Beautiful lush green landscapes that drop dramatically down to the river. This is ancient Ireland at its best. Slane is a well-known village in Ireland. Thanks to the rock concerts at Slane Castle and now the new whiskey distillery, Slane now has a vibrant food and music culture with restaurants, cafes and bistros as well as great live music pubs. Be sure to book in on a Wednesday night to see the Wednesday Gang open session in Boyle's of Slane and don't forget to book a tour around the new Slane Distillery. We are also only 6km from the UNESCO World Heritage megalithics tombs at Bru Na Boinne (Newgrange) and only 8km from the Battle of the Boyne centre. We also offer kayaking, recreational tree climbing and bike hire to keep you busy while you're here.
  • Just want to echo what all the other reviewers are saying, this place is really awesome. If you do stay here, definitely check out the communal area (kitchen, dining, lounge). It's a really nice place to chill out. Loved meeting all the farm animals too.

  • Amazing place, great for weekend getaway but still close to Slane town center with local pubs and restaurants :)

    Sara2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • The farm is really lovely. The hosts have made great use of the space. The room was nice and cosy and the communal areas and hot tub made our stay extra special. Within walking distance of the village.

  • Had a pleasant week long stay here with a baby and dog. The Swallow's Nest was very spacious, with room to spare even with a travel cot and large crate. Directions and self check-in was very straightforward. We had fresh eggs from the farm in the morning - very tasty - and met the Dexters and pigs on our walk around. Good information available for things to do in the area although I was mostly visiting family anyway. Would stay again!

  • Really nice place very scenic and rustic, would definitely recommend to anyone looking for a break from society, Slane is a really nice place with a lot of nice shops and restaurants.

  • Swallows nest was lovely and cosy even in December! All the facilities are also excellent. Communication was great and everyone at rock farm was very lovely and helpful. Thank you!

    Bridget2019-12-20T00:00:00Z
  • Fantastic and magical place! The Swallow’s Nest was perfect. Cozy and warm and situated with a great view of the farm. The team of folks supporting the farm were super helpful, too. This is a must-stay place if you’re planning on spending time in the area!

    Peter2019-12-19T00:00:00Z
  • We had a pleasant stay. The farm is located in a very beautiful valley. The farm offers a lot of equipment to choose from. Regarding our room the decoration is really charming, the bed is very good, so much so that you forget to get up. The products from the farm are exquisite. The team is on top, very responsive. Thank you everyone. There are plenty of unusual places to discover in this valley. We will gladly come back.

  • Absolute delight to stay here in this gem of a place!! It was such a relaxed environment, you have your privacy but if you fancy a chat there’s always someone about for that too! The host family that lived in the house next door were incredibly generous and accommodating. Someone would often pop in to make sure we had enough fire wood or if you’re lucky even bring around some fresh scones straight from the oven. You really do get a fork to table experience here, you can help yourself to salad and vegetables from the garden and the eggs from the chickens also on site - which you can then enjoy on your homemade Irish bread! Everything was very clean, plenty of towels and extra blankets if you need. It’s quite an old house which I found fascinating so take some time to appreciate the quirks and almost vintage feel to it. You can tell a lot of love has gone into this place and there is plenty going on. It is well worth the stay. To the Rooney family thank-you so much for making me feel so at home! I really hope to come back soon ☺️

  • It’s such a lovely place to stay, like a home from home. So close to all the sacred sites. I was very content to take a break from city life and be in the comfy surrounds of the farm.

    Fredereka2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • This place is handsome ! I’ve met lot of people from everywhere in the world, lot of diferent culture , organic vegetables , everything in this place is lovely , just have to go here and you will see ...

  • Quiet and charming place with very nice people. Bridget is an interesting person. You should ask her about her opinion on medicine and food. I would recommend this place.

  • Had a nice stay . Plenty of fresh vegetables from huge garden

    Peter2019-08-12T00:00:00Z
  • Siobhan's place is like a hidden gem in the countryside. Just an hour from Dublin city you will find yourself totally immersed in mother nature - organic vegetable farm, beautiful green scenery and surrounded by animals. I booked a massage from Siobhan at very last minute and she was so accommodating. The massage was definitely a highlight, I felt totally being looked after - physically as well as spiritually. Then, Siobhan's mom walked me through their organic farm where there is so much variety of vegetables and herbs, you name it they have it. You will get to eat whatever is in season - without any nasty pesticides! The room itself is sparkling clean, the kitchen is a communal area where you get to interact with different guests from different places. Lastly, if these wouldn't convince you to have a stay, I don't know what will.

    Mable2019-08-05T00:00:00Z
  • I can highly recommend this place! Siobhan and her family are very kind and lovely people. They were extremely helpful and really made me feel at home. Their place is quietly located, in a beautiful area surrounded by nature. It's the ideal spot to just kick back, relax and enjoy the amazing scenery. I will definitely return again in the future!

  • Small cozy cottage, arrival and departure independently. Very discreet hosts. Only one small flat: the heating could have been turned on at the beginning of the morning so that we are not cold. It must have been 9 degrees when we arrived and the temperature was only good late in the evening.

  • A nice spot for overnighting before an early morning flight

    Clive2019-12-21T00:00:00Z

  • Charming little outbuilding 30 minutes from the center of Dublin. There is a bus 5 minutes walk from the house which brings us to the center. Claudia and Dany were very welcoming. I recommend

    Thibault2020-03-15T00:00:00Z
  • Claudia and Dany’s place was so cool! It was private, squeaky clean, had everything we needed, and felt like home. The location is also prime because it’s so close to the city - literally minutes away. I guarantee anyone visiting Dublin will be very pleased to stay here. I’ll definitely be coming back!

    Mario2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a pleasant stay in their apartment. It is completely independent and well equipped. Claudia and Dany are very helpful and have adapted for the hours. They did not miss any little touches.

    Stéphanie2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Lovely apartment on a nice place, not really far from the city. Very happy with this visit! Recommend.

    Simona2020-02-25T00:00:00Z
  • Perfect formed little studio for 2. Cooking facilities were great for small meals and snacks. The weather was cold and wet during our stay but we were lovely and warm inside. Location was great for us. We didn't want to be in the busy centre. Nearby there is a supermarket and some take away options and a bus service that takes you into Dublin centre in approx 25 minutes. The best part was Claudia and Dany's hospitality! We could not fault it. Quick responses and they really made us feel welcome.

    Emma2020-02-22T00:00:00Z
  • Claudia & Dany were brilliant hosts and made us feel really welcome. The place is really nicely done out and suited us perfectly for two nights. It was spotlessly clean and everything was as it was advertised. Claudia also came and picked us up from the airport which was a great help and was also really quick at responding to any questions. Would definitely recommend!

    Alexander2020-02-10T00:00:00Z
  • Claudia and Dany were friendly hosts and helped us on our stay. The apartment was clean and had everything we needed.

    Kam2020-02-08T00:00:00Z
  • My partner and I really enjoyed the stay at Claudia’s and Dany‘s place. The place was even better than in the pictures. The place is well connected to public transport - it takes about 20 minutes to get to the city center by bus. I would highly recommend this place!

Rathgillen Lodge is renovated stone cottage from the 1800's. With plenty of character, the living/kitchen has a wood burning stove set into a big hearth. There is a fully fitted kitchen , double bedroom and pull out sofa-bed.
Rathgillen Lodge is situated on a 125-acre working farm and enjoys beautiful views of the countryside. The location is quiet and peaceful and yet is only 1 km from the pretty village of Nobber and 1-hour drive from Dublin and 1 hour from Belfast. Meath is an area of legend of folklore, Vikings & Normans, castles and crosses and lots of monastic ruins to visit. It is also an area for great fishing, beautiful sandy beaches, horse riding and golf. Shops, pubs and restaurants are located nearby. We are situated 10 km from Cabra Castle Hotel and 16 km from Navan Town. The renovated stone cottage has lots of character and has oil central heating , solar panels and a woodburning stove. The accommodation sleeps 2 in the main bedroom with a pull out sofa-bed in the living area offering room for a further 2 people. It is suitable for all needs with wide doors and a wet room bathroom.
The cottage is situated 1 km from Nobber Village
  • This place was fantastic. It was a perfect size for us and the stove made us feel right at home, Peter provided us with plenty of wood for the fire also! Location was much better than we were expecting, just a mile outside the village and there was a few walkways we were able to take around and near the house. Peter and his wife were great hosts, really down to earth people and always stopped to chat to us if we met them, and their two dogs were very friendly as well! Would 100% recommend this place, we ended up staying longer than planned because we liked it so much!

    Daragh2020-03-31T00:00:00Z
  • Peter is wonderful. If you want a taste of Irish culture (meaning the sort of setting folks traditionally lived in and to meet an awesome local in a rural area), this is a great way to do it. He has put a lot of time and money into shaping up the place so you’ll hardly realize it’s an old cottage from the inside. He loves to share what he knows and he will give his perspective on things as well if you ask! Bakes scones and preps a cuppa when you check in. Friendly dogs on the farm. It’s just up the road from Nobber with a sign when you reach the farm, and he was walking out once we arrived. He also offered boots so we could walk about the farm after encountering him on one of his morning walks. Keogan’s was a good way at night to grab a drink in town and meet locals. Anyway, get off the beaten path and give Peter’s a try! He’s really awesome and I hope he does well in his little business and farm.

    Kayla2020-03-13T00:00:00Z
  • We had a lovely stay at this roomy historic cottage! The tour of the farm and up to the ringfort was priceless.

    Michael2020-03-03T00:00:00Z
  • Peter welcomed us warmly with a cup of tea. The lodge was perfectly fitted for our trip. I can definitely recommend a stay.

    Roman2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • Beautiful quiet environment in a traditional house. Very good access to Dublin. Cleanly, quietly, everything available what you need. There was a milk and cake welcome and finally a trip to the farm quad. Thank you very much.

    Mariana2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • The stay with Peter was wonderful. We can only join the previous speakers, how warmly we were greeted with pastries and tea (although we only arrived at 11 p.m.), with such dedication and passionate care as he takes care of his guests is just great. A car is definitely needed. The price / performance ratio fits. Some excursions can be made from the accommodation: Newgrade, Belfast, Dublin, Mellifont Abby, Slanecastle. For shopping, we mostly drove to Lidl, 15 minutes away. We will come back in any case.

    Victoria2020-02-09T00:00:00Z
  • A great little getaway spot just a couple minutes outside the village of Nobber, we had a great time here. The lodge was clean and homely, with a lovely warm fire. Peter was extremely welcoming and we had a great chat upon arrival, with added scones! Would absolutely return in future.

  • We had a wonderful stay. Peter was very kind and accommodating and even offered me a HSE discount. Beautiful location and scenery. Only downside was the lack of WiFi and poor network service (Eir) for myself but my partner is with Vodafone and had minimal issues. Would love to stay again!

  • Best mini Air BnB break away so far This converted container exceeds all your expectations with all the modern fittings and appliances to offer plus the beautiful peaceful fresh countryside. Quiet, clean and the stove makes for a warm cozy night in. I would definitely recommend and will use again in the future. Thank you Peter

  • Peter's place was the perfect place to stay while needing to self-isolate during the COVID-19 crisis. Self check in was very easy. The space was very modern and clean, and had everything I needed. The stove had the place warm and toasty within minutes. There is a lovely decking area outside which would be lovely to sit in the milder weather and get fresh air. Peter was very helpful and quick to respond to any queries. Highly recommend.

This is recent modern Barn conversion. (Jan 2015) It contains one large kitchen/dining/lounge area, one double bedroom with en suite facilities. June 2017 added second Living Space area with view of farm and wood, Lobby area with Laundry facilities and a second bathroom. Please note the Grounds and external outdoor perimeter of The Barn is protected by CCTV TK Alarm Company.
The Dream Barn offers old style Irish living with modern luxuries. It is located in the Village. Dublin is 50 minutes drive away on the M3 motorway. Belfast is under two hours away. Kells our local Town is five minutes away. Moynalty won the Tidiest Village Award in Ireland in 2013. Moynalty offers one local pub ( McCormacks) , a Post Office with AIB Banking services, Church, coffee shop, Beauty Store, Hair Salon, two local shops, McNallys Pharamacy and a garage service station, tennis courts, fishing rivers. Loughcrew Megalithic Cairns, Hill of Tara, Newgrange, Lloyd Tower (inland Lighthouse) and Girley Eco Bog are some of the local places to visit. Also equestrian facilities and Golf courses are adjacent. Apart from Kells, Oldcastle and Virgina are interesting towns to explore. I am very animal friendly.... dog, cats and hens live here (cows in adjacent field) also lots of wildlife! (squirrels, badgers, hedgehogs, foxes, birdlife) If your pet is sociably minded he/she is welcome to join the farm. Your dog needs to be cat friendly to get along here! The Borora River runs not far from my home on the opposite side. Also there is a large park (Threshing Field) with an outdoor gym and Agricultural Museum. The two local Newsagent and Grocery Stores , Hair Salon, Beauty Salon and Garage and one fine Irish pub and Post Office and Church are all minutes from my home.
The loveliest aspect to living in Moynalty is the friendly people who are so proud of their Village. The old Village was erected in 1860 and you will see how beautifully maintained these homes are. There is a beautiful park in the village which is also home to a local museum.
  • Absolutely brilliant hosts. Went well beyond expectations and raised the bar. Would highly recommend to everyone.

  • One of the most homeliness places I have ever stayed at, and to meet Jim and his partner was the best part of the experience. The spirit of the small town was overwhelmingly friendly and made me felt like it was "home" for my short stay. Definitely pet-friendly which was a plus!

    Lucy2020-03-21T00:00:00Z
  • Jim's superb facilities must surely be unequalled anywhere on airbnb- all angles are covered in the quest to provide a cosy home from home for his guests. He is the most humane and discreet of hosts. Book with confidence- you will not be disappointed.

    Chris2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • Jim was a great host and made us feel very welcomed into the lovely cottage. Very warm interior with plenty of kitchenware to cook, a nice fireplace and a great view on the country side.

    Julia2020-03-01T00:00:00Z
  • Jim's place is amazing! Very quirky and you can spend hours here looking at everything that Jim has put into the home. It's like a curiosity shop! It's so peaceful and tranquil here and we enjoyed our time. Jim has overlooked nothing there is every cooking utensil required the extra touches was great! Jim is very welcoming, he is around if needed but unobtrusive. We brought our mini yorkshire terrier with us and she loved it here. We enjoyed the fresh hen eggs too. Would recommend Jim's home and we will be back Thank you Jim for a great weekend and some well deserved R&R Margaret

  • Fantastic quirky little retreat in a beautiful part of the world, very close to Dublin and close to the amazing historical sites such as Newgrange and Loughcrew Cairns. Amazing attention to detail in the barn and a very comfortable spot, I would recomend this place to anyone. Jim and Susan were both very welcoming and friendly.

    Emmet2020-02-02T00:00:00Z

The house is located in Boyerstown .It is small neighbourhood nice and quite country location, at the same time it is just a five minute drive from the local town of Navan, where you can get everything you need.
  • Great AirBNB. The host was quick with responses, the house was amazing and about a 5 minute drive to Navan city. We really enjoyed our stay. The only thing I didn't like was that you had to pay an additional fee per person. So a couple had to pay more than a single person. Which didn't make too much sense to me.... but it was a great stay. Would stay again!

Ideal for a couple. My self contained and compact annex to my country cottage has own entrance, double bedroom. king size bed, TV, en suite shower, small kitchenette with microwave, kettle and toaster .Your own transport is essential to stay at my place. Close to Meath's historic sights. Tara 10 mins Newgrange 15 mins. Local wedding venues, Ballymagarvey (6 mins), Slane Castle, The Mill House and Tankardstown (10 to 15 mins) Dublin Airport 35 minutes, and Dublin City centre 45 minutes.
The annex is attached to my peaceful country cottage which is set in a pretty garden on a quiet laneway. Over the years my cottage has been popular with guests attending local wedding venues, Ballymagarvey, The Mill House, Tankardstown and Bellinter House. All around 10 minutes away. I have also enjoyed hosting tourists from all over the world who come to see Meath's many historic sites and beautiful countryside.. Only 45 minutes from Dublin city centre and 35 minutes from Dublin airport. The cottage annex also has it's own private area of the garden. It is the perfect size for a couple.
I love my country cottage and garden. I also love that it is only 10 minutes from Tara and 15 from Newgrange. Slane and it's many interesting places including the wonderful new Whiskey distillery is less than 10 minutes away, and the nearest large town of Navan is 10 minutes. It is a peaceful retreat but Dublin airport is only 35 minutes away!.
  • Fiona’s cabin tucked away, allowing for quiet and peaceful stay for two nights. The bed was soft and comfy, and the whole cabin we perfectly cozy.

  • Exactly what we needed and so prompt with responses. Most comfortable sheets I've ever slept in and an extra heater in the room incase it got cold. Tea and coffee in the kitchenette and there was even milk left in the fridge for us. Nice peaceful location with parking.

  • Lovely place with very friendly and helpful hosts.

    Marcus2020-02-17T00:00:00Z
  • Thank you for kindness and considerate. Fresh air and nice home. Prepared bread to take and milk. Kitchen is small but enough. Nice stay

  • Fiona's place is a lovely bolt hole surrounded by a garden. It is in a rural setting yet so close to Slane, Navan and only 40 minutes to Dublin. It is spotless and has a super comfy bed for a restful night's sleep. We visited for a wedding and Fiona could not have been more helpful in making sure we enjoyed our stay with local recommendations of places to visit and to eat. I would not hesitate in recommending Fiona's place.

    Anita2019-12-29T00:00:00Z
  • Wow! Fiona sets the highest standard that other hosts should endeavor to meet. My 19 year old daughter traveled alone to Ireland for an equestrian competition and stayed at Fiona’s adorable cottage for the weekend. Fiona went above and beyond as her host...offering her rides to the barn when she was unable to secure early morning taxis and bringing her homemade soup on her arrival on a chilly day. Perfect accommodation and unsurpassed hospitality and kindness. Thank you, Fiona, for everything!

Nice location, very quiet and yet very close to some really nice attractions such as newgrange, mellifont Abbey, and others which I didn't get to. Very close to Drogheda town and yet it feels like you're in rural Ireland. The suite itself was very nicely laid out and spotlessly clean. There's also lots of books and a lovely couch to relax on. Victoria Drummond Tower was built as a Folly Tower in the victorian period in 1858 by Victor Drummond Delap as part of Monasterboice House & Demesne. The tower is regarded as a folly tower built in remembrance of his late mother Victoria Drummond Delap. Recently restored into a small habitable dwelling and is now available for rental for selected months of the year. A very unique and enjoyable place to stay with a vast range of local & historical amenities at your disposal.
Drummond Tower comprises of 4no. floors including a top roof level which guests can enjoy extensive views of the surrounding countryside. The ground floor comprises of a kitchen area with cooking and washing facilities. On the first floor there is a comfortable living room with adequate space to relax and watch TV or read books form the extensive book collection. There are 2no. couches with 1no. being a comfortable double sofa bed. The second floor bedroom is the last of the internal floors which comprises of a queen sized bed with en-suite, shower and washing facilities. One of the great advantages is waking up in the mornings and looking out over the tree tops and the immediate countryside. The top floor level is the external castellated roof terrace. There is 360 degree views of the area and space to enjoy the fine weather. The roof terrace is illuminated so one can access the area during at night to look at the stars
Drummond Tower is situated in the countryside on the Boyne Valley Drive - R168. 5 mins from Monasterboice Round Tower & Melifont Abbey. Newgrange, Dowth, Oldbridge (Battle of the Boyne) and Slane / Collon Village is within 15mins drive. Drogheda is located nearby with shopping, Restaurants and Bars. We would recommend Monasterboice Inn (5 mins drive) with selection of fine food & beverages. Also check out "No. Three" in the local Village of Collon which would be approx 3 miles or visit the lovely village of Slane and have a pint on Boyles Pub
  • Amazing building and location. Host was very responsive and a great communicator. This was a wonderful short break and just what we needed. Would love to come back again.

  • A unique and fabulous place that's been beautifully restored.

    Emma2020-03-27T00:00:00Z
  • What a magical stay! This tower is everything you see in the photographs and more. From the moment we pulled up we were taken aback by the beauty of the tower both inside and out. The surroundings give you that element of privacy that you want. As the tower is old stone it does require a lot of heating but the system that Eánán has installed will have the rooms toasty in no time. The cooking facilities are very good. When taking a shower be sure to have a boost on the hot water as it can go quite quickly if not. We strolled around the Battle of the Boyne field several times, I would highly recommend this beautiful attraction taking in both the historical value and the surrounding landscape. The tower has great wifi but offers you a great opportunity to open a book with a glass of wine and settle into the magical environment that surrounds you. We would highly recommend Drummond Tower and we cannot wait for our next visit. Leanne and Elaine.

  • Don't book this place. I want to make sure there are no conflicts with my future stays. This was the definition of a dream stay for us. Absolutely everything we wanted in a country castle tower. We will be back as soon as we can!

  • We greatly enjoyed our stay at Drummond Tower. It’s a unique place that is very clean. We used it as our base for exploring the many historic places in the area. Many sites and several towns are within an easy 20 minute drive. I highly recommend staying at Drummond Tower as the price is untreatable for what you get.

  • We had a beautiful time in the cottage. Mark is a great host and we think that we'll come again. Thanks a lot!

    Esther2019-09-14T00:00:00Z
  • Wish we had given ourselves more time to explore the area around this cute cottage stay. The cottage itself was tricky to find in the dark but Mark's instructions were invaluable and he always responded really quickly! Nice touches like milk, bread and eggs very much appreciated. Suggest taking some DVDs if you like a quiet night in, on the cosy sofas with the electric fire on as TV signal intermittent (no fault of the host of course!) Hot tub really enjoyable and Mark quick to come pop it on for us.

  • We stayed at Glebe cottage for 3 nights. Mark's attention to detail via message before our arrival provided the information we needed for a hassle free check-in. On arrival, milk, bread and eggs were left for us which was a pleasant surprise. The cottage had everything we needed and we couldn't have asked for a more peaceful and laid back stay. The hot tub was our main reason for booking Glebe cottage and it did not disappoint. Thank-you Mark and family, we will definitely be back!

  • Sheena's cottage was a lovely space for us to relax on our own with the escalating health crisis when we were in the area for a friend's wedding. We had heard of people getting their reservations and hotels cancelled, but Sheena kept the reservation and maintained her distance as a precaution. She had such nice touches like giving us essentials like milk, tea, butter, bread, biscuits, orange juice. We did have a toddler with us, so we couldn't take advantage of the lovely wood stove, and generally had to block it with a chair so he didn't play with it or bump it.

Pine is one of our sweet Shepherd Huts. It has been traditionally designed and has a beautifully crafted interior. Boasting a kingsize bed it creates a cosy and romantic space perfect for two people or couple sharing.
This is a beautifully crafted Shepherd's Hut (wagon on wheels used by shepherds and railway signalmen in times gone by). Pine has its own small but highly efficient stove with a continual supply of eco-firelighters, kindling and firewood to keep you super cosy. We will help you light your fires and keep you warm with plenty of wood during your stay. Pine is located on our secluded woodland hideaway Glamping area with its own communal facilities (kitchen, showers, toilets and seating areas). In Winter Pine is moved to a more sheltered location by the main Glamping facilities and shares the whole Glamping field overlooking Slane Castle with just one other shepherd's hut Apple. This Glamping area also has a BBQ, wood-fired hot tub and clay pizza oven. So don't forget to order our self-catering pizza packs and BBQ meat packs with ingredients from our organic farm.
Slane is one of the best known heritage villages in Ireland.
  • Beautiful scenery and great hospitality. A very welcoming and cozy place, would definitely recommend :)

    Holly2020-02-29T00:00:00Z
  • This was my second time staying at Rock Farm and I already can't wait for the next time. The weather was incredibly cold but it's hard to believe that the hut is a snug as it is inside. Apart from the fires, there are electric heaters and hot water bottles, if you're visiting in the winter. We spent lots of time in the communal living area. Unfortunately one of us was ill for the whole stay so we couldn't do much but it was actually lovely to stay warm and read and recuperate. Niamh very kindly dropped us into town, knowing that one of us was unwell, to save us a blustery walk. Definitely recommend a trip to the distillery and castle and nearby restaurant Inside Out, which was delicious. Don't forget your wellies and your books and enough wine and you'll have a beautiful stay! Thanks so much again Carina, Niamh, Rachel et al! x

    Catherine2020-01-29T00:00:00Z
  • Our stay at Rock Farm Slane was wonderful and so much better than we ever could have expected. The hut itself is lovely – very cozy and way bigger than it appears in the photos (one of us is 6'3"). The campsite is also amazing, with everything you could possibility need within a few metres. We ordered both the breakfast and pizza packs, which saved us time and hassle of going shopping before arriving. The food provided was super fresh and we were pleasantly surprised with the portion sizes. We especially loved the hot tub, the pizza oven, and having the ability to walk around the farm to visit the animals. The location is fantastic, as well – only a five minute drive to Slane Castle and the Distillery. We highly recommend staying here if you can. We're already planning a trip back in summer :)

  • This place is actually the most perfect place is so relaxing with all the animals around pheasants grouse and squirrels the hot tub in the trees with the fairy lights over it and candles everything was so beautiful the walk is so relaxing and the view of the castle is lovely this place really exceeded all my expectations and I can't wait to come back again ❤️❤️

  • Bridget and her daughter Siobhan were sweet and accommodating hosts! Bridget takes care of all the daily chores and Siobhan does the internet and bookings. Fresh homemade soda bread was available for morning breakfast along with eggs , butter and .Organically grown onions and Garlic . In the summer, a long term guest tolk me that the organic home grown vegetables are amazing . The homemade Irish stew Bridget made for another guest smelled amazing. Only €5 for a huge portion. The olace was Tidy and clean. Will definitely come back!

  • I had such a wonderful and restorative time at castletown Moor. I only stayed for 2 days but could have easily stayed on for a couple of weeks. Siobhan and Bridget were very friendly and welcoming. The accommodation was really cosy and felt like a home away from home. Thanks also to Siobhan for a beautiful healing session. I fully recommend staying here. Amazing value for money too. :)

  • I would like to say thanks to everyone at the farm who made my stay a memorable experience, if you want to use the facilities you can, eggs, bread tea and coffee is provided. If you are like me, I dont like to cook when on holiday, you can take a nice stroll up to the Staholmog service station (Histy), who will serve you a full Irish breakfast (Yum), sandwiches, wraps, cakes with tea of coffee, what ever you want. The farm is ideally placed so you can visit Carlanstown, Kells, Navan, Trim, The Hill of Tara to name but a few. I wouldn't hesitate to go back and soak in the Irish hospitality.

  • I had a wonderful experience at Siobhan's place. The single room I was staying in was far bigger than most double sized rooms. There were features to the property and reminded me of fond memories I had from my childhood visiting my grand parents and extended family in the country. The family and the person were all so friendly and it was a pleasure staying there. Perfect escape from the chaotic city life. Will definitely go back. There are a few projects being work upon which will definitely make the place even more enjoyable.

  • This is a charming property. We quite enjoyed our two night stay, and will return visit if we get the opportunity!

  • We enjoyed our stay with Tom and Vivian. The mews they have converted into an AirBnB is very nice and quiet with 2 bedrooms with good beds, a full kitchen and a sitting room with tv. My travelmate was a bit cold in the twin room in early March, but I found my room very comfortable. The heat has been programmed for efficiency but Tom adjusted it on request. The parking is easy, a mile from the nearest pub and store which is not especially walkable with parts of the road quite narrow. Tom’s gardens are exquisite and we were granted a guided tour. Vivian is a lovely hostess generous with extras. No wifi in the mews but we were welcomed into their home across the courtyard to use when needed. Sweet dogs and cat.

  • Very pretty property. Very handy for Clonabreany House weddings (Bees Knees hair salon in Kells did amazing upstyles for me and 5 year old daughter). The bed in the main bedroom is so comfortable. Amazing. The kids had two lovely single beds and I believe there is a pull out bed also if you need it. Takeaway in the nearby village. Once we got the fire going it was cosy in the sitting room. The rads in the bedrooms kept the bedrooms nice and warm and there are also two portable heaters if you're still cold. Big box of toys, greatly appreciated when you're travelling with kids. WiFi excellent. Great spot, was only sorry that we only had one night there. Oh, and the brown bread and jam was absolutely delicious! Hosts really friendly and very quick to respond. Thanks Bairbre and Rybal.

  • Great facility and very convenient to the main road network. I had a very enjoyable stay in a spotlessly clean and comfortable home in a quiet location yet close to shops and local amenities.

  • Jolanta si perfect Host, kind woman, able to help with everything what is needed. • Jolanta was a delightful host. Her place was warm, welcoming, quiet and spotless. and just up the road from a lively pub restaurant with good food and atmosphere. She was there when we arrived and check in was easy. We all had a very nice chat and then we headed out to meet family in the city. Before our stay we had a small problem with our trip and Jolanta was able to find a very easy solution and went out of her way to help us sort it out. I'd highly recommend staying with her when visiting the area. Liam & Mo

  • Great amenities, very spacious and clean and surprisingly convenient for visiting Dublin (only a two minute walk to the bus stop).

    Joe2019-12-04T00:00:00Z
  • Jolanta’s place is as shown in the photos. She is a warm, caring, wonderful lady who goes out of her way to ensure her guests are well looked after and feel at ease. Her home is as neat as a pin and the bed is comfortable. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it to others.

A Romantic Retreat -Tastefully converted stone barn with views of 13th C. Abbey ruins & mature garden. Ideal location for touring east coast and Dublin (Airport 30min). Mezzanine bedroom overlooking the open plan living area & wood burning stove.
This barn was converted by the owner in 2008 into a comfortable and inviting open plan living area & kitchen with a mezzanine double bedroom. Exposed stone walls and oak beams are complemented by luxurious furnishings and a cosy wood burning stove. The kitchen / dining area is equipped with gas hob, 3 in 1 Microwave / grill / convection oven, fridge with ice box and is sufficiently well-equipped to please the keen cook. There is a wet room-style shower room and wc. The living area is snug and cosy with a comfortable couch, wood burning stove and an array of interesting and unusual books on the history, flora and fauna of Ireland. A small staircase leads up to the mezzanine bedroom with comfy double bed, clothes storage and excellent views across the garden and countryside beyond. This is a really romantic location - so much so that we have had more than ten honeymooning couples stay here and even two proposals (successful ones!) The accommodation is suitable for up to two adults. Babies are welcome but please note that the barn is not suitable for toddlers or small children due to the steep staircase and wood burning stove. We have been welcoming guests since 2008.
Ardcath is a tiny, quiet village in County Meath, near the border to County Dublin. The village pub is a three minute walk away and is full of character. It hosts an informal traditional Irish music session every Thursday night and guests are welcome, even encouraged, to play or sing. The musicians will even provide you with a musical instrument! Convenience stores are a 5 minute drive. A selection of restaurants in nearby villages - Kilmoon (4 miles), Stamullen (5 miles), Duleek (4 miles) - and in the local large town of Drogheda (10 miles) provide a wide range of menus to suit all tastes. This is an excellent location for touring both Dublin city (50mins drive) and the east coast. The Boyne Valley, Newgrange heritage site and the Hill of Tara are within 20mins drive, as are the beaches of Bettystown and Gormanston. Enjoy any one of a dozen excellent golf courses within 20 miles, as well as horse racing at nearby Bellewstown, Fairyhouse or on the strand at Laytown. Our guests have enjoyed day trips to Wicklow (the Garden of Ireland), the Giants Causeway in Co. Antrim, Carlingford in Co. Louth. Check out hill walking in the Cooley Mountains and exploring the castle ruins in the heritage town of Trim, among many others. Excellent restaurants, cafes and shopping are available in medieval Drogheda, modern Ashbourne, Skerries and Bettystown which are all a 20 min car journey.
  • If you're looking for a unique and cozy spot in the countryside of Ireland, book this cottage now. It's about a half-hour outside of Dublin and was close to the train station. The cottage was adorable and had everything from a sewing kit to extra USB outlet adapters to slippers. We visited Ireland in the colder months, but the woodburning heater and extra space heater kept us very warm. Colm was a fantastic host and even had the fire going when we arrived at the cottage. Bennets Bar was right across the street and everyone there was just as gracious as Colm. If I ever visit Ireland again, I would definitely stay at Colm's place.

    Natalie2020-03-06T00:00:00Z
  • This is a truly unique location. It is very much in Ireland’s countryside which gives a great feeling. The cottage itself was very well kept and well stocked with everything you’ll need for a stay. If staying in the colder months do be prepared to lite the fire to warm the place up when you return to the cottage. There is really no other heat source. Again, this is something I felt very unique. The Ireland countryside roads can be a challenge if you come from North America. Just be prepared before you rent a car and take to the roads. Being in the countryside you will need to travel down some dark, small winding roads! I would highly recommend for a couple looking for a more romantic and quiet getaway!

    Shane2020-02-13T00:00:00Z
  • Colm is a gentleman. He has created a very unique oasis in this cosy cottage, with everything you could possibly need. We spent 4 chilled out days here and explored the surrounding countryside including newgrange. We'd highly recommend for a romantic getaway!

    Dorothy2020-02-01T00:00:00Z
  • My husband and I just checked out of Colm’s place today, and we’re sad to go! The pace itself is unbelievably charming, with everything you need. The bed is comfortable and the water is always hot! (Helpful when you’re a Floridian and visiting this time of year) It is close enough to drive into the city center, but also get a feel for the Irish countryside. The cottage itself is about a 30 second walk to a pub, what’s better than that! The pub has great Guinness and a lot of welcoming faces. Our absolute favorite part of our stay was Colm himself. He welcomed us with great hospitality. We learned a lot from him during our stay and even shared a few pints! I would recommend this Airbnb to everyone coming to the area. Dublin curry is great, but this is Ireland! We hope to return in the future!

    Mel2019-12-30T00:00:00Z
  • Stop searching, this is the cutest Airbnb in the world. Loved every minute of our stay over Christmas. The perfect hideaway from the world!

    Caitlin2019-12-26T00:00:00Z
  • Crows’ Hermitage was fantastic! Colm was very friendly and always quick to help. Trad night at Bennett’s pub was a great time and a fun surprise when Colm joined in! Ardcath is a perfect home base for exploring many cultural sites of Ireland, including many castles! Though the kitchen is small, the basics are covered. We whole heartedly recommend this spot for anyone looking for a unique Ireland experience!

    Sean2019-12-18T00:00:00Z
  • Great location, remote but with the added bonus of a pub a stones throw away. Sunday was a proper treat at the pub with a folk ‘jam night’. Loved the log burner, such a quirky place.

    Lisa2019-12-09T00:00:00Z
  • Colm is an amazing host, so friendly and warm. He even joined us for a beer at the pub across the street. Lovely visit.

Two bedrooms all with private bathrooms., washroom and cosy rustic country kitchen. Restaurants and shops all on your door step. It is clean, warm, romantic and cosy. You will have full access to your own kitchen and laundry.
Access to the rooftop, Drawing room, kitchen and washroom.
The wonderful part is we are a castle in the centre of a very happy busy little town with plenty of restaurants, shops and any last minute shopping you might need.
  • Everyone should stay in a castle atleast once. We only had the chance to stay one night, but we really enjoyed it. The place was a bit chilly on the main floor but the upstairs were heated appropriately. I would definitely stay here again. Nikki was very pleasant and great at suggesting things to do in the area. Do yourself a favor, Check Out “Brian Muldoon & Sons”. The Steaks are amazing. It’s within walking distance from the castle.

    Kevin2020-03-16T00:00:00Z
  • Hatch’s Castle was excellent. The rooms were lavishly decorated and very comfortable. You shouldn’t pass up the opportunity to stay in a a genuine castle.

  • What a unique place to stay! A great location in the centre of Ardee, easy to check in and it was cosy and warm. Would definitely recommend!

    Paula2019-12-01T00:00:00Z
  • Quirky and fun! Perhaps not a true castle but having features of one. Had a blast exploring it top to bottom. Very comfortable and lots of room.

    Deborah2019-10-31T00:00:00Z
  • The castle is awesome and Nikki has done a fabulous job turning it into a space that can be shared with others, which is great. There are 3 rooms in the castle and you can’t lock your room door when you leave, which is a bit odd for me, but nothing was taken in our night there. It wasn’t clear to me how you pick which room you rent. I thought I had rented the whole castle but there was someone in one of the rooms when we got there. I was probably mistaken in my booking but it would be nice if it was more clear which room you’re booking or if it’s first come first serve so that confusion is eliminated but the castle itself and the experience staying there was really cool.

    Ryan2019-10-10T00:00:00Z
  • The castle was amazing and I would highly recommend it

    Gene2019-10-06T00:00:00Z
  • I had high expectations, and they were exceeded at every turn. Hatch’s Castle is a remarkable building and I had been expecting the thrill of staying In a castle complete with spiral staircase and turrets. But Nikki’s graceful touches make it so much more: homely furnishings, nice warm bathrooms, a lovely log fire, luxurious beds and a delicious breakfast. Thank you so much, Nikki.

I loved staying here it was a great location; very close to Dublin, bus stops, shopping centers, and grocery stores. It was clean, warm, and welcoming. Not to mention it’s a great value. There is some neighborhood noise (dogs, birds), but otherwise was very quiet and cozy. I would stay here over and over.

My neighbourhood is quiet there is a local park also a local supermarket And plenty of walks to explore. There is also parking outside the house on the street It is safe and secure
  • My room was a very big attic room, comfy bed and plenty of space. The kitchen was well equipped. Very close to the shops and the airport. Because of social distancing I haven’t really had the chance to meet Thomas but he seems like a really nice guy. Definitely good value for money.

    Lucas2020-04-15T00:00:00Z
  • Thomas is a really super nice and very attentive host. The independent checkin worked without any problems. Apparently there was water damage, so it was a bit messy, which didn't bother us as we were only there for one night. We got a bigger room than booked and Thomas makes a lot of effort. The rooms are spartan but clean. The two dogs are absolutely great. The location is good, we were there by car, which is why we cannot say anything about the connection to the public transport network. Thank you very much Thomas for the funny stay

    Kathy2020-03-08T00:00:00Z
  • We had a great time staying at Thomas place :) The room was small but very cozy and we met other travellers to talk to. Thomas is a friendly and kind host, he answered all our questions and was always there to help. The two dogs are super cute, though they might try to steal your food ;)

  • Thomas was a GREAT host and really went above and beyond! He had great communication and was close to the airport. He let me drop off my bags early, and I showed up with wet clothes from washing them the night before, and he dried, folded and put them in my room for me! In the morning I was having trouble getting a cab, so he tried to call one for me, but there were none available, so he personally gave me a lift to the post office to lighten my load for my trip home!! Stand up guy with quick responses and will do what he can to make your trip as easy as possible. Would definitely stay again!!

  • This is an interesting accommodation. Quite comfortable One of our favorites during our Ireland trip. It is out in the country though, so no restaurants, pubs, or stores in the immediate walking vicinity. If you like waking to the birds calling, instead of traffic noise, this is the place.
