We stayed at Henderson's place for 6 nights - we were 4 of us visiting Goa to attend a business trade fair. The home is located in the quiet but beautiful neighborhood of Curca, about a 10 mins drive from downtown Panjim. The owner rented us his bikes, which made our commute easy and convenient. The Villa itself is simple, absolutely clean and homely. Worth way more than its price. It has 2 bedrooms, one with a double bed, one with a large single bed, a living room, dining area and a kitchen with all amenities. 5 to 6 people can comfortably stay there. The only drawback was that bedrooms don't have attached bathrooms, however the large clean bathroom, next to the kitchen, is easily accessible from both bedrooms and has modern sanitary and shower facilities. Behind the villa, in another home full of beautiful kids and pets is where Henderson's family lives. Both his aunts and their kids are absolutely generous, caring and loving hosts - they made us feel at home throughout the trip, cooked gourmet Goan food for us 3 times a day and even packed home made spices for each one of us to take home. The home also has a small trail attached with enchanting views to backwaters. The beautiful Curca forest springs are just a 5 mins walk away, they made every morning of ours healthy and eventful. I will definitely stay here again and would recommend this place to anyone who wants to stay comfortably a little away from Panjim, feel at home and get spoilt with loving homely care.

What a wonderful villa it is. Peaceful place in a small village very nearby to panjim. Neighbourhood consist of a lake and farms. And hats off to their host, aunt maria. Such a lovely and polite lady she is. she provided us everything what we asked for be it rented vehicle, cab or bonfire arrangements. And yes, their in house menu is superb and aunt maria knows how to make delicious food. I will give this villa 10 on 10. Highly recommended.

We arrived in Goa at the Panjim bus stop lost as ever like tourists. These wonderful people came and picked us up in their Maruti van with all our luggage. We were accompanied by his friendly grandfather who enlightened us with his wisdom. We reached earlier than the check in time so they took us to their house and let us freshen up and provided us with Goan goodies for breakfast. The little guy (maybe age 9) in the family actually insisted on Helping us picking up the luggage. Everyone was homely and welcoming. The house was right next to theirs it was a little house with Poach out front and the most wonderful back water lake in the back. It was nicely made up with all mentioned furniture. And pictures and pretty things. It was nothing like what we'd expect Goa to be. It was quite and aesthetic. It was like going to a party in the afternoon up to the night and coming back to the authentic, homely side of Goa in the night. It was the best experience living there. They were also ready to help us fish for crabs that they'd prepare for us later. But we didn't have time for it. They surprised us with some alcohol on the house the day we arrived. They were the best host ever. The only complaint is have about the place would be its location. It was difficult to travel to far away from the city. However they also helped us find scooters to go around. All in all it was wonderful stay with the Henderson's and they made our stay in goa complete.

It was a very nice experience, we loved this place, if you are looking for a peaceful place where you relax followed by a hactic day, this is a perfect place, slightly far from panjim but if you have bike or care distence doesn't bother you, and host are really nice.

That was a awesome trip we have. Specially thanks a lot Maria. She is a very helping lady.The home is much bigger than shown in pictures. I had never seen such cleaned and well managed homestay. Maria and her husband is very helpful she is always be there for any issue we are facing. I am not giving 5 star just becoz of single bathroom and a bit away from the beaches.

The kind of receival and the way of treatment was excellent. The house is very well maintained and very much ideal for those who loves the scenic beauty of a village. This place is super awesome With nature at its best around you Cleanliness is great Only complaint I've is with stupid local neighbours who had wedding going on and they were making noise late night.. And my 2yr old daughter was having trouble sleeping Nonetheless Henderson did tried all he can to stop it appreciate his efforts overall a good place to stay.. Tip: In country like India people have cultural differences so be ready for a generalised comment on what's wrong with Hindu wedding etc ... LOL

This was my first ever AirBNB booking, and I was a little apprehensive. But my experience with the hosts and the place was amazing. Very polite and extremely helpful people. They went out of their way to help us out. They also have a delicious food menu for all meals, and helped us out with can arrangements and the like. Definitely recommended. The place can easily hold 9 people comfortably.

This was the perfect stay for groups of friends or family. Very relaxed location with a great view and cool breeze all day. Sandra and Valentine were super accommodating and friendly, taking care of all our needs. Would highly recommend this place to anyone looking to have a good time.

The caretaker is awesome as well. One of the A/C remote's batteries ran out and Valentine got it replaced overnight even though he was traveling. There simply could not be a better place to stay in Goa than this villa. The scenic view and the huge villa with all modern furnishings and amenities made our stay extremely comfortable. It was exactly as in the pics but the location was way better than we had expected. Perfect place to unwind. The caretaker was helpful and the host, Sandra made sure we had a good stay. The kitchens had some basic supplies for cooking and all utensils that you would require to cook. There were quite a few good places that delivered food as well. I would love coming back to this villa on future visits to Goa.

Sanjeev is a great host and very accommodating (we reached past 1 AM and he stayed up to give us directions and ensure we reach the apartment without much trouble). The house itself is large and well furnished and maintained with a great view of the hills. There was ample parking available for our motorcycles as well. The location might deter some but the peace and quiet is what I and my partner prefer. Perfect for those wanting to be close to Panjim and old Goa. Highly recommended for those traveling with families.

Apartment exactly as described and as shown in photos. Very spacious apartment and excellent view from the rooms, which was a pleasant surprise! All basic kitchen utensils provided (including tea, coffee, sugar, milk powder :-D ) with induction cook top. Very neat and well maintained. Clean towels, extra bed sheets and all required toiletries provided in the bathrooms. TV, fridge and washing machine also provided. Additional mattresses also available. Dedicated covered parking space available. Located near Panaji, so both North Goa and South Goa accessible. Totally value for money. Highly recommended. Sanjeev (Host) very helpful and proactive and attentive.

Nice place but the only minus point is that it is actually very far from the north goa beaches.

I booked the place for 3 nights, but we didn't manage staying any. The house itself is quite nice but it's in the middle of nowhere. House doesn't have wi-fi and the area itself has very poor cell phone reception which makes getting out of there a bit of a hassle. The property itself is not terribly misleadingly described, but I must admit the other reviews (strangely all in the month of Jan2017) are fairly misleading, which got me to book it in the first place.

Had a great time during our Stay. Extremely helpful host for (URL HIDDEN) Gonsalvez came to see us on very first day and spoke about our plans. Further whatever we required was arranged immediately without if's n but's....Safe place for family as well, which was most important for me. Caretaker Mr.Nelson was also very attentive and helpful ensuring comfortable stay of us

First of all its a great place to stay, its central location for tourists who plans to visit North Goa and South Goa. Well maintained big rooms, high speed Internet, AC, TV, good complementary breakfast, hot water, microwave oven, fridge, tea maker, etc in every room. Very friendly manager and owner who are available for anything at anytime. I am going to stay in the same place if I'm visiting goa again. :-)

The host was very kind and generous. He helped us out with everything without hesitation-travel and other needs. We were extremely humbled by the gesture. We would definitely want to come again.

My wife and I spent 8 nights here, we were welcome by Mr. Gonsalves and he suggested us many places for us to see. Mr. Nelson (manager) was also very helpful and available for any help. This place is kept very neat and clean, beds are very comfortable and safe. Enjoyed our stay, as this was our first trip to Goa.

Cruz is the most hospitable person in Goa. Hands down. He got us from the bus stop, got us scooters, helped us when things went south, and his place actually looks as good as the pictures you see. Also, it's quiet. You can chill and be at peace. AC in the room and living room, laundry in unit, and a kitchen. This is the best deal in town.

We had a great time here! Cruz was extremely helpful and assisted us with planning our days and booking us taxis! The apartment was clean and comfy, highly recommend this for anyone who wants to try their own Indian cooking. We hired a moped and bought food to cook from the local market. The beach is nearby and panjim just a short ride away. Highly recommend!

I have been frequenting Goa atleast once every year and never have I experienced a better stay. The owner Mr. Cruz was extremely helpful and apartment is super comfy. I would rate the place 10/10.

We stayed for 3 nights at this place, pretty close to panaji and hardly 2 kms from national highway. Apart from a few problems with the place the stay was great. Only problem I had was with the ants and a non-working lift, but I don't think Sanjeev could have done anything for both the problems. I guess the guard in the society used to close the lifts at night, the lift never worked whenever we boarded :)

The place is in a peaceful locality - located in Old Goa, it's away from the tourist hustle-bustle. Sanjeev's apartment is on the top floor with a good view of greenery and the city afar. It is modern looking, has all amenities and Sanjeev makes sure all basic necessities are provided. There's a small store to buy groceries and other essentials about a km or two away. Sanjeev is a very accommodating host! We had a couple of requests which he made sure to fulfill at the earliest. He was always available over phone and was present to check-us in though we arrived quite early. The only small issue we faced were a couple of ants in the kitchen (which we'd already read about so weren't caught off-guard). Make sure to stow your food away in the fridge and you shouldn't face any problems. We had a wonderfully pleasant stay and would love to visit Sanjeev's apartment again! :)

It was an awesome stay, everything was there. It is near to Panjm. The host Sanjeev is an exceptional person, who was waiting and calling us even before we reached goa. House is actually the same as it is in the photos. Excellent for families and couples. Felt like we are at home. Timings are flexible but intimate him while booking. Would recommend for all. Visit to feel the same.

From the time we took the keys till the time we handed them back; Sanjeev was always available for us. Whenever we had an enquiry or whenever we needed something Sanjeev responded immediately and arranged everything we needed. House is just like the way it is in the pictures. Infact, I liked it more when I reached the place. Everything was kept properly for us; towels, new soaps in both the bathroom, shampoo sachets for everyone, paper plates, paper cups etc. Kitchen was fully equipped and with an RO water purifier. There are no restaurants around the location but it’s 10-15 mins drive from Panaji city. There are super markets at 5 mins walk. I’d strongly recommend the place if you are looking to stay closer to Panaji.

Sanjeev is a great host. His apartment is awesome with stunning views of the backwaters from hall and second bedroom. He provided all the amenities within affordable price range. Being a person from US, I faced a bit difficulty with internet connectivity as there is no WiFi, but there is nothing to complain about it. We loved our stay there and would gladly recommend for others.

Leo is a great host, definitely place that would be worth staying if you like the quite back waters of Goa. This location is about 10-15 minutes away from the main city so you will need a scooter, bus transportation or arranged taxi service to the city. Lots to do in the city, Leo is well connected to the community and can help assist in making tourist arrangements. Definitely competitive tourist package arrangement options in the city as well. You will definitely be able to relax here and enjoy the scenery. Had Wi-Fi connectivity issues, so if you plan to work on laptop you will need an active hotspot.

A perfect homestay for rest and relaxation. As picturesque as the photos suggest if not more. Leo even picked me up from Panjim when i arrived and is more than happy to arrange local transportation whenever required. All in all a very pleasant experience indeed.

Great hosts. Jacqueline's cooking was like home meals. Leo was the perfect host. The 100+ years old sapota tree on campus was a Wow- factor for me. Leo's efforts to do up the property showed in the landscaping works in nooks and crannies of the outdoors.

Loved staying at serene waters! Leo and Jacqueline and the staff are all friendly and courteous... The room was average but everything else was perfect! They have dogs, chickens, ducks and birds...The resort is very environment friendly and the swimming pool by the river is the cherry on top. I have visited goa many times before but discovered the best place to stay just after visiting Leo's home stay. It's a mixture of the perfect location by the Mandovi river and an amazing family that welcomes you. Leo and his wife ensure you utmost comfort, cook you healthy local cuisine, arrange for your transport around goa and also give you front row access to Leo's dinner music shows at Goa's top restaurants. The place is perfect getaway for a relaxed weekend. The rooms are ultra clean and guest services are available round the clock. Serene Homestay is exactly what the name states and even more. The serenity of the place will seep into your soul and you will feel an instant calm. At the same time, the hospitality extended by Leo and his family make you feel very much at home. Leo and Jacqueline are sweethearts and amazing hosts. They go the extra mile to ensure you are comfortable and well taken care of. Unlike other resorts where would bother once you are checked-in, Leo and his family will interact with you regularly and pay attention to your needs. They are very helpful and also helped book local transportation. I also went for one of Leo’s shows and was totally enthralled. The property is next to river Mandovi but cut off from the hustle bustle of North Goa. Tucked in a place called Ribandar, it is easily accessible from Panjim. I didn’t believe Leo at first but once you are here you become lazy. You can spend an entire day at the riverside, even dine by the river watching an occasional bird dive in for fresh catch or laze in the mini infinity pool facing the riverside and be quick enough to spot an otter pop his head out (yes there are otters in the river). I guarantee this place just makes you forget all the hustling party spots of Goa and we barely wanted to leave the property. And if I haven’t bragged enough about the hospitality extended by Leo and his family or the beauty and tranquility of the place, I’ve yet to speak about the local cuisine served at Serene Homestay. It was lip smacking and Jacqueline I can’t compliment you enough on the food you cook. We didn’t want to eat out, we loved the food so much. The breakfast spread was also good. The place is idyllic and lives to its name. Serenity fills us as soon as we enter the riverfront. The hosts Leo and Jacqueline are warm and hospitable and always there to welcome you with a smile. Leo goes out of his way to ensure your stay is comfortable, rejuvenating and fun-filled. He presented us with multiple options tailored to our needs to make our vacation memorable. At the end of the day, We found it was advisable to follow his itinerary suggestions His band is amazing and those who love western music should make it a part of their itinerary. The food from Jacqueline's kitchen is finger-licking delicious. Amazing seafood and non-veg treats. We enjoyed just whiling away the day with a cocktail in hand and treating ourselves to the unending supply of nibbles to go with it. The view from the rooms is good, even though we hardly were in it. The outdoors and the riverfront, the lawn chairs and hammocks beckons us always. That is a beautiful bonding place. Leo arranged our travel requirements within Goa and we were happy with it. Even if the weather is hot outside, serene waters is cool and breezy always. A must stay place for everyone at least once, I would say

A really great place to stay, near the city centre with easy bus routes to panjim and old goa. Helpful host who is always avaliable to help, nice family also. Great food and atmosphere. Be careful of extra costs if you're on a shoestring budget like we were lunches, dinners and mini fridge items can add up however they are reasonably priced and tasty. Kind of our own fault for not asking how much they were.

Cruz was an excellent host. The rooms above his ancestral home are well-conceived although a little worn after 5 years of use. Our fellow guests in Cruz's neighboring apartments were noisy and that might be off-putting for others. Without internet, this location becomes dull because the town is not interesting and the nearest beach, Miramar is unattractive. However, if you need to be close to this part of Panjim, it is excellent.

Serene waters is like a home away from home. If you are looking for a quiet space to chill away from the busyness this is where you need to be. It's not too far from Panjim. I needed to be near Old Goa for some family functions and the location was good. The view of the river and mangroves are beautiful and truly serene. If you love nature and birds, you will enjoy the views. Leo and Jacqueline are very kind folks and will make sure you are at ease. They are great hosts and will help you in any way they can to make your stay comfortable. They truly represent the essence of real 'Goan' hospitality. This place is great to stay solo /family/ or like-minded friends who are looking for a place to chill.

The place is beautiful for couples and families with children. The place is beside a lake or river which makes it more appealing and scenic. Leo has arranged for swings and swimming pool which is beautiful. They are a great host and make delicious food.

Leo and Jaqueline were very accommodating hosts. Beautiful scenery with the lake, garden and the animals. Unfortunately lots of mosquitos and quite a remote location so difficult links to transport- nearest regular bus was 15-20 minute walk away. Nice clean rooms and responsive staff to any requests.

Leo was the best host, Very helpfull, had great fun, nice cozy place with grand heart.. had 3 day stay at Taj holiday village, it was nothing compared to Leo' s serene waters... If you ever go to Goa You have to stay at Leo's. Had great food too... We have developed a family relationship with Leo and his sweet family. Will Cherish memories of serene water for many years to come....

If you want to enjoy a calm and beautiful day or evening with a view - you should not look any further now. I was offered an upgrade by Leo at check-in and a complimentary ride from Panjim bus stand, because I ran out of cash due to a financial crisis in the country, which impacted a lot of people. He took an understanding approach to my troubles. Thanks once again! The room was with a window view by the river and it was THE room to die for. Could not have been happier. Painted in a light shade of green, an air conditioner, fan, coffee and tea at your disposal in the room, 24 hours hot water and a TV. It is better than the photos. Enjoy their typical Goain breakfast - doubt it can get any authentic than this. I enjoyed it! Did I forget to mention, have your dinner here as well? Go ahead! Leo & Jacqueline seem to learn and anticipate your needs even before you ask. Their conversations and acts created a sence of as if I was under the care of a family that I belong to. The serenity is brought to you by Leo & Jacqueline, with their magical touch of love and kindness complimented with the backdrop of the room and/or property view. Good place to stay with friends and family. Near to Panjim 4 kms. Manager Nelson is polite and helpful. Few issues like ants are there on bed. But boys responded and cleaned promptly when asked. Just a small thing, not a big issue. Its better to check with them which room has how many bed cots to avoid any confusion. Over all, its a very good stay. Hope to you see you again.

We really enjoyed staying here. Our kids loved this place. A very clean and well maintained place. Good place to stay if you want to visit Panjim, old Goa and the near by places. Property manager was very helpful. There is no stove available if you want to cook for yourself.

Leo 's place was beautiful. I wanted to cancel all my other work and just laze around at his place. Leo and Jaqueline are amazing hosts, very friendly, extremely helpful and very caring. Cute location and very accommodating hosts. Basic rooms. The pool is a treat! Loveliest housekeepers and staff. Hilarious pets. The hosts will sort everything out for you if you need but as Location is very isolated, we would recommend having your own transport. Only real downside for us was that the Wifi didn't work at all.

This is a beautiful place to stay, Leo and Jacquline are beyond super hosts ! The peace is awesome, the food is delicious and the beers are well chilled. We have enjoyed staying so much I almost want to keep it a secret. So if you enjoy great food, a peaceful location ( Panjim about 10 minutes away) the opportunity to meet fabulous interesting people then this is the place to stay. If you want local knowledge it's here, if you just want time to read a book this is the place, if you enjoy just looking at rivers and wildlife it's here. Apart from all this it's great value and extremely comfortable. We enjoyed it all, the hammock ! The pool and the charming puddle ducks ! Highly recommend .

Mr. Leo was pleased to be the first Chinese tenant, Mr. Leo hospitality makes me very happy, three-month trip to India, the home of Mr. Leo 3 nights really feel at home, the room facilities, lake scenery pleasant, very much like the boss do their own food, but also intimate prepared chopsticks for me. Staying with Leo and Jacqueline was lovely. My time was spent mostly in the communal area overlooking the river where guests get to mingle with each other and with the very hospitable hosts. They were extremely accommodating with my meal times as well. I felt like I was visiting family. Leo was also very knowledgeable about his town and was eager to point you in the right direction.
