The heated tree cabin is set within a small secluded wood up a steep path. Cedar lined, insulated and oak clad it cantilevers out over a remote mill pond. Wake up in a tranquil heaven only shared with shy wildlife, including deer, hare, the odd badger and a variety of birds. In the cabin are a king-size sofa bed, table and chairs, kitchen area with kettle, microwave oven and chiller. Your own smaller tree cabin, a few trees away, houses a flushing toilet and hand basin with spring water.
Whilst in bed gently falling asleep watch the moon rise over the mill pond through the tree branches and then watch the sun rise the following morning! A romantic getaway for the adventurous couple. Tucked away in a small woodland at the edge of a mill pond you will feel totally secluded as the cabin is difficult to spot from the surrounding areas but the reality is that you are close to a no through road, a village store and the delights of Hebden Bridge. Supplied with electricity and hot and cold spring water you are still part of the 21st Century but at the same time remote from it all. (In fact, so remote, that there is barely any mobile signal or wifi). There is a quality king size sofa bed, chairs for relaxing and dining and a kitchen area with basic cooking equipment and electric heating. Most 'camping style' cooking and eating essentials are provided including a microwave oven and a chiller cabinet. There is also a small portable induction hob and frying pan. A full breakfast is not included, but inside the cabin you will find cereals, fruit juice, milk, fruit yoghurt and of course tea, coffee and sugar. A few trees away there is your own, smaller tree house with a flushing toilet and hand basin fed with pure spring water. Hot running water, face flannels and towels are provided. There is an external hot and cold alfresco shower or for the hardy (or foolhardy!) take a dip in the mountain stream. If the weather is inclement we can usually arrange a time for you to use the shower in the main house.
We are surrounded by public footpaths, bridleways for biking and plenty of fresh air. There is a farm shop under a mile away that stocks everything and is open 12 hours a day. The nearest bus stop with a regular half hourly service to Hebden Bridge is a mile away. We are on a no-through, single track, tarmac road.
  • It's hard to find the words to explain how amazing this place is. Tranquil, beautiful and a little bit of heaven tucked into a gorgeous bit of Yorkshire. It was lovely and cosy and very comfortable. Tony was an amazing host, I didn't get chance to meet Barbara but I will be back so hopefully will get the pleasure next time. The outdoor shower was just amazing. The weather was fairly mild but it was an exhilarating experience none the less. I can't wait to visit again.

  • The pictures and descriptions have literally made me feel excited ever since booking this trip and whilst they were incredibly accurate, nothing prepared me for the overwhelming beauty of the space, as we arrived. Tony was incredibly welcoming and supportive and explained everything to us with so much patience, although we had arrived quite late. The view from the bed in the mornings was probably my highlight, and I don't believe I could put into words how very calming, nourishing and relaxing the little cabin was. On the last day, we braved the elements and tried the alfresco shower and it was such a surreal experience. Despite the cold temperature outside, the water was hot enough to not even notice the cold, and the views were simply breathtaking. Both the main cabin and the smaller "bathroom" were decorated with so much love for details and provided us with everything we could have possibly dreamt of. We had no reception whatsoever, which was great to just be in the moment and take everything in. We went to Hebden Bridge twice for food and coffees and had lovely vegan food and stacked up on some snacks and water. The fairy lights outside the door, as well as the smaller lamps inside the cabin always invited us to stay in, read a lot of books or play chess. Overall this was one of the most beautiful holidays I have ever been on and we are more than excited to hopefully come back next year again.

  • Stunning place even in the rain. Beautiful surroundings truly at one with nature. On arrival Tony & Barbara shared information about the local area and walls. Then to the cabin which was very spacious and tranquil. 100% recommend this place. Would like to book again when I can find a date it’s free, that’s just how amazing this place is. Thank you so much!

  • We had a lovely stay in the cabin and really enjoyed our time there! Feels very secluded despite being close enough to the house in case we needed anything; the perfect balance! Tony and Barbara provided some very handy tips for walks around the area, as well as delicious flapjacks and great selection of hot drinks and breakfast options. Really accommodating of dairy free too, which was much appreciated! Good location, with Hebden Bridge only a short drive or bus journey away. Such wonderful accommodation. Will definitely be looking to stay again next year!

  • We had an amazing stay at Barbara and Tony's, really friendly hosts and beautiful location with lots to do nearby. The cabin itself was really unique and Barbara and Tony provided us with useful ideas for walks and were really quick with communication

    Simran2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • We stayed at the tree cabin for a little break away. It was absolutely beautiful, great location & the hosts were lovely adding thoughtful touches to the stay including Tony’s homemade delicious flapjacks 😃

    Lauren2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • You have to experience the cabin to understand it's charms. It was everything the details told us but Tony and Barbara's extra bits were great. Homemade flapjack on our arrival was delicious along with all the tea, coffee etc which was so helpful but on arriving the peace was something else. Absolutely no phone signal or WiFi in the unit helped us relax but you cannot stay in the cabin and not relax. We never touched the car until we left walking everywhere and wallowing in the views but the final joy was on the morning we left jumping into the outdoor shower was an experience that will stay with me for a very long time. Thank you for sharing you little bit of paradise.

    Rosemary2019-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • Such lovely hosts, gave us a proper tour of the area when driving back from the station and invited us in to show us some local routes. A very relaxing stay and well worth the money.

Welcome! UPDATE: I’ve taken the precaution to close the cabin to all guests due to the current coronavirus situation. I will be monitoring this as time goes on and will update upcoming guests in April and May nearer to the time of their stay. UPDATE: Cleanliness and hygiene has always been a priority for all of our guests but in light of the current coronavirus situation, I’ve taken the extra precautions to deep clean between each booking. This means an extra hour to ensure every inch of the cabin is disinfected and sterile for your safety. Therefore check in is now from 3pm. I’d also like to reassure guests that at the cabin you are isolated from other people and can self-check in so that you don’t meet the host if you prefer. Also please note that the cabin has been fully redecorated and has a brand new luxury bed and Eve hybrid mattress. Updated photos to follow! Please read the listing description throughly before booking or enquiring. *The cabin has a minimum two night stay* We have a lovely and unique tiny house experience but it may not be for everyone! Please ask if unsure, I’m very happy to help. The cabin has all the facilities to make you feel comfortable and perfectly at home. A perfect opportunity to reconnect with nature and a peaceful place to relax and unwind in a secluded and private woodland setting. You will have total privacy and seclusion at the cabin. Within 30 acres of privately owned land, it is a real retreat from the general noise and stresses of everyday life. You might just have the best night’s sleep you’ve ever had! PLEASE NOTE - we’ve given up on WiFi for moment as it’s so unreliable. Why not log out for a while and enjoy real HD life in the countryside:) Help yourself to enjoy a wide selection of card and board games or books to read. With some of your favourite tunes on the Bluetooth speaker, cuddle up with a hot chocolate or glass of wine and enjoy a restful, cosy, lazy time in the woods. We also have sheep and our own horses in adjacent fields . Feel free to give them a pat but please DO NOT feed the horses as they are on a special diet. Also we ask guests not to enter the field with the horses. They are large animals so youngsters should be supervised by an adult at all times.
Located in a tiny and beautiful rural hamlet high in the Saddleworth hills. We are perfectly situated on the Pennine bridleway for cyclists, walkers and horse riders - a very popular choice for those travelling this amazing route. There are two delightful local pubs only 10- 15 mins walk away, serving great pub grub and local ales. Comfortable seating, roaring fires and beer gardens. Proper Yorkshire hospitality! Its about a 25 min walk to Uppermill ( the largest village in Saddleworth). A lively village with lots of boutiques, gift shops, cafes, wine bars, pubs, restaurants and a great tourist information centre at the Saddleworth museum. To Diggle, it’s a 15-20 min walk down the hill to the village. Great ice-cream at Grandpa Greenes and lovely canal walks to Uppermill. There is a Tesco supermarket 10 mins drive away in Greenfield.
  • Our stay at Nic's tiny house was beyond amazing. Check in was a breeze with effective communication. The house was spectacularly clean and with perfect views. We particularly enjoyed the runner ducks over breakfast! Nic had impeccable knowledge of the local area. Highly recommend the pots and pans walk! Although a little breezy. The tiny house has all the little amenities one needs for a quiet getaway. There are plenty of board and card games available. We spent hours playing chess and looking over the view. Don't hesitate to book this perfect getaway, hopefully we will be back one day.

  • Such a lovely little cabin. We had a really relaxing time. There is loads to do nearby and pubs within walking distance. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

    Sarah2020-03-11T00:00:00Z
  • Nic was a great host, responds quickly and you can tell is such a nice genuine person. The accommodation it self was so special and such a great find. We didnt have the best weather but I think that made it even more special hearing the rain and wind but staying super cosy in the hut, absolutely brilliant. The views are pretty spectacular and fully recommend sitting with a cup of tea just looking out in the morning. We went to many of the places Nic suggests and all were lovely, great area for a couple of drinks and taxis easy to get as well. The peasant woke us up in the morning which I loved especially the nosey chickens and ducks.

  • The house was so beautiful! The photographs do not do it justice! Stayed for a hen do and the house made the trip. It was so special - beautifully decorated, spotless and facilities were excellent. The surroundings were lovely particularly when enjoying from the hot tub! Each bedroom was done wonderfully and each guest felt really looked after and in a 5* stay. The view from the King bedroom was particularly lovely to wake up to! The house offers such a large communal area which was lovely for the occasion. To top it all off, David was so helpful from the day of booking and particular in my last minute flurry or questions. If you want a special trip with beautiful facilities - stay here!

    Kim2019-11-10T00:00:00Z
  • This is an amazing place for a large group to stay together. It's easy to access from the motorway and is in a stunning location. The house was spotless, stylishly furnished and the kitchen was well equipped. The host was very helpful and attentive before and during the weekend and communication was good and he replied quickly. It worked really well for us to go away with friends and family to celebrate our birthdays. We enjoyed a meal provided by the recommended chef who came to the house and cooked us an excellent meal. We were able to walk from the house along the canal and we all enjoyed the views, especially from the hot tub! A great place for a house party weekend.

This is Glamping at its best, get away from it all, in this luxury heated Sleepy Squirrel Pod, essentially self catering, modern equipped kitchen, ensuite, luxurious double bed, quality bed linen, bathrobes, towels, blackout blinds. This pod is 6m x 3m and has a compact kitchen, table and chairs for cosy dining, an ensuite bathroom with a double shower, constant supply of hot running water and a mains lavatory, electric radiators, little electric stove and a heated blanket:) In the spirit of "getting away from it all " the pod does not have a TV but I do provide a radio, books and games Please note: that WiFi is available on the front porch of the pod and the surrounding areas, the signal doesn't seem to permeate the 2 layers of solid wood, layer of foil or the wool insulation. If you require full WIFI signal and SKY Catchup TV, see my other listing "King bed with Ensuite and full english breakfast" in the main Lodge. Sleeps 2 adults in a double bed, and there's enough room for another person or child on a zed bed or airbed or cot bed, this fits in at the foot of the double bed. The pod is made of larch wood, and insulated with a good layer or wool, there's also a layer of foil to keep you Cosy and warm, or cool if soaring summer temperatures need to be kept in check... But this is Yorkshire so we live in hope:)) there's a double glazed bespoke circular door and a window to the side overlooking woodland, this provides you with good natural lighting and air circulation. You will find plenty of coat hooks for walking jackets, a single wardrobe with drawers and a hairdryer. There's head height of 2.5m which gives a feeling of space, unlike the great outdoor tents. The pod is self catering, a local supermarket is just a short walk. Although, in the fridge and on the shelves you will find enough milk to make a warm drink or two, orange juice, bread/crumpets, homemade jam and marmalade, butter and a good selection of coffee, tea, biscuits and chocolates to help you relax! These are complimentary just enjoy :) There are plenty of books and a radio in the pod. The pod has a stone patio area with a table and chairs for you to have breakfast or a late night star gazing experience... Guests are asked politely not to smoke, or light candles, the structure is made entirely of wood , therefore for safety reasons naked flames are not allowed under any circumstances . For ambiance I can provide you with some LED flickering tea lights. Guests are free light candles safely on the patio or garden.
The immediate area is extremely quiet and peaceful, my home is adjacent to a woodland, and a very pretty open (not spooky) cemetery with two beautiful Gothic chapels, one faces North and one South, neither of which are used for any ecclesiastical purposes, but have been converted into office space. The cemetery is used regularly throughout the day and into the evening by dog walkers, and walkers wanting to take a leisurely stroll along the river, or cross the bridge to Middleton Woods (known by locals as Bluebell Woods). From the bedroom window squirrels can be seen scurrying up and down nearby trees, rabbits can be watched playing at dawn and dusk and there's also an owl that can sometimes be heard hooting at night. The pod is in my garden with lawns patios, flowerbeds, trees and the sleeping area overlooks the adjacent woodland. My home is near a Yorkshire Water plant, only water is filtered here to produce drinkable clean water, and any odorous waste is removed and treated at a plant 12 miles away. The wind predominantly blows south to easterly along the river Wharfe, which is in the opposite direction of my home and downstream towards Burley in Wharfedale. Ashlands Road is also the home of the award winning micro brewery "Ilkley Brewery" a bottle of Mary Jane is highly recommended! Although the Pod is self catering, I have left you a supply of tea, coffee, biscuits and chocolates, homemade Jam and Cardamom Marmalade, crumpets, fresh milk in the fridge, enough to start your break. The local independent supermarket is just a 5 minute walk away.
  • Warm and cosy pod, surprisingly big inside, with everything you need in a great location ten minutes walk from the town centre and lots of scenic walks. 根垚2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • Stayed at Jo’s for a girly get together and gathering. The place was immaculate with cupcakes for all guests. Everywhere was so spotlessly clean. We couldn’t have asked for anything else. My guests and I couldn’t get over how luxurious the place was. I asked Jo how to add some more water to the hot tub the next day so I could have a cheeky go before I left and she popped around 2 seconds later and cleaned it/ refilled so I could go in. For Jo nothing was too much trouble or effort. Much appreciated and will definitely be returning. Thank you :)

    Natalie2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • The house was safe and lots of room for cars. On entering it was just beautiful. Clean spacious and bright. Jo was very welcoming and always easy to contact for questions. Cupcakes for all the guests were a great welcome! The bedrooms were simple but stunning. Beds and pillows were so comfortable. Towels and robes were a nice touch. Bathrooms clean and spotless. Kitchen had everything and more within it. Open plan lounge kitchen was perfect. Overall fantastic stay. If I’m Leeds on a girls trip away again would definitely book this house.

A traditional weavers cottage in the hill top village of Midgley overlooking the Calder Valley. An ideal location for hill walking, fell running, cycling or just relaxing in a beautiful setting. A short walk away from Midgley Moor with it's historic standing stones and burial chambers, or a short distance from Hebden Bridge with it's independent shops, cafe's and restaurants. Ideal for a weekend away in a traditional Yorkshire Stone cottage with mullion windows. Well behaved dog welcome.
66 Towngate is a cosy cottage with underfloor heating downstairs. The house is practical and comfortable. The views are absolutely stunning and although the cottage is just below the moor, access to Hebden Bridge and Mytholmroyd is very good.
Midgley is a small hilltop village. The people are very friendly. You will meet the locals, dog walkers, mountainbikers and horse riders. The local shop is run by very helpful volunteers from the area. Next to the shop is the community room which is open at times for tea and cake or an evening talk or quizz.
  • We had a lovely stay in the cottage! A lovely place to stay and great value! Will definitely be back.

This two Bedroomed apartment,in the home of happy valley, last tango in Halifax, Ackley Bridge, and Gentleman Jack, in Halifax, is over two floors, and is in a wonderfully restored building. It is very centrally located so is ideal for anyone working, in the town, or here to enjoy our heritage. Close by are bus and trains, with easy access to Leeds and Manchester, and local towns, like Hebden Bridge. It is a short walk from the newly restored Piece Hall, and the children's museum Eureka.
Large airy apartment in lovely old restored building. It is on the top two floors so there are stairs to go up. Some one will be hand to carry your luggage up. We run the pub opposite so keys can be collected and dropped of there.
Town center location, with many shops, restaurants, pubs and clubs in the nearby vicinity. Pay and display parking, which is free between, 6pm and 8am. And its free on Sundays

Our comfortable traditional stone terrace house is conveniently located for exploring Calderdale. The house has a lounge with a beautiful wood burning stove ( wood not provided) There is a small kitchen, a large bathroom with and one comfortable double bedroom with an orthopaedic mattress. There is Wifi, small patios to front and back with table and chairs. The house is situated in an elevated position above the town of Sowerby Bridge and has a wonderful view over hills in the distance.
Cosy but spacious accommodation for two people. The house is in a quiet street above the town of Sowerby Bridge with far reaching views over the countryside. There is outside space front and back with seating at the front and tables and chairs at the back. Theres free on street parking. The bedroom faces South westerly and has a double bed with orthopaedic mattress. There is a spacious wardrobe and large chest of drawers and generous shelves. We have a large bathroom with corner bath and shower. Lounge has views over distant countryside. Theres a wood burning stove ( we don't provide wood unfortunately as we don't live nearby)
Sowerby Bridge is a small Pennine Town with an industrial past. Situated in Calderdale, on the river Calder, Sowerby Bridge is quieter and less touristy than nearby Hebden Bridge but also has an interesting canal basin and lovely nearby countryside. The town is within easy access of all that Calderdale has to offer. The town boasts several good cafes, pubs and restaurants and is well connected by rail and bus. The nearby countryside offers plentiful walks and there are many excellent country pubs. The house is in an elevated position above the town in a safe neighbourhood and is close to bus stops for nearby Halifax, Hebden Bridge and Ripponden. Bronte country is within reach by car or public transport and it is also possible to reach Leeds and Manchester by train There is an annual rushbearing festival in the town which is well worth experiencing Some popular places to eat and drink in the area include The newly opened and highly recommended Moorcock Inn, Norland, see the review by Jay Rayner in the Guardian Up the road in Warley village is the fantastic Maypole inn, great views from the garden, large portions and great value, this is walkable for the fit on a nice evening ( uphill to get there - 30 min walk). Also in Warley is the Winterburn Pub which has amazing views over the area Gimbals restaurant down the road in Sowerby Bridge, fine dining in a lovely setting. The Village Indian restaurant is probably the nearest eatery , excellent Indian food and they also do takeaways. Another recommended Indian restaurant is Syhiba, also on Wharf st. The Hobbit in Norland - has a Sunday Carvery and views over Sowerby Bridge. Best value and biggest menu choices locally is the Sportsmans inn, Barkisland - also does an excellent Sunday Carvery The Moorings pub in Sowerby Bridge is in an old water mill by the canal which serves food. There's a lovely cafe down the road from us on Wharf St called Moonbean, selling breakfast, lunch, sandwiches, cakes, nachos and with gluten free, veggie and vegan options ( though not a veggie only place). The cafe is licensed and has a large selection of gins amongst other alcoholic drinks. They also do smoothies. The Larder delicatessen on Wharf street also has a cafe attached. Gabriel's cafe, near to the bottom of Gratrix lane ( so probably our nearest) serves coffee and cakes and sandwiches with indoor and outdoor seating. The nearest pub/bar to the house is the Peacock at the top of Bairstow Lane on Burnley Rd. Other good pubs in the town of Sowerby Bridge are - The Hogshead ( real ale brewed on the premises) ; Hollins Mill ( large selection of real ales) ; The Firehouse ( also serves food), The Blind Pig for live music and late opening. The town is also fortunate to have a good Wetherspoons Pub, The Commercial- serving food and drink all day ( including breakfast) . There's a Lidl and a Tesco in Sowerby Bridge- there's other large stores and supermarkets including Sainsburys in Halifax. Halifax is within very easy reach by car or public transport and the newly renovated Piece Hall and nearby Square Chapel are particularly worth visiting.
  • This is a great little house . It felt really welcoming as soon as we went through the front door . Everything you need is there and I cant think of a single thing that could’ve improved our stay . I used the car a lot during our stay but I never had a problem parking right outside the house . Thank you Cath 😀

We only stayed one night so didn’t use the bath/shower but everything you could need/want is there. Master bed is really comfy, little notes left and folder of information is fantastic and there is lots of entertainment in the way of Netflix/dvds/books and a toy box which our son loved. Brilliant stay and brilliant host.

  • Samantha was quick to respond and very helpful - the room itself was wonderfully clean, warm and lovely. Exactly what I needed after a long, wet walk!

  • What a lovely place to stay the room was lovely and the views were amazing.

  • My partner and I stayed for one night only and messaged ahead with some particular requests that Sam was so accommodating with. The space is very comfortable and has everything you need for a long/short stay. There is a real sense of privacy in the accommodation and with your own access door you can come and go as you please without disturbing anyone. Would recommend and would definitely stay here again.

  • Well worth the visit. Clean bright and wanted for nothing. Farmers market just down the road and pub/restaurant just 5mins away.

  • Excellent repeat stay, lovely facilities and location

    Paul2020-02-18T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Sam's home was lovely and she even extended by 1 night for us when we requested! The room was very clean, bed incredibly comfy and warm with extra duvets (and a heater in the room for extra cosiness). We found Sam very approachable and great with local tips. There is a pub a stones throw away (basically next door) and the farm shop is amazing. We were expecting the layout of the building to be slightly different with the guest area completely private and separate but it is alongside the same building with both facing the same direction, like neighbours! This is not an issue however and we would stay again. Thank you very much for having us.

Private self-contained studio flat in stone cottage. The space has a double bed, 2 comfortable chairs, dining table and chairs, fireplace with electric stove, central heating. There is a small kitchen area with sink, kettle, toaster, combination microwave/oven/grill and fridge. There is a shower room with wash basin, loo and electric shower.
This is a 'granny flat' located on the ground floor of a family house. It is completely separate from the rest of the house, although it is on the same central heating system. It's got everything you would want for a short or even long stay, with a kitchen and dining space and comfortable seating area. The space is perfect for short or long stays. We offer a discount on stays of a week or more. Check in is after 12 noon, but we can be flexible, contact us if you want to arrive earlier, it may be possible. Check out is 11am, similarly talk to us if you want to stay longer than that.
This is a lovely quiet neighbourhood, it feels like a village on the outskirts of Halifax. We look out over the valley, and are on the edge of lovely woods. We're very close to the iconic Wainhouse Tower and are surrounded by lovely countryside and parks. There is a Tesco within a few minutes walk, and lots of good places to eat and drink nearby, including the wonderful Big 6 pub. If you want ideas about places to eat please ask us. The Tower House Hotel is a very short walk away - handy if you are attending a wedding or event there but don't want to stay at the hotel.
  • Staying at Anne and John's place was so relaxing! I had an entire flat to myself which was brilliant because I needed to get a lot of work done. Anne and John are super kind. They left me to myself but were always available to answer any questions I had. They know loads about the area and are always up for a nice chat. Anne even agreed to let me use her washing machine because I was going to travel on after check-out, which is amazing, not everybody is OK with that. The view is amazing, you can see the entire valley and Sowerby Bridge at the foot of the hill. And the bed was the most comfortable one I've ever slept in. Definite recommendation from me, if you come to Halifax or Sowerby Bridge, stay with Anne, you'll be well looked after.

  • The Granny Flat was ideal for our short break to explore the Halifax area. Anne and John were great hosts, very friendly and helpful. The flat is in a peaceful location, spotlessly clean, and the bed is very comfortable. In short, a lovely base for a holiday in an area which has lots of interesting places to visit.

Set in the steep and stunning Luddenden Valley within 13 hectares of beautiful Calderdale countryside, Jerusalem Farm Barn is a barn conversion set close to Jerusalem Farm Campsite and is surrounded by a landscape of woodland valleys and high moorland plateaux. With a welcoming atmosphere and accessibility-friendly facilities, Jerusalem Farm Barn is a perfect place to enjoy the local nature reserve, which provides a safe haven for woodland birds, woodpeckers, herons and deer.
Jerusalem Farm Barn was created with people with accessibility needs in mind. The barn is fully accessible for wheelchair users and has facilities including a hoist which runs from the bedroom to fully accessible en suite bathroom and profiling bed . With its own extensive network of footpaths, Jerusalem Farm Barn also makes an ideal base from which to access the wider countryside, which is largely protected for its breeding bird population and can be easily accessed by foot or push bike through an extensive and well marked network of public rights of way. The camp site and the spacious grassy areas below the barn are also accessible by wheelchair. Situated between Halifax and Hebden Bridge, the site is perfect for exploring the surrounding South Pennines, an area rich in both natural and industrial archaeology. The mill towns of Sowerby Bridge and Mytholmroyd (the birthplace of former Poet Laureate Ted Hughes) are nearby, with Hebden Bridge particularly good for day trips, with cafés, galleries and a grand old picture house. Haworth, home of the Brontës, is just a few miles over the moors. "Eureka!", The National Children’s Museum in Halifax (for big and little kids) can be reached in around 20 minutes as can the Grade I listed Piece Hall. The green oasis of Shibden Estate with its park and hall, soon to be seen on TV in the BBC/HBO drama Gentleman Jack. Jerusalem Farm is owned and operated by Calderdale Metropolitan Borough Council
Jerusalem Farm is set in the picturesque Luddenden Valley. This community is dominated by small cottages and farms, and has a extensive network of footpaths which included the nationally recognised trails The Calderdale Way and Pennine Way. Two small villages can be located in the Luddenden Valley. Luddenden with Grade II listed Lord Nelson Pub, once regularly frequented by the famous Branwell Bronte, and Midgley which its community run local shop.
  • This is great if you want to get away from it all. Having no phone signal was a bonus as we all talked to each other and played games. We enjoyed nature being literally on our doorstep. Any questions we had were answered very promptly. We are looking forward to returning in the future.

  • Perfect property for my elderly Mum with mobility issues. Also large communal space for everyone to be together, especially liked that the kitchen area was open plan so if like me you end up doing the cooking you don't feel detached from the rest of the party.

  • Fantastic place to stay in a magnificent setting. This is my second year staying here and it was perfect in every way. The accessibility features such as hoist and electric bed made the perfect place to stay even better. Can't wait to stay again soon

  • Ideally placed for the centre of town. We were seeing a show at the theatre and it was less than 5 mins on foot to get there. Parking on street was available. There was a small charge for an hour or son on the Friday, but then its free after 6. We were up and out walking Saturday so didn't have to pay and Sunday was free. Apartment is small but has everything we needed for our stay. The place was clean, kitchen well equipped and the bed comfy. If you want somewhere to use as a base to explore or head out for walks it's ideal. Neil was very good at communicating with us and offered suggestions of places near the theatre we may like to try.

  • Lovely little flat on the 1st floor - very cosy, quiet and comfortable. Great bed & bedding. Neil was a very kind, responsive host and added a few extra things that were needed for my 10 day stay. Perfect location for all things central and transport links all over Yorkshire.

  • Neil’s place is perfect for visiting Halifax! It’s a short 5-8 minute walk from the train station, and a great jumping off point for exploring this quaint historic town. It is on a quiet street, but most sites of interest are in easy walking distance. Neil also gave great recommendations (for both food and sightseeing) and told a few stories that only someone who has lived in Halifax his whole life could share. It was really special! We didn’t have the best weather, but the apartment was warm and cozy to come back to after walking around in the rain all day.

My home is colourful and comfortable. Modern and retro decor cosy along side some distinguishing original features that date back to 1744. The house is situated at a stones throw away from Halifax town centre where you will find the newly renovated Piece Hall, shops a plenty and an array of restaurants and craft ale/gin bars as well as residing near many idyllic towns and walks. The train station is also in walking distance with quick access to Manchester, Leeds, Bradford and York.
As well as the bedroom, guests have use of the shared bathroom and access to the yard at the rear of the house. You’re free to help yourself to tea and coffee in the kitchen.
I hope guests can enjoy the feel of my home and the convenient but quiet location in which it resides. Shops, bars, restaurants, cafes, theatres, cinemas, a bowling alley and the atmospheric Borough Market are spread amongst Halifax’s historical architecture. A 15 minute walk or few minute drive out of town will bring you Saville Park and Manor Heath playing fields. A 5 minute drive in the opposite direction will lead you to the idyllic Shibden Park and Shibden Hall which will be heavily featured in a new period drama about Anne Lister called ‘Gentleman Jack’. Bus and train services are in walking distance. The neighbouring towns of Sowerby Bridge, Hebden Bridge and Todmorden are close by in one direction and Huddersfield, Slaithwaite and Marsden in another. As well as Leeds and Manchester being within an away via train also.
  • Dean's place is fantastic. It's stylish, spotless, comfy, great value and Dean is a top bloke. Can't fault it. A real hidden gem and one of the best out there

  • Dean’s house is wonderful - so beautifully decorated, very central, very comfortable. Every we needed! Dean was lovely and extremely welcoming. I would highly recommend staying at Dean’s to anyone visiting Halifax.

    Meg2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • Dean has a spacious, clean and well equipped house. It was really quiet with a comfy bed. His communication was great. Unfortunately the boiler stopped working while I was there but Dean arranged for me to get a hot shower elsewhere and was really accommodating about checkout timings which I appreciated! Thanks for a great stay.

  • Lovely host, beautiful home, excellent location. Spotlessly clean and tidy.

    Laura2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • I reviewed Dean's place a few weeks back after a single night stay, but wanted to write a second review after staying a full week for work in the area. Dean is very friendly and accommodating, he even left me so fresh bread that he had made one morning! Despite being in the centre of town, it is a very quiet and tranquil property. I made full use of the kitchen facilities during my stay, preparing food for long days at work, and found all the utensils etc required for this. A really great stay all round!

    Joe2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • Very professional, communicative and flexible. Room was even more tasteful than the pics would tell. Highly recommended!

  • Dean has a really special place, with stylish decor, clean and comfortable rooms and facilities, and all within a 5-10 minute walk of the city centre. Fred2019-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • We needed a one-night in Halifax, close to a party venue at Dean Clough Mills, at a reasonable price, and Garry's place did not disappoint. Some highlights: Garry was able to answer our questions about the location and gaining access promptly and precisely. Gaining access was quick and easy. We were able to find (roadside) parking right outside the apartment (which was also reasonably priced - £2 for 2 hours; free between 6PM & 8AM and all day Sunday). The apartment was warm, the bed comfy, and tea and coffee was provided. As expected, because it's a town-centre location, there was some noise at 'kicking out' time, but nothing a pair of ear plugs couldn't mask. Happy to recommend Garry's place.

Our little cottage is the perfect base for visits to the local tourist attractions, such as Hebden Bridge, Haworth (home of the Bronte's), York and the Yorkshire Sculpture Park, to name but a few. And if you're into walking and taking in the beautiful Yorkshire countryside, then look no further, you could start with the Calderdale Way or the stunning North Yorkshire National Park which is only an hours drive away.
The Cottage is located in a small village within walking distance or a short drive to local pubs and resturants. The cottage is homely, clean and always warm. Additional to the bedroom and bathroom is a small kitchen area that includes a kettle, toaster and fridge.
Parking is on a quite road just outside the farm gate.
  • From start to finish Janet was a lovely host. Communication was quick and she even contacted us to inform of Shibden hall being closed over our stay due to maintenance knowing that this was the main reason we were visiting and offering to change our booking. Amazing breakfast provided every morning and the accommodation was perfect set in a lovely little village with everything we needed. Definitely recommend to anyone thinking of staying.

  • All previous reviews are 100% spot on. Janet is a truly genuine lovely lady, her hospitality is wonderful, absolutely nothing is too much trouble, she even took us to Tesco on NY Eve as we don't drive! The cottage is beautiful, and spotless clean. Breakfast was very tasty, orange juice, milk, tea and coffee are all in little kitchenette annexe. There's a kettle, toaster and fridge, no cooker but Janet did offer to put anything in her own oven if required

  • Helen & Dave were absolutely wonderful hosts and made us feel welcome in their beautiful home. The facilities are great and the interior is truly unique and modern. Gorgeous Yorkshire views come rain or shine and the exterior of the property itself is breathtaking. The continental breakfasts were always delicious and there was plenty to choose from. We really enjoyed getting to know them both during our stay and we look forward to staying again in future.

  • An excellent location with lovely views from the 1st floor living room. I would certainly stay here again

    Michelle2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • It was absolutely wonderful to stay at Tom's place! Very clean, well equipped with the basics and an amazing view at the Shibden park valley! We asked for some help the last day of our stay and got quick response and assistance. Perfect pick to stay if you're visiting Shibden Hall - the entrance to the Park is literally on the other side of the road! One thing to note, no wifi is available which was quite an inconvenience, but also clearly stated in the description of the house, so it wasn't a surprise. All in all, amazing place, can recommend it wholeheartedly!

We'll even put out some yummy cookies for you :-) Also down on the ground floor, a handy WC. There are two more upstairs, one in the ensuite shower room that’s part of the main bedroom, the other in the main bathroom which features a tub that invites you to lay back and relax. Speaking of the bedrooms, of which there are four, three on the first floor and one in the loft conversion, they feature a mix of double and single beds, so great for groups of work colleagues, contractors and families looking for quality serviced accommodation in the Halifax area. And with two bath/shower rooms, and three WC's, you don't have to worry about waiting if you're in a hurry to get up and away in a morning. You’ll be pleased to know that free, super fast fibre broadband serves the whole house, so you can keep in touch with the office or clients easily enough. It’s worth mentioning here that at the side of the property there are two free parking spaces, so you can always find somewhere to leave your vehicles and you won’t have far to carry your luggage into the house!

  • Great views high up above Hebden Bridge and close to Halifax. We came in the worst of all weathers and we were glad of such a cosy retreat. Spotlessly clean and a well equipped kitchen for those lazy evenings and a meal in front of the log fire. Well stocked with wood and kindling. Would love to return in better weather and do some walks around Calderdale. Thumbs up from our kids too, great bunk beds and a trove of games to play underneath the bed. Susan and Iain the perfect hosts, many thanks for a great stay.

  • One of our favourite places to visit for the regular trips to Calderdale. Wonderful views this weekend as we were just on the edge of the clouds with the sun trying to burst through.

  • Back again and never fails to please. Love the area and the property, perfect host and a warm fire is ideal at this time of year. Will be back again!

    Toby2020-01-19T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely clean & comfortable cottage in a lovely valley. Susan and Iain were friendly, helpful hosts who made us feel very welcome. Yes, the drive is very steep and I would hate to try and get up it in anything other than a 4WD when it was icy but we managed it (slowly) in the wet in a fully laden Mazda 6 so its not too bad. Would definitely return if we were in the area again.

    Sarah2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • Yet another fantastic stay at this beautiful location, great views over the frosty valley from the comfort of a homely cottage with a warming fire. We love it and I'm sure we will be back soon.

  • The farmhouse is a great space with fab views. The place is very clean and welcoming. Loved the fire in the pink lounge. The shower in the main bedroom didn’t have great pressure. Margaret was a great host, very helpful.

  • We knew we were in safe hands when Margret hussered is into what proved to be a warm and welcoming haven through the duration of Storm Dennis. This is a wonderful place to call home from home for a weekend. Thoughtful, guest focused and unobtrusive, our host could not have done more to make us feel relaxed. The house felt like a wonderful home from the moment we arrived, everything was easy and to hand. My partner, my brother and his family and dog needed a place for the weekend whilst visiting for a family get together. This could not have been better for our needs:- a a large farm house, plenty of space to be together and space to be apart. In fact a couple of the rooms were large enough to do both at once. If we come together as a group again we would love to stay here for a second time.

  • Stayed here with my family. We had a great time, with Margaret being a fantastically friendly and super-responsive host. Really delighted with the goodies left on our arrival as we had travelled by train and had nothing with us other than clothes, toothbrushes and toothpaste! A stunning place that could easily accommodate many more people than just our family! Nice view from the conservatory. Would love to stay again if the place is free for future visits to the area. Margaret asked if there was anything missing (such as utensils etc) that we missed during our stay on our departure, so she is clearly looking to make visits for future guests even better than we experienced. Thank you Margaret!

  • We couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay! The house was beautiful and much bigger than we were expecting. Stunning location and Margaret was such an incredible host going above and beyond to make our stay really enjoyable. We wish we could have stayed longer!

  • Fab property, really well equipped and very clean. Four adults fitted comfortably: the dining table can sit four and with two sofas we were comfy. Not sure how it would work for 6 adults; definitely would be cosy! Great location for visiting Halifax, Bradford and the Dales.

  • Such a cute village, and the views around the area are stunning. The apartment had more than enough space for the 3 adults in my group. It's worth noting that all bedrooms are up one or two flights of stairs if anyone in your group has problems with that, but having the extra powder room on the ground floor is a nice feature. Lovely views from the kitchen and one of the bedrooms, too! Parking and check-in were easy and convenient, and I enjoyed walking around the town. And there's a pub right around the corner! Halifax is only a few miles away, so this is a very convenient location for exploring the area. We enjoyed our stay.
