Yi is a wonderful host. She communicated fully in advance of our stay and was very welcoming and lovely for the duration of our stay. Yi can help arrange drivers for you (she helped us out with a driver to go to Shika Snow Mountain and then back to Lijiang) and she also has great recommendations for things to see and restaurants to visit. In fact, there is a fabulous yak hot pot restaurant right next door (it is awesome). The rooms at Yi's are cozy and the photos that show the views of Guishan Temple are accurate - what beautiful views! I loved seeing the temple at different times of day and it is especially beautiful at night when it is all lit up. We also loved Yi's cats. They add such a nice feeling to the whole place. We highly recommend staying here in Shangri-la.

The room i stayed in was really nice with fantastic Tibetan decor, and the host was very attentive to whatever I needed, including rides to and from the airport. Also, the location is perfect, right within the old city. Be aware, if you visit in the fall that it is really chilly at night, and there is no heat or hot water, but there is an electric blanket that works well. The daytime was warm, however. I dont think you will get heat in most places in that area at that price point. I had a really nice stay, and would go there again.

Staying in the house of 杨 (Yang) was the best experience I had during my trip in Yunnan. And I really regret that I stayed there only for 2 nights as the place and its owner are incredibly wonderful. ;-) The house is very stylish and beautifully decorated. It is located in the Old Town of Shangrila, in the walking distance to many interesting places. My room was exactly as on the photo, cosy and very clean. Nice bathroom with hot water 24 hours and very good Wi-Fi. There is a common space (a kind of a huge living room) where you can stay, relax, meet another guests and where Yang serves very very tasty breakfasts. ;-) She is an incredible person - very friendly, open minded and warm. Her hospitability is incredible - she treated us as members of her family. She was very helpful, provided us with all information we needed. Yang organised transport for us from the bus station and to the airport - the driver Nima is a really nice and talkative person. If you travel and besides taking photos and sightseeing people are important to you, you should definitely to stay in Nine Cloud and immerse in the kidness and hospitability of Yang. I highly recommend the place to stay. Yang, I hope to come back to your place in the future. ;-)

Our trip was too short unfortunately and we hope to return again to see more of the genuine culture and natural sights around the place.
