  • Michelle is an amazing host! When we were coming Storm Jorge was about to hit Ireland, she wrote to me with a warning and offered free cancellation. Fortunately we took the risk and it was one of our best stays recently. The room and bed are huge and comfortable, the shower is clean and has suprisignly great water pressure and temepratur - perfect after windy and wet Ireland day :). Highly recommended!

  • Beautiful place, wonderful host. Really enjoyed my stay here. I highly recommend Michelles accomodation. You ve got your own large room with bathroom, some food and stuff to make tea or coffee. The room is very clean and you have a nice view on some fields and hills/mountains in the Burren. Michelle is a very good host. She is very kind, she even took me to galway because i was hiking and there was some pretty bad weather. It was very nice to stay there and i think next time i ll do that again. -sven

  • Michelle has a superb house, in the middle of the fields, in a superb region of Ireland. His welcome was warm, as was the decoration and the communication throughout our stay. Many little touches that made us very happy. Impeccable cleanliness, great comfort and independence in this small room with bathroom. I highly recommend this accommodation! To sum it up: lovely house and lovely host!

  • What a wonderful house in the "middle of nowhere". Really equipped with all conveniences and very stylishly furnished. Despite the somewhat remote location you are in fifteen minutes by car in BallyVaughan or the larger Kinvarea. A pub is even closer. We had a wonderful time here with the cozy fireplace, lovely balcony and free garden.

    Christian2019-09-10T00:00:00Z
  • All perfectly fine. We very much enjoyed our stay and we can totally recommend that cottage. Thanks for the pleasant stay and we always felt very welcome.

    Sebastian2019-09-07T00:00:00Z
  • A beautiful, quiet and cosy place to stay. Complete with all we needed to stay for nearly a week. Comfortable and fab access to a great deal across the Burren. Margaret and Richard go above and beyond what is expected and have great advice for what to do and see locally! Would definitely stay again!

    Timothy2019-08-31T00:00:00Z
  • This cottage is so well equipped. We had everything we needed and tons of information for seeing the sites. It is a very quiet spot, which is just what we were looking for after a conference in Dublin. The lovely balcony and places to sit in the garden are lovely. We particularly enjoyed the recommendation for Monk's Restaurant and Bar. We would love to stay there again.

  • we particularly recommend this cottage for several reasons: First and foremost, Helen and her husband are very kind people, and they advised us on places to see in the Burren. the cottage offers a wonderful view and the place is quiet and relaxing. the kitchen is well equipped with everything you need to cook, the bathroom has been renovated and the mattresses are comfortable (little more the view of the room !!) we also made beautiful walks around the house. thank you again to our hosts for welcoming us and sorry for our English is not very good. we will come back with pleasure (with a bottle of wine from us) Elaine and Alois

  • Catherine's place was great! Extremely close to the water, you can hear the waves from the front porch! The house was nice and warm, the bed had a heated blanket as well which was great. The only downside was the very small amount of hot water available for showering, but you just have to be very quick as it only lasted a couple minutes at most. But overall the stay was great and we would definitelystay again if we were in the area!

    Kevin2020-02-15T00:00:00Z
  • Magical place to stay. The construction car was rebuilt and furnished with great attention to detail. Catherine greeted us and showed everything. Unfortunately we only spent one night here. In summer you can certainly spend wonderful days here.

  • I cannot begin to express what a wonderful place Mary has! The cottage is such a beautiful place to stay! It is clean and very well maintained. The location is perfect for site seeing, close to Galway, the Burren and the Cliffs of Moher as well as other beautiful places. Daisy and Baby are sooo adorable and not shy of strangers. They will come up to the wall when you are out there and eat right from your hands!! Mary is a wonderful host who really takes care of her guests. She is quick to reply to messages and has given many suggestions for places to go. We stayed as the Covid-19 pandemic was closing everything yet Mary was quick to message us with other places that were still open. We couldn’t have asked for a better host!!! We will certainly be back with our kids!!!

  • Great cottage just 30 minutes away from the Cliffs of Moher. A expected a tiny cottage and was grateful to find it quite a bit bigger. Little touches like bread, butter, and honey were nice. The two donkeys were adorable and were comfortable with human interaction.

    Joseph2020-03-09T00:00:00Z
  • If you want to experience Ireland outside the bigger cities, this is definitely the place. Very cozy farmhouse. They even leave some carrots to feed the donkeys in the field out back. Nice location to get to Cliffs of Moher or driving the other way to Galway. We would definitely stay here again.

    Olaf2020-02-23T00:00:00Z
  • We wish we would have stayed longer! We were blown away by what a gem Ballyvaughan was - this home was so lovely and cozy with the peat stove, daisy and her baby (who loved the apples Mary thoughtfully left for us to feed them), the delicious lemon cake waiting for us upon arrival, and the fabulous Monk seafood restaurant in town. Thanks so much for sharing your home!

  • We were in Ballyvaughan for our daughters wedding. We couldn’t be more please with our stay at Raymond’s cottage. The house was roomy, the necessities were all in place, and the view, absolutely spectacular!! Truly magical!! (Note we stayed in the cottage with the green door). Although we didn’t feel safe walking the road into town, it is only a view minutes drive to the town center. But we were able to walk down to the beach just across the street. Beautiful!!! We can’t wait to stay again!!

  • Our family of 6 (2 adults + 4 kids 5-16) had a great week here in late July/early August. The seemingly small cottage is very spacious inside; the kitchen/diner providing a great hub for meal times, the living room a cozy resting place at the end of each day, and the upstairs bedrooms in particular are very big. With large gardens front, side and rear there's plenty of space for the kids to run about safely, and for the grown-ups to sit in the sun. We were blessed with mild weather so didn't need the heating on, but one night had a lovely fire of peat briquettes just to enjoy the coziness and the wonderful peat aroma. This is a great base to explore the Burren, Glaway as well as the rest of Clare; there's plenty of places to eat and drink in Ballyvaghan and surrounding villages, but for us, the best bit is the wonderful beach so close by at Bishops Quarter, just cross the road and follow down the lane. Great walks along the dunes, and the kids had hours of fun catching crabs from the little bridge. We got to the beach every day without fail - even on the couple of days when the wild wind blew off the Atlantic. A super stay in a superb location. A true home from home nestled in between the hills and coast of rural County Clare.

My place is close to great views, the beach, restaurants and dining, family-friendly activities, and nightlife. My place is good for couples, solo adventurers, and business travellers.
Our home is located in the heart of the Burren, along the Wild Atlantic Way. Our home is close to beautiful beaches, walking trails, restaurants, fine dining, family friendly activities and traditional Irish pubs. Our home is surrounded by breath taking scenery, with stunning views of the Burren landscape and Galway Bay. We live on the outskirts of the beautiful fishing village of Ballyvaughan. It is an ideal base to discover; Doolin, The Cliffs of Moher and Lisdoonvarna, which is famous for its matchmaking festival. We are centrally located only 40 minutes drive to Galway City and one hour from Shannon Airport.
  • I was keeping odd hours but my hosts never complained. Often I would come back to the room well after everyone was asleep, so we didn't communicate as much face to face as some guests might. However, this worked for me as I was able to work hard during my Residency at the nearby Burren College of Art. Room was really clean, great furniture, and the bathroom was excellent. (The heated towel rack was a very nice touch). Would stay again.

  • Grace was not home but the key drop off was not a problem. The room and the bath was really nice and clean. The house is in the country side with a cool view. Cows and sheep’s in the yard ;-) If you don’t have a car it might be a bit too far away from the local restaurants and shops. But you get a lot of nature. Would def. stay there again.

  • The room was so amazing, super duper clean and beautiful. They were super friendly and it is a great place to be in the country.

  • The place is very clean and especially the shower is great. It is a bit out of town, which makes it very quiet, what’s nice, but also a little difficult to reach without a car. Grace and her husband are very nice though and even gave us a lift to town, therefore the distance turned out to be ok :)

Our renovated coach house has 2 comfy bedrooms and open plan kitchen & living area with a solid fuel stove. Sea views, fantastic base for exploring the Burren. Walking distance from Linnanes Lobster Bar a popular restaurant & bar serving a great menu. Beach 2 mins walk. Our cottage shares the courtyard with our house so we are nearby if need be.
A piece of heaven in a rural area in the heart of the Burren overlooking Galway Bay.
Although we live in the country we are fortunate enough to have a pub within walking over looking the pier where you may be lucky enough to catch a fish or two but don't fret if you don't Burren Seafoods on the pier is where you can purchase fresh fish and shell fish.
  • Loved this place - cosy, clean and modern accommodation. The location is beautiful and is only a 2 min walk to a wonderful seafood restaurant. There are also some great walks nearby. Would definitely recommend renting a car to go see other things along the Atlantic way.

  • Was a welcome break, close to the cafe/art gallery, the pub/restaurant (with locally farmed oysters!) and Flaggy shore

    Margaret2019-08-11T00:00:00Z
  • This was hands down the best stay of our 8 days traveling all around Ireland! The cottage was perfect for our family of 4 ( l2 adults and 2 teens). There was plenty of dish ware and cookware with which to cook. The gallery across the road is fabulous and has many beautiful fabrics, jewelry and paintings, some of which are local. Just ask! The lobster bar, Linnane’s, was also a walkable treat for dinner and drinks. The beach is a 5 minute walk away and has amazingly clear water/—gorgeous! Diane, Derek, their children and pets (who live next door) were wonderfully friendly. They were available for recommendations, but also gave us our privacy. All in all, a perfect 5 stars!

Watching the cows walk down the road each day was nice too. Bonus was that our toddler slept perfectly with the cot and blackout blinds provided which meant that we could enjoy our stay that much more.

  • The location makes this place very special. It’s remote, but yet close enough to essential amenities. The property is cosy and comfortable. Brid has great knowledge of the local area and is only too happy to share it. Make sure you try her ice-cream parlour that’s close by - very tasty! Our little dog felt very at home too. We’d stay there again.

  • This stay was everything we hoped it would be and more! Like others said, the pictures don’t do it justice. The house itself was spotless and so cozy. The view couldn’t be beat and the location was incredible. Gabi was a kind and thoughtful host and I would recommend this to anyone looking for a peaceful few days.

    Allison2020-02-26T00:00:00Z
  • Gabi's place was so much fun. We loved every minute of it especially when the goats came right up to our cottage. 10 out of 10! Would love to stay here again.

  • If you want a one-of-a-kind experience while you’re traveling along the Wild Atlantic Way, look no further than Gabi’s place. The guest house is immaculately clean, equipped with everything you need and more. We visited around Christmas and the house was adorably decorated and cozy. Gabi is so joyful, and we got so lucky as a bunch of “kids” had just been born, so we were able to hang out with baby goats! One of the best Airbnb experiences we’ve ever had. Can’t wait to go back someday!

    Sarah2020-01-04T00:00:00Z
  • A slice of heaven! Gabi's place is simply wonderful. We stayed her over Christmas for 4 days and we loved every moment of it. The house was spotless and very cosy and we felt right at home. Every morning we could look out onto the ocean and we felt very secluded and safe. We also loved seeing the goats!! It felt like a real, country farm and Gabi's little touches to make it feel like Christmas away from home were lovely. Go raibh maith agat Gabi!

  • We couldn’t have asked for a better escape during our trip around Ireland! The views were stunning and it was such a peaceful place to stay! We did a day trip to Galway, which worked well since it wasn’t far at all and it was much easier for our budget. Gabi had the cutest extra touches that was so sweet to walk in to. She was such an amazing host!

    Casey2019-12-01T00:00:00Z

    Elli2019-11-20T00:00:00Z
  • The photos don’t do this place justice at all. It’s absolutely beautiful. Gabriele was so nice and had fresh eggs and other breakfast items for us. Our car battery died overnight and she was nice enough to jump our car for us. She was so kind and accommodating. The goats were so much fun and the grounds are absolutely gorgeous. My husband and I loved walking around and drinking our coffee in the morning. I didn’t want to leave!

My house is a modern cottage with plenty of ambience. It is compact but not cramped and is furnished with some mid century pieces and some modern furniture and lighting. Set in the tranquil surroundings of the Burren mountains but close to many interesting amenities including The Flaggy Shore and Corcomroe Abby, The Cliffs of Moher and Ailwee caves are amongst the attractions. The house is in the hamlet of Belharbour

There is a reading space on the landing and also inside the french doors. Downstairs is open plan kitchen/ dining / living with a stove. • Kate was an outstanding host, very kind and helpful when we mixed up directions to the chalet. The chalet itself is absolutely beautiful, and Kate has it styled to perfection. The inside of the chalet resembles an adult-friendly version of a treehouse and it it brought out the excitement of a child in us for the two days. The landscape was breathtaking, and both the Burren and Allowee caves were in close proximity by car. Would defintely return again in the future.

  • A lovely time with kind people in a beautiful, private space! Thank you!

  • This was a lovely stay! We stayed for 2 nights and Kim was extremely helpful with local tips. John was great to talk to during breakfast too. Their house is BEAUTIFUL and the bedroom was very comfortable. They had the best bathroom out of all the places we stayed in Ireland with a lovely view of the neighbouring farm and Galway Bay (may have to go on your toes to see). This was the best shower for all of stays in Ireland. We appreciated the breakfast, and the coffee was really good, but I would have enjoyed a better variety (some fruit, yogurt, cheese) instead of a selection of baked breads. Be mindful that the roads are narrow coming in to this location, however that was not an issue for us at all. Just take your time and enjoy the drive! Beautiful stay, 15 minutes from Galway, enjoyed Kim and John's company and very beautiful home.

  • Kim and John were the perfect hosts and we were made to feel very welcome. The house was lovely as was our room and we looked forward to our breakfast chats. Lovely location close to Galway and surrounding area. I would highly recommend Kim's house to anyone visiting the area.

  • Kim’s place is just beautiful and so clean and located close to Galway but with just enough distance to enjoy the beautiful scenery. She was so gracious when we arrived at midnight and served us breakfast in the morning. Would definitely recommend!

  • An absolutely amazing property with two great hosts. Loved our morning conversations over breakfast. Nothing but superlatives to say about our stay.

  • Kim and John's home is very welcoming and warm. A little bit out of town but no problems if you have a car. They supply a lovely continental breakfast for you to start your day and are very accommodating to your needs.

  • This is the most lovely and welcoming B and B in which we have ever stayed. The owners are wonderful hosts and their home is their masterpiece with beautiful antiques and accessories. The scenery is rugged but beautiful with nice views on clear days.

Coming back to this house was so welcome each night. Warm and all we could wish for. We would love to visit in the summer, too, and would not hesitate to return to this air bnb.

  • If I travel to Ballyvaughan again, I will definitely and without hesitation book Mary’s beautiful home!

    Nancy2019-09-30T00:00:00Z
  • Loved staying at Mary’s place in the center of Ballyvaughn. We didn’t rent a car, so location was important to us. The house is very comfortable, and the village is so welcoming. It’s hard to separate the two, so I’ll recommend them both.

  • The most gorgeous cottage with incredible views. The host communication was excellent and were on hand to sort any issue out. It was decorated so beautifully with Christmas decorations which made us feel so Welcome. The cottage is beautifully decorated and the beds warm and comfortable. The kitchen was huge with everything you could possibly need. The tips for walks in the area were great when we reluctantly left the cottage to go out. Thank you also for the vests. Very highly recommended this gorgeous cottage.

  • We stayed at Clare’s for the Christmas holiday. The space was larger than we expected, and we especially loved the sun room. The rooms were comfortably decorated with lots of pillows and blankets. We had everything we needed to fix holiday meals in the kitchen. The house was quiet and relaxing. The view was great. We enjoyed long walks and a special dinner out at Linnanes restaurant. Diane and Derek were extremely responsive and helpful hosts. Highly recommend!

  • What a special spot! A beautiful home, much larger than the photos let on, and an absolutely wonderful location. We stayed for five days and could have easily stayed an entire month. Great set up for us, three adults plus two small children. Beautiful area to explore. Stop in to Linnane’s Lobster Pub (so delicious), book an oyster shucking with Gerry, walk to the gallery and along the coast, and enjoy the changing weather and tides. Highly recommend!

    Anne2019-10-14T00:00:00Z
  • We chose Clare’s place because it was the half-way point for us (between the Cliffs and Galway— we needed multiple days at the Cliffs for a wedding) and we are so glad we stayed! It was such a comfortable home with a beautiful view!

    Tori2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect house in the perfect location! Clare and Diane we're in touch before and throughout our stay to answer our thousand questions about the area and Ireland, in general. We would definitely stay here again, if we get the chance.
