  • A fantastic experience in a beautiful setting. Well kept and presented, feels like you are in the middle of no where, where as actually lots near by. The perfect place for a proposal and prosecco💍🍾 Couldn't recommend it enough! Would also suggest having dinner at The Plough, just a short drive away.

  • We had such a great stay at the hut. The hot tub is incredible, we loved being able to have a warm dip even though it was pretty cold and wet! The surrounding area is also beautiful, lots of lovely walks to go on.

    Ned2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • Great, cosy little hut and the hot tub is definitely worth taking the time to heat... even in a chilly February!

Over 290 visits all with great reviews. Guests also say that our photos don't do us justice, trust them, this is a perfect destination for complete relaxation and privacy. Close the gates and stay put! Two supercool spaces The Bespoke Cabin with woodburner and the Summerhouse are set in a private meadow. The Summerhouse at the top of the paddock has views, fab for sunbathing or cloud and star gazing it has a deck and firebowl. Lovely setting nestled below Helman Tor. Children over 6 welcome.
Built for purpose the cabin is a one off alternative and self contained beautiful space. It is not a mobile home/kit or attached to my property. It is a converted field shelter Bespoke design not a kit!! It is a separate entity along the lane from my property and set within its large and beautiful 1.5 acre meadow with views. Dimensions are 6m x 4m. Small but pefectly formed. The ground floor has a kitchen and living space combined with a woodburner. The living space is double height which gives a feeling of space. Also on the ground floor a bedroom with double bed and ensuite shower room. A heavy curtain can be pulled to separate the downstairs living and sleeping areas. The Cabin is light and airy and all windows are double glazed and the cabin is twin skinned with full insulation. There is an electric radiator in the bedroom area, which can be moved around. The second double bed is above this room on a mezzanine level accessed by a ladder, there is limited head height here on the mezzanine but this makes it a snug and cosy space, with blinds which drop down for privacy. Not suitable for younger children. Not suitable for ages 2 to 6 older children could be considered. There is a freeview television with radio. No wifi. Good 4g coverage...especially in the Summerhouse. Probably more suited for a couple but four adults or two extra older children would be fine. Romantic or retreat! Private and a lovely setting. Officially used for engagement surprises and Honeymoons. I can arrange balloons or cake or anything to make your celebration special, just ask. Access to the mezzanine nook is by ladder! Outside space is private and extensive and although next to the lane this is a very quiet valley. You have a private paddock with a summer house with deck at the top of it for lazydays watching the sky or sunbathing on the deck. Ideal star gazing very little if any light pollution. A fabulous firebowl is also situated by the Summerhouse. There is a smaller fire pit down by The Cabin and bbq. Ideal cycling/walking country. On the Saint's Way situated below Helman Tor. Beside Breney Common Nature reserve. Also on cycle route 3. Very little light pollution. Situated in the geographic middle of Cornwall so easy to access coast and most famous areas. Please message me for any more information. One night stays subject to availability please message for details.
We are on the Saints' Way here and walking distance from Helman Tor a special and beautiful place. Also Breney Common Nature Reserve is adjacent to the cabin and a haven for wildlife. The nearest pub is 2.5 miles away the Crown Inn in Lanlivery, the Kings Arms pub in Luxulyan is also close with great food and atmosphere. Fowey and Lostwithiel are approx. 7 and 9 miles away. No public transport nearby the nearest train stations are Bodmin Parkway and Par both 7 miles away and this would be a great base for a cycling holiday being on the Cycle Route 3 . By appt I could collect from a train. Happy to help with ideas for trips if you can tear yourself away from here and the cabin has maps and tourist info for you to browse. Games and binoculars if you just want to hunker down!
  • The best air bnb I have ever had the pleasure to visit. Carol and her cabin are both amazing. From the outset you get a good feeling from Carol’s warmness and kind heartedness and on arrival you can see that she has put her soul into this beautiful cabin. The setting is idyllic and the cabin itself is truly unique. Every little detail has been thought of and the little touches make the cabin feel a home away from home. It’s cosy, romantic and homely - a real rare find! I can not recommend this place enough. The decor and architecture are incredible and Carol’s easy to follow instructions mean using the wood burner and outdoor fire pits are a doddle. There isn’t WiFi (not an issue as you are there to relax and enjoy your surroundings and I found it nice to be disconnected) but if you want to watch a movie in the snug upstairs room on a chilly evening perhaps download something before arriving. There are many beautiful coastal walks in easy reach by car; the coastal path to Polperro is beautiful and a trip to the beach at East Looe is a lovely way to spend the afternoon with a Cornish ice cream. The Bodmin Moore’s are on the doorstep as is the Eden project. Thank you Carol for sharing such a wonderful space with us! 10/10 - a must visit for everyone 😊 I would also recommend a lunch visit to the Duchy of Cornwall Nursery just beyond Lostwithiel (approx 15 min drive) - good food, friendly staff and a very sweet resident cat living in the garden centre shop!

  • The Cabin is a unique and wonderful place to stay. Carol has made this place romantic and quirky and is a wonderful host. The summerhouse at the top of the field is a lovely extra that you don’t get at most places. If you want to escape from the rat race and have some romantic time alone with that someone you love this is most definitely the place to stay x

    Ben2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Carol has been an amazing host, she was extremely understanding and welcoming when we arrived an hour ahead of schedule. The Cabin is a very cosy and homely place to get away for a few days and is perfectly placed for the Eden Project and some great local seaside towns. We look forward to staying again!

    Elliot2020-02-27T00:00:00Z
  • Loved it 😊

    Richard2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • The Cabin was truly beautiful - it was everything we’d hoped for and more. Carol has thought of everything; the personal touches (games, umbrellas, lanterns, etc) made the place even more special. The decor is also brilliant - very homely and comfortable to the point we spent more time in enjoying the fire and games than we did out in the end! Carol is also a fantastic host with brilliant communication and attention to detail. We were overall delighted with our stay and cannot wait to return.

    Kassie2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The Cabin is a perfect place to get away and unplug! We really enjoyed switching off (we had no phone reception and there is no wifi) and relaxing in beautiful surroundings. The Cabin has everything you could need when you are away, Carol has thought of everything. The kitchen is well stocked and we cooked in every night. There are lots of games and books and a TV. We didn't make use of the Summer House but can imagine it would be lovely when it's a bit warmer! You definitely need a car if you are staying here and there are no pubs or shops within walking distance. We visited the Eden Project - it's less than a 15 minute drive. Loved our stay here, we will come back!

    Sarah2020-02-06T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect, absolutely spot on. Stylish and cosy little hideaway. Carol was great at checking us in and keeping in touch. Beautiful little cabin.

    Corina2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • The cabin is so cosy - stylishly decorated and full of everything we needed, Carol had thought of it all. From keepcups to torches, to reusable shopping bags to board games. The log burner was perfect, bed was comfy and shower piping hot. Check in process was really easy. Would definitely visit again! The area is incredibly quiet, no noise or light pollution so you get a really good view of the stars. Not much around so bring supplies. We walked up Hellman Tor which was very cool. All in all a fab weekend

  • Beautiful old cottage with private entrance, a little way out of town, but only 20 minutes to walk there, either by the beach, or main road. There was a local bus that did pick ups and drop offs. Lots of fabulous walks all around. Would love to return!

  • We were welcomed with smiles and hot coffee and brownies on arrival by our hosts who couldn't of been more welcoming and friendly. The accommodation was perfect, warm and spotless. More than enough room for our party. The whole site was a real pleasure from the games barn and the wood fired hot tub to feeding the pigs and collecting eggs from the friendly hens. We couldn't have been more happy with our stay, the location was perfect and everything we wanted was close by. The only problem was our stay wasn't for long enough. We will definitely be back. Thanks again. Xx

  • Lovely stay at Christmas, Sara and Rob were lovely. The kids loved feeding the animals each morning and having lovely fresh eggs and apple juice was lovely. Also put up a Christmas tree and decorations for the kids. Highly recommended.

    Alex2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • The long barn is fab! We loved all the cute little touches like leaving eggs for our breakfast, having a herb garden and apple trees local to the barn. The bed was super comfy, the kitchen was great and the en suite shower was amazing! We’ll definitely be back - most likely with a group of friends and their kids!

Also the food was really really good and and the vegetarian was really good for summer as well. They delivered it to us even though it was pouring rain and the food was still hot

    Morven2020-03-14T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderful place to stay surrounded my nature. It was like staying in a Romany gypsy caravan in the trees! The hosts were incredibly welcoming and friendly and the gin and rum workshop was excellent. Definitely recommend.

  • Cracking location, unique and stunning accommodation, with the most friendly, attentive hosts, nothing was too much trouble, we loved our night there and didn't want to leave xx

    Lou2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing tree house with everything we needed. Perfect surprise sponge cake when we arrived and the gin workshop was fantastic Our evening tapas was exceptional and the tree house so warm and cosy for such a wet February

    Sam2020-02-21T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I stayed in the treehouse for my partners 30th and the whole experience was wonderful. The treehouse itself is comfortable and cosy with the log fire on, even over a dry but cold January weekend. The gin masterclass was interesting and fun - foraging for botanicals, homemade bread, creating our own recipes, taking our own gin home to share with friends- all brilliant! Also a big thank you for the breakfast and homemade Victoria Sponge, it was such a lovely treat and really made my partner's birthday special. Highly recommended and will love to return ourselves in the summer to try out some different gin flavours!

    Hannah2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • The house is exactly as lovely as it's portrayed. A sturdy cabin made of wood, with a rustic interior, almost medieval feel, in a secluded area with gorgeous countryside vistas where the air is pure, the silence is bliss and the night sky is full of stars. The big surprise is Ben and Shona's hospitality, which is just next level. They offered to pick me up from the station since I didn't have a car. They were generous and accommodating with my dietary requirements. There was a home made cake waiting for me in the house. Ben cooks breakfast and brings it round wrapped in aluminium foil, which really keeps the food warm. The tapas were outstanding, I was floored by the quality and generous portions. They took the initiative to bring round more logs for the wood burner since it was particularly cold and I might need them. I was expecting to feel at peace in the countryside, I wasn't expecting to feel spoiled! They really go the extra mile to provide a great experience for guests.

    Jorge2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Amazing experience! A New Year we won't forget in a long time- from the hospitality, to individuality of the experience, both Shonna and Ben were fantastic hosts- couldn't have asked for more- thank you

This delightful, airy cabin, is the perfect place to relax. Located in the hamlet of Milltown, near Lostwithiel, you are a short walk away from beautiful woodland and the picturesque Fowey River and ten minutes, by car, from the beach.
Nestled into a wooded hillside, our cabin is set far enough away from the house to give you peace and privacy. It is light and airy in summer and cosy in the winter, with storage heating and an electric blanket. There is also a heated towel rail and plenty of hot water in the en-suite shower room. The main room has a double bed, a large cupboard, an arm chair, bed side tables and enough floor space to put up a travel cot or a child's blow up bed. Although there is not a kitchen, there is a cupboard with basic crockery, cutlery, glasses etc, a fridge, a microwave, tea and coffee making faciliites and a toaster. Bread, croissants, a selection of cereals, milk, juice, honey, jam and marmite will left in the cabin for you to make your own breakfasts if you are staying for one or two nights. If you are staying for longer then it will be up to you stock up on supplies!
Milltown is a pretty hamlet close to the ancient Milltown Woods and the Fowey River and The Saint's Way goes directly past the gate! Lostwithiel is a twenty minute walk across fields or a five minute drive and it has a good selection of shops including a deli, a butchers, a bakers, a chemist, a Co-op and several good antique and gift shops. The picturesque town of Fowey is just over four miles away with it's numerous pubs, cafes, restaurants and shops and stunning views of the estuary and out to sea. There are many local beaches, to suit all tastes, and the Eden project all within a 20 minute drive.
  • Lovely little cabin with pleasant walks nearby. Very helpful hosts with quick responses. Clear instructions on how to get there were given. Would definitely stay again!

    Martha-Jo2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cabin, the perfect getaway where you totally escape reality. Walk welcome, it was nice to have milk, cereal and toast on arrival. The woods which the cabin is set in is truest magical. We will definitely be back again

    Tracey2020-03-12T00:00:00Z
  • I visited Clare's cabin with the idea of fostering a love of the woods in my children. I have not been disappointed, they both came away absolutely in love with the woods, the streams and rivers and all that the area had to offer. The cabin is neat, spacious, well presented with everything one could need. We will be back!

    Lindsay2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely secluded spot, we had a lovely stay in cabin and had everything that we required. We were there when weather was not so great but still had a good time. Picturesque surroundings, nice and peaceful.

    Andy2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • A cosy little cabin set in the most beautiful wooded area. We woke to birdsong in the morning and watched the stars at night. A perfect weekend getaway, we will definitely be returning. Thank you very much.

    Sarah2020-01-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great quiet chalet for two. Great location for exploring Cornwall. Lovely and cosy. I’ll be back👍

    Graham2020-01-09T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely little cabin, great location, peaceful and secluded. Good location for the eden project, beach, estuary... Lots of books and games for relaxing evenings. The heater could do with updating as it doesn't quite manage with cold winter nights, but this is the only minor criticism of a really nice, great value cabin, we'll definitely book again.

    Jamie2020-01-05T00:00:00Z
  • A truly beautiful retreat tucked away in the cornish countryside. All the home comforts you'd possibly need for a short stay. Very clean, warm and comfortable furnishings. Look forward to returning one day 😊

  • We cannot recommended this as a getaway destination highly enough. It’s a beautiful little space in the back end of nowhere. Wonderful! Sadly our trip was cut short but we absolutely loved our brief time there. The instructions, communication, decor, location, price and tips were all spot on. Definitely stay here! We’ll be back again soon!

    Tom2020-02-20T00:00:00Z
  • Great little space with all you need. Folder full of recommendations. Parking right outside. Would love to return in the summer. Lovely local pub Crown Inn.

    Serena2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • The Sheep Shed is truly a lovely little space to stay in. It is very well equipped for the cosy and compact size, quite remote but lovely and peaceful. The instructions from the host on how to get there were accurate and helped considering I arrived when it was getting dark. The shower and toilet are compact but clean and the water was lovely and warm in the shower. Everything is well thought out, and even though I was there whilst storm Ciara was travelling in, it was very warm and cosy. The little welcome basket with cereal and fruit is a lovely little touch :) I definitely hope to return in the future for another getaway, hopefully with my other half this time! Thank you again x

    Emma2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • This was the perfect country get away! Our host went the full mile to ensure that we were comfortable and had everything we needed. She was knowledgeable and welcoming and easy to contact. The Sheep Shed is cosy and equipped with all that you need. The location is central to both coasts. We would definitely come back and recommend to anyone looking for a quiet country break!

  • A great place to stay! Exactly what you expect from the pictures and description. You're not too far from Bodmin to be able to go to a bigger shop or to a town if you want but you are very much in the countryside. Went for a 2 day trip to Cornwall and this was the perfect place to stay near lots of good places. Lanhydrock is a lovely national trust place to visit and had an amazing lunch down in Charlestown.

  • Great location to discover local attractions. Accommodation cosy and compact but very well laid out and contained everything we needed. Pub walkable and served lovely food.

.Golant is a small, friendly, idyllic riverside village, a hidden gem, with a population of 150 .You are short stroll from the welcoming pub, The Fishermans Arms, which has fine ales and great food, and the prestigious restaurant, The Cormorant is also a short walk. If you wish to get on the river, Encounter Cornwall provide kayak hire and guided kayak tours and there's a free launching area for boats if bringing your own. From the apartment there is easy access to beautiful riverside walks, and a trail that can take you all the way to the picturesque harbour town of Fowey. A couple of local artists are in the village, including David Parry who is known internationally for his paintings of wild life and is a popular artist of river scenes, and Robin Leonard has a gallery on the river front. Barbara Mc Millan also has a gallery, she paints nautical and river scenes. There's a lively seasonal cafe called the The Boat Shed, where you can get delicious home made cakes, specialist coffee and a variety of teas. The village and surrounding areas have strong literary connections, Daphne Du Maurier lived nearby, Neville Shute used to reside at Norway Cottage, E V Thompson also used to live in the village and Arthur Quiller Couch and Kenneth Graham wrote of the Fowey river. Golant is a convenient location for visiting the Eden Project, the historic port of Charlestown, the historic town of Lostwithiel with its Restormel Castle and interesting shops and cafes, Fowey with its restaurants, boat trips and quirky shops. All within a 20 minute drive. For beaches, there is Readymoney cove in Fowey, the long sandy Par Beach, the wilder Polridmouth cove, and sheltered cove of Polkerris with a pub and restaurant perfect for a sundowner. These too are less than 20 minutes drive away. Further afield are the Lost Gardens of Heligan, Bodmin Moor, and the North Coast with its Atlantic surf waves. For longer day trips, St Michaels Mount, Penzance, Falmouth and St. Ives are enjoyable days out. Plenty of opportunity for eating out in the area, from pub grub to cafes to mid and high end restaurants. For specific information please ask as we are very knowledgeable on the area and Cornwall in general.
  • Lovely place, very isolated (which was great) and a lovely and peaceful bit of scenery. A true retreat!

  • We came here for a chilled few days over New Years to get away from it all, and we would highly recommend Vilma and Robert’s riverside retreat. The apartment was spotless, with fresh fruit and flowers and other breakfast items ready for when we arrived, along with a delicious cream tea! The views from the balcony are incredible, and the location in Golant was so peaceful, but also within easy driving distance of key sites (we really enjoyed visiting Fowey and the Eden Project). The perfect chilled break!

    Lucy2020-01-01T00:00:00Z
  • This is a fabulous place to stay in a glorious setting. The estuary view is ever changing with tides, weather and wildlife - which is endlessly fascinating, and the garden is simply stunning. The apartment is cosy, private and well equipped, the bed is comfortable and the whole place has been thoughtfully presented with homely touches, local paintings on the walls, great supply of books and DVDs. The short walk down the garden and along the river to the local village is great, if a little muddy - and we found the Fisherman's Arms very friendly and the food was very good. We really enjoyed our stay here.

  • We had a wonderful stay at Golant. The accommodation was great, being able to listen to the owls in the evenings was a real treat. The view was terrific. Everything you needed was supplied. Vilma had provided a beautiful cream, fresh fruit, milk, bread and lovely fresh flowers from her beautiful garden. We were able to wander through expansive garden to the local pub where we enjoyed a veggie meal in the fisherman’s arms - it was lovely. Highly recommend and when we next visit this part of Cornwall we would definitely stay at the River Retreat.

    Fran2019-10-18T00:00:00Z
  • This place is a little gem. A comfortable treetop apartment with panoramic views out over the water and beautiful tropical gardens. Very homely and peaceful. It has the wow factor for sure. Steep approach by car is a challenge, but all part of the adventure of being on holiday. Can’t wait to return sometime. Thank you to the lovely hosts.

  • What an amazing place to stay! Me and my other half came here to Golant for some quiet time away before she went back to her studies at uni and we were blown away! Nothing beats the view from this property! Very lovely touch with Cornish cream tea waiting for us when we arrived and a few essentials in the fridge. The village of Golant itself is such a calming tranquil place - the silence there is unreal! We went for dinner at the pub just down the road (fisherman's arms I think) and it was delicious! Very well priced also! We will definitely be returning to this lovely village one day in the near future. 5 stars all day

    Jack2019-09-28T00:00:00Z
  • I did not stay here, as the stay was a gift to our son and daughter in law who were over from Australia. However, from their comments is seemed they absolutely loved it! The property is as described but with the addition of some lovely thoughtful touches such as a deicious cream tea and provisions! It really is the perfect 'get-a-way retreat'. Whilst it is in a tranquil setting overlooking the river it is also provides easy access to major routes and tourist attractions. I would like to thank the hosts Trees, Vilma & Robert for being so kind and thoughtful and making them feel so welcome duirng their stay in Cornwall.

Tanhay studio-cottage is a unique property nestling in beautiful gardens overlooking the Fowey Estuary. The property is situated down a quiet private lane on the edge of Golant village, 6 miles from Fowey where there are pubs, shops and restaurants.
Tanhay studio-cottage was originally a Musician's studio. It has some interesting features such as a porthole in the downstairs bathroom, and the mast of a yacht for the inside of the spiral staircase. The studio has often been used by creative people: musicians, writers, painters and those wanting inspiration, beauty and peace. The studio lies in 4 acres of gardens and grounds of Tanhay House. There are two floors. As you walk in the front door, you enter a kitchen and dining space with glass doors opening on to a veranda overlooking the garden and river. Next to the kitchen is the bathroom and bedroom, which is small and cosy but has a very comfortable double bed. A spiral staircase leads up to a comfortable sitting area, furnished with two large sofas, a television and full length windows overlooking the Fowey estuary. The kitchen is simple and comfortable. There is a table and chairs, a fridge, washing machine, an 'Ever Hot' cooker, microwave and separate oven. The studio lies in 4 acres of gardens and grounds of Tanhay House. In terms of heating there is a radiator in the bedroom which is on all the time in the winter, the kitchen also has a heater and gets warmth from the 'Ever-Hot' cooker aswell. The bathroom has a heated towel rail and upstairs in the sitting room there are heaters which again are left on in the winter.
The Studio is on the edge of the village of Golant where there is a friendly pub called the Fishermans Arms and The Cormerant Hotel - both serving tasty food. The 13th Century Church of St Sampsons at the top of the hill and is well worth a visit. The Saint's Way walk skirts past the church and is well known by walkers interested in the history of Cornwall. Down in the village there is a company (Encounter Cornwall) which offers kayak/canoe expeditions on the river. The picturesque town of Fowey is only a short drive away, where you will find a wider variety of shops, cafes and restaurants. You can even hire a small boat and take to the river if you like that sort of thing! If you enjoy the outdoors there are plenty of beaches on both the South and North Coasts, stunning coastal walks and numerous Cornish gardens and homes to explore. The nearest ones to Tanhay Studio are Lanhydrock & Tregrehane. The Eden Project and Heligan Gardens are also within easy reach.
  • We finally made it back after our first brief visit 3 years ago when we promised ourselves a winter week to just bed down in the studio and watch the river. It was as lovely as we remembered. Mary is a wonderful host, kind and responsive , and the studio is set up as if the owners themselves were staying there. Well stocked kitchen, warm and cosy . A beautiful living room on the upper level with more gorgeous views and 2 generous sofas to lounge on. A very sheltered spot even in the midst of storms elsewhere. The garden simply holds you in its embrace. Within easy reach of Fowey, coastal walks, or Lost gardens of Heligan and the studio is a wonderful place to return to and simply relax. Such a comfortable and welcoming place

  • What a fantastic place to stay, a truly lovely property with a stunning view and everything you need to make you feel at home. A great place to relax and watch the world go by, and to be a base to see the rest of Cornwall. Can very much recommend, and hope to return.

    Joanne2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • Tanhay Studio is a tranquil retreat and you will never want to leave. The studio has everything you could wish for; even freshly baked scones, clotted cream and jam! Mary and her family are so hospitable and made our stay in Golant just perfect. We will certainly miss waking up to views over the estuary every morning - no need to close the curtains when the local herons and buzzard are your only neighbours! Thank you for a well needed weekend of rest.

    John2019-08-26T00:00:00Z
  • The studio is the perfect place for a break away from it all. It is peaceful and the view is stunning. The weather and clouds are ever changing! We had a wonderful week.

  • Absolutely amazing! The views from the property are stunning and have to be seen to be believed. A tranquil spot and a beautiful property. You won’t be disappointed.

  • This is in a place of tranquil beauty the view from the upstairs lounge is gorgeous and changes all the time, as does the view from the balcony downstairs. Very comfortable quirky place with everything you need. The Sweet peas were a delight and so were the scones with jam and clotted cream.

A quirky space created from the original pig-house, with underfloor heating, wet-room, cotton linen, tv/dvd, wifi, hair drier, microwave, kettle and a bar fridge, and a welcome pack of local produce with a selection of cereals, teas and coffee for breakfast (not restocked). No 'kitchen'. A cosy retreat for two (or three). Heated swimming pool, sauna and games room. Footpath to Fowey (welly boots required) or a 5 minute drive.
The pig house is a self contained unit at the end of a shared, patio garden with it's own front door, allowing you to be as private or as sociable as you like. Please be aware that the property has a microwave and access to a barbecue, but no other cooking facilities. It's best suited to couples and small families wanting to explore the local restaurants and cafes that the area has to offer.
Our working organic farm is located within the Fowey river valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It's a fantastic area to explore by foot, kayak, sail or hire boat. Also a central position from which to explore the delights of Cornwall. You can contact Fowey TI to find out more about local attractions.
  • A really great use of space and full of character. The Pig House has everything you could need for a few days away and is really stylishly put together. The farm has loads of extra features like a pool and gym which are just a great touch. Thoroughly recommended.

The swim spa is a lovely bonus and great fun. Delicious collection of food goodies on arrival. Much appreciated, would totally recommend

  • The Pig House is a lovely little space. Welcoming hosts and good quality, generous supplies of bread, jam, milk etc. Convenient location for Eden Project etc.

    Fiona2019-07-11T00:00:00Z
  • What a great little place! We booked the Pig house for a two night stay incorporating Fowey and the Eden Project and this is an ideal location. We walked through the back roads to Fowey which took about 45 mins, and it took barely 15 mins to drive by the Eden Project. The place itself has everything you need for a long weekend stay, and on the farm there's plenty of other things to entertain you such as the Guinea pigs, rabbits, chickens, dogs (and 4 week old puppies!), the pool, sauna and table tennis! I would recommend this place to couples looking for a romantic weekend. For families check out the other houses on the farm.

    Stewart2019-07-08T00:00:00Z
  • Comfortable and quirky, the Pig House has all the attributes for people requiring accommodation for somewhere to relax. Just the right amount of facilities for a light breakfast, making tea or to microwave a meal. Pubs on hand for food, great location, peaceful. Great place! We loved it

Anne-Marie and Steve offer a warm welcome to Polbrean Studio, a cosy, well equipped, self catering studio which boasts stunning views of the River Fowey in the tranquil village of Golant. Our Studio comprises of a large open plan room with a pull down king size bed, kitchen area and shower room. There is a mezzanine with an additional double bed accessed by a set of paddle stairs. Outside is a seating area where you can sit and enjoy the stunning surroundings and views.
Golant is in an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and is the perfect base to explore all Cornwall has to offer. Our Studio is located on the Saints Way, so is ideal for those who wish to trek the many beautiful walks on our doorstep. Encounter Cornwall, based in Golant, provide Kayak Trips which cater for all abilities and take in the scenery and wildlife which inspired the novel, Wind in the Willows. The local pub, the Fishermans Arms, is a short stroll from the Studio and they provide local Real ales and excellent quality pub food, all served with a friendly smile. Golant is 10 minutes drive from Fowey, which hosts a packed calendar of events all year round, the most notable being the Fowey Festival of Music and Words (formally du Maurier Festival) in May, Regatta week and Carnival in August, and the Xmas Market early December. The picturesque fishing towns of Charlestown, Mevagissey, Looe and Polperro are on our doorstep with the cathedral city of Truro only an hour's drive away. Attractions, such as, the Eden Project, the Lost Gardens of Heligan and Llanhydrock House are also close by.
Golant sits on the banks of the River Fowey and is a very friendly village. We have a great pub, which is open all day from May to October, and then lunch and evening off season, Cafe Kayak is open through peak season and offers delicious homemade cakes and refreshments and our 13th century church, St Sampsons, is amazing and well worth a visit. Unfortunately, Golant no longer has a local shop, supplies may be found in Par, Fowey or St Austell, full details will be provided in our visitors book.
  • Lovely location, clean and well equipped accommodation despite size. Travelled as a couple, more than enough space for two. Host was welcoming and attentive. Parking on site with lovely views and good food in local pub. Would definitely recommend.

  • Nice studio room with a great view. Not far from Fowey, which was good for eating places.

    Gillian2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely place to stay, beautiful location and the place itself was so clean and tidy with everything you needed for a long weekend away. Only thing to be aware of is it's a very narrow lane to get to the place so if you have a big car you may need to park at the bottom of the hill and walk up! Will be back again soon I'm sure!

    ellen2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • My friend and I visited for a walking holiday and had the loveliest stay at Polbrean studio. Anne Marie and Steve were very friendly and welcomed us on arrival. The space was just perfect for a quiet few days away, and it had absolutely everything we could have needed, including a couple of nice surprises when we arrived (milk, eggs etc). The views from the breakfast bar and little outdoor seating area were just stunning, too, and the locals were incredibly friendly in the village. We both slept like logs and really enjoyed being in such a peaceful spot. We'd love to come back, it was well worth the visit. Thank you for having us x

  • A beautiful cottage with incredible views. Our first morning there we woke to find kayak races right outside our front door which was a lovely way to pass the time. We didn’t have far to travel to Eden Project or Lost Gardens of Heligan - and in fact countless other hotspots - but coming home to this peaceful cosy spot was really special. We never got tired of having breakfast or dinner looking out at that view

    Daisy2019-10-23T00:00:00Z
  • We felt very much at home in Sarah‘s modern yet truly Cornish cottage right by the river Fowey. Golant is a hidden gem in Cornwall, not many tourists stray to this remote village. The cottage is well equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay and of course the view over the river is quite stunning. We were surprised by the high tide, as the heavy rainfall flooded the street in front of the house, so remember to bring your wellies! I recommend the cottage to anyone wishing to spend a quiet and tranquil holiday in the Fowey area and all of us would return to the cottage any time!

  • Golant is a beautiful spot near Fowey. The cottage has a patio in front of the house which is ideal to sit and enjoy the scenery whilst eating the cream tea which greets you on arrival! The cottage is very comfortable and has everything you need. It is in a great location, ideal for visiting Fowey, Mevagissey, Charlestown....... We managed several walks along the sw path using books we found in the cottage.

    Maureen2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Really beautiful location right by the river with wonderful views. The cottage is modern, well equipped and maintained and spotlessly clean with a homely feel. The cream tea on arrival was very much appreciated after a long car journey. Golant's a peaceful little village and everyone was very friendly. A great, traditional village pub a stone's throw away from the cottage with a warm welcome and excellent pub grub-perfect after a busy day out and about. Sarah was very quick and helpful in answering any queries we had. Car parking wasn't a problem - we found a space every night but obviously we weren't there in high season. Overall - highly recommend this lovely cottage.

    Valerie2019-09-22T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful getaway home. Very clean and lovely space to relax in. The beds were very soft. We were provided with plenty of fresh towels and the welcoming touches such as scones, tea bags and loo rolls were much appreciated after a long drive down! We made use of the electric heaters which warmed the main room downstairs sufficiently. Golant itself is peaceful and directly opposite the river Fowey which makes for beautiful views, we tried to find the local walking trail but failed! Although there is no back garden there is a park about 2 mins from the house to let your dogs use. As with anywhere you stay in Cornwall, you do have to drive to places, but it was only about 10 mins from Fowey, 15 mins from Par (great dog beach there) and 40 mins from Looe. All in all it was a great place and would recommend. Thank you Sarah.

    Christina2019-09-15T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful part of the river, easy access to all local points of interest

    Max2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely week staying in Golant - It is nicely situated for seeing a fair amount of Cornwall in a relatively short time. We went Bodyboarding (Perranporth), Snorkelling (Mevagissey) and within Golant we went kayaking, did some fishing (caught a Mackerel) and caught plenty of crabs. The pub is nice and the locals all very friendly. As mentioned in previous reviews, the parking is a bit limited, but the car park beyond the cottage always had space and the narrow roads into Golant can be quite exciting if you meet another vehicle! The accommodation was light airy and spacious.

    John2019-08-24T00:00:00Z
  • Awesome setting, great for families or for getting away for quiet relaxation. House is fantastic, modern, clean, spacious and provides a great base for day trips out. You are right on the rivers edge which provides beautiful views and plenty of opportunities for messing about in boats or crabbing.

He will give you a very warm welcome and feed you well too. The Fowey estuary is a beautifully unspoiled river with incredible wildlife. We regularly see kingfishers, herons, egrets and our resident seal, we have yet to see the elusive otters which have been captured by night vision cameras in the estuary. Ducks, a variety of gulls, geese and swans are often spotted.
  • The cottage is small but it is not the smallest one I rented in UK. It is carefully furnished, quite at night. Very clean. Very narrow downhill road to reach it. A parking is available at the end of the road, some 100-200m away. The village is very small, just one pub, no stores, no way to buy food in a shop. You can buy online from Tesco. I appreciated the wood stove, ready to be lighted. The bed is very comfortable. The shower is large and almost new. Internet is very fast.

  • Cris’ place is just perfect: great location, clean, all the mods and cons, comfortable bed and good shower. We are already thinking about going back in the near future. Cris, thank you so much for the hospitality!

  • The cottage is lovely, stylish, clean and comfortable. The location is beautiful, peaceful and the pub is 2 minutes away. The area is outstandingly beautiful with lovely walks, beaches and villages. The weather was gorgeous!!

  • Sky cottage is a traditional Cornish fisherman’s cottage, very pretty and comfortable. The cottage has everything you need to make your holiday perfect. The bed is really comfortable and a nice powerful shower. The village is lovely and peaceful with lots of walks, you can easily walk to Fowey and Lostwithiel which is nice not to have to drive everywhere. We came to go to a concert at the Eden project which unfortunately was cancelled but we went anyway as it is so near and we love Eden nothing else like it and always changing. The village pub is very friendly with good food. There is a place in the village where you can book boat trips or hire kayaks. Fabulous holiday wish it could have been longer so much more to do!

  • Sky Cottage is even lovelier than the pictures, and has so many thoughtful touches around the house. Golant itself is blissfully quiet while being easy to get to, and is nice and central for exploring the area. Cris sent a really detailed message before I arrived about how to find everything and where to park, which I so appreciated. The kitchen was perfectly equipped, and the whole cottage was super clean and very restful and cosy after a long day's adventure.

    Claire2019-06-06T00:00:00Z
  • A very tastefully appointed and most comfortable cottage in a beautiful location. Golant is a peaceful and friendly village on the river just up from Fowey and has a nice local pub. It is within easy reach of great walks and other attractions such as other atmospheric towns, dramatic coastal scenery, the Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan. Hosts Cris & Paul have done a great job in setting up the place, are very approachable and available for advice if required.

    Kevin2019-05-17T00:00:00Z
  • A small but perfectly formed retreat in a beautiful village.

    Helen2019-04-21T00:00:00Z
  • Very comfortable and beautiful cottage set in a fabulous location. Cris adds a few unexpected pleasant touches.

A unique recently renovated 370 year old cottage in the stunningly beautiful village of Golant overlooking the Fowey estuary, complete with pink piano & many owls – a place for happy people and fun times! Xmas/New Year please contact before booking. "The dreamiest Airbnb cottage in south east Cornwall" Sam July 2019 "Lovely quirky family home, with so much creative history. What a wonderful atmosphere..." - Rachel August 2019  "Paradise Cottage is such a gem!" - Michelle September 2019
Paradise Cottage is 370 years old – the oldest house in the village of Golant. It's made of cob – which is a technical term for rocks and earth – so the walls are curvy. It's where I grew up and where my bohemian parents lived – a place for music, conversations, art, poems. It has a kitchen you can cook properly in, a dining table that easily seats 6, a living room with a log fire and upstairs bedrooms into the eaves of the roof. Recently refurbished with all new lights, central heating, decorations and carpets – from Easter 2020 brand new period style kitchen and bathroom.
Golant is a friendly village of 350 people overlooking the River Fowey estuary which is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. You're near Fowey, Par, Lostwithiel – half an hour from St Austell (and the Eden project), just under an hour away from Truro.
  • A really cosy cottage in a wonderful location. Great to chillout and easy access to walks and places of interest.

    Tim2020-01-03T00:00:00Z
  • Patrick's place is full of character and has all amenities . Staying there adds to the experience of exploring Cornwall. It's worth staying a number of days.

  • Just spent 5 wonderful days at paradise cottage. It’s a lovely quirky cottage with lots of original features and interesting memorabilia.. The view from the garden is amazing and with good weather it’s a perfect spot for breakfast or an evening glass of wine. It’s not a new sparking place, but that is indeed part of the charm. The fishmans inn is also an added bonus with great food and landlord / family.

  • Paradise Cottage is such a gem! The cottage is so cosy and charming, we fell in love with it as soon as we stepped in the door and spent a lot of our time there as it was just so relaxing and cute. The house is brimming with creativity; many interesting books and things to look at including a lot of owls! The kitchen is very well equipped so making meals was nice and easy. It's a 350 year old cottage but they keep it very clean, quite impressive. The outdoor space is amazing too, wonderful place to have a coffee overlooking the harbour. The village is really lovely, very quiet and peaceful. The Fisherman's Arms is a wonderful pub - great staff, beer, wine and spirits and they even have a vegan menu! We found the locals to be very friendly and welcoming, and loved all the dogs. Great walks in the area too. Patrick was very friendly, responsive and had great tips. We can't fault anything about the cottage or Golant - we loved every minute.

    Michelle2019-09-12T00:00:00Z
  • We loved staying here, thank you so much! There was scones there when we arrived and the village is lovely and so welcoming. The house is wonderful, parking space is very handy and there are some stunning views from the top garden which are lovely to sit and watch with a coffee. Thanks again!

  • Great village, great local, great house ❤

  • Lovely quirky family home, with so much creative history. What a wonderful atmosphere Paradise Cottage has. The piano was played daily! We had such a relaxing stay, loved the friendly village and the tranquil view over the estuary from the garden - and we very much appreciated the cream tea on arrival. Highly recommend the catch of the day in the Fisherman’s Arms, and a sundowner kayaking trip from the Boat House.

    Rachel2019-08-01T00:00:00Z
  • Wonderfully quaint cottage in Golant. We were delighted with our 2 nights spent here and found the place fully equipped with everything we needed including a piano to entertain ourselves in the evenings. Patrick & company were prompt with their responses to our queries and the flexible check-in time suited to our schedule very well. Would definitely love to come back.

The room is laid out with the bed against the wall so as to allow more space for moving around. If this is not an issue you may find that it is suitable for two people. Other items in the room include; Touch lamp on bed side cabinet, television with Freeview, hairdryer, iron & ironing Board, oversized king-sized light weight duvet and four pillows. The bathroom is adjacent to the bedroom and is used only by this room, it has a toilet, basin and bath with shower over, also in the bath room you will find the following; Bath towel, hand towel, flannel, bath mat, shampoo, conditioner & toilet roll. It may be possible for you to use the washing machine but please confirm this first and bear in mind there is only an outside washing line for drying so you’ll need to time the weather right! It is a modern semi-detached three-bedroom house positioned at the end of the close and subsequently has a calm and relaxing feel to it, the house is clean, tidy and well-presented and I am very lucky to have lovely neighbours. I live here with my three cats, Josie, Tilly & Teddy who are naturally convinced that they are in charge and subsequently roam freely (please keep your doors closed if you don't want to have guests of your own). There is a well-equipped kitchen if you wish to prepare any meals – just be sure to load the dishwasher and try to be finished by ten so that I can get my beauty sleep! Opposite the house is a dedicated private and off-road drive for you to park a car. The back garden is split over two levels, please feel free to make use of the top level where you’ll find a selection of garden furniture available on the lawn. Please feel free to use the sitting room during the working week days, I do reserve this to myself for the evening and weekends though. House requests Other than respecting the non-smoking policy please just be mindful of the time and noise levels within the house after 10pm If you wish to stay up chatting after this then the conservatory off the kitchen is a great relaxed place for this.
The house is built on a recent housing development in Par, Par is a village and fishing port with a harbour on the south Cornish coast set between Charlestown and Fowey.
  • If it could get 6 stars I would have!! A bargain for the money, really nice friendly person!! Highly recommend

  • Matthew was a fabulous host and the accommodation itself is great — exactly as it is described. A great room for both short and long term stays being close to many attractions. Having the shops in Par and the beach within walking distance is handy. You’d be hard pressed to find a more helpful, friendly, and welcoming host than Matthew.

Harbour House is a beautifully presented, newly renovated property with captivating estuary views overlooking the River Fowey. This enchanting holiday home sits in an enviable waterside setting in Golant, a sleepy Cornish fishing village with narrow lanes and old Cornish cottages. Harbour House is perfectly placed to explore; hire a canoe or kayak from the estuary beach below and discover tranquil creeks and smugglers caves with plenty of wild life to spot on the way.
We have taken on board the feedback regarding the beds in the front bedroom and we have replaced them with a new zip linked super king bed. River Side Cottage with Two Terraces and Stunning Views of the Fowey River Perfect Retreat for Those Seeking Relaxation In Golant by the River There are two terraces with outside furniture at the front of the property, overlooking the water. You can watch the canoeists and the rowers come in and out of the Pill, a tidal lagoon which was created when the Fowey to Lostwithiel railway was built or just enjoy the comings and goings on the water. Inside, the accommodation has been sympathetically renovated so as to keep many of the original features whilst, at the same time, providing modern comforts designed for maximum relaxation. The open plan living room has a superb picture window framing the ‘Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty’ beyond and a wood burner for fireside cosiness – perfect for when you return from your winter walks. There will be a net of logs and firelighters provided for your first night in the house. We have a smart TV, Chromecast, and dvd player, great for the kids on a rainy afternoon or box set binges at night! The modern kitchen at one end makes a fantastic social space to cook and eat. Of course you may decide to stroll down to The Fishermans Arms for supper, 3 minutes away, also overlooking the water with a large garden. Both bedrooms are spacious and have stylish en-suite shower rooms. The front bedroom can either be a king sized bed or 2 single beds and there are adult size bunk beds in this room for further bed space if required. There is a conservatory at the rear of the house, a good size WC and outside is an enclosed courtyard with a high gate that can be bolted for added security
Fowey can be reached in just ten minutes by car and is one of Cornwall's most popular yachting destinations and home of the celebrated author Daphne du Maurier. Evocatively picturesque and rich in history, the towns narrow streets brim with appealing shops, historic pubs, restaurants and cafes. Enjoy a water based activity, pleasure boat trip or visit the world famous biomes at the Eden Project. Golf enthusiasts can tee off at one of the five golf clubs nearby - the courses at Carlyon Bay and Porthpean both have the most amazing sea views. With Par Sands, Polruan and Readymoney Cove all within easy reach. If you are a keen walker there is excellent estuary or wooded walks around the area and at Lerryn you can cross the river at low tide via the stepping stones and enjoy some lunch at the pub. Please mention this when you book and we will arrange it for you. This is a holiday home that guests will want to return to again and again.

    Andy2019-09-21T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our 7 night stay in this recently renovated property which is situated in a very quiet backwater with very friendly and welcoming locals. The view from the front window of the river Fowey is very special and we never tired of looking at what was happening on the river. The local pub is only a couple of minutes away and does a good choice of reasonably priced food.

  • Lovely stylish cottage in a pretty village, in a beautiful part of Cornwall, with Fowey and the estuary, the Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan all within easy reach.

  • This is a beautiful place to stay. The photos of the location do not do it justice. Spent almost the whole time i was in the house gazing out the window. It's also really friendly, all the neighbor's and the local pub were cheery and welcoming. The space its self is bright and airy with just about all you need for a few days away. Although it doesn't advertise parking, it's really easy to park outside.

    Rachael2019-05-29T00:00:00Z

  • This is a great place to stay, fantastic views from the lounge and main bedroom. Very comfortable beds, the house was spotless and very tastefully decorated. Pub was just a few steps away with nice food and friendly locals. We didn't get to try the kayaking which was available just a stones throw away from the house, we will have to return. An exceptional stay booked last minute. We would highly recommend. Thank you.

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Cobb’s wells. This property had everything we needed for our stay. We took our German shepherd dog with us and this property was big enough for her to run around and had a secure garden for her. This property slept 5 people and was nice and warm. Little touches made us feel very welcome and helped us during our stay. These included, milk & biscuits for our arrival. Dish washer tables and washing liquid were provided. The car parking space provided is also a huge plus in Fowey. Thanks for a great stay and we would highly recommend.

    Ryan2019-10-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great cottage in a convenient position in Fowey. So useful to having a parking place although I was pleased my car was no bigger! Once we got used to the church bells (after 24 hours) it was very calm and peaceful. Shops very close too and pubs.

An absolutely stunning apartment. Overlooking the whole of Fowey harbour, this beautifully presented apartment offers fabulous views from the living room and kitchen, and provides a flexible bedroom layout for either couples or friends staying in this brilliant waterside location. Just a couple of hundred yards from the Lugger Inn and the town quay at the centre of this quintessential Cornish fishing village.
Located right in the heart of the historic harbour village of Polruan on the eastern side of the Fowey estuary, this completely refurbished and modernised apartment offers amazing views of the whole of Fowey harbour. Polruan itself boasts two pubs, a cafe, a bakery, and a small village shop, and it is just a 4 minute ferry ride across the river to Fowey with its fantastic range of shops, restaurants and pubs. Cornwall of course has many and varied attractions and activities, but, be warned, you may find that with the fantastic beaches, breathtaking scenery, stunning coastal walks, all of the water based activities - harbour tours, sea fishing, kayaking, self-drive motor boats - and so on, that you don't feel much like leaving the Fowey estuary at all! Take particular care when you pause briefly to sit on the window seat in the sitting room of the Captain's Cabin, you could lose a couple of unplanned, but contented, hours just watching and enjoying all of the activity in the harbour. The passenger ferry runs until 11pm from May through to September which makes staying in Polruan and enjoying the delights of Fowey an easy possibility. Your car can be left either in the Polruan car park or in the Fowey Car Park, should you feel like visiting another part of Cornwall, although crossing the estuary is quite easy via the Bodinnick car ferry. The Captain'sCabin itself is on the ground floor of the building with access through a shared entrance. The apartment is all on one level with the living room to the front, enjoying the fantastic view of the harbour through the enormous bay windows. There is a cosy wood burning stove in the living room which makes the apartment super warm when running. The kitchen is in a galley style and also enjoys the views. The bedroom to the rear benefits from a 6' double bed that can be split into two 3' singles if that is your preference for sleeping arrangements. This makes the apartment ideal for just a couple of friends sharing as well as couples. Ground Floor only: Entrance hall, living room, fully fitted kitchen, shower room with WC and bedroom with either a 6' double bed or two 3' single beds.
Polruan is based on the south coast of Cornwall on the river Fowey. It is a small village with only one road in or out. There are two pubs in the village, The Lugger and The Russell Inn, both offer an excellent range of food at very reasonable prices. From the quay you will find a passenger ferry that will take you across to Fowey. The journey taking about 4 minutes. Being built on the side of a hill it has, thankfully not allowed too much expansion and commercialisation and as a result has retained much of its charm. In the main street itself (Fore Street - as you will find in most Cornish villages) you will find the Polruan Stores and Crumpets Cafe, on the Quay is The WinklePicker Shop (which is also the Post Office). There is a fabulous walk around the Fowey Estuary called the "Hall Walk" which takes in both ferries and Pont Pill Creek and offers some fabulous views - this is well worth doing. The coastal path offers breathtaking views and access to some fabulous beaches such as Lansallos and Lantic Bay, two of Cornwall's hidden gems. Just across the estuary is Fowey (pronounced Foy) one of the most iconic places in Cornwall. Like Polruan it is set on the steep banks of the estuary, the narrow streets and alleys are just great to explore and there are numerous small shops and boutiques, pubs, cafes and restaurants. Views of the harbour are dramatic. Life in Polruan and Fowey revolves around the water. The local fishing fleet land the freshest catches and local specialities include mussels, oysters, clams, crab & lobster. Alongside the fantastic beaches there are many other water based activities to get involved in: Harbour tours, sea fishing, kayaking, swimming, self-drive motor boats, I understand there is a picnic boat you can hire... and so on. Life on the water culminates in August with the the Polruan and Fowey Regattas where yacht racing takes place all week. Watch the historic Falmouth Working Boats racing in the close confines of the estuary or enjoy the many landbased festivities around the estuary. There are countless attractions near to the Captain's Cabin including the Eden Project, Lanhydrock House & Gardens, the beautiful Luxulyan Valley and the Lost Gardens of Heligan. Par duck ponds & woodland walks link to the Clay trail's long distance cycle paths. For garden lovers there are many open gardens to explore including Marsh villa Garden. • The most beautiful accommodation in a stunning location. Everything was perfect from start to finish, from excellent communication to the most exquisite attention to detail throughout the apartment. Could not have asked for a better place to spend my birthday. Just perfect.

  • The many positive comments about this holiday let and its host Jeremy are all certainly true. We arrived to find the Captain's Cabin to be warm and clean with a stylish decor. What a thoughtful and welcome touch the bottle of fizz and homemade brownies was. No one could fail to be impressed by the unobstructed scenery from the bay window in the living room. The large bed was complimented with a cosy duvet and sumptuous pillows. Jeremy has provided an informative 'Welcome Book' which we found very useful for finding out about walks, eating out and general information regarding the surrounding location. The very local Lugger Pub mentioned was a great find for craft beer and good food - I can recommend the lemon sole and steak pie; the menu changes daily. We don't think you'll fail to fall in love with this idyllic place.

  • This is a gorgeous peaceful getaway. The window in the front room looks across the river estuary and never fails to give you peace. The town is great and the apartment is just perfect, cozy, comfortable and clean. Just wish we booked an extra night to enjoy Polruan and the b n b even more! Will be back.

    Peter2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • This is a little gem of an apartment, the views are to die for and will keep you sat in the bay window just watching all day ! The fizz and brownies were a lovely touch but I especially liked the fresh flowers. Everything was totally spotless and clean, i was worried about the cream carpet so my husband was made to take his shoes off in hallway especially after a trip to the Lost Gardens of Heligan. We unloaded our car at the teashop and then parked in the car park, just remember to keep lots of change handy for this. Totally quiet at night as not near any traffic, but quite steep if you have any mobility problems. We loved it and as it says `once you are there , there is no need to go anywhere` ! We would like to go back in the Summer.

  • I'm not sure there is anything we can add to all the glowing reviews of this place. It is everything people say it is, and more – Jeremy is a superb host, and the photos can never do this place justice. It is stunning, and the view will be something you'll never forget. The town itself is within minutes of incredible country walks, friendly pubs and a charming ferry ride to Fowey. We wished we could've stayed for an entire week.

You will receive a truly warm welcome here at Little Shippen Cottage. This is a cosy studio apartment in the heart of the countryside. Your front door will lead you directly into the woods. There is a double bed, dining table and chairs and the kitchen is adjacent. There is a modern shower room. Guests are welcome to explore our enchanting woods and stream side walk. We are next to Deer Park Forest and a 20 minute drive to stunning beaches including Talland Bay and Lansallos.
This gorgeous studio apartment was built as a mine workers cottage in the mid 1800s and formed part of the North Herodsfoot mine which is famous for lead and silver. Right outside the door, you will hear the sounds of the stream trickling by - such a relaxing sound. With the owls hooting in the evening, and the tranquil location, you truly feel like you've got away from it all.
Our village is wonderful and we regularly hold village events including beetle drives, pop up pub, coffee mornings and quiz nights

  • This was a perfect spot for exploring the Looe area and some other parts of Cornwall. Little Shippen Cottage had everything we needed for a short break and was an extremely peaceful setting.

    James2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We loved it there, it was so quiet, and too many places to walk out dog to choose from, the room was more than adequate for our needs!

    Jonathan2020-01-26T00:00:00Z
  • Little Shippen Cottage was a charming place to spend a couple of days. The space itself was cozy without feeling cramped and had everything that was needed - it was a huge bonus been able to cook and Faye was very helpful and welcoming upon arrival. Obviously a car is necessary in order to get around, but the drive up to the main road was very pretty and simple.

  • Faye's cottage is really amazing, I strongly recommend it to everyone visiting Cornwall.

Castle Dore Barn is a prefect retreat for relaxing in the Cornish countryside. With breath-taking views of the rolling countryside populated with wildlife. The barn is centrally located to enjoy many of Cornwall's attractions with beautiful scenic walks and cycling trails. Lovely beaches are only a couple of miles away. Castle Dore Barn is in a quiet rural location with beautiful views. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and families (with kids).
  • Just fantastic in every way. Beautiful barn in an amazing location. Perfectly peaceful. We'll definitely be back.

  • A lovely place to stay with great hosts. Beautiful countryside and lots of great days out.

    Soledad2020-02-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a fantastic stay at Castledore Barn. Four nights wasn't enough! The views are great and the barn itself is beautifully furnished and very clean. Comfy beds, lovely shower, great kitchen! Cream Tea on arrival as well as freshly laid eggs. Colin gave us a tour of the farm on our last day and our little one rode the tractor which was fab. Despite the wind and rain we had throughout our stay, we had a lovely time. I'm sure we'll be back! Thank you!

    Lauren2019-12-13T00:00:00Z
  • We have just returned from a truly wonderful stay at Amanda and Colin’s barn. The place is a little piece of heaven. The Barn itself is beautifully laid out and decorated. The views are stunning and the morning sunrise is breathtaking. We had fun playing tennis and the kids toys were very handy. Amanda and Colin really are “Super Hosts”. The welcoming touches on arrival made us feel at home straight away. Scones, wine, biscuits, fresh flowers and of course the sausages and bacon. Wow! We would recommend this place to anybody who wants to experience the beauty and tranquility of Cornwall. We loved every minute of our stay.

    James2018-10-26T00:00:00Z
  • Everything we hoped for and more... Nothing is too much trouble and the location is stunning... we were torn between visiting Cornwall’s sites or staying in the beautiful barn all day.... Definately worth a visit and I’m sure that will lead to return visits as it has us.. Roll on next year.....

    Bill2018-10-19T00:00:00Z
  • Wow what a stunning barn! Amanda was so welcoming making sure we had a cot and high chair so we didn’t have to lug extra things in the car. The cream teas and fresh coffee on arrival was second to none. It’s a lovely beautiful living space with spacious bedrooms. We will definitely be coming back. Thank you so much!

    Hannah2018-03-19T00:00:00Z
  • Such a lovely location!! Amanda & Colin were brilliant, complimentary cream teas and amazing accommodation! Before I had even left I had already recommended friends to take a visit! Cannot recommend this place enough! Thank you Amanda & Colin.

  • 10/10 Just come back from a wonderful week away in Cornwall. It was sad to say goodbye to the lovely barn and its stunning views. We had everything we needed and more, thanks to the cream tea on arrival, which was very much appreciated. Amanda and Colin were great - the cot and high chair provided for our four month old saved us some space in our three door car! The location was great for us, as we wanted to explore the local area, but also go a bit further out to Falmouth and St Ives, which were both only an hour away. The barn is very well insulated and very peaceful, the next time we visit Cornwall we will be back.

Swimming pool, sauna, outside games, small animal farm. Dogs very welcome.
South Torfrey is a working organic farm, set in a secluded position above the Fowey estuary, three miles from the beautiful historic harbour town of Fowey, that's only a five minute drive away. We offer plenty of available parking and fabulous facilities on site for our guests. Gillyflower has a wood burning stove (fuel provided), stair gate and en-suite shower wet-rooms. The master bedroom has a king-sized, pocket sprung bed made up with 100% cotton linen - because we don't underestimate the value of a good night's sleep. The second bedroom is a twin with a second en suite shower room. The cottage has a private, walled, gated sun deck, with a charcoal barbecue, garden furniture and a chiminea to make the most of warm summer evenings. It has a private hot tub for two, enclosed in a fenced grassed garden. Please visit our website for more detailed information on this cottage and others, plus the surrounding area, or contact me direct and I'll be happy to talk about specific requirements.
Our working organic farm is located within the Fowey River valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It's a fantastic area to explore by foot, kayak, sail or hire boat. Also a central position from which to explore the delights of Cornwall. Please visit our website: (website hidden), to see what local attractions have to offer.
  • This was our second stay at Gillyflower & we enjoyed it just as much as the first time. The thoughtful and much appreciated provisions waiting for us on atrival were great and all of great quality and mainly organic..delicious. Clean, stylish and very well appointed accomodation with the addition of brilliant facilities to suit us all..The hot tub, swimming pool, games tables, book/dvd library are great. We hope to return again!

  • Very good place to stay with children, especially small ones. Lots of opportunities around the place without leaving the farm: farm animals, pool, playground and more. Very clean and everything you need to cook your own meals. Lovely hosts, they even take you for a run if you like to go. Can only recommend Debbie's place!

    Olivia2019-07-30T00:00:00Z
  • Very friendly hosts and allowed us to wonder freely around the farm seeing their animals. We enjoyed the open plan kitchen-living space and had all the amenities that we needed including a stairgate. Great hospitality.

    Andy2019-07-18T00:00:00Z
  • We would highly recommend this accommodation. A lovely private barn conversion over two floors. Welcoming hosts. A great place to relax and unwind. We would love to go back.

    Lisa2019-07-13T00:00:00Z
  • The place is an absolute dream. Immaculate and has everything you need. Stocked up with tea coffee cereal yoghurt milk butter bread and all spices etc such a nice touch. Even provide logs for fire outside. Would highly recommend. Hot tub and pool are a fab extra touch too.

    Dianne2019-06-30T00:00:00Z
  • This was such a special place, the apartment felt really private with a lovely child friendly deck and an adult friendly hot tub. There were lots of extras for families like stairgates and a playground and the swimming pool was an amazing bonus for our little ones! Would definitely stay here again.

    Jenni2019-06-23T00:00:00Z
  • We were a family of four (two adults and two kids - 9 and 10) and we had a lovely time. The farm cottage we rented was beautiful and the kids loved the animals (which they visited every day) and the additional activities they could do at the farm - including table tennis, swimming, etc. The host was very helpful and made us feel comfortable and at home- from the initial goodies left for us in the kitchen to allowing the kids to feed the sheep one day and offering suggestions for local walks, etc. Although the place is isolated and you would need to bring everything with you as you cannot walk anywhere (within a 20min walk) to buy food or drinks, the place is absolutely beautiful, the cottage very clean and you can go to many places if you have a car. There are also many supermarkets within a 20 min car drive. Fowey is absolutely beautiful and so are the other little villages nearby and the great coastline. We loved the place and we would highly recommend it, especially if you have a car.

    Cristina2019-06-01T00:00:00Z
  • A great set up, this would be perfect if you are renting just one place for your family or you want to rent multiple places with friends but still have your own place. Great facilities for families and lots of open space. Only one pub in the local village so you need to drive for more to do in the evening. Everything you need in the cottage and made travelling with two babies so much easier as everything was on site.

All furnishings and equipment are new; the d/glazed chalet has a basic kitchen area, It's in a third of an acre of gardens. WIFI available in greenhouse. There are no extras charged for, such as 2 persons, cleaning, or breakfast. Breakfast mostly organic is provided in the Chalet - self-serve- and consists of choice of 2 cereals, tea, cafetière, decaff and non-decaff instant coffee, herb teas and biscuits, plus the items in the fridge-freezer mentioned in the next category: .The Space :
Ideal for undisturbed relaxation, in a huge garden in the centre of Tywardreath, 2 minutes from village shop, fish and chip shop, church and pub, 3 minutes from the local bus stop, and within walking distance of Par railway station, the beach and the coastal path. It is located in an Area of Outstanding natural Beauty. The Kitchen area has kettle, toaster microwave, cafetiere, crockery and cutlery. tea coffee and biscuits. Guests have access to the outhouse - en route to the Chalet - which houses a large fridge-freezer - where organic milk, bread, butter orange juice jam/marmalade and ground coffee are provided free.
Tywardreath is a very old village with lots of history, its name, translated from the Cornish, means 'house on the strand' - the title of one of Daphne du Maurier's novels. I could bore you with lots more on this subject :-). The village is a short distance uphill from the National Coast Path, the nearest beach (Par beach) - is very wide and has a large (paying) car park, dunes, a cafe, a pub at the entrance (The Ship), good, fine sand; gently sloping to the sea - so safe for young children. The water is very clean. The views are exceptional. Par has a post office, several pubs and shops, a small Co-op supermarket, library, bike hire and railway station - 15 minutes walk from the house. The Eden Project is 20 minutes by car.
  • This venue gave us very local access for so many attractions, especially the Eden Centre, Fowey, Polperro and Looe. Clive made our trip really easy, we felt very welcome and at home; he gave us countless tips and ideas about what to do locally and loaned us a very useful map outlining the shortcuts to places. The cabin was very cosy, despite the foul weather outside and Clive tried really hard to accommodate our use of wifi and various other needs. The washing up fairy meant that we could come home to all of that done and the use of the fridge was very helpful. For this and all the other very thoughtful touches, we were most grateful. Lovely place to stay for a short break.

    Pauline2019-11-05T00:00:00Z
  • Very quaint stay. Clive is super interesting and a thoughtful host

    Edward2019-10-27T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay here, the chalet had everything we needed, in a peaceful setting and it was nice not to have a TV or any WiFi and switch off properly. The breakfast was delicious and thanks for our apples too! The chalet provided a great base to get to the beach, Fowey as well as walking distance to a great pub! Thanks Clive and Catherine for being such great hosts!

    Isobel2019-10-03T00:00:00Z

    Karen2019-09-23T00:00:00Z
  • A lovely space. Private, clean and has everything you need to have a comfortable stay. Clive and Catherine are friendly and helpful hosts. We are walking the coast path and it is well positioned for that. Thoroughly recommended.

    Lynn2019-09-20T00:00:00Z
  • We would strongly recommend Clive's chalet. It's conveniently placed for those visiting the Eden Project, and it's only a few minutes walk from Par station, so if you're visiting Cornwall without a car, it's ideal. The chalet was exactly as described, and breakfast was delicious. Clive was an excellent host. He responded quickly to texts and gave us some tips for the local area.

The Old Carriage Works is a split level apartment in the magnificent grade 2 listed building originally designed by Brunel. It nestles alongside the upper tidal reaches of the Fowey River which flows past the property. The apartment itself has retained many character features including high ceilings and granite walls while maintaining an air of modern luxury.
The Old Carriage Works is part of a railway building originally constructed in the 1860s and designed by Brunel himself, the exposed stonewalling, high arched windows and industrial timber beams add to the timeless grace of the renovation. However inside all modern conveniences are catered for with a superbly well equipped kitchen and tasteful decor and furnishings through out.On one side of the Old Carriage Works the Fowey river trickles through the shallows and ducks paddle calmly through the dappled water, on the other side is the railway line and Lostwithiel Station. The station provides an opportunity to visit some of Cornwall's key towns (including Penzance, St Ives, Falmouth and many others) without the need to take your car. You can also travel direct to Lostwithiel from London. As a stannary town Lostwithiel is one of Cornwall's hidden gems with a wonderful atmosphere but also close to the Eden Project and the stunning south coast towns of Fowey, Looe and Polperro.AccommodationSituated on the first and second floors of the building the apartment is on split levelsLower Level: Enter into hallway with doors leading to: Kitchen with fully fitted units. For those wishing to visit the delights of places such as The Eden Project, Charlestown and Fowey, this is the area for you, located on the Eastern side of St Austell. With large attractions such as the Eden Project on the outskirts of St Austell, The Lost Gardens of Heligan towards Mevagissey, and Lanhydrock National Trust House & Gardens a short drive inland it provides an ideal base for your travels. The coastal town of Fowey is a simple drive to the coast past the China Clay port of Par, offering fabulous restaurants, galleries and gift shops. Daphne du Maurier spent her later years in properties in and around Fowey.Just over the hill from Eden Valley lies the ancient stannary town of Lostwithiel, Cornwall's hidden treasure, nestling in the Fowey River valley and overlooked by the 12th century Restormel Castle. This ancient town with its quaint old buildings is full of the hustle and bustle of everyday life, centering around St Bartholomew church which dates back to before 1170. The town is surrounded by beautiful countryside with the Fowey Rover meandering through the centre of the town. St Austell was once the major producer of the world's China Clay; now with cheaper foreign imports, the industry is in decline but The Wheal Martyn China Clay Museum set in two former working pits depicts the countryside in years gone by. Wet weather activities could include the visitor centre at St Austell Brewery, sampling beers and ales made on the premises. The Eden Project hosts many bands throughout the season as well as featuring an Ice Rink out of season.Bodmin was the former county town of Cornwall for many years and the only Cornish town to be recorded in the Domesday Book, which was lodged in the town's prison during the First World War. The county prison is now a museum and open to the public. It was the first prison in the country to have separate cells. The oldest part of the town is made up of mainly granite buildings clustered around the Bodmin Beacon. The Beacon is a 144 feet tall obelisk in memory of Sir Walter Raleigh Gilbert. The area around the Beacon which has woodland and traditional hay meadow was declared a Local Nature Reserve in 1994. At Tregullon you are just 10 miles away from The Eden Project and 2 miles away from the National Trust's amazing Lanhydrock House.Nearby Bodmin Moor, bisected by the newly expanded A30, is home to one of Cornwall's Areas of Oustanding Natural Beauty, reaching a height of 1,377 feet above sea level at Brown Willy, Cornwall's highest point. The heather covered granite moorland provides East Cornwall with the most stunning country views and rugged walks. Near Blisland you will find two of Cornwall's stone circles, the Trippet Stones and Stripple Stone Henge and just round the corner, one end of the famous Camel Trail. The 18 mile Camel Trail follows the route of the old railway along traffic free paths, providing a fairly flat cycle through Bodmin and Wadebridge out to Padstow, eminently suitable for families.

  • We had the best stay in Alison's gorgeous cottage. It was spotlessly clean with every comfort we could want for. Alison contacted us ahead to ask if we'd like the stair gate and travel cot put up which was a thoughtful gesture. There were boxes of toys and books to keep the little ones busy and we loved the welcome basket with scones, clotted cream, and jam. The cottage was really cosy and warm thanks to the aga and we loved how spacious the kitchen was with views over the fields to the sheep and cows. Would love to stay again one day.

  • The cottage is wonderful. Unfortunately we didn't chose the weather very well, the wind and rain were howling outside but my favourite time was sat down around the lovely warm aga in the kitchen with family. This place exceeded my expectations and perfectly suited our needs. Alison was extremely accommodating with our unexpected late check in, she was very responsive to messages which was extremely helpful when we got a bit lost on the way down. We really appreciated all the little extra touches Alison has done to make our stay easier and the house was immaculate. Highly recommended to all.

  • Perfect stay on a lovely farm 😄

    Milly2019-09-26T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely cosy, comfortable cottage, with splendid views across open countryside, particularly from the kitchen window. Very quiet and an ideal place to relax and get away from it all. Alison was very helpful and gave us lots of useful information about the area.

The Crow's Nest offers a stylish and cosy self catering flat with double bed, en suite, fully equipped kitchen and views of the surrounding countryside both inland and towards the coast. This third floor apartment, although part of the hosts home, is completely private and just a short walk from Par Sands. It's finished to a high standard and offers excellent levels of comfort. Susie and Joe are friendly, approachable and happy to assist with local recommendations. Well situated for walkers.
1 bedroom with double bed, toilet with shower and fully equipped kitchen. We are well situated, just a 5 minute walk from Par station and on several bus routes. Only a 3 mile drive away or 50 minute walk is the Eden Project. Beautiful Fowey Harbour is just a ten minute drive or you can enjoy the sea views on the short bus ride. The Lost Gardens of Heligan are also close by. There are several pubs within walking distance and the Coast path and Clay trail meanders past the house so great for walkers. We also have Carlyon golf course on the doorstep. There are local amenities such as a Co-op store and Spar open 7am until 10pm, 7 days a week. A Chinese takeaway and fish and chip shop are also within walking distance. The Crow's Nest makes an ideal base for exploring our stunningly beautiful coastline, small towns and villages.
Just a ten minute drive from Fowey and the Eden project. There are Coffee shops, pubs, a Chinese takeaway and a fish n chip shop plus the beach all within easy walking distance. The coastal path being just twenty yards away and the train station a ten minute walk means we're a convenient place to stay for those on a walking holiday. If you enjoy walking there's a lovely coastal walk to Polkerris with a welcoming pub at the end the Rashleigh Arms Dame Daphne du Maurier (Lady Browning), was an English author and playwright who made this coastline her Cornish home. Just a little further along the coastal path towards Fowey you will walk past a lovely cottage with a lake where she once lived. I'd like to think it was the beach house she spoke of in her novel Rebecca. Another of her books 'House on the Strand' was based in the village of Tywardreath and surrounding area. Why not explore inland and walk one of the many mapped routes, one of our favourite walks is the stunning Luxulyan valley, a twenty minute drive away. Many National Trust houses such as Lanhydrock are also close by however, If you're looking for a more adventurous way to explore from a different view point then we highly recommend one of the stand up paddle (SUP) experiences. You can book lessons, social sups or tasters e.mail: paddlecornwallsup or we can give you details on arrival, it's a great way to explore the river Fowey and it's wildlife. Ask for contact details on booking. If you're a Poldark fan then you can't go home without visiting Charlestown where much of the filming was done. It's a walk back in time and the home to several pubs who serve excellent food and a harbour where you'll see several square rigged ships that are used for filming and training. It's amazing to see them out at sea under full sail and a real treat to watch them negotiate the return to their birth in the harbour
  • The room was amazing! Room and services were very comfortable and the provisions were excellent. Would definitely stay again 10/10

  • Perfect! A wonderful place to stay. The hosts thought of everything we could possibly want during our stay and were willing to go above and beyond what would be expected. Would definitely go back to stay again and would highly recommend to anyone.

  • My wife and I have tried a few Airbnb places. This is the best so far. It’s warm, cozy, spotlessly clean and it’s been tastefully decorated in pleasing colours. The hosts Susie and Joe are very nice. They left us bread, milk, butter, cereals, coffee, biscuits, etc to get us started! There’s lashings of hot water, the heating is on 24/7. All the accoutrements you need to be self catering are provided. The place is a delight.

    Paul2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Susie and her husband were wonderful hosts. The Airbnb was fabulous and there were so many homely and personal touches. The kitchen was very well equipped with plenty of cereals and breakfast treats including home made preserves to go with the bread and croissants . A really cosy and friendly place to spend a few days in the wonderful cornish countryside.

A cosy roundhouse made almost entirely of upcycled materials. We live in the hamlet of Redlake which is within walking distance of both Lerryn and Lostwithiel. The roundhouse is in its own little paddock with horsebox bathroom with compost toilet, large shower and washbasin, there is also a small outside kitchen. You will have a firepit/bbq to spend peaceful evenings around. Surrounded by beautiful untouched countryside and close to some of the best beaches and secret coves you will find.
Please note there is a compost toilet in the horsebox.
A quaint riverside village of Lerryn is just a 1 minute drive or 20 min walk away. We also have a train station nearby in the ancient stannary town of Lostwithiel, 20 min walk away and is on the mainline from Penzance to Paddington. With the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty all around us you will be assured of a tranquil stay. Just a 15 minute drive away from a selection of beaches and coves.
  • We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the redlake roundhouse, it’s an amazing house which is great if you’re environmentally conscious and in need of a relaxing get away. We stayed for two nights and couldn’t recommend this place enough! Rae gave us directions for a walk into the village of lerryn which was very idyllic and had a great pub with a pool table. She also gave us ideas for coastal walks which we did. Thank you again, we’ll definitely be recommending to friends and family!

    Harry2020-03-04T00:00:00Z
  • Redlake Roundhouse is a lovely place to stay, the roundhouse is a beautiful structure and the horse box loo and shower is really quirky! It was so lovely being there and the surrounding countryside is beautiful too. We would definitely go back!

    Robin2019-10-20T00:00:00Z
  • We really enjoyed our stay at the roundhouse - a wonderful and distinctive place to relax and explore the local area. Highly recommended and, hopefully, we will visit again in the future.

    David2019-09-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had an amazing time staying in the Roundhouse, with everything you could want in a living space, kitchen area and quirky bathroom horse box. Great amenities to help with a very comfortable stay and very welcoming hosts who made us feel very comfortable. We couldn’t have asked for more, we will definitely be booking a stay again in the very near future!

  • The place, views amazing Beds are super comfortable, this is where most fall short The parking at top with our 7 seater van was no issue Local pub combined with great neighbours we will be back

  • I came here with a group of friends to celebrate a milestone birthday. The river views are incredible and the location was lovely. The pub was really close by, served great food and we also were able to kayak from the village. Most of our group chose to park by the rowing club for a small charge, as the road to the property is very narrow and exactly as described in the info section! Not a problem at all though, as it’s only a 5 min walk to the house. The beds are super comfy and we all left feeling recharged! A great stay had by all :)

    Theresa2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • This is a truly great property in a stunning location. Seriously the river views from the property are superb, you won't be disappointed. We were a group of 11, two families, and having so much space but all being under one roof made our stay just perfect. An extremely memorable trip for us. Also it's perfectly placed if you want to get on the river, we did kayaking which was great fun too.

    Matt2019-07-29T00:00:00Z
  • The host was very enthusiastic and asked us what we wanted before we arrived. The house was very clean and beautiful. Thanks to the landlord for providing us with a nice house, we had a great time

  • If you are looking for a total escape away from the fever pitch pace of life, River View is the place for you. This is a magical house with breath taking panoramic views and beautiful walks; a peaceful place to relax and recharge the batteries away from it all. This is a cosy cottage, in the heart of Fowey, a beautiful Cornish town. Just a few minutes walk from Fowey's restaurants, shops and pubs and opposite a long stay car park, with easy access to the Bodinnick Ferry for Looe and Polperro and just 15 minutes from the world famous Eden project. Please be aware that the cottage is two hundred years old and has low door frames, arches and steep stairs with small steps. Also the steps to the decking at the rear are steep and not child friendly.
This is a 200 year old renovated cottage close to the town centre, with an outdoor patio giving you views over the River Fowey. Right next to Caffa Mill car park, which takes you over to Bodinnick for the Hall Walk or onto Looe and Polperro.
Fowey is an ancient town but is also a working port. It's colourful history involves pirates and French invasions and it remains a vibrant town today. We are lucky to have many independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants which make the town centre, a few minutes walk away, a lovely place to spend time, as well as a Town Quay as a central space.
  • Lovely cottage, located just a few minutes away from the centre of town. We used it as a base for hiking around the area, but bad weather meant we spent a fair duration inside. It felt really homely.

    George2020-02-16T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and lovely property! The house is great, with all the amenities needed. Check in was easy and the lack of parking isn’t too much of an issue as there is a car park a two minute walk from the house. Fowye is beautiful! The town has a lovely range of independent shops, pubs and restaurants. There are also lovely coastal walks that you can start from the front door.

    Clare2020-01-17T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful cottage with a really well equipped kitchen. Perfect distance from the town. Beautiful view. Well recommended.

    Josie2019-12-03T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely location for this old terraced cottage on the edge of town. Sinead's place is really clean and well furnished and despite not having private parking, is just a couple of steps from a car park. Had a really enjoyable stay, exploring Fowey and the surrounding area.

    Natalie2019-11-19T00:00:00Z
  • Great location and lovely cottage for four people.

  • Caffa Mill cottage is a very comfortable place to stay. Very good spacious kitchen. Bedroom good size. Heating good. Large bathroom. It is exactly like the photos. Great location near a carpark and you do not have to drive through Fowey. Sinead is also a good communicator. Would stay again.

  • Don't hesitate for a minute, book this Cottage. It's so lovely and homely and the location is spot on. The outside terrace and the views are amazing.

  • This little cottage is gorgeous and cosy, had a fantastic time here with my daughter, so much to see and do in the village, we also went to the little beach and paddled, and when weather turned wild and windy we treated ourselves to spa treatments at the nearby Fowey hall. The cottage was spotless clean, lovely bath and really cosy bedrooms, and just a short walk to fantastic restaurants!

We rely on solar for power and some hot water - we also have a log boiler for additional water heating. There are no TVs or WiFi, but 4G is available. Underfloor heating and USB charging points. There is a seasonal Cafe at the Boatshed too. We also join the Saints Way Path - which leads to Fowey.
  • Karen’s unique off-grid ecohouse is perfect for those who really want to get away for some rural r ‘n r. Situated on a steep hill with lovely views over the river, it wouldn’t suit everyone due to the fact that the approach is challenging and breakfast is communal. For peace-lovers it is perfect. It is not a hotel but more a series of 4 simple but stylish and comfortable rooms with balcony, which can be rented individually, although it is also possible to take over the whole house. There are 12 acres of hillside land with delightful bird and wild life which guests are welcome to explore and enjoy. Numerous estuary and coastal walks start from the door and take walkers in all directions.

Modern apartment with private outside space, ideally situated. Located seconds away from the river Fowey and an easy, five minute walk to the centre of the harbour-side town of Fowey with its beautiful river views and great bars, restaurants and boutique shops. Within walking distance to a lovely beach and a wide range of water-based activities. Public parking available opposite. Fowey is the perfect base from which to explore Cornwall's vast array of attractions and excellent walking routes.
This self-contained apartment is newly decorated and furnished. It has a tasteful, modern design and features art relating to the local area. With double doors opening from the lounge area onto a private decked area with seating and a barbecue, it is the perfect place to relax after a day enjoying the area. It has a well-equipped kitchen and a new, high-spec bathroom. The bedrooms have views over the communal garden areas and feature comfortable beds with memory-foam mattresses and pure-cotton sheets. The apartment is on the first floor and is accessible via both stairs and a lift. It is worth noting that the second bedroom has a small double bed and is more suited to a single adult or two children. The sofa in the lounge extends to a double temporary bed if required (bedding not provided for sofabed).
The apartment is in a great, central location, seconds away from the river and a 5 minute walk into the centre of Fowey. The walk into town is relatively flat (rare for Fowey, it gets pretty hilly off the central streets!). Parking is available immediately outside the apartment (again, rare for Fowey!). There is a great ice cream shop a minute from the apartment. Kayaks can be rented across the road from the apartment building. The car and foot ferry to Boddinick and beyond is very easily accessible and you can drive to and from the apartment without the need to go through the town centre. See here for a birds-eye view of Fowey www.foweyharbour.co.uk/360.

  • Very friendly host who was easy to stay in touch with and allowed us to check in early. The apartment is modern and stylish and very comfortable. It's beautifully clean and a short stroll from the centre of Fowey. We loved staying there and would highly recommend it for a visit to Fowey.

  • A lovely, comfortable and convenient sparkling clean flat, with some very thoughtful touches such as Netflix and a bluetooth speaker. Easy parking across the street and even a lift to get your suitcases upstairs.

    Ilan2020-03-02T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely clean flat with everything you could need. Super comfy beds and (my personal favourite...) sharp knives in the kitchen! Useful little bits available like tea and coffee, and a phone charger! Its tucked up into the cliff so a little dark without much of a view, but 5 minute walk into town and parking directly opposite. We had a lovely few days exploring and would go back!

    Ailie2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • This is a extremely well appointed flat. Lots of nice touches, very comfortable and stylish decor. Good location for the centre of Fowey. Kerry was also prompt to respond and accommodating about arrival and checking out times.

  • A modern and stylish apartment just a short walk from Fowey high street. The public car park is handily just across the road and has reasonable charges. The apartment itself is well appointed and finished to a high standard. Fowey is a lovely Cornish village with a nice mix of old and new pubs, restaurants and cafes.

    Matthew2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • We had such a wonderful stay at Kerry’s place. It’s in an excellent location along the high street, only 5 minutes walk from the centre of Fowey. The house is sparkling clean, stylishly decorated and very well equipped. The beds were very comfortable and we had a brilliantly restful weekend as a result. Kerry was great to deal with; very quick to respond and helpful with suggestions. We’re already thinking about when we can come back and stay here!
