  • A few nights in this secluded location with the beautiful view were just what we needed. The place was perfectly clean and the beds and pillows very comfortable — the best sleep we’ve had on our trip so far. Enjoyed kayaking in the sounds very much, and dinners on the balcony. The place would be perfect for two couples; maybe someday we will be able to return with friends.

  • Gorgeous home with a great view. Well located and has many amenities. Kayaks were great. Other reviews mention the steep driveway- true but there is a flat bit to park up on that isn't all the way at the bottom. Lovely stay, thanks!

  • Highly recommend! But unlike the description, it took us more than 25min drive from islander. Nonetheless, place is awesome.

But there is internet available in the flat. (Ethernet ) We have Cell phone coverage. Vodaphone is usually fine. We are Spark customers and if you point your phone in the right direction, Spark is usually fine. Enjoy a visit to the delicious restaurants and cafes in the nearby seaside village of Havelock. Or visit the local pub just up the road. Guests tell us that the flat is very well equipped and set up for longer stays, so we are happy to accommodate your needs for a longer holiday. We offer a discount . Since purchasing this property we have been working hard on improvements, but are still to repaint the interior of the flat. However your space is welcoming, clean and comfortable. - Furnished with pre loved and retro, It might not win any luxury style awards but it's homely, casual and fun. You are welcome to put your feet up on the couch ! - We have young children and as you know, children can be noisy as they play. Our twins play loudly ! Although we are encouraging them to be mindful of our guests, children will be children :) - We also have dogs that are kept restrained, but they do bark at times. So please be aware that this may not be suitable for you if you want total peace and quiet. Although our guests say it's quiet here. I guess living out here, we forget how noisy it is in a city!
-Conveniently situated between Havelock and Picton. You can enjoy any of the tourist attractions and activities offered in the Sounds, Picton or Blenheim or we are only one hour's drive to Nelson. Your unit is stocked with brochures providing information on a variety of activities from winery tours and museums to fishing trips or swimming with dolphins! There is so much to enjoy...
  • The place is ideally situated to explore Marlbough and other sounds in the area.

  • On our last day before catching the ferry we were very fortunate to book at John and Maree’s. The amenities were exceptional and location ideal with great eating places nearby.

  • Another great stay at Bethaven, and everything at the same high standard. Hope I can get another chance to come back soon.

    Phil2020-03-05T00:00:00Z
  • Like everywhere else during our stay in New Zealand, we would have loved to have had more time with John and Maree ... firstly, the accommodation has everything you need for a longer stay and secondly, the Marlborough Sounds deserve more than just a day ... The accommodation was clean, very spacious and had good facilities ... Maree was very friendly and gave good tips ...

    Alexander2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • John and Maree's place is awesome. Super clean and the most comfortable beds in the world! Everything is very well organised with notes on how everything works. The location is beautiful and after the viewing point. The only places to eat nearby is either in Havelock or this cool pub but it's best to drive there. Would've loved to stay longer if we had the time.

Kingfisher Cabin is a private, tiny house in a peaceful, rural area, with stunning views over the Mahakipawa Arm of Pelorus Sound. It is perfect for tourists wanting to access Queen Charlotte Sound, mountain bikers, bird watchers, or people wanting a weekend away from it all. Check out our Instagram account for more images https://www.instagram.com/whare.kotare/
The Cabin has everything you need, whether you are staying for a couple of nights or a month. Small, cosy and warm, the house opens onto a covered deck, providing plenty of room to enjoy the view.
The Cabin is accessed by a shared driveway, with 4 other houses on it, but all at least 50m away. The Linkwater/Mahakipawa area is a mixture of dairy farms, baches, lifestyle blocks, retirees and the people who keep the community going.
  • Idyllic tiny house with stunning views. Clare is an excellent host and very responsive with communication. We booked last minute but everything was ready and clean and tidy. Easy to find and well signed from the road. Rough track from the road but not a problem. Parking right outside and only short distance to the tiny house. Views from the deck are stunning, with a sofa to relax and take it all in. The tiny house is perfect; plenty of space actually, with an excellent fully equipped kitchen. Very comfortable bedroom with en-suite. Lovely to lie in bed in the morning and look out over the sounds. The Queen Elizabeth Inn is walking distance (1km), just take a torch if getting ark and take care on the road until the footpath starts. Very friendly, and seems very popular with the locals. Not. A huge menu choice but really good food. Also opens at 1000 for coffee!

    Mike2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • The perfect place for a break from the busy. It's inspiring to see what Clare has done to make a small space so liveable and comfortable, we never felt crowded - it's a case of everything you need and nothing you don't! We walked, drove to keneperu sound, did a couple of wineries in Blenheim, all easy enough to do from the cabin. And the best day was when we did nothing except the puzzle and read our books! Thanks so much for having us Clare, like I said, this place is perfect :)

    May2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely stay. Beautiful location!

    Clare2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Superb address that we recommend with beautiful view, tranquility and comfort Congratulations on the decor. Pleasant attentions from our host. From this lodge we had access to all the nearby activities that we wanted to do (kayaking, mountain bikes, hiking) ideally located between Charlotte Sounds and Pelorus Sounds. thank you for everything

    ISABELLE2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Great little place in an amazing location. The views are much better than the description photos imo. The house itself has everything you’ll need for a comfortable stay, in fact it felt almost like home. Clare also provided our 14 months old son a box of toys which was very nice.

    Wendy2020-02-24T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely house with great views: although not large it’s been very thoughtfully designed and has everything one could possibly need. We did great walks from Anawika (Queen Charlotte Sound) and Pelorus Bridge, both through beautiful indigenous forest.

    Julian2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • The little cabin is beautiful and has a wonderful view. It's a great place to stay at and Clare is just lovely! :)

    Catharina2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • The house and the view were very beautiful. The owners lived previously in this house and by the little details you could tell, that they spent a lot of time and effort getting it right. A small house but a big home. Clare offered us to check out a little bit later than 10:00, which was very helpful, because getting started with a little baby often takes a few minutes extra.

  • Book this place!!! Situated off the beaten track this place is gorgeous and so relaxing. Kelly showed us some great spots to hike and to swim in the river, we came home to fresh chicken eggs and plums , it was fab - we could ha e stayed a week. Also very close to Havelock for mussels, Queen Charlotte drive for great hiking and within easy reach of Picton. We loved it

  • If you’re looking for a place to relax and unwind we highly recommend Kelly’s Place. You get a great view of mountains, such great hosts who are absolutely friendly and just all round lovely. All we can say is the pictures don’t do the place justice at all. Absolutely loved our stay. Thank you Kelly and partner 🙂

  • Fantastic little hideaway cabin on the hill. Set up for comfort and relaxation. Very close to a great swimming river. Would love to return. Great hosts.

  • A truly special wee gem in an incredibly scenic spot! Kelly and Mandy have done a magnificent job setting this space up and making it feel so homely - it couldn’t have been cleaner and everything is in great condition (the photos don’t do it justice!). It was lovely sitting outside on the deck at night, looking out into the mounts and hearing the cicadas. Kelly and Mandy are absolutely lovely, accomodating and gave us privacy. Will definitely be back - thank you so much for sharing this special spot!

    Lucy2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • What can we say about this fabulous accommodation and location! All the positive comments that have previously been posted are everything that we hoped for! Liz and Tony made us feel relaxed and most welcome and were always available for a chat, either at breakfast or on the decking that has stunning views across the bay. We recommend this accommodation in Picturesque Havelock with quality restaurants!

    David2020-02-12T00:00:00Z
  • We enjoyed our stay in Liz and Tony’s place. They are very welcoming and hospitable. Their place is sparkling clean and comfortable, they kindly allow us to use their washing machine and the check-in was easy. We loved the beautiful view, talking with them and having a delicious diner at their favorite restaurant, Captains Daughter. Highly recommended.

    Liz2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our one night stay wth Liz and Tony in Havelock. They were outstanding hosts who made us both feel comfortable and extremely welcome. The view was spectacular, the breakfast was delicious and the overall experience was one that we can fully recommend to all.

    Samuel2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • Tony & Liz are made up of sugar, spice, and everything nice :-) We had a wonderful time. They are really the loveliest as individuals and as a couple! We were so comfortable and content just hanging out with them and having meals together. Very kind in helping us whenever we needed it and also happily sharing their home. Incredible, incredible people. The home is beautifully decorated (chat with Tony!!), clean, cosy and we had everything (and more) that we needed. We enjoyed lounging in the patio and going for a little kayak adventure. We also liked the quiet town that we could easily walk around rather than drive. All in all, it really won’t feel like you booked an Airbnb as you feel like you’re family/old friends catching up :-)

    Samuel & Michelle2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • This property and these hosts are absolutely outstanding. Liz and Tony could not be more welcoming, and their house overlooking the water of Marlborough Sound is stunning. In our experience, this is unmatched in style, hospitality, views and, important for some like us, the bird activity on the sea and beach below. If the sight of a Pied Stilt or a Royal Spoonbill gets your blood racing, bring your binoculars and prepare to be amazed.

    James2020-01-31T00:00:00Z
  • What can one expect at Liz and Tony’s place? Only the best of the best in all aspects! Yes, this was my first Airbnb stay, but I’m real sure they and their place will be at the top of my, and others, list for a long time. I like being spoiled! Thanks so much, Rick

    Richard2020-01-28T00:00:00Z
  • What a super place to stay. Amazing views from your beautiful appointed room, with everything you need, to sitting on the deck and taking in the breathtaking view. Enjoyed chatting to Liz, the host, and eating our wonderful, delicious breakfasts. Thank you for letting us stay at your gorgeous house. Highly recommend.

Highly recommended.

  • Pleasant, rustic cottage. Renate, the proprietor, has a pottery studio on the property, and this adds to the eclectic charm. No AC, but a fan provided. Windows open, not many screens, but we had a good sleep.

In beautiful Moenui we have a typical kiwi north facing bach overlooking the Mahau Sound. It boasts a two bedroom house with a one bedroom and lounge Chalet, and an expansive deck that takes in full views of the water. There are many options to sit and take in gorgeous views from many vantage points around the property. Open plan kitchen, dining and lounge, opening out onto the deck. With a mooring, boat ramp to launch your boat, a local reserve and surrounding walks, you will fall in love.
The bach is a typical kiwi bach that has been decorated with a vintage theme with modern conveniences. The open plan kitchen, dining and lounge area all look out to scenic views of the bay. New steps and landscaping takes you to the top of the section where even more beautiful scenery awaits. There are many options to sit and take in views from different vantage points on the property. This bach has charm and a homely feel, decorated with love and good taste.
There is a boat ramp, public reserve, walking tracks, beach walks, and a tyre swing at the end of a short walk opposite the beach access walkway on the other side of the road. Havelock is only 10 minutes away and has wonderful restaurants and quaint shops.
  • we felt very comfortable. could use kayaks and grill. wonderful the view and the silence

  • Good location and great view from the balcony

  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Jane's holiday house. We felt very much at home; everything was clean and comfortable. It was lovely to stay in quiet surroundings near the water, but close enough to Havelock.... to feast on mussels. Glittering Milky Way clearly overhead at night. I would recommend staying at Jane's house to explore this beautiful part of the world.

    Diana2020-02-14T00:00:00Z
  • This place is great - especially if you like trails - the amazing trail that runs from Picton to Havelock is very close and you can get on it and enjoy it for miles and miles. Incredible views. Spectacular trail!! Loved our stay here.

  • Brilliant place to stay! Lovely neighbours too. Enjoyed the kayaks ☺️

    Eveline2020-02-07T00:00:00Z
  • This is a gem of a place in a beautiful location and Jane and Wayne couldn't have made it nicer. We were a party of 5 adults and a one year old. The balcony and the stairs posed a problem with the 1 year old as he was small enough to slip through and off both. The balcony issue was fixable and the stairs meant we had to be supervigilant. It is really well equipped and spotlessly clean and the beds were excellent and the location is a dream. We swam at the little beach at Moenui and kayaked from the boat ramp and spent a wonderful time at Pelorus Bridge. We would definitely love to stay there again.

    Deborah2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • This bach is fabulous. It's the perfect size and fit for a getaway. It's cosy and comfortable and provides everything that you could need for a trip away. There are lots of little walks and beaches all around this spot that are enchanting and easy to navigate. Loved our holiday.

    Shelley2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • This place is just so charming! It's all about the fantastic views and the tranquility. And there's so much fun to do as you can borrow kayaks, fishing rods etc.

70 yr old farmhouse, heater, electric blankets, Continental brekkie offered. Stay 2 nites + get cooked brekkie offered. 1 km to Havelock, historical town in centre of 1500 kms of winding coastline, secluded bays and island sanctuaries. Set in one of New Zealand's sunniest spots and in our largest winegrowing region. My home is carved out of working sheep and dairy farms, peace, views, birdsong will relax you. In off season months, book 2 nights, help a little for up to 3 more nights.
What makes my space unique is that there are plenty of farm animals around yet you can glimpse the water which is less than 1.5kms away. Enjoy boat rides thru the Sounds, visit local Wineries, walk the coastal Walking Tracks etc. My cats are very friendly. My six canaries are happy and chirpy, males burst into song daily. I have Lulu, friendly goat to keep the grass down in my paddock, where my brown shaver chooks live, so fresh free range eggs available to buy for breakfast. The house is 70 years young farm house so please do not expect a kitchen floor that you can eat off. I wet mop and disinfect it daily and a new kitchen floor is now down. I often block the day by 3pm so move quickly if you want the best value for your money in Marlborough region.
The main attraction is the peace and tranquility of the farmland, together with the l proximity to the water, walking trails, vineyards and local attractions. I especially recommend the Mail Run (especially on weekdays) Kaituna Stream running behind the property for a quick dip, but you are less than a km from Mahua Sound
  • Lesley is a gracious and accommodating host. Peaceful and private accommodation a short drive to town.

    Alan2019-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • Lesley is the most authentic Lady in New Zealand. We enjoyed our stay there. Very good cooked breakfast and very interesting conversation. Those are the things that you will remember in the future... Fantastic communication before, during and after! Good sleep, perhaphs thanks to the relaxing sound speaker. We were in the studio and we didn’t have any problem going to the bathroom in the main house, even if it was raining the whole night, but read the description and, if you prefer, book the room inside the house. Recommended, we would come back again!

    Luis2019-11-10T00:00:00Z

    John2019-06-13T00:00:00Z
  • Lesley provided us a hot cooked breakfast and provided a warm room with heated blankets. Lesley was thoughtful and had lined trash cans (rubbish bins) throughout the house. We also got to work for accommodation the third night, which was great for our budget. Good for a short stay.

The Queen Charlotte Tavern is located in central Linkwater close to the beautiful and iconic Marlborough Sounds. A welcome resting place for the Te Araroa Trail walkers and the nearby Queen Charlotte Track. This delightful cabin is completely run off solar power, very private and cosy.
The bathroom facilities are shared. The tavern offer excellent coffee and all meals and entertainment with a large outdoor area.
The nearby old Cullensville gold-mining town is well worth an explore and visit to see the old shafts and locale.
  • Lovely cabin. I would stay again.

    William2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • This place rocks, excellent value for money, and the establishment is very clean and well cared for. The restaurant and tavern is brimming with character and despite having older fittings, everything was dry, clean and pleasant smelling. You absolutely have to have the food here, it's well priced and professionally prepared and presented with the highest quality ingredients. I had never seen such orange yolks as I did in the eggs Benedict I had there. I had a simple Bangers n mash for dinner and I thought I'd gone to heaven. I think everyone has a visualisation of how a favourite dish tastes, these guys will take your dream dish and better it, hands down! Lastly a lovely touch in the dining rooms was fresh roses picked from the garden, they were so highly scented it was just a pleasure to sit there and enjoy this unexpected sensory addition. Oh before forget, Maryann and staff were all very congenial, prompt and thoughtful. I would love to book here again. Thanks again for the lovely stay!

  • Perfect little stop for a nights stay, has a shower, warm sheets and everything you will need. There’s a lovely tavern and little cafe which is perfect for morning or nightly refueling.

    Jax2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • This is a small cosy hut that just fits 2. The amenities are all in the pub. The pub is old farm that some time in the past has been converted to a pub. If you like McDonalds, sterile clean motel rooms, and sky TV in your bed room you are out of luck. However if you like people, great location laughter and a great spot to explore the sounds, you will love it.

    Rom2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • It's a funky little wooden lodge with a nice pub to chill in during the evening. Cosy sheets and a key to lock the door, but be warned it is pretty basic. The only downsides about the hut are that it only has 2 usb slots on the wall for power (no plug socket) and the WiFi doesn't quite work from that distance. You also don't have use of a kitchen so it's really more of a 1 night stay thing..

Our guests have private access to there own detached unit, and full use of your own large separate kitchen facilities. Our beautiful property is surrounded by a mixture of mature native and exotic trees which is prolific with native bird life, while being perfectly situated on the banks of the Pelorus river .
The river is a stones throw from your doorstep with swimming a must do activity in summer . Your bathroom is located 20 meters from your room and is attached to the main house, with your own private entrance .
We are 1.5km from the Pelorus Scenic Reserve with walkways in the beautiful native bush, both Rai valley township and Havelock are a short drive away and both have Pubs/cafes with Havelock having a small supermarket
  • The property totally exceeded our expectations. The room is very nicely and attractively furnished. Right next door is a well-equipped kitchen that can be used alone. The bathroom is in the house of Barbara and Jason. Since they have another one themselves, we also had the bathroom to ourselves. The beautiful and spacious garden can be shared. Right on the property is a river in which you can bathe and use kayak if there is enough water. Barbara has many tips on where to find beautiful tracks in the area. We would have loved to have stayed more than one night and can only recommend the property.

The Riverside Bothie is nestled on the banks of the Wakamarina River in Canvastown , Marlborough Built on the site of a former gold miner's hut, the Riverside Bothie enables guests to have a glamping experience, see nature close up and explore the beautiful rural countryside and historical gold mining area that is Canvastown. We are a retired couple living nearby on the property and meet and greet our guests on arrival with a breakfast basket and to introduce our Riverside Bothie.
Local activities include gold panning, gold mining tours, tramping, bush walks, swimming, mountain biking, kayaking, freshwater fishing in the Wakamarina or the Pelorus rivers also saltwater fishing in the Marlborough Sounds which are 10 minutes drive away to the wharf at Havelock.
We live in a rural and historical gold mining area that still has active small gold claims being mined. There is a local country pub a short 5 minute drive away for food and beverages and the local township of Havelock is 10 minutes drive away for a selection of cafes, supermarket, marina and boating facilities and is the gateway to the Pelorus Sound and its many lovely bays. Our valley is a gateway to Mount Richmond Forest Park and is regarded as one of the top mountain biking tracks in New Zealand. There are several walking tracks that are also accessible into the park. The Riverside Bothie has direct access into the Wakamarina River which is suitable for trout fishing, swimming, kayaking and gold panning. We have lots of birdlife around us.
  • The bothie was really good fun to stay in. The double bed was very comfortable and my daughter was comfortable on the mezzanine bed. the breakfast provided was a real bonus, including home made bread! Alan and Alyse were the perfect hosts, friendly and helpful. Alan recommended the doom track loop - a 3 hour local DOC walk which we loved with swimming holes in abundance. We even went for a morning dip in the river outside the bothie too. Highly recommended this spot. You’ll be impressed with the toaster!

    Anne2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely beautiful. You’re totally in nature, in such an idyllic setting. Alan has done a wonderful job building the place – the craftsmanship is excellent and considering it’s totally “off the grid” the amenities are amazing.

  • Very warm welcome, Barb has a really nice home in a beautiful setting. We could use the double kayak which was quite nice. She has a cute little dog which likes to be petted. By the way: as already stated in other reviews the breakfast with cereals and homemade bread was delicious.

    Philipp2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great stay with Barbara and an unforgettable evening on the terrace with a wonderful view, a glass of wine and the best music ever. Slept well, great bed linen, own bathroom, great kitchen, where we were allowed to cook something. Washing clothes was allowed. Great tips, if you like kayaking, you can do that with Barbara. A great garden surrounds the house. Cultivated things are growing on almost every corner. Best place to explore Nelson and Malborough Sound. Thanks to Babs, that was great for you.

  • Barbara is the nicest person, she is lovely to talk to, interesting, has the best stories and she is full of love. The view is amazing, the home made breakfast is fantastic, the wine was superb! Kayaking was so much fun! This was the perfect stay!!!! Thanks so much lovely Barb!

    Berina2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a wonderful stay at Barbara’s place. The view was amazing and the hospitality even better. We enjoyed a home cooked meal with Barbara, which was delicious. I would highly recommend for a relaxing spot to stay in a beautiful location.

    Abby2020-02-04T00:00:00Z
  • This is what AirBnB is all about: fantastic host, great setting, feels like a home away from home. Barb is very welcoming, and clearly a fantastic cook (homemade bread was to die for). Lovely peaceful location only a 5-10 min drive from Havelock. Views are outstanding and we kayaked in the Sounds, accessed just at the bottom of the garden. Would highly recommend to anyone.

    Euan2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Where do I start! No amount of words can justify the hospitality that we received from Barb. I would not rate this as an Air BnB experience but this was like staying at a family’s house. Barb is kind , polite and selfless. We stayed at her place for 2 nights and had dinner at her place on both the days, and OMG she cooked scrumptious dinner with almost all ingredients home grown. The dinner table conversation followed by listening to Frank Sinatra and sitting at her patio overlooking the sea was beautiful and can never be forgotten. She was kind enough to even give us her kayak. Her kitchen can be aptly described as a Michelin start kitchen. This has been one of the most memorable experience for my husband and me and can never be forgotten. One should must visit and stay at Barb place in case visiting this side of NZ. My husband and I would personally like to thank Barb again for hosting us.

    Riddhi2020-01-11T00:00:00Z
  • Barb is a wonderful AirBnB host. Her warm, naturally easy-going and welcoming manner made us feel right at home from the start. We enjoyed the comings and goings of other guests, and the communal atmosphere that resulted. Barb's homemade bread is legendary and completely addictive. Michael enjoyed cooking with Barb in the kitchen, and exchanging tips. (There is space and scope for a more private retreat if this is preferred by Barb's guests.)

Nestled in the beautiful Onamalutu Valley on a farmlet is a traditional kiwi sleep-out: Ti Kouka Cabin. It's located half an hour or less from Blenheim, Marlborough Airport, Wine Country and the glorious Marlborough Sounds. Ti Kouka Cabin is detached from the main house and comprises a spacious self-contained room with queen bed, living area and kitchenette, plus a laundry zone and bathroom. Outdoors is a barbecue, seating and valley views. A real rural retreat!
We're a working small farm and very happy to show you around. We keep cattle, sheep and bees, and have an abundant orchard, herb and vegetable gardens. Ti Kouka Cabin itself is clean and homely. Relax in the super-comfy queen bed, draped in soft cotton sheets. Sit outdoors and immerse yourself in the gorgeous rural Marlborough valley landscape. Several of our guests have enjoyed the opportunity to push back a little and slow down to a rural pace - small trips out locally, plenty of rest & relaxation, reading a book, sorting out their washing and gear, planning their future activities etc. Others have used Ti Kouka Cabin as a base to get out and about and enjoy the region's numerous activities. Whatever you're in Marlborough for, this is an ideal place to stay.
Come along and enjoy some country living in Onamalutu's Ti Kouka Cabin! The Onamalutu Scenic Reserve (2kms away) features a stunning remnant of podocarp forest. Here you can have a splash in the Ohinemahuta River, meander along one of several short tracks, and enjoy a picnic. Mount Richmond Forest Park is on the doorstep for those interested in more vigorous activities like walking and tramping, mountain-biking, hunting and fishing. The Onamalutu Valley is also close to the heart of Marlborough Wine Country - explore by car, bike or tour. Or you could happily while away the hours in the world-renowned fabulous Marlborough Sounds.
  • A really great studio apartment. Lots of nice touches and some great items for breakfast. The views were wonderful. Highly recommended.

  • Everything you need in a quiet spot

    Carolyn2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Would recommend this accommodation , everything you need with extra touches, we stayed 3 nights out in the country couldn’t ask for more.

    Kevin2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • We loved this place. I would say "a little home from home" but it is better than that! So lovely to have breakfast provided. We had a great welcome from silke and peter. Everything we could possibly have needed, and more, was provided. Blissfully peaceful. We would hope to be back.

    Dave2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • Silke & Peter were great hosts, made good recommendations on this to do and places to eat. It was clean and tidy with some nice breakfast cereals, a good range of teas and plunger coffee. We really liked the rural setting in the valley as well.

    Andrew2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Silke's studio is located in a beautiful valley looking out on her farmland with cows and sheep. It offers a lot of privacy and is the perfect place if you're looking for a tranquil accommodation in the Blenheim region. The studio itself is practical with a comfortable bed and descent cooking facilities. I really enjoyed the provided breakfast and being able to do my laundry was a great extra! At night it is super quiet and dark (with the most beautiful starry sky!), so I slept really well. Silke is a very warm and welcoming host, I enjoyed chatting with her and she gave me some great tips about activities in the area. I highly recommend staying at this lovely place!

    Wendy2019-12-06T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay was outstanding. Silke/ Peter were very welcoming and the house was so well stocked with some food supplies, a washing machine and 2 heaters.Infact the pictures put up dont do enough justice to how beautiful and safe their home is... would recommend it to anyone trying to find a stay outside the noise of the town and cities.

    Monisha2019-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • If you’re planning on spending any time in the Marlborough area, this is such a great home base. Silke and Peter are lovely hosts and their farm is such a relaxing place to spend your down time. The space is really like an entire apartment, with plenty of privacy and views of the resident sheep. And at night time, make sure you look up: the stars shine brightly out here!

In a magical setting & fully furnished the studio cabin has full bathroom, queen bed & its own private deck, privacy & outstanding views over the Mahau Sound. Swim across the road, walk the beach or the forestry track. Listen to the birdsong and explore. Walk through the bush at night to see the glowworms. Most people wish they had booked 2 or more!
On the covered deck is a Webber BBQ on which you can BBQ, bake, roast or boil a pot. Inside the bench area has all the crockery, cutlery etc needed including a pot and frypan as well as electric frypan, toaster and jug. A microwave can boil or cook food. Instructions are in the cabin. We live on 3/4 acre of grounds with lawns, orchard and vegetable gardens overlooking Mahau Sound. There is beach launching for boats across the road and all tide swimming along the beach. We have our own walk through Native forest to our water tank or to see the glowworms at night. There are lots of walks within easy access notably the Queen Charlotte walkway. Enjoy the tranquility, watch the birds and enjoy the always changing views.
The Marlborough Sounds are one of the jewels in New Zealands many amazing landscapes. One fifth or the New Zealands coastline is in the Sounds. You could spend much time here and only see a fraction of it. There are so many lovely beaches & hills to explore and from Havelock you can do various tours, fishing trips or see the Sounds on the local mail boat. There are many walkways and mountain bike tracks in the area. Or you may like to do day trips to visit local wineries, to see the Omaka aircraft museum or visit resorts or swim in the Pelorus Bridge river area.

    Juliet2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Margaret and Russel, what a lovely couple of genuine, kind and hospitable people. We are delighted to have met them. The accommodation is in a very scenic setting, we woke up to the most amazing, tranquil and beautiful view. A morning stroll along the beach below provided further photo opportunities and a chance to recharge after the previous day's long drive. The cottage was well equipped and very clean. Highly recommend this place!

    Anna2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Margaret and Russell’s place is just delightful - I could not fault the cabin - immaculate with a beautiful view and everything you need including a very comfy bed. Great communication and access. I hope to return one day with my husband to explore the beautiful sounds with a bit more time. Thank you so much and all the best - I shall be recommending to everyone I can.

  • A bit of a jog to get here but we’ll worth the effort. You just don’t have access to views and places in settings as beautiful as this very often. Thankful they offered their place for us.

  • Lisita and Bob were excellent hosts and their place was just right for our needs as we launched out into the sounds. All that we needed in one place. A lovely night’s stay. Thank you both.

    Nick2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • The hosts are wonderful and kind. Very warm people. The space is nice and clean. If you don’t want to hear about how good Trump is, stay somewhere else, because that becomes part of the conversation.

    Carl2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Ligita and Bob were some of the warmest, most welcoming hosts we’ve experienced on Air BnB. After a harrowing drive from Picton, they were there to shield us with umbrellas as we got out of our car then take us to our spacious, well-appointed digs. It would be impossible for any accommodation to be cleaner or to be better equipped. To top it off, Bob drove us into town and gave us a quick tour before dropping us off for dinner. What a comforting touch! We would be delighted to stay with Ligita and Bob again any time.

Beautiful clear swimming river. Cabins set amongst trees complete with glow worms. Walking and riding tracks nearby. Pub at start of the road. Approx 1 hour to Picton or Nelson. Havelock 20 minutes away to explore the Sounds by boat or sample great food at several restaurants. Large kitchen and recreation room, with shared shower & toilet block. Spring feed water for drinking & showers. Historic gold mining area with lots of old relics. Outdoor fire pits, bring some wood & marshmellows.
Cabins are basic & some have part kitchens. Heaters are provided. The large recreation room has a pot belly stove for winter and a small library. This is next to a large shared kitchen with several stoves & utensils, etc. Picnic tables are scattered through out the 2 acres of grounds. There are large outdoor fire pits if you want to sit out under the stars (help split some wood or $10 for an armful of firewood). An outdoor bath is available if that cabin isn't booked for $5, this is set amongst trees.
Walks, rides, swimming, fishing (both sea & trout) are right around us. Grab a bike and cycle to cellar doors and try some of the worlds best wines 30 minutes from your cabin. There are long & shorter tracks up the road including the Wakamarina track - one of the top rides in NZ
  • Had a great stay. A gem of a spot. The dawn chorus of birds in the morning was exceptional.

  • A beautiful location and just so peaceful. Pete was a great help in the lead up with a few of my changes. Such a shame a late ferry meant we missed a chance to sit round the fire.

  • Fantastic place to stay, river is absolutely stunning and glow worms at night are a bonus. Friendly host too, thanks Peter

    Renee2018-04-25T00:00:00Z
  • What a beautiful place, right next to a river - perfect to relax after a full day travelling. We loved staying at your place. Thanks Pete for welcoming us and showing us around your beautiful home :) We’ll definitely be back on our next trip to New Zealand!!

    Alexandra2018-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • Peter’s place is an amazingly kept-up camp with the cutest cabins. You can tell he puts a lot of time and effort into upkeep, small touches, etc. We enjoyed the short hike to the river and especially the glow worms after dark..they were magical! We cooked dinner and breakfast in the giant kitchen full of utensils and cookware. Hope we can go back again one day and try the gold panning!

    Jamie2018-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Great wee secluded spot. Perfect to escape the hustle and bustle of the city -especially with no cell coverage! Peter is available but not in your face and his dogs and Stuey the goat are wonderful additions to the place.

    Jodie2018-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing place to stay in with wonderful hosts. Pete offered great advice on activities to do in the area, including some great hikes around the river and in the native bush. Be sure to look for the glow worms at night in the trees. Cabins were cozy and rustic. The curry meals that are offered for dinner are amazing, a must try if you are staying here! We had a wonderful time here, definitely will stay here again if we are in the area.

    Harrison2018-02-03T00:00:00Z
  • What a magical place! Highly recommend. Friendly accommodating hosts, gorgeous cabins & large flat tent / campervan areas. Lots of shade from the large trees & being in a valley the sun doesn't cook you stupidly early in the morning :) Beautiful crystal clear river down the path (1min) & walls of glowworms along the path at night were spectacular.

Welcome to Castello Di Vino, where you will find your own private piece of paradise. With 360 degree views of surrounding vineyards and forest, a spa pool to watch the sun set or a wood-fired hot tub to see the stars, staying here is a luxurious and unique experience. As a bonus, it is just a 5-minute drive to the start of the Golden Mile, boasting some of Marlborough's finest vineyards and restaurants. Castello Di Vino is perfect for couples or families who want an unforgettable stay.
Castello Di Vino is set on a beautiful 6 acre property, situated 20 minutes from Blenheim and 25 minutes from Picton. The property includes a large pond, freshwater stream, small vineyard, small orchard, as well as plenty of open grass spaces and foliage. We can accommodate up to seven guests. Once you book, the entire apartment is for your exclusive use, with no other guests sharing the space.
Located outside of the town centre, Castello Di Vino is a hidden getaway. It is perched between several vineyards and has stunning views from the house, making you feel as if you are a world away from civilisation. We as owners are new to the Marlborough region so will progressively add some of our recommended places to eat or visit as we find them. Feel free to let us know of any favourites you find while you are staying with us!
  • Castello Di Vino is a hidden gem of Malborough. The whole place looks 10 times better in person than the photos. The rooms are clean, comfortable and beautifully furnished. We were a group of 7. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Castello has everything you need to enjoy a relaxing stay away from the town buzz. It was nice to explore the vineyards and cellars and come back to relax in the spa and watch the night sky. Sheryl's hospitality and care made the whole stay much more memorable. She was ontime, responsive, respectful and went out of her way to help us. It was absolutely worth our money and we can' wait to visit again!

  • Amazing place. Absolutely beautiful location, very comfortable and spacious. Lovely touches like heated spa, big breakfast trolley, bottle of bubbles on arrival, luxurious linen, towels, etc. Five mins from heaps of wineries. Sheryl gave us lots of local tips and was so friendly and inviting. Will be recommending this to everyone going to Marlborough region.

    Cassandra2019-11-28T00:00:00Z
  • Our family spent a wonderful three nights at Sheryl & Brett's Castello di Vino, which exceeded our expectations. They provided all the personal touches we could have asked for and even arranged for a high chair for our infant. Highly recommend this property for anyone looking to visit Marlborough wine country.

    James2019-11-13T00:00:00Z
  • Sheryl and Brett are fantastic, helpful and considerate hosts. Views from the hot tub are stunning, the house is spotless and the breakfast is delicious. They were also able to lend us bikes for a vineyard tour and then came to collect the family afterward! The Alpaca are a delight and you should definitely help feed Billy the Sheep if you get a chance. Would highly recommend a stay in their home and would love to stay again!

    Louis2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • This was the perfect base for a few days in Marlborough. The photos don’t do it justice... the location is breathtaking and that was in winter with bare vines. Brett and Sheryl were so welcoming and accommodating. They gave great recommendations about the local wineries and helped us out with a special request. I wish we had longer, but it just means we’ll have to come back :). Thanks for everything!

    Mark2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • Absolutely beautiful and the hot tub provides both stunning views and is incredibly comfortable. Along with comfy rooms, and everything you need I would highly recommend this place.

Experience spectacular million dollar views from all main rooms, straight down the Queen Charlotte Sound. Watch the ferry travelling to and from Picton, relax on the deck with a glass of wine and take in the scenery. The Cottage is just 25-30 minutes drive from the ferry in Picton so is a good stopover location. It is also en route to Nelson. It is perfect for a long relaxing holiday as there is lots to do and the house is well equipped - walk the Queen Charlotte Track, kayak, bike, swim etc.
The stunning ever-changing view is what makes this house. Great views from all the main rooms. Plus it is 5 minutes from the start of the famous Queen Charlotte Walking Track.
This is a great location for chilling out. Enjoy drinking a glass of the local internationally famous wines; take in the stunning view from the house and expansive deck; and boating, kayaking, mountain biking or walking the Queen Charlotte Track which you can start minutes from the house. Wine tasting, Peter Jackson’s Omaka Aviation Museum, the Pelorus Native Forest walk and waterfalls, Picton waterfront, the artists trail, the Picton to Havelock Link walk/bike ride are all on the doorstep. Or Nelson just over 1 hour away. Enjoy peace and relaxation.

  • A great experience, the location is very easy to find, a mailbox No. 26 on the middle of the hillside will reach the destination. The house is clean and furnished with a special warm balcony with invincible sea views. You can drink tea and watch the sea. You can also park at the comfortable doorway. It is spacious and rich in vegetation. It is particularly beautiful.

The Packing Shed (originally a fruit pack house) is nestled within a native garden, overlooking the vines within our secluded family vineyard. With a private entrance from the road, you can stroll through our vineyard and gardens or nearby riverbank with use of the heated pool (in season) or sit and relax with a good bottle of wine purchased from one of the many wonderful vineyards in Marlborough.
A selection of local restaurants are within walking distance, and the Vines Village with boutique shopping and cafe is a recommendation from us.
  • Perfect, quiet, idyllic location for exploring the local wineries, right in the middle of the Golden Mile and directly across the street from Hans Herzog. With a car, it’s a short drive to Blenheim or Renwick, and there is plenty to explore nearby. If you intend to bike to wineries or don’t mind a lot of walking, there are 10 cellar doors within 5 km. The space is simple, but offers a lovely view into a vineyard and is clean, stylish, and well appointed.

  • I wish we could give this six stars.... Lovely outlook into the vineyards, and perfect to explore Blenheim for a couple. The couch is big enough for a third, although not sure how this would sit with the hosts. We had access to their pool, which we didnt use, but again, would be great to spend a lazy afternoon. The Herzog estate is across the road. Has a nice bistro. Please do note that cooking is limited to a microwave, and no laundry facilities. This may be a problem for longer stays. A car is a must have as well. The Arbour is a great restaurant, a ten minute drive, which is great for special occasions or if you're a foodie. The wine matching is highly recommended. Anna wasn't around during our stay, so we didn't get a chance to meet her in person. The place is lovely, has a bose speaker to connect via bluetooth, a nespresso machine ( pods provided), and views to die for. Grab some bites and a bottle or two and sit out and watch the world go bye... We spotted a falcon and a friendly rabbit! Thank you Anna. We hope to return for a longer stay.

  • We really enjoyed spending 2 nights in Anna and Felix's guest house. The house offers every comfort and is lovingly and stylishly furnished. It is wonderfully located. The view of the vines is fantastic. Wonderfully peaceful. We loved watching the rabbit family. Charlie, the hearty dog of the family, who stopped by from time to time, also gave us great pleasure. Pure idyll in complete privacy. If you need anything, Anna is always available. Anna and Felix are super great hosts. We definitely recommend the accommodation.

  • Beautiful place in a perfect spot for visiting Blenheim. Waking up to the views of the vineyard is not an experience that will be forgotten.

  • Anna’s place is beautiful and stylish. Had all the amenities we needed and more. Anna is super thoughtful and lovely, so easy to communicate with. The location was brilliant, and we had a beautiful vineyard to stroll through. We wished we stayed here for longer and could not recommend this place enough.

  • Nothing like the luxury of waking up to the most magnificent views of the Marlborough Sounds. The place is very clean and tidy. The only downfall is the hot water system is placed in one of the bedrooms therefore it would wake us up whenever someone turned on the tap.

  • A lovely modern house located in beautiful part of the Marlborough Sounds. Quiet place with lots of space. Well kitted our with all you will need. The deck is absolutely amazing. Clean and pleasant and so easy to deal with getting in and settled

  • Great space and amazing, beautiful location.

    Hazel2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic views. And free use of the Kayaks. The house is very new and as comfortable as any Airbnb I’ve stayed at. That bed was so comfy! Drinks on the deck and star watching can’t be beat. What a great place!

    Andrew2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful view and access to the water via waterside trail.

    Pete2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • What a fantastic house from which to explore the Sounds. Only 6 months old, so very well presented. Modern and stylish. Use of kayaks is a bonus. Would definitely recommend.

    Martin2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful view

    Robyn2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful home with gorgeous views. The house is well designed and cleaned and exactly as expected. Sandra was a great communicator. We had trouble getting into the house but she was easy to contact and had a quick solution. The home is just off the Queen Charlotte Drive but we had no problems with noise. We were there during the week and during the day there is more traffic but you can’t hear it inside the house and sitting inside looking out you are above the highway and just take in the view. We didn’t check out the beach or try the kayaks. Cozy home in the rain! Good location for nearby attractions. Would love to stay again!

We love living on our Lifestyle Property in the beautiful Onamalutu Valley! Our new cottage is privately situated, overlooking our gardens with lovely views up the valley to Mount Riley and native bird song! We have easy access to all the wonderful things to do around Blenheim, are 20 mins from town, and only 8 to the Golden Mile! We wanted to provide a sunny getaway home, whether you want to relax by the river, join us for a BBQ, or sample all the local wines!
Our cottage has a lovely Queen size bedroom, enjoying morning sun, a fully equipped kitchen, wifi, and movies galore on the TV! Beautiful fresh bore water and access to our own river to paddle or swim. We have lots of local knowledge so we can advise on great places to visit, restaurants, etc.. 40 minutes to Picton Ferry, 25 minutes to Havelock - The Mussel Capital of the World!
  • We LOVED Sue’s place. My husband and I have been traveling for the last five months, staying in a mix of hotels and Airbnb’s - hands down, Sue’s place was one of our absolute favorites. The cottage is both spacious and cozy, with lots of great amenities (free Netflix and movies, a bottle of wine, plush robes). Sue and her husband were so welcoming, letting us play with their adorable dogs as much as we wanted and even inviting us over for a gathering with some of their friends. Highly recommend!
