineyard. I would definitely recommend staying here if you are visiting Holmfirth.

  • My dogs and I travelled all the way from Devon to stay at Philip and Emma's place. It was sparkling clean when we arrived and very warm too. The property was easy to find using a sat nav. The parking facilities are great too - this property offers off road private parking. The area was lovely - clean and friendly and there was a field opposite, suitable for walking my dogs in. The kitchen was well equipped. The towels were large and fluffy and the bedroom was very comfortable. I would definitely recommend a stay here and intend to visit again soon.

  • At Claire cute annex, you can expect nothing but perfection. Claire is a great host and nothing was too much trouble. It was exactly where we wanted to be.The place was spotlessly clean, cosy and the views were wonderful. We will return. Highly recommended

  • The annex is so beautiful and amazing furnished! Claire is such a thoughtful host, alongside her husband - there was chocolate buttons left for us along side crumpets, milk, pastries ect. The annex was lovely a private, so we could have our alone time. I cannot not emphasise how lovely this was! We was also able to stay longer as there was no one staying there the next night which allowed us to look around Holmfirth. Would 1000% recommend this lovely place to anyone! Thank you so much - chloe and reef x

  • A great place for a stay in Holmfirth and the surrounding area. A fantastic view across the fields of the Holme valley. We only had a short stay but would happily go back for longer. Claire was a great host, she welcomed us and responded quickly to queries, but otherwise left us to our own devices.

    Chris2020-03-07T00:00:00Z

  • Very nice stay Lovely apartment

    Ian2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Claire is an excellent host! She was incredibly friendly and helped us with all our requests. Communication was superb! This gorgeous place is a lot more spacious than you think. Claire is so generous and left out pastries, cereal bars, cereal boxes, a small smoothie for our young one and much more! We loved our stay and we'd definitely come back, next time we're in Holmfirth. Thank you so much for having us. Top tip: If you're not an experienced driver / Parker, you're best to park road side, but, if you can handle it, the drive is very convenient and so close to the entrance! Thanks again Claire. This really was one of our best Airbnb stays.

Welcome to "The Lodge", a charming converted Victorian washroom near the centre of Holmfirth - home of “Last of The Summer Wine” and The Picturedrome. Location: Across from our house, by the park. A 2 minute walk down the hill to central Holmfirth. Inside: Private and self-contained. Gas central-heating. Comfortable double bed. Wifi, TV, DAB radio. Fridge. Tea and coffee. Hairdryer. Shower room with toiletries and towels. Outside: Terrace with table and chairs. Reserved parking on our drive.
Our lovely mini-cottage was once the washroom to the main house. It was built from local stone c 1900 and originally contained white glazed tiles, a coal-fired range and a stone wash tub. On the side of the building is a face carved in stone, which we have been told is that of the man who had the houses built for his 2 daughters. We converted "The Lodge" into a spare bedroom about 10 years ago. It is well insulated and heated by a radiator and towel rail from a gas boiler located in our garage. On fine days you will be able to enjoy breakfast in the sunshine on the small terrace where there are garden chairs and a table.
We are located literally a stone's throw from the centre of the lively and friendly town of Holmfirth, adjacent to Victoria Park. All the local amenities are conveniently available within walking distance. Whether you are here for shopping and sight-seeing; the food, music or art festivals; a live-music gig at the Picturedrome; or to enjoy a night out in one of the many pubs and restuarants, you will be able to leave the car safely parked and set off into town on foot. There are also several cafes in the town to choose from for breakfast and lunch. Please note that Cooper Lane is steep with a cobbled pavement on one side only. Holmfirth is an ideal base or stop-over point for walking, cycling and touring holidays. It lies in the picturesque Holme Valley and is close to the Peak District National Park. The Tour de France route came through here before attacking the formidable climb up Holme Moss in 2014. The council-run gym and swimming pool, and a recreation ground, are only half a mile away by the river.
  • Absolutely outstanding lodge and amazing value. The bed was by far the comfiest bed I’ve ever stayed in. Throughout the lodge there was little touches that made a big difference to our stay and made it more enjoyable. We will definitely be returning to the lodge in the future. It’s an absolute credit to the owners!! Thank You 😊

  • The place was very well situated right near the middle of Holmfirth, all the amenities were great and there were some nice touches such as orange juice and milk in the fridge as well as coffee and tea available. We very much enjoyed our stay and would come again in future.

    Simeon2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • This was my 3rd visit to the Lodge. It is a lovely space to relax and I always enjoy staying there as a base for visiting friends and taking walks from the door into the nearby countryside. It is very comfortable with lots of thoughtful touches. Also, it is conveniently located in the middle of Holmfirth but feels a little hidden away and is quiet (you can’t hear any traffic noise from the main road, for example.). I would recommend, and I hope to be back to stay again soon. Thank you for creating this lovely space, and for being such lovely hosts.

We had everything we needed for our stay and the location is amazing. 2 minutes walk to the central Holmfirth area including the Picturedrome where we were attending a gig. Stunning surroundings and perfect base for exploring this idyllic area. Communication with Heath was fantastic and directions/check in excellent!Would definitely stay again!

    Joanne2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is beautiful, grade 2 listed and decorated to really accentuate that. Lovely comfy beds, we slept so well and Heath was a real gem - we’d come to do some walking and he managed to get hold of some maps which he kindly offered to drop round for us. We had no issue with the street parking and always managed to get a space. There’s some lovely walks right on the door step and Heath’s cottage is placed perfectly for some really nice local pubs - try the whippet and pickle which is also dog friendly. The weather was a bit of a shocker but the cottage is so lovely and cozy that it really made no difference to us. Thank you Heath for a really lovely trip we had an amazing time xx

  • Great place to stay!

    Lizzie2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Really lovely place to stay and a very well equipped apartment. The combination microwave was a life safe saver as we struggled to keep the wood burning stove hot enough to cook in but that was probably due to our inexperience! We stayed here after a very informative tour of the vineyard and a tasting session of the wine...both of which we really enjoyed.

    Karen2020-01-27T00:00:00Z
  • At the bottom of the vineyard overlooking the valley, the apartment was in the perfect location. It was finished to a high standard with everything you needed for a short stay. We’ve already started planning a return visit!

    Melanie2019-12-21T00:00:00Z
  • The apartments are at the bottom of the vineyard just off the road. They are managed by the vineyard so check in etc was easy. The space is stunning inside and we had everything we needed. The restaurant at the vineyard made me a delicious afternoon tea and we also took a tour which was a little odd and cold but interesting. The restaurant and accommodation are impeccable and worth a visit! A log burner was an added extra and gave a real cosy feel to the place, felt very special. Our apartment had a huge bath too! Only minor issue was we couldn't access the Wifi but I am sure this will be rectified for future visits and it did not impact my stay. It does not include breakfast but you can access the restaurant first thing. I would highly recommend the accommodation and imagine they will be booked out in the future as its an absolute gem. Tom was fast in responding and a great host.

No. 18, Holmfirth is a cosy, quirky cottage - three minutes walk to the centre of Holmfirth. It's located at the top of a steep road, but benefits from beautiful views from the top (and the H3 bus runs up every hour!) Perfectly located for the Picturedrome, bars, restaurants, shops and supermarkets. Holmfirth Vineyard is only a short drive away. Cannon Hall Farm and Yorkshire Sculpture Park are about 20 minutes away. Holmfirth also benefits from many loyal fans of Last of the Summer Wine.
Location: At the top of Cooper Lane, just 3 minutes from the centre of Holmfirth. Ideal if you’re visiting the Picturedrome. Cooper Lane is quite steep but benefits from the local bus (H3) running from the bus station in the centre of Holmfirth hourly from 9.25 until 16.25. After this time, if you don’t feel Ike walking back up, taxis are available (approx. £3). You could always take the scenic route through Victoria Park. From No.18, it’s a lovely walk starting half way down Cooper Lane! Outside: Bench to enjoy your morning coffee Patio area to the side of the house with table and chairs Parking on the road to the side of No.18 Inside: Wi-fi, TV, Amazon Fire Stick, DAB Radio Storage heaters Double bed Futon for a small guest (please let us know if you’d like this making up, in advance of your stay) Table top combination microwave oven Hob, fridge and washer Nespresso machine, kettle and toaster Bath and shower, with toiletries and towels Hairdryer and iron The space: Built c1900, No.18 is small but perfectly formed! The living room is cosy and traditional with a gas fire for those cooler nights. It has a table and chairs, suitable for a laptop. WiFi is free to use and the TV includes an Amazon Fire Stick. The kitchen is compact and includes a fridge, washer, combination microwave oven and hob. There is also a Nespresso coffee machine. No.18 has a spacious and bright bedroom with en suite bathroom, which boasts a bath and electric shower. In the bedroom there is also a futon which is ideal for a small guest or relaxing with a book. If you’d like this making up, please let me know before your stay. Your stay will be complimented with a welcome pack, which will include tea and coffee and some ‘essential’ Yorkshire extras. We include hair dryer, iron, towels, hand soap, shampoo, shower gel and face wipes! Extra bedding is also available upon request to ensure your stay is comfortable. Luggage drop off before/after your stay can be arranged but only with prior notice.
No.18 is a few minutes walk to Holmfirth. You can walk down by road or take a right (half way down Cooper Lane) through Victoria Park, taking in the stunning view. Holmfirth is buzzing with bars and restaurants. Try Lou and Joe’s, Y Bar or Harvey’s for yummy food! The Fair Trader shop, opposite Bloc (excellent breakfast), is well worth a visit too, I’ve often come out if there a few £s lighter! Holmfirth also has a Sainsbury’s Local, Co-Op and, a short drive away, Lidl and Aldi.
  • Brilliant spot for Holmfirth (and the vineyard!). Joanne couldn’t have done enough for us, from early check in to lovely little touches, she has literally thought of everything. Would highly, highly recommend.

  • Joanne is a great host who has a special house in Holmfirth. We have just returned from our second stay and would highly recommend the house for its location, how clean it is and the little touches you keep finding during your stay. Communication with Joanne was as easy as it had been when we stayed the first time. We will definitely return but in the summer next time.

  • Beautifully presented cottage, as in the listing it is at the top of a steep hill but worth the climb. Bed was comfy and we were lovely and warm. Sweet treats waiting when we arrived. Loved the decor and it was sparkly clean. Excellent communication with the host - would return if in the area again.

Cozy Cottage is in the heart of Holmfirth. Close to a wide range of amenities from boutique shops, restaurants and bars. If you are a music fan, then the famous Picturedrome is on your doorstep. Perfect getaway with all your comforts catered for including a private courtyard with picturesque views of Holme Valley.
There are car parks close by ranging from £3.00 per day, or on street parking on Dunford Road. The cottage is suitable for both couples and friends as the double bed shown in the photos splits into 2 singles. There is a utility area with a usable washing machine. This beautiful cottage is home from home, the perfect place to come back and relax after a day of sight seeing walking or cycling, as there are an abundance of walks or cycle routes in the surrounding countryside and the peak District close by. There is also a wood burning fire with logs provided.
  • Nice cozy cottage once you find it ..... which isn’t easy. Your have to park your car in the station car park. Take luggage down to Harvey’s then turn up that cobbled path to the book shop then turn right and at the end of the row of houses is Cozy Cottage, which is entered through a gate. Once in it is plenty big enough for two people. It did take a while to warm through but once it had it was perfectly comfortable. The complementary milk, OJ, Water were out of date. Upstairs the bedroom and bathroom was clean. I would stay again now I know how to find it and park etc. The location is superb.

  • We had a really lovely stay at Jemma's, the fireplace offered great relief when we got back from a stormy walk! It is a nice homey place, at the most convenient location of the town, parking, shopping and bars all within 5 minutes. Thank you for having us! Elli & Tamas

  • Great little cottage , everything you need , loved the log burner , the cottage is bang in the centre ideal location in holmfirth .

    Jeanie2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Great place for exploring Holmfirth and if you are a fan of Last of the Summer Wine, the location is just perfect, only a few steps from Sid’s Cafe, the start for the tour bus, Nora Batty’s home and Compo’s Exhibition. The cottage itself and its amenities were just right. I much enjoyed staying in a local property with its build style and construction materials very different to my home town. I used the kitchen for cooking full English breakfast and evening meals and no problems here. It was also appreciated that there was milk, OJ, coffee and tea etc. The cottage was lovely and clean, and exactly as described. The bed was a super king size and very very comfortable and even though in a very central location no noise or disturbance from the street or traffic. I did light the log fire on two of the evenings, this was easy and made the cottage really homey, especially as I stayed during November. All in all a great cottage to stay and I would certainly recommend.

    Bridget2019-11-18T00:00:00Z
  • Cozy cottage was exactly that, a cozy, homely and comfortable ‘base camp’ for our time in the area. It was our first weekend away with our newest addition to our little family, a four month old golden retriever pup. He was very comfortable chilling out on his bed in front of the wood burner after a day of being outside. The amenities were very welcome. Tea and coffee making facilities, along with everything you need to get the wood burner going. The cottage was perfect for us as a couple and our four legged friend. He wasn’t allowed up on the furniture (the pup I mean, not my partner), but this wasn’t an issue as we knew in advance and brought his bed along. The place was very clean and a comfortable home-from-home.

  • What a beautiful cottage right in the centre of the town. So cosy and comfortable, what a relaxing break. All the amenities you'll need and made even better with the fact you can include the dog. Lots of grea pubs and walks on the doorstep. I'll be back!

Millpond Cottage is a beautiful, two bedroom holiday cottage located in the picturesque Holme Valley, in the village of Hinchliffe Mill just outside Holmfirth. Renowned for it’s rich heritage and breathtaking scenery, Holmfirth is a popular holiday location and perfect for anyone looking for an idyllic getaway.
Millpond Cottage is a original stone built mill worker's property that can be dated back to the early 1850s and is small but perfectly formed! There are two bedrooms, one double, one single, a bath/shower room and large living area, a log burning stove and a fully equipped kitchen, dining table and chairs. Our new river balcony gives you a great opportunity to sit quietly by the river and watch the local wildlife which include kingfishers and brown trout.
The cottage is close to Holmfirth centre (10 minutes walk) and only a few minutes drive from the Peak district. The area is great for walkers, cyclists and people to enjoy the great outdoors. We welcome dogs at this property - with such amazing dog walking country right from the front door it would have been a shame not to!
  • Amazing little cottage with everything u need ! Kate is so lovely and thoughtful , always taking one extra step to make sure we were having a nice time. Perfect for walks along the river our dog loved it :) The cottage is located just 5 minutes by car from Holmfirth this lovely little town that offers anything you need . We had a wonderful mini break and will be definitely coming back.

  • We had a lovely time. The house was great - snug and comfortable and ideal for taking the dog. Loads of great walks from the front door. Kate is a great host and made us feel very welcome.

  • We stayed at millpond cottage for 4 lovely nights in October as a base for exploring the Peak District. It was me, my husband and our 4 month old daughter. Kate texted me when I reserved to confirm details and arranged to meet us at the cottage when we arrived at 2pm. She was absolutely lovely and gave us lots of tips of things to do in the area including what walks were baby friendly and what pubs had good Sunday roasts etc. The cottage has a safe reserved parking spot for the car. The cottage itself is so cozy and sweet, every amenity you could need such as hair dryer, shower gel, logs for the fire, complimentary tea coffee milk bread and marmalade. The bedding was all really nice and lovely thick fluffy towels. Kate has set up the cot for the baby and turned the heat up so the cottage (which could have been cold in November) was lovely and warm. We found the bed really comfy and the curtains were nice and thick so we slept well. We walked into town with the baby in the buggy twice which takes about 25 mins, but there’s also a bus which takes around 6-7 mins to get you into holmfirth. We can’t wait to come back!

    Sarah2019-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect place for a short getaway.

    Peter2019-10-08T00:00:00Z
  • What a gorgeous place! Kate to greet us on arrival was a lovely touch and we really appreciated it and her top tips for eating & walking! The cottage is adorable and so cosy and relaxing, the river below with ducks and brown trout is just lovely. Lots to see and do, plenty within walking distance! Very dog friendly - would recommend eating at The Catch (15 min walk up river path) gorgeous seafood there! The pickled pheasant is a v welcome drop in on the walk back from Digley reservoir - v nice wine & sandwiches ! Holmfirth winery is beaut views - but not the best food. And loads to see and do in Holmfirth, including the Carding Shed a mile or so out - vintage place for clothes, cars, bikes & other bits! Would love to come back xxx

  • This is a lovely little cottage, with everything one could want for a wonderful stay. There were lots of nice little touches, especially the Christmas tree and decorations, as well as the welcome basket with delicious local marmelade, bread, milk and butter. Communication with the host was very good, and everything was done to ensure our stay was as comfortable as possible! We will definitely recommend this cottage, and hopefully we will be back again sometime soon!

This is a single bedroom in addition to double bedroom available as listed separately. All house/location details are the same as double bedroom, other than room itself of course. Single is at cheaper rate. Within Holmfirth district but located 3 miles from Holmfirth centre; in a friendly and quaint village. 10 minutes from Huddersfield, commutable to Greater Manchester, Wakefield, Calderdale, Kirklees etc, as quite centrally located.
Single room available, 1 guest at one time (double room also available). Modern cottage, with traditional features such as exposed beams, open fire with log burning stove, mullion windows, low ceilings and cosy and comfortable feel. English vintage and ethnically inspired decor, nuanced with worldwide artefacts and shabby chic touches in keeping with cottage ambience. Clean, tidy and welcoming property in the heart of a quaint village with all local amenities in close walking distance and a few metres from a lovely church. Host lives in property but often out or away and is friendly and welcoming:) Peaceful environment, ideal for a break or as a short stop en route. Good quality mattresses and guaranteed clean bedding ensures a tranquil night's sleep.
My place is close to Holmfirth tourist area, cafes, restaurants, library, wine bar, village shops, bus stop. Local walks, reservoirs and picturesque countryside nearby. Friendly community, peaceful village yet not secluded or cut off from civilisation! Nearby town is Huddersfield, central location to get to a number of big cities and motorways in the region. Commutable to Kirklees, Calderdale, Wakefield areas. Leeds and Manchester under an hour away.

  • This is a lovely little cottage, set in beautiful surroundings and complete with lots of original features. The open fire was an exceptional delight, with ample wood and fire lighters available. The cottage has two double rooms with ample space and a Lounge with two large sofas, large TV and a dining table. The kitchen is fully equiped with everything you need to cook a decent meal and there were even a few groceries in the fridge. This is a great home away from home and a lovely place to spend a few days.

I was on a working weekend and she made sure I had an early breakfast and gave me coffee to take away in my flask, which was a kind gesture that made all the difference. We enjoyed a chat over breakfast every morning and I was able just chill on my own in the evening. I would recommend this place to stay for other travellers. thank you Julie.

Louise showed us where to help ourselves to warm drinks in the kitchen and where to eat that evening - bath towels huge and fluffy - bedroom was quirky which I liked - and bathroom had a lovely big bath but we only stayed one night and shower fine. Loved the Temple Spa products ! Bed so so comfy too. A great find. Thanks again.

There is an abundance of scenic walks in the area, but here’s a good website to give you some starting ideas for walks and activities: www.holmfirthevents.co.uk
  • Lovely cosy cottage in a super friendly village. Close to two lovely pubs and a village shop for all you need. Everyone is so friendly. Can recommend a little walk along the river and then a stop off at the chippy on the way home. Having a private off road parking space too is lovely and really useful. Will be back

  • Had a lovely stay at this cute little cottage. It was great to have the wood burning stove as the weather was particularly bad. The cottage itself is very well maintained and comfortable. Cozy pubs within walking distance and a lovely breakfast at Totties garden centre finished off our trip nicely.

Double bedroom cottage apartment (refurbished 2018) with single off road parking space on three levels part of large 18th C traditional Yorkshire 'Weavers Cottage' within five minutes walk of Picturedrome and Holmfirth town centre. Newly decorated, very light and airy accommodation with original exposed oak beams. Private LGF entrance into galley kitchen with modern fitted kitchen; GF sitting room withTV, FF; double bed; bathroom, Shower, WC/ WHB. Very warm gas C/H. Sorry no pets.
Ideal for couples, walkers, cyclists. Very close to Picturedrome, Holmfirth town centre; excellent base for country walks to gastropubs and short taxi ride to vineyard.
Mainly residential area 5 minutes walk from Picturedrome Holmfirth town centre; 50m from Lidl supermarket, and 2 minutes walk from Holmfirth leisure centre including swimming pool.
  • Stayed one night for a gig at the Picturedrome. Fabulous location - 10 minute stroll on the flat into the centre of Holmfirth or a bus stops right outside. Really clean split over 3 levels - kitchen on lower floor, living room on ground, bedroom and bathroom upstairs. Really hot central heating and water. There are lots of stairs so might not suit if you have reduced mobility. Try the Taphouse in Holmfirth to eat - excellent tasty food really with large portions and great beer. Book a table in advance though as it got busy before the gig. Book this cottage you won't be disappointed.

The newly converted ground floor of our cottage - a former 18th Century brewhouse and cottage. 5 minutes walk from Holmfirth centre & 5 minutes walk into open countryside. Walking, cycling, music, festivals, countryside... all at your fingertips!
The apartment has one bedroom, shower / wet room and small kitchen. The living / dining room has a wood burning stove and stone-flagged floor. It is all on one level with a step into the kitchen.
The apartment is a 5 minute stroll to Holmfirth centre. Here you will find quality bars, pubs, restaurants, a wealth of beautiful independent shops, 3 supermarkets and one of the finest music venues in the north of England - The Picturedrome. Please be aware the cottage is on a steep hill. We are a 30 second cycle from the route of the Tour de France and Tour de Yorkshire, leading up one of the finest Pennine climbs - Holme Moss. Footpaths, bridleways and country roads lead directly into beautiful countryside in all directions. Home to the sitcom Last of the Summer Wine, Holmfirth is famous for its historic town centre and the beautiful countryside and villages surrounding it. Each year Holmfirth hosts a wide variety of festivals from beer, food & drink and folk music. We have a number of excellent local micro-breweries, a vineyard and cider farm. It is the perfect venue for a romantic getaway, a sporting weekend, blowing away the cobwebs with the dog or catching a gig after an excellent meal. It really has something for everyone.
  • Lovely cottage with a comfy bed and great shower

  • A super find!! Jerome and Pippa’s cottage is so lovely and they provided us with everything we could need. Travelling up from Cornwall and arriving at 10pm to a warm, cosy place was just what we both needed. We requested logs for the fire but the cottage is so warm we only lit the fire being the romantics that we are!! We definitely hope to return ~ Holmfirth is a really welcoming town in a beautiful area of W Yorkshire. Thank you!

*Flexible cancellation recently added to prevent spread of Coronavirus. Property professionally deep cleaned before and after every booking* Beautiful cottage situated in Thurlstone, near Holmfirth/Sheffield/Peak District. Great for walks/cycling. Swedish Massage/Reflexology available to book. Ideal for a relaxing break. No TV channels but loads of DVD's, books, WIFI, Echo Dot. Chromecast/HDMI to run apps such as iPlayer/Netflix through your device. 5 min walk to pub, 1 to bakery.
It's one of the smallest dwellings in Thurlstone, which isn't a bad thing as it's just perfect for 1-3 guests and easy to keep warm and cosy. A quiet little under-dwelling with loads of character and a pretty, rural view. The building is listed, built in 1840, plenty of roadside parking.
Thurlstone is a quiet country town with a pub, free roadside parking, a small shop and lots of walks. Penistone is a market town and just 20 minutes away by foot. The award winning Huntsman Pub is a short stroll away, it's very popular with real ale drinkers and does amazing Sunday dinners and homemade pies. The new Fox Valley Mall is located nearby, it has plenty of shops and various restaurants. 10 minute drive. Also a 15 minute walk from the house is an Italian restaurant based in an old blacksmith forge (Tiamo) I think it is very good, fairly expensive (but quality) specials and reasonably priced pizza and pasta with 241 on Sundays and Tuesdays. Across the road from this is an Indian restaurant, very tasty food and reasonable prices (Taste of India). The White Hart is a highly rated pub/wine bar situated between and also does food. The Trans Pennines trail (five mins from my cottage) is perfect for biking and walking. You can rent bikes on the trail, half a day for £18. Or you can rent my city bike, helmet and lock for £10 a day. Langsett Resevoir is a very picturesque walk with a pub and cafe at its base, it's a 40 minute walk to get there, or five minute drive (recommended) Cannon Hall and Cawthorne Park is a ten minute drive away. Recommended!! The Yorkshire Sculpture Park is also close for drivers.
  • We had a lovely stay. Everything was easy to find and clean. It was quiet, beautifully decorated and the bed was very comfy!

    Valentina2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place was perfectly clean and excellently maintained. The location was great and we felt surrounded by nature but still had amenities. A lovely cosey hideaway.

    David2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place with a gorgeous cottage feel and arty decor. We had everything we needed and were well set up for cooking our meals there. The bed was very comfortable and finishing the trip with a lovely Swedish massage from our host Kirsty was fantastic. She was very friendly and accommodating and great with communication. Highly recommend!

    Alice2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place to stay, very relaxing And clean. Everything was easy. Thank you

    Helen2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Kirsty's cosy cottage is a little gem of a find! We loved the fact it didn't have television - not really a fan of television anyway but you can connect the HDMI cable that's provided if you want to watch stuff. Loved that you can spend time here and connect with one another (quite literally!) we played connect 4! We played some other games, we read interesting books, there's a huge array of books all very interesting (Sheffield Gang Wars amongst others) The pictures on the wall - all make an interesting discussion. I love how the place has been decorated. Thoughtful touches - breakfast in the fridge, thoughtful handwritten (I LOVE handwritten stuff being a writer myself) messages everywhere, the tree of positivity, the map of shipwrecks in the bathroom. As soon as you walk in, the vibe is positive and relaxed. There's an Alexa which we've never used before and found that quite hilarious - you can ask for a daily trivia quiz which we did and a nightly music quiz. There's a friendly and welcoming pub 5 minutes up the road that serves great ales and nice food - a pub the way it should be! Really good value for money. Last but not least!! Kirsty, as a host, is lovely and welcoming. I booked a full Swedish massage with reflexology an hour and a half and it was excellent value for money and pure relaxation (and included a foot spa!) I highly recommend having one of the treatments if you stay here. We will be back :D

  • Cute space in a good location with easy parking and easy access to a supermarket. Had all the amenities. Check in was easy. Def recommend.

    Gimo2020-01-21T00:00:00Z
  • Kirsty's place was a beautiful cosy cottage to explore this part of the world. The village and surrounding area are very picturesque with lots of beautiful landscapes, pubs and walks to explore. Highly recommended.

    Leon2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • The cottage is absolutely perfect. It is small, cozy and full of character. When we arrived in the evening, lights had been left on and it was friendly and welcoming. It was lovely and quiet in the area which was what we had wanted. It had everything that we needed whilst we were there. The bed was super comfortable, the kitchen jam packed with pots, pans and knick knacks and we loved the selection of dvds and music available. The pub up the road was really nice too and worth a visit. It’s a great base for getting out and about in the area.

    Rhianne2020-02-11T00:00:00Z
  • Thanks Julie and Luis for a lovely stay. Parking: there was ample free parking outside the property on the roads, although put your wing mirror in as the road is tight for other cars passing Check in: self check in was easy with a lock box Space: the room is a good size with a very comfy queen size double bed. There is a TV and ensuite bathroom which gave a nice hot shower! There is a small kitchenette which had everything we needed to cook a simple breakfast and dinner Things to do: I was here on work so I didn't explore the area too much although Luis advised me there's a woodland walk across the road and also a nice pub within a few minutes walk. The stay felt like home from home with Julie and Luis being really friendly and approachable and would go the extra mile - thanks for the window scraper for my iced up car! All in all a lovely stay and would recommend.

There is a private garden at the front with wonderful views of the valley, a large living area with a log burning stove and a large, fully equipped kitchen. On the first floor are two bedrooms, the first with a king size bed and the second bedroom has two single beds. There is a large bathroom with bath and shower. Just in case you don't want to venture out the whole of the top floor is a light and airy library with huge book cases full of books and two big comfy chairs in which to read them!
The cottage is a mid 18th century weavers dwelling with original features and quirky corners!
This cottage is located in the village of Holmbridge (1.9 miles from the centre of the busy tourist hub of Holmfirth) on the beginning of the infamous climb up Holme Moss - a well known goal for all keen cyclists! It has close proximity to beautiful reservoir walks and woodland areas.
  • This is a lovely cottage, beautifully furnished and very warm and comfortable. It was spacious enough to accommodate 2 adults and 2 teenage boys, plus the dog .It is very well located, close to 2 good pubs for food and drink and multiple places to walk, either from the front door or just a short drive. Kate met us soon after we arrived and provided excellent information about places to visit, eat etc. Sadly we didn't have great weather so missed out on the opportunity to explore the area as much as we hoped during our 4 day stay, but we are determined to return before the end of the year. Would have no hesitation recommending- feel we've discovered a gem of a place to stay.

    Lisa2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • A very cosy cottage in lovely countryside and a lot of very good walks nearby. You can do 20 minutes or 3 hours and we did both. Beautiful countryside. Kate was brilliant - really welcoming and so helpful. We have family nearby and know the area but if you don't, Kate is full of information. I highly recommend this cottage. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We thought the cottage looked great and we were not disappointed.

  • Two adults, two kids and one dog had a marvellous stay at The Other Place. Kate was a great host and gave some good insights into the local amenities. Little touches like fresh bread, butter and milk were very nice. We will be definitely staying again! Thank you!

  • Very dog friendly cottage and relaxed helpful hosts. Beautiful area with plenty of options for eating out (even with dogs) as well as deliver in.

    Bridget2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at the cottage The other place was the most wonderful stay of our 3 weeks trip to England and Scotland. The cottage is wonderful and very cosy. It is more beautyful than in the pictures and with al lot of space and decorated with englisch taste. Kate is most welcoming and gave us - besides the welcoming details - very good advice on walks and things to do like the Yorkshire Sculpture Park. Thanks very much, Kate!

    Wilma2019-08-19T00:00:00Z
  • This is a fantastic, quirky little cottage with everything we needed for our short stay. The children loved exploring the library space, in fact I wish our stay had been longer so I could indulge in the books some more! The cottage was very well equipped indeed and nothing was too much trouble for Kate. Every suggestion she made (places to eat out, routes to go walking etc) enhanced our visit. Would love to go back! Thank you Kate, for your hospitality! 🙂

    Sara2019-07-25T00:00:00Z
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at The Other Place, which is in a perfect position for both local walks and further afield. The cottage itself is gorgeous, well appointed with a fully equipped kitchen, a spacious bathroom, it has plenty of space and so many lovely books, the library at the top of the house was one of my favourite places to chill. There is a local pub a stone's throw away that does delicious food and has a nice selection of ales. Kate is a great source of information on the local area and is super helpful whilst letting you get on with your holiday. We will definitely be rebooking!
