We have been on the road for a couple of months and stayed at many Airbnbs. And stayed at many over the years. Our best stay ever has been at Stefania's. Civita is a great village for a few days. Canyons, mountains etc. Stefania opens her wonderful house up so you feel at home. And Stefania is such a beautiful person. We had many great conversations. Stefania made breakfast for us each day that was superb. Can't wait to go back again. Don't miss Meraviglioso...tutto..l'hospitalita di Stefania e fuori dell mondo... Civita zu besuchen und bei Stefania in ihrem mit viel Liebe und Geschmack eingerichteten Haus zu wohnen und von ihr mit einem koestlichen Fruehstueck verwoehnt zu werden, das ist wahrer 5 Sterne Urlaub. Wir wurden mit soviel Herzlichkeit empfangen und haben unsere 5 Tage bei Stefania sehr genossen. Wer im Sommer kommt - unbedingt die 'Ponte dell Diavolo' besuchen und von dort aus zum Flussbett hinunterwandern. Sich im Fluss abzufrischen ist ein herrliches Vergnuegen. Auf dass Dein Haus Stefania immer voller Gaeste aus der ganzen Welt sei!

Il mio soggiorno era perfetto. Il Comignolo, consigliato! Words, in any language, are not adequate to describe a stay at Il Comignolo. The geography of Civita is majestic, the ancient town is magical, and the house itself is imbued with a positive, creative energy. Stefania is a relaxed host, one who invites you to be woven into the natural rhythm of her home. Just outside her door is the imposing, panoramic wonder of the Raganello Canyon. After hours of feeling amazed by nature or enchanted by Civita's little streets, I was happy to return to the comfort of Stefania's universe.

My second week with Stefania was just as wonderful as the first. I was able to learn more about the people and culture of Civita, Italy which dates back to (PHONE NUMBER HIDDEN). This is a truly amazing village; shopping in the piazza, trekking to Raganello/Devil's Bridge meeting Stefania's mother Nella, Daughter Sofia and her friends Antoinella, Aliana, Michela and baby Giordano. Stefania was most gracious in sharing her family and friends with me and with helping me make travel arrangements. She lovingly shares her beautifully restored home. After taking 5 years to restore and keeping with the original 1800 structure Stefania opened her home to travelers from all over the world. Stephania was a most gracious host and I felt welcome in her home and she went out of her way to make my visit enjoyable. From having her friends pick me up from the bus station in nearby Castrovillari to taking me to the market to buy groceries and necessities. I loved Civita and highly recommend this small historic hamlet to anyone who is seeking to immerse themselves in the Italian culture and surround themselves with majestic mountains, peaceful valleys and violet sunsets. I also felt welcomed by Stephania's mother Nella and enjoyed singing songs in Italian and English with 5 year old Sofia; a most delightful way to relax during my visit. HIGHLY recommend staying here! Stefania is a fantastic host and her home is beautiful. Civita is such a lovely little mountain village - I really felt like I found a hidden gem in Italy. The local people are extremely nice because there aren't too many tourists, and so you get the real feel of Italy. There are great hikes all around the mountains, and the beach is close if you want to do a day there as well. Stefania's daughter Sofia is absolutely adorable as well - we had fun while I was there. You will really feel like you're at home when you are here. I cannot thank Stefania enough for such a fantastic visit.

Our Trip to civita was a special one, because of the village, but also because we were hosted in such a special place. Stefania's B&B is not only a place where you sleep. You can taste a typical flair of civita with a very familiar and lovely Inspiration from stefania. Her cute house has many places you can relax and enjoy the beautiful view at the mountains and the sea. The rooms are very nice and clean, everything is created with love and soul. A very cosy place in a beautiful little town. Spotlessly clean bathroom with a very good shower and a great view from the balcony. The room has a very low ceiling due to the inclined roof but still looks spacious. Stefania put much love into furnishing and decorating this nice old renovated house. The underfloor heating made it warm even in the winter time. We felt very comfortable right away and can highly recommend this place!

Both myself and my girlfriend had an awesome time staying with Stefania and her family in her lovely house. She went out of her way to make us feel welcome and also arranged a special birthday meal for me at a local restaurant. We sadly only one night there and want to return one day!

Stefania's home is an absolutely stunning restored old house in beautiful Civita and Stefania herself is a charming and kind host. Our room had the nicest bathroom we've ever seen, comfy bed, gorgeous decisions and a little private terrace. We had superb breakfasts of fresh coffee, home-made vegan tarts and yogurt with granola plus a bonus delicious pasta for lunch with friends and family one day. You should definitely visit Civita, and when you do you should absolutely stay with Stefania. We can't wait to come back!

We cannot recommend this wonderful place enough. Stefania was the kindest and most generous host we have had the pleasure of meeting. We were in Civita for a friend's wedding and it was the perfect place to stay over the weekend. Quiet, comfortable, with all amenities and walking distance from the town centre. Stefania went out of her way to help us arrange transport to the wedding (no mean feat in Calabria in August). She also made us a lovely breakfast of local produce every morning, which was a real treat. Local attractions in Civita include spectacular hiking trails, and we recommend eating dinner in the courtyard of L’Antico Ulivo. Special shout out to the adorable cat Luna! Grazie mille Stefania x

This place is like a dream and Stefania is a welcoming host. Superb in all aspects.

We had a great stay at Stefania's B&B. The room felt very luxurious, with our little balcony and a beautiful bathroom. It feels very homely and welcoming. Being able to use the rest of the house made preparing food easy. There are only 2 guest rooms in the B&B and it was nice chatting with the other guest that was staying there. Stefania took us on a walk to a lookout point which was amazing. Breakfast was very delicious with lots of choices of food. Stefania is a lovely host, who gives you privacy when you need, but is also willing to welcome you into her home like family. Civita is beautiful and we recommend staying here.

I had a perfect time staying here. Stefania was lovely, very friendly and helpful and immediately made me feel very comfortable in her home. It was a calming peaceful room with a combination of modern luxuries and earthy comfort although the bed quite hard but comfy enough for me. Very quiet and peaceful and the village is wonderful and set amongst stunning scenery with great local walks and a tour of the village that Stefania has put together into a beautiful booklet.

Lorenzo gave us the best of welcomes. We needed Lorenzo to help us find the door as passage to the B&B is winding and easy to get lost in. We gave Lorenzo a ring when we arrived and he received us near the trattoria 'Il Pino Loricato'. This is an excellent place to have dinner by the way. The Quercia room is beautiful and well-appointed. The view across the valley is outstanding. Lorenzo had left water and fresh fruit in the fridge for us. After dinner (see above) we had a really good sleep in the very comfortable bed. Lorenzo could not do more to give us any thing we wished for at breakfast time. We were very well-fed. Thank you Lorenzo, you are a perfect host.

Luego de un viaje nocturno por las montañas calabresas, llegamos a San Lorenzo Bellizi, un pueblo hermoso e historico en medio de una vista bellisima. Ahi nos esperaba el GRAN Lorenzo, una persona que nunca olvidaré por su amabilidad y calidez. Nos hizo sentir a mi mujer y a mi como en casa, un desayuno super completo y muy confortable su casa. Espero que todo el mundo vaya para vivir la experincia de un verdadero pueblo del sur de Italia, totalmente autentico. Gracias Lorenzo por todo y espero que mucha gente te visite.

We, a family of 4, stayed a night at Lucia's agriturismo as part of a road trip in Calabria. The agroturismo was the perfect place to recharge the batteries. The location is secluded and quiet, and the place itself had enough animals and a small playground to entertain the kids. We enjoyed the beach a short drive away. Lucias and her family did a great job in making us feel welcome. We highly recommend eating at the agroturismo. Lucia and her family cooked a wonderful and complete Calabrian meal with lots of great (and local) antipasti.

Un incantevole, adorabile e speciale soggiorno trascorso in un contesto unico e ricco di emozioni. Relax, ottima colazione, eccellente cucina, olio e vino straordinari, accoglienza e permanenza favolosa. Tutto perfetto, sicuramente ritorneremo e consiglio a tutte le persone che sono alla ricerca di tranquillità ed estasi tra la natura di non esitare nella scelta de I Gelsi. Un ringraziamento speciale a Lucia, donna straordinaria e molto attenta, esperienza e cordialità in un contesto eccezionale.

The cosy, little house is situated in the middle of the quiet, narrow, medieval streets of the ancient mountain village of Civita, 3 walking minutes from the piazza. There are two rooms with two double beds (materaces should be renewed!), a toilet and a tiny, cosy kitchen with a fire place. There's a spacious bath room in the basement an a small terrace on the rooftop. The furniture and the equipment are basic but mostly sufficient. The place is a good point to start activities from, like mountain walks, canyoning or just swimming in the Ionic Sea or a visit to the Aquapark, ca 80 km from here. The communication with the host, who does not live here, was very friendly and we received a warm welcome from Rosella (even as we arrived quite late). They were very helpful and tried to make our stay as comfortable as possible for us.

Antonella and her family were very kind to us. The flat has a lot of space with a nice garden. It is located in a calm and residential area. The village nearby is charming. Natural baths are not far were you can cover yourself with mud and enjoy a bath with sulfur water.

Host molto cordiali e gentili,alloggio sito in ottima posizione ,facilmente raggiungibile, molto spazioso e ben illuminato ( consiglio di indicare con più precisione l'esatta posizione con coordinate gps ) , casa pulita ma con alcune gravi mancanze (la cucina non provvista di lavello, è sito all'esterno della casa e non mi sembra normale, un frigorifero troppo piccolo , fornelli a gas dall'età della pietra e malfunzionanti , chiara e netta perdita d'acqua dallo scaldabagno , l'impossibilità di aprire finestre per far cambiare l'aria e refrigerare , assenza della lavatrice )

La famiglia di Antonella è stata splendida e ci ha subito fatto sentite come a casa nostra. La casa è in un posto strategico, a 15 minuti di macchina dalla costa e altrettanti per raggiungere i bellissimi paesi di Civita e Cechiara (e le gole del Raganello). Vicinissima anche la Grotta delle Ninfe con la piscina termale. Di sicuro, quando ripasseremo in questa splendida parte di Calabria torneremo da loro. A presto!

Vorrei raccontare, o meglio cercare di farvi immedesimare riguardo la nostra vacanza nella casa di Maria (URL HIDDEN) credo che, anzi sono pienamente convinto sia meglio provare quanto noi abbiamo provato, e trovato: tranquillità, rilassatezza, approccio con la gente del posto con grande famigliarità. Il tutto contornato dalla visione del bel panorama collinare sino al mare, ma anche montano con possibilità di alcune passeggiate verso i luoghi storici locali. Inutile menzionare i cibi, specialità e gastronomie.....vera "ciliegia sulla panna" come si suol dire. Maria Grazia, inoltre, è molto professionale: ci ha seguito in tutte le cose, bisogni personali e informazioni varie. Una eccellente Host.

Abbiamo trovato la casa in ordine e pulita. La zona decisamente tranquilla e Carlo ci ha fornito diverse indicazioni per rendere ancora più piacevole il nostro soggiorno.
