A lovely house in a lovely town. The hosts were very friendly. They made it feel like it was our house. The house itself is a kind of museum with old fashioned doors, taps yet has all modern facilities. And we loved their dogs and cactus. In short, we did not stop there for the weekend, we lived there.

This was a real find and our stay here was one of the best Airbnb experiences we've ever had. Lovely place, interesting history, lovely people who wee very friendly and exceptionally helpful. We had a very sad reason for our visit but our hosts made everything easy and were kind and so made our visit memorable in a very happy way. Thanks so much. X

Amazing place to stay with such lovely hosts, Paul and Vickki!! Such a gorgeous house and made to feel extremely welcome and comfortable by a terrific couple! My bedroom was so lovely and I slept for 9 hours straight in peace and quiet! Paul and Vickki insist you treat their house like it's your very own home. Excellent WiFi, TV, and great wood burning stove to relax by, not to mention their gorgeous spaniel Olly! I'll be back with my wife for some cycling and running in the amazing scenery, which unfortunately I didn't have time to make on this trip as it was for just the one night..... Oh... Nearly forgot, great selection of cereals and spreads with your toast for breakfast too!!

I had a very good experience staying at Paul and Vikkis. Their cottage is situated in a very quite and nice area near Darwen. I reached a bit earlier than planned but Vikki was very welcoming and helped me settle in comfortably. Both the room and the bathroom were big and clean. Vikki was really kind to buy some very nice locally made bread for the breakfast, but unfortunately my stomach was full with milk, cereals and coffee and hence I couldn't try it. We didnt have time for some chit chat the previous night, but we did make up for it in the morning. All in all amazing hosts, really easy going and very much accommodating. Stay at Kebb's cottage if you want to feel at home.

We had a lovely stay at Yvonne's cottage. is a beautiful area, the house is lovely and cosy with everything you need. There was a slight issue with the boiler but this was dealt with very quickly - much appreciated. Communication was 10/10! Would definitely recommend a stay.

A very well equipped and cosy home off the beaten track. If you are bringing children there are plenty of games and books to keep them occupied if weather is bad, facilities like stair gates and high chairs are available on request, nothing seems too much trouble. We were w little concerned that if the weather was icy, we would have trouble accessing the cottage as lane leading down to it is quite steep but we were lucky that this Christmas has been mild. However I am sure if we had a problem, help would have been on hand. We were able to cook a full Christmas a Roast for 6 adults and 1 child on the range cooker and all utensils were supplied. All in all a delightful place to say with a scenic view and walks close by, although, weather and time did not allow us to try any walks. Definitely will consider again when having a family gathering.

One of best place I have ever stayed in Airbnb. This place is very beautiful and has loads of space. Kitchen is very well equipped and garden is far bigger then what image shows. Ynonne is wonderful host. View every morning will remain in my memory forever. This place is right for family stay and comfort time. I would highly recommend this place. Looking forward to come back again.

Very homely, great place to stay for a family. There is absolutely everything you need. Really good location, peace and quiet but only minutes from Blackburn or Darwen and all facilities. Would thoroughly recommend it.

Sean was great, a very nice person and easy to have conversation with. He communicated well with me and helped me with directions to his place. location of the place from the train Station cost just £3 and and the accommodation is neat and comfortable.

A great stay with Angelika! She' made me very welcome in her warm and quiet house. She was also extremely accommodating of my antisocial sleeping arrangements while working night shifts, and happy for me to have breakfast in the afternoon! I hope to stay again in the future....

My first Airbnb experience was great. I felt very welcomed - which was great as due a flight cancellation I was arriving 6 hours late at 1am. The bed was very comfortable and the shower strong and hot just what I needed. The breakfast was just to my liking to get me going. Angelika could not have been more accommodating. The location was great in an area where otherwise at short notice on weekend many hotels are full of wedding guests.

Super comfortable, welcoming home, Angelika looks after you from the moment you enter. With a large bedroom, with tonnes of storage, and an adjacent bathroom, you are never lacking space. I would happily go back, as four nights left me fresh and able to focus on my holiday.

This was our second time at Lisas and Rays. They both are very friendly and welcoming, trying to do everything they can to make the stay most enjoyable. The Interior is fantastic, wonderful en-Suite, comfy bed and a lot of room to put all your stuff. The views are stunning, looking out of the window you see the darwen Tower and the moors. Definitely coming here again.

Where do I start? From start to finish, everything was perfect. The room itself was very spacious and comfortable and the house as a whole is stunning. The welcome I recieved as soon as I walked through the door was great, I felt like I was visiting old friends! My only possible gripe, was that I did not find this earlier as I travel to the area frequently. Will definitely be staying again. Thank you so much for everything.

Yvonne and Dennis are a lovely couple who made us feel very welcome. We had a very comfortable stay in a chilled and relaxed atmosphere; the surroundings were delightful and the house was beautiful. Nothing was ever too much trouble for Yvonne and Dennis and they even drove us to a lovely pub so we could have a drink with our meal! On the second night of our stay we enjoyed a chat and glass of wine with them and it was great to have hosts that made us feel so at home! We would thoroughly recommend staying with Yvonne and Dennis whilst visiting the Lancashire countryside; they are great hosts!

This was my first airbnb stay. It's impossible, for various subjective reasons, that they can all be as special as this one, so I'll try to be objective and stick to things that matter to travellers. I arrived on a dark November evening and had the warmest imaginable welcome from Yvonne and Dennis. After ten minutes' talking, I felt as if I'd known them all my life. The house is beautifully renovated, the room as lovely as the photographs suggest. However – and I promised to try to be objective – if you do not feel comfortable in temperatures below 22° Celsius, this may not be your first choice of accommodation. The house is a wonderful Grade II-listed property, with all the attractions and limitations that implies: these, Dennis informed me, included restrictions on the type of glazing permitted. I had dinner with Yvonne and Dennis both evenings I was there, which for me was ideal, mainly because they're such great fun to be with. I was busy while I was there (great high-speed wireless broadband in the room) and had no need to explore (I was born and brought up two miles away), but it's a wonderful starting point for discovering the region. Fabulous. Loved it. And I will stay with Yvonne and Dennis whenever I get the chance.

The ultimate hosts. Yvonne and Denis welcomed us into their home unreservedly. Lovely house, comfortable bed, great breakfast, what more could we ask for.

Yvonne and Dennis made us feel very welcome indeed. The room was well appointed and very comfortable. We had a good night's sleep and the breakfasts were excellent. The house was splendid and one in which we were made to feel very much at home. It was a pleasure to be looked after so well and we look forward to another fine stay the next time we're in Oswaldtwistle.

My partner and I had a wonderful stay with Jane! We over in Blackburn for a wedding and Jane helped us by letting us arrive early, finding taxi's and checking out costs. She went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and the pictures on here don't do her beautiful home justice. If we are ever back in Blackburn we'd certainly look to stay again!!

Kerry was an excellent host and very helpful in the build-up to our visit and also during our stay. As the first guests after the renovation, we felt comfortable and found the home to be well setup for a family of four. An excellent choice for a person or group looking for a country escape - while remaining close enough to all of the amenities such as pubs, restaurants and shopping. We'd definitely recommend a stay here.

James was a very welcoming host, showed me around the house and made me feel at home upon arrival. The house was spacious and very clean and was in an ideal location for me as I was going to football ground which was just a short walk away. I had no problems whatsoever with my stay, would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a short stay in Blackburn, and if I find myself in that neck of the woods needing a place to stay again I will definitely book with James!

James gave me a very warm welcome and was friendly. The room is very basic and the facilities are sparce but the bed was comfortable. The area is quiet, mainly because it is industrial and run down and so not very scenic. It is good value for money.

James made me very welcome on arrival and was an excellent and generous host throughout without imposing on our freedom or privacy. The flat was impeccably clean with all the facilities you'd expect. Everything worked as it should. The location / immediate area doesn't look particularly appealing on arrival. There are run-down industrial buildings around but residential streets and a corner shop within 100 metres. There's also a convenient train station a very short walk away.

The large farmhouse was a great convenience for gathering with family in the Chorley area over the holidays and Nick even left us a Christmas tree in the garage we decorated on the 23rd. The farmhouse is spacious with a large dining room table and we had a bit of fun learning to cook on an Aga stove (which also kept the kitchen warm). Bedrooms were comfortable and there was a beautiful patio which makes one want to visit when weather a bit warmer. As Nick mentioned, one could see the fireworks over Blackpool out the back on New Year's Eve. Location felt private with great views of the countryside and we enjoyed the ease of walks straight out the door as well as the Cricketer Pub in village of Brinscall which was also walkable. Location great if one is in the northern England locale and a great base for visits elsewhere in the North. We would definitely contact Nick again if returning to the area for a large family gathering.

The farm was easy to find and set in a lovely location with local shops nearby in case you need anything last minute. We received a very warm welcome when we arrived and the host was very helpful. The hut is quaint and private and the fire makes it feel homely and cosy - but no lock on the door for anyone that may find that an issue - we didn't mind though as we were left to our own devices. It might be difficult for anyone uneasy on their feet as it's set out of the way and if the grass is wet it's quite slippy walking up the hill to get there. All in all though for us it was a perfect nights stay :)

We had a wonderful little escape here for a weekend. The fire is an excellent touch and warms the hut very quickly. The farm is great i would recommend it to anyone.

The shack is set up on a hill side with great views across the valley. It's a very peaceful place. Dot is lovely. The amenities are basic but that is part of the charm. The wood burner in the shack is a brilliant touch, nothing better than listening to the crack of the wood burning in the evening. Don't forget your wellies and enjoy the countryside. A fantastic place to stay and get away!

The Shepherds Hut is even better than in the photos! Great location in walking distance of both beautiful hills and a handy little town, the log burner makes for a very cost stay, and Dot is a wonderful host! Would highly recommend it

The Shepherd's Hut was a great place to spend a few days in peaceful surroundings. The hut is basic but comfortable with a wood burner and good bunk beds. The views down into the valley are lovely and there are beautiful walks across the moors behind the farm. Close enough to Helmshore and Haslingden if you need the shops but remote enough to feel as though you've got away from it all.

The hut was easy to get to, and the view fantastic! The toilets were clean and more than I needed - I did like the overall sustainability aspect feel of the place! We unfortunately used the electric heater, the wood was a bit hard to light. Tip: bring your own, ideally compressed logs which you easily can break if they don't fit into the oven. Wonderful place to stay, hope to be there more often!

Staying at Sarah's was wonderful. The room is clean and very cosy and the house is in a nice quiet area, I slept very well there. Sarah is a lovely host, relaxed, warm and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. She is chatty and sociable but also conscious of giving you your own space. With regular transport links into Bolton nearby and so reasonably priced it is highly recommended.

I stayed at Sarah's place for one night and Sarah was the loveliest and friendliest host I could have imagined. She was very helpflul and here home was very cute, clean and lovely. The house is in the suburbs of Bolton, so you have to take the train from Bolton Station. As the train just takes 8 minutes, the location is still alright. There are some shops and supermarkets near Sarah's place. I definitely recommend Sarah's place and Sarah as a host.

Sarah is a lovely friendly host. I stayed there for 3 nights a week for the last five weeks whilst studying at Bolton Uni. It was lovely to have someone so friendly to come back to each night. A lovely cosy home and great location for access to Bolton town centre. I will definitely stay again if I need to be in Bolton.

Sarah was the perfect host, very friendly and made you feel like one of the family. The location was excellent for a 25 min commute to the macron stadium. Parking was easy right outside the property and a nice pub two mins walk away. Would definitely recommend staying again if in the area for business. Bromley Cross è una zona molto tranquilla con brevi distanze dal centro e da Stazioni di servizio, come treno,ospedale, mini market e pubs. Sarah è stata fin dal primo momento una persona molto accogliente e disponibile in ogni singolo momento. La defiirei come 'lovely mum in a Short time'. Persona socievole e dinamica, molto pulita e ordinata; tutto ciò ha reso il mio soggiorno immerso in un ambiente unico e solare... ragione per la quale iniziare al meglio le mie giornate!
