“Kebab rice noodles is totally made from the Vietnam traditional ingredients but it is presented in the form of a Western dish: each one has its own sauce, vegetables, spices, and kebab rice noodles. Kebab rice noodles often has 2 kinds of kebabs, they are ball-kebab and piece-kebab. The ball-kebab is made of pork which is well minced then it would be kneaded into ball shape. The pork is scented with some traditional ingredients to make up the good taste.”

“Another signature Hanoian and Northern Vietnam dish. Banh cuon Gia truyen Thanh Van is located at 12-14 Hang Ga Str, Hang Bo ward, Hoan Kiem district. Banh cuon is a steamed rice crepe filled with minced pork, mushrooms, onions etc and served with a tasty dripping sauce. It is amazing to watch the preparation and then be served several plates full by quick and efficient staff. Delicious and cheap. Have a nice walk around this area of the old quarter after your snack!”

“Pho is essentially Vietnam’s signature dish, comprising rice noodles in a flavourful soup with meat and various greens, plus a side of nuoc cham (fermented fish) or chilli sauce. A basic bowl contains tai (beef slices), bo vien (beef meatballs) or nam (beef flank), topped with bean sprouts, lime wedges, and fresh herbs such as basil, mint, cilantro, and onions. Depending on the restaurant or roadside stall, you can also opt for more exotic ingredients such as gan (beef tendon), sach (thinly-sliced pig stomach), and ve don (flank with cartilage). Typically eaten for breakfast, pho is priced between VND 20,000 and VND 30,000 at a local restaurant or street market in Vietnam. Location: 13 Lo Duc Opening: 6:00-20:30”

“This is in the old quarter. One of the best places. Lots of street food and decent one or 2 restaurants. Nearest hotel is Hanoi Sky Hotel. Just walk out and the food street is at your door step. The atmosphere is good. Lots of alfresco dining. Not crowded, too touristy, safe, not rowdy and noisy like those near Hoan Kiem lake area and almost 24 hours eating. Walking distance to night market and towards Hoan Kiem lake where most of the tourist stuff is. Walking to Hoan Kiem about 2km thereabout. ”
